What Ayers and Dohrn Have To Say About America Today

Thank you, blogger McNorman, for these telling videos shown below–taken in 2007.

We have listened ad nauseum to Obama spin about his relationship with Bill Ayers. We have just about heard it all, from “I was 8 years old when he did these things” to “He’s just a guy!” to “His [adult]children went to school with my children” to “Obama didn’t know who Ayers was“.

Well I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that Barack Obama surely does know who Bill Ayers is now–and what his philosophy on America is.

Ayers stood on the flag in the photo at left when Obama already knew him for years. I guess Obama didn’t know about that either.

After all, Obama dispersed Millions of dollars under the direction of Ayers and the Chicago Annenburg Challenge. A program which was designed to radicalize children. How hard was that for Obama to understand? Surely Ayers didn’t pick Obama to dispense millions of dollars because he didn’t agree with him.

Here are video clips of Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn speaking at the MSU SDS Reunion in 2007. These are not doddering older people tracking toward retirement. No Sir. These are two people with the same radical thoughts they had in the 60s about America. Only now they call it “activism”.

I wonder what those Annenberg Challenge lunch meetings between Ayers and Obama were like.

Once again, these video clips below are from November, 2007. You will hear Bernardine “Declaration of A State of War” “Charlie Manson “Fork Salute”” Dohrn discuss the overthrow of the government like you and I would talk about where we would like to go to dinner tonight.

You will hear an old hippy who looks like he never let go of the bong introduce Bill Ayers and nostalgically discuss how cool it was to hang out with him and how, although he thought he was a Communist, maybe he was an anarchist.

Anarchy gets a laugh from these people. It’s….cool.

You will hear Bill “Kill Your Parents” Ayers discuss “doing something” and you will hear him discuss how today’s young people view the ’60s romantically. You will hear him discuss how to “Build on the spirit of resistance”. You will hear about putting yourself on the line even if it gets your head busted. You will hear just how intolerable our world is and how we have to “act”.

He sees now as a moment of “Unprecedented Opportunity”. I either don’t hear very well or what I have just listened to is a goal of “organizing” all those who are discontented to overthrow capitalism to make way for Socialism, if not Communism.

Funny, I don’t remember these people being romantic at all. I remember them scaring the shit out of America, paralyzing a guy named Elrod, the guy Bernardine wrote the song **Lay Elrod Lay for — to poke fun of him lying in the street unable to move due to a broken neck. See photo at left. Eldrod is the guy on the ground, left.

Really funny, Bernardine. You’re a real human, aren’t you? If I had a kid in school right now, I’d really want him to be exposed to your stuff. Really.

I remember them making bombs with nails in them intended for a military base. I remember them blowing up homes with the intent to kill the residents, including 9 year old children. I remember them injuring cops. I remember the Brinks Robbery and murders. I guess I must remember these two innocent sweetie-pies the wrong way. Shame on me for not appreciating how cool they really were when they blew things up all around the country and how exciting their Declaration of A State of War was.

These were raw hateful terrorists, not Romantic Heroes.

But like Bill Ayers said, they “didn’t do enough”. So I guess an Obama Presidency will give him another shot at it. I don’t know about you, but that thought doesn’t exactly make me feel safe.

This is Ayers today. This is Dohrn today. These are the people Barack Obama hung out with in the past few decades. That much, he cannot deny.

Once you have seen these videos, Click here to hear audio clips of Ayers–Then and Now. It will be up to you to decide whether or not this strongly unrepentant terrorist wouldn’t love to have another shot at America today–and get young folks with stronger backs to lob the bombs for him. I already know what I think.

These are people who have their hand in the teaching of America’s children. Their reach goes far beyond Chicago already. Would you like their philosphy to infiltrate YOUR children? See Bill Ayers and The Subversion of Education.

**Bernardine Dohrn’s Gleeful Lay Eldrod Lay

Lay, Elrod, lay,

Lay in the street for a while

Stay, Elrod, stay

Stay in your bed for a while

You thought you could stop the Weatherman

But up-front people put you on your can,

Stay, Elrod, stay

Stay in your iron lung,

Play, Elrod, play

Play with your toes for a while

Did Bill Ayers and Dohrn attend Obama and Michelle’s wedding?

Maybe the photographer still has copies of the photo negatives.

Comment by Chelsea Patriot | 2008-10-09 10:48:26

Bernadine played matchmaker for Barry and Michelle. Why wouldn’t she have been at their wedding.
The Robinson-Obama wedding invitation list must have been a Who’s Who of Commies. Terrorists and America Haters.
I wonder Who was Barry’s Best Man?
Madelyn Dunham must have attended.
Was Stanley Anne still alive when her Bastard got married?

Comment by Rose | 2008-10-09 13:41:15

What is the evidence of this? Seriously, what is your evidence?

Or is it a valid argument to just ask questions, as in:

Are there Vietnam Vets who served with John McCain who testify that his whole “hero” story is just that, a story? Oh, wait, there IS evidence of that.

I agree, beebop. That is exactly the real point.

I think it annoys me even more when I see a liberal using that tactic of hiding information.

I expect more.

PLUS, I think it’s a green light if he should be elected to not disclose. He has been given permission to do so. Nobody even asked him why he lied.

Literary styles of Ayers & Obama discussed at this link. The evidence seems to point to the fact that Ayers WROTE Obama’s books — or at least the books were heavily edited by Ayers because Obama can’t write worth sh*t.

Uppity, EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT POST, AS ALWAYS.

This crap scares the shit out of me and it should scare every person in America. These Ayers people are friggin, off the chart INSANE. The behavior of Obamanuts now says alot. They learned the radicalism from Ayers and Obama. Making fun of someone they paralyzed? Bombing innocent people? Saying they didn’t do more? Evil remarks about the Manson murders?

I am going to continue to pray throughout each day for John McCain and Sarah Palin. This is very, very serious. Thank you Uppity for such a stark view of what is really going on.

Comment by sarainitaly | 2008-10-09 07:24:34

Brava Uppity! Great post.

I forgot that man was paralyzed, and not killed. I have seen the photo before, and remembered it incorrectly.

Can’t believe anyone would want to hang out with them, unless they agreed with them.

Comment by Rob in Chicago | 2008-10-09 07:48:39

“That man” paralyzed was Richard Elrod, who went on to be “The Man”, elected Sherriff of Cook (”Crook”) County, Illinois in the late 70s and early 80s. He was able to walk reasonably short distances again with the assistance of two canes, and he was also able to witness first-hand, the flippant attitude and lack of remorse displayed by Ayers and Dohrn, while the two domestic terrorists wove their way into “respectable” Chicago society. I believe that Sheriff Elrod passed away a few years ago.

Comment by sarainitaly | 2008-10-09 07:55:28

Thank you for providing his name. I was trying to find it.

In his arrest mug shot, Ayres looks stoned–totally out on another plane of consciousness. For some reason, he seems still suspended in that 60s mentality.

Is it immaturity? Is he deficient intellectually?
Apparently, Dorhn is the brains behind their little enterprise…I am still amazed that he spent no time in prison, even more than at his lack, even today, of basic human empathy. He was not under personal attack (other than a threat of being drafted for Vietnam), which is IMO the only excuse for counter-assault. He could have flown out of the country, if he felt so oppressed. Or gone underground sooner, fleeing the draft. He certainly had plenty of aid from his wealthy family.

