The Obama Campaign, Role Models, Patterned Violence [UPDATED with Photographs of Misogynistic Obamabots at Palin Protest in Philadelphia]

Venal journalists and mindless bloggers who simply regurgitate what the Obama campaign places in their email accounts hope to convince voters that the rhetoric of John McCain and Sarah Palin is engendering hatred and violence.
Four events this weekend militate against this narrative, however. Indeed, two isolated events reveal that it is in fact the Obama campaign and not John McCain that is inciting violence, arson, vandalism and larceny.
I. Violent Obamabots throw fire bombs in Portland, Oregon
PORTLAND, Ore. – Authorities have arrested two men after a Molotov cocktail was thrown at a 4-foot by 8-foot campaign sign for Republican presidential candidate John McCain in a southeast Portland yard….
Witnesses said the suspects threw a Molotov cocktail at the sign and used another as a torch.
The Scruttons worried that their home could have caught on fire.
Taking their cues from the Obama campaign, Obamabots Leslie Brockette Leudtke and Kevin Carl Robinson are following in the footsteps of Bill Ayers, the terrorist who said the following on 911:
“I don’t regret setting bombs,” and added, “I feel we didn’t do enough.”
Or perhaps these fabricators of booze bombs are simply following Obama’s exhortation to his supporters to “get in the face” of those who will vote for John McCain. And what better way to do that than to emulate the terrorist who helped launch Obama’s political career in his living room in inner city Chicago?
II. Obamabots vandalize Republican headquarters in Rock Hill, South Carolina
Obama surrogate John Lewis stated the following this weekend:
“What I am seeing reminds me too much of another destructive period in American history,” Lewis said in a statement issued today for Politico’s Arena forum. “Sen. McCain and Gov. Palin are sowing the seeds of hatred and division, and there is no need for this hostility in our political discourse.”
Lewis didn’t accuse McCain of imitating Wallace, but suggested there were similarities.
“George Wallace never threw a bomb,” Lewis noted. “He never fired a gun, but he created the climate and the conditions that encouraged vicious attacks against innocent Americans who were simply trying to exercise their constitutional rights. Because of this atmosphere of hate, four little girls were killed on Sunday morning when a church was bombed in Birmingham, Alabama.”
How did Obamabots in South Carolina respond to Lewis’s comparison of John McCain and Sarah Palin to segregationist George Wallace? I quote the Rock Hill Herald:
Vandals spray-painted the words “Republican means slavery” on the door of the York County GOP campaign headquarters overnight Friday.
Party volunteers called police after discovering the message when they arrived at the office on Rock Hill’s Oakland Avenue. The vandals also stole about 45 candidate signs from the front yard and spray-painted over a banner that carried a picture of Republican presidential nominee John McCain. Their messages included lettering and symbols sometimes used by gangs.
While Obamabots in South Carolina did not throw a bomb, they did vandalize and steal private property from those whose politics they liken to “slavery.” And this occurred just days after John Lewis compared McCain and Palin to a notorious segregationist. I guess words really do have discursive effects.

The Portland guys are just so classic. If you watch the news you’ll see protests in like Seattle and San Fran, and then some waaay over the top action in Portland.
I live in Salem, to stay upriver of the raw sewage that ‘green’ Portland dumps in the Willamette. The reason you see this stuff is that Portland wishes it were either Seattle or San Fran, so they do even more to get attention. It’s a hole of a town, one of the least truly tolerant cities I’ve ever been in (unless you have thick rim glasses and smell bad), and a Molotov is simply par for the course.
It’s also the place they got like 70K on the waterfront for Obama. These bombing guys are going to be folk heroes there.
It just wouldn’t be wise for one of those idiots to ‘get in my face.’ I have months and months of pent-up rage and I’d probably scratch their eyes out.

I believe Obama’s urging of his supporters to argue with people and to get in their faces is extremely irresponsible behavior for a presidential candidate. It encourages hate and the acting out on that hatred. Obama’s background in community organizing emphasizes confrontational politics. The type of campaign he has run demonstrates his commitment to that philosophy. Such an attitude, I think, has no place in the top office of this nation and would make his presidency as disastrous for the nation as his campaign has been.
I agree. He is, however, very irresponsible in this way and showed that throughout the campaign.

What’s disturbing to me is that there’s a complete disconnect with people who came before him and an attitude that he’s entitled to do this.

About 50 parishioners were locked into the Assemblies of God church before it was set ablaze. They were mostly women and children. Those who tried to flee were hacked to death by machete-wielding members of a mob numbering 2,000.
The 2008 New Year Day atrocity in the Kenyan village Eldoret, about 185 miles northwest of Nairobi, had all the markings of the Rwanda genocide of a decade earlier.
By mid-February 2008, more than 1,500 Kenyans were killed. Many were slain by machete-armed attackers. More than 500,000 were displaced by the religious strife. Villages lay in ruin. Many of the atrocities were perpetrated by Muslims against Christians.
The violence was led by supporters of Raila Odinga, the opposition leader who lost the Dec. 27, 2007, presidential election by more than 230,000 votes. Odinga supporters began the genocide hours after the final election results were announced Dec. 30. Mr. Odinga was a member of Parliament representing an area in western Kenya, heavily populated by the Luo tribe, and the birthplace of Barack Obama’s father.

