THROWING MUD–CHICAGO STYLE

“You want to get tough in politics, I can get tough in politics as anyone else. When you start throwing mud, mud is going to be thrown at you and it’s going to be sticky.”

Oh no…McCain went and got little Dick Daley in a huff. I guess McCain’s ad pointing out the dirty machine politics in Chicago didn’t go over big with “Da Mayor” and he’s loaded for bear.

Here’s the ad….

Now, this normally wouldn’t bother ‘lil Dick Daley because he’s proud of his well-oiled political machine. His dad helped build that machine and ‘lil Dick has kept it running like a clock. What he didn’t like was the fact that one of the targets in that ad was his brother, Billy. The ad referred to him as a lobbyist. <span style=”font-weight:bold;”>”He’s not a lobbyist! He’s not a lobbyist! He’s never been a lobbyist!” </span>”Da Mayor” kept screaming as the veins throbbed and bulged from his forehead. I guess ‘lil Dick has a point, his brother wasn’t just lobbyist, per se. Billy was<span style=”font-style:italic;”> king</span> of the lobbyist. Somehow, just by a stroke of luck, Bill Daley became U.S. Secretary of Commerce under Bill Clinton. Daley repaid the Clinton’s for this favor by throwing his support to Barack Obama in this race. I guess Hillary was just too ethical for Daley’s taste.

As pointed out by John Kass in the Chicago Tribune this morning, Billy’s job was to “teach American companies there how not to get themselves shaken down by local political bosses.” Of course, who better to teach them than the brother of the boss of all political bosses? Right? Billy is planning on being our next Governor in Illinois. He wants to replace Governor Rod “Ethics? We don’t need no stinkin’ ethics!” Blagojevich who replaced former Governor George H. Ryan (Republican), who, in addition to steering contracts worth millions of dollars to friends in return for payments and vacations, was also nailed for bribes being paid for truck licenses. One of those truck drivers who received the unlawful license was not only a bad driver, but his truck was falling apart. A mud flap-taillight assembly fell off, punctured the gas tank of a trailing mini-van and the resulting inferno killed six children of Scott and Janet Willis of Chicago. I hope the former Governor Ryan is dreaming of those kids every night while he’s in jail.

Yup, that’s Illinois politics. It doesn’t matter which party, Republican or Democrat, they’re all knee deep in dirt and corruption. At the very least, they are associated with someone who is.

Crook Cook County is where the worst of it is. That’s where Obama began his career, and he’s proud of that. He mentioned in an interview during the primary that he wasn’t afraid of facing Hillary Clinton because “I’m from Chicago”. Remember what he said in Philadelphia during the primaries? “If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun,” That’s the Chicago way, folks! And just think of it…Obama wants to go national with Chicago style politics. He wasn’t lying when he said it’s time to abandon the old Washington style politics. What he didn’t say was, he wants to replace it with the slimy Chicago style politics. Think about it…Mayor Daley sitting in the Oval Office with Barack Obama, “helping” him as he is going through his list for Cabinet members. The Chicago machine gone National. Scary, isn’t it?

Obama was a key player behind the mortgage crisis.

Sources point to Obama as a possible starting point to the domino affect that lead to the housing crises we are now facing. Check the provided links and judge for yourself.

“In a 1995 case known as Buycks-Roberson v. Citibank, Obama and his fellow attorneys charged that Citibank was making too few loans to black applicants and won the case. As one commentator noted in May 2008, legal “successes” such as this were probably responsible for the sub-prime mortgage crisis of 2007 AND 2008. That is, banks were not loaning to blacks whose credit was poor. When the law forced them to lend money anyway, the inevitable collapse occurred.”

Buycks-Roberson v. Citibank Fed. Sav. Bank

Obama’s Early Legal Career: Heavy on Advocacy for Blacks

A trillion here, a trillion there, pretty soon we’re talking about real money

Obama was a key player in the lawsuit that started the government on a course of forcing lenders to give more loans to those who had poor credit. Lending companies were forced to come up with imaginative ways of fulfilling the quotas that were required. Sub-prime lending was born as a result. The mortgage crises was forecast by many who were able to look beyond the quota.

BREAKING SCANDAL:

Missouri Governor Accuses Obama of Conspiring to Violate Civil Rights

Note the Web domain of the press release, governor.mo.gov. This is not “someone’s blog,” a “rumor,” or a “smear.” It is the official Web site of Missouri’s state government.

The Governor of Missouri says openly that Barack Obama conspired to misuse his state’s law enforcement resources to “threaten and intimidate his critics.”

Cannot overemphasize the gravity of Governor Blunt’s accusation.

“Conspiracy against rights” is a felony under the U.S. Code, Title 18 (Crimes).

At present, Governor Blunt’s allegation is exactly that, and Barack Obama, like everybody else, is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. On the other hand, the court of public opinion is entitled to render a verdict before Election Day, and the following accusation needs to be either disproven or confirmed to the public’s satisfaction.

Read this and spread the word. Circulate Governor Blunt’s press release, which appears below, as widely as possible.

