ACTION THIS WEEKEND: Real Democrats in Ohio for McCain; Harriet Christian in Scranton, PA, for McCain

img_1446.JPG

Please consider volunteering for or donating to the Real Democrats’ RV tour of southern Ohio this weekend. They will depart from Columbus, Ohio, on Friday, and they will canvass towns and festivals in areas of southern Ohio that voted heavily for Hillary Clinton during the primary on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Real Democrats also wants to thank No Quarter for all the support you offered last week. They have almost reached their fundraising goal, and they want to ensure they have enough for gas, fliers and accommodations this weekend. And if they raise enough, they promise to storm Pennsylvania and Virginia before the election. Please consider donating if you cannot join them this weekend. All contributions, large and small, are welcome. And volunteers are welcome on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday or for the whole weekend. The more there are, the more effective Real Democrats will be.

Here is their press release with important contact information:

Now for SusanUnPC on Harriet Christian’s group in Scranton, PA
===================================================

mccainharriet1-1.jpgIf you can’t do the Ohio jaunt (but you still will want to donate to help our McCain Democrats make their Ohio campaign a success), you can’t pass up joining Harriet Christian this Saturday, and every weekend until November. Harried wrote to me today about the coolest person-to-person campaign blitz in Pennsylvania this Saturday, where you’ll travel from Penn Station in NYC to Scranton, PA, and back home to NYC in the evening. UPDATE: E-mail Harriet at hchristian@infnyc.com to CONFIRM, hopefully by mid-afternoon Thursday.

The best parts: The bus trip is free for you, and you’ll meet Harriet and other McCain/Palin supporters. This trip couldn’t be easier: You’ll be helped and given everything you need!

The details: The bus taking you to Scranton leaves NYC’s Penn Station at 9:00 a.m. sharp. Meet up outside Penn Station, along West 31st St., before the corner with Eighth Ave. The bus arrives in Scranton at 11:00 a.m. You’ll return to the bus at 6:00 p.m. and get back to Penn Station @ 8:00 p.m.

NOTE the Scranton location correction:If you want to drive to Scranton,” Harriet says, “meet up with everyone coming from NYC at @ 11:00 at Scranton’s McCain/Palin campaign office at 430 Lackawanna Ave..” GO TO Democrats for McCain at 420 North Main Ave., Scranton, PA 18504. More details follow:

Here’s more from Harriet:

Flyers and other materials will be provided by the McCain campaign. They have flyers for Hillary supporters in Scranton - Hillary won by almost 70% there.

Tell people to dress comfortably - and to wear layers - in case the weather changes.

This is the first weekend trip. The free buses will be provided by the McCain Campaign every Saturday and Sunday for the rest of the campaign.

If I weren’t a few thousand miles away, I’d be there in a heartbeat!

Comment by karen for Clinton - 2012 | 2008-10-15 04:39:36

On Saturday the 11th there was a bus full of real democrats for McCain at the Lady Lynn office on Main Ave in Scranton. Didn’t count heads, but 40 or so NY’ers joined the Scranton volunteers.

There were enough supporters to fill the room wall to wall till they all dispersed to knock on doors.

It went well and it was great to meet them all and share our reasons for not supporting “THAT ONE” this year. It was the live version of reading NQ!
We all were on the same page, we all knew the real barack obama and we all are doing what we can to make sure others get to know him too.

It was great to give Harriet a hug and thank her for opening her mouth when she raged for all of us.

The only press coverage was a TV news crew from Japan and a guy from India.

I quipped that it sure felt like every dem office I’d ever been in in my life and that the “dems for mac” office was like a half-way house for us. This was not your father’s GOP!

If you can’t join them then donate. These volunteers are motivated and actively doing all they can to stop obama and win it for McCain.

REAL Progressives and liberals for McPalin.

Heart warming to meet them in person.

Thank you Harriett and Lady Lynn and all the people who are putting boots on the ground.

Good News from Ohio.

