“While Everyone Else Is Working On Solving The Financial Crises, My Senator Is Working On His Abs”

Chicagoans Against Obama nails it again. Let’s face it, nobody knows Barack better than his unfortunate Chicago constituents.

In the midst of what could be our greatest financial crisis…..

What was the Senator of my great state doing at 8:20 am this morning?

He was doing crunches, in a DC gym …

It’s all about priorities.

FATTENING A PIG WITH ACORNS

Why, oh why, are people and the MSM not talking about this sickening twist?

THE ECONOMY IS IN A CRISIS AND THE DEMOCRATS ARE PORKING UP A RESCUE BILL WITH EARMARKS TO A-C-O-R-N (THE VOTER FRAUD OUTFIT).

NO WONDER THE GOP IS HOLDING FIRM.

http://hotair.com/archives/2008/09/26/the-democratic-acorn-bailout/

(excerpt:)

House Republicans refused to support the Henry Paulson/Chris Dodd compromise bailout plan yesterday afternoon, even after the New York Times reported that Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson got down on one knee to beg Nancy Pelosi to compromise. One of the sticking points, as Senator Lindsey Graham explained later, wasn’t a lack of begging but a poison pill that would push 20% of all profits from the bailout into the Housing Trust Fund — a boondoggle that Democrats in Congress has used to fund political-action groups like ACORN and the National Council of La Raza.

Comment by jrterrier | 2008-09-26 15:39:32

Graham keeps on mentioning ACORN each time he gets before the TV cameras. smart boy.

and by the way, the most laughable banner on MSNBC — “Barney Frank calls for House republicans to stop their revolt against George Bush”

do you think all the DEMS are smoking crack. Let’s see who wins that one: DEMS working with W, (less popular than even Nixon on the day he resigned) to pass a bill that sticks it to taxpayers to the tune of $700 billion or REPs turning against their inept president to protect taxpayers against the run-amock DEMs.

Comment by Andrew | 2008-09-26 15:41:41

Yep, Obama got the special stuff, the pure crack that goes down smooth and takes your brains with it.

Comment by Jim S | 2008-09-26 16:02:54

Barney Frank is one of the reasons we’re in this mess today. Letting him anywhere near the process, never mind leading it will cause a depression never mind a recession. He however, as some may have noted, is in the process of rewriting history, when he claims the Republicans would not let the Dem’s change the regulations. Frank knew that unqualified people were getting loans and pushed Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac to loan to those even less qualified, including illegal aliens. Frank however will come out of this smelling like a rose.

Comment by beebop | 2008-09-26 16:09:52

My very dearest gay friend today said, “Oh no, Frank isn’t gay, darling, he’s just cheerful.” I thought I would die laughing. When your own community turns on you …. :)

Comment by Uppity Woman | 2008-09-26 17:04:50

I have to confess I always liked Barney. But this is way over the line. His stupidity brought us down. I am SURE he had honorable intentions, it was just plain stupid not to control Fannie and Freddie. AND Acorn.

This is what we can expect if Obama gets in the WH. This is why they didn’t want Hillary Clinton. I knew there was some corrupt reason and now we’re seeing it.

Comment by Sharon | 2008-09-26 17:00:21

For God’s sake…you are reaching soooooo far with this. Hillary lost – accept it, no conspiracy, no vote fixing, nada. spin it whatever way you want, she ran a lousy campaign – and, just for good measure, who the hell do you think started this de-regulation crap in the first place???? Yup, Phil Gramm, the republicans and bill clinton signed it…it may have been veto-proof, but the first glass steagle bill was NOT and Bill would have signed that he said, as long as two or three conditions were met, which they were.

Comment by WildChild | 2008-09-26 17:02:45

Hillary won half the vote. LOL since BOBO also won half the vote he must have run a lousy campaingn too.

Comment by rw | 2008-09-26 16:44:30

I’ve tried to get a clarification on this, this afternoon, by calling my reps. and even Lindsay Graham’s office…no where do I read about the Acorn or Housing Trust Fund, and no one seems to know other than we’ll get back to you on it. I WANT TO KNOW NOW.

What is this Housing Trust Fund, what does it do and who does it target.

What – in detail – is in this bailout.

As for Obama doing abs and the picture that accompanies this post: gross. That is the word so often written by the Obama pieces of detritus concerning Hillary and Bill. I’ve learned well.

The only crunches they are doing is number crunches to see what they can afford between now and the end of the month. The Democrats have been reprehensible in this. So much for caring about the working class. I guess its really the non-working class they are pandering to.

Obama has the body of a fat kid. It makes me laugh at that he thinks he is giving the women folk a thrill.

A thrill for me would be Mr. Palin in a bathing suit walking out of the surf. Imagine that lean body, those muscles hardened from working and playing on the north slope of Alaska, not doing crunches at a “jim”.