Gov. Blunt Statement on Obama Campaign’s Abusive Use of Missouri Law Enforcement

Gov. Blunt Statement on Obama Campaign’s Abusive Use of Missouri Law Enforcement

JEFFERSON CITY - Gov. Matt Blunt today issued the following statement on news reports that have exposed plans by U.S. Senator Barack Obama to use Missouri law enforcement to threaten and intimidate his critics.

“St. Louis County Circuit Attorney Bob McCulloch, St. Louis City Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce, Jefferson County Sheriff Glenn Boyer, and Obama and the leader of his Missouri campaign Senator Claire McCaskill have attached the stench of police state tactics to the Obama-Biden campaign.

“What Senator Obama and his helpers are doing is scandalous beyond words, the party that claims to be the party of Thomas Jefferson is abusing the justice system and offices of public trust to silence political criticism with threats of prosecution and criminal punishment.

“This abuse of the law for intimidation insults the most sacred principles and ideals of Jefferson. I can think of nothing more offensive to Jefferson’s thinking than using the power of the state to deprive Americans of their civil rights. The only conceivable purpose of Messrs. McCulloch, Obama and the others is to frighten people away from expressing themselves, to chill free and open debate, to suppress support and donations to conservative organizations targeted by this anti-civil rights, to strangle criticism of Mr. Obama, to suppress ads about his support of higher taxes, and to choke out criticism on television, radio, the Internet, blogs, e-mail and daily conversation about the election.

“Barack Obama needs to grow up. Leftist blogs and others in the press constantly say false things about me and my family. Usually, we ignore false and scurrilous accusations because the purveyors have no credibility. When necessary, we refute them. Enlisting Missouri law enforcement to intimidate people and kill free debate is reminiscent of the Sedition Acts - not a free society.”

- - - - - -

If this allegation is true, Barack Obama needs to do more than grow up. Governor Blunt said explicitly that “I can think of nothing more offensive to Jefferson’s thinking than using the power of the state to deprive Americans of their civil rights.”

The U.S. Code (Title 18, Crimes) has a specific name for this.

TITLE 18 > PART I > CHAPTER 13 > § 241
§ 241. Conspiracy against rights

If two or more persons conspire to injure, oppress, threaten, or intimidate any person in any State, Territory, Commonwealth, Possession, or District in the free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege secured to him by the Constitution or laws of the United States, or because of his having so exercised the same; or

If two or more persons go in disguise on the highway, or on the premises of another, with intent to prevent or hinder his free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege so secured—

They shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and if death results from the acts committed in violation of this section or if such acts include kidnapping or an attempt to kidnap, aggravated sexual abuse or an attempt to commit aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to kill, they shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for any term of years or for life, or both, or may be sentenced to death.

The “going in disguise on the highway” part probably refers to two or more night riders in sheets and hoods threatening Black people–the same constituency whom the Anointed One claims to represent–with repercussions for voting, exercising their right to free speech, and so on. In fact, a related section of the U.S. Code is known as the Ku Klux Klan Act for this exact reason.

In addition,

TITLE 42 > CHAPTER 21 > SUBCHAPTER I > § 1985
§ 1985. Conspiracy to interfere with civil rights

(3) Depriving persons of rights or privileges
If two or more persons in any State or Territory conspire or go in disguise on the highway or on the premises of another, for the purpose of depriving, either directly or indirectly, any person or class of persons of the equal protection of the laws, or of equal privileges and immunities under the laws; or for the purpose of preventing or hindering the constituted authorities of any State or Territory from giving or securing to all persons within such State or Territory the equal protection of the laws; or if two or more persons conspire to prevent by force, intimidation, or threat, any citizen who is lawfully entitled to vote, from giving his support or advocacy in a legal manner, toward or in favor of the election of any lawfully qualified person as an elector for President or Vice President, or as a Member of Congress of the United States; or to injure any citizen in person or property on account of such support or advocacy; in any case of conspiracy set forth in this section, if one or more persons engaged therein do, or cause to be done, any act in furtherance of the object of such conspiracy, whereby another is injured in his person or property, or deprived of having and exercising any right or privilege of a citizen of the United States, the party so injured or deprived may have an action for the recovery of damages occasioned by such injury or deprivation, against any one or more of the conspirators.

Governor Blunt’s press release uses the specific words “using the power of the state to deprive Americans of their civil rights,” “intimidation,” and “silence political criticism with threats of prosecution and criminal punishment.”

Any attorneys who read this, could you weigh in on whether, assuming that Governor Blunt’s allegations are proven, this constitutes a violation of the U.S. Code as shown above?

Meanwhile, if these allegations are indeed true, then Barack Obama can be compared legitimately to Adolf Hitler. Godwin’s Law applies only when a comparison of a political opponent to Hitler or Nazis is a gross exaggeration, and “using the power of the state to deprive Americans of their civil rights” is exactly what Hitler and real Nazis once did to Germans.

Are you trying to say that all these bad mortgages belong to black people?

Bullshit!

Banks have been practising discrimination for decades by making loans to whites with the same credit profile and turning down blacks. It’s called ‘red-lining.’ And it’s wrong. If they’re going to lend the money to one, it’s only fair to accord the same every ethnic group.