A federal appeals court on Tuesday ordered Ohio’s top elections official to set up a system by the end of the week to verify new voters’ eligibility and make it available to Ohio’s 88 county election boards.

Finally, the court does the right thing. This ACORN thing is a mess. I would think even the Obamatrons would want the whole thing cleared and rectified.

Do we really want another questionable election? The world is watching, people. The idea of making the US election process a mockery is unacceptable. I don’t care what side you’re on. Mickey Mouse registered in Florida?

Let’s get real. Let’s get angry, real angry. Throw the damn bums out!!!! I cannot believe my tax dollars are paying for this nonsense.

Excellent article. Please read about the nexus of leftists, communists, and terrorists aligned with Obama. He is “the one” who brings them all together to topple America as we know it.

Comment by Liz B | 2008-10-15 09:02:43

Attention Larry!

This is the article that need to go up on NQ!!

Thanks Steve in KC, I linked over thinking I was gonna see something about Michelle Obama talking to Newspapers in Africa, what I found in your link was something much better…THIS might be why the records are sealed at Columbia. There is a very real possibility that Columbia is where Barack was learning implementation of the Cloward-Piven Strategy. It’s all starting to make sense. My God this is sinister!!!

THIS IS A MUST READ PEOPLE and email it to DEMOCRATS It is for sure that 80% of ther party has no idea that this is the Left Wing faction’s agenda and they are being used as the tools of implementation!

I want to see them ALL go to jail. How they can stand up and salute the American Flag is the height of hypocrisy, and then they dare to criticize the Real Americans who show up to support McCain and Palin at their rallies? I have now officially left the Democratic Party for good.
I am NOW a Republican!

Comment by ford | 2008-10-14 21:28:39

Michelle Obama calling a news agency in Africa is very hard for me to believe. Are you sure she really did this??

It sounds very out of control.

Comment by Jeremiah God Damn Barack Amerikkka Wright | 2008-10-14 21:38:30

This is a bogus bogus bogus story.

I am willing to be my left fortitude that Michelle is on lockdown being administered valium and botox to keep that smile plastered on her face till election day right now.

No way they let her out from under house arrest to speak to anyone.

Comment by destardi | 2008-10-14 21:42:53

I agree with Jeremiah on this one…

Comment by JohninCA | 2008-10-14 22:12:31

I don’t admire Obama, but I did admire the way his campaign figured out (if I may use my own words here) that Michelle is a woman who should be neither seen nor heard– at least if they want to win this election.

Ford - I’ve read numerous API articles over this election cycle, however, I’m a reader seeking information NOT a pro in the journalism industry. I have found their reporting to be no different than many of our mainstream news outlets.

Is it true, all I know is that I went to the link and read the article.

Do I believe that MO would make such a call to a newspaper in Africa and believe she could vent off the record, yes I do. Apparently she did not request that her conversation be off the record or on deep background.

People do odd things when they are under such enormous pressure. I can’t begin to fathom the pressures she and her children are enduring. But she has demonstrated over and over again that she will speak out to protect her family and to justify her beliefs.

Did she ever believe her words would be printed and broadcast immediately, heavens no. The story will be scrubbed by tomorrow morning I’m sure.

Comment by lark | 2008-10-14 21:58:56

If they are a reputable organization and worth a penny then they would have a recorder to their phones 24/7. If they didn’t record that or have some way of verifying those words then is not worth much more than entertainment.

Operation Exposé #2: Obama and 3-Year-Old Curtis Cooper
By TRAFALGAR

Curtis Cooper was an adorable 3-year-old toddler who loved to ride his tricycle. But Curtis had the misfortune to live in Chicago’s criminally neglected Cabrini Green housing complex. This hellhole of safety violations was “managed” by Obama’s longtime crony, Cullen J. Davis. And so poor Curtis Cooper was crushed to death when an iron gate fell on top of him on June 28, 2008.

