Sheriff Mike Scott is in BIG trouble, despite capturing 91% of the vote in his home County last month. The NAACP and the ACLU want to burn his ass.
Liberal groups such as the Young Turks are simply mortified by What Sheriff Scott did: “On Oct 6, 2008 the American people were treated with a very scary and dangerous image of a public official standing on a stage and basically saying that discrimination and hatred is okay in a country that is trying to regain its soul and start healing itself from the failures of the last several years.”
So, what did Sheriff Mike Scott say? It must have a stunning, reprehensible diatribe, unprecedented in the campaign. It must be so appalling and dreadful that we should all rise up and take immediate action? Right?
Well, here is what he did. He used Barack Obama’s middle name—his REAL middle name—during a Palin rally in Florida.
There’s got to be more to it, right? He did it in a fit of racist rage, frothing at the mouth like a madman, right?
Well, no. When Sheriff Scott took the stage, he said that the world had three types of people, “the ones who make things happen, the ones who watch what happens and the ones who wonder what happened. Let’s leave Barack Hussein Obama wondering what happened.” That was it.

It’s probably not what I or you would have said, especially because we know that people are so damn touchy these days. But come on people! Pull back and look at the bigger picture here. Are we headed towards a society where you will be ripped apart by a slew of organizations for uttering a simple fact? Is our freedom to say even dumb things so fragile that we have to call out the dogs? And this little incident seems more than ironic in the face of the vicious, hate-filled slurs against Hillary Clinton and her supporters.
Meanwhile and unfortunately for Sheriff Scott, his troubles aren’t over. Aside from all of the grief he is getting for uttering “The One’s” full name, he was wearing his sheriff costume when he did it. So now the government is all over his backside for violating the Hatch Act.
This time it’s the Sheriff who might want to think about getting out of Dodge for a while.

If Barack doesn’t like his middle name, he should legally get rid of it. By saying it is illegal or immoral to use it, we are again granting special rules and special dispensation for The One.
Who else qualifies for this kind of treatment?

As I say — his name belongs to him. If he didn’t like it or thought it would give people the wrong idea, have it legally changed. It wouldn’t be the first time he changed his name. Everyone else in the country should not have to walk around with a magic decoder ring trying to figure out what is politically correct for him.
Sen Obama used to use his full name pretty regularly. What happened? I never hear his whole name and associate it with anything one way or the other. Personally, I could care less. That has nothing to do with why I would not vote for him.

why, as is being called for in the case of the sheriff, wasn’t a federal investigation of the Missouri prosecutors and sheriffs who said they were forming a truth squad for Obama. wasn’t their conduct just as partisan. and an equal violation of federal laws that prohibit federal employees (or in this case those who work for entities that receive fed funding) anti-political statutes.

I think it is not the middle name that causes the firestorm. I think it is the fact that he appeared in uniform. I think what he did was wrong. I am a campaign contributor and volunteer for McCain Palin. I have already voted for them. To me what he did crosses the same line that law enforcement in MO crossed when they talked as law enforcement officers, sworn officers of the court, about “truth squads” for Obama.
If we want to have a free, open, democratic society we must all be vigilant about the role of law enforcement or the military in the political landscape. I am sorry but I think that when you take an oath to uphold the law, to wear the blindfold of justice, then you need to follow that oath to its logical conclusion. And that means that you do not use your legal office as a platform for political partisanship.
There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with what the sheriff said.
They are pulling this crap just because a) they can, and b) because they’re building a case for the lawlessness, intimidation, and violence they have in mind for the entire nation, come Election Day.

A recent article in The New York Times exposing what Wertz had done in Blacksburg referenced a 1979 U.S. Supreme Court ruling that “students have the right to register at their college address.” But registration standards are set out at the state level, and while Virginia’s legislation doesn’t explicitly restrict student voting, its vague language allows registrars to turn away students. State law requires that all voters prove “domicile” where they wish to register, but it defines the term loosely.
Registrars may decide on their own whether dormitories can be considered “domicile,” or if a voter must pay local taxes to register, for example.
Student registration is, therefore, left almost entirely up to the whim of Virginia’s 134 registrars, who may interpret the clause about domicile however they choose, while staying technically within the bounds of state law.”