But I would like to see an ethnic/racial breakdown of all these bad housing loans. I doubt that AAs and latinos combined make up 50%.

Actually, I’m shocked that 0bama even worked on such a case. It’s not like he’s made helping blacks a high priority.

Possible change of heart
Rezko talked with prosecutors, may aid probe, sources say
By David Kidwell, John Chase and Jeff Coen

Chicago Tribune reporters

5:24 PM CDT, September 27, 2008

Antoin “Tony” Rezko, a convicted influence peddler who was once one of Gov. Rod Blagojevich’s most trusted confidants, has met with federal prosecutors and is considering cooperating in the corruption probe of the governor’s administration, sources told the Tribune.

Rezko’s possible change of heart—after years of steadfast refusal—has sent ripples through a tight circle of prominent defense attorneys who represent dozens of potential witnesses and targets in the wide-ranging probe.

His cooperation would give prosecutors investigating the governor and his wife access to someone they have described as an ultimate political insider at the center of a pervasive pay-to-play scheme.

Rezko’s trial this year laid bare a culture of scams, bribes and backroom deals stretching from City Hall to the Statehouse. It even became fodder in the presidential campaign of Democratic nominee Barack Obama, whose fundraising and personal ties to Rezko go back more than a decade.

Rezko has made no deal in the wake of his June corruption conviction, sources familiar with the situation said, but has had preliminary talks with prosecutors before an October sentencing that could put him in prison for years. Still, there are indications Rezko has already provided investigators with information.

Four attorneys have told the Tribune in recent days that federal prosecutors have telephoned them and other attorneys either with news Rezko is talking, or armed with details only Rezko could know. The lawyers speculated prosecutors are using the preliminary talks with Rezko to shake loose more cooperation from other witnesses.

“I had very recent a conversation with an assistant U.S. attorney that led me to believe they were getting specific information from either Mr. Rezko or Mr. Rezko’s lawyer,” said a defense attorney who said he represents a figure in the case. None of the attorneys interviewed would agree to be quoted by name, saying they didn’t want to hurt their clients.

The U.S. attorney’s office in Chicago declined to comment, as did Rezko’s attorney William Ziegelmueller.

Rezko’s potential worth to federal authorities extends to every aspect of their investigation, including probes of state hiring and real estate deals involving the governor’s wife. Prosecutors have portrayed Rezko, a former restaurant magnate and real estate developer, as intricately involved in some of the most guarded decisions since the earliest days of the administration.

During his trial, prosecutors described Rezko as having a direct line to the governor and his top aides on issues including policy and the appointments of key department heads and members of state regulatory boards. And, they charged, Rezko traded those positions and favors for some of the millions in campaign contributions he raised for the governor, and for the allegiance of those he lifted to influential posts.

One key aspect of the federal investigation centers on the real estate dealings of the governor’s wife, Patricia, who was paid hundreds of thousands of dollars over the years as a broker for Rezko, his associates and others with business before the state. Federal investigators have subpoenaed records and conducted interviews regarding her real estate dealings. The governor and his wife have denied wrongdoing.

During the trial, three convicted political insiders testified about private meetings with the governor that prosecutors cited as evidence of a scheme to buy state jobs and business with campaign donations. Each testified that Blagojevich implied campaign donors would profit from his influence.

One of those witnesses, former Illinois Finance Authority Executive Director Ali Ata, testified that he attended a meeting at Rezko’s offices with Rezko and the governor before he was hired. At the meeting, Ata said, he brought a $25,000 check that was placed on the table in front of Blagojevich, who then mentioned a state job.

Rezko has adamantly denied guilt and vowed never to cooperate with federal investigators.

Two months before his conviction on fraud charges, Rezko typed a letter to his trial judge accusing “overzealous” prosecutors of pressuring him to talk about wrongdoing involving Obama or Blagojevich. Rezko said there was none to talk about.

“They are pressuring me to tell them the ‘wrong’ things that I supposedly know about Governor Blagojevich and Senator Obama,” Rezko wrote U.S. District Judge Amy St. Eve in an April bid to be released on bail during his trial.

“I have never been party to any wrongdoing that involved the governor or the senator,” Rezko continued. “I will never fabricate lies about anyone else for selfish purposes. I will take what comes my way, but I will never hurt innocent people.”

Rezko was a political supporter of Obama going back to when he was running for state Senate. Obama’s ties to Rezko have become a political albatross for the presidential nominee, who has been forced to defend the convicted felon’s fundraising activities for him and revelations Obama bought his South Side mansion on the same day in 2005 that Rezko purchased a vacant lot next door.

Officials for Obama’s campaign have said prosecutors during Rezko’s trial never made any suggestions that Obama was involved in anything improper.

Still, Republican presidential nominee John McCain has highlighted the ties between Obama and Rezko in a national television commercial.

I don’t care about Rezko spilling the beans on Blag. I want him to get Obama disqualified! Obama is filth! Blag is going down anyhow. He’s not a traitor like Obama is.

Some Democrats are in denial about the corruption surrounding Barack Obama. Or else when Democrats are involved in pay to play it is just fine. I am unsure what the rationalization is.