Many opposed that war but they did not throw bombs at innocent people in retaliation against a policy.
It is cowardly in concept and delivery. He is no hero. I just heard that the great defender of
free speech, Ward Churchill, was also a member of the Weathermen…strange how twisted reality gets when you embrace an ideology that won’t fly in civil society.

MCcAIN CAMPAIGN HAS SLERTED THE PRESS THAT TODAY 10/9/08 THEY WILL HAVE A MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT???

McCain camp making news in the morning

On what, they won’t say.

“We’ll have something to talk about,” is all a campaign aide would allow.

Check back again in this space or over on our front-page in the morning.

IT SEEMS THAT SOME ONE HAS JUST PLUNKED DOWN A LARGE SOME OF MONEY THAT OBAMA WILL LOOSE????

Between 8:45 PM and 9:15 PM tonight (Oct 8) on Intrade, someone just bet a LOT of money against Obama winning the presidency. And I mean a LOT. His stock, which has been over 70 for a couple of days now and at 76 most of the time today dipped down to 64 or so in those 20 minutes under heavy betting before recovering immediately after 9:15 to 73… Very strange.. is there something someone knows?? What is the news tomorrow, JMart?

You’re my hero, Uppity…thank you for raising this. They are “community building” in an effort to band together certain groups to get strength with numbers.

Coupled with one of your earlier stories that mentioned Ayers’ blog….”…the end of an empire is messy” which has been challenged as merely a quote from a song, something far more sinister seems to be afoot.

More from the Bill Ayers tape:

I saw a world in flames…
We had a view that we could change things. We believed that we could make a difference. Together we really are going to change things.

We have to open our eyes and see the world as it is. Get a vision of what else could be what the options are, what the alternatives are.
I love the slogan from the world social forum, another world is possible.

I think this is a moment of unprecedented opportunity for movement building. By that I mean a movement is quite diffent than a project or an organization or a campaign although all those things are part of it. A movement is when people can make the connection between, as we used to say in the civil rights system…between a rotting shack and a rotting system.

Comment by wodiej | 2008-10-09 06:42:02

Bill Ayers is EVIL. Violence is NEVER, EVER the answer to change ANYTHING.

Comment by No Way, No How, NoBama | 2008-10-09 06:47:41

A guy who said to “…kill your parents”. A woman who said “dig it” when news spread about the manson murders and described the killers as putting a fork in the victims and eating in the same room. These folks are heroes in their community and yet the DNC moves there and we get a Presidential nominee from there. This is NOT the Democratic party of our parents.

“The Davis Plan and Connections to Obama

In 1963, while serving in Navy Intelligence (from 1958-1967), I read the FBI file on Frank Marshall Davis. He had outlined the Communist plan to take over America from within, by installing educators at all levels of our educational system, gaining control of the media, getting Liberal judges appointed, recruiting, training and backing people to be elected to public office.
I have researched every piece of legislation I can find that the Liberal Democrats have passed since the early sixties, and if you will research for yourself, you will find that they have been slowly moving this country towards Socialism.

When Obama announced he was running for President as an unknown with only one major speech at the DNC (that the DNC and MSM made so much fuss over), he aroused my old Intel suspicions. So I started researching.

I have not found any evidence to convince me he is a Muslim, but I did find his radical associations were unusual. I found that Frank Marshall Davis, who had fled from Chicago to Hawaii in 1958 because of the FBI investigation, met Obama in Hawaii when Obama was 12 years old, and was Obama’s mentor from then till Davis died in 1987.

Davis put Obama in touch with the Socialist Party in Chicago (called the New Party) which Ayers is also a member of, therefore the first “Planned” contact with Ayres. The New Party helped launch and finance Obama’s political Career. Obama…..selected, trained, groomed, and scripted to become the “puppet” leader of the United Socialist States of America.
Since I am in the 4th and final stage of congestive heart failure and will be lucky to live long enough to see the next President take office, why should this election matter to me? Why does Obama’s statement, that he wants a “National Civilian Security Force” as strong and as well-funded as our military (conjuring up images of the old-style USSR police state) matter to me?

IT’S SIMPLE… I LOVE AMERICA”

I sent that well written piece to everyone I know, along with my own comments. I downloaded the complete FBI Files of Frank Marshall Davis a couple days ago myself, Davis was a sexual pervert and a Communist. Obama was introduced to him by his Grandfather who thought he would be a good person to Mentor his Grandson, Obama writes about their relationship in his book. This is the family Obama is from, it’s not like that image Obama likes to portray in his Ads, All American from the wheatfields of Kansas, it’s a family that is very comfortable with a Communist, just birds of a feather. This tells you why the rest of his friends all dislike this country

DEFINITION OF OPERATION CHAOS (durin the DEM Primaries

Operation: Chaos is a plan to keep the Dems guessing as to who will be their candidate all the way to the convention. Reps know their nominee. McCain. Rush asked his listeners to vote Hillary so as to keep her in the race. It seemed to work in Texas and Ohio. It turned a tie into a Clinton win in Texas.

I have now heard that Republicans are now registering as Democrats to vote Hillary in the states that have a closed primary (vote your own party only).

Brokered Democrat Convention?

answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080318212625AAKNrs5

DEFINITION OF OPERATION CHAOS — General Election:

As many as 1/3 of Hillary Clinton supporters and other centrists voting for JOHN SIDNEY MCCAIN and SARAH HEATH PALIN … so stuff it!

LLL – is partially correct.

Rush Limbaugh urges vote for Obama

WASHINGTON (CNN) — He has publicly urged Republicans to vote for Sen. Hillary Clinton to keep the divisive Democratic nomination fight alive, but talk radio host Rush Limbaugh said Wednesday he really wants Sen. Barack Obama to be the party’s nominee.

Rush Limbaugh urged listeners in states with open primaries to cross party lines and support Hillary Clinton.

“I now believe he would be the weakest of the Democrat nominees,” Limbaugh, among the most powerful voices in conservative radio, said on his program. “I now urge the Democrat superdelegates to make your mind up and publicly go for Obama.”

“Barack Obama has shown he cannot get the votes Democrats need to win — blue-collar, working-class people,” Limbaugh said. “He can get effete snobs, he can get wealthy academics, he can get the young, and he can get the black vote, but Democrats do not win with that.”
http://edition.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/05/07/limbaugh.obama/

It was Obama who was urging Republicans to cross over and vote for him in the primary, against Hillary Clinton. Obama campaign was even mailing that out to voters.

And many republicans cast strategic votes for Obama, planning to vote Republican in the fall.

So…. you have to wonder how many votes he is really going to get. A lot of Dems who voted for Hill will not vote Obama. A lot of Repubs who voted for Obama in the primary will vote McCain in the general.

I remember Ayers and his ilk as the ones who ruined the peace movement and damaged the Democratic Party for years. Democrats are still dealing with the fallout. I am convinced that radical Republicans would never have been able to gain power if the anti-war movement had stayed peaceful. The radicalism scared mainstream America so much that they have distrusted the left ever since. I will never forgive them for the long term damage this has caused our country.