Don’t underestimate the McCain campaign.
What type of movie do Americans really like? Not the popcorn flicks, but the ones that leave you saying “holy sh–” at the end when the credits roll. The Usual Suspects comes to mind.
Here’s a movie where you have multiple story lines coming together toward the end, all connected to a central character, and when it finally dawns on you what just happened, wow — it is one heck of a movie. Separate plot elements dramatically merge into one coherent narrative and you realize had you been paying attention all along you would have seen it.
It really works. Those stories have powerful staying power.
For more than two months the Republicans have pushed the ACORN story — a corrupt, radical organization that operates through voter fraud to disrupt American democracy, destabilize our financial system, agitate against business, etc. Just this week the FBI State Attorney General raided ACORN in Nevada and discovered how prevalent their voter fraud operation is. The FBI is expected to get involved.
Separately, the GOP started painting a picture of Obama’s campaign donations. He’s been extremely secretive. In a bit of marxist doublespeak, the Obama campaign is saying it is the most transparent campaign ever, but won’t provide a list of its donors, destroyed Obama’s Illinois legislative files, won’t provide his health records, etc. The more we learn about his small donors, the more questions we have about foreigners trying to sway the American democratic system.
And then there is the McCain campaign. It has gone zealously after Bill Ayers’s connection to Obama. Ayers hired Obama to run the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, after launching Obama’s political career in his living room.
Bill Ayers, in applying for the Annenberg Challenge grant, said the purpose of the money would be to radicalize students to agitate for change. Who did he put in charge of the program? Barack Obama.
Who did Obama give the money to?
ACORN.
And the separate plots begin to connect. The ACORN narrative, the Ayers narrative, the foreign donor narrative — they intersect, combine, tangle, and paint a very ugly picture of Barack Obama
What Obama did on the board with the Annenberg money and what he’d do with your money come in to the narrative.
But I’m told there will be a surprise twist in this plot that will make it even neater to watch unfold.
The next month is going to be tumultuous and fun.
The October Surprise is that there is no “surprise.” It’s been in front of us all along. Only now the various story lines are getting connected.

funny! I just posted above a similar thought. I am frankly tired of people telling me that because I am white, I can only use the language deemed pc by persons of color, or nonChristian. I was on a liberal site that called people out for using his initials BO, saying it was racist because it referred to body odor. So people used BHO and they said that was racist because it referred to his middle name.
At the last debate, McCain’s saying “that one” in response to the understood question of “which one” was deemed racist as was his use of the term “dark days.”
It’s all somewhat laughable, but troubling because these constant findings of racism in speech will become more draconian under President Obama. Those who disagree with his administration will have to bob and weave their way through the linguistic landmines of imaginations like Bob Herbert’s before they can even get to the issues – which disagreeing on those with Obama will also, definitely, be racist.