My local Democratic precinct captain’s response to my questions about Tony Rezko: “Who is Tony Rezko?” However this lady was so indignant about corruption among our local Republicans, particularly our former congressman Randy “Duke” Cunningham.

The apartment complex manager here was also very irate about Randy Cunningham, but now she has an Obama campaign poster in her office window, and an Obama sticker on her van.

Comment by Zorro Astor | 2008-09-27 19:53:56

In Chicago certain things are taken for granted.

1. The city (and the state) will always be run by Democrats. This is just the way it’s always been and seemingly will always be. Politics equates to Democrats. And not real Democrats but Chicago Democrats. They’re the only breed of Democrats known.

2. Everybody is on the take. Everybody is corrupt. This is simply a fact of life. People don’t think much about it. They’ve never experienced anything else. They don’t think much how it might be different somewhere else. This is the only reality they’ve ever known.

3. The Dems/Daleys/Obamas always get their grassroots Alinsky support from the black community. What others call ‘ADC’ - ‘All Daley’s Chillun’ This is their power base. Always has been, always will be. You don’t really help these people get out of their predicament - you just give them token help. You need them to remain downtrodden so you can still get their support.

4. Voting can often be pointless. All elections can be rigged. There is no justice. Every law can be broken and you can bust anyone for anything with no legal backing whatsover. That’s how you deal with political enemies too. It’s no wonder that poor Russian girl was scared and got flashbacks. Chicago is not a free town; the atmosphere is downright oppressive; its people are not free.

I’ve been long gone for a long time. My entire clan got out - it was just too ugly for words. And we weren’t the victims of the corruption - we were the beneficiaries of it. But we couldn’t take it.

The Daley’s? Jerks. To the last one. Not a one has character. And they run their lives and their careers exactly like Vito Corleone. People think they know how ugly corrupt the Daley Chicago scene is. They have no idea. Whatever you assume when you assume the worst: multiply it. By any number. Imagine something twice as bad, three times as bad. And still you’re not close. Now try to imagine living in that stench each and every single day. Getting wanderlust yet? ;)

Yes, we prefer the Truth - just as we did during the primary when Obama aired his lying ads about Hillary. Obama’s pre-emptive strike with prosecutors and law enforcement officials in Missouri — seeks to create a narrative that Obama is a victim of Evil - or may be, or could be, one day. And the media pundits assist him with that false narrative - rarely commenting on Obama’s LYING radio and TV ads - nor all the LIES he’s told to advance his political career and candidacy!

Blunt, GOP say Obama ‘truth squad’ seeks to squash free speech with police power
Democrats: It’s a manufactured controversy
Chad Livengood — September 27, 2008

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Gov. Matt Blunt and Republicans are accusing Barack Obama’s campaign of assembling a “truth squad” with law enforcement officials to intimidate Obama critics from speaking out against the Democratic presidential candidate.

Yet a top Republican National Committee official admits the Democratic prosecutors from across Missouri “haven’t specifically said” they would use their prosecutorial powers on Obama’s behalf.

Using his taxpayer-funded press office to level a political attack, Blunt issued a statement Saturday to denounce the unproven allegations.

“What Senator Obama and his helpers are doing is scandalous beyond words, the party that claims to be the party of Thomas Jefferson is abusing the justice system and offices of public trust to silence political criticism with threats of prosecution and criminal punishment,” Blunt said in a written statement.

On Wednesday, Obama’s Missouri campaign announced U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill would lead a group of Democratic lawmakers, prosecutors and one sheriff “who will be proactive in letting voters in the Show-Me State know the truth in the face of the distortions by the McCain campaign,” according to a news release.

The group includes prosecutors from St. Louis, Dunklin, Lafayette, Cass, Clay, Ripley, Audrain and Jackson counties volunteering to be surrogates for Obama on their own time.

The Missouri Truth Squad will “respond quickly, forcefully, and aggressively when John McCain or his allies launch inaccurate claims or character attacks about Barack Obama, or when they distort Barack Obama’s record or plans.”

In a conference call Saturday with reporters from battleground states, Obama national campaign manager David Plouffe said those who spread lies and mistruths about the Illinois senator have to be “held accountable,” but did not elaborate how.

Despite having law enforcement officials on the truth squad, none of them have publicly said they will invoke their official powers to enforce facts about Obama’s record.

The controversy was sparked by a KMOV televion report featuring St. Louis County Attorney Bob McCulloch and St. Louis City Attorney Jennifer Joyce saying they would respond to paid advertising twisting Obama’s record (the story was picked up by influential right-wing blogger Matt Drudge).

They never said they would invoke their powers, but Republicans say just attaching their law enforcement titles to their names for political reasons gives off a perception of a police state.

Face it: this Axelrod is smart. He’s evil incarnate but he’s smart. Not all of these moves - or even most of them - are coming from Obama himself. They’re the positioning of Axelrod. This has Axelrod written all over it. It gets out the message exactly how Axelrod wants to and it doesn’t cost a dime. It plants the seed that McCain is corrupt and lies a lot - for why would they create such a ’squad’ if McCain were on the up and up? It’s brilliant and it’s just the kind of thing that monster Axelrod would devise.