Obama is up to his neck in the sewer of Chicago’s public housing scandals, along with his mentor, convicted felon Tony Rezko, Allison Davis (Cullen’s father), who’s Obama’s former law firm boss, and Valerie Jarrett, Obama’s senior advisor. The Boston Globe reported that, as state senator, Obama directed millions of dollars of public funds to these cronies for them to improve public housing. Instead, they pocketed the money, kicked some back to Obama’s campaign, and ignored the public housing in their care, sometimes to the point of outright abandonment.

The system worked beautifully for Obama, whose campaign coffers overflowed, and for his cronies who grew rich at the public trough. But for the poor African-Americans in these projects, who shivered without heat in the winter and endured collapsing roofs and sewage in their kitchen sinks, the system stank. And for the parents of 3-year-old Curtis Cooper, it brought the ultimate tragedy, leaving them only a lifetime of grief and a lawsuit to pursue justice in their son’s name.

Spread this far and wide…forward to everyone you know.

Comment by jbjd | 2008-10-14 21:55:18

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MENTIONING CURTIS COOPER! I am crying. Did you know he was killed on the same day the Boston Globe printed their expose on BO’s abysmal legacy in Chicago’s public housing, Friday, June 27?

Please keep pushing all your wild theories. The polls show that they’re backfiring big time. McCain is seen as erratic, not someone you’d trust in a crisis, and highly negative. Swing voters hate the Ayers attacks. So please, please keep doing all you’ve been doing especially the claims that Obama can’t speak without a teleprompter — all of that is really great in making sure Obama is seen as having won all three of the debates.

Once all the people have had the opportunity to hear the truth, whatever that is, then it is okay to accept how they decide to vote and the next president. What’s wrong is what Obama does. To conceal the truth.

Comment by jackie | 2008-10-14 22:04:26

Have a nice day Debbie. Republicans and pissed off voters never skip a date with the polls on voting days. Students and dicks like Obama supporters do especially if they “know” they have it sewn up.

Go play with your child abusing vulgar Obama DEMS.

I will have my free speech here and your thought police cannot stop me–1st ammendment what a freakin’ bolt of truth that is. I know it is hard to accept that there are those of us who see obama for the racist insurrectionist he is. Tell you buddies if they hassle my kid (10 yrs) again I will insure it is front page news across the known world.

Comment by soldier4hillary | 2008-10-14 22:11:16

Oh thanks! We will! I know here in NC they really liked the flyers I made at Kinko’s with the men wearing the “Sarah Palin is a C^nt” shirts. I like to talk to people and when they start talking about how Senator McCains supporters are out of control etc etc, it gives you the perfect opening to set the record straight. Someone took really really good pictures to. It’s hard to convince people that the media is bias without proof. By the way, THANX Obama supporters!!! Your C^nt shirts are a real hit with the military spouses!

P.S. Tell Axelrod that inflated polls will not stop me from casting my vote for McCain!!! But then again, if my candidate was winning I surely wouldnt be on No Quarter I would be out celebrating. Ohhhh after that last debate….its gonna be oooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!! Just think, people can throw everything they got at him to see if something sticks. Should be fun to watch.

Comment by karen for Clinton - 2012 | 2008-10-15 04:58:36

See my post above Bev. They had mixed results, some were very upbeat upon returning from their visibility and door knocking. It was certainly a step in the right direction to turn the tide.

Just as it was with Hillary we are fighing against constant lies from the ob campaign that are amplified by the complicit in his pocket media.

Everybody needs to join their local McCain office to do whatever they can to GOTV and the truth.

With 20 days left to go - GO FOR IT and don’t hold back. Put up signs, put on bumper stickers, make phone calls, donate, knock on doors, email friends and family, write letters to your newspapers or ones in battleground states, confront media lies on their message boards, get the truth out there and don’t let them get away with stealing the general as they did in the Dem primary.

We Dem PUMAs are the ones who witnessed the crime the first time and need to alert everyone it is happening again. Fight it NOW and hard.

Another Dem for McCain and another and another.

We’ll do our part for victory, we know an ob victory would be an unthinkable horror.

Keep Going!