I was in college in DC during the late 60’s and early 70’s so I had a front row seat. After the radical groups started disrupting peaceful protests, almost everyone I knew backed off. No one wanted to be associated with violence, after working so hard for peace. The radical people I knew were a bunch of excitement junkies who thought they knew better than everyone else. They had/have a complete disdain for democracy and want to force their beliefs on the rest of us. It amazes me that some people still think these egomaniacs were romantic! So much for standing on principle.

Comment by beebop | 2008-10-09 07:50:38

I feel somewhat the same way. When the killings at Kent State occurred, what struck me more than anything was the tragedy that those doing the shooting were the same damn age as those shot and killed. Those in power were turning a generation against itself. A year later when I went off to study jouralism at a very very liberal university in the east, no one wanted to see any point other than “four dead in Ohio.” They couldn’t picture the campus and so wouldn’t understand the terror of the national guard as they stood in a place they never expected to be forced by orders to stand. This is America. It was not Tiananmen Square. Being people used to theoretical argument the reality of rubber (boots) in the road had no practical meaning to and for them. It is the same with 0bama and his supporters. It’s all theory to them. That money we spend to “rebuild Iraq that we could be spending here?” Guess what, we destroyed that nation. We bear some responsibility to putting it back together.

Amen to the rebuilding. It has worked wonders in Europe.

But to the Kent State incident. One must understand that the leaders of the mob were shouting that the soldiers had blanks and egged them to rush the line.

I do not blame the soldiers nor do I blame the students but I hold in contempt the nut jobs that were inciting the event.

I was in college at the same time BernieO…I remember peaceful anti-war demonstrations/marches on campus. I was sitting in an Ancient History class during one of them…About two of us showed up…I was anti-war, but already scared about the demonstrations.

Then came the “guns on campus” episode…I was at Cornell and remember how we all huddled in the dorms as the black students took over the student union armed with rifles. I remember my friend, a lovely black woman, who was being harrassed by these same people because she wasn’t “black enough.” She finally transferred out of Cornell, which at the time was a top school for history…she was BRILLIANT and I remember walking with her one day before she left, so unhappy about being forced to leave…

This current scene is bringing back so many memories…

I remember, too — I was in Chicago in the late sixties. I quit politics when I discovered that an organization called the PLP was orchestrating the nationwide demonstrations at colleges. These people were reading the Little Red Book (quotations from Chairman Mao) and modelled themselves after the Red Guard in China (who ridiculed, killed, and jailed “western-style” intellectuals like teachers). I didn’t even go to the ‘68 demonstrations because I knew they wouldn’t be “non-violent.” After summer of ‘68 the antiwar movement began to fall apart, and by ‘71 there were bombings and demonstrations almost daily, it seemed. The Weather was underground and the peace movement ground to a halt. McGovern was trounced and the progressive excitement of the sixties with its promises of personal and social liberation faded away.

Don’t confuse Perry with facts. He’s not receptive to reason any longer …

In case you missed it, Rush Limbaugh, the nation’s top-rated talk radio host, was urging Republicans in Texas and Ohio to skip their party’s primary on March 4 and instead cast a vote for Hillary Clinton in order to prolong the fight between her and Barack Obama. And that Tuesday, as media in both states reported, thousands of Republicans did just what Limbaugh and others had suggested — they changed parties to vote for Clinton.

Ayers stood on the flag in the photo at left when Obama already knew him for years. I guess Obama didn’t know about that either.

Every time that picture of Bill Ayres is mentioned I have to add that the “legend in his own mind” is hiding in an alley when he does it.

You say:

After all, Obama dispersed Millions of dollars under the direction of Ayers and the Chicago Annenburg Challenge. A program which was designed to radicalize children.

What was the wording of the winning proposal submitted by Ayers to get some of the 500 million dollar Annenberg Challenge fund for Chicago Schools?

Even on Fox they are mentioning Ambassador Annenberg in connection with the 50 million Ayers won as though Ambassador Annenberg was aware and approved of the day to day disbursements made by Obama.

Huston Texas got over 50 million of the Annenberg challenge money, what did their proposal say, what was the actual use of the challenge money and what were their results?

Lay, Elrod, lay,

Stay, Elrod, stay

Who cares about Ayers…..

In fact, who cares about Obama…

Why in hell would you ever want to put a Republican in the White House again?

The Republicans have done absolutely nothing in the last 8 yrs except screw up this country. Pick an issue and they have screwed it up…

I would vote for anyone other than a Republican to be President of this country.

And even if I were a Republican, the Republican party no longer even represents Republican values. Bill Clinton was more of a Republican than the Republcian party is right now… the Republicans are nothing but big spending, big government, want to be policemen of the planet, who have trampled on individual rights and the consitution…

the Republican party needs to go away and reinvent itself…. it is just full of a bunch of angry white men that are becoming increasingly irrelevant…

Comment by Shiloh | 2008-10-09 07:41:54

And John McCain is more of a democrat than the democratic party right now and there’s your answer.

Comment by Phillip | 2008-10-09 08:06:41

Hard to say that McCain is a Democrat when he voted with George Bush 90% of the time… he voted for 4 out of 5 of Bush’s big spending budgets, he fully supported every aspect of this ridiculous Iraq war… and McCain has done nothing on healthcare (actually voted against adding significantly more children to healthcare for a small cost), education, the environment, on the economy… you name the issue…

his record is actually very conservative… although I will give him that he wants to now nationalize the housing market.. that is pretty communist… although I don’t think many Democrats would be for that…

a guy who became a community organizer and constitutional professor to help the common man….

a guy who fought his way up through local chicago politics….

a guy who has been married to the same wife and has two beautiful kids (never cheated on his wife, nor are his kids pregnant).

this is a guy how worked hard to build something of himself and has always worked to benefit other and not himself…. he did not have it all given to him by his Admiral fathers… and marry into money, wealth and privledge… McCain had it all handed to him on a silver spoon…. he has no connection to middle america and has no record as a politician of fighting for what is important for middle america…

unless you are wealthy it is clear to me who will fight for you…

a vote for the republicans is against your economic interest… unless of course you enjoy mortgaging your kids future with deficits, no or expensive healthcare, a deteriorating environment, a foreign policy that cost us a fortune in lives and treasure and has made us less save… etc..

Obama will finish off our already stifled economy with his tax increases, programs and college credits. By the way, why does Obama want kids getting those college credits to serve with ACORN 100 hours per year?

I have to say it is incomprehensible that he would be registering voters while his mother is dying of ovarian cancer.
Believe me, ovarian cancer is hideous. Family is first??? I have a hard time believing that he cared. He wasn’t broke at the time. He could have been there. He certainly doesn’t understand medical insurance (as he has stated some real humdingers about healthcare). Why wasn’t he there to take care of business?

I can hardly keep from laughing when the politicians talk about catching Bin Laden. Good gravy. That they can say it with a straight face scares me.

America’s reputation will be reestablished as Iraq continues to stabilize. Then people are not so sorry about the war. A lot of the heat was when we were losing the war, or appeared to be losing. The entire world is afraid of another Viet Nam, for obvious reasons.

Obama’s notion that he’s cool and will be popular is a lame political position. You don’t talk your way into a good relationship with countries. It will depend upon actions only.

And right now, the world simply wants our economy stabilized, because they are tanking right along with us. So the next president either makes good economic decisions are he’ll be hated a heck of a lot more than Bush was.