Much ado about a middle name

Is pronouncing a man’s middle name tantamount to insulting him? In the case of Senator Barack Obama, the favourite to win the Democratic Party’s nomination for the presidency of the United States, the answer appears to be yes.
Senator Hillary Clinton, Obama’s last remaining rival within the party, has already apologised because her aides used “the unmentionable middle name”, ostensibly without her consent.
Last week, it was the turn of Senator John McCain, the Republican Party’s presumptive nominee and Obama’s possible rival in the final contest, to apologise because the host of a meeting he attended was rash enough to pronounce the seven-letter word.
The word in question is Hussain, Obama’s middle name that was also the name of his Kenyan Muslim father.
What is astonishing is that Senator Obama has accepted the apologies as if the use of his father’s name was, indeed, an insult.
What is the rationale behind this strange behaviour?
It is simple. Hussain is an Arabic word supposed to have a negative resonance with many Americans, reminding them of Saddam Hussain, the late Iraqi dictator who has entered American folklore as arch-villain. The fact that, in Arabic, Hussain means “most benign” or “very beautiful” is not enough to persuade Obama and his PR gurus to treat it more kindly.
However, Obama’s problem does not end with censoring his middle name. His first name, Barack, is also Arabic, from the stem barakah meaning “blessing”. His surname Obama, from Swahili*, the Arabic-based lingua franca of East Africa, refers to members of the Luo tribe who converted to Islam.
In other words, Barack Hussain Obama Jr’s name is a perfectly ordinary identification for someone with an ethnic East African Muslim background.
What is troubling about Obama’s approach to the mini-storm stirred by his political enemies over his name, is what may look like an attempt at obfuscation. He has behaved as if he did have a family secret, and as if the name Hussain was something to be ashamed of.

In an important symbolic move designed to signal an end of the special relationship between Israel and the United States,, Obama has become the first major American presidential candidate in more than 30 years not to commit himself to transferring the US embassy to the Jewish state from Tel Aviv to Occupied Jerusalem.
Last but not least, Obama has promised to withdraw from Iraq within the first year of his presidency, thus meeting one of the key demands of radical Muslim forces, whether Sunni or Shiite.
The message is clear: Obama wants a new relationship with radical forces in the Islamic world while distancing the US from its traditional allies in the region. In other words, he proposes to reverse policies that have taken shape over more than six decades under 12 successive American presidents. It is this revolutionary idea that deserves to be closely examined, studied and debated, not the origin and meaning of Obama’s middle name.

The Hatch Act restricts the political activity of some state and local employees who work in connection with federally funded programs.
When Sheriff Scott took the stage, he made a statement and he said that the world had three types of people, “the ones who make things happen, the ones who watch what happens and the ones who wonder what happened. Let’s leave Barack Hussein Obama wondering what happened.” That is not campaigning for Palin. Because, Obama might wonder what happened if he is elected. If this applies to an elected Sheriff, why does it not apply to other elected state officials, say, like a Governor, or a Mayor? Is not giving an endorsement, campaigning? After all, Governors works with many federally funded programs such as Medicare and WICK, as do Mayors.
Now, if he said McCain or Palin would make things happen if they were elected and you (the crowd) should vote for them. That might be considered campaigning for them and the Sheriff would come under the same law as do the Governors who endorse candidates.

I listened to talk radio on my way home from work today. Hannity had Jerome Corsi on, his first interview from London after being deported from Kenya. He has e-mails given to him by former Odinga supporters, from Obama to Odinga as late as December of 2007, I believe, and also an e-mail from Obama designating a “contact” for Odinga from his campaign, and then e-mails from that person to Odinga. Apparently Obama’s e-mails are telling Odinga how to run his campaign, and supporting him wholeheartedly, including Odinga’s alliance with radical Muslims in Kenya and his support of Shaira(sp?)law. Then Corsi also has some kind of document about Odinga’s plan should he lose the election, including trying to turn the 2 prominent tribes in Kenya against each other, which he did successfully after he lost, and led to the murders of many and the destruction of over 200 churches in that country. Corsi to be on Hannity and Colmes on Monday night with e-mails in hand. That’s all I remember.

