Barack Worked For ACORN, Promises to Do So Again

Despite Barack Obama’s insistence that he had nothing to do with ACORN, insisting that his work with Illinois Project Vote was independent, but documentary evidence suggests otherwise. Here is what Barack’s Fight the Smears site states:

Barack Obama Never Organized with ACORN

Discredited Republican voter-suppression guru Ken Blackwell is attacking Barack Obama with naked lies about his supposed connection to ACORN.

• Fact: Barack was never an ACORN community organizer.
• Fact: ACORN never hired Obama as a trainer, organizer, or any type of employee.
• Fact: ACORN was not part of Project Vote, the successful voter registration drive Barack ran in 1992.

Before showing you that this is not a true statement, let’s hear from Barack’s own mouth his promise–I REPEAT, HIS PROMISE–to let ACORN help shape his administration’s agenda even before he is inaugurated.

In light of Barack’s early association with ACORN, this promise makes sense. To explore whether or no Illinois Project Vote was “independent” I did a search of corporate records. Well, lookee here.

The trail is a bit convoluted but very revealing.

First, PROJECT VOTE is a trademarked name and is registered at the address: 1024 ELYSIAN FIELDS AVE, NEW ORLEANS, LA 70117-8402.

Gee, who else shared that address? Remember the almost $800,000 that Barack’s campaign gave initially to Citizen Services Inc., but later insisted should have been listed as ACORN? Yep. The same address.

Barack’s Illinois Project Vote was incorporated as follows:

Filing Number: 55191247
Name: PROJECT VOTE FUND
Name Type: LEGAL
Business Type: NON-FOR-PROFIT CORPORATION
Status: REVOKED
Foreign State of Incorporation: DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA
Place Incorporated: DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA
Date Incorporated: 08/16/1988
Anniversary Month: AUGUST
Terms: PERPETUAL
Additional Information: NOT REGULATED BY ILLINOIS COMMERCE COMMISSION
Purpose: CHARITABLE OR BENEVOLENT

Registered Agent
Name: DEMPSEY, MARY A
Title: REGISTERED AGENT
Registered Agent Address 54 W HUBBARD ST STE 400
CHICAGO, IL 60610-4669
As of Date: 08/16/1988

A subsequent search on the District of Columbia indicates the following:

Filing Number: 852582
Name: PROJECT VOTE FUND
Business Type: DOMESTIC BUSINESS
Status: REVOKED
Place Incorporated: DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA
Date Incorporated: 07/15/1985

Registered Agent
Name: GLASMAN, FERNANDO B
Title: REGISTERED AGENT
Registered Agent Address 1424 16TH ST NW STE 101
WASHINGTON, DC 20036-2211

I then did a further search on the Chicago address–54 W. Hubbard Street, Suite 400. Guess who else had an office at that address but on the Second floor? Cullen J. Davis (Suite 205).

So what?

Well, guess who gave Barack his first job as a lawyer in Chicago? Cullen’s dad, Allison Davis. Want to know more about Cullen, check out Susan UnPC’s piece from earlier this year on Cullen Davis.

In some quarters Cullen Davis would be considered a slumlord. According to the Chicago Tribune report on the death of a child at a housing complex owned by Davis’ company, UPA, we learn:

UPA is run by Cullen Davis. His father, Allison, also has been an official with the firm, according to state records. Cullen Davis also declined to comment because of the pending lawsuit.

HUD inspectors reported that the conditions of the gates worsened over the last two years, records show. In 2006, the problem was judged to be of midlevel severity, with a rating of 2 on a scale of 1 to 3. The level was raised to 3 in two subsequent inspections, in April and December of last year.

Under HUD’s inspection system, housing authorities are required to immediately fix problems regarded as pressing health and safety concerns, such as exposed wiring and blocked fire exits. Inspectors found many such violations on their last visit to the Cabrini-Green Rowhouses and gave the project a score of 30 points out of a possible total of 100—a “very bad score,” Hanson said.

The condition of the gates, however, was not marked as life-threatening and thus did not require immediate repair. Hanson said HUD’s computer software, in use for about 10 years, does not allow problems with gates or fences to be designated as life-threatening.

Even though it was not required to fix the gates immediately, the CHA should have made sure they were repaired, said Eleny Ladias, director of technical services for HUD in Chicago. “It’s up to the housing authority. They’re required to follow up with those type of repairs.”

CHA officials said non-emergency items needing repair usually are “addressed by the property manager.” They declined to comment on whether the broken gates were ever fixed.

UPA got the contract to manage the rowhouses where Curtis Cooper lived at the end of 2005, taking over from a resident-run management group. Residents have been critical of the firm’s work, and some said the gates have long been in bad shape. “The gates were raggedy as hell,” said Sherri Montgomery, a lifelong resident of the rowhouses.

After the accident, UPA posted signs warning children not to play on or near the gates. “It’s too damn late,” said Clayton Wade, Curtis Cooper’s father. “The baby’s dead.”

So, let me get this straight:

Obama is working for an organization that is part of the ACORN umbrella and shares an office building with one Cullen Davis who, subsequently, with Obama’s help becomes a successful slumlord.

Yep, that is change I want to believe in.

Larry — More fantastic record searching. Maybe a reverse search starting with that NO address might turn up other strange corporate connections? Or have you already done that?