Comment by Phillip | 2008-10-09 11:44:24

what does stabilization mean?

Iraq has cost the country plenty… the cost has been too high… what do we get in return? a very unstable country, and likely to be unstable for many many years, that is heavily influenced by Iran with no particular love for America…. if not outright hatred… we also got a hell of a lot more Arabs willing to put their lives on the line to attack America… we killed a lot of people over there and destroyed an entire country for what…? we are worse off than before we started…

Where I lived we dealt with the the threats years before 9/11. We were the #2 target for Islamic terrorists in Europe. My kid’s bus was swept for bombs with dogs and armed guards every day for 11 years.

The terrorists were we dealing with were from Iraq not Afghanistan or Saudi Arabia.

At least we have a kill box for them now that doesn’t include American Civilians.

where has John’s leadership been for the last 8 years…?

what are his plans to run the country? how is he planning on fixing the economy? tax cuts? What will that do? what about foreign policy? what are his goals there? bomb Iran or fight Russia on behalf of Georgia? what about energy? build more nuclear plants? how much will that cost and who will pay for them? drill for more oil in the U.S.? what will that do? What about healthcare? $5,000 voucher? how much will that pay for? the environment? where has he been for the last 26 yrs on the environment? etc. etc. etc.

what are his plans to run the country? how is he planning on fixing the economy? tax cuts? What will that do? what about foreign policy? what are his goals there? bomb Iran or fight Russia on behalf of Georgia? what about energy? build more nuclear plants? how much will that cost and who will pay for them? drill for more oil in the U.S.? what will that do? What about healthcare? $5,000 voucher? how much will that pay for? the environment? where has he been for the last 26 yrs on the environment? etc. etc. etc.

time for a change…

The change you’re calling for appears to be the total collapse of the financial markets. A nice start for socialism.

Comment by Phillip | 2008-10-09 11:50:18

the financial markets are collapsing because the housing market collapsed… it has been compounded by an uncontrolled growth in mortgage back derivatives…. this was all under the Republicans watch… the large fiscal deficits the Republicans have run up have made managing out of this mess that much more difficult…

To what? A radicalized socialist intollerant society.

Nah I saw East Germany before the fall of the Wall. IT was a failed and fearsome place and that is where Obama wants to take us.

If he cares so much about the little guys struggle why wasn’t he at his mother’s bed side using his Law degree to agrue with the insurance company?

HE is so full of shit he could double the corn crop in Kansas.

Comment by Phillip | 2008-10-09 14:49:15

Barack Obama once told press that his mother’s death at age 53 was the worst experience of his life.

He said, “The biggest mistake I made was not being at my mother’s bedside when she died.” He went on to say, “She was in Hawaii in a hospital, and we didn’t know how fast it was going to take, and I didn’t get there in time.”

There may have been no legal basis to fight the insurance companies. I hope you or a family memember does not get sick one day and have to fight the insurance companies for compensation….

The country did pretty good under Clinton and the democrats… it did not look anything like East Germany and was pretty tolerant… the democrats left the country with a surplus, good employment levels…

Comment by mcnorman | 2008-10-09 22:19:05

Oh Phillip, had he taken a deeper interest in his mothers care, he would have had an inkling. It doesn’t happen overnight. Ask anyone in hospice. Once cancer metastasizes, you have a fair idea of how soon the affected organs will begin to fail.
What a blessing your life must be like!
Fight the insurance companies? I will ask you, what do you believe an insurance policy is for?
They were INTENDED to help you through an illness. Anyone who believes that insurance is supposed to cover “everything” does not understand insurance.
BTW insurance has become a nightmare. Obama’s mother did not have to deal with the issues of today. It is far more complicated now. Healthcare reform? That one is going to take significant time. Years! Again, promises with unrealistic timelines.

I’m calling this statement as racist. Exchange the word ‘white’ for ‘black’ and you have yourself a fight. Enough with the racist remarks. Some of us are sick of Obots playing the race card and don’t plan to take it anymore.

As far as I’m concerned the Democratic party needs a bit of reinventing itself. It is now a party of brainwashed Kool-Aid drinkers who worship a nominee who may not be an American citizen and who associates with known criminals. How relevant is that? Hopefully not very much after Nov. 4th.

Comment by Phillip | 2008-10-09 08:31:02

White, black, yellow, pink, purple… who cares… the fact of the matter is that your Republican party represents an increasingly smaller proportion of the American population… not a very big tent and shrinking…. the majority of woman vote democratic, the majority of hispanics and other minorities vote democratic….. the only majority that votes for Republican are white men… and they are becoming a less powerful and a smaller percentage of the populations… and if some of these white men, who i think will in this election, stop voting against their economic interest, then that majority will decline as well…

you had a chance to grab more woman voters, but you picked the wrong woman candidate…

There is hope. American high schoolers rank about 25th. in educational achievement against other nations. But it does not need to stay that way. Change is coming to Washington.

McCain and Palin will bring change to education and the internet will be used to teach people to think and become wise and skillful and learn to make the right decisions. And mostly without cost to the learner.

Obama will close down the internet for millions by imposing user fees and volume use surcharges. And flip flopping is no way to learn anything.

Since you seem to be a moron, you should vote McCain Palin in the hope to get the opportunity in the future to learn and grow and become productive.

Comment by Phillip | 2008-10-09 14:41:06

How is voting for a Republican change?

McCain surrounds himself entirely with Bush people… they are running his campaign and will be the ones in the positions of a McCain adminstration….

Comment by AnninCA | 2008-10-09 09:04:52

I think the Republican Party is moving to more centrist positions. This year is a transition year, no doubt. But McCain is an excellent model for the centrists. That will open the tent back up.

Frankly, the big tent under the Democrats is no longer comfortable for moderate/conservative Dems. We are rather homeless at this stage.

The Republicans have an excellent opportunity to expand their base here.

Not only did the Dems lose me on Obama, but they lost me entirely. I’m more and more comfortable after 35 years of being Democrat to simply shift parties. We’ll call it the Lieberman effect, eh?

I do not feel the Democratic Party espouses the values I always held dear. And, oddly, the Republicans are demonstrating those values more.

Comment by Phillip | 2008-10-09 11:56:53

i agree that McCain has gone against his own party… immigration was a good example.. but, he has now flipped and has turn more to the right…. his picking of Palin was a very good example of that… she caters to a shrinking base…

Comment by Dee | 2008-10-09 07:48:12

The fact that Obama hired Ayers to work with schools is the point that should truly matter to people. If we don’t want a child rapist teaching our children, do we really want someone with Ayers’ philosophy about making schools “sites of resistance” toward an oppressive system influencing teachers? And that is one of the things he does. He organizes and trains teachers to radicalize their students against the status quo. In other words, let’s have all little Bill Ayers and Bernadette Dohrns running around. Obama endorsed this philosophy by putting Ayers in that position. So Obama is either a liar about his past relationship with Ayers (if you want to believe Obama), a person who wants little radicals in our school system, or is a horrible administrator for not knowing about Ayers. Anyway you put it, he’s not to be trusted.

From old archives”

http://web.archive.org/web/20010723055650/www.newstips.org/blackchicago.html

ORGANIZING AND ISLAM

Organizing in neighborhoods has taken two paths that reflect historic dichotomy between integrationist and nationalist strategies. Many top conununity leaders collaborate on urban issues through city’s grasgroots network, forging multi-racial coalitions, while others take black nationalist approach, looking only within the African-American community for leadership and resources.