“And if you think that vicious pit bull he has as a running mate, I mean Governor Palin, is looking out for your interest,” continued Obama, “then you’re sorely mistaken. The only thing she’s interested in is taking us back to the days of lynchings and segregation.”

“Lynch her,” yelled Thomas Zeller, a 37-year old black real estate agent from Dayton, OH. “I’ve seen up close what John McCain has done to people!”

“Lynch the cracker,” exclaimed Jerry Spitzer, a 42-year old black unemployed factory worker evicted from his home in Dayton.

“We’re not gonna let those two racists occupy the White House,” screamed Michelle Obama. “We’re not gonna go back to the days of blacks drinking from colored water fountains. Are we?”

Oh, that’s right. They’re in the tank. All is serene and wonderful in Obamaworld.

Lynch the cracker?

I cannot tell you how disgusted I am by the double standard, the victimization and blatant, unapologetic sexism in this election cycle.

Comment by Peggy Sue | 2008-10-14 22:20:56

Please, Harp. Tell me this isn’t so. Some of the comments at the site say: this is satire.

If so, it’s not very funny or clever or thought provoking. As much as I do not like Obama, I really do not want to believe that this in the tenor during anyone’s stump speech, that it would go unanswered or worse, overlooked, censored and/or sanctioned.

Tell me it ain’t so.

I know this is stupid because I’m the one asking the questions, but in truth, I almost don’t want to know. Yet, I realize we need to know, to think, to oppose.

There’s something incredibly sad in all of this. So destructive and impossibly senseless.

Being in NC and alot of the units going on block leave, they wont be here for early voting!!! Yes Yes I know. It’s wrong, but Hopefully they mail them in, but that is what happens when you inflate numbers, people are thinking there votes are not needed.

Well anyway tomorrow I am going to try and make 50 calls before I go back to signing up last minute people for rides on thursday

Comment by debbie | 2008-10-14 22:02:46

Huh? It’s when folks think they’re losing that they don’t show up. The people who think they’re winning definitely vote because they want to look back and remember how they contributed to getting the next president elected.

Comment by lark | 2008-10-14 22:06:33

You are sure about that? Sure sure?

Comment by debbie | 2008-10-14 22:09:11

That’s the usual pattern. Besides which, the Obama campaign has a magnificent field operation. The McCain folks — not.

Comment by PJ | 2008-10-14 23:53:12

People not voting when they think they’re losing - that’s true of democrats - not republicans. Republicans ALWAYS vote. That’s why dems have to be absolutely united in order to win. Just by this site, you know that dems are NOT united. A PUMA vote counts just as much as a rabid bot - without the foam.

Good luck with the cheating though…that’s the only way you’re going to win.

Comment by Galt, Master Thrall of Planet Triskelion | 2008-10-14 22:08:00

Comment by lisa in va | 2008-10-14 22:25:21

I don’t know if that is true. I’ve voted in all pres elections since I was 19 years old…but not all of the off year elections. Why? Because back then I believed polls & if my candidate was way ahead, I’d just blow off going to vote.

Of course, I will never make that mistake again.

Comment by Newly Independent | 2008-10-14 22:54:43

Huh? It’s when folks think they’re losing that they don’t show up

HA!

It’s really obvious that this is your first election!

Republicans go to the polls to vote on Election Day. Period. They don’t let media “polls” do the voting for them. Voting is a patriotic duty to them. A priviledge not to be taken for granted. And it’s definitely why they’ve won SO MANY Presidential elections. And it’s one of the main reasons why they’ll win THIS election.

Historically, it’s Democrats who struggle with voter turnout during major elections. As an example, look no further than what happened in Ohio over a week ago.

In spite of a record 8.2 MILLION registered Ohio voters (MOST being Democratic) & new voting laws allowing Ohioans same-day registration and voting from Sept. 30th - Oct. 6, take a wild guess as to how many people actually went to to the polls to vote?

28,466.

History is against you, my friend.

