Obama gaffe: ” I succeeded in a way I could not exceed anywhere else in this country.” He should have said “world,” not “country.” But then again, the world citizen probably views the world as his country. Why else does he desire to invade Pakistan unilaterally?

Not that I want to jump the shark but I find it odd that ABCNews latest Poll of Presidential Candidates DOES NOT INCLUDE HISPANICS.

Explain to me why this Flash Model doesn’t have the Hispanic Vote.

Obama always ends on an egotistical, self-centered theme, about himself, his great (yawn) struggles about being raised by a PhD world traveling mom and bank vice president grandma, etc.

Comment by Brendy | 2008-10-07 21:56:47

Yeah – how they had to use ‘food stamps’ to put food on the table. What’s a PhD mom and a vice-president of a bank grandma who lives in ONE OF THE MOST EXPENSIVES PLACES – not only in the country – but the WORLD doing using ‘food stamps’? I’ve come from VERY poor beginnings and NONE OF US have EVER been on ANY kind of welfare. I’ve always found his statements about his ‘poor me’ childhood extremely offensive!

Still, people will vote for him becasue he’s a ’smooth talker’ and ‘looks’ presidential (to them, NOT ME) – to heck with his shady background and his lack of experience.

Comment by jackie | 2008-10-07 22:02:55

I want proof of the food stamps.

Comment by wonderwoman | 2008-10-07 22:24:17

I think food stamps a pretty much custom if there are alot of kids involved.

Comment by Typical White Sweetie | 2008-10-07 23:48:40

Following Obama’s recent dumb comment about small town Americans clinging to guns and religion, he defended himself by claiming that the notion of elitist is absurd because of his poor upbringing. He said that his mother was on food stamps, so how could he be an elitist in his upbringing?

Here is the Time article written by Joe Klein in 2006, long before Obama decided to run for president. Back then, he was seen as the rising star within Democratic Party, and he didn’t worry about critics breathing down his neck.

Here is the key excerpt from the article:

“For example, I was going to a fancy prep school, and my mother was on food stamps while she was getting her Ph.D.”

That is what Obama said. He went to a fancy private school that today costs $15,000 per yearr — and his mother was studying for a Ph.D.
http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1546302,00.html
Students often receive food stamps as part of the educational-financial-government-money package — doesn’t mean “they are poor.”

Re-reading the above, it occurred to me that a double-divorcee and her son, in these circumstances, were doing quite well — doing some dancin’ — but doing well — they certainly had futures.

Comment by MoniQue | 2008-10-07 22:40:27

It’s called ripping off the government. Obama’s mama lied about her income to get those food stamps. Same mentality of Obama and his chicaaaaago machine. You know, America OWES Obama [in HIS mind].

Comment by Typical White Sweetie | 2008-10-08 00:02:18

OBAMA’S MOTHER WAS GIVEN FOOD STAMPS AS PART OF HER GRADUATE SCHOOL PACKAGE,

BUT CHECK OUT THE YEAR SHE GOT THEM…1992

HE WAS GONE FROM HAWAII FOR 13 YEARS BY THEN AND OFF ON HIS OWN IN COLLEGE(S) AND JOBS SPONSORED BY BILLY AYERS

I actually don’t think he can separate reality from fiction, which is typical of Narcissistic Personality Disordered individuals such as he.

Jacques,
If I remember correctly, Sen Obama said that his grandmother was financially struggling as she raised him…

His grandmother was a bank vice president.
How much could she and Sen Obama’s grandfather have struggled financially?

I wish I knew more about his grandfather however, and why he moved his family around so much and what made him move to Hawaii.

Also, I would love to know the career path of two of the five most important women in Sen Obama’s life- his mother and grandmother.

His mom worked in microfinance positions (setting up banking infrastructure programs in asia inc. Indonesia, pakistan, and other countries. She had a Ph.D.

His grandmother was a bank VP.

Now, look at the time period we are talking about- the 1970’s-1990’s I think.

How unusual is it for women to be so well-educated and have accomplished so much in their lives yet…Sen Obama almost NEVER discusses these two remarkable women. Why not?

Learn more about Sen Obama’s mother:

http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,1729524-2,00.html

By the way, what is a woman living on food stamps doing studying Russian in college. Read Time article. Sen Obama’s mother met Sen Obama’s bio dad during her first semester at the University of hawaii. Both were in the same Russian language class.

Truthteller, you will get a kick out of this!!!

Finally, finally on Fox News there is someone (Dick Morris, yuck) who is making the case that the problem with Barry’s association with William Ayers is because of the radical views on education that Ayeres espouses and the fact that Ayers put Barry in charge of the $50 million grant.

He is calling it “connections to radical policy”.

Finally, someone is talking about education and Ayers and Obama.

Comment by Goblintrain | 2008-10-07 23:57:09

Bob Beckell & Dick Morris need to find new sewers to roam. Why does FNC keep inviting these creepy, slimy, bloated smelly things back to their shows? Who really wants to listen to those two bloated eels vomit on themselves again?

The Obama doctrine: “If we could have stopped Rwanda…That would be something we would have to strongly consider and act.”

“So when genocide is happening…and we stand idly by, that diminishes us.”

” And so I do believe that we have to consider it as part of our interests in intervening where possible.”

Translation: If people are being slaughtered, we can think about protecting them if it suits our interests other wise we might look bad.

Not exactly Churchillian! What a mealy-mouthed, namby-pamby!

Yep, I’d love that. She’s doing well on the stump. I watche dtoday how she kicked ass today when a heckler interrupted her. She said something along the lines:

And she didn’t even missed a beat.

slow and steady wins the race.

It was boring though.

Questions were awful.

The audience looked like a bunch of prisoners with guns to their heads when they stood up to ask questions.

Comment by Goblintrain | 2008-10-07 23:09:28

When i was still in elementary school, i read a news story of a refrigeration plant in China that had the grave misfortune of attracting the government’s attention for inefficiency. The military executed 50 of the plants senior personnel in front of the watching workers, as a motivational lesson to improve productivity.

Having seen the format of tonight’s debate, the week questions, and Tom’s incompetence as a moderator, i can’t help but would have happened if this debate had been held in China too? Would some public execution improve future debates? :=P

Comment by athy | 2008-10-07 23:42:48

Jeremiah, I was watching the debate on C Span and I got a little annoyed (and I think so did the C Span camera person judging by how he/she tried to position the camera).