In first category are Ani Russell of community policing network, 312-461-0444; Jacky Grimshaw, former strategist for Harold Washington now working an community transportation issues; 773-278-4800, ext. 133; and Barack Obama, 773-684-4809, whose work to empower blacks has included his law practice, community organizing, philanthropy and most recently electoral politics: he is a candidate for state senate. A quiet leader with broad vision of empowerment and redevelopment in the Grand Boulevard neighborhood is Sokoni Karanja, 773-373-5700, whose nonprofit Centers for New Horizons provides social services, youth programs, education and child care.

Chicago is national center of black nationalist thought and organization. Head of the nation’s largest secular black-nationalist organization, the National Black United Front, Conrad Worrill, 773-268-5658, is a professor at Northeastern Illinois University’s Center for Inner City Studies and was prominent speaker at last year’s Million Man Man March. Another Northeastern professor, Robert Starks, 773-268-7500, heads local Task Force for Political Empowerment, along with Worrill was major organizer in Harold Washington campaigns. Radio commentator and former newspaper columnist and publisher, Lu Palmer, 773-624-0242, holds forth two nights a week on a WVON-1450AM political talk show. He founded the Black Independent Political Orgization and Chicago Black United Communities. Eddie Read, 773-663-0704, is president of both organizations mentioned above; CBUC members have shut down construction sites where blacks don’t get fair share of jobs. Salim Muwakkil, 773-643-3730, is senior editor of In These Times and contributing columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times. He has done extensive coverage of black activism and the black nationalist movement.

Chicago is home base for African-American Muslim organizations. Muslims have been visible forces for organizing and stability in many neighborhoods, only some of them aligned with controversial leader Louis Farrakhan and his Nation of Islam. Organizer Kublai Toure, 773-538-7217, is a member of Jim Brown’s Amer-I-Can youth organization, with projects ranging from helping arrange gang traces to trips to Chicago Cubs baseball Sitines for public housing youth. Mikail Bilal, 773-721-6588, is chek of the Muslim addiction-prevention group Millati Wami, with twice-weekly meetings on South Drexel St. for recovering substance abusers. Abdul Rashid Akbar is the Muslim chaplin at Cook County jail, 773-721-6588, where many incarcerated African-Americans convert to Islam. The Nation of Islam’s contact point for the media and editor-chief of The Final Call newspaper is James Muhammad, 773-602-1230. Ayesha Mustafaa reports on the larger Muslim community as editor of The Muslim Journal, 312-243-7600.

By the way, the excuse that Obama didn’t know the background of Ayers when he met at his house is not believable.

Obama was at Columbia U in NYC from 1981 to 1983. The 1981 Brinks truck robbery by the Weather Underground was front page news in the NYTimes. The robbery of the Brinks truck was in Rockland County, N.Y. where a Brink’s guard was shot to death while loading moneybags into the back of the truck, and two police officers were later killed at a roadblock in nearby Nyack, N.Y. Here is a headline from the NYTimes in Oct 1981:

2 WOMEN IN BRINK’S CASE IDENTIFIED WITH WEATHERMEN FROM START IN ‘69
By PAUL L. MONTGOMERY (NYT); Metropolitan Desk

October 22, 1981, Thursday

Late City Final Edition, Section B, Page 4, Column 1, 1723 words

[ DISPLAYING ABSTRACT ]
The lives of the two women arrested in the Brink’s robbery in Nanuet, N.Y. -Katherine Boudin and Judith Alice Clark – had been entwined with the terrorist Weathermen movement since its inception in 1969. But they had apparently gone separate ways since the armed band of 40 or so …

In 1981, Bernardine Dohrn was sent to jail for refusing to testify against the Weather Underground and release from jail in 1983. again this news was in the NY Times.

“THE CITY; Bernardine Dohrn Freed by Judge
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
Published: January 6, 1983
A Federal judge has freed Bernardine Dohrn, who was jailed seven months ago for refusing to cooperate with a Federal grand jury investigating the 1981 Brink’s armored-car robbery in Rockland County.
. . . ”
http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9C00E3D91238F935A35752C0A965948260&scp=3&sq=Brinks%20Dohrn%201981&st=cse

So, how could Obama not recongnize these names? He was in college at Columbia U one of the most politically involved campuses in the US. Unless he was in a drug-induced stupor, he would have had to know about Ayers and Dohrn.

maybe that’s the story. Does anyone doubt that the NYTimes and the rest of the media would be all over NY and the Columbia campus digging up dirt on Palin, if these stories were about her.

McCain-Palin 2008 Launches New Web Ad: “Ayers”

ARLINGTON, VA — Today, McCain-Palin 2008 released its latest web ad, entitled “Ayers.” The ad highlights Barack Obama’s long-standing relationship with unrepentant domestic terrorist Bill Ayers. From his political introduction at Bill Ayers’ house in 1995 to their service together on two boards, Barack Obama has long known Bill Ayers but has not been straightforward with the American people. This is an issue of judgment and candor and Barack Obama has not told the American people the truth.

VIEW THE WEB AD HERE

Script For “Ayers” (WEB :90)

ANNCR: Barack Obama and domestic terrorist Bill Ayers. Friends. They’ve worked together for years.

But Obama tries to hide it. Why?

Obama launched his political career in Ayers’ living room.

Ayers and Obama ran a radical “education” foundation, together.

They wrote the foundation’s by-laws, together.

Obama was the foundation’s first chairman.

Reports say they, “distributed more than $100 million to ideological allies with no discernible improvement in education.”

When their relationship became an issue, Obama just responded, “This is a guy who lives in my neighborhood.”

That’s it?

We know Bill Ayers ran the “violent left wing activist group” called Weather Underground.

We know Ayers’ wife was on the FBI’s 10 Most Wanted list.

We know they bombed the Capitol. The Pentagon. A judge’s home.

We know Ayers said, “I don’t regret setting bombs. …. I feel we didn’t do enough.”

But Obama’s friendship with terrorist Ayers isn’t the issue.

The issue is Barack Obama’s judgment and candor.

When Obama just says, “This is a guy who lives in my neighborhood.”

Americans say, “Where’s the truth, Barack?”

Barack Obama. Too risky for America.

JOHN MCCAIN: I’m John McCain and I approve this message.