This is all so gross, and I don’t understand why the FBI is not (apparently) interested in any of this.

Has it ever been more painfully obvious that our entire COUNTRY is in dire need of a complete overhaul in order to return us to what our founding fathers established for us? Let’s start with the electoral process and how unbelievably lax it is..then let’s move to how ridiculously easy it is to be OK’d to run for leader of the free world. No background check necessary! What a frickin’ joke.

It’s harder to adopt a damn puppy than it is to be allowed to run for POUTUS.

Please also remember that BaraCK WAS HIRED by Davis’ father, Allison, (yes, that’s a man) as an attorney. That’s the hallowed firm where Barack launched his legal career. The same place that spawned a slum landlord who is ultimately responsible for the conditions that led to the death by rusty gate of a three-year-old child.

Better check, too, into who Cullen’s partners are. You will find the circles of Barack always contain the same people who are Barack’s close advisors.

ACORN’s Nutty Regime for Cities
If you thought the New Left was dead in America, think again. Walk through just about any of the nation’s inner cities, and you’re likely to find an office of ACORN, bustling with young people working 12-hour days to “organize the poor” and bring about “social change.” The largest radical group in the country, ACORN has 120,000 dues-paying members, chapters in 700 poor neighborhoods in 50 cities, and 30 years’ experience. It boasts two radio stations, a housing corporation, a law office, and affiliate relationships with a host of trade-union locals. Not only big, it is effective, with some remarkable successes in getting municipalities and state legislatures to enact its radical policy goals into law.

ACORN has perfected an in-your-face strategy that works effectively at capturing public attention and winning adherents in cities. ACORN’s revival of its Baltimore chapter is a textbook example of this style. Several years ago, a top ACORN organizer, Mitch Klein, injected a new aggressiveness into the Baltimore chapter. Underlings piled garbage in front of City Hall to protest lack of services in poor neighborhoods, wielded huge inflated rubber sharks to disrupt a bankers’ dinner, and—most controversially—staged a profanity-laced protest in front of Mayor Martin O’Malley’s home. “They unloaded a busload of people shouting pretty ugly things and scared the daylights out of my wife and kids,” an angry O’Malley complained. “I thought it was a pretty cruddy thing to do.” Baltimore city council member Lisa Joi Stancil sympathizes with ACORN’s political agenda but is uncomfortable with the group’s aggressive approach. “There are boundaries,” she told the Baltimore Sun, “and they don’t seem to have a problem crossing them. But ACORN is unapologetic about its tactics. “We’re up in their face,” an ACORN representative enthused. (Despite—or perhaps because of—the intimidation, ACORN still gets $50,000 a year from the city of Baltimore to provide housing counseling to the poorhttp://www.city-journal.org/html/13_2_acorns_nutty_regime.html

Comment by Lee M | 2008-10-13 13:47:02

Now that Martin O’Malley is the Governor of Maryland why doesn’t he kick their rumps out of the state? Or have the legislature pass some tough laws to prevent this type of intimidation. All done with tax-payers money.

It is okay, Obama is going down anyway. Texas Darlin has a piece stating that three copies of the official Barack H. Obama II birth certificate from KENYA have been obtained. Guess who has one of those copies allegedly? Philip Berg. You recall, Berg has a lawsuit against Obama and the DNC and in his Response to Obama’s Motion for Protective Order to delay discovery, he mentions the specific city in Kenya Obama was born. Also, you recall the Obama campaign stated that Obama lost his Kenyan citizenship when he turned 21.

Obama is going down b/c the October Surprise is that he was not natural born in Hawaii nor is considered a U.S. citizen from his adoption/acknowledgement in Indonesia. He can’t even be president or a candidate.

I still believe Bush and the Republicans knew this and wanted to get their real threat, Clinton, from being on the ticket. It worked. Get your popcorn ready, this is going to be a high time education on the U.S. Constitution in politics.

PUMA 2008!

Comment by John Smith | 2008-10-12 12:16:48

If that was really true why has it no been made public. What are they waiting for. I just don’t buy it. We have been led to believe that there is some type of a October surprise because we can’t phantom what the McCain camp is doing. They are playing Mr. nice guy with a crook. RNC did not say anything when they were being blamed for the financial crises. The only thing what matters now is turnout and letting people know who Obama really is. His connection to ACORN & Ayers for starters.

Comment by Objective Analysis | 2008-10-12 15:01:35

To John Smith:

The FEC is a federal agency run by Bush. The Supreme Court has a 5-4 Republican lead as well. Do you honestly think that they were not trying to let the DNC and the far left wing liberals not put the weakest candidate on the ticket who is an illegal alien with the economy as it is in order to trump him regardless of what happens in the election especially since he is an illegal alien (Kenyan born, Indonesian citizen through adoption/acknowledgement) when they know Democrats would elect Clinton into the white house to clean this mess up?

It makes perfect sense to me. This is the DNC’s fault. They did not do their homework and investigate this Manchurian candidate. I also believe the mess we are going in has more of a double effect on the supporters of ACORN (in particular, John Edwards, John Conyers, Kilpatrick, Maxine Waters, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd and others)

You forget 1968. Remember radical socialists like the Black Panthers, Weather Underground, and other radicals were exploited and wiped out. That is what is happening. The stuff has to be exposed to wipe them out.