I checked into Passports last night, most U.S. Post Offices have the ability to take the 2 pictures you need, and do the necessary paperwork, but time is running out! it takes about a month to get them processed.

Turn on the TV news when John McCain is picking up undecided voters by invoking Barack Obama’s relationship with unrepentant American terrorist William Ayers and, invariably, some liberal talking head will sniff in disgust and say Ayers is no big deal where Obama comes from.
Unfortunately, that’s true. Ayers is a terrorist. But this is Chicago.
Obama and Ayers are neighbors and they worked together on school issues with the same foundation. Obama’s political coming-out party was held in Ayers’ living room when Obama was running for his first political office.
And the boss of Chicago is Mayor Richard Daley. Mayor Shortshanks has thrown his protective embrace around both men. These are facts.

Family ties proved Ayers’ point But the reason Ayers is not a big deal in Chicago has to do with the Chicago Way, and the left fork of that road that has been bought and paid for by the Daley machine, subsidized by taxpayers who foot the bill for public relations contracts from City Hall.
The new Daley machine is much more sophisticated than his father’s. And the stereotype of knuckle-draggers and wiseguys—they’re still around, and there are jobs on the city payroll for those who work the precincts.
Yet what’s often ignored is that their university-educated cousins get city contracts to spin the news and shape the symbolism and tell out-of-town reporters that Ayers is no big deal. They won’t bite the hand that feeds them. For an examination of the Daley spin machine—and its cost to taxpayers—please see Tribune reporter Dan Mihalopoulos’ story in the Sunday editions.
One friend of Obama and Ayers is former ’60s radical Marilyn Katz, now an Obama fundraiser, strategist and public relations maven. She’s often a go-to quote for reporters to knock down the Ayers-Obama story.
“What Bill Ayers and [former Black Panther, now U.S. Rep.] Bobby Rush . . . did 40 years ago has nothing to do with [the presidential campaign],” Katz was quoted as saying in the Chicago Sun-Times in April. “[Ayers] has a national reputation. He lectures at Harvard [University] and Vassar [College].”
What that story and many other pro-Obama articles gloss over is that during the violent protests of the 1968 Democratic National Convention here, Katz was the security chief for the radical Students for a Democratic Society. She once advocated throwing studded nails in front of police cars, back in the SDS days when the group was alleged to have thrown cellophane bags full of human excrement at cops and cans of urine and golf balls impaled with nails.
How things change.
Under this Daley, her firm, MK Communications, has many city deals, and one involves public relations for the Chicago Police Department’s community policing program. From nails to contracts, the Chicago Way. Apparently, irony was not a ’60s thing.
Now, as Daley prepares to lay off more than 1,000 city workers, he’s given Katz and other public relations firms five-year contracts that could pay them as much as $5 million each for consulting, advertising and promotion.
Getting in good with Daley hasn’t been bad for business. Being convicted of felony charges does not mean your voting rights get taken away forever. In California, if you have completed your prison term for a felony conviction, you can vote. If you’re in jail as a condition of felony probation, you can still vote. Creepy, huh?

Look at the women who are angry at Palin and express that hatred. The women that I know that have made the vulgar comments are at some visible and obviously level not happy with their own existence – unmarried or unhappily married, complain about the way they are treated at work, the lesbians that hate men who could not vision a women who has a happy and sound family life. The well-balanced women that I know either support Palin (enthusiastically) or can have an intelligent conversation about her without being nasty.
The democratic party and its people are scared shitless over what McCain did. And what you are witnessing is their insecurities.

Yesterday, I decided I had to stand up and speak out. I started calling the offices of all the Democrats in my area that are running for re-election on Nov 4th. Whenever I got someone on the phone, I started very politely saying – I just got your brochure in the mail asking for my vote and I’m calling each candidate to ask who they’re supporting for President. Is Mr/Mrs so and so supporting Obama or McCain? Of course, I knew they would say Obama since they were Democrats. When they answered – of COURSE they’re supporting Senator Obama, I answered, well, then they just lost my vote. I can’t vote for someone who’s supporting a radical, terrorist-loving, socialist, anti-American person who’s been endorsed by Hamas, Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez for president. I guess I won’t be able to vote for so and so.
I think we should all do this and flood their phones with hundreds of calls just to let them know how we feel. I know it probably won’t make a difference, but it made me feel better and I REALLY MEAN IT!
I called my local office last week and told the guy who answered to send out an email to the Dems on his list and tell them they need to stop tearing up my McCain sign every night because I was going to wrap barbed wire around the top of it and then put the plastic back over that. I also told him I used to be a Democrat, he asked why I switched, I started telling him and he said he had to go…
BTW, I did not use the barbed wire, but my husband attached a wire to the water spicket, clamped it to the sign and then attached anothe wire clamped from the other side of the sign to a battery box type thing…it doesn’t really work, but our sign hasn’t been pulled up since!

