Senator Obama, Ambition and the Narcissistic Vampire Checklist

Senator Obama’s blind ambition leads him to associate with anyone and everyone that will give him a leg up. This man will do and say anything with and for anyone if it gets him where he wants to go. Well, he is a politician after all, but Senator Obama takes this methodology to a whole new level. Past is prologue.

Months ago, for the sake of my own sanity, I tried to view him with compassion and find some justification for his behavior. Perhaps his deep abandonment issues regarding both parents, coupled with having to choose between a black or white identity indicate that he has never really felt he belonged anywhere. And perhaps that is what makes him determined to fit in everywhere.

Didn’t he himself say that he is a blank slate onto whom others project their hopes or dreams? Quite the survival skill, eh?

He appears to be a man without a center, the ultimate people pleaser – charismatic, flirtatious, telling everyone what they want to hear. I have not witnessed him get upset about anything or any principle, nor has he ever been attached to any policy enough to expend any political capital on it. Unless, of course, he is being attacked, then it’s full steam ahead.

To protect his own name he will employ any and all means necessary – fair or foul. That is why his campaign has seen fit to play the race card constantly, and if that vile strategy works to deter all comers, so much the better. If it does harm to the electorate by stirring up divisiveness, racial tension or harms innocent people in the process, no matter. The ends justify the means.

For the life of me I cannot smell an underlying allegiance to any particular philosophy. How else could he meet with Israelis one day and Palestinians the next and tell each group exactly the opposite of the other – and get away with it. I still cannot figure out if he is the most radical lefty liberal or a closet Republican.

Some are under the impression he is not very smart. I disagree. I think it takes a great deal of energy and at least some intellect to so obfuscate every issue and every phrase so that we are all left scratching our heads at the end of the paragraph.

I have come to the conclusion that his halting, meandering verbal style (sans teleprompter) is a slick trick: his statements don’t come out not making sense because he is stupid. They come out not making sense because he wants it that way – so you can never define him on any issue. No, I never said that, what I really meant was…

That is why it never sounds like he is telling the truth. If you are making a true statement you don’t require fifty ers ahs ums aahs aaaaaaaaannnnd ands. What we are seeing is a man constantly trying to evade capture. If he just runs fast enough, you will never be able to pin him down.

That reeks of fear to me. As if he made one wrong decision, he would be irrevocably harmed. As Candy Crowley of CNN just reported, he will go nowhere without his teleprompter – not one mistake, Senator, not one organic or spontaneous phrase. Heaven forefend we see the real you.

Aside from his tactics, his disingenuousness, or his lack of a coherent, believable political philosophy or plan, there is an even more worrisome aspect to his persona that I find the greatest reason to not vote for him. The most dangerous thing about Senator Obama may not be that he believes in the crooked, divisive, radical people with whom he has allied himself in the past – but rather that he is just using them all just as he is using us.

But whether you believe he is driven by arrogance and ambition or a very specific endgame that yet remains hidden, I am not sure which is the more dangerous: to have a President of no philosophy or a President with a radical one? We require leadership, not someone who can be blown about with the prevailing winds. And if indeed he does have a more radical agenda, how would we ever determine it?

If he sat in Reverend Wright’s church for 20 years and never believed one horrid word that came out of Wright’s mouth, what was he doing there? You either believe the divisive rhetoric or you are just there for 20 years for political ‘street cred.’ There is no positive way he can spin himself out of that one.

Actually, he does have one overriding philosophy – and it is a through thread that holds true at all times – idol worship. He is very clear on the way he expects us to treat him. But how he is going to treat us – that’s where the waters get muddy.

Senator Obama ran to the left of Hillary to endear himself to the MoveOn.Org crowd, and once he had their votes in the primary, threw them under the bus along with his prior stances on FISA, NAFTA and public financing. He dumped them all without as much as a backward glance and then said blithely ‘I understand if it’s a deal breaker, but where else are you gonna go?’

Amidst this horrid financial crisis, Senator McCain made a bold move by offering up a mortgage restructuring plan, modeled after Hillary’s, which he gave her credit for. First Obama tried to pretend it was his. When that didn’t work, he trashed it, saying the plan will not work. Did he offer a plan of his own? No. He seems to have no concern for the good of the American people, just what gets him his own way.