There was one women in the audience who sat to the left of the floor (closest to Sen obama) who kept smiling and nodding her head throughout the debate and the camera person was trying to portray objectivity so it appeared he/she went out of way to avoid capturing this woman’s face on tape however the angle was a tough one so this woman’s head nodding, and broad smiling almost every time Sen Obama spoke was a little annoying.
I wonder if she was a plant in the audience to make Sen Obama look good…like he had the audience’s full support and they were eating out of the palm of his hand…

Comment by jackie | 2008-10-07 22:20:58

I agree. I would have liked McCain to be a little more direct but I liked the concepts. Krauthammer thinks McCain won on points but loved the “hangrenades McCain launched inthe room” talking about the Mortgage help.

It was very FDR/Hillary and what McCain proposed almost 3 weeks ago the same day as Hillary did.

I want her as the Majority Leader in the Senate and McCain as Prez. McCain has nothing to prove so he will simply do the right thing and she would be there to see it through.

Comment by No Obama for me | 2008-10-07 22:31:17

LA Musing,

I totally agree, it was BORING, AND THAT IS WHAT DRUDGE SAYS.

It was Brokaw that set the stage. He’s old and been out of the game too long.

I probably won’t watch the next one at all. Bob Schieffer is older than Brokaw. Who chose these old

I listen on the radio. I agree that Obama was pissed — he was faced with someone who disagreed with him and who does not idolize him.

Since I grew up in Hawaii I can often recognize traces of words said in “da kine” way.

Obama started out trying to sound black — but a few words slipped out with as said (pronounced) in Hawaii.

Of course Obama lied — he always slips in that he was brought up less well off then was the reality. Mom on food stamps?? When the hell was that– probably only in his mind.

I missed the beginning of the debate — but McCain certainly won the second of.

McCain the Honu (turtle).

This debate was terrible. I thought it would be in the format of the 1992 second debate (which I watched today on CSPAN, I forgot how good Bill Clinton was). Not a lot of audience reaction. Too much of the debate were like condensed campaign speeches, instead of real connection with voters. Neither McCain or Obama seem to speak compassionately about complex issues, the way Reagan, Bill, and Hillary are able to do.

I think one moment that will hurt Obama is when his ‘bomb Iran’ song insult on McCain backfired when McCain responded.

Steve, the campaigns have zero control over the debates. They can have some limited input, on rather they are sitting or standing, how long to answer questions, but its the debate commission who decides who moderates, the campaigns have no choice. They can ask for things, doesn’t mean they will get it.

The townhall ‘debate’ format?

I’d prefer a root canal to sitting through a repeat of this episode this evening.

Who won?

If you’re a partisan watcher, you didn’t change your position tonight. You’re voting for your guy (or in my case my Chick) no matter what.

For the independent voters, if you weren’t snoring before the last 10 minutes of this “debate”, you were obviously doing something other than “watching” the “debate”. :-)

The biggest winner tonight is Michelle Obama. If Obama is elected President, she’s going to run the country and train her husband at the same time.

Such blessings are just too much. Honestly, we really don’t want that kind of blessing.

What did we learn tonight?

The government invented the computer and Al Gore invented the internet. I love it when things are neatly packaged.

“Screened” American voters asking question is highly overrated. Not one of these people thought to ask about Tony Rezko, William Ayers, or anything else?? If the questions were “screened”, I would’ve just added the question.

Tom Brokaw is horrible without a teleprompter.

Michelle Obama is such an expert at the Presidency that Barack will ask her to help with his OTJ (On the Job) training. We’re all enthusiastic about this possibility, huh?? (You’re allowed to groan now!)

My concluding thought?

TIHS ELECTION SEASON CANNOT BE OVER SOON ENOUGH!

Republican Chick said “THIS ELECTION SEASON CANNOT BE OVER SOON ENOUGH,” and I would concur, since I still have a few patient family members and old friends who will still talk to me (Oborgs all), and by the time Nov. 4th rolls around, I will be all by myself with pee-stains on my underwear, waiting for the New Regime’s Thought Police to haul me away to The Facility where the nasty old PUMA thoughts are scrubbed away and replaced with Happy O-Rainbows and twittering cartoon Bluebirds of O-Happiness.

Or maybe they’ll just march me out behind the hopey-changey bandwagon and put a bullet through my head.

Rc…you have the best line of the night with Barky and Meeechelle…LOL…I think so many people expected McCain to attack extremely that it was kind of a let down for some…gloves off machismo…
I think McCain did 2 interesting things…GOP has controlled what people talk about ( mostly what is comin out of Palin’s mouth ) and he has got Barky wondering what he’s got to defend next…In other words John McCain is living rent free in Barky’s head…lol…and that is usually when opponents start to make big mistakes…Hmmmm….

No true words!

This election season cannot be over soon enough!

Obama is a bu** shi* artist. He reminds me of student’s answers to essay tests when they have absolutely no idea what the answer is so they bu** shi* and go on and on and on and on.

I agree. This was not really a debate. and it was not the town hall format I was expecting. I have seen Johnny at one of his town halls and he is really great at answering questions, even from detracters (sp?). A big disappointment. maybe it will be better on the second viewing, but I learned nothing.

I thought it was pretty even, except for where McCain tied Obama to Fannie and Freddie. But he needed to do more. He needed to tell how Obama still thinks giving mortgages to people who cannot afford them is a “good idea”.

Obama had another “I have a badge too!” moment when said to the Navy Chief “I also respect your service”.

Coming from Obama it sounds so lame.

Comment by workingclass artist | 2008-10-07 22:14:25

as we say in Texas…Sheeeit! Barky spent 1/2 the debate either repeating a variation of what John McCain said or agreeing with him…Just like with Hillary…Grrrrrr!!!!

WE know that OVomit is a lying sack of shit but if Mccain treats him like an honorable opponent…….
OVomit will lie through his teeth and be the creep he is
He MUST be destroyed
McCain cannot allow him to run roughshod, which is, sadly, what I think Obama did

Mac seemed a bit nervous when the debate began…his breathing was very audible in the microphone. He seemed to loosen up as things went along. I thought he finished strong.

Barky has obviously gotten some coaching and is channeling Hillary on his health care stuff.

The one thing that stood out to me was when nobama said something about our youth having to become involved in the military!? Is he referring to some sort of youth para-military organization?

Comment by LAMusing | 2008-10-07 22:11:08

Obama has said there should be a civilian security service, as large and as funded as the military, to tend to our security needs at home.