Get your popcorn ready. As a lawyer, I am fascinated by this on a Constitutional level. But, the DNC has only themselves to blame for what is about to happen. The 2008 Version of the Nat Turner Rebellion is going to end in an ugly fashion.

TD is not vouching for the Kenya story. She clearly states that. Neither is Berg for that matter. Right now it is only a rumor. Its an story that might have legs, and is worth watching, but its not an “October Surprise”…yet.

Texas Darlin has a piece stating that three copies of the official Barack H. Obama II birth certificate from KENYA have been obtained.

Obama is Teflon coated. Don’t put all your eggs in any one basket. This is from TD’s blog:

Update 1, 10/11/08: Please note that the information about the Kenyan BC is based on a tip that has not yet been verified. The information about the lawsuit is confirmed, and was taken from the court record.

Update 2, 10/12/08 10:40 AM ET: Since originally posting this story Saturday, Atty. Philip Berg’s office informed us that they cannot discuss this matter due to pending litigation, which is understandable. They also informed us that Berg is NOT collaborating with Ed Hale, moderator of a site, “Hillary Clinton Supporters for John McCain” and host of a radio show. We have had no direct contact with Ed Hale, and have no idea whether he’s truthful or not. Whether or not the “tip” we received is accurate, only time will tell. At this time, we have no further independent verification. However, the reason we published this story and the reason we will keep the story on this blog is that the language in Berg’s filing — which is a matter of public record — is specific about the Kenyan birth place, and we assume that the claim is based on something besides wishful thinking

You are mistakenly hyping up speculation. There is no absolute proof of a Kenyan birth certificate. And even if we see one, it has to be verified. Remember Dan Rather? There were obvious flaws to the document they relied on. It was an obvious forgery.

It does not help to get people’s hopes up too much. We can defeat Obama with what we already have on the record about him such as ACORN, Ayers, Wright, Rezko, FISA, etc. Keep working the phones for Mac, donating and volunteering.

Comment by csuzeq | 2008-10-12 13:10:12

It is in Berg’s most recent court filing’s though.

Comment by Galt, Master Thrall of Planet Triskelion | 2008-10-12 13:23:52

The actual document or a mention of it? There is a big difference.

Comment by Yo | 2008-10-12 14:01:13

On October 9th, Philip Berg added the actual name of the hospital where Obama was born in Mombasa, Kenya to his court filings. Why add the name of the hospital and its location if you don’t have the actual birth certificate? I think Mr. Berg does but he cannot produce it until the judge rules on discovery.

Comment by Galt, Master Thrall of Planet Triskelion | 2008-10-12 14:06:30

Could be but we won’t know until then.

Everything is going to come out like a Tsunami. Even Fact check.org admitted that Obama lost Kenyan citizenship in 1982. Now, I am a lawyer, you don’t loose something you don’t already have. You don’t have Kenyan citizenship by being born in Hawaii. Dah, I know that and you don’t have to have a law degree to know that. Why do you think undocumented workers have there children born in America to gain citizenship.

All the issues: Ayers, Rezko, Foreign Contributions, ACORN, and others will cause Obama’s downfall. But, the not being born in Hawaii or Indonesian Citizenship is the Ace/Joker in a Spades Game. Lawyers like I know that if he is VOID from the get go, it does not matter what else comes out. He will loose with a legal technicality. Just like Ayers got off on one. How fitting is that.

PUMA 2008!

Comment by AnninCA | 2008-10-12 15:51:57

The way I understood it was his Kenyan citizenship was due to his father. Their law is that it expires.

Comment by Objective Analysis | 2008-10-12 16:29:13

That is what they want you to believe. A father does not give citizenship to a child unless the law gives it. Factcheck.org is also sponsored by CAC which Obama ran as chairman for Ayers.

They want you to just believe their lies. But, think about it.

Why won’t this guy just give evidence of his birth and not lies and statements if he had nothing to hide?

In law, this is called inconsistent statements and goes to the heart of credibility of a witness. Obama is in trouble and yes he knows that RNC, Bush, McCain and others know it. So, he is trying to buy off the MSM to do it. I say is keep digging the truth is going to come out of this MF and the people who supported this phony and the DNC only have themselves to blame.

The problem with an issue like this being the “sort of thing” that cripples the O candidacy is that it is rather complex and the time is very short. This demonstrates the culpability of the Dems in Congress, which is helpful for McCain, but probably cannot be developed into a game-changer in the short time remaining. A Kenyan birth certificate, on the other hand, would be an immediate solution to the problem. But I hate to engage in wishful thinking . . .

Ah, ditched promises. Seems Obama made news about that yesterday. Healthcare and education, under the bus officially?

HuffPo article about Obama appearances in PA, first at a campaign rally:

“I will be a president who puts you first,” he said, asking voters not to lose hope in the economy before President Bush can be replaced.

Then, reflecting many polls showing a substantial lead, he told a fundraiser:

“In some ways this is a celebratory event” as “we’re now coming to the end of what has been a two-year process, an extraordinary journey,” Obama said at a second Philadelphia fundraiser Friday night. The host, Comcast executive David L. Cohen, said the two events raised more than $5 million.

As 250 major donors ate beet salad and mahi-mahi under a huge tent, Obama seemed to look ahead to his first term as president.

He may have made actual news about actual policy:

“We’re going to have to make some priorities, we’re going to have to cut some things out,” he said, referring to expensive goals such as improving health care, schools and college affordability.

