(The murder, firebombing, and kidnapping plots were never carried out; the break-ins were.) During the 1990s, Liddy reportedly instructed his radio audience on multiple occasions on how to shoot Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms agents and also reportedly said he had named his shooting targets after Bill and Hillary Clinton.

It has nothing to do with who I support — it’s a questions of statistics and tactics. The all-Ayers tactic isn’t working and time is running out.

Part of the charges against him involved his plots to murder people. He got out of prison when he did only because Carter pardoned him, to help the country move on from that era. He has never recanted for what he did and called his incarceration a “prisoner of war.”

If you want to argue that Liddy’s history is less controversial or offensive to many people than Ayers’ be my guest. I and many others will never agree with that.