There are videos on You Tube, and maybe a link around here, too.

He wants his own army, I think.

He scares me more than any politician in this country ever has.

Comment by Susan | 2008-10-07 21:53:47

I listened to the debate during big chuncks of it to see if I would interpret it differently. The questions were stale; the answers were ones that I had heard before.

Obama seemed to decide to ignore the clock and talk and talk and talk…

McCain had better release the “WHITEY” tape right away or he’s going to loose this due to the economy.

Comment by slobodaneee | 2008-10-07 23:22:53

I think they both were cautioned about the clock. You are also right, McCain needs the whitey tape now. Come on its October. By the way, if there is no tape released before election day will those of you who spouted hatred at Michelle Obama apologize?

McCain lost the election tonight A. He did OK. You can tell he feels MUCH more comfortable on foreign policy. McCain’s time was eight year ago when national security was at the forefront. He and his cohorts most definitely have no clue on the economic issues. He should have chosen Romney instead of going for the gimmicks. Judgement… he’s history.

Sorry to burst your bubble McBush, but I work in healthcare and I process this stuff everyday. As much as everyone wants a national healthcare, it will not work and will result in less doctors, substandard healthcare for all. I know that my doctor has already said that should Obama become president, he is retiring and so are many of his partners. They said they can’t afford to practice under Barky. And they won’t give out substandard healthcare, and let the government dictate what can be covered and what can’t be like it is with Medicare. McCain is right on healthcare, not Obama.

FLUSH O’BARKY!

Who wants a whiny baby as a president anyway? He cries racism for anything that doesn’t go his way.

Except I noticed he does a lot of crank, he’s really pencil thin–and that’s coming from a skinny chick like me. the ONLY way he’s so pathetically thin is HE’S DOING DOPE. I’m surprised no one is noticing that.

National policy was not at the forefront 8 years ago. It was prior 9/11. and this will be a referendum on Obama. The same thing it started out as. I am not sure who will win, but if I go by polls I would say McCain. republicans are never as far down in a poll as they are protrayed to be, ever. There is a lot of poll cooking to try to suppress republican vote. Republicans learned their lesson in 2000. And Zogby is the only one that got it right in 2004. he has obama up 2. Its going to be close.

How many budgets has Obama ever done…oh right..none. His vast experience would truly be helpful in running the biggest economy in the world. He still needs training wheels.

McCain certainly had a clue about the economy when he was telling everyone years ago that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac needed regulation. Obama just had his hand out accepting more bribes..um I mean contributions from them.

Comment by MoniQue | 2008-10-07 23:00:18

McBush, you might want to do a little research on the economy Romney was in charge of in Massachusettes. He did not do Massachusettes well. The only reason the media claims Romney is some economic whiz is his pulling it out for the olympics and because he was a business man.

But he did NOT turn the economy around for the state he governed. Huckabee, however, DID for his state of Arkansas.

As for economics, Obama knows nothing, period, end of story. And your igornance of economics is showing. You’re just parroting what the media believes.

Comment by McBush | 2008-10-07 23:37:01

I didn’t get to watch the debate. When I walked in the door, I asked my husband if I should watch the re-run and he said I’d probably have more fun reading an IRS manual. I gather it was real snoozer?

You know what’s probably wrong? We just had exciting debates with Hillary and a fabilous debate with Sarah Palin. Women are the life of the party. Take them out of the equation and everything becomes flat and boring, LOL.

Keep the faith people. Old age an treachery beats youth and a big mouth everytime.

Comment by lark | 2008-10-07 21:57:56

I think McCain was not able to convince that tax cuts and smaller government would be the only way out of our financial crisis. He said it many times but in a tepid kind of way.

Obama was at the top of his form. A very good communicator. He was wrong but was strong in the way he approached his wrong answers.

Of the 90 minutes, mostly 88 were wasted. The last two minutes turned out to be imo the most important.

Obama said clearly that he is intended in changing the country. Not government, not policy but the country. Obama insinuated that we would need to accept the painful prescriptions he will throw at us.

McCain on the other hand simply said he will give us more of the same. The same America we love and know and are bless with, he will keep it for us and for our children.

Again Obama will change our country into one we will not be able to recognize. Unfortunately I think that’s what probably a large group of people here would want. Many others that will be voting for Obama, they can’t read between the lines, so they will be caught by surprise.

God save America.
Nothing else will.

Comment by workingclass artist | 2008-10-07 22:24:26

Yeah…I noticed that too. McCain kept telling folks to look at their records…translation go to the internet and find out yourself…If folks do that then they know how to compare…I thought him saying that Barky votes with his party was telling…Because even staunch democrats are disgusted with Pelosi et al…
All in all it was pretty staid…and the ONLY NEW POLICY ADDITION WAS MCCAIN’S…SO FOLKS WILL BE TAKING ABOUT THAT

Comment by kat in your hat | 2008-10-07 21:58:46

That comment stood out for me also and I wondered the same thing. What is he talking about?

All in all, I thought by the end of the debate McCain had done better primarily because he can be brief and Obama was a none stop talker. what does it take to shut the guy up? Brokow should have cut him off.

Comment by AnninCA | 2008-10-07 22:01:50

There were very few new points made, and both of them repeated the same words from the first debate, which was much better than this one. The newest idea was McCain’s mortgage idea. Loved that one.

Policy focus only. John was careful to not be too forceful, and no fireworks on character issues.

I thought it was a waste of time to watch, frankly, and neither of them looked good. Obama stumbled over his words in that painful manner of his. John repeated himself too often.

I give them both a C.

Comment by Rah-Rah | 2008-10-07 22:02:01

I had class and did not get to see the debate. However, driving home after class, people were phoning in to the local talk-radio station (more liberal than conservative)and they all felt that McCain did better. One caller said that Obama seemed distracted and
off-topic, while McCain was more focused.

Just a little perspective from Austin.

Comment by Paul3triple | 2008-10-07 22:02:03

all the folks in the press are focusing on a death blow. For Mac to attack obama in this setting ferociously would have been a deathblow to him.
He needs to boost his support on the economy.
He also stuck obama several times. When he asked obama what the fine for his healthcare would be he admitted there would be a fine but not the amount. Mac shot back,”did he say how much the fine is?
Really it was a crappy townhall. They may as well just had a normal debate.
I think mccain set the message right though. He cleaned obama’s clock on taxes. His Mortage plan is smart. If we do not find a bottom in the housing market, the bottom will fallout everywhere else as well.
Overall i think he did good. I also think he did not need to destroy obama. He caught him with alot of good shots and made the case he is a steady guide for the coutry. His closing statement was also extremely touching.
A stark contrast from obama who always says he knows best.
Mccain admitted to relying on others help and love and courage of americans.
Mccain did a good job. Obama lied several times.