Barack Obama’s Relationship With Ayers “Went Much Deeper, Ran Much Longer And Was Much More Political Than Obama Said.” CNN’S DREW GRIFFIN: “Barack Obama confirmed during a primary debate that he knew Ayers and when pressed, said they served on a charitable foundation board together. And Obama condemned Ayers support of violence. But the relationship between Obama and Ayers went much deeper, ran much longer, and was much more political than Obama said.” (CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360,” 10/6/08)

Barack Obama First Met William Ayers In 1995 During His First State Senate Campaign, When Obama Held Event At Home Of Ayers And Wife Bernardine Dohrn, Which One Attendee Said Was Aimed At “Launching Him” In First Campaign For State Senate. “In 1995, State Senator Alice Palmer introduced her chosen successor, Barack Obama, to a few of the district’s influential liberals at the home of two well known figures on the local left: William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn. While Ayers and Dohrn may be thought of in Hyde Park as local activists, they’re better known nationally as two of the most notorious — and unrepentant — figures from the violent fringe of the 1960s anti-war movement. … ‘I can remember being one of a small group of people who came to Bill Ayers’ house to learn that Alice Palmer was stepping down from the senate and running for Congress,’ said Dr. Quentin Young, a prominent Chicago physician and advocate for single-payer health care, of the informal gathering at the home of Ayers and his wife, Dohrn. ‘[Palmer] identified [Obama] as her successor.’ … Dr. Young and another guest, Maria Warren, described it similarly: as an introduction to Hyde Park liberals of the handpicked successor to Palmer, a well-regarded figure on the left. ‘When I first met Barack Obama, he was giving a standard, innocuous little talk in the living room of those two legends-in-their-own-minds, Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn,’ Warren wrote on her blog in 2005. ‘They were launching him — introducing him to the Hyde Park community as the best thing since sliced bread.’” (Ben Smith, “Obama Once Visited ’60s Radicals,” The Politico, 1/22/08)

CNN: The Meeting Was Widely Considered As “Barack Obama’s Political Coming Out Party And It Was Hosted By Bill Ayers.” CNN’S DREW GRIFFIN: “Anderson, this meeting at Bill Ayers home has been classified in many different ways. What I can tell you from the two people who were actually there, is number one, former Senator Alice Palmer says she, in no way organized this meeting and she was invited and attended it briefly. ANNCR: Ayers and Obama ran a radical “education” foundation, together.

Barack Obama Led Education Foundation That “Poured More Than $100 Million Into The Hands Of Community Organizers And Radical Education Activists” And “Translated Mr. Ayers’s Radicalism Into Practice.” “Despite having authored two autobiographies, Barack Obama has never written about his most important executive experience. From 1995 to 1999, he led an education foundation called the Chicago Annenberg Challenge (CAC), and remained on the board until 2001. The group poured more than $100 million into the hands of community organizers and radical education activists. … The CAC’s agenda flowed from Mr. Ayers’s educational philosophy, which called for infusing students and their parents with a radical political commitment, and which downplayed achievement tests in favor of activism. In the mid-1960s, Mr. Ayers taught at a radical alternative school, and served as a community organizer in Cleveland’s ghetto. … CAC translated Mr . Ayers’s radicalism into practice. Instead of funding schools directly, it required schools to affiliate with ‘external partners,’ which actually got the money. Proposals from groups focused on math/science achievement were turned down. Instead CAC disbursed money through various far-left community organizers, such as the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (or Acorn).” (Stanley Kurtz, Op-Ed, “Obama and Ayers Pushed Radicalism On Schools,” The Wall Street Journal, 9/23/08)

From March Of 1995 Until September Of 1997, Barack Obama And Ayers Attended At Least Seven Meetings Together Relating To The Chicago Annenberg Challenge. (Chicago Annenberg Challenge, Board Of Directors Meeting, Minutes Of The Board, 3/15/95, 3/31/95, 4/13/95, 6/5/95, 9/30/97; National Annenberg Challenge Evaluation Meeting, List Of Participants, 5/24/95; Chicago Annenberg Challenge, Chicago School Reform Collaborative Meeting, Minutes, 10/23/96)

CNN: The Paths Of Barack Obama And Ayers “Repeatedly Crossed” At The Annenberg Challenge. CNN’S DREW GRIFFIN: “One place their paths repeatedly crossed, according to a CNN review of board minutes and other records, was Chicago’s Annenberg Challenge project where a $50 million grant from the Annenberg Foundation matched locally raised funds to improve schools. According to participants and project records, Bill Ayers fought to bring the Annenberg grant to Chicago, Barack Obama was recruited as its chair. For seven years, Bill Ayers and Obama among many others, worked on funding for education projects, including some experiments supported by Ayers.” (CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360,” 10/6/08)

ANNCR: They wrote the foundation’s by-laws, together.

Barack Obama “Served On The Board’s Governance Committee With Mr. Obama, And Worked With Him To Craft CAC Bylaws.” “The Daley documents show that Mr. Ayers sat as an ex-officio member of the board Mr. Obama chaired through CAC’s first year. He also served on the board’s governance committee with Mr. Obama, and worked with him to craft CAC bylaws. Mr. Ayers made presentations to board meetings chaired by Mr. Obama. Mr. Ayers spoke for the Collaborative before the board. Likewise, Mr. Obama periodically spoke for the board at meetings of the Collaborative.” (Stanley Kurtz, Op-Ed, “Obama and Ayers Pushed Radicalism On Schools,” The Wall Street Journal, 9/23/08)

Bill Ayers Was Asked To Help Barack Obama Formulate The Chicago Annenberg Challenge By-Laws. (Chicago Annenberg Challenge Board Of Directors Minutes, 3/15/95)

ANNCR: Obama was the foundation’s first chairman.

Barack Obama “Was The First Chairman Of The Chicago Annenberg Challenge.” “In the 1990s, Ayers was instrumental in starting the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, which was awarded nearly $50 million by a foundation to help reform Chicago schools. Obama was the first chairman of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge and Republicans have been highlighting his ties to Ayers through the group.” (Pete Yost, “University Won’t Open Obama-Related Records Now,” The Associated Press, 8/19/08)

ANNCR: Reports say they, “distributed more than $100 million to ideological allies with no discernible improvement in education.”

Chicago Annenberg Challenge: “Distributed More Than $100 Million To Ideological Allies With No Discernible Improvement In Public Education.” “With Ayers directing the project’s operational arm and Obama overseeing its financial affairs until 1999, the Chicago Annenberg Challenge distributed more than $100 million to ideological allies with no discernible improvement in public education.” (Editorial, “Obama’s Friend, America’s Enemy,” National Review, 8/27/08)

ANNCR: When their relationship became an issue, Obama just responded, “This is a guy who lives in my neighborhood.” That’s it?

Barack Obama On Ayers At Democratic Debate: “This Is A Guy Who Lives In My Neighborhood.” “This is a guy who lives in my neighborhood, who’s a professor of English in Chicago, who I know and who I have not received some official endorsement from. He’s not somebody who I exchange ideas from on a regular basis.” (Sen. Barack Obama, ABC Democratic Presidential Debate, Philadelphia, PA, 4/16/08)

ANNCR: We know Bill Ayers ran the “violent left wing activist group” called Weather Underground.

Bill Ayers Was A Leader Of “The Violent Left-Wing Activist Group The Weather Underground.” “Senator Obama’s ties to a former leader of the violent left-wing activist group the Weather Underground are drawing new scrutiny as he battles Senator Clinton for the Democratic presidential nomination.” (Russell Berman, “Obama’s Ties to Left Come Under Scrutiny,” The New York Sun, 2/19/08)

ANNCR: We know Ayers’ wife was on the FBI’s 10 Most Wanted list.