But, on a happier note (heh), he did mention the Democratic Party! Even said it was his own party! A breakthrough, as he did not use the words “Democrat” or “Democratic Party” at all in the second debate!

“I’m going to be in some fights with my own Democratic Party in getting some of that done,” he said.

So, does this mean that healthcare is officially under the bus, along with education? Even tho’ he said in the last debate that he thinks healthcare is a right?

And note that when he did mention his own party, it was to say that he would have to fight Congressional members of his own party.

He’ll get his majorities with initial Democratic enthusiasm, Blue Dogs for cuts and fiscal conervatism, and by meeting the needs of the Republicans as he reaches across the aisle in his trademark bipartisanship.

We will not get universal healthcare, I fear. Mortgage assistance? Education loans? Will we keep SocSec, which doesn’t need fixing? Will Medicare be “fixed”/cut even more?

Whatever will President Obama do?

He seems to be reassuring The Villagers that he will listen to their calls for the requisite Democratic president’s fiscal restraint. Dems are now expected to be “responsible” and clean up the mess left by Republican administrations. Even a really Big Me$$. Clinton did so well that BushCo was able to go hog wild–and the MCM barely whimpered any admonitions to show restraint; indeed, Dems were criticized for not going along with BushCo’s tax cut/spending efforts.

But, now that Dems may have a working majority? Ha! Time for cuts, fiscal restraint, and, most of all, No New Social Programs. (Military and Homeland Security will be A-OK.) Obama to The Villagers: I feel your pain.” He hears their message.

One thing for sure: Obama will eventually tell regular people that he’s been saying all along that there wasn’t enough money for real healthcare reform, meaningful education assistance, probably not for middle class tax cuts. He or his press secretary will reference these comments made at private or less public forums. The public will be told they ought to have known.

Just you wait, ‘Enry “Iggins, just you wait.

I will be delighted to be proved wrong–ecstatic!

Will this get coverage by the press? Obama has the greatest teflon coating of any politician I’ve seen–nothing seems to stick. Maybe the drip, drip drip of these latest stories will have an affect on undecided voters (who the hell is still undecided, for gosh sakes??!?!?!)

ACORN does seem to resonate with the public. More than Ayers. Maybe coupled with other scandals it will have an impact.

I think Mac now needs to get out there and give people the reasons to vote FOR him and let the 527s peddle this stuff or he won’t have a chance at winning.

Comment by AnninCA | 2008-10-12 11:15:23

Well, people are pretty offended when they hear the guy talk about being registered 72 times. Goodness, but that’s not sloppy, that’s just crazy. And we’re paying for this via tax dollars? Then someone has to weed out these bad registrations or, in some cases, allow the system to be open for voter problems?

I can see why the public “gets” this story.

Ayers is just an old story. The only relevance is that Obama lied to the public. Directly. He did the same about Rezko. He did the same about ACORN.

The pattern is clear. He has no problem lying.

As a Latino, I hope we make a difference in states like FL, CO, NM, NV, NJ and NC and give John MacCain the victory he deserves. I hope nuestra raza wakes up and realizes Obama does not have our best interest at heart..just ask Hillary!!

This is my response to Politico’s “McCain’s makes risky play for Pennsylvania.”

MacCain’s campaign will go down as one of the lousiest in history! He should have been up in PA big time (OH, VA and FL should have been secured by now) by simply reminding us of Barry’s “bitter” comments 24/7 like Barry’s campaign does, instead he’s let a golden opportunity and the chance of winning this state slip away!

p.s I don’t even feel sorry for him anymore! If he can’t fight a good fight, then he doesn’t deserve to win!

Whatever you think of McCain, if Obama gets in then America loses. Forget about McCain if it helps and just concentrate on stopping Obama.

That is why I’m sooooo mad!! I had a heated discussion with my wife about this very topic where I got so mad at the way McCain’s campaign is letting this slip away. If you had seen me, you’d thought I was making the case for my own life lol!

In a way, I feel let down that this country is blindly marching into a disaster named “president Obama.” My wife made a good point..she said it seems the stars have aligned for this guy somehow. He dodges every bullet at every turn..as if the Gods (or the fucking devil) are looking out for him. And then she finished with “MAYBE IT’S TRUE..HE IS THE ANTICHRIST.”

I second that!

I thought Davis sounded familiar… I checked my email, and I had just emailed some people an Obama timeline that gives Davis a mention in 1993.

This is the entire time line.

It’s from

http://conservativepolitics.today.com/2008/10/10/obamaayersdohrn-timeline/

I’m sure it’s not 100% accurate and i know it has a lot of things missing.. like Ayers and Obama meeting in NYC

TRANSCRIPT OF THE VIDEO SECTION IN QUESTION:

Narrator:
The CRA (Community Reinvestment Act)was passed in 1977 during Jimmy Carter’s first year in office

The Law INCREASED Oversight of financial institutions to ensure that they were giving credit to low income families so that more people would have the chance to own homes.

Guest:
(explaining the Community Reinvestment Act)
We want to have everyone be able to buy a house anywhere.

We are going to lend to people of all colors.

Theres nothing wrong with that. We are going to make sure those banks don’t discriminate but the law went overboard.

