The only regret is that a sack of crap such as yourself didn't do 5 years in the Hanoi Hilton instead. Of course, you would have been pissing yourself and wimpering by the second day.

The first time I read this quote, I thought it was dangerously true. Then I really started pondering it and thought how would this apply to our own lives/careers? Let’s look at it again to see how absurd it is.

-You couldn’t get a job at McDonalds and become district manager after 143 days of experience.
-You couldn’t become chief of surgery after 143 days of experience of being a surgeon.
-You couldn’t get a job as a teacher and be the superintendent after 143 days of experience.
-You couldn’t join the military and become a colonel after a 143 days of experience.
-You couldn’t get a job as a reporter and become the nightly news anchor after 143 days of experience.
BUT….

‘From the time Barack Obama was sworn in as a United State Senator, to the time he announced he was forming a Presidential exploratory committee, he logged 143 days of experience in the Senate.
That’s how many days the Senate was actually in session and working.
After 143 days of work experience, Obama believed he was ready to be Commander In Chief, Leader of the Free World, and fill the shoes of Abraham Lincoln,FDR, JFK and Ronald Reagan. 143 days?
We all have to start somewhere. The senate is a good start, but after 143 days, that’s all it is - a start.

AND, strangely, a large sector of the American public seems to feel comfortable with this and campaigning for him.

We wouldn’t accept this in our own line of work, yet some are OK with this for the President of the United States of America?

Come on folks, we are not voting for the next American Idol.

Oh Phillip, had he taken a deeper interest in his mothers care, he would have had an inkling. It doesn't happen overnight. Ask anyone in hospice. Once cancer metastasizes, you have a fair idea of how soon the affected organs will begin to fail.
What a blessing your life must be like!
Fight the insurance companies? I will ask you, what do you believe an insurance policy is for?
They were INTENDED to help you through an illness. Anyone who believes that insurance is supposed to cover "everything" does not understand insurance.
BTW insurance has become a nightmare. Obama's mother did not have to deal with the issues of today. It is far more complicated now. Healthcare reform? That one is going to take significant time. Years! Again, promises with unrealistic timelines.

Who do you believe created this mess?
Hint: The same people who continuously promise the moon. Tell me where is all that money going to come from???
Your messiah has yet to answer, but he sure makes pretty promises.

I am FAR from wealthy. Your man has worked VERY hard to create alliances which will afford him the highest office in the country.
Yes, I see Obama as a loving human. He never ceases to amaze me. Particularly when he brings up his dying mother.
I have to say it is incomprehensible that he would be registering voters while his mother is dying of ovarian cancer.
Believe me, ovarian cancer is hideous. Family is first??? I have a hard time believing that he cared. He wasn't broke at the time. He could have been there. He certainly doesn't understand medical insurance (as he has stated some real humdingers about healthcare). Why wasn't he there to take care of business?

1. Ayers' philosophy is to consider schools "sites of resistance" to fight oppression.

2. Ayers has attempted to organize and train teachers to get their students to politicize and radicalize against the status quo.

3. The status quo is something like your employer, your police force, the government.

4. Are you comfortable with your child's teacher controlling his or her mind?

5. Obama selected Ayers and put him in charge of school projects focusing on activism instead of academic competition. No improvement was seen in performance of the schools after the project was concluded.

6. Did Obama know about Ayers philosophy on education? If yes, he endorses it. If no, then what kind of an administrator can he be to not review someone before assigning him a $50 million project?

7. G. Gordon Liddy did not bomb any buildings, no one died because of him, he did go to jail for 5.5 years (including 100 days in solitary)and his sentence was commuted by Democratic President Jimmy Carter. Liddy is not responsible for framing our children's minds.

8. Ayers bombed the Pentagon, the Capitol and the NYC Police Headquarters in addition to other places in and around Chicago. He instilled terror in the minds of everyone back then who had to walk out of their home and go to work every day. How did you feel on 9/11/01 and for days after? We lived that terror in little bursts throughout the 60s and early 70s because of Ayers and other radicals just like him. Police officers and a guard lost their lives because of Ayers' group. And in an interview with the NY Times published ironically on 9/11/01, Ayers stated that he did not regret setting bombs and that he wished he could have done more. "Guilty as hell, free as a bird. American is a great country" is what Ayers said when he escaped a conviction based on a surveillance technicality. That's the kind of person who could be influencing the children of America. And Obama has a number of mentors, friends and associates just like him.

Can some explain in a straightforward why Obama's relationship with Ayers should disturb us and says something vital and negative about his ability to govern as president, but McCain's relationship with G. Gordon Liddy -- another "unrepentant" criminal from the same era who actually WAS convicted of major felonies, served time, was released only due to presidential pardon, and who has given mcccain $5000 ($1000 THIS YEAR), hosted a fundraiser for mccain in 1998, and of whom McCain said "Im proud of you" on Lidyy's radio show -- is meaningless?

And spare me the comments about how I'm "blind" or a "koolaid drinker" or whatever -- just a few sentences explaining why one relationship is critically important and the other meaningless. thanks