Like I said we have to take the debate sposorship away from the two parties. An independent Commission where its members are voted upon by each state?? Something which will give the people more control? We need to do away with corporate MSM moderators, yes sometype of guideline for questions but no more censorship! This was a farse!

I hate to say this, Tom Brokow retired from NBC and has been some kind of senior advisor. It was a terribel debate, not because of answers, but because of the questions. They were nothing but campaign talking points. McCain would have been better off if he just held one of his own townhall meetings. Don’t count McCain out yet. The 527’s, the RNC and McCain’s real attack adds are just starting.

Obama’s position on Pakistan alone makes him wholly unelectable. Evidently “Change” is a code word for taking the unprecedented step of invading a country with the bomb. Since I’m still young enough to be of military use and have regional language skills and expertise, an Obama presidency virtually ensures my next vacation will land me somewhere in the vicinity of Waziristan. Cheers.

Comment by lark | 2008-10-07 22:19:13

Right. That is very stupid of Obama to say he will do whatever he would please in the open knowing full well that Pakistan can use atomic weapons against Afghanistan and Iraq.

Comment by Karma | 2008-10-07 22:29:33

Yup….he cases on Bush for a preemptive war.

While demanding he can do the same in a country with nukes.

Uh oh on the forced vacation…but it fits in with Michelle’s warning about never being able to return to your comfy life as you know it.

Best part: McCain shaking hands and patting the back of the military gentleman to thank him for his service- that was very touching to me. Anyone happen to catch Obama when he spoke about his mom and her cancer?, with all due respect, – he made a remark that attested to the fact she was denied coverage and passed on without assistance, he placed an indirect word towards the incompetency of hospitals. As an anthropologist, would she have had been previously covered?; he said she was on food stamps- which was is it- that was confusing. I also noticed his words about Africa and setting up a system of rewards- now how would he know that without being there?

Comment by Steve1 | 2008-10-07 22:19:02

That was very funny…he didn’t even visit her on her death bed?

Comment by lark | 2008-10-07 22:26:42

Not funny at all. That issue of his mother fighting with the insurance company for coverage was probably what threw Barry way to the left, socialist and communist forever. He was obviously traumatized by it. He repeats it and repeats it. He will never forgive them. And if he gets to be President, he will destroy them.

Comment by Patricia | 2008-10-07 23:20:34

What threw Barry to the left is being a straw man for Bill Ayers and the socialists who have set him up to run for President. Did you see Hannity’s America on Sunday Night? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h1TAnDcQyjA&feature=related

Comment by lark | 2008-10-07 22:23:02

In those days, it is true that people would need to argue with their insurance company about coverage even when they were in the hospital. The admissions process and other things were not like today. They would literally throw you out if you couldn’t get your insurance to pay. Today is different. The hospital deal directly with the insurance company.

The “liberal media” spin begins:
Obama Leaves Nashville Intact

McCain spent much of the evening trying to define Obama on his terms, but never broke all the way through.

Mark Halperin’s grades:
Obama: B+
McCain: B
thepage.time.com/2008/10/07/game-on-20/

They are shameless. You tell mccain ‘never broke all the way through’ by the way obama kept saying ‘let me answer that tom’ in desperate attempt word fog away points mccain made.

Comment by Uña de Gato | 2008-10-07 22:05:56

Brokaw did a lousy job picking the questions and moderating the debate. this debate was a real snoozer, so of course it helps Obama (the media will say), because McCain did not turn into the Incredible Hulk and bust up the place. The whole contrivance of the townhall format completely squelched any chance to get to know these candidates. It was all policy wonk crap that we have heard a million times before. At one point I thought Obama was just reciting random parts of his campaign website. McCain got in a couple jabs, but did not hit a knock out punch.

Obama did get all flustered when he petulantly demanded a response and then started describing himself as green behind the ears. Did he just mention his ears? Lord, what a doofus! McCain should have said, “Well, Senator, I never criticized your ears, just your fondness for earmarks.” Unfortunately, McCain missed a lot of opportunities to slam Obama with some humor and wit.

Comment by FranSC | 2008-10-07 22:07:02

Obama was calm and cool because he had nothing to prove. Although McCain’s delivery was lacking as usual, he was surely more substantive in my book and kept ‘the one’ on the defensive.

Early on, I thought McCain was very effective in pointing out why we have the sub-prime collapse and how Mr. I-do-not-accept-contributions-from-lobbyists received more money from his buddies at Fannie & Freddie than any other congressman after being there 3 short years.

Comment by voteamerican | 2008-10-07 22:08:01

I agree with old Shiefer, there was no winner on substance, and tomorrow all we will hear about is how disrespectful McCain was toward Obama. They have already set the stage for that. Myself, I don’t think it’s possibile to be disresectful to Obama. He doesn’t have any respect coming.

Let me get this straight; McCain wants the US government to purchase all of the bad mortgages out there, increase defense spending, stay in Iraq, go to war for Israel and cut taxes across the board. The US government just announced that the deficit this year was almost 500 billion $ this year. What is it going to be if McCain becomes President? 1 trillion $ a year?

Because we know the rotten truth about Obama, most on here pratically wanted to see McCain punch Obama in the face on national television.

It’s frustrating to see such an inexperienced, sleazy, crooked presidential candidate get a free ride from the MSM while the more decent, wise & experienced candidate gets crapped on.

Which is why it will be EXTREMELY important for usthe people – to get the truth out to the mainstream public about Obama before it’s too late. And stop waiting on the MSM to do it.

We all know the problem. Nobama is always a better talker, while John McCain is a better doer, for we know What Nobama Talks, Nobama never will do.

This was a very slow, non active debate.

Obama was good on healthcare issues, Mackie good on security and even on economy.

The ending statement was definitively a win for Mackie and the Israel issue, a no contest win for Mackie. In fact, Nobama was even diplomatically legally evasive in his answer.

Did you hear Nobama say that he would not have time on his first term for finishing or following through a specific policy?.
How humble of him!!!!
Still, I had to drink coffee.
I hope the next one, both should put on their gloves.

Comment by AnninCA | 2008-10-07 22:17:29

I don’t think either of them won either debate, frankly.