If you are not sure who to vote for on state and local levels- may I suggest the following for consideration?
1- Don’t vote for local Democrats if they are supporting Sen obama (as you stated above)
2- If you want to maintain a checks and balances then if you are voting for McCain/Palin …and you do not want to vote for local Dems because of point 1 above,
then please give serious consideration to voting for third party candidates in your state and districts. (Independent, Green, Peace and Freedom etc…)
After witnessing what occurred during the primaries this year -especially how the Democratic party and the Debate commission prevented many good candidates from participating in national debates- I think we desperately need a viable third party in this country.

It posits the belief that for these types of individuals ideologies are changeable and irrelevant.

i have a story to tell today that makes me so sad.
on sundays i bowl in a predominantly gay league, but there are several “straight” teams and the league is racially mixed. one team in particular, an all black team, wore their obama shirts a few weeks ago. these shirts are black, have his picture on one side, HUGE letters saying change we can believe in, and a whole bunch of other stuff. pretty overwhelming, esp if you’re a mccain/palin supporter. well, ok.
so last weekend, after attending a palin rally, i wore a light pink t-shirt with white script mccain/palin ‘08 and under that in small letters, reform, prosperity, peace. very subtle to say the least. i bowled against the obama team who never said anything about my shirt as i never said anything about theirs. we had a lot of fun bowling against each other, but they beat my team 3 games to 1.
today i went up to one of them to say how happy i was not to be bowling against them, esp her because she bowled reeeally well last week. of course i was goofing around and complimenting them at the same time, but she didn’t let me get to the part about why i didn’t want to bowl against them. instead i was interrupted with a surly attitude as she was attaching her “i’m voting for THAT one” button to her shirt. she said something like, well if you can come up here in your palin (she spit that out) shirt last week, i can wear my button this week. you don’t need to be like that. wearin’ your palin shirt.
i was really taken aback because she wasn’t fooling around – she was dead serious. i said, um, i was trying to say i was glad i wasn’t bowling you ’cause you kicked our butts last week – not because of your candidate. she continued her trash talking about how rude mccain/palin are and i just turned around and walked away, extremely disappointed. none of that team spoke to me today after that.
so i guess if you’re a mccain/palin supporter, you’re not allowed to express your support in any way or you’ll offend the thin-skinned obamacrats. pretty damned pathetic. i mean, at least until nov 4th we’re still f*$king america, right? able to express our support for the candidate of our choice?

Of course I am not shocked at the sight children behaving like … children but when adults do it, it’s downright pathetic.
I am shocked, however, that women allow themselves to be degraded through what is being pushed forward via word and image about Sarah Palin. As a man I cannot understand why women allow this to continue … and even worse participate in that degradation. Last I looked over 50% of women Dems support Obama. If that many women do not care about themselves enough to see where they stand with regards to all that goes with him, they have no right to complain to guys for doing or being any way at all.
The line goes: He/she who is silent, is said to consent. Women in general need to decide if they want guys in larger numbers to stand up in support of their equality with respect and decency or if they wish to hang out in the gutter where many guys wish to keep them. It is not a tough decision unless you cannot make up your mind.

I am so ashamed to say that I’m a Democrat and have been a Democrat all my voting years. This has got to be the sleaziest campaign they have ever run, along with the sleasest person they have ever put up for election.

I have noticed a lot the “has beens” like Madonna saying the nastiest things about Sarah Palin; who is very popular right now. Madonnna’s friend, Sandra Bernhardt did the same thing too. I will never understand women, putting other women down like that. To me that indicates a very sick mind. If Madonna was not putting Sarah Palin down, I doubt if many people would notice her today.
Other “has beens” in my opinion are: Baba Walters, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, and Baba Streisand. Since Jane Fonda, became a born again Christian, we do not hear much from her politically now.

Lately I have noticed a rather high level of t.v. programming with topics on civil rights issues and past injustices to AA’s. I don’t believe it is a coincidence. Typically I find these programs very interesting and educational, but in the current political climate so close to the elections, I’m afraid it could have an inflammatory effect. In fact, I’m wondering if it is designed to have such an effect. If this is the case, it is a VERY irresponsible use of televised media.

I just want to mention a couple of things to me gay and lesbian brethren. Obama began his campaign with “The Gospel Tour”. In that tour he paraded through churches in the South with anti-gay zealots preaching how jesus saved them from homosexuality. Recently, he conducted “The Faith Tour”, also through a bunch of churches, only this time a little more careful about what was said. This year, there are alot of gay issues on the ballot in several states. Historically, AA voters have NOT been supportive of Gay Rights and Marriage issues. Biden said as much when he stated “marriage is between a man and woman only”. Those who support Obama better realize that the great numbers of AA voters that will turn out to vote for Obama will also be most likely voting against any gay rights issues on the ballot also. How can we gays continue to support this guy is beyond me. Bizzaro world- your heads are in the sand. Hold his feet to the fire. Make him tell us his stand on these issues before the voters before you unconditionally support him.