In Pennsylvania, he just indicated that reforming health care and education are now in jeopardy because of the economic crisis and rescue bill. Just what he was waiting for – ‘gee, guys, I can’t do any of the other stuff I’ve been promising you either.’

When a man has no allegiance to the truth and or even to the ardent supporters who put him on the map, how can we trust that he will ever do anything he promises? The DNC doesn’t appear to have any need to hold his feet to the fire either but instead line up to be kicked in the pants and keep stumping for him.

Just ask Rep. John Lewis, who most unjustifiably played the race card on Senator Obama’s behalf even though he had previously been threatened with primary challenges by the Obama campaign, and was pressured into changing his support from Senator Clinton. Just ask General Wesley Clark who was unceremoniously thrown under the bus after taking on John McCain’s qualifications on Face the Nation. Yet Clark, too, is still out there, good soldier that he is, campaigning for this callous man.

The press treats Obama to a double standard unlike any I have ever seen. He flip flops on core Democratic principles with no consequences even from his own party in this ‘no-lose’ year for Democrats. What are they so afraid of, I wonder, that they indulge him like an angry child throwing a tantrum? Complete adulation is all he will accept. Anything else is tantamount to treason.

But live by the sword, die by the sword. If you pretend you stand for everything, ultimately you stand for nothing. His reluctance to stand for a tough vote and make a decision, his arrogance, coupled with the elusiveness that has propelled him so far in his career are precisely the things that will derail him in the end, either in November or down the road. It is impossible to look at a man for some 21 months and still have no idea who he is, unless he doesn’t want you to know.

That is not leadership I can believe in. I need to believe in more than the glory of a name. I need to believe in the person who is under it.

I ran across an interesting and entertaining item prepared by Albert J. Bernstein, Ph.D. called the Narcissistic Vampire Checklist and in closing, I thought I’d share it with you:

The smartest, most talented, all-around best person in the world test:

1. This person has achieved more than most people his or her age.

2. This person is firmly convinced that he or she is better, smarter, or more talented than other people.

3. This person loves competition, but is a poor loser.

4. This person has fantasies of doing something great or being famous, and often expects to be treated as if these fantasies had already come true.

5. This person has very little interest in what other people are thinking or feeling, unless he or she wants something from them.

6. This person is a name dropper.

7. To this person it is very important to live in the right place and associate with the right people.

8. This person takes advantage of other people to achieve his or her own goals.

9. This person usually manages to be in a category by him or herself.

10. This person often feels put upon when asked to take care of his or her responsibilities to family, friends, or work group.

11. This person regularly disregards rules or expects them to be changed because he or she is in some way special.

12. This person becomes irritated when other people don’t automatically do what he or she wants them to do, even when they have a good reason for not complying.

13. This person reviews sports, art, and literature by telling you what he or she would have done instead.

14. This person thinks most criticisms of him or her are motivated by jealousy.

15. This person regards anything short of worship to be rejection.

16. This person suffers from a congenital inability to recognize his or her own mistakes. On the rare occasions that this person does recognize a mistake, even the slightest error can precipitate a major depression.

17. This person often explains why people who are better known than he or she is not really all that great.

18. This person often complains of being mistreated or misunderstood.

19. People either love or hate this person.

20. Despite this person’s overly high opinion of him or herself, he or she is really quite intelligent and talented.

SCORING: Five or more true answers qualifies the person as a narcissistic emotional vampire, though not necessarily for a diagnosis of narcissistic personality. If the person scores higher than ten, and is not a member of the royal family, be careful that you aren’t mistaken for one of the servants.

Please tell me if this reminds you of anyone?

For the HBO watchers…

Let’s give him a bottle of TrueBloodTM and send him on his way.
He’s Bill Compton and his Obots are his Sookie Stakehouse.

Title Song…

I wanna do bad things to you.

When I came in the air went out.
And every shadow filled up with doubt.
I don’t know who I think I am,
But before the night is through,
I wanna do bad things to you.

He’s the kind to sit up in his room.
Power drunk an’ lips filled up with blue.
I don’t know what we’ve done to him,
But I know this much is true:
he wants do bad things to you.