Institutions made loans they probably didnt want to make because they couldn’t seem racist or they might not be allowed to do things you would do in the regular course of business such as merge with another bank.

It empowered these community groups who would then bully the banks.

ACORN bullied the banks.

Narrator:
Indeed ACORN the Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now, would before long come up with a New Tactic, challenging a Thrift Merger in Illiniois claiming they didnt make the kind of loans that ACORN felt were required under the C.R.A.

The Bank complained such loans would be financially irresponsible.

A Young community Organizer named BARACK OBAMA worked closely with the ACORN activists behind the strategy.

And that strategy worked!

ACORN prevailed IN COURT and soon credit standards were being lowered across the country.

While at first FANNIE actually resisted buying up some of those shakey mortgages, at the Tail End of the CLINTON administration, FANNIE MAE WAS TOLD to SUBSTANTIALLY INCREASE THE PERCENTAGE OF THOSE LOANS in its portfolio…

Let me requote for F*CKING EMPHASIS!

A Young community Organizer named BARACK OBAMA worked closely with the ACORN activists behind the strategy.

If your head has not exploded yet keep watching the whole series. It will be the best 40 minutes you spend today learning about what is going on with the mortgage crisis.

Get this information out!

What I am so frustrated about is that Obama is such a Liar.
Most of what we do know about the guy has been misstatements. The media has protected him from the truths that would mean the election.
Most of his promises have been reversed so many times that its hard to tell what he has in mind.
Most of the promises he has kept throughout will cost the taxpayers so much money that if he does keep them our nation will be total chaos.

Hey McCain and Palin are at least honest about their history.

Comment by AnninCA | 2008-10-12 12:14:52

That bothers me a great deal. People are not too concerned, apparently.

They are giving him a pass on lying to them.

I saw that in the primaries and felt strongly that was a key point. If Hillary brought up the lies, and she did, her favorability ratings plummetted.

It’s a kind of protection for the poor AA guy, a nation of codependents. LOL*

Everyone races to the rescue, and everyone forgets the issue was that he lied.

Hillary and Bill is out on the campaign trail once again for this man, while he is deep in doo doo with ACORN, now wonder Hillary lost but sad to say she cannot understand yet what has happened.

Maybe she got hit over the head with a silly stick because for the love of me I cannot understand why the both of them feel this must support this fraud, I know one thing if he wins and this country goes deeper into the shitter I will blame Hillary and Bill for helping to get this idiot elected, and will never support the Clintons again.

Comment by kinthenorthwest | 2008-10-12 12:21:17

I used to sign my blogs with Hillary ‘12. I no longer do because I no longer have respect for either of the Clintons.
Never in history has someone who lost the Primary done this much, especially after the slanderous way the Clintons were treated.
Everytime I see Hillary and Bill out on the campaign trail I lose more and more respect for them.
I have yet to see an apology either directly or indirectly form Michelle or Barrack for all the slanderous things they said about the Clintons. Yet the Clintons seem to be crawling in the mud to please Obama. Do the Clintons not have any self esteem?

What is strange is that McCain apologized for Michael Pfleger’s remarks on Hillary. McCain has been man enough to apologize and admit his mistakes.
That is why I will never vote Obama or Hillary.

McCain ‘08

Comment by AnninCA | 2008-10-12 12:23:48

Interesting reaction. I respect people who deliver on their promises. Both Bill and Hillary made it clear that they would campaign for Obama, wheneveer he asked. He asked. They are now delivering.

How this is not a respectable action on their part is beyond me.

Just because I’m voting McCain sure doesn’t mean I expect the tycoons of the Democratic party to switch horses! LOL* That would shock me.

Comment by Frank Marshall | 2008-10-12 17:04:01

Perhaps as a Republican, I can spot the “handiwork” of the Clintons easier than their supporters, but I would not worry about anything. Seriously, these the Clintons. The only Democrats on the planet that can go blow for blow with the RNC. They need to do “their part” for the DNC, but they will be the leaders of the party on November 5th. And they know it. Stay strong for a few more weeks. It may be disheartening, but they aren’t selling you out…they are setting things up.

Just as an encouragement…see the video embedded in the link below. 2:38 mark. Look hard and you will find a hint.

McCain is making the same mistakes Hillary made - apologizing all the time for everything the media demands, only making himself appear weaker and weaker.

Hillary did this too. It’s totally out of fear of the media IMO.

Obama is acting just like Bush - going on vacations, in-your-face arrogance, etc. And guess who won. America prefers strong and wrong to weak and right, remember.

I’ve seen McCain be tough in the past when in Senate hearings, but since I’ve been watching him in this campaign against Obama, he seems like a wimp.

I can’t believe Obama is ahead in Florida! And Hillary and Bill are determined to bring it home for him. Hate to say it but McCain aint even tryin’.

I’m with you on that. I am beyond disgusted with Hillary because I donated the max to her campaign. Obama is BAAAAD and dangerous for this country and we all can see it, why can’t HRC? This country and its security must come first because the way things are going there is no way that Hillary is going to running in 2012 because it will be a takeover by Obama. You heard him say in 10 years and referring to himself as still in the White House. Do you really think that was a slip of the tongue? I don’t. We will turn into a dictatorship and there won’t be anyone running against him in 2012 because Obama and his thugs will see to that.

