I Just Knew That Obama Would End Up Stiffing Harry and Nancy

Poor Harry Reid. Poor Nancy Pelosi. They had those BIG dollar signs in their eyes whenever they gazed on their big new cash cow Barack Obama. They imagined the millions and millions he’d rake in, not just for his own race, but to finance all of their Senate and House races. That money they had their eyes on was one big reason they spurned Hillary Clinton for “The One.”

But I always had a hunch that “The One” wouldn’t bother to come through, and probably couldn’t.

Look, I’m leaving on my private jet this minute, my pockets stuffed with $30K cash, so I can get to Barbra’s pad for the songs and the schmoozing. I’ll say hi to Matt and Pamela for you! But I just had to share this article with you quickly:

Cash-poor Obama says no to Reid

Earlier this month, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid made a personal appeal to Barack Obama: Help me grow the Democrats’ Senate majority by sharing some of the $77 million you’ve got in the bank.

Obama’s campaign said no.

Although Democratic insiders say a better deal could still come, the Obama campaign so far has agreed only to let Senate Democrats use Obama’s name — as well as those of his wife and running mate — in mail and online fundraising pitches. The campaign has planned no joint fundraising events with House or Senate Democrats, and insiders say none is likely to be held before Election Day.

In rejecting a direct request from his Senate leader, Obama has put a fine point on the financial pressures he’s feeling as the presidential race turns toward the fall.

Look, my assistant has George (Clooney) on hold, so I gotta go. He’d better be at Babs’ tonight, or else.

But do read all of “Cash-poor Obama says no to Reid.”

Harry’s gettin’ the full Obama treatment — a lot of lovin’ promises followed by a big deadly push right under the bus. I sure hope the wheels on that bus are jacked up high enough for all the bodies under it.

Maybe the Congressional Dems need to rent a bulldozer and a crane! Adds Politico:

Democrats on Capitol Hill have grumbled for months that it has been hard to orchestrate campaign events and appearances with the Obama campaign. One Democratic strategist said the campaign frequently turns down requests to have Obama appear with a Democratic incumbent or challenger, and that the events that do happen come only after some “very heavy lifting.”

Classic Obama. We know the song and we know Obama is out for Obama.

We will see how much Babs pulls in for him.

How do these fundraisers skirt around limits on campaign contributions?

Comment by vinnie | 2008-09-16 19:50:08

I wonder that myself, does the $30K go toward the DNC??

Comment by Jacques | 2008-09-16 20:04:38

Who knows.

I think they mean “about” $30k. Actually, $28,600 per couple. Max $25,000 that can be given to a party, Max $2,300 that can be given to a candidate per person.

Obama’s people took over DNC finances and merged it with his Pres. Campaign. This was unprecedented. Also moved all the money and DNC staff to Chicago.

Usually Party money is parceled out to various Congressional races. Not this year, sweeties. Obama’s hogging it all. Maybe when the complaining gets too loud he’ll hand out some morsels, and C. Matthews will hail him as generous.

Comment by cleffnote | 2008-09-16 21:01:44

Nope, it’s all BO all the time now. All the money goes to Chicago. Sorry bout that Dean, but it is my understanding that you wanted BO and the DNC in Chicago. Too bad.

Yep, the communist agitator, Saul Alinksy, “grassrots revolution”, stir up a nest of hornets idea.

Oh yes. It was SO obvious he was using a teleprompter. He wasn’t hemming and hawing for once.

Comment by Leisa | 2008-09-16 18:49:46

Well, he bringing his teleprompter to every stop now.

We can write a fable entitled “Words on a Teleprompter” about how an empty, selfish, narcissistic man that fell in love with his own voice when words were placed in front of him. He was so in love with his own voice that others that heard him too feel under his spell.

The problem is the teleprompter is a machine and not connected to his heart, so he failed to live up to the exciting hype he created when he had to act without his teleprompter. Many people made excuses for the man, for they just knew he was special and that they were wise in their judgment of him…

How will the story end?

Here you see at Obama’s site, he is calling for spamming the phonebanks of WGN radio of Chicago, so we cannot hear alternate views on Obama.
” Tonight: Contact WGN
by Illinois from Chicago, ILMonday, September 15, 2008 at 08:36 PM
The author of the latest anti-Barack hit book is appearing on WGN Radio in the Chicagoland market tonight.