The way to respond to this Hussein stuff is to push it in their faces even harder. There should be demonstrations in support of the sheriff chanting Barack Hussein Obama. You know, Barak could have very easily changed his name when he realized that Hussein might be a liability in his political career. All he had to do was go to probate court and have a legal name change. And let me tell you about one ignorant Obama supporter, “fat legs” blocking a row of empty seats.
Some good people were out in the hot Florida sun for two hours waiting in long lines. Germain Arena was almost full when finally some senior citizens got in. It had been quite an ordeal for this one man, a cancer patient, clearly in his seventies, had never been to a political rally before. He appeared weak from his ordeal and tried to politely excuse himself to “fat legs”, trying to get into one of the empty seats. “Fat legs” was talking on their cell phone and totally laughed at the man trying to sit down. Finally the man tried to climb over “fat legs” and “fat legs” laughed some more at this poor frail person.
The in-house security was called over to the incident, and they made “fat legs” stand up to let people into the row. And as another senior citizen politely pass by “fat legs” called her a “b!tch”.
This ignorance on the part of Obama’s thugs is not unplanned. And I would bet it is not an isolated incident. It is disgraceful. Too bad the “young turks”, the NAACP, and ACLU are more interested imaginary actions, and not interested in the brutal way Obama’s thugs are disrespectfully treating our senior citizens. Or then again, maybe they are interested, hoping to start an incident where one of their thugs like “fat legs” gets punched in that laughing, cussing mouth.

She pooh-poohed it and said that if that was going to happen, it would have in the primaries! Uh, Michelle, what about New Hampshire just for starters? And wasn’t hubby supposed to win Indiana and barely lost, even with all the imported votes from Chi-Town? And caucuses aren’t subject to Bradley, but instead to a reverse sort of it where people are embarrassed not to come on over and vote for the minority guy! If the Dems had had primaries in all the states, particularly winner-take-all like the Repubs, Hillary would have won hands down! Ijust wanted to post a comment to this subject. I used to live in Jacksonville florida. During the race for the mayors office. Sherriff Nat Glover stood in front of a crowd and the media and stumped for the republicain nominee for mayor. He was in his uniform and spoke of his support for the nominee.
The Goverment is not investigating Sherriff Scott for violations of the Hatch law. Yes he was in uniform, but so was Sherriff Glover. No one said anything about Glover, but Scott gets called a racist and may lose his job. This is not right! I might add that Sherriff Glover was black. I am not trying to be racist, but it seems that the race card is being played too often and on things that have been done by former elected officials who have not been investigated. Unfortunatly I cannot retrieve an image of it even from the archives, but I watched it on TV when I lived there. (was in 2002 about)

This election has been so tiring after all the drama or should I say turmoil of Fraud and corruption and feeling powerless to have my voice heard.I voted Hillary and Now have decided to vote Mccain as a boycott to the Democrat’s new Socialist party.I feel that they have held Congress for two years and have done nothing for the American people. I am from Ohio a swing state the knuckle heads in this state voted Bush twice.I have always voted democrat except one time and that was for Reagan.The economy has changed the tune.Ohio was for Hillary and then Hillary for Mccain but since the economic problems Ohio is changing for Obama.Even my 70 plus year old parents have lost so much money in the stock market My father pulled some stocks out and put them into CD’s yesterday he is scared and has lost his ass.They blame the Republicans.No matter what I try to explain about Obama they think the Democrats are the Answer to the economic woes.
I can’t help but feel almost that this huge gas price increase that hurt the American people so badly.Think about Ohio who has lost all of its industry and now jobs here fall into service minimum wage jobs for lots of families who worked in the factories who now have gone to Mexico.Think about 7.35 an hour and gas costing here 4.00 a gallon all summer.The gas goes up every summer until the heat bills are about to come then gas at the pumps goes down to ready our pocket books for the even higher heat bills.The stock market seems almost staged.Yah I know it sounds stupid but that is how afraid I have become of our goverment.Perception is a great and powerful tool.And now I beleive more then ever the Democrats or the Republicans don’t give a hoot about us.