It’s just a balanced way to get the gist of both of their platforms, minus their spin, and helps voters decide.

Anyone undecided at this stage is not about “liking.” There is some policy sticking point that is making them uncomfortable.

Between a rock and a hard spot…..

What I learned from the debate according to Obama

A bunch of government people invented the computer.

Health Care is a Right.

We must bomb Pakistan and kill Bin Laden without finding him first.

Israel should not expect our help if attacked by Iran

Obama still has not said where the money is coming from to do all he plans

Obama will stop the war in Iraq, but move all our troops to Pakistan and Afghanistan thereby starting his own war, a new one not the old tired one that Bush has our military at now…Obama’s war.

We must make Obama President so he can continue on his American dream, give him my vote for his dream not ours.

Yes. I’m wondering when the OBorg will start screaming that we Do The Math, and start up the endless drumbeat for McCain to simply concede before the election. Just like Hillary. Time to trot out the same “It’s over” meme. Remember Obama has never attained his offices through a fair election. The only way he “wins” is by getting himself virtually uncontested on the ballot. Hence, it must be time to have McCain declared mentally unfit (as the lowlifes constantly insinuate) or get the OBorg to scream enough times that it’s over in order to clear the field for the least qualified candidate of all time. I’m surprised Nancy Pelosi isn’t promising to get the electoral college to vote before the election or she’ll do it herself.

Nothing against the PC but why does he want all of our people to go help other countries before we help ourselves.
I think many of the people at the forum were so bored they had no idea who won so they just voted with the majority.

Comment by SJ | 2008-10-07 22:40:02

Comment by jackie | 2008-10-07 22:57:55

Yes he did.

My brother spent time in Central Africa trying to assess how to deal with the crap like Darfur.

We can’t. There is not enough support world wide to deal with Sudan. If we put soldiers in Darfur it is next to impossible to supply them. Stratecically we would be in a terrible fix and the loss of thousands of men and women would achieve nothing unless we force a regime change. But to do that we must recognize that the Arabs & Islam is the problem there. And we damned well better have a clue how to replace an African government. The tribal issues are huse and nearly insurmountable.

As much as we dislike the Iraq war–it made several strategic changes in the Middle East. We cannot undo Iraq we must deal with the mess we have there now. Stabalizing the country is paramount.

The lesson we must learn is when we commit troops the whole nation must be committed and we do so with Overwhelming force on the ground.

Many Hillary supporters are stronger this time around. This is deja vu for us.

We heard this same ignorant s— you posted above being said about Hillary during the primary. The stupid MSM kept counting her out of every state. Claiming that she would lose every state that she won. Had the DNC not cheated for Obama, she would have already been our Democrat nominee.

Geez, can’t you just go vote for Bob and leave us alone? What’s it to you?

I liked Rove’s assessment tonight about how debates never give a knock out punch they just draw out the issues. Mac and Sarah will pounce on the economic plan for the bailout and take on the terrorist friends. Hannity gave a clue tonight, asking the Obama doughboy if Obama had ever met Farrakhan personally…going to the million man march and all. The newest dodge is “You’re an anti-Semite.” Never could get where that came from but does it matter? We’re racists and hate Jewish people too.

The one question I have for Barky is: How is he going to pay for everything he’s proposing? With Soro’s money or what? Or maybe some of his billionaire terrorist buddies will pay the tab. I sure hope people are not buying into his health plan. There is NO MONEY for that now. Nothing he’s proposing will take affect… just more blah-blah-blah.

Oh, but I forgot. That’s always the Dems talking points… “We’re going to give you everything, just vote for us.” So basically, the party that got us into this financial mess, is going to give us more by way of National Health Care? How can people vote for this snake oil salesman?

Earth to Barky. It ain’t gonna happen. And yes, you are a LIAR.

I hate McCain. I hate his inadequate campaign. I hate his aides. It’s like they’re working in a vacuum with absolutely no idea of what’s going on outside, no idea of what people are talking about, what people want to hear. His debate performance was pathetic. He didn’t fight. He didn’t attack. He missed almost every available opportunity to convince Americans that Barak Obama is the worst possible prospect for America. No mention of his despicable extreme left wing anti-American past. Barely a mention of the Dems guilt in the sub prime crisis. No mention of ACORN. No mention of Ayers.

McCain and his team are just standing by as Americans get ready to do the dumbest thing they’ve ever done and vote a communist into the White House.

All Obama had to do tonight was sit back and put himself on autopilot, knowing fine well that this was McCain’s last chance. What the hell happened with McCain? Can anyone tell me?

I saw his speech yesterday. It had me on fire. I was punching the air. He took Obama in his teeth and savaged him. Why the hell can’t he do this in Obama’s presence? It’s as if the fool has his mind set upon being the gentleman, the non-partisan bringer-together-of-a-new-era-of-cooperation. Screw that! I don’t want him to cooperate and work with anti-American socialists! This is SERIOUS goddamn it!

*sigh*

What a pathetic man. WHAT a pathetic man. Sarah Palin would have hammered Obama tonight. McCain missed his last chance – and I’m sad to say, let down the country he keeps telling us he’s devoted himself to.

I so badly wanted McCain to hit Obama on the $250,000 dollar tax increase, affecting small business. Obama quipped that the dollar amount would represent a “tiny” number of small business owners.

Wrong. Dead wrong. Completely wrong.

McCain should have referred Obama to the Small Business Council. These proposed tax increases will kill small business and put a lot of them out of business all together. Meaning? Loss of jobs and family income.

This is a message McCain needs to punch home. That and the fact that the 95% of tax reductions Obama heralds = 40% of people who don’t pay taxes. We’re talking tax rebates for lower income people. Hey, everyone likes to get a check from the Government. But which will be longer lasting? A $500-1000 check or an actual job with a long-term future? Depend on the public dole or look forward to expanded opportunity? To me, the choice is crystal clear.

Empty, empty promises from “The One.” And empty-eyed followers, I fear.

You guys and the media who say he needed a home run are missing the point.
Alot of folks are saying Mccain won on the economy, well that means he WON the debate.
The strategy Mccain is emplying now is to make Obama so dangerous that poeple will look to Mccain as he said “a steady hand on the till”
Mccain would have been ridiculed if he laid the smack down.
The final debate will be the trap. Obama and his campaign were expecting a food fight. So is the media. They did not get it. Now, leading up to the election they will have a new radical each week and next debate Mccain WILL lay the wood to him.
He is not running his campaign based on media or obama’s expectations.
He won on the economy tonight, as the #1 issue that is big. That is his week spot. If he shores up support in that feild he wins. His mortage plan is the right way to go. Conservatives are complaining but there is no end in sight to this mess if we do not FIX the mortage mess. It was also a strong appeal to the center and dems.
Mac won. Obama looks aloof. On healthcare Mac hit him good to.

