Their parents are young. They do not know their history very well. At all. You can’t blame them. But I cannot forgive Barack Obama for stimulating this kind of behavior from Another Time and Another Place. I knew. I knew when I saw his first rally where his Playbook resided. Townhall.com’s Amanda Carpenter wrote September 30, 2008, about the “video circulating on the internet of school-aged children singing in support of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama [that] is rocketing its way around the Internet.”
The Drudge Report linked to the YouTube video declaring “Obama Kids Sing for Dear Leader” Tuesday afternoon drawing much attention to a performance of 22 children, aged 5-12, wearing identical blue Obama shirts singing a 3-minute ode to the Democratic candidate. [No Quarter posted the video and commentary yesterday afternoon; this is a new take on the story.]
The performance was “inspired” by Obama fundraiser and music teacher Kathy Sawada and filmed on a Sunday afternoon in Venice, California.
The video was promoted on Obama’s presidential website in an August 20 post. “What the children and a few adults accomplished in a few hours on a Sunday afternoon embodies the nature of the Obama campaign: its grassroots inspiration, its inclusiveness, its community building,” Obama’s campaign site said of the video.

Election ‘08: Barack Obama calls it “Universal Voluntary Public Service.” We call it a plan for national involuntary servitude. Kennedy asked us what we could do for our country. Obama has ways to make us volunteer.
IBD Series: The Audacity Of Socialism
Sen. Obama’s call to public service is quite different from JFK’s. JFK knew America was already a nation of givers and volunteers, perhaps the most charitable and altruistic nation on Earth. Entities such as the Peace Corps would give Americans an outlet for their kindness and generosity, an opportunity to share what the freest nation on Earth had given them. Obama will force you to share.
Obama’s Orwellian use of the words “universal” and “voluntary” together is an indicator of an antithesis to capitalist society deeply rooted in his socialist associations, education and training. Indeed, in 1996, when he ran for an Illinois state Senate seat, one of his first endorsements was from the Chicago branch of the Democratic Socialists of America.
On the surface, his plan looks just like typical bureaucratic program growth. He wants to expand Americorps to 250,000 slots and double the size of the Peace Corps. He’ll create a Clean Energy Corps to plant trees and otherwise save the Earth. It’s how Obama plans to fill those slots that’s worrisome.
Announcing his plan July 2 at the University of Colorado, he said: “We will ask Americans to serve. We will create new opportunities to serve. And we will direct that service to our most pressing national challenges.” He will make us an offer we can’t refuse.
Obama says that as president he will “set a goal for all American middle and high school students to perform 50 hours of service a year, and for all college students to perform 100 hours of service a year.” What he doesn’t say is that he’ll make such voluntarism compulsory by attaching strings to federal education dollars. The schools will make the kids volunteer. It’s called plausible deniability.
In a commencement speech at Wesleyan University, Obama advised graduates not to pursue the American dream of success, but to serve others.
“You can take your diploma, walk off this stage and chase only after the big house and the nice suits and all the other things that our money culture says you should,” he told the graduates. “But I hope you don’t.”
Don’t be another Bill Gates and amass a fortune making people more productive and successful in their daily lives and giving your countrymen a standard of living the world will envy. Exchange your cap and gown for sackcloth and ashes. Leave your possessions behind and come and follow Obama.
“Fulfilling your immediate wants and needs betrays a poverty of ambition,” he opined. Shame on us for being selfish and buying that SUV built by an autoworker trying to fulfill his family’s immediate wants and needs.
“Our collective service can shape the destiny of this generation,” Obama said. “Individual salvation depends on collective salvation.”
We already have a Salvation Army that is truly a volunteer organization. Collective service and salvation is not a classic definition of voluntarism. What Obama has in mind is to turn America into a socialist version of the old Soviet collectives.
And if your idea of service is to join the military and keep others alive and free, forget about it. And never mind about ROTC on campus.
Obama has no place for those who are willing to abandon fame and fortune to lay down their lives for their friends and ours. “At a time of war,” Obama says, “we need you to work for peace.”
“We left corporate America, which is a lot of what we’re asking young people to do,” Obama’s wife, Michelle, told a group of women in Zanesville, Ohio, during the primaries. “Don’t go into corporate America. . . . Become teachers. Work for the community. Be social workers. Be a nurse. Those are the careers we need, and we’re encouraging people to do just that.”
Don’t be the engineers who will figure out better ways to extract shale oil from the porous rock that holds it. Figure out how to extract more money from taxpayers’ wallets.
But the Obamas are doing more than “encouraging” or “asking.” In a speech in California, Michelle, who has made a small fortune in the “helping industry,” said: “Barack Obama will require you to work. He is going to demand that you shed your cynicism. That you come out of your isolation, that you move out of your comfort zone. . . . Barack Obama will never allow you to go back to your lives as usual — uninvolved, uninformed.”
But America is not a nation of selfish, self-serving people. Social demographer Arthur Brooks once calculated that Americans volunteered 32% more than Obama’s beloved Germans. We also donate seven times more money to charities and causes than the Germans who gathered in Berlin.
In talking about his national service, Obama, the man who seems to be running for “community organizer in chief,” also made this startling statement:
“We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.”
This is an idea worthy of Hugo Chavez.
Northwestern University law professor James Lindgren has estimated that this civilian national security force alone would cost somewhere between $100 billion and $500 billion, or between 10% and 50% of all federal tax receipts. And that doesn’t include the cost of the brown shirts.
Adults are not exempt from all this, even adults who’ve already served in the U.S. military. “People of all ages, stations and skills will be asked to serve,” Obama says. Will they be asked, or drafted?
“The future of our nation depends on the soldier at Fort Carson,” he concedes. “But it (also) depends on the teacher in East L.A., the nurse in Appalachia, the after-school worker in New Orleans . . .” So drop down and give Sgt. Obama 50 hours.
Require. Demand. Never allow. Obama’s version of “voluntary” service is more appropriate for Havana than middle America. He wants to turn America’s students, and even adults, into clones of Elian Gonzalez, compelled to serve the state in ways Obama “will direct.”
And when did Sen. Obama perform his volunteer work? What services has he rendered to this nation, without pay and outside of working hours? What were the charitable donations on his tax forms for the past five years?
Ditto for his lovely wife.