At 54 years of age I am truly afraid for my future and my childrens future.I am just a single Mom whose children are in there mid 20’s and early 30’s.Still have a daughter at home having a terrible time making it at 25.I was a waitress server and restaurant bartend all my life.Made good money and raised my children by myself and have kept my house.But now I dont know where I am going to end up.Yes I am a middle aged over the hill uneducated Hard worker and I am sure it shows in my writing that I grew up in a different time as a woman in lower income America.Yes I am a Kurt Vonnegut reader who believes that sometimes you are just and cant help what you are born into,if your Father is in real Estate you may be also,If your Mother is a server you just may be to,Or a painter,a police Officer or a factory worker.In other words I was not born with a silver spoon in my mouth and had little encouragement or money to go to college,but in my time woman were house wives and care givers to their children when one person was only needed to bring home the dough.But now it takes two and sometimes it takes children to take care of their parents because the more families pitch in to work to attain the American dream the corporate goverment just raises the gas the food the utilites and anything they can to compensate for the extra imcome you may be making.
Do I sound discouraged and scared yes I am.And certainly that belief does not see reality in the YES WE CANS OF THIS COUNTRY.Barack Obama does not speak for me!
My son pays his own way to college two years in and can’t financially finish.Affirmative action and the color of his skin did not help him in the country he was actually born in.The goverment didnt care to see to it his father’s child support after my divorce was or had any responsibility as a mans part to help a woman raise her children.The mostly black workers who seem to get all the goverment jobs didnt work to see my children were morally taken care of.I was even told that unfortunatly if a man does not want to pay theri is little you can do about it.Ge I was not given the choice and of course what woman would urn her back on her children so we find a way to support them even if the laws do not protect the moral rights of our children being supported by thier Fathers to.So here again an example of ill treatment of woman in this country.Even the thre times I was able to raise a thousand dollars to hire my own attorney rather then use the child enforcement attorneys I still saw no enforcement of my childrens child support.So I guess those goverment workers are making money on our tax payers money for nothing.they just handle the percentage of what they take out of the support checks that do come in.
The mayor of my city cares more about building an ampitheater and a natatoriam for the elite that has been built twice in 20 years and looks way better then our highschool.We have more exercising equipment for the latte drinkers though!I could go on and on about my discouragements but my blog is getting too long.I want to really point out that this new found HOPE that Obama talks about is more of the same political promises that politicicans never keep.And my party I think has a tingle up their legs for the African people and not the lower income people or middle class as a whole.I could care less about the tribal wars in Darfur and Kenya and alike,I can care less about the religious and tribal wars of the middle East.We will never change them.Why has the United States Goverment turned their backs on American born citizens who are hurting.Why does my son have to wait in line for a college education because he is white.Why do I find Mexican based companys non citizens on visas and some illegal getting a free education over my son,and lets add India,Africa,French,and every enternational country excedeing the rights of our constitution for every American citizen to have the right to an education yet it seems that only visa students attending our colleges for free have more constitutional rights then our children born into this country.Why did my son have to be eaten up by predatory loans and be in debt the rest of his life just to spend two years in college without the opportunity to finish.Did the goverment enforce the laws of my child support to further the eduaction of my children NO!The goverment says if you are white in this country and born into a rich family the odds are you will be comfortable in this American life.If you are a minority now changing to a majority and your skin color is other then white there is no law that will not be legislated to help you out.But as a white woman at the bottom of constitutional rights totem pole we suffer and our children with dead beat dads suffer.And remember while raising my children alone I get paid 70 cents on the dollar.So no I do not beleive in YES WE CAN or HOPE.How can I do that when our goverment has left me and my children on the wayside for their global corporate economy that now is on the verge of doom.Global? whre does that leave me and my children in the scheme of Global unity of our goverment with special interests in a corporate world that only takes on the intersts of politicians. I wish the Obama people would make up their minds. If they are proud of Obama, then they need to be proud of his full name, and not just part of his name. If they are not proud of his full name and get offended when it is used, then something is terribly wrong in the Obama camp.
Many people are worried that American is becoming too much of a socialist state. I am worried, in part based on the above, that the Obama people want to make it into a communist state where people are afraid to speak up. There already are Republicans in California who are afraid to say they are for McCain and that a Democratic Congress with Obama at the helm is a recipe for disaster. What have the Democrats done for this country in the last two years and done to avoid the crises in which we find ourselves? Since they were in control of the House and Senate they are more responsible than the Republicans.