Raspberries, the depth of flavor found raspberries is a wonder. Raspberry vinaigrette on my salads, or a raspberry filling mixed with mysterious dark chocolate. Raspberries represent total richness.

Todd Palin is raspberries to me. That’s what I thought when I saw his incredible blue eyes and dark hair. The rest of him was just confirmation, yeah raspberry..

This is the politics in action from the Democrat leaders of both Houses. Demand & resist !
Why can’t they solve the economic crisis FIRST WITHOUT insisting their pork barrels in the bill?
ACORN & National Council of LaRaza will survive & thrive more IF the economy is back to sound, healthy status. Right now the economy is in the ICU, & the Democrats want to continue inserting the wrong medication. Let the patient get well first, feed it to be robust, then put him to work to help the needy. Is that hard, Pelosi & Reid?
I’ve been a Democrat for over 30 years & this is the first time in my lifetime I will vote for a Republican ticket.DNC is not the one I know !
Vote McCain/Palin ‘08 to clean Washington & Wall Street

That link also has this, from American Spectator.

When Sen. Barack Obama was given the floor to speak during White House negotiations, according to White House aides, he did so raising concerns about a House Republican alternative to the Paulson/Bernanke $700 billion bailout. But those concerns weren’t necessarily his, as he was not aware of the GOP plan before reviewing notes provided him by Paulson loyalists in Treasury prior to entering the meeting.

It’s starting to look like a Goldman Sachs coup in Washington.

Liberals’ Favorite Beverage

Most red-blooded Americans are raised on mother’s milk; full of life-sustaining nutrients, patriotism, and love of individual freedom. Sometimes one wonders what has gotten into liberals. Turns out it’s not something in the water, it’s something in the milk.

Comment by LandOLincoln | 2008-09-26 16:42:51

Texaslatina, of course it’s already rigged. Obama is backed by the same people who stole two elections for George W. Bush, and who are now preparing to steal this next one for him.

They already stole the Dem nomination for him, and all that’s required for them to steal the presidency is for the election to appear to be close.

They sure as shootin’ aren’t going to steal it for McCain. They hate McCain and always have, and if you don’t believe me, follow the money.

Obama’s been in the senate less than 4 years, McCain’s been a senator since the 1980s, yet Obama’s already collected hundreds of thousands of dollars more from lobbyists and special interests in less than 4 years than McCain has in over 20.

And the MLM, which used to love McCain, are now backing Obama bigtime–including Fox.

That should tell you all you need to know about who’s getting support from the PTB this time around–and the hopes and needs of the American people be damned as usual.

Comment by LandOLincoln | 2008-09-26 16:46:05

Comment by K. Wynne | 2008-09-26 16:06:18

Guys, obama hangs out at the gym and takes vacations, when most public servants of the people would be working because he’s nothing more than a “front man”!

He repeats what others tell him to say. He doesn’t need to “work” at his job, he is only required to either memorize or read from a teleprompter the words of those who put him where he is today and who expect to gain direct access to the great power of the oval office — that is, if we allow him to win.

Stop treating him like he’s legtimate. Pumping iron in the gym is exactly what a fraud would be doing at a time like this.

Comment by trixta | 2008-09-26 16:07:10

No pork with bail out!

But I must clarify one point: The National Council of La Raza is basically a harmless organization which was established in the 1960s mainly as a support group for Chicano/Hispanic students in higher education, and expanded somewhat to community outreach activities (i.e. cultural events like Cinco de Mayo, and helping the non-English speakers navigate local and state bureaucracies.) We hardly want to take back the South West!

I attended a couple of meetings when in college, but the meetings were really boring and mundane. Unfortunately, Lou Dobbs has characterized this organization as some kind of “racial superiority” menace, based on its name “La Raza”! Dobb’s characterization and paranoia are pretty laughable!

The term “La Raza” basically refers to the new hybrid race that emerged from the Spanish conquest of the Indigenous populations, a term which is the basis of national identity in Mexico. On another level, “La Raza” also refers to those who claim cultural roots to the mythical place called Aztlan (South West & Northern Mexico). As such, the organization has helped the Chicano/Hispanic community not only recognize and preserve our cultural heritage, but struggle against racial prejudice and discrimination in the U.S.

To Lou Dobbs: Hispanics are some of Sen Clinton & Prez Clintons most loyal supporters. I and many members of my family count ourselves in that group.

Why don’t they do all that good work in Mexico where it is needed if it is such a great Mexican organization. Then those people would not need to sneak over here under cover.

Comment by trixta | 2008-09-26 23:48:59

Dixie—Such an organization would not be needed in Mexico, so your suggestion is silly! But if the U.S. corporations and U.S. government had stayed out of Mexico over the past century and stopped meddling in it’s elections than perhaps the living conditions wouldn’t be so bad there. (Most recently, Mexico had it own type of Bush/Gore election—it was stolen by their Right Wing which favors corporations and the privitization of national resources.)