When he came in the air went out.
And all those shadows there are filled up with doubt.
he don’t know who he thinks he is,
But before the night is through,
He wants to do bad things to you.
He wants to do real bad things to you.
Ow, ooh.

He don’t know what he wants to do,
But we know this much is true:
He wants to do bad things to you.
He wants to do real bad things to you.

I do not understand at all. When McCain’s citizenship was in question, the news are everywhere. Why the media (even FOX) do not report the Berg v. Obama case?

Ani has exactly nailed down why I can never vote for Obama. With McCain I have a pretty good idea what he will do in a ‘given’ situation. I don’t always agree with it, but that’s life. With Obama I have no idea what he will do in any situation. He says something, says something else, and says something else again … all in the space of a few minutes. Obama cannot be trusted. I will not vote for somebody I can’t trust.

Comment by trist | 2008-10-13 18:17:03

We ONLY see the real him, when he’s making those off the cuff remarks such as “you’re likeable enough, Hillary” or about his “typical white grandmother”
or labeling small town folks as bitter gun clinging bible thumping racists, or just today when basically confirmed his socialist agenda while talking with that plumber.

It doesn’t matter how hard he later tries to smooth those comments over, they stay with people, because we know that’s the REAL him. You may actually like that about him, but that is who people are making their decision on whether to vote for him, not the him who delivers those lofty meaningless stump speeches.

And as far as never seeing him get mad. No, we haven’t seen him shout and act violently, but we HAVE seen it. Don’t you remember the look in his eyes at that last debate with Hillary, when the guys from ABC were FINALLY challenging him on things? The guy looked like he wanted to slap the bejezus outta all 3 of them. And that’s not the only time we’ve seen that look. He gets it whenever anyone says something he doesn’t like. Or “gets to him”
Which scares me more than if he DID rant once in a while.
Someone who bottles anger up like that, who can’t or won’t express it in a healthy manner is MORE likely to react rashly when they can no longer contain it. You really want to see someone like that with their finger on the button?
I know I don’t!

Comment by Liberty Belle not for Obama | 2008-10-13 18:31:14

I don’t want to see Obama’s finger on the button, either. Re: challenging him on things – I remember. Wish the media would review the fact that Ayers was brought up in the last debate between BHO and Hillary – and the response of his campaign and supporters reminds me of many items on the checklist above (like #11, 12, 14, 15, 16 and 19).

Agreed, Barry has a scary glare when he’s angry or PO’d. Have an image of a Halloween costume with with Barry as a vampire, and the label “Narcissistic Vampire” in a dripping blood script.

Comment by Docelder | 2008-10-13 18:48:18

His finger belongs on an Illinois “present” button. The button seems to be invented just for him. Let South Chicago keep “hope and change” for themselves… they created him. They can feed him.

Comment by Ani | 2008-10-13 19:10:48

Agreed. And as I stated above, the only time je gets riled up is when he is personally attacked or shown up in some way –as in the ABC debate you mentioned. No, no — he did not like that at all.

Obama Astroturfing Boycott??

Restaurant spices congressional campaign
A general manager of the Hyde Park restaurant Medici, Kirsten Schley, is demanding that the re-election campaign of U.S. Rep. Bobby Rush (D-Ill.) remove her likeness and the restaurant’s name from Rush leaflets and billboards. The INC. Column reports that Schley is angry the pictures were displayed without her permission and that supporters of Rush’s challenger, state Sen. Barack Obama (D-Chicago), are threatening to boycott her restaurant in retaliation.
Rush campaign spokeswoman Maudlyne Ihejirika calls it a “simple misunderstanding,” adding that she would “not be surprised if (Schley) was being goaded into this by one of our opponents.”

So he’s a vampire, eh? NOW I know why I had this weird feeling about Obama all along. You could actually attribute every one of those 20 traits directly to him — that must set a new record!

Comment by Andrew | 2008-10-13 18:24:24

Obama is the epitome of narcissism. If you look it up with Google image search his face will be the first to pop up. He is also a socialist vampire, draining the life-blood from the American people while he sends them into a trance with his rhetoric.

