Any political campaign will have personall tasked with addressing these sorts of issues. The difference is in the mission statement. It is specifically to counter slanders in printed & televised media -not personal expression. Also it is non-confrontational, and leaves no question that its functional realm is media vs media. Comparing McCains truth group with Obama’s Truth Squad is like comparing 3-Mile Island to Chernobyl in a debate on Nuclear energy. No matter how many times the argument is made, there simply is no equivalency.

Team O tries to bludgeon anyone that will be critical of Obama.

But I believe that the MSM love affair with Senator Obama was borne more out of their common hatred of all things Clinton.

This was a year tailor-made for the Clintons, whose leadership for much of the 1990s has been obviously proven successful. Even when the Hillary Clinton Health Care initiative failed, its core elements have been proven sound–as witness the parroting of the Obama camp in recent months of those same core elements.

The MSM knew that with the country in veritable shambles, a majority of the electorate would naturally gravitate back to that tried and proven Clinton leadership. Hillary ought to have been the Democratic nominee, and Senator McCain, for all of his own compelling personal record, would not have been a match for the distaff side of the “two-for” who presided over America’s last Golden Age of peace and prosperity.

Thus, the MSM knew long ago that Hillary was bound for the Presidency. And she could not have been stopped by the GOP itself; that Party had been too long mired in George Walker Bush apologia.

So, the MSM played in consort with David Axelrod. The Clintons had to be stopped from within their own party. And there required an African-American candidate, extremely well-funded, to do so. Only then could America’s “first black President” be dismissed as a racist.

There was, of course, throughout the primary campaign, some blatant crossover independent and GOP mischief in making certain that Senator Obama benefitted from those bizarre caucuses and open primaries. All the while, however, save for most African-Americans and the easily impressionable college youth, rank-and-file Democrats continued to vote for Hillary Clinton in droves.

And after Ohio’s primary, it became apparent that the MSM Golden Boy Senator Obama was in very deep trouble. Afterwards, every key battleground state went Hillary’s way. Thus, with eighteen million votes strong–the clear popular majority, despite those silly caucuses–and every key battleground state in her favor, the only way to stop Hillary was to shut down the primary process itself. And naturally the long Clinton-hating team of Pelosi/Kennedy/Dean obliged, themselves aided immeasurably by the MSM itself.

Now, the United States economy is in free-fall. European and Asian economies are hoping to come to the rescue of our own, much as the United States once restored European and Asian economies after World War II.

America’s role in foreign diplomacy has been long in tatters.

Of course, Senator Obama’s camp remains clueless. That his administration will be obviously ineffective, folllowing the ineffectiveness of the leadership of Pelosi and Reid, matters not to the MSM. Nor even that the United States itself follow an irreparable path to self-destruction, much as the USSR did twenty years earlier.

For the MSM, 2008 had nothing whatever to do with John McCain or even Barack Obama. It was all about stopping the Clintons.

Simply proceed to DailyKos or to MyDD. Any comment there which remotely questions the readiness of Senator Obama to lead, or the emptiness of his camp’s dubious solutions is invariably met with derision and invective.

In no other period of United States history could so successful a President as was Bill Clinton be treated so savagely by elements within his own party. DailyKos and MyDD have chosen to disregard eighteen million Democratic primary voters. But of course, their diarists and most of their commentators are all in keeping with the MSM anti-Clinton agenda.

I often wonder, would a President McCain or a President Obama treat the Clintons with more respect? Assuming that the contempt displayed the Clintons throughout the primary process, a contempt ongoing on Obama websites, holds fast, the answer to that is obvious.

But again, neither Senators Obama nor McCain, nor even the ensuing financial collapse of the United States were paramount concerns in the eyes of the MSM. For them–contrary to the will of the American people–2008 was all about stopping the Clintons.

In that, at least, they triumphed. Even if it meant that the United States itself would spiral downward into oblivion.

Today’s truth is tomorrows distrotion and lie.