JFK recognized his mistake in allowing the Bay of Pigs invasion to go forward without air support..which doomed it to failure.
JFK’s mistake was Bay of Pigs. He wanted to look tough on communism since he had used that in the campaign, changed Eisenhowers existing plan and came close to starting a nuclear war. He made another with meeting with Khrushchev without preconditions, and he knew it when he walked out of that meeting (sound familiar?) Barry wants to sit down with A-ma-whack-a-job as JFK did, but Barry didn’t tell the rest about that meeting and how it went when he sited that meeting as a precedent for sitting down and talking to hostile leaders. JFK made plenty of mistakes, he was human afterall, but they were early on and he learned from them.

If it creates doubt in them and causes them to change their mind, they will talk to others. Remember the movie, “Pay It Forward?”
We have the whole month of October before the election. That’s like a lifetime in politics.
Don’t let fear paralyze you and do not underestimate the power of the truth.
Talk to people that you get on the phone with for customer service calls. Plant a seed before you hang up.
I will say to Customer Service Reps, “Hey, I’m just curious — what do you think about Obama?”
If they are unsure or like him (most people are not as involved as we are and really don’t know much about him, except what the media says.) ask them if you can send them a little something, via e-mail, about Obama.
Just copy and past your boilerplate e-mail onto a new message and send it to them.
Or take information with you to the store.
Print it out - with links to the truth about Obama.
Hand them out to people in the line at the grocery store, or while you’re waiting in line at the DMV, or wherever.
Just start up a conversation and say, “Hey,what do you think about Obama?”
Before you leave, hand them a sheet with information on it.
Don’t be afraid to speak up. This election is about our Freedom!
You and I are ordinary people talking to ordinary people.
Believe me, it’s powerful.

I heard a Holocaust survivor on talk radio today, saying how much this reminds him of Germany under Hitler. It was very a very moving memory, and extremely frightening at the same time. Not to mention that Quinnipac is not the most reliable poll or CNN for that matter. They are not polling agencies, and they have a bias.

The good American folk we see at his rallies look no different than those during the singing of Tomorrow Belongs To Me. That is exactly what Obama is doing to America and we, at least the majority of us, are here to see that it doesn’t happen to the American people. My grandfather’s entire family was killed in concentration camps. In fact, one was returned to Poland because customs agents were afraid a cut on his foot would become infected and bring disease. All I can say is that the loss is obvious in every aspect of himself. To compare him to Hitler is absolutely in the right. I’m a 3rd generation democrat…at least. I grew up w/my mom & grandparents. These are very headstrong Democrats.
I was a kid when Nixon was president. For some weird reason I was obsessed with presidents. I could name each president, in order, their names and birthdays when I was like 5 years old. I respected the office of the presidency, even though I had no concept of what that meant. Nixon, don’t laugh, looked like a sweet old grandpa to me. I couldn’t understand the “impeach Nixon” signs. That hurt me. How can people treat the PRESIDENT that way? My family hated what Nixon did and wanted him gone. My mother had gone back to college and saw how people were being treated on campuses.
What did my family do or say? Nothing, they just thought I was cute. They never tried to influence me or push politics on me. I didn’t know how they felt then, my mother just told me that Nixon did some things that he shouldn’t have and some people don’t want him to be president anymore.
Thank you mom & grandparents for loving me enough to know that I was too young to care or even comprehend.