So cling to your media polls in desperation. You’ll need ‘em.

soldier this is appropriate to your fixed poll observation and his some other info that should be of interest to everyone. And I know you get it, this is not directed at you personally. I wrote this just a while ago on a previous thread:

I hope this does not come across as a lecture but it needs to be said:

I’ve noticed some comments alluding to riots, get your guns ready, etc. Some of this talk borders into the tin-foil hat paranoia arena. My point is the Obama campaign started this nonsense talk and apparently people are buying into it. The purpose of the riot threats is to spread fear and intimidate. Please do not spread fear and intimidation by propagating this madness! If you want to quietly prepare for civil unrest I understand but don’t make this into a self-fulfilling prophecy. I’m sure the feds know who any riot organizers are if they exist and have them on short leaches ready to yank them in if the need arises.

There has been an influx of poll trolls and inevitability trolls. Please do not feed them. They only seek to distract and lower troop morale. Polls are being used against us as weapons to thwart participation in the Democratic process. It does not matter what the polls say even if they are accurate, while I do not believe they are accurate anyway. Keep fighting for what you believe in! You will never have any regret this way.

Lets get on with the work of electing John McCain so we can stop this evil man from Chicago and his cronies!

Oh I know. I dont beleive any of those polls. They were used against us early on. I am just amazed that anyone would actually believe it.

Obama shields ACORN from Criminal Prosecution in the Economic Crisis
By Marinka Peschmann, Special to Canada Free Press Tuesday, October 14, 2008

Not only did Senator Barack Obama’s presidential campaign pay more than U.S. $800,000 to a front of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform, Now, ACORN, currently under investigation in a dozen States for voter registration fraud and bribery schemes, for “get-out-the-vote-efforts”; Obama co-sponsored legislation called the “Helping Families Save their Homes in Bankruptcy Act of 2007”– that was supported by ACORN and protects them.

Helping Families Save their Homes in Bankruptcy Act, S.2136, was introduced in the Senate by Illinois Senator Richard Durbin over a year ago, on October 3, 2007. It was co-sponsored, by Obama and 12 other Democrats, including Vice Presidential hopeful, Joe Biden, and Chairman of the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee, Senator Christopher Dodd.

According to a Senate transcript, Durbin stated: “It is true that some families knowingly stretched a bit to buy more house than they should have. But many families were sold mortgages they couldn’t afford by unscrupulous brokers… This bill is supported by the AARP, ACORN, AFL-CIO and SEIU, the Center for Responsible Lending, the Consumer Federation of America, NAACP and La Raza, the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, the National Community Reinvestment Coalition…”

Why would groups like ACORN, who according to Stanley Kurtz’s “O Dangerous Pals” undermined “the US economy by pushing the banking system into a sinkhole of bad loans…. by forcing banks to make hundreds of millions of dollars in “subprime” loans to often un-creditworthy poor and minority customers…” support this legislation? Perhaps because it provides Chapter 13 Bankruptcy protections to homeowners who didn’t have the means to buy homes, and it protects people who put those borrowers into these high-risk mortgages.

Durbin’s bill, co-sponsored by Obama, “amends federal bankruptcy law to permit a bankruptcy plan to: modify a [mortgage] secured by the principal residence of a chapter 13 debtor…” It “exempts” them “from the requirement for credit counseling if… that debtor…has been scheduled” for foreclosure. The credit counseling typically distinguishes debtors who, for instance, because of unforeseen medical bills have no alternatives but bankruptcy, from debtors who’ve recklessly or ruthlessly bought homes they couldn’t afford because, according to the Federal Trade Commission, it evaluates a person’s financial situation and discusses alternatives to avoid filing bankruptcy. If this bill becomes law, the “certificate of completion” a debtor receives after the credit counseling process would be waived. Anyone, with a single home, could file Chapter 13 Bankruptcy.

One benefit for filing Chapter 13 is a person is protected from creditors and allowed to keep their real estate and personal property. Another advantage is some debts are discharged that otherwise wouldn’t be under other Bankruptcy Chapters, such as fraud judgments.