Although Mexico did have a Revolution at the beginning of the 20 century, the corrupt Mexican oligarchy with the help of our meddling U.S. government and corporations have managed to undermine the Mexican economy over the decades. Believe me, if Mexico had a thriving economy, Mexicans would not come here.

Also, other immigrants from Central America come here because our government and corporations were there wreaking havoc economically and politically!

Our policy toward Mexico and Central America needs to change too, if we want to stop the flow of immigration here.

Anyway, I don’t want to continue this debate here because it goes in a different direction from the original thread—which is Obama and his inveterate holiday attitude.

He’s not against Hispanics at all.

He’s against ILLEGALs, and the government being too lazy to enforce the laws.

But then again, the corporations LIKE the cheap labor that comes with illegals.

I was wondering if Barney Frank still has his teeth? When he speaks his mouth is all sucked in like he just ate some lemons…no teeth???

The Speaker looked like she was a deer in the head lights, and was made even more questionable that the only person to come to the mike with her was Frank…truly an ODD COUPLE.

The Pub’s did not want to weigh in?

Well when we saw Reid he seemed to be sucking on something. He could have been sucking on some of Barney’s teeth. I hear they’re very close so it’s not at all impossible. ;)

Imagine, a morning workout! He probably took some time to have breakfast, too…

Meanwhile, Sarah is probably working with her flash cards. Judging from the Katie Couric interview, she apparently missed one before. The one concerning how to respond to a question about the $700 billion bail-out:

Palin: I’m all about the position that America is in and that we have to look at a $700 billion bailout. And as Sen. McCain has said unless this nearly trillion dollar bailout is what it may end up to be, unless there are amendments in Paulson’s proposal, really I don’t believe that Americans are going to support this and we will not support this. The interesting thing in the last couple of days that I have seen is that Americans are waiting to see what John McCain will do on this proposal. They’re not waiting to see what Barack Obama is going to do. Is he going to do this and see what way the political wind’s blowing? They’re waiting to see if John McCain will be able to see these amendments implemented in Paulson’s proposal.

Uh… Huh?

John Fund just on Fox talking about ACORN:

1. 0bama was a lawyer for them and helped them with the voter fraud accusations – said 0bama’s purpose was to keep the voting process as clogged up as possible.

2. 0bama was a trainer for ACORN – gawd only knows what he did in that capacity

3. Fund talked about some of the accusations of fraud against ACORN, though Bill Hemmer’s interruptions kinda drowned him out as he was really trying to explain it.

3. Fund talked about ACORN being a DEMOCRAT SPECIAL INTEREST and said that the republicans should be fighting to get the ACORN handout out of the rescue bill. So far, though, ACORN is still in the bill.

At least it’s getting talked about, if only on Fox.

Obama had to work out to get the blood flowing to his brain legally somehow. He can’t afford too many uhs and ers tonight.

Considering how bent out of shape Obama was when McCain said he was not going to debate until a bailout agreement was reached, you have to wonder what Obama has up his sleeve.

Did he have to memorize answers to certain spoonfed questions? Or does he have a foreign policy expert on a tight schedule feeding him answers through a hidden earpiece? Or does he have a special little electromagnetic destabilizer on site to hex John McCain?

I just don’t trust the man and I don’t trust media and I really don’t care what Obama says because I don’t believe a word he says.

So I guess I won’t even watch.

Comment by wodiej | 2008-09-26 16:40:06

To me, OChavez goes to exercise in the morning after the bottom fell from the negotiations out of contempt for the process. Why? Because his intentions is to be a president following in Chavez’s footsteps.

He can care less about the process that is established by the Constitution. He has his own process. The me, me and then me process.

Comment by MMI | 2008-09-26 16:53:24

He should try crunching some numbers instead. Someone needs to tell him exercise does not decrease the risk of cancer from smoking by much. I still can’t get over the hideous attack ad Dean’s brother made about McCain’s history with skin cancer.

I am glad McCain came back to Washington to stop Pelosi, Dodd, Reid, Frank, and Paulson from steamrolling a deal through that contained a big gift to ACORN.

Comment by Uppity Woman | 2008-09-26 17:25:13

They never had a deal. Name me ONE republican who said it was a Deal.

Comment by MMI | 2008-09-26 17:39:29

Poor choice of words on my part Uppity. I should have said Pelosi, Chris, Dodd, and Reid in conjunction with Paulson tried to create a public PERCEPTION that there was a deal. They thought they could corner McCain and the Republicans into agreeing or look like they are the deal breaker. Unfortunately most of the MSM is reporting Pelosi’s dishonest version of events.