Comment by Goblintrain | 2008-10-12 14:39:00

Lol, once again, i am in the strange position, as a Republican, of defending Hillary! :-)

If she is your candidate, i suggest, don’t throw her under the bus so fast! This is a crazy election for all of us, & Bill & Hillary are in perhaps the most difficult situation of all. You want it to look prettier than this but it just isn’t. Hillary has no home outside the DNC. Period. If she wants a shot at 2012, she can’t burn to many bridges within the DNC. Let her do what she has to this election cycle. Then, if her conduct over the next 2-3 years continues to strike you as dishonorable, look elsewhere. If you have been a Hillary supporter up until now, i just don’t think this is a fair ball field to judge her over. Her conduct during the next 2 years after the election is a much better indicator of where she really stands. Just my thoughts as a Republican, but i hate to see any one abandon their candidate without giving them a fair shake first.

Comment by ownaa | 2008-10-12 12:29:02

I don’t think it’s Mccain who is taking the high roas, it’s the Republican party. Bush adminstration damaged them, so they want to regroup. Maccain if the rpublican wanted the white house would have never been the nominee. He is not a conservative enough and disagree with them a lot. So stopping Obama is the job for the real democrats and citizens of this country in general.

I guess my expectations were off, silly me

I thought HRC had the cajones to actually stand up to the Fraud, since all he had was that stupid speech and both she and Mccain were ready on day 1, silly me, to think her words were any more than just words as well.

I have to agree with you a little. Hillary’s race is over and she should stay the hell away from this. Obamabots hate her thinking she just wants to use Obama’s popularity for her own gain and the Clintonites are wondering why she’s so supportive of him. She can only lose and I’m wondering what her motivations are. If Obama wins, Hillary will never become a president.

Maybe Obama has promised her a place in his administration but if she believes he’s gonna keep that promise… well, I can’t see a Clinton being that naive.

Or maybe she just wants to support the democrats but she should bare in mind how this new democratic party treats her. Perhaps she wants to support them now to get their support for her next presidential run. Still, very naive. Or maybe Hillary simply won’t try to become a president anymore and wants to help the democrats get as much seats as possible making her work in the senate easier.

Don’t let the media and the polls get you down. McCain is not running a bad campaign, just like Hillary didn’t run a bad campaign. It’s extremely difficult for McCain to campaign in an environment where the media won’t actually do its job and vet Obama, and where the economy is not doing well (and the media knows that a bad economy is bad for McCain, so they’ll keep talk of the bad economy alive).

The only sure thing that you can do is vote for McCain.

Comment by Sue | 2008-10-12 12:54:08

McCain is running two campaigns. One against Obama and one against the msm. I think he’s doing a great job considering what he’s up against.

SUCK IT UP

Anybody here who is complaining I have three words for you. Suck it up. So we are down in the polls and Obama is planning his victory party. What everybody is forgetting is that this election is not over until Nov 4th. So quit complaining and start doing something. McCain is planning a huge push in the last two weeks of the campaign. I am not sure why they are doing what they are doing but I also know that they don’t have a bunch of armatures running the campaign.

You really only have two choices.

1) Quite right now. That might make you feel better for a while but will be devastating in the long run.
2) Keep working to defeat Obama. That might be very frustrating and thankless job but will pay huge in the long run.

Even near June, when she was winning primary after primary, they said, it’s over….but people didn’t listen, they voted anyway, and she won PA and she won KY and she won WVA and she won PR! She was outspent, what, 3-1 by Obamahead and she still won….the difference then was the Super Delegates. There’s no SD in the GE.

McCain didn’t announce that he was withdrawing from Michigan. This was a media distortion to make McCain look bad. McCain decided to stop running ads in Michigan, but his staff was staying there (apparently they have to pay the rent, etc. months in advance, so those expenses had already been paid). Of course the media ignored it when Obama really did pull out of Georgia (he did pull ads and staff).

Typicial Obama campaign strategy.

It was over for hillary in New Hampshire, remember?

She should withdraw!

This has been a crazy year.

I say we the people need to get out there and tell the world the truth about Obama. WE cannot expect John McCain to do it on his own. Quit whining and get out there and help. I am from Fargo, ND and this is what was in our Fargo Forum Newspaper today. Someone took the time to write an article in the opinion part of the paper. EVeryone should be doing this!!!
Here is the article:

Obama has several questions to answer

After two years of campaigning at taxpayer expense, the American people should be demanding answers to the following questions before the election, given the importance of knowing who you are voting for Nov. 04.

First, why has Barack Obama not released a copy of his birth certificate? What is he hiding? What is on the certificate that no one gets to see?

Second, if the one is so very smart, why has he not released his high school and college transcripts? Are they that poor, or is the media not demanding questions to allow the voters to make an informed choice?

Third, Obama has no history of voting for any tax cuts, so how is he going to give the middle class a tax cut in the future? One-third of Americans pay no taxes, so why should they benefit from government services more than those who pay taxes? Another socialist view, maybe.

Fourth, why is Obama not held accountable for sitting in a church for 20 years under the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, whose hateful, racists sermons were being sold in the lobby of the church? Does anyone believe he never heard or condoned that kind of sermon until he was running or President?

Fifth, does Obama blame Americans today for slavery, and what are his views on slavery reparations?

Sixth, if he believed he should run for president, why didn’t he resign his Senate seat so that American was not paying for someone to campaign for two years and not do his Senate job 100 percent.