Under Chapter 13, the monthly payments are determined by the amount a debtor can afford after paying normal living expenses. That amount is dispersed among their creditors typically “over 3-years” but no more than “5-years.” At the end, the debtor is discharged from their debts, regardless of how much their creditors were paid and the remaining debt is sloughed off eventually underwritten by taxpayers.

This bill goes further than what Obama or Sen. John McCain have proposed to keep homeowners in their homes because it also protects the middle men.

Notice now, another key reason why groups like ACORN support this legislation because it: “Prohibits the court from allowing a claim that is subject to any remedy for damages or rescission due to failure to comply with the Truth in Lending Act or any other state or federal consumer protection law.”

The Truth in Lending Act (TILA) was designed to create “economic stabilization and competition by informed use of credit by consumers (emphasis added).” Under TILA the law also applies “to persons who are not creditors but who provide applications for home equity plans to consumers.” This bill absolves organizations of any guilt or culpability under TILA; perhaps the same organizations who intimidated and bullied banks into providing risky loans to unqualified borrowers like ACORN.

If this legislation does not pass, then these “persons who are not creditors,” could face “criminal penalties” for “willful and knowing violations of TILA,” which could result in a “fine of $5,000, imprisonment for up to one year, or both.”

But there’s more. The Department of Housing and Urban Development reportedly found that “five million illegal aliens hold illegal mortgages.” Who arranged these illegal mortgages?

The Helping Families Save their Homes in Bankruptcy Act is not unique legislation that helps community organizers, and other special interest outreach groups, like ACORN. As reported here Obama’s Citizenship Promotion Act “organizes the immigrant community” by using U.S. $80 million taxpayer dollars for outreach programs targeted at immigrants and future voters.

No wonder ACORN has close ties and endorses some politicians. Durbin’s “Helping Families Save their Homes in Bankruptcy Act,” co-sponsored by Obama, was referred to the Senate Judiciary.

I’m not sure I believe the call is true but if it is then what really gripes me is this part “damage a black man’s name”. I am sooo sick of hearing the race card played. If he were a white man with those same people in his background I would be just as leery.

Comment by jackie | 2008-10-14 22:13:21

I am voting for his un qualified White side and his militant arab part. The black part is of no consequence to me. The bad guys in my world are white russians and brown arabs.

He may take his pick it is his geanology.

As for me I am German, Irish, Scottish, Welsh, and English. Mostly religious radicals calling for the bible to be available in the vernacular. I’ll take my radical past and not it was the catalist for making America a great nation.

Obama and his cousin Odinga are from the tribe of Luo
and they consider/refer to themselves as Taliban

Comment by lark | 2008-10-14 22:23:41

Again you would need something solid to confirm that. Like a video where Odinga or someone like that would be saying it.

Fantastic - but Florida is a battleground too.

PA is a major focus but we need Florida.

Get the word out down there on disenfranchisement in the primary and the swindling of the nomination.

obama blocked democracy then stole it from us with his RBC DNC swindling cabal and foot dragging.

Hillary won. Mac must win.

Comment by Susanjane | 2008-10-15 08:54:51

You are right. Florida is equally important, and I have been doing what I can here. But the Sunshine state will have to do without me for one week-end,
while I canvas in my old stomping grounds where I know I can connect.
Remember what Hillary said. Don’t stop, even when you hear the dogs on your trail, don’t stop.

Here’s another example of Obama’s “New Democratic Party”/Politburo:

http://atlasshrugs2000.typepad.com/atlas_shrugs/2008/10/how-democrats-r.html

Vladimir Lenin put it succinctly. “All that is necessary to destroy a nation is to capture the minds of a single generation.”

BTW, thanks to the PUMAs for their continued hard work!

So this is what the mighty PUMA movement has come to, a batshit YOUTUBE performing artist and maybe two dozen other idiots posing with McCain. A real mass movement that is. Please do go and waste your time in Pennsylvania which Obama has all but locked up.