David Freddoso has made a career off dishonest, extreme hate mongering, even calling legislation to protect people from hate crimes the “Thought Police.”

And WGN apparently thinks this card-carrying member of the right-wing smear machine needs a bigger platform for his lies and smears about Barack Obama — on the public airwaves.

Freddoso will be on WGN tonight from 9:00 to 11:00 to promote his new attack book against Barack.

Tell WGN that by providing Freddoso with airtime, they are legitimizing baseless attacks from a smear merchant and lowering the standards of political discourse.

Call into the “Extension 720″ show with Milt Rosenberg at (312) 591-7200

(Show airs from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. tonight)

Then report back on your call at http://my.barackobama.com/WGNstandards
______________________________________________-

So it is clear that right from Obama’s main site he is calling for bombing a radio network with spam calling.
http://my.barackobama.com/page/content/ilhome

So that’s how this Obama crew plays, dirty as it can be. A Revolutionary call for spam shutdown - a PRE-EMPTIVE STRIKE… the very Bush Doctrine they claim they are against. :
LOL
Total domestic hypocrisy.

Comment by SportPolitics | 2008-09-17 21:18:43

Sorry missed part of their PRE-EMPTIVE STRIKE doctrine on domestic news media, in this case, the radio station of CHICAGO.
” Calling will only take a minute, and it will make a huge difference if we show that our grassroots movement can go toe-to-toe with their media smear machine.

Confront Freddoso tonight before this goes any further:

THE PRE-EMPTIVE STRIKE CAMPAIGN.
How can they claim they do not support the Bush Doctrine, when the very same thing, they use to ATTACK the Freedom of the Press in the USA ?
This is a STRIKING HYPOCRISY - please start a thread on this problem.
Here is their pre-emptive strike campaign at the top official Barak campaign website
http://my.barackobama.com/page/content/ilhome
____________________________________

Isn’t that amazing ? Not only do they cry against the Bush Doctrine aloud on national TV, they make exclusive use of it to DESTROY part of the 1st amendment of the United States of America - and strike against Freedom of the Press, before it even goes on air.
(WGN just testified on air how they were spammed to death as never before in the many decades of their radio history by raging obamaites from all over the USA- far into the night, and an email campaign coincided with this webpage campaign I posted.)
I think the Obama campaign should be questioned about it’s anti- 1st Amendment pre-emptive strike doctrine for it’s campaign.
It is clear they absolutely believe in the pre-emptive strike doctrine, and have decided they can crush the 1st amendment with it in the USA.

How did they not see this coming - when Obama took over all the field offices and put his own people in, when he moved the DNC to Chicago, what did they THINK he was going to do? They were so desperate for the CASH they thought he’d bring in that they fixed the nomination for him. They sold the entire Democratic Party out. Now they pay the consequences. Maybe if there IS a next time, they’ll nominate a DEMOCRAT instead of an autocrat.

Comment by Andy | 2008-09-16 18:45:26

HRC is working hard and relentlessly to try to help elect Dems to Congress. She CARES about Democratic principles. She cares about Democrats’ work in Congress.

Obama? Obama serves only for Obama. He couldn’t care less about Democrats in Congress or anywhere else. He doesn’t care about the people either. Obama only cares about Obama. The Superdelegates should have seen this coming from miles away before selecting him and shunning Hillary.
What a bunch of morons….

Comment by Deep Truths | 2008-09-16 20:03:26

Serves them right. They had to see this coming when he starting telling people to give money to him instead of the the national party. Obama sees to have complete control and will use it to take the party into a spectacular defeat. Maybe even lose a few house and senate seats as well.

Pelosi is not only under Obama’s thumb but doesn’t apparently even have the power and guts to yank Rangel out of his committee chair while he’s under investigation. She might as well resign–no power, no money, no respect, and no credibility. But, she did get Obama.

Oh boy, oh boy! Who needs MONEY to run a campaign when you can use the name of THE ONE - and wife of THE ONE!

Thank you, thank you, oh precious one! We, your unworthy and ungrateful subjects, humbly apologize for our audacity in asking you for the money you promised. We know we insult you when we question your wisdom or dare to try to hold your to your word! We ask only for your forgiveness!