Paul, you make great points. After the Palin attacks this week, everyone was expecting McCain to lay down the hammer. But he knew going in this was going to be a subdued affair, especially with Bromide Brokaw moderating. If McCain conveyed his message about the economy successfully with this debate, he moves on to the next level. I just hope it’s not too little too late.

And where do they get these “uncommitted” voters? It must be a requirement to have had a lobotomy to participate on one of the Luntz panels.

Obama- smooth but nonspecific, and of course, ARROGANT.

honestly, if they pull this “that one is racist” crap the McCain people should slap him silly.

in all seriousness, the best moment was when the CPOfficer reached out to shake McCain’s hand. poor Obama could barely look at the guy cause McCain’s great comment was from a place called reality and not scripted from some book.

Comment by Above My Pay Grade | 2008-10-07 22:34:09

I thought McCain won, but not strongly enough to make a big impact.

His plan to buy up bad mortgages, though I think it is bad policy, will probably go over well. Keeping home values artificially high is dumb, and unsustainable without increases in income, but it will probably be popular.

Pointing the finger at 0bama and the Democrats on Freddie and Fannie was a good step, but he needs to trace the problem back to the CRA, ACORN, and Obama’s lawsuit against Citibank that all but FORCED banks to make loans to people who were very unlikely to ever pay them.

He really needs to hammer 0bama’s “Tax cut for 95% of Americans” as, to borrow a phrase from President Clinton, “a fairy tale.”. McCain and Palin need to say over and over that 0bama is LYING to Americans and playing them for fools, and that he has no intention of of cutting taxes.

When 0bama tries to “set the record straight” they need to say, “Listen, I undestand that Senator 0bama CLAIMS he will cut taxes, but you need to understand that he is LYING.”

He killed 0bama on foreign policy, but 0bama didn’t totally embarass himself, which is, I think, what McCain needs.

Barry rambled on, and didn’t say much of substance, but I think most voters probably didn’t realize he didn’t know what he was talking about.

McCain and Palin need to constantly barrage 0bama with his anti-American, racist, radical and corrupt friends. Ayers, Wright, Rezko, Odinga, Meeks, etc. They need to paint 0bama as a dangerous choice. The good news is, he absolutely IS a dangerous choice, and there is plenty of evidence of this.

Hopefully, Americans will wake up and realize they are about to elect an unqualified, terrorist sympathizer, radical, socialist, racist, anti-Semitic, anti-Israel, pro-Palestinian egomaniac, who will make the Carter years seem like the good old days.

Yes, this is the biggest reason I won’t vote for Obama. McCain’s problem is he can’t throw his own President under the bus. McCain’s strategy should be: “Our country would be a thousand times better off if my party had nominated me instead of W. in 2000. No mortgage crisis, no 9/11.” Then use that as a way to compare Obama to Bush.

Lesson 101, How to deal with a pathological liar?

Set him up, let him lie, then destroy every lie while introducing other lies and problems thus confusing the pathological liar!

McCain tonight set Obama up, called him on the letters 2 yrs ago over regulations that will appear tomorrow without Obama’s name on it for one.

Introduced new program on mortgages left Odumbi stumped.

Made Odumbi look a fool on Pakistan AGAIN!

Called out Odumbi’s tax votes and policy increases.

Stalking a dangerous prey is slow and methotical with the kill next week!

The past 4 days McCain and Palin have introduced attacks and tonight McCain re-enforced Obama lies.

It was easy to see McCain was becoming impatient and wanting to bust loose, but the GOP are timing masters and Obama well is simply stupid prey unlike Bill Clinton!

Comment by Mercedes | 2008-10-07 23:19:34

But is Obama a pathological liar or a professional liar? If he is a professional liar, then he and his minions will resort to intimidation and fraud just as they did in the primaries against Hillary. And those tactics will have to be a lot more extreme to work against McCain and the Republicans. If Obama has the help of people like George Soros, then the threats will probably include more bad news about the economy or even some threat to public health or safety here or elsewhere.

And what about the media whores? It will take some pretty powerful medicine to overcome their depravity.

In any case, I like your scenario better. This country doesn’t need the Democrats version of George W Bush.

Lets all be serious we all knew McCain is not that kind of firebrand speaker so all who are now pretending that McCain was supposed to come out tonight and shout from the rooftops are being very hypocritical because that is just not his style.

McCain did what he had to do make his case without getting personal with Obama and getting into a all out name calling, finger pointing fight. Some in the media seems to have wanted that and if he did do that the headlines in the morning would of been McCain is unfit, racial and erratic.

Look back at the transcript of the debate he made his points, also look at the hostile manner that Obama kept wanting to go over time pushing the limits to get his points in, Obama also was the first one to take the attack to McCain.

I don’t know how much clearer can McCain tell everyone about the cause of this bail out with Fannie and Friends, he keeps saying it but no one is listening, people don’t want to her that, has anyone ever gone to sit and think that maybe the markets are down because investors feel Obama may win this.

You can keeps saying you are going to make the rich pay and then expect them to inject money into your economy, why should they do such for Obama to then turn around and tax them because they have too much?

The choice is yours to make, vote for who you want but make dam sure that when you decided on that person your are very sure that he can do this job, save the economy, ensure your safety, and all the things you want because one bad decision and that is it we will all have to suffer for the next 4 years there is no do overs when voting is done.

You have thousands of questions sent in and Mr. Tom (I don’t believe in Bill Ayers) Bro-cow picks the most boring ones of the bunch, in order to not move the polls.

Now I go off topic.

One. I have been talking to NancyA and reading some old research. There is perhaps a line of links, starting with Michigan, the SDS, Weathermen hangouts in NY while Obama was at Columbia, the formation of the “New” socialist party in Chicago. There is a one person thread that connects them all – from the mid 60s in Chi-town and Michigan to NY in the late 70s and early 80s to Chicago and the growth of the Marxist movement there, to the launching of Obama. These links make it almost impossible to conclude that Obama did not meet Ayers, the rapist, in NY before going to Chicago.