I believe Obama will win. I am not voting for him. McCain took one of those Profiles in Courage steps that John F. Kennedy wrote of. He put the taxpayers and the country first in choosing to go back to Washington. He gets no credit for working the phones and trying to produce a bill that met his criteria of protecting taxpayers. The Democrats play it disgustingly political calling their party line demeaning a Senator who chose to help. His involvement shows his stature and experience. Obama’s “call me” clearly shows how unimportant he has been in the Senate and Washington. No one invited him back because he contributes little. Apparently, he is someone’s puppet.

The reason Obama was at the gym working out is he actually has nothing to say and no influence with anyone on the Hill. He is their front man, ala his time in the Illinois State Senate under Emil Jones. This guy has never written one major (and probably zero minor) pieces of legislation. He’s way beyond his element in this one. “Give me a call if you need me” – but all know I have nothing of value to offer.

Comment by Susan Trechak | 2008-09-26 19:43:25

The MSM has a vested interest NOW in keeping its collective reputation “above” all of the truthful Obama gutter crap. It’s almost as if they’ve all colluded amongst themselves & agreed NOT to reveal to us voters the REAL Obama truths (criminal – all of them!) I would not be at all surprised to find out that this has happened (not that we the voters would ever find this out….)

This is a very bad situation. The MSM will expose themselves as totally useless & BIASED should they FINALLY expose these truths. Basically, by expecting them to “talk” we are asking them to judge themselves – something they will go to great lengths to avoid. So, the point here is that the MSM – as the “natural” vetters – failed to do their jobs BEFORE Obot “became” the nominee. Now, not only are WE stuck with this moron but the MSM, themselves, are really in a bind. They are at fault for a large part of this situation. I hope they pay dearly for this continued obstruction.

Obot looks ridiculous in the above picture. Sooooo self-centered & vain. Recall that time when he went to the gym 6 times in one day?? Isn’t going to the gym 6 times in one day hugely inefficient – or isn’t Obot capable of recognizing “inefficiency” without an “inefficiency teleprompter”? I didn’t realize that ONCE wasn’t enough! Funny how this dude is so vigilant about going to the gym even though he’s always hanging out behind buildings smoking. Yeah, Obot. Just keep being your stupid, moronic, blowhard self.

I believe Obot is a clinical example of what it means to be a sociopath. This post is proof of that fact.

No compassion & passionless. Totally incapable of caring about anyone or anything beyond himself. THIS is why he cannot connect with the people: his sociopathic tendencies easily come across to those of us watching the “public” Obama.

HATE, HATE, HATE that guy.

Comment by Susan Trechak | 2008-09-26 19:59:19

That’s right, Educatedwhitewoman!

Obot’s Congress “stint” is meritless. He’s obviously not important enough to be needed anywhere.

Obot is/was one irregular senator!

It’s quite obvious that he was totally disinterested in anything having to do with duties expected of senators. Neither was he “present” in body or mind during those 2 unremarkable, lackluster years as a U.S. senator. But – he DID take advantage of every opportunity possible to add worthwhile accomplishments to his resume. He even took advantage of those opportunities that weren’t his to take advantage of in the first place (you know, like, um, taking credit for other people’s hard work – something I find despicable beyond belief….)

I’m not watching the debate because it will only make my blood pressure go up.

Again: I HATE, HATE, HATE that guy.

I read the lengthy John Fund article awhile ago right after it was first published. Excellent, revealing article. Also excellent are the series of articles written by Stanley Kurtz of the National Review & NRO. Very informative in re ACORN & how they + Obama steal elections – BIG TIME.

Yep, Obot STILL trains the Acornies! I don’t know how this ISN’T illegal – but somehow Obot managed to give $800K to ACORN. They, in turn, are helping Obot steal the election. You know: the “I’ll-rub-your-back-if-you-rub-mine” scenario. This mutual “rubbing” action all sounds pretty simple until you consider the fact that everything Obot engages in is criminal & 100% illegal.

What does he train them to do? He trains them to do what we’ve all seen them doing! Obot trains ACORN to “get in people’s faces” in order to intimidate them into doing things they might not otherwise think of doing (like voting different than planned). He also trains them HOW to register dead people to vote & also HOW to register the same person to vote multiple times.

Central to Obot’s ACORN training thesis is that utilizing the concept of FEAR facilitates ACORN’s goals. Who wouldn’t be more affirmatively responsive when subjected to various threats & intimidation? Basically, Obot teaches ACORN to successfully cheat, lie & steal by inducing FEAR in others.

Such outstanding principles, hey? Obot certainly is a guy we all can look up to, isn’t he? Thief. BIG TIME con artist.

It must be the sociopath in Obama that makes him NOT WORRY about the example he is setting for his own children. Amazingly Ruthless.