The only way things are going to change is if somebody goes “ZELL MILLER” on the media and challenges them to a duel.

Some Republican with some gravitas needs to step up and call the media out for all their bullshit.

And when I say call them out. I mean they need to point out exactly how the media is trying to manipulate this election. It just cant be some low level surrogate. The words need to be beyond strong.

My personal choice would be for Arnold Schwarznegger to do it …

Comment by ritamary | 2008-09-16 22:45:34

What credibility does Arnold have? He is someone the corporate media pumped up just like Obama. We wasted millions of dollars on the recall and his stupid special election in which not one of his propositions passed.

Arnold took billions of dollars out of state transportation funding to balance the budget. He has been talking about a sales tax increase. Didn’t he say he would NEVER raise taxes? Sounds like you are a fan JM08. Isn’t that true at the time of the recall he said he would never raise taxes?

Now the state of California has a larger budget deficit than ever. Arnold isn’t able to influence his own Republican legislators to pass the budget. I think this is a record amount of time that California has been unable to pass a budget.

If you are looking here for people who like Arnold, you are looking in the wrong place.

But you all believe McCain is gaining in the polls ?

Did you take math in school ?

It does not make you a McCain supporter if you ignore the facts, and put your head in the sand.

Obama will have a 20 point lead in the polls, and you all will be living in some fantasy world that Obama is imploding.

BO might have a 20-point lead on the South Side of Chicago, but not in this election. Nope. And speaking of the South Side, the msm needs to cover conditions there since BO touts that area as one of his “accomplishments.”

The McCain/Palin ticket is ahead in the polls. BOBiden have a few states.

You don’t understand polling. Each pollster operates under a different set of assumptions, and those more than anything drive poll results.

What I find delightful is how the Democrats (my ex-party as of about three months ago) may blow a gimmee election. This is like when the hockey player breaks away after the other team has pulled its goalie, and falls on his ass.

There you will see what everyone is saying. It is a tight race but this was suppose to be the year of the DEMOCRAT”S and Obama screwed that up. From June until now he spent all that time thinking about himself instead of the issues. Then Palin stole the only part he had down, “Being Famous” and now he is stumbling.

Poll, Schmoll. Any Democrat with a chance needs to be up by 15+ at this stage to even remain viable.

Tick, tock. Its only a matter of time before the truth is revealed…daily…drip…drip. Obama is going to be the most hated human being, fronting as an authentic changer, this country, ney, the world has ever seen.

He will be mocked into oblivion.

John McCain
Remarks
Vienna, OH
September 16, 2008

John McCain: “We’ve seen a telling moment in this campaign today. Senator Obama saw an economic crisis, and he’s found a political opportunity. My friends, this is not a time for political opportunism; this is a time for leadership.

“Too often, we hear people say America’s in decline. I reject that. I believe America’s best days are ahead of us. Governor Palin and I are going to reform Wall Street. We’re going to reform Washington. I’m going to fight for you, and I’m going to lead our nation forward in the greatest periods of prosperity in its history.

“And let’s have some straight talk. Senator Obama is not interested in the politics of hope, he’s interested in his political future and that’s why he is hurling in insults and making up facts about his record.

“Today, he claimed that the Congressional stimulus package was his idea. That’s news to those of us in Congress who supported it. Senator Obama didn’t even show up to vote.

“He talks a tough game on the financial crisis, but the facts tell a different story. Senator Obama took more money from Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac than anyone but the chairman of the committee they answer to, and he put Fannie Mae’s CEO, who helped create this problem in charge of finding his Vice President. That’s not change, that’s what’s broken in Washington.

“He talked about siding with the people, siding with the people, just before he flew off to Hollywood for a fundraiser with Barbara Streisand and his celebrity friends. Let me tell you, my friends, there’s no place I’d rather be than here, with the working men and women of Ohio. I’m going to fight for you and together we’re going to win in November.”

Maybe Harry Reid should ask John Edwards for some money. Edwards just bought his law school daughter a million+ house in DC, to break in to adulthood.

I thought only the McCains had extra house money. I guess the Edwards (Kennedys, Kerrys, Pelosis, etc.) do also.