Two. Some who have read my earlier opinions understand that I am suspect of the bail out. I am not changing my mind. However I should share this. I design software for the public works sector of government. Therefore I am on many email lists. I got this from the Associated Equipment Dealers.

Recognizing the risk posed to the equipment industry by a credit freeze-up, AED has been working over the past two weeks with the White House and other leading business groups to educate lawmakers about the need to enact financial rescue legislation. In recent days we have heard from distributors who have told us that customers who were ready to buy machines decided against doing so because of credit concerns, that customers who wanted to buy could not get financed, and that financing terms have gotten tougher, reducing customers’ ability to purchase equipment.

Whether I think the hype is contrived or the cause is more complex than a Rubik’s Cube the one thing I am hearing is the effect is real.

If we find out that politicians like Obama or financiers like Buffet and Soros helped create the hyped fear that is causing this crash, just to win an election and take control of weak-now powerful companies, we should not be happy. We should stand up and state that we do not like Marxists capitalists ruining us and our country for their gain.

Buffett began investing in his first non-American companies last year and is expanding. Soros has been using US intervention to buy up companies, governments and markets outside the US.

But. Talking ill about “the leader” will, after Obama is elected, will be banned by then.

Let us not let that happen.

Before I say my next I want to say to NQ detractors. Do not underestimate NQ. First it was just Hannity. Then it was his network. Now most news outlets have researchers monitoring this site. And I have a few connections of my own.

Don’t fight with trolls. Fight with facts and support stories you read here with your opinions, feelings and responses you get from your friends who are not here. Post it and it will be read.

Now, get out there and do good. Tell the truth. Use this 21st Century medium and use some old school as well. Talk. Stand up. You are not racists. You are Americans who understand that if do not put country first you will have no free and safe place to put your children first.

Comment by Deep Truths | 2008-10-07 22:49:48

The housing question or point made by McCain is the same one made by Jim Cramer. Sixty percent of the housing problem is in California and Florida – mostly speculative and/or predator lending between 2005 and 2007. If the government buys those up, then they are off the balance sheets of the banks. The government doesn’t charge itself interest or even has to pay up. Or they could sell them outright with 50% off. The point is to take toxic mortgages that are clogging up the system, out of the system. Its brilliant plan. Its Jim Cramer’s plan and it will work. McCain should hammer it tomorrow, along with Ayers, ACORN, and Rezko.

I loved it. Very smart. It was the bright light of the night.

Comment by lark | 2008-10-07 23:26:05

I think I am not sure yet that he was talking about the government absorbing the gap between the market value and the mortage value. That gap will stabilize as soon as the government begins the process of paying for those gaps and the gaps will grow smaller as prices stabilize at a higher market value than they would be if allowed to free fall.

I think that is a good way. I don’t like it but I think is a good way. I prefer a different approach. I prefer what I call an orderly divestiture of assets. But I concede I don’t know what effect that would have.

I don’t this changes anything. McCain is not behind because of style or substance. He is behind because of what happened 10 days ago. The anger people feel about the sub-prime collapse is being vented and republicans, particularly their nominee, McCain, is catching the brunt of it.

I agree with Karl Rove that the polls changed drastically and quickly for McCain, but they are just as capable of changing back when things settle down and yes, before the election. I know I am not objective about Obama, but I still do not think people in general will choose the most liberal tax and spend senator, with NO track record, with no assurance of how he will handle this grave crisis we’re in.

Andrew-I think if it were such a sure thing for Obama, his minions wouldn’t be desperately involved in voter fraud. Obviously, they are not really comfortable with their supposed lead in the polls and are trying to steal the election through ACORN and other fraudulent methods. So…if THEY aren’t confident of winning (without cheating) we should realize what THEY realize-the American people aren’t that gullible.
McCain strikes a chord with the public-he’s the real deal.

Oddly enough, watching Fox just now, it appears that Karl Rove actually thinks McCain did pretty well. Rove isn’t shy about dumping on McCain, so this sort of surprised me.

Personally, I thought they were both pretty bad tonight, but Obama the smoother talker, the better at schmoozing and fooling an audience. McCain passed up a lot of opportunities, it seemed. And the questions were stupid. The whole town hall wasn’t even a real town hall — it sucked, it was contrived.

Rove says it doesn’t matter who actually “won” — what is more important is what each candidate can take from the debate to more or less use as a basis in their day-to-day campaigning from here on out…

Cool. I read #16. This Bradley guy is asking to join the suit, and is asking for a remedy known as an order of mandamus, which is basically a judicial order ‘making’ a government official do something — here, to investigate the Indonesian passport re BO’s birth location, which he is saying must have been overseas for both BO and his sister.

Hard to say where this will go. Its essentially the same case as Berg, and if the court is too scared to do anything, it will languish until too late, or something. If the court feels that something is really up, then something might happen.

Pretty uncharted legal territory, this.

On the isreal question Obama totally struck out. He began talking about meeting with Ahmadinajad. Which, a question on who will defend isreal, Jewish folks i think are not interested in Obama chatting with Iran while it plans the destruction of their homeland.
Mccain said, forget the UN it will take to long. We protect our allies.
Obama is going to lose the jewish vote. If not lose it it will be razor thin.
In recent polls Macs support among hispanics is creeping up to 40% which is what bush had in 04.
You need to see the big picture. Mccain cannot become a bomb thrower in front of 50 plus million americans. He had to show his strength on economics, he did. He needed to maintain his huge lead as to who is ready to be CIC, he did.
Bill Ayers and Wright are topics Mccain should only adress at rallys or when asked.

Comment by jwrjr | 2008-10-07 22:57:29

Obama gaffe – he made a statement about the government’s involvement in the development of comupters. Wrong in fact and by implication. First, the computer was invented centuries ago. There are ruins of what are thought to be a machine to calculate astronomical data that date back to the Romans. Charles Babbage (who worked on a mechanical computing device in the 19th century (I think) had nothing to do with government. The first electronic computers were made for the army to calculate bomb and artillery trajectories. Desktop computers were made practical by Apple and IBM. NO government involvement.
Implication – the networking system that would become the Internet was originally Darpanet (used by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency). It was NEVER intended for public use. But it got out anyway.
Conclusion – if Obama (or McCain, for that matter) wants to cite matters of historical record, get it right or don’t mention it.
End of history lesson.
In the debate it appeared that Obama thinks that the govt should be involved in everything. Not such a good idea.