Personally, I don’t think he is that great a speaker. I don’t know but I always laugh when he makes those big dramatic speeches. They seem so phony and his head flops back and forth so fast I think it is going to fly off.

Comment by shirley | 2008-10-13 18:24:33

Comment by Andrew | 2008-10-13 18:28:08

I am always frightened when looking at one of his speeches. His head goes back and forth so quickly. When I try to move my head that quickly I get dizzy and my neck starts to hurt. I think it would be excellent television if he was the one who fainted at one of his speeches and an audience member asked him if there was a doctor.

Comment by DAB | 2008-10-13 19:18:08

Maybe all that head flopping is merely what he has to do in order to read the monitor.

Comment by Monet | 2008-10-13 18:26:23

This is off topic, but when did Senator Obama get his own flag? I haven’t noticed it before. But tonight on a clip of Senator Obama there were three flags behind him, the one in the middle was the U.S. flag. On either side of Old Glory were flags with wide red and white stripes, the blue rectangle with a splattering of stars and in the middle of the blue was a great big red and white ‘O.’

Is the ‘O’ flag new or has my subconscious been censoring what I notice?

Comment by Arabella Trefoil | 2008-10-13 18:36:32

Isn’t that the State flag for Ohio?

Comment by Monet | 2008-10-13 18:47:09

You’re right, it is Ohio’s state flag. I only caught a glimpse of it on tv and I thought the ‘O’ was in a rectangle. But further study of it at bravenewfilms.com indicates the flag belongs to Ohio.

It’s funny in a macabre way that I’d presume a flag with an ‘O’ on it must be the latest Obama campaign brilliant idea.

Comment by DAB | 2008-10-13 19:19:28

I can’t blame you for thinking that after what we’ve seen so far.

ani, I think applying psychological constructs to political figures is not fruitful.

I think, personally, that it’s just OK to “get” the essence of the campaign and the person.

For me? It’s that Obama wishes to be the first AA president.

Comment by FembotsForObama | 2008-10-13 18:44:45

I strongly disagree with him wishing to BE the first AA president.

He BELIEVES that it his DESTINY. And he has spent his entire life surrounding himself with people who perpetuate that belief.

Comment by Ferd McBerfle | 2008-10-13 19:05:48

Obama is only about Obama and for Obama. It has nothing to do with race (albeit, it is a very convenient excuse) or ideology. He is egocentric to the exclusion of all else.

Comment by imustprotest | 2008-10-13 19:17:48

He’s definately a Narcissist, no doubt about it, I don’t care what AnninCa says, the guys mental. He lives in his own reality, which is what allows him to lie so easily and hold and argue 2 or more positions at the same time. I’ve been saying this for months….NPD! You DON’T want to give someone w/NPD power, esp the ultimate power! OMG. Why don’t people see this? Wake up people.

Comment by Ferd McBerfle | 2008-10-13 19:29:07

Ferd, I’ve known Narcissists, truly mentally ill ones….I can smell them a mile away, or you might say I have radar for them….I picked up on his Narcissism months ago which is why I starting blogging. He’s dangerous because he’s really not rational. He SEEMS rational, but that’s how they get away with it, people think they are just confident or a little bit egotistical and see no harm to them, but they are dangerous.

I just cannot understand the parallel universe thing. My boyfriend is an Obama supporter and he thinks he is the nicest man and I am just misunderstanding him and have been brainwashed by republicans! Funny, back in March I decided I would never be able to vote for him. That was before I found this blog or had even decided I could vote republican this year!

I keep telling the bf, no republican has made me or tried to make me afraid of Barrakula. Barry made me afraid of him all by himself.

For a while, early on, I tried to stay open minded and waited for him to give me some reason to change my mind about him or find out I was wrong, something to make me want to vote for him. Well, I’m still waiting….nothing happened except to cement what I believed.

Another terrific article, Ani.

But what does it say about our nation when the likes of Clark, the Clintons, Ferraro, et al are all willing to stay silent or change their tunes rather than speak out about this fraud.

Are they all so desperate to hang on to their jobs and power that they would rather see the nation crumble than speak up?

