Gemini splashdowns were happening frequently during 1965 and 1966, but as far as I know – all ten of the splashdowns were in the Caribbean. It’s possible that Senator Obama watched a Gemini splashdown on tv with his grandfather. But it would not have been in person, unless somehow he and his Grandfather managed to be on a naval ship in the Caribbean prior to 1968, in 1968 in the Pacific for Apollo 8 (that splashdown was not close enough to Hawaii to reach in day via a boat) or in the Pacific after Senator Obama’s return to Hawaii in 1971.

Senator Obama probably isn’t lying about watching a Gemini splashdown on tv with his grandfather since I think it was 1966 or 67 when he moved to Indonesia. If he said he watched it from the ocean, his memory is very foggy.

Unfortunately, this generation doesn’t know that forty years ago single or divorced women had a terrible time obtaining credit to buy a car, a home, open a charge card without a man to co-sign. They don’t know that in 1960 if a woman graduated summa cum laude from the University of Michigan’s School of Law (a top law school in the nation then and now), she would be offered positions as a legal secretary if she was lucky, not as an associate. They don’t know that woman couldn’t vote between 1789 and the second Woodrow Wilson term. They don’t know there was a time in many states where a woman would be arrested for using birth control or advocating the use of it. They don’t know that women who wanted a career in the military until the 1970’s had to resign themselves to being nurses. They don’t know that flight attendants were fired if they married. They don’t know that when President Bush attended Yale, women weren’t admitted as students. They don’t realize there was a time when women were considered chattel and couldn’t own property.

Young women of today are absolutely clueless. They think using a word like c*nt is cool, expressive and a statement. They are frittering away the respect that their mothers, grandmothers, great grandmothers and great great grandmothers worked so hard to obtain. If a woman is going to break the glass ceiling of the Oval Office, it will be a baby boomer – not the next generation of women they gave birth to.

Think of the unthinkable. Obama just 3 months ago appeared with the comedian at a fundraiser and ‘endorsed” the ugly “joke” that “mothers and sisters are ‘hos”!! Yes, that’s what Obama will bring to the presidency: Woman-bashing and Rapper-thug hoop-sorry…hooligans!
