Maybe he sees his chances of a pardon from Obama slipping away, who know,s but he is talking and giving depositions in a lawsuit broght by a city worker who alleged in his lawsuit that he had been passed over for promotions and other benefits because he would not do the political work for the Daley administration, as demanded. The answers were amazing, but not shocking, and confirmed what many have suspected. Humorously, after each question was asked, you hear the City of Chicago's attorney making an objection for the record...no shit, they really don't want these questions answered. It was also funny that in the Daley administration, they have invented a new measurement for time. While most of us deal in days, weeks, months, and years, in the Daley administration, time periods are referenced by the number of "election cycles". For example, if you worked for the Water Department and performed all of the political functions required (kicking back part of your salary for political tickets and fundraisers, leg-work in the precincts, etc.) you should expect to receive a significant salary increase or promotion after two election cycles. Tomczak made it clear that the entire personnel and promotions system was politically rigged. There is soooooo much riding on Obama's election. I don’t pretend to understand the teachings of black liberation theology or what it means to be a person of color in America today. However, it does seem to me that the teachings of James Cone and Jeremiah Wright use their religion to bitterly cling to the old slights and injustices of the past and demonstrate antipathy to people that aren’t like them as a way to explain their frustrations.