Please, America, do not vote for this corruption. these are the same people who are trying to attach pork for Acorn onto the bailout. It makes you wonder, these are the same people who are bleating that Social Security is safe, nothing to see here folks, move along.

Wake up America, the Democrats have fattened themselves on Wall Street and impoverished Main Street, and now they want Main Street to vote for them and THEIR failed policies. Yes. This would go a long way to explaining what happened. They didn’t know in 1992 and in 1996 you just don’t challenge an incumbent.

But now they know.

That is one ugly mayor, folks. Ponder that person. This is why the Russian girl in here who was stationed for a while in Chicago said the city made her paranoid and gave her Soviet flashbacks, that she hallucinated seeing pictures of this evil beast on every wall in every room.

It’s not just in the fairy tales: evil has a way of turning people downright ugly.

I had no idea about this a week ago. I didn’t know what ACORN was a week ago. I didn’t know somebody came along with the ‘black’ idea that it was discrimination to not grant a housing loan to somebody on welfare?!??? How could anyone have suspected something that stupid was going on?

A week ago I didn’t understand people like Obama were literally taking banks to court to force them to grant unsafe loans. I didn’t know how the banks went and figured out how they ‘thought’ they could make money off this anyhow.

Seriously: what do these black people expect? I don’t see anyone else making such a big stink. What makes them think they are so fucking special?

I have a tip here: people are going to have to get them out of this - and all that ‘black supremacy’ shit - and do it fast or the entire country is going to go down the tubes.

And maybe Auchi will buy it up? ;)

I’ve known these people - from the inside. These despicable Daleys. My clan benefited from their graft. Folks? That is one ugly world. You have no idea.

Comment by John L. | 2008-09-27 20:05:36

I know that world too. I grew up in Chitown (Go Cubbies) When I was in law school during the reign of King Richard the First, I clerked at a very politically connected firm based out of the Bridgeport neighborhood where Daley lived. The coziness between the lawyers, judges and politicians, and the amount of money constantly changing hands (I know, I delivered some of it) was amazing. Even my low level participation gave me virtual immunity from traffic violations and sometimes worse.

The patronage system worked to make sure all the loyal voters from the precincts had jobs at City Hall or the Cook County offices. I would walk into the County clerk’s office, go up the counter and see nothing but patronage workers sitting behind clean desks, usually one or two of the desks were vacant. Of course for the business I needed to transact, the person that should have been at the empty desk was the one I needed to see, everyone else saying that is not my job… until the cash came out of my pocket… then there was someone always eager to help. I doubt that anyone was ever really assigned to the empty desks,

The best was, since I had moved out of Chicago to go downstate to UI, when I returned I had to re-register to vote. I went the local ward office to pick up my voter’s registration application, which was cheerfully given to me. As started to fill it out, I noticed the party identification was already marked Democratic. I asked for a new application as I explained the one I had was already marked up. The kind patronage worker calmly told me..that;s the way they all are, honey. I left with out registering saving that for when I was downtown where at least some oversight had to be given to the voter registration process. I was going to register Democratic anyway, but that one act infuriated me beyond belief, after all I was a young idealistic law student, so I eventually registered libertarian out of protest but never told anyone where I worked.

Comment by Divine Democrat | 2008-09-27 20:44:52

I’m from Chicago, I was born and grew up there and we had a lot family members from my dad’s side of the family that worked either directly with the first Mayor Daley or someone within his machine. Most of them just worked County jobs or as precinct captains, but if they didn’t tow the line come time to get the votes out on election day, they wouldn’t have a job when they returned on Wednesday after the election. It was very much like the mob and still is.

Comment by Zorro Astor | 2008-09-27 22:56:49

I think it’s obvious to anyone visiting this thread and not familiar with Chicago that this corruption is indeed more widespread than first meets the eye. I count four (4) tales which are very similar and contain many of the same elements.

The ‘virtual immunity’ thing is well known - at least within these circles. What many - even those who once were in Chicago - might not have realised is that this immunity works well beyond the city bounds too. Almost anywhere in the state I’d presume this immunity will hold. I’ve seen one very good example of it: a relative busted in a speed trap twenty miles south of the city. He played the game politely - and then turned the ticket over to ‘city hall’. And the burb where this happened got in a lot of trouble.

This type of perk was, as I understand it, easy and cheap to mete out and normally resulted in a lot of strengthened duplicity for those who benefited. How can you turn down a perk that means no cop within the city will dare give you a ticket for almost anything? It’s almost like driving with diplomatic seals on your car!

At any rate: for those of you who’ve been spared this business think of what you can read here. Think of what Auric Goldfinger said about happenstance and coincidence. ;)

Let’s not forget that the phrase “The Culture of Corruption” refers to a republican-dominated Senate and Congress, not to the recent democratic majority.

Shall we compile a list of republican scandals, and elected officials who have become convicted felons over the past 8 years? They sure seem to be outperforming the democrats, when it comes to being carted off to federal prisons.

A current republican senator from Alaska is running for reelection while under indictment for 7 felony counts.

Did you hear that the place where Daley wanted to build the Olympic Village has been shot down by the courts and they have to find a new spot? LOL! I have the feeling that some judge is going to be sporting a pair of cement shoes in a few weeks.