How are we to respect them if they show no integrity? Party is more important than truth. Not one of these people has challenged the MSM to ask for Obumble’s birth certificate, college records, or Ill. Senate records, all of which have magically disappeared or been sealed. Why, if there’s nothing to hide?

How is it Congressman “Duke” Cunningham is sent to jail for accepting bribes, such as purchasing his house for thousands of dollars below market value, yet Obumble buys his for $300 thousand below market value from a convicted felon and it isn’t even questioned by the DNC, MSM, or the Democratic party?

Gee, you think we’re being bamboozled?

Comment by WasLNbutNoBamaBotsKeepStealingMyName | 2008-10-13 18:46:00

Yes, as much as I love the Big Dawg and Hillary, and I can understand what a tough position they must be in, I can’t help but feel that their support of nobama will hurt them in the future.

Comment by DAB | 2008-10-13 19:24:52

I bet the Clintons know a lot more about Obama than they are letting on which explains some of their lukewarm enthusiasm. However I agree that if he is indeed as bad as we surmise, they should speak out. Of course, if they did, it’s obvious that they would be labeled as poor losers and much, much worse. The Clintons are in a very tough position — I understand their dilemma — still I also wish that SOMEONE would stand up, expose Obama for what he is, and career be damned!

Comment by csuzeq | 2008-10-13 20:04:30

Comment by FembotsForObama | 2008-10-13 18:41:30

I’m not sure if I believe that Obama is so intelligent; I feel is actually moderately so. Rather, it seems to me that he is very skilled in this type of manipulative role — the ultimate go-along-to-get-along person with one single drive and that is to be higher in the food chain than anyone else. It was started early in life with his ultra radical family and their friends/associations and he used it to further his career via Chicago and to convince others to get him into Harvard. We can’t even see a record of Obama’s class courses, GPAs, LSAT scores, samples of writing or anything else for that matter that would honestly reflect upon his intellectual abilities. There is considerable argument that Obama used ghost writers for his books.

Obama reminds me too much of Bush in this regard. People say that behind closed doors W is really really intelligent despite his dyslexia, And that his manner in front of the press is to disarm the American public and his critics. I believe the same about Obama’s hedging everything he says, and then sole reliance upon teleprompters to address basic crowds. Obama spends no time with anything unless it has utter adulation for him. It takes a great deal of work, brain power, and skill to be able to effectively deal with those who don’t agree with you. Obama isn’t known by any one else who doesn’t agree with him. At Univ of chicago Law School a conservative professor made repeated attempts to engage Obama in debates/talks and Obama would NEVER speak to him.

I can’t vote for Obama for numerous reasons, and the refusal to release info about his campaign donors, birth certificate, combined with his involvement with Raila Odinga, his brutal tribal Kenyan cousin who lost his own election for president (and made agreements with Muslims who want to impose Sharia law) is very very troubling.

Comment by addad | 2008-10-13 19:23:40

to your point on Obama’s writing ability, here is site which claims Ayers rewrote Obama books. http://www.worldnetdaily.com/?pageId=77815. The fact Obama refuses to release anything on his schooling, medical or social standing is contrary to fair consideration and open dialogue about the potential nominees to become POTUS. It should required to be in the public record. However, the MSM just refuses to hold this guy accountable.

Comment by DAB | 2008-10-13 19:30:46

I read that article earlier today and strongly recommend it. Interesting tidbit was this example of BO’s poetry:

Under water grottos, caverns
Filled with apes
That eat figs.
Stepping on the figs
That the apes
Eat, they crunch.
The apes howl, bare
Their fangs, dance …

A great poet he’s not and I just bet you could psychoanalyze the poem and come up with some interesting conclusions about the one who wrote it.

Do you remember that song by Reba MacIntire, years ago, called “The Greatest Man I Never Knew.” Don’t we all know someone who we can’t just seem to get to know. It’s like that person is there but not really there. There is no there there. My opinion is that such people have a greater likelihood of being Borderline Personality Disorder. People with BPD have a difficult time with feelings. They appear to be soulless. There is no core self and there is a great need to control others and other situations. People with BPD are more likely to have addictions and eating disorders. Too, BPD overlaps with Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Both personality disorders are serious mental illnesses. Read any book on emotional or physical abuse and you will read that the offending partner has one or both of these personality disorders.