It was on Fox News today that demonstrators were picketing in Va. at one of the properties John McCain (CINDY) owns and the signs said “We need a place to live” (due to the mortgage foreclosures) - Neil Cavuta (FOX NEWS) asked the organizers why they didn’t ask other rich people - like Kerry and the Kennedy’s for a ‘place to live’. He said there were many other people, including democrats who had more than one home. Cavuta was trying to get them to fess up it was a ‘republican/McCain’ thing. People are SO INTO Obummer, it’s SICKENING - and they can’t even SEE that Obummer could CARE LESS ABOUT THEM! It’s all about HIM!

Cavuto asked them why they didn’t picket in front of Obummer’s mansion; he said it looked big enough! LOL!

All I can do is laugh at Harry and Nancy. Even Obama is laughing at them. Obama is saying, ‘you knew I was a snake and you still took me in.’

Methinks Obama is enjoying putting sycophants in their place. Sycophants in power no less. Is it any wonder that the democratically controlled Congress has a 9% approval rating. Nancy has FOUR percent. San Francisco and Marin county and tiny pockets of pseudo-liberal, guilt-ridden for the wrong reason, oligarchs.

Nancy and Harry - enjoy the Kool-aid for now. Watch out for the after taste: I hear its bitter.

Comment by Steve-O | 2008-09-16 20:29:54

This election provides the unique opportunity to win a number of seats in the House and Senate, but people need money for that. Obama has loads, but he is “cash poor”…
When I’m cash poor, I only have small change in my pocket, not $77m? Every single month, we read about fundraising efforts that only produce disappointing results, but then, suddenly, BANG, new record. :o

My guess is that Obama figured out in February that the huge number of donors are too much for any spread sheet, so checking on his huge army of donors is nearly impossible. If I had filthy rich, but dubious friends who want to donate to my campaign heavily, even beyond the legal limits, I would hide them in a mass of real and ficticious small donations of which I do not have to keep detailed records, because they are below the limits.
Since the $55m in February, nobody questions Obama’s fundraising abilities, so everybody assumes that all is hunky-dory. You could lead a herd of elephants through that loophole in the campaign financing system and nobody would notice it.

Another interesting question is: What happens to all the money? He is not giving it to the needy (Senate and Congress), so where is all the dough? I mean, do you see value for money?

Obama is a greedy b#stard. After stealing the primaries, he asked donors to donate to him, rather than to 527s or the other Democratic organisations. “Gimme, gimme, gimme and I get you the White House, the grand prize!”

Only a few days ago, one news service bemoaned the fact that there are no Democratic 527s to do Obama’s dirty work.

BTW: one of the recurring attack against Clinton in the later stages of the election was that she ran into debt and how could we ask her to run the country if she can’t even run her campaign? If Obama is “cash poor” after new record hauls of donations, what does that tell you about his abilites to handle big money?

What is his solution to his cash problem? “Donate mor money, gimme, gimme, gimme!” That’s where he will get the money, if elected: out of our pockets…

JM08, the state polls have tightened everywhere. It is not the national polls that are important(unless your guys ahead!!of course)
Go to RCP and look. I tell you this as well, republicans know how to bring out the vote. They always do it.
Also, McCain got a bounce, which means what goes up will come back down. I am willing to bet though that just like all primary Obama overpolls. The turnout models they use for him overestimate his support. I told you on the las thread Mac only has to hold the states bush won. Iowa was one of them but it looks like it will go obama. McCain can afford to lose it along with one more. if mac wins PA it is over, in a landslide probably and i think he can do it. I think most of the poeple in the “T” area of PA who voted Clinton i am betting close to half of them will support McCain. It is very rural, and if folks in that area can drive up turnout it is ours. I just signed up to volunteer, i live smack in the middle of PA. Palin can really help mccain with suburbs.
Just look at demographics of the primary JM, they will be about the same for mac as they were for clinton. Also, if McCain can keep a small gap on women or even take a slight lead he is sure to win. Dems always get women voters.

Could BHO and his campaign use the same tactics that Fannie Mae ad Freddi Mac used? The allusion of income? That’s what they did to cause this mess. McCain reported on this in 2005. Are all the vendors paid that BHO keeps running up? How about convention? Weren’t they “short” in meeting the expenses?

I think reports of the DNC and BHO finances may not be true. I have no proof, nor has there been any reports. I live on a limited income and every penny counts and, well, who can afford all that BHO has done since he has been running for president?

I’m not believing in his reports.