Comment by Jason | 2008-10-07 23:18:27

He was totally wrong about computers on two separate counts, and I think his campaign needs to hammer Obama about the other one.

Did anyone hear the bull he was spewing about creating a new “green” economy and how this would create millions of new jobs and kick-start the economy? He used “computers” as an analogy, saying that they did much the same thing when they hit the scene.

What a dumb thing to say! Computers were a boon to the economy because they greatly improved production efficiency. Creating an artificial “need” for green products with a click of the fingers will not improve production efficiency and will not improve the economy. It’s like the government creating public works projects to give people jobs – it’s just a waste of money and resources. Oh wait! Obama proposed that too….creating government jobs building roads and bridges! Did I hear right? Obama was proposing something which economists now agree greatly prolonged and intensified the Depression when FDR tried it back in the 30’s.

He’s a socialist who does not understand economics one little bit. He can memorize economic talking points taught to him by rote which make him sound knowledgeable, but for Obama’s campaign to rip McCain as someone who knows nothing about economics is just totally hypocritical. Besides which, McCain might not know much about economics but he sure as hell understands the basics of economic growth, which is that you NEVER, NEVER increase taxes on businesses – including (especially) corporations.

Obama thinks that the key is to sting big businesses in order to fund tax cuts to small businesses. But what he doesn’t understand is that big business is a vital part of our economic growth and that their “economies of scale” allows them to provide us with our daily essentials at low prices. If they are stung for billions more in taxes, they WILL get that money back by raising prices. This means that there will be fewer dollars chasing the kinds of goods and services that small businesses generally provide (specialist goods, luxury goods, personal services etc). If people are spending more on mass produced/big box retail goods, their budgets will have to edge out other things. Small businesses WILL take a hit.

Obama thinks that the only thing which affects the profits of a small business are its taxes – and he DOES propose a tax cut for the smallest businesses after all. But what good will a small tax cut do them if they experience smaller revenues? And what good will tax cuts do to the middle classes if the price of goods go up?

I can’t believe someone quoted the Fox text poll. Number 1, the only people voting are people that are watching Fox news, 2, a text vote is not a valid polling method since people can vote twice and you have no control over the demographics of the sample, and 3, the true opinion is never going to be that one-sided.

Reading this website is like peering into some alternate universe for me. What great points did McCain make? Besides the idea of buying up homes, what did he say that was new? And how much would it cost to buy up troubled mortgages? How on earth would we pay for that?

Hey I agree…I didn’t have insurance on my children till my oldest was 12 years old. My ex didn’t pay his child support either. He didn’t pay anything the judge said he was to pay…I made it, my kids did too. One has 2 years of collage, still paying for it, one finished collage and has it payed for one didn’t go to collage..we didn’t get any help…

A Story:
When my son was 17 he worked at McDonald’s. We were at the Post Office waiting in line to get stamps. 3 girls in front of us were complaing about how their well-fair checks were not enough and saying when their second and third children came then they would get a raise.(2 were pregnant) We got back out to the car and my son couldn’t hold it in…I work for my money and they have babies and expect the government to pay for everything…my tax dollars so they can sit around and watch TV….they need to give the kids they have a bath, at least they could do that.

I will never forget it. Well-fair is good when you are down but it should not be a means of support.

This country is in the crapper and Obama will be the coffin nail that takes America to Third World status. And Obama will be proud of it. Comment by Jean | 2008-10-07 23:59:21

Actually Canada is doing well, although we may have a partial slump because of the ties to the US. My province has a balanced budget and a surplus, and so does the federal government. Good universal health care, social programs (never funded to what it needed – but perhaps that will never happen).
We have high taxes and much higher gas prices, but most people are optimistic and doing well. No housing crisis.
Is this the neosocial hell you are speaking of?

You can always join forces with the Alaskan successionists…

Sorry, but your statement seems more than a little extreme.

America isn’t defined by its president, but by our Constitution, our laws, and our people–all of which will outlast whoever the next president happens to be.

With all respect, the policies of the last three republican administrations are what have turned us into a debtor nation ruled by a wealthy elite. One of the appeals of Obama is that his policies could actually reverse that trend. His top priority is an alternative energy economy. I see that as the only logical way out of our dilemma.

Remember when O-BOMB-A made that ‘gaffe’ saying he had visited all 57 states? Well, he was just mixing us up with the Arab states, much closer to his heart.

Yes, if he wins, I won’t consider this home any longer. Maybe I will live on a yaught and be country-less.

caringnurse1, I am not got to bother verifying whether or not that is true (and i doubt it), but taking a poll from a biased population yields biased results. This is not up for debate.

I felt sorry for McCain when Obama slammed him with the bomb, bomb, bomb Iran comment, because I truly believe John McCain has served this country so much more than Barack Obama has, and really has a better grasp of foreign affairs and military matters. I couldn’t help but think that there is a huge difference between joking about bombing Iran, which we don’t have good relations with, and bombing Pakistan, which we would like to improve our relations with (we need Pakistan’s cooperation in the region).

I see our relationship with Pakistan as fragile, and I think that is why McCain suggests that Obama not speak so strongly about going in to take out Osama. After all, it seems rather arrogant and disrespectful to state that you would go in against Pakistan’s wishes. Obviously, if you have to do it, you do it, but to say so before hand during a debate just seems to be setting us up for more strained relations.

Although it would be in our best interest to improve our relationship with Iran, realistically, I’m not sure that is possible unless circumstances change drastically. So, I’m not sure if singing bomb, bomb, bomb Iran is as damaging to our relationship with Iran, as saying we would go into Pakistan without permission is to our relationship with Pakistan and its people.

I’m honestly not sure what to think about Obama’s candid comments. They may have been a calculated message to the Pakistani government, allowing them to prepare a political response to such an action that will play well with their own people without actually upsetting the apple cart.

The truth is that Pakistani security forces are infested with unreliable elements. If we found bin Laden and gave the Pakistani government advance notice of a strike, bin Laden probably wouldn’t be there when we struck.

Here’s what these koolaid drinkers don’t want to hear: Obama was bullish, rude and just right down obnoxious. He kept rambling on and on and on and didn’t even respect the moderator’s plead to stick to the clock. McCain’s mortgage idea just won him 5% in the polls! Obama: a bullish thug

He did annoy me more tonight rambling than in the last debate. I think it’s because he kept going over the time limit.

It was ridiculous to have to keep telling them to shorten up.

And that time he just “had” to “correct” John, and then he repeated the same dang thing?

THAT was embarassing!