Finally, the only candidate and party that keeps bringing up race is Obama and the Democrats, so does he feel that America is still a racist country?

The electorate deserves to know the answer to these and many other questions before the vote takes place.
The media seems to have given him a free ride with no accountability in both the primaries against Hillary Clinton and also in the general election, where he runs as a middle-of-the-road Democrat whose past had him rated as the most liberal senator in the U.S. Senate.

I am very proud this man took the time to write the newspaper. I would add 7 & 8. Where are your medical records (not just one page from a doctor) and what about Ayers and Acorn!!!

I think everyone here is falling into the Axelrod, Obama shitscreen propaganda. If the MSM and pollsters can make us think we are losing, we lose, they win. Where’s SHILOH with his wisdom and comforting and encouraging words. I think Mac/Palin are not reading the same polls that we are. Keep up your hope and your faith. Even during difficult times remember the song “When You Walk Through a Storm.” Right now the storm is heading our way, and we have to stay strong and stay united. Obama and his minions preach hate, racism and division. If we believe their mantra, they win. As long as Republican, PUMA’s, Democrats for McCain and all of us who were purged from the Democrat Party stay united for Mac, he won’t lose.

riiiiiight. Bush is a moderate. (Bwah Ha Ha Ha Ha) He ran as a conservative. He was supported by conservatives (and might I add, by the real nutbag right wing, lunatic fringe conservatives) Everything he did was rubber stamped practically unanimously by the conservatives running congress and he was defended to the mat by conservatives through two election cyeles and eight years in office…… But now he’s a moderate.

The funny thing about conservatives is that after all your talk you actually had to run the country, and you had to do it using the very same government (of the [people )you convinced yourself to despise. And you did a shittier job then the party you ran against. Now here’s your chance to redeem yourself in even the smallest way by voting for a guy who actually is honorable and actually has walked his talk and you bale on him because he hasn’t been swimming in the same pool of kool-aid you fellows practically drown the country in. Do yourself a favor, unclench the sphincter muscle between your butt checks and slowly ease you head out. The fresh air will do you good. I promise.

And then vote McCian so the left fringe doesn’t do to the country what the right fringe did.

I have double-checked the location information for Project Vote and ACORN and it DOES match.

Project Vote’s Trademark Registration lists it’s address at the same New Orleans address as the New Orleans ACORN office, also listed as the home of the ACORN National Call Center.

Considering that Project Vote is a D.C. corporation with a Chicago Registered Agent (for doing business in Illinois), having it’s trademark registered to the same New Orleans address as the ACORN office is far beyond the level of explicable coincidence.

And, to repeat what Barack Obama himself said when addressing ACORN:

When Obama met with ACORN leaders in November, he reminded them of his history with ACORN and his beginnings in Illinois as a Project Vote organizer, a nonprofit focused on voter rights and education. Senator Obama said, “I come out of a grassroots organizing background. That’s what I did for three and half years before I went to law school. That’s the reason I moved to Chicago was to organize. So this is something that I know personally, the work you do, the importance of it. I’ve been fighting alongside ACORN on issues you care about my entire career. Even before I was an elected official, when I ran Project Vote voter registration drive in Illinois, ACORN was smack dab in the middle of it, and we appreciate your work.”

Another fact that needs to be run down. ACORN, in response to Congressional calls (by Republicans) for cutting off all funding, has claimed that they receive NO federal funds. However, ACORN is an amalgaman of so many interconnected entities that it is impossible (for me, not for someone with more resources) to track the money down as it travels through the maze.

Which means two things (possibly): (1) ACORN does receive federal funds but through it’s subsidiaries (or affiliates) and/or (more troublesome), (2) ACORN might still be IN the bailout bill because there is money in the bill for community groups. They don’t appear, formally, as ACORN so how do we know if funds from the pot of pork will or will not find their way into ACORN? Who can answer this question.

But, either way, as to the immediate question, yes the ACORN and Project Vote addresses in New Orleans are, indeed, the same.

NOTE: I do not find the fact that Just Vote’s Illinois agent was listed ten years ago at a law firm two floors above the floor where Cullen Davis might have had an office (the dates are not cross-referenced and Davis is presently the principal of Hallmark & Johnson Property Management, Ltd., 6160 North Cicero Avenue, Suite 620, Chicago). I don’t know where Cullen Davis was 10 years ago. But, there are a number of law firms and other businesses, even today, in that office building. Mary Dempsey (the named registered agent back then) is a DePaw Law grad who was later appointed Commissioner of Public Libraries in Chicago. She has no apparent connection to Cullen Davis and is apparently very well thought of (not so for all of Daley’s appointees but she seems to be quite well respected). Maybe she represented Davis back then and Davis sent Project Vote upstairs to his firm but there’s no evidence of that. So, this part of the expose needs more work. If Obama and Davis are connected, they’re connected but it’s not because Project Vote’s agent for service of process had an office in a building where Davis, at some point in time, happened to have an office on another floor. Just being fair.

For me, the connection here that is incredible, is Acorn and Project Vote having the same New Orleans address. That is a solid, though circumstantial, connection with no other reasonable explanation than that they were connected and, at the very least, working together.

Keep digging.

It all boils down to a simple truth — Chicago has been know as the capital of cesspool politics. The Daley family has been running Chicago since the 1950s.