Although Fox News today had some commentators on today that suggested that with all the voter fraud going on that the election might not be decided until Christmas! Good lord. Shades of 2000.

They caught Obama trashing his/Hillary’s plan in Feb….that he has rolled out today.

Of course, in typical Obama style such as Ani described, they have caveat.

He wasn’t criticizing her plan but the interest rate freeze part of the plan. Which seems imperative to long term success. How can they dig themselves out of a hole with the same terms that got them into that hole in the first place?

The rising cost of gas, food, and interest rates was the perfect storm for a lot of families, but that doesn’t mean those interest rates lose their bite after a 90 day foreclosure moratorium.

The article ends with a shot at Hillary for not foreseeing the bailout plan back in Feb.

~~

http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/1008/From_disastrous_to_part_of_the_plan.html

“ALSO: Obama’s foreclosure moratorium would not, unlike Clinton’s, be imposed unilaterally; it would be a condition of participation in the $700 million bailout. So — unlike Clinton’s plan — it’s, in a sense, it’s a matter of reciprocity between the banks and the government, a cost to the banks of the infusion of money.”

Comment by lusitania | 2008-10-13 23:20:11

Of course it was somewhat different than Clinton’s plan. When she was running there was no $700 million bailout!

If intelligence means you steal every speech, every idea, every policy, every last rhetorical device from someone else i guess he could be considered intelligent. But if not, this guy got through Columbia and Harvard ripping off other’s stuff, plagiarizing and pandering to every one around him. He’s a sick little boy angry his mama left him with absolutely no leadership qualities except to let Ayers, Wright and Farrakhan take over the WH. McCain better as hell win because what’s happened so far with this guy is only the beginning.

No Compromise When it Comes to Being Right!
Phil Berg is my guest today on No Compromise Radio

UPDATE: I scheduled a show with Attorney Phil Berg who has filed a lawsuit against Barack Obama for not being a US Citizen therefore he is an illegal alien.

My show was terminated at the beginning of the show. Why? The BTR assistant Director of Customer Relations, Shannon Dingee-Kramer stated that my show was, “racially or ethnically offensive, defamatory, unreasonably violent, threatening, intimidating or harassing; 2. contains falsehoods or misrepresentations that could damage BlogTalkRadio or any other person;

In other words, those who claim to be for free speech are afraid of it when they see it. It might offend someone and that’s far more important to protect than the American Principle of exercising the flow of speech in the arena of public ideas.

So I am officially off the air until further notice thanks to the Obamunists and Islamists who support him!

I want to thank all of you for your faithfulness to my growing show.

Monday at 2:00 PDT, October 13th–Click here to listen
THE CALL IN NUMBER IS 646.200.4641

Today, my guest is Phil Berg, Philadelphia lawyer has filed a federal lawsuit against Barack Obama alleging that Obama is not a natural born Citizen of the US, a requirement clearly spelled out in the US Constitution,

No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty five years, and been fourteen Years a resident within the United States. ~Article I, Section I.

Interesting, CNN’s Candy Crowley’s observations of Obama’s instant deflation sans teleprompter..Like a Souffle in the hands of an apprentice cook promptly deflating it. When the inexperienced chef with an oven mitt is carelessly removing it before it’s done!

Which, I happen to totally agree with…

In fact, I devoted my entire Blog today to Obama’s strange idiosyncrasy of turning into a simpering, stumbling, partial mute; when FATE steps in short circuiting his beloved teleprompter script from his purview!

One would think after two years on the road repeating the same talking points day in and day out criss crossing the country tacking on thousands of miles of repetition. Something would stick or click, something known to most others as a “plan”!

The old lament…”Just Words”..meaningless words created for effect to draw the smiles and applause from audiences coast to coast…are just that, nothing more than gratuitous “words” flowing from Senator Obama.

Could it be..his words are forgettable and considered clutter, not committed to memory as a “plan” because….they never will be?

Uh-Huh!

Thank you for posting a mind bending post.

Ani, what a great post, especially this core:

If he sat in Reverend Wright’s church for 20 years and never believed one horrid word that came out of Wright’s mouth, what was he doing there? You either believe the divisive rhetoric or you are just there for 20 years for political ‘street cred.’ There is no positive way he can spin himself out of that one.