The obama/hitler “art” is incredibly offensive and has no place on this or any site (and yes, I am a Jew with family members whose lives were ripped apart by the Nazis).

I found myself defending my home country against very superficial and judgemental views.
Like “those Germans are all Nazi, always have been, always will be”.
From people that have maybe served in the US Army overseas, but mostly have never been in Germany and never talked to a German. Knowledge provided by Hollywood.
I don’t know why in this country it is okay to throw a whole country under the bus, but the same people are tip-toeing through the elections afraid of being called a racist.

We are in the Air Force, and we certainly don’t think of Germany that way, (my husband and I), I can assure you. Actually I don’t know a single person, military or not, that feels that way. So hopefully you have encountered an unfortunate few and not the norm. Our fear, with a very long list of Obama “truth squads” popping up, calling law enforcement in Mo and asking them to threaten with prosection any ad rather it be from a campaign or a 527 group as slander to silence it, rather it is actually telling the truth or not, a sign of exactly what you described. No free speech zone. A tyranny. And we are only in a campaign. If we aren’t careful, we will arrive there. The reason the 1st ammendment works is because we hold it precious, there is nothing else keeping it in place, Obama does not hold it precious, that’s why he is getting away with what he is doing. Legally he can do it. There are multiple examples of this happening. Silence the opposition. THat coupled with videos like these and many other signs sounds an alarm ringing in our heads. We have to be careful and vigiliant, or we will lose what we hold most dear.

my husband was in the Air Force too, in Vietnam.
Yesterday I ran into this post from a guy that claimed to know how Germans felt then and now.
I quote him: “… a race of people who blindly followed a fanatic power hungry dictator…I guess there are still a large number of Germans who are still having that same worn out dream.”
He was stationed in Germany 1957, 13-24 years after the Nazis and 51 years before today.
I was just questioning how he can know what Germans feel, because I grew up in the American Sector of Berlin and know that GIs did not have so much contact with Germans. And he was there during the “Wirtschaftswunder”.
That was a total different time. Since he was refering to that YouTube clip from the movie “Cabaret”.
Of course he did not answer my comment but went on about Concentration Camps etc., like I wanted to defend the Nazis.
I should really not take this serious, because some people just want to hate.

I was really upset, and wrote this one here. I really love NQ.
My point was never understood.
History is far more complex than those simplified comments.
Germany was a young republic, before WWI we were a monarchy.The Weimar Republic was not functioning.
We had extreme debts from the Versailles contract. There was the great depression.
And along came Hitler and took advantage.
The rest is history.
That said, of course Obama has a similar advantage.
The country is in debts, the economy is in crisis, the gouvernment (Bush) is rejected by the people.
Also he has the media on his side. And lots of money.
And he has no problem with cheating his way to the White House. No honor.
One other thought, why do you think all the tyrants in the world support Barrack Obama? They think he’s weak? Or that we will be their ally? Or they know their own kind when they see it? To me the reason doesn’t matter. Just that they support him shoould send us running in the other direction. Hillary would never have gotten an endorsement from Iran. They wouldn’t have been happy with either her or John McCain. And I would be sleeping alot better than I am.

Maybe if people had recognized them and stopped Hitler from gaining power then the Holocaust would never had happened. Just to be clear bss: I’m not saying Obama’s going to be setting up extermination camps. I’m saying you need to open your eyes to very scary red flags: propaganda-type posters, strong-arming at caucuses, extreme leftist stance, infiltrating the internet, Obama Camp, The truth squads, voter intimidation (calling supporters to ‘get up in faces’), speeches laced with repeated calls for hope and change, questionable associates with violent and/or criminal pasts, youth hordes at his command, hijacking the democratic party, belonging to a separatist minority(black separatists in Obama’s case)and followers like you who no matter what will follow because that’s what he tells them to do. The comparisons to Hitler have to do with the above red flags. He has dictator qualities and although I have hope the country won’t fall under a dictatorship, he may just bring back a McCarthy era of persecution which may be fine for some, but not for me.