Bill Ayers’ Wife, Weather Underground Leader Bernardine Dohrn, Appeared On FBI’s “Most Wanted” List. “Bernardine Dohrn, the former leader of the militant Weather Underground who turned herself in after 11 years on the run, says she looks forward to spending time with family and friends and intends to continue a rebellion against ‘the system.’ … ‘I remain committed to the struggle ahead,’ Ms. Dohrn told reporters Wednesday after a court appearance. ‘Given the system which perpetuates … harsh oppression and suffering, rebellion is inevitable and continuous.’ Ms. Dohrn, 38, pleaded innocent to nine charges — seven stemming from the 1969 ‘Days of Rage’ anti-war demonstration in Chicago and two more for jumping bail. She was released on $25,000 bond and a hearing was set for Jan. 13. Ms. Dohrn, who once appeared on the FBI’s most-wanted list, arrived in court with a lawyer and William Ayers, another ex-radical who said he lived with Ms. Dohrn in New York and is the father of her two children.” (James Litke, “Fugitive Leader Surrenders With No Regrets,” The Associated Press, 12/4/80)

ANNCR: We know they bombed the Capitol. The Pentagon. A judge’s home.

In The 1970s, Weather Underground Bombed The Capitol And The Pentagon. “As an Illinois state senator in 2001, Mr. Obama accepted a $200 contribution from William Ayers, a founding member of the group that bombed the U.S. Capitol and the Pentagon during the 1970s.” (Russell Berman, “Obama’s Ties to Left Come Under Scrutiny,” The New York Sun, 2/19/08)

New York State Supreme Court Justice’s House Was Bombed By Weather Underground. “In February 1970, my father, a New York State Supreme Court justice, was presiding over the trial of the so-called “Panther 21,” members of the Black Panther Party indicted in a plot to bomb New York landmarks and department stores. Early on the morning of February 21, as my family slept, three gasoline-filled firebombs exploded at our home on the northern tip of Manhattan, two at the front door and the third tucked neatly under the gas tank of the family car. (Today, of course, we’d call that a car bomb.) A neighbor heard the first two blasts and, with the remains of a snowman I had built a few days earlier, managed to douse the flames beneath the car. That was an act whose courage I fully appreciated only as an adult, an act that doubtless saved multiple lives that night. … Though no one was ever caught or tried for the attempt on my family’s life , there was never any doubt who was behind it. Only a few weeks after the attack, the New York contingent of the Weathermen blew themselves up making more bombs in a Greenwich Village townhouse. The same cell had bombed my house, writes Ron Jacobs in The Way the Wind Blew: A History of the Weather Underground. And in late November that year, a letter to the Associated Press signed by Bernardine Dohrn, Ayers’s wife, promised more bombings.” (John M. Murtagh, “Fire In The Night,” City Journal, 4/30/08)

In His Book, Bill Ayers Writes About Participating In The Bombings Of The Capitol And Pentagon. “Now he has written a book, ‘Fugitive Days’ (Beacon Press, September). Mr. Ayers, who is 56, calls it a memoir, somewhat coyly perhaps, since he also says some of it is fiction. He writes that he participated in the bombings of New York City Police Headquarters in 1970, of the Capitol building in 1971, the Pentagon in 1972.” (Dinitia Smith, “No Regrets For A Love Of Explosives,” The New York Times, 9/11/01)

ANNCR: We know Ayers said, “I don’t regret setting bombs. . I feel we didn’t do enough.”

In The September 11, 2001 New York Times, Ayers Was Quoted Saying “I Don’t Regret Setting Bombs … I Feel We Didn’t Do Enough.” “‘I don’t regret setting bombs,’ Bill Ayers said. ‘I feel we didn’t do enough.’ Mr. Ayers, who spent the 1970’s as a fugitive in the Weather Underground, was sitting in the kitchen of his big turn-of-the-19th-century stone house in the Hyde Park district of Chicago.” (Dinitia Smith, “No Regrets For A Love Of Explosives,” The New York Times, 9/11/01)

ANNCR: But Obama’s friendship with terrorist Ayers isn’t the issue. The issue is Barack Obama’s judgment and candor. When Obama just says, “This is a guy who lives in my neighborhood.” Americans say, “Where’s the truth, Barack?” Barack Obama. Too risky for America. JOHN MCCAIN: I’m John McCain and I approve this message.

Thank you very much Uppity for these vids & article.

The following link has been posted on No Quarter before, but the story it tells is so horrifying and telling of Ayers’ character that it should be posted again and again until everyone is aware of it:

Lots of people here and on Hot Air are pooh-poohing the Ayers ads as “Old news” and “So what?”.
Don’t forget, folks, that it may be old news to us who have been following this for some time, but I’ll bet it’s new news to about 75% of the voting public.
The people where I work watch cable news and check the political blogs. Two weeks ago we were having a chat. I mentioned Ayers name and got a blank look and the response “Who’s that?”.
I think the McCain was smart. Get the Economic thing signed turn that page, and then open the door and let the sunlight in on the cockroaches. Now Ayers etc. is being widely discussed. This is like a skilled detective working over a perp – get them talking so they trip themselves up.
Things can only go from bad to worse for Obummer and his ship of rotten fools.

Comment by Khan Krum | 2008-10-09 09:46:09

These evil people are supposed to be so smart, yet the first word of Bernadine Dohrn’s horrifying song is grammatically incorrect: ‘lay’ is a transitive verb — it would be correct had she said ‘lay an egg for me, chicken’; ‘lie’ is intransitive and is the correct choice. I hate to even parse this stupid thing — it oozes such vile hatred and cruelty that she should still be rotten away in prison for it and all her other heinous acts.

Comment by sproutingly | 2008-10-09 10:24:36

The poem belies their grandiose romanticism. It is the work a mean mind, a little mind. They type of mind that would be amused by pulling the wings off of flies. Whoever penned the phrase “the banality of evil” could use Dohrn to prove their point.

I have to say that by looking at the one photo of Bill Ayers standing on the American flag, I would need no further incentive to stay the hell away from him. I wouldn’t need to know about his terrorist past. The photo repels me all by itself. What is Obama’s problem?

So….with all the ranting going on here….what is the big news from the Mccain’s camp?. Hope it isn’t some new tax package and it is something worth watching and knowing about “Kenya man’s” illegal activities. I am getting very disappointed everytime they announce something and the MSM refuse to give it legs.

this stinks more than Obama’s plane.

Thank you for the excellent article and rather frightening videos.

No, Bill and Bernadine have not changed. They scare me…and MO was on Larry King last night and said “no body cares what happened 40 years ago”.

That’s their spin, so ours must be to show these very current remarks of these people….

FYI, Ayers’ “radical education” agenda is built around the author Paulo Freire, a brazillian educator…notable books include “education as the practice of freedom”, and it was education designed to increase political awareness of peasants in brazille…educational awareness leading to fundamental changes in government and education.

The chicago education ayers wants to see is all about revolution.

He has not changed.

Agreed, that poem is both morally and grammatically horrific. From the wording and rhythm I am guessing it is a rewrite of the Dylan song “Lay, Lady Lay…” which of course was also grammatically incorrect but didn’t celebrate attempted murder…!

Thank god for “Beverly Hills Chihuahua” which I escaped to later…

I have a shameful secret desire to see this movie…

The actual “relationship” between Barack Obama and William Ayers was so tenuous it wouldn’t even be worthy of comment, were it not for the desparation of the McCain campaign to find any topic for fabricated political attacks.

The “relationship” comes down to this:

They lived in the same Chicago neighborhood;

They served on the same Chicago anti-poverty board, and both were selected to serve on the board of the Annenberg Chicago Challenge foundation;

Ayers hosted a “coffee” for Obama, on the occasion of Obama’s first run for elected office;

Ayers donated 200 bucks to an early Obama campaign.

