If you want truth here, let’s admit that there’s enough blame to go around — and around … Dems and Repubs alike. The problem at hand is where do we go from here? Deregulation hasn’t proved bullet-proof and neither has constricting regulation. As a taxpayer, I resent like hell having a CEO rewarded for mismanagement and greed — and I resent the shareholders for not paying attention (but then, when do they ever when dividends are good?) I resent having my life savings compromised at best and wiped out at worst. Does McCain have all the answers? No. Does Obama? No. So who can best walk us through this morass? I have to say I’ll bet on the smart guy — the fast learner. I don’t see any choice but to go with Obama.

The campaign will rig the election, just as it has always done. Acorn voter fraud is appearing already. To combat fraud, we need photo IDs (not a requirement in many states), election officials who will moderate the vote (and maybe police), and volunteers with camera to record voting activities on the day of the election. The fraud needs to be PREVENTED, not exposed after the fact. Otherwise, Obama will be president, just as he became Senator and nominee as a result of dubious/rigged election procedures.

Both parties are complicit in the collapse due to the sub-prime market. All one has to do is look at speeches GWB made to HUD in 2002, and to the Gramm Bill that repealled Glass-Steagal. I know that you all will have google these terms as most here are oblivious to facts – playing with your emotions mostly, but give facts a try.

I hope you all get over your sadness that your candidate did not win. Hillary got over it, and was adult enough to move on. I thought more of the Hillary folks until I saw this site. Its based on emotion, smoke and mirrors.

And where is that video about Michelle Obama that we all were supposed to see in the days before the primary?

I not so sure McCain will fare well in the debates. Obama’s criticism that McCain intends to continue giving tax cuts to the rich–to greatly increase those cuts–while we’re running the largest federal deficits in history, is pretty compelling. Obama’s competing plan actually does reduce overall taxes to 95% of American taxpayers, and costs the treasury less than the McCain plan.

I keep expecting Obama to pitch his alternative energy development plan hard, both as a way to provide immediate stimulation to a flagging economy, and as a way to break our dependence on foreign oil in the near future. The immediate economic benefits of such a program would be great; the future benefits of the transition would be enormous.

With the polls are so close, the debates are going to be nothing if not interesting.

Another popular lie being repeated right now – I saw it on C-lying its ass off-NN – is that the last bailout of crooked bankers didn’t cost us any money. Check with the GAO. They put the cost in 1996 at $132 BILLION. And that was nothing compared to the Fred?Fan cleanup. So I know who Raines is and I CARE.

Not to mention that Obama’s campaign financial director, Penny Pritzker, made MILLIONS in her own family’s sub-prime banking fiasco, milking middle class Black families with crappy mortgages in Chicago.

Or you might be James Clyburn, where most of your earmarks go directly to companies where your own children are employed, and the poor Black constituents in the inner city ghettos and schools get completely screwed.

Kinda like the poor people in those housing projects in Chicago, where Obama got federal money for the rich developers, but the poor Black people in those housing units went without heat in a very cold winter.

Bush tried to re-regulate in 2003, and then again in 2005 (McCain’s speech on the Senate floor comes then).

but nothing is more telling than the CEO D.MUDD telling the black caucus in 2005 that FM is “in trouble” and the Obama’s are in attendance…(swear-in of Obama to the black caucus) so Obama is hearing that FM is “in trouble” but he begins accepting $$$$ to look the other way remember in 2005 Fannie mae publicily stated troubles….also Obamas have contributed $13,000 to the black caucus as “charity” in their tax filings…and yes he got almost as much in 3 years as did DODD isn’t it funny how Kerry and Obama are always linked together (another Axlerod prodigee)