Comment by csuzeq | 2008-09-27 21:25:51

I am so glad someone else admits to having nightmares! I have had nightmares for a long time also. When I realized that we were never going to stop Obama from becoming the nominee, I told myself as a dem I would have to vote for him. I had nightmares every night for 2 weeks. I would dream that I went to vote, saw McCain and Obama on the ballot, after staring at it forever, reluctantly voting Obama, then leaving the building, getting to my car and severely vomiting. Each morning I woke up startled and wanting to vomit. Then I decided I could vote McCain, he was not nearly so bad and the nightmares stopped.

Now I do have nightmares of a different nature, usually they involve Obama and horrible things happening to Palin. I wake up about ready to have a heart attack, seriously.

What has happened to our Country?

I was over at “the real bo” (previously rezkowatch) reading yesterday about the canary, and today over at the Tribune. That is their town and this is their hometown candidate and their case to make.

The Chicago papers have been talking about ob and Rezko and Blago for years but until proven in a court of law they have to disclaim it and allow for the presumption of innocence.

We don’t. There is enough data there to wave gigantic red flag warnings to anyone,’cept for obots.

His audacity, arrogance and ignorance is stunning.

Blago and ob were visiting Rezko frequently according to the FBI mole who was on that case.

Rezko knows where ALL the bodies are hid, he is the key and it was such a great move for Fitz to take him down first. The big fish are harder to fry.

The Chicago papers have been talking about ob and Rezko and Blago for years but until proven in a court of law they have to disclaim it and allow for the presumption of innocence.

You don’t realise how hard it is to print stuff like that. Axelrod learned - easier to switch sides and be the punk of the devil.

The Daleys have a long history of going after their enemies. And threats. They set them up. As in frame them for crimes. They used to spy on the homes of journalists. Sneak on their properties. In the dark of night. With film cameras.

It’s very easy and straightforward. For example: there used to be a law on the books making cunnilingus and fellatio ‘crimes against nature’ felonies punishable by two years in prison or more. See where this leads?

The ambitious journalist gets called to a meeting. He gets shown some photographs. He gets told if he drops his investigation the photos never need reach the police.

Comment by Chicago Joe | 2008-09-27 20:51:04

There are only a few reporters in Chicago who a) have a history here that puts the various corrupt events into context; and b) who have the courage to go after the players regardless of where the trail leads. Back in the day, Walter Jacobsen was the one to blow the whistle, and if he were in his prime, he would expose all this. But there aren’t too many now who would rock the boat this way.

Well, here’s my take on this. We know how Chicago politics works; and it’s known to everybody. You mention Chicago any where else outside of Illinois, “Oh, that’s the Capone city, do they really have gangsters there? Nothing has changed…didn’t old man Daley help pull off the Presidency for John Kennedy? What power! He had more power than the president. And know that Richie Daley learned a thing or two from daddy.

Comment by Zorro Astor | 2008-09-27 20:21:09

didn’t old man Daley help pull off the Presidency for John Kennedy?

Yes and he got paid at least $90 million by JFK for it. He started this project to build a freeway. Budgeted at $100 million. Except by the time JFK got elected they’d wasted $90 million and weren’t close to finishing it. So JFK officially bailed them out - gave them another $90 million.

And here’s the brilliance of the scam: they didn’t pocket a single cent of the money JFK gave them - they pocketed the first $90 million instead. The money was already gone.

That was Hillary’s first political assignment. She was something like 14 at the time. She wandered over into the ‘bad neighbourhoods’ to investigate voter fraud.

When I first started researching Barack Obama I was really mystified as to why he moved to Chicago of all places. Why would a supposedly brilliant young black man with no personal connections to Chicago choose to live there?

I and all my family were born on the South Side but we now live in California. Chicago is a really violent and corrupt place. It is also one of the most racially segregated cities not only in the United States but in the world. It is impossible to get any kind of city job there without a political connection.

My father grew up in the same neighborhood as Mayor Daley the First. My dad said Daley and friends called themselves a social club but they were more like a street gang.

Comment by Zorro Astor | 2008-09-27 20:27:09

What ritamary says is 100% true. My grandfather grew up in the neighbourhood adjacent to the Daley hunting grounds. They were all street gangs to start with. And as time went on and they began to appreciate the many benefits of a life in politics they became the ‘city hall mafia’.

They’re all connected: the police, the fire department, everything. The Daleys would pass any law/city ordinance you wanted if you put them on the take and you needed to stack your own market in your favour.

The segregation is true. It’s seen as a very dangerous place. And it’s totally polarised. Totally. It’s a great Alinsky revolutionary greenhouse.

ritamary, nice to make your acquaintance. It’s nice to see someone else experienced the same thing I did. It sort of takes a bit of the sting out of the nightmare that is the memories of Chicago.

Comment by Deep Truths | 2008-09-27 20:58:58

The racial polarization explains the Rev. Wright, Farrakhans, and Father Phlegers of the world. When America has evolved in terms of racial bonding if you will, the glacial pace of racial evolution never warmed in the Windy City. That and a sense of ‘community’ can never flourish when power in centered and developed in the same corrupt ‘tradition’ of Chicago.