It’s tradition of money-for-political influence goes back to the 19th century.

Biden is mixed up in it too — that’s why the Mayor Daley of Chicago ordered Obama to choose him.

In short shrift, Obama rose to the top of this cesspool.

How. By being honest and ethical?

Of course not.

That’s all you need to know.

Mondale was up by 18 points I think too. Someone can correct me on that one if I am wrong. Either way, the polls are BS, the MSM is BS, and all we have to do is keep working for Mac, spreading the word and converting people.

Comment by Galt, Master Thrall of Planet Triskelion | 2008-10-12 14:01:10

I’m wary of anything to do with polls. How can we be sure how the data was collected on the historical polls versus the new ones? We know the MSM is in the tank for Obama. I bet the polling is generally in the tank for him as well.

I’ll go with my horse sense. It tells me people are outraged at Obama and will flock to the polls on November 4 in disgust. It won’t matter what the polls or MSM says.

Bottom line: keep fighting for Mac!

Comment by Nicole | 2008-10-12 14:47:46

I agree on the polls. I never really believe them either way, whether they’re to or against my liking. Don’t put much stock in them. I think this year they’ve been crazier than ever. All over the place from one day to the next.

Acutally lies that were totally unneeded. If he had told the truth about Wright, Ayers, Rizo, and etc I think he would the polls might not be so seesaw.

To me its all the different stories that keep coming out about Obama’s personal background that truly bother me. Obama has problems with his policies but to me if a man cant even tell the truth about his own personal life something is wrong.

I just dont think Obama is an honest person. What I mean by that is that I think he is MORE DISHONEST than the average politican. All his lies really do scare me.

Ten years ago a man like Obama would never have made it past the first primary. Not because he is black but because his character is VERY VERY Questionable.

When does it stop or was this a deliberate slap in the face of Gov Plain since she has stiff fines and clean-up penalties in which Exxon should pay for the clean up.

I read yesterday that someone heard someone with Gallup being interviewed who said Gallup has had 80% hang up rate when calling people when they normally have a 40-50% hang up rate. Anyone know if this is true or not?

Without a shadow of doubt the McCain campaign needs to hit Obama hard with the ACORN stick. When you look right back into the founding of ACORN and who was behind it, the Marxist plot thickens and America should be VERY worried.

In the mid 60’s, a pair of radical socialist Columbia University professors, Richard Andrew Cloward and Frances Fox Piven, devised a strategy - the “Cloward-Piven Strategy” - to overthrow capitalism, in which the idea was to overload government bureaucracy with a flood of impossible demands it couldn’t possibly meet, thus pushing society into crisis and eventual collapse. The path would be cleared for a new economic and political system - socialism.

Cloward and Piven were inspired by radical Saul Alinsky, a mentor of Obama’s too.

They enlisted the help of one Mr. George Wiley - who was later the founder of ACORN. They saw their first target as the welfare system. Wiley formed an army of foot soldiers and organized thousands of angry ghetto dwellers to storm welfare offices and demand their “rights.” The aim was to get as many in the ghetto as possible onto welfare, with the goal of swamping the rolls to such an extent that the government would become bankrupt.

In just a few short years of this activism Wiley and his goons managed to more than double the number of single parent households on welfare. They didn’t manage to bankrupt capitalism but the long term affect on the ghetto has been devastating. For people who claim to “represent the poor,” they sure as hell have done their best to perpetuate the kind of ignorance and poverty which creates such poor living conditions in the hood and ruins people’s lives.

In ACORN, George Wiley found another vehicle with which to carry on the fight against capitalism. Their goal has always been and always will be to organize and radicalize the poor in order to aggressively push for more and more state control over the economy and put an end to free market economics.

With this in mind, the recent history of ACORN makes perfect sense. They have done their best to force lenders to make bad loans to the poor, loans they knew fine well those poor people would never be able to pay back. Was this merely a continuation of the Cloward-Piven strategy, dressed in new clothing?

If so, they have been spectacularly successful. The financial system is in disarray, countries around the world are on the brink of collapse and meanwhile the left sees this as an excellent opportunity to hail the “end of capitalism.”

And who stands a good chance of becoming our next President? A man who has had close ties with ACORN for years, both professional and financial. A man who worked for ACORN. A man who promised ACORN that when elected, he would allow them to shape his agenda for America.

This is truly scary stuff. Americans need to be informed NOW.

What’s interesting about this video is that it blames the Community Reinvestment Act for the sub-prime crisis, yet even Business Week (by no means a liberal magazine) acknowledges that the CRA is not to blame. The majority of sub-prime loans were made by institutions who are not even regulated by the CRA. And Robert Gordon, a senior fellow at the Center for American Progress, even said “It’s telling that, amid all the recent recriminations, even lenders have not fingered CRA. That’s because CRA didn’t bring about the reckless lending at the heart of the crisis.” http://straighttalkonmccain.blogspot.com/

What they don’t tell you is that many of the lenders who weren’t covered by the CRA were mortgage companies acting as middlemen for companies that were.

The CRA was by no means everything in this, but it played a huge part along with Fanny and Freddie. The whole point was a political climate in which it was considered a “good idea” to give loans to people who were in no financial shape to pay them back.

The Center for American Progress is a far left wing think tank of the kind which is unlikely to give you an objective sense of affairs.