Actually, he does have one overriding philosophy…idol worship…But how he is going to treat us …

Comment by Galt, Master Thrall of Planet Triskelion | 2008-10-13 19:42:39

Ani,
I too tried to step back and view Obama through a clear lens.
He will not be blown about with the prevailing winds…he knows exactly what he wishes to achieve, and it has nothing to do with the betterment of this country!
If that were the case, he would have gained some experience!
He is a master manipulator, and a PARASITE that will drain the life from his hosts!
Look at all the havoc he is already reeking!

- Very well-said Ani!!! Wow!! You have a way with words.

Obama really does talk like a man on the run. He doesn’t want to talk without a teleprompter because he might slip up and say something incriminating.

Comment by DAB | 2008-10-13 20:10:10

I wonder if his “Let them eat pie” comment was on the teleprompter. Somehow I think that was spontaneous — perhaps his only such moment.

Comment by Anne Marie | 2008-10-13 20:22:16

Wonderful and accurate commentary, Ani! I believe it was once said that “An egotist is anyone more interested in himself than in me.” I guess that defines Obama to every extent.

Yes, he is the ultimate narcissist, the pathological liar, and the closet racist. He is the social climber, the political opportunist, and the classic “user.”

If he is elected, I believe his innaugraual speech will say, “Ask not what you can do for your country. Ask what you can do for me.”

We will be really screwed if this cartoon character gets elected. It might me satisfying to see the “shock and awe” on his supporters’ faces when they realize they’ve been scammed by the biggest con artist of our time, but I don’t think “I told you so” will be cathartic enough to help us endure a possible 4-year term, because we will surely all suffer the consequences.

Comment by Patience | 2008-10-13 20:50:38

A little armchair psychiatry is almost irresistable in the case of Obama. When one learns of his upbringing it’s hard NOT to believe the guy has some serious mommy (and other) issues. It’s a wonder he ISN’T The Talented Mr. Ripley!

His secrecy and extreme desire to control his image seems nearly pathological. I remember the look on his face when he lost NH to Hillary. He couldn’t control himself — the expression of deeply wounded pride and ego came through. I saw it again as he walked off the stage after the first debate with McCain — he knew he didn’t do as well as his opponent. But the fawning media bailed him out and declared him the winner nevertheless.

I strongly suspect this has been a pattern throughout much of his adult life: since he has a nice-looking, non-threatening veneer and is reasonably well spoken, people make excuses or outright lies and distortions on his behalf. It’s easy for him to be manipulative — lots of people seem more than willing to meet him half way. Or more.

His body language during [what little I saw of] his O’Reilly interview kinda sickened me: he was touching O’Reilly’s knee, leaning forward — so eager to please. Yuck.

This latest National Enquirer story isn’t really news to me — I’ve read about him and his “surrogate father” Frank Marshall Davis before. What DOES shock me is that the NE is even bringing it up. Why do I have a feeling that, after last week’s ditty about the former gay porn czar being a big bundler for his campaign, that there may be yet another National Enquirer story to turn this into a trilogy?

Comment by imustprotest | 2008-10-13 21:40:23

After Obama lost Nevada to Hillary (which he really tried hard to cheat and win) he didn’t make any statement at all and of course no congratulations as is customary….he got on his plane and left. He’s a really sore loser.

Ani, another spot-on comment of The One. I was married to a narcissist for some time, and The One is clearly one. The vampire stuff applies to them because they do suck life right out of people who have to live with them. It’s an egocentric way of being. And they absolutely cannot stand criticism. They are NEVER guilty of anything in their minds. I know the ontogeny of narcissism, having read up on this. It’s sad in a way–but more sad and frightening is a true, deep narcissist for President.

Palin and McCain need constantly to point out his “guilt.” It needs to be constant and factual. Simply factually stating what he is guilty of–dates, quotes, places, etc. He will finally blow up. That’s the best way to expose them.