The megacities of the midwest are a pathetic mess.

Same for us. I think the answer is Saul Alinsky. Everybody Obama came into contact with in Chicago was filth. His boss at the law firm was working for Rezko and later became his partner; and so forth.

It also took us a long time (don’t laugh) to understand what the Rezko-type housing business was and why it was so lucrative. It’s government money (taxpayer money) and nobody’s watching. It’s a brilliant scheme for flash cash - really obscene amounts of cash in no time flat.

It’s also really fucking dirty criminal. But Chicago boys don’t worry much about that. :/

Comment by Chicago Joe | 2008-09-27 20:38:29

I have blogging for a very long time and I have noticed many friendly blogs in major papers. I guess the 7.00 hour people are really gathering up the ex-hillary gang. And, believe it or not, they are doing a good job. What they are doing is bashing Palin- using the old chicago thugs style. What is sad, is that we hated when Hillary was bashed. We hated when they would put items like a nutcracker or put wrinkles all over her faces more to show her age. They made fun at her heckled laugh- and now the ex-hillary supporters are doing the same to Palin. It is sad that I have to see this in many newspaper blogs. And believe it or not, they identify themselves as Hillary supporters, whether or not they are, it is a mystery. Hillary is instructing us to vote for Obama, so, some of the diehard Hillary believe that we are traitors. And they “can’t” understand why we don’t line up with the sheeps. It is a sad day in American where thug style decided our election this year.

I finally figured this out. Previously I wondered why Larry/Susan didn’t institute a type of military dominance a la Daily Kook. They were able to send their goons over here and harass but anyone wanting to voice a sane opinion over there got shut out. Larry himself got shut out there! And we’ve all seen the post that so offended His Daily Kookness! So it’s a military style dictatorship. And as we all know dictatorships can be very effective. And watching these trolls come in here…

But I’ve begun to understand. Outsiders are praising NQ today for its freedom of speech. And that’s what makes it so great and that’s why sites like Daily Kook are doomed to fail. Hitler had great organisation too but he lasted what? Twelve years? ;)

Freedom wins hands down every time!

Soldier, that’s the strategy to get the rest of us on board. They want us to think that all of Hillary’s supporters have joined Barry but it isn’t so. The latest I heard was about 4 million of us are holding steady for McCain or whomever…anyone but Obama. What they don’t count on is that we are not sheep and know who we are…anti-fascist.

I’ve heard that figure too many times and I think it’s very reasonable. And I would not be surprised to know it’s growing. As more and more voters hear about the movement they get inspired by it. ;)

Rezko Singing?

A nasty October surprise for Barry? Maybe he can get a bracelet with Tony Rezko’s name on it (surely he’ll remember that name) and pray to Karl Marx or whatever god he worships that TR keeps his mouth shut.

He can sing out of tune, falsetto, in his native tongue - I don’t care - just sing baby.

Can’t believe that Rezko/Obama/Corruption never took flight. But I’m beginning to think that if Rezko had time to think - meaning singing for a lighter sentence - then justice would prevail. But then the Hillary bashing/stolen votes/stolen convention happened and Rezko got swamped.

Maybe that’s why no one wanted to be The Precious’s VP. Who wants ignominity writ large.

Rezko was wise to ask for custody behind bars. He had a choice but chose handcuffs, and the ’safest’ place from Obama thugs is behind bars.

He is being honest and blaming the democrats for the financial fiasco and sticking up for the republicans who tried to get regulation years ago. He has called McCain a great man and has never said that about ob - who he barely even mentions. He had McCain speak in a place of honor at his Clinton Foundation three day event. He spoke is such glowing terms about the Palins.

He’s Hillary’s biggest fan and is the top ranking person in the Democratic party, sure he’s going to be feeling what we feel. He saw it ALL happen too and he knows way more than we do about what is going on.

The name “Chicago” comes from the indigenous term for “smelly onion” or “skunk.” God bless the people of Chicago, but you are living under the dictatorial stench of Da Mayor!

Elephants on the left and donkeys on the right - And in the center ring it’s pistol beating, money grabbing, bribe taking, garbage cleaning, art snatching, vote stealing and..

Chicago Politics, most interesting politics
The circus is coming to your town
With jerks, buffoons and elephants
From the House of Delegates
And certified administrative clowns

Infrain:
When I was young I must have had a mental embargo
About taking jobs or money for my vote
So when I’m dead please bury me in downtown Chicago
So I can still keep casting my vote (when I’m dead)
I can make up all those years I didn’t vote

In the center ring the fun begins
When pot-hole jumping citizens
Join in and dance with the clowns
There’s a party here - a party there
There’s a three-ring circus everywhere
And political reporters all around

The pooper scopper’s a friend of mine
He’s the precinct captain from 49
He’s got himself a job can’t you see
Vote early - often as you can
Vote absentee then vote again
Here’s a dollar bill - go vote for me

Refrain

Is that recorded somewhere? A clip on YouTube? I seem to remember it.