Suggesting this sort of casual association somehow reflects on the character of Barack Obama is ludicrous. It’s the same as suggesting that your own character is somehow questionable because a PTA member you served with has a questionable past; that you’re depraved because an acquaintance who worked for the same employer as you and shared lunches at the same table is depraved; that your neighbor’s past tells us something about you.

That McCain and Palin are advancing this bogus attack certainly tells us something about McCain and Palin. Should we just them by their past and current associations? McCain has a genuinely close relationship with Charles Keating in his own past; he’s currently a close friend with G. Gordon Lidy, a convicted felon whose unrealized plans included a fire-bombing to destroy court evidence and a political assassination or two. Palin has her past relationship with Alaskan separatist extremists; she’s also had a close working relationship with Senator Stevens of Alaska, who’s seeking both reelection and to stay out of jail. Guilt by association is a double edged sword.

Comment by Amalia | 2008-10-09 13:08:18

ziggy you are wrong.

Ayers launched Obama’s campaign at his home. it was not a simple coffee.
Obama was in charge of how that event went down.

it was not an anti povertyboard. it was a foundation which gave money
to Wright and to Palestinian causes.

Obama came to work at the Annenberg Challenge Grant, not foundation, because Ayers said it was good…read Steve Diamond. and Ayers wrote
the grant that started the program. do you actually think Ayers would not be involved in who was running the program he created?

Michelle Obama put Ayers and Barack on a panel together in 1997 to talk about Juvenile Justice, treating criminals who happen to be young with a
soft hand. and Obama’s record on criminal justice is a soft as overripe fruit. just like Ayers and Dohrn’s positions on crime.

Ayers is not just some person who he happens to be near.

and, besides, there is a pattern of Obama getting close to people who turn out to be horrible, Wright, Pfleger, Ayers and Dohrn, and claiming that
he does not know anything about their bad acts.

obama has terrible judgment.

Let’s see…they just casually happen to serve on the same organization’s board. Not quite.

Ayers wrote the grant Request for THE CAC. When it was approved then he hired Obama to the Board. Don’t imply otherwise. Together they wrote the guidelines for money disbursement. That ain’t casual. Barack’s wife worked with and replaced Ayers wife at the law firm.

Why did Michelle relinquish her law license right after that?

This all stink like yesterday’s diapers guys. Come clean quit hiding then dodging.

OBAMA CONTINUES LIES ABOUT AYERS CONNECTION
First Obama claims that over a TWENTY YEAR period, he never heard a single anti-American racist sermon from Jeremiah Wright … never noticed the anti-American racist literature in the church’s lobby … never agreed to the ‘Black Values System’ that all the church members swore to … never subscribed to the Marxist ‘Black Separation Theology’ espoused on the church’s website … never knew anti-American racist Louis Farrakhan, who the church awarded a life time achievement award to … and, never knew unrepentant terrorist William Ayers, when Obama launched his campaign from Ayer’s living room, sat on a board together, and whose wives worked at the same law firm
http://www.prolifeblogs.com/articles/archives/2008/10/devastating_vid.php
http://thehive.modbee.com/?q=node/9639
. Obama also worked with Acorn, who has been caught in massive voter fraud, in behalf of Obama. Obama obviously shares an anti-American racist, and criminal philosophy with some very unsavory people, continues to lie about it, and does not have the character, or integrity to be President of the United States of America !!!

Comment by LLL | 2008-10-09 13:40:42

NO WAY. You are wrong. Obama thought Limbaugh had an impact. So much so, that David Axelrod issued statement in Pa, and Indiana about Rush, AND complained to the voting commissions in each state about what Limbaugh was doing. And in some states, they were getting voters to sign papers saying their vote was honest.

Can some explain in a straightforward why Obama’s relationship with Ayers should disturb us and says something vital and negative about his ability to govern as president, but McCain’s relationship with G. Gordon Liddy — another “unrepentant” criminal from the same era who actually WAS convicted of major felonies, served time, was released only due to presidential pardon, and who has given mcccain $5000 ($1000 THIS YEAR), hosted a fundraiser for mccain in 1998, and of whom McCain said “Im proud of you” on Lidyy’s radio show — is meaningless?

And spare me the comments about how I’m “blind” or a “koolaid drinker” or whatever — just a few sentences explaining why one relationship is critically important and the other meaningless. thanks

Comment by Dee | 2008-10-09 20:31:06

1. Ayers’ philosophy is to consider schools “sites of resistance” to fight oppression.

2. Ayers has attempted to organize and train teachers to get their students to politicize and radicalize against the status quo.

3. The status quo is something like your employer, your police force, the government.

4. Are you comfortable with your child’s teacher controlling his or her mind?

5. Obama selected Ayers and put him in charge of school projects focusing on activism instead of academic competition. No improvement was seen in performance of the schools after the project was concluded.

6. Did Obama know about Ayers philosophy on education? If yes, he endorses it. If no, then what kind of an administrator can he be to not review someone before assigning him a $50 million project?

7. G. Gordon Liddy did not bomb any buildings, no one died because of him, he did go to jail for 5.5 years (including 100 days in solitary)and his sentence was commuted by Democratic President Jimmy Carter. Liddy is not responsible for framing our children’s minds.

8. Ayers bombed the Pentagon, the Capitol and the NYC Police Headquarters in addition to other places in and around Chicago. He instilled terror in the minds of everyone back then who had to walk out of their home and go to work every day. How did you feel on 9/11/01 and for days after? We lived that terror in little bursts throughout the 60s and early 70s because of Ayers and other radicals just like him. Police officers and a guard lost their lives because of Ayers’ group. And in an interview with the NY Times published ironically on 9/11/01, Ayers stated that he did not regret setting bombs and that he wished he could have done more. “Guilty as hell, free as a bird. American is a great country” is what Ayers said when he escaped a conviction based on a surveillance technicality. That’s the kind of person who could be influencing the children of America. And Obama has a number of mentors, friends and associates just like him.

The first time I read this quote, I thought it was dangerously true. Then I really started pondering it and thought how would this apply to our own lives/careers? Let’s look at it again to see how absurd it is.

-You couldn’t get a job at McDonalds and become district manager after 143 days of experience.
-You couldn’t become chief of surgery after 143 days of experience of being a surgeon.
-You couldn’t get a job as a teacher and be the superintendent after 143 days of experience.
-You couldn’t join the military and become a colonel after a 143 days of experience.
-You couldn’t get a job as a reporter and become the nightly news anchor after 143 days of experience.
BUT….

‘From the time Barack Obama was sworn in as a United State Senator, to the time he announced he was forming a Presidential exploratory committee, he logged 143 days of experience in the Senate.
That’s how many days the Senate was actually in session and working.
After 143 days of work experience, Obama believed he was ready to be Commander In Chief, Leader of the Free World, and fill the shoes of Abraham Lincoln,FDR, JFK and Ronald Reagan. 143 days?
We all have to start somewhere. The senate is a good start, but after 143 days, that’s all it is – a start.

AND, strangely, a large sector of the American public seems to feel comfortable with this and campaigning for him.

We wouldn’t accept this in our own line of work, yet some are OK with this for the President of the United States of America?

Come on folks, we are not voting for the next American Idol.