Comment by imustprotest | 2008-10-13 21:44:19

Yes, good description. They suck the life out of everyone around them. That’s exactly what is has done in this campaign too. McCain needs to get on him and stay on him, like you said, don’t let up, don’t let up, don’t let up….right in front of the cameras. Something needs to happen Wednesday too to rattle Obama just a little bit….then McCain should go for it.

“…Didn’t he himself say that he is a blank slate onto whom others project their hopes or dreams? Quite the survival skill, eh?”

For me, this sentence says it all. I believe that when it comes to Barack Obama the likes of William Ayers have used him and as their blank slate and the hope is that an Obama presidency will bring about the radical reform and move toward socialism that Ayers and the Weather Underground have tried to foist upon the country since the 1960’s. Originally using vile acts of terrorism as the ends to promote their cause they are now using Barack Obama as the torchbearer for their cause.

Rezko, Pelosi, Dean and Brazile are also culpable.

Ani,

I’m gratified to read your blog. I’ve felt like Cassandra for about a year now. I realized almost immediatly that Obama has Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD), but I’ve found that it is almost impossible to convince anybody. I’ve had extensive dealings with people who have NPD and if you feed them with attention, admiration, worship, and diefication, (narcissistic supply) it’s like throwing gas on a fire. They become insane monsters when huge throngs worship them.

Coincidently, I just read the most extensive, insightful, and chilling article on Obama and his undeniable Pathological Narcissism by the author Ali Sina at FaithFreedom.org .Your article is really good, but Mr. Sina’s article completely strips Obama of his slick facade, and leaves him no place to hide, or gives him No Quarter.

I would be grateful if some of the poster’s here would read the article and post their thoughts on this thread. I’m not an alarmist person, but I can’t ignore the components I see gathering that might create the perfect storm.

Comment by Ani | 2008-10-14 01:37:45

Thanks for your comment, Andrew.

I’ll go take a look at the other article.

And you are not alone — many of us out here (whether we comment or read here or not) know the true character of Obama.

Hang in there.

Comment by Susan B. | 2008-10-14 09:13:25

What scares me most is his naivete about the motives of others. I know people think he is savvy, yet I feel otherwise. I see Obama as someone who is so hungry for attention and adulation he is willing to be used used used by those whose motives and intentions are devious. I agree, he wants acceptance at all costs; even willing to sell his souls to devils to achieve same. Is there anyone he has associated with in his life who is not a terrorist, tied to radical ideologies, who hates America? If so, I do not know any. Perhaps he does not share their extreme views, yet is willing to be their pawns in order to be someone, to be accepted, noticed, liked. That makes him so scary indeed. While he is sitting around stroking himself, thinking he is so great that these “high thinkers” like and adore him, they are plotting and planning around him and in the process he has been brainwashed and turned into a pawn for those who hate America and wish its destruction. Obama is one dangerous and frightening individual. So are his “friends, mentors, associates”. I have spent the last months trying to tell everyone I know about the real Obama but so few will pay attention or believe me. It may be a very sad day in America come Nov. 5.

Comment by Andrew191 | 2008-10-14 11:29:43

Understanding pathological narcissism, and realizing that Obama has it, greatly simplifies the political equation. All of the debates about policies, past acquaintences, Christian or Muslim, or social/moral issues are moot. Obama’s NPD trumps all else. All of his promises, policies, and mock faith simply serve as smoke screens that prevent people from seeing things as they really are. All you need to know about Obama is that he will say and do ANYTHING if he believes that it will serve his need for power. If he thought that being a Muslim was the most direct route to power, he would be a Muslim. If he believed that being a Republican would have put him in the White House, that’s the direction he’ld have taken. The basic point is that he does not intend to honor any of his promises, (unless it gets him more power) and he certainly doesn’t give a rat’s ass about you, me, this country, or anything else beyond his own insatiable need to be worshipped.

It may appear that Obama is a puppet with strings controlled by backstage characters, but that is deceiving. People with NPD always have thier co-dependents that may look like handlers, but in reality they are the nurturing half of a symbiotic relationship. When the whole Narcissistic fantasy (or nightmare) eventually collapses, those closest to the almighty leader are the first to lose thier heads. There are countless examples throughout history. It will be unimaginable dissaster if the USA falls prey to the historically destructive cycle that starts when a pathological Narcissist is elavated to the leadership role.