Good points in the lyrics - about how they milk the unions too. Because they really do. It’s just totally bizarre to see it in action. Actually the first thing you think is ‘bizarre’. Then you wake up and say to yourself: ‘corruption’.

Back to Missouri: The governor’s statement sounds like a partisan political statement. It needs to go further. The AG needs to launch an investigation, get subpoena power, depose Obama. Then we have a story the msm cannot ignore.

No, no. “Da Mayor” title belongs to our own Willie Brown, former SF Mayor and CA Speaker of the House. Once the most powerful man in the state but looking like a saint compared to Daley.

Comment by VRWC - Authoritarian Left Dept. | 2008-09-27 20:34:32

It would be good - and especially for my fellow Republicans - to listen to Steve Diamond when he explains about the Obama-Ayers battle against the Chicago teachers, their union, and ultimately against Daley at that time. See “Obama, Ayers and the Annenberg Challenge: Does Conservative Stanley Kurtz Get It Right?” by Steve Diamond, Global Labor and Politics, Sept. 22, 2008, 10:38 PM , which was cross-posted here at No Quarter.

Diamond says:

The Challenge was radical, but not the right wing’s simplistic view of “radicalism.” Rather it represented an authoritarian and bureaucratic agenda - a desperate attempt to use parents to control teachers through a politically correct curriculum, yes, but more importantly to use them as canon fodder in the battle to control teachers and administrators. This authoritarian approach is entirely consistent with Ayers’ long held political views as he has consistently sided politically with the most undemocratic regimes available, including most recently that of Hugo Chavez in Venezuela.

The Chicago Annenberg Challenge finally ended, and Daley got back control. What we face here seems a combination of bad aspects of the two sides.

And let’s not forget about the cozy relationship between Obama and Daley. Greased through their common friend David Axelrod.

The Daleys never endorse a presidential candidate. Never. Except this time around ‘Little Daley’ is threatened by a reform candidate within his own party.

And it would have been incumbent on Obama’s image to endorse this candidate.

Therefore the months of discussions between Obama and Daley in Daley’s offices. And the result? Obama endorses Daley! And says Daley is a reform candidate and will do an honest job for the people!

And then we can tie in Tom Ayers who was the money in the ‘windy city’ - the ‘gray eminence’ above the Daley machine power. The Exelon thing? And who has this money today? Any guesses? ;)

That will never happen. It is a fantasy.

Here’s my fantasy happy place I go to at times. Biden steps down for medical reasons. Hillary steps in as VP (wait, I know what you’re thinking, it gets better). Then, Obama gets indicted (because we all know that she’d only do it knowing Barky is going down) and Hillary is now running for VP, one month before the election!

This scenario makes me sad for McCain because I like him now, but Hillary is always numero uno.

So if he is telling the truth then New York and Mississippi are voting the same way. Cause of course there are red necks in NYC and Latte Liberals in Old Miss. Ka-ching another person on Obama’s payroll.

“You want to get tough in politics, I can get tough in politics as anyone else. When you start throwing mud, mud is going to be thrown at you and it’s going to be sticky.”

Does that sound to you like someone that is serving the public interest and interested in the highest forms of democracy?

or:

Does it sound like mob tactics?

This is just getting more surreal by the day. THESE are his supporters. You can tell a person by the company they keep.

Thank God Governor Blunt knows the law and has nipped it in the bud. This wasn’t the first nor will it be the last time that Obama tries to take away our civil rights. Stay tuned…….

Comment by VMorris | 2008-09-28 01:06:53

Good for Govenor Blunt. My advice is that he had now better watch his back.

I read somewhere else that Obama is unleashing a truth squad in Pennsylvania too.

What’s next? Are they going to pass a law that it is illegal to not vote for Barack?

A bit of correction….

The truck itself did not have a MUD FLAP loose. It was the Chassis that he was pulling that had a loose step bar on the rear of the “Container”.

The reason the Truck driver was nailed for it was…

1. He did not have a valid License and
2. He never inspected the Chassis when he took the Trailer out of the Rail yard.

That was what REALLY happened!

true…it was Ryan that was in some way responsible for that driver being on the road…but the Rail Road got away relatively easy considering it was their equipment that was defective not the truck drivers!

Pull out of Iraq!

Perhaps the U.S. should pull out of Chicago?

Body count:

In the last six months:

292 killed (murdered) in Chicago;

221 killed in Iraq.

Chicago…. Who Runs it:
Senators: Barack Obama & Dick Durbin

Rep: Jesse Jackson Jr.,

Illinois Gov: Rod Blogojevich,

Illinois House leader Mike Madigan,

Illinois Atty. Gen. Lisa Madigan (daughter of Mike),

Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley (son of Mayor Richard J. Daley)

…..our leadership in Illinois…..all Democrats.

Thank you for the combat zone in Chicago.

Of course, they’re all blaming each other!

Can’t blame Republicans; they’re aren’t any!

State pension fund $44 Billion in debt, worst in country.

Cook County (Chicago) sales tax 10.25% highest in country. (Look ‘em up if you want).

Chicago school system rated one of the worst in the country.

This is the political culture that Obama comes from in Illinois. And he’s gonna ‘fix’ Washington politics for us!

Wake Up America!
