“The Coming Liberal Thugocracy”

(bumped up by SusanUnPC)

My aunt sent me an interesting piece by Michael Barone on Monday, Oct. 13, entitled, “The Coming Liberal Thugocracy.” Huh - so I’m not the only one who thinks so. Like so many other concerns about Obama, this originates from something Obama said. Big surprise. Oh, don’t take my word for it:

“I need you to go out and talk to your friends and talk to your neighbors,” Barack Obama told a crowd in Elko, Nev. “I want you to talk to them whether they are independent or whether they are Republican. I want you to argue with them and get in their face.” Actually, Obama supporters are doing a lot more than getting into people’s faces. They seem determined to shut people up.

That’s what Obama supporters, alerted by campaign e-mails, did when conservative Stanley Kurtz appeared on Milt Rosenberg’s WGN radio program in Chicago. Mr. Kurtz had been researching Mr. Obama’s relationship with unrepentant Weather Underground terrorist William Ayers in Chicago Annenberg Challenge papers in the Richard J. Daley Library in Chicago - papers that were closed off to him for some days, apparently at the behest of Obama supporters.

Obama fans jammed WGN’s phone lines and sent in hundreds of protest e-mails. The message was clear to anyone who would follow Mr. Rosenberg’s example. We will make trouble for you if you let anyone make the case against The One.

Uh, yep. I think we have seen just recently the extent to which Obama’s followers will go to support him and attempt to obliterate anyone who has not sworn lifelong fealty to him.

Oh, but you know Obama - it doesn’t just stop at trying to “convince” (read: browbeat, intimidate, threaten) fellow voters:

Other Obama supporters have threatened critics with criminal prosecution. In September, St. Louis County Circuit Attorney Bob McCulloch and St. Louis City Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce warned citizens that they would bring criminal libel prosecutions against anyone who made statements against Mr. Obama that were “false.” I had been under the impression that the Alien and Sedition Acts had gone out of existence in 1801-’02. Not so, apparently, in metropolitan St. Louis. Similarly, the Obama campaign called for a criminal investigation of the American Issues Project when it ran ads highlighting Mr. Obama’s ties to Mr. Ayers.

These attempts to shut down political speech have become routine for liberals. Congressional Democrats sought to reimpose the “fairness doctrine” on broadcasters, which until it was repealed in the 1980s required equal time for different points of view. The motive was plain: to shut down the one conservative-leaning communications medium, talk radio. Liberal talk-show hosts have mostly failed to draw audiences, and many liberals can’t abide having citizens hear contrary views.

Golly gee, I reckon Obama being a big Constitutional SCHOLAR, as his minions love to claim, simply enables him in deciding which parts of the Constitution by which he will actually abide. Free speech? Not so much.

Thankfully, there are a few who still actually care what the Constitution prescribes (remember the day when our elected officials didn’t pick and choose their favorite little bits out of the Constitution and Bill of Rights? Yeah, well, me neither, but holy cow, it wasn’t THIS bad, was it??):

To their credit, some liberal old-timers - like House Appropriations Chairman David Obey - voted against the “fairness doctrine,” in line with their longstanding support of free speech. But you can expect the “fairness doctrine” to get another vote if Barack Obama wins and Democrats increase their congressional majorities.

But you know, it isn’t just limited to these thugs at rallies wearing unbelievably offensive t-shirts, or Obama plants screaming out nasty things at McCain/Palin rallies, oh no. It is more insidious than that:

Corporate liberals have done their share in shutting down anti-liberal speech, too. “Saturday Night Live” ran a spoof of the financial crisis that skewered Democrats like House Financial Services Chairman Barney Frank and liberal contributors Herbert and Marion Sandler, who sold toxic-waste-filled Golden West to Wachovia Bank for $24 billion. Kind of surprising, but not for long. The tape of the broadcast disappeared from NBC’s Web site and was replaced with another that omitted the references to Mr. Frank and the Sandlers. Evidently NBC and its parent, General Electric, don’t want people to hear speech that attacks liberals.

If you have tried to see that video, you know Barone is correct about this. Heaven forbid that anyone actually see that our financial crisis isn’t as simplistic as, “it’s all the Republicans fault!!” Then again, that would require a tad of analytical thinking, something in very short supply, it seems.

You know there is more:

Then there’s the Democrats’ “card check” legislation that would abolish secret ballot elections in determining whether employees are represented by unions. The unions’ strategy is obvious: Send a few thugs over to employees’ homes - we know where you live - and get them to sign cards that will trigger a union victory without giving employers a chance to be heard.

Sigh. I’m sorry, remind me which country this is supposed to be? I need to go check my passport or something, because I THOUGHT this was the United States of America, but the way it is acting now, no, the way the DEMOCRATS are acting now, is giving me pause. Barone, too:

Once upon a time, liberals prided themselves, with considerable reason, as the staunchest defenders of free speech. Union organizers in the 1930s and 1940s made the case that they should have access to employees to speak freely to them, and union leaders like George Meany and Walter Reuther were ardent defenders of the First Amendment.

Today’s liberals seem to be taking their marching orders from other quarters. Specifically, from the college and university campuses where administrators, armed with speech codes, have for years been disciplining and subjecting to sensitivity training any students who dare to utter thoughts that liberals find offensive. The campuses that once prided themselves as zones of free expression are now the least free part of our society.

True that. This is the kicker, though:

“Obama supporters who found the campuses congenial and Mr. Obama himself, who has chosen to live all his adult life in university communities, seem to find it entirely natural to suppress speech they don’t like and seem utterly oblivious to claims this violates the letter and spirit of the First Amendment. In this campaign, we have seen the coming of the Obama thugocracy, suppressing free speech, and we may see its flourishing in the four or eight years ahead. (Michael Barone is a nationally syndicated columnist.)”

The Obama Thugocracy. I think Mr. Barone has coined the perfect term to describe the impact of Obama on this country - and that is the case BEFORE the election. Holy Toledo, can you just imagine the scope should he be elected (read: steal the election with the help of ACORN and Obama surrogates at your local polling place. You know, like the ones documented in “We Will Not Be Silenced” telling folks if they weren’t voting for Obama, to not even bother coming in. Ah, America - America, right??). If, indeed, Obama takes over the White House, I guess women should get used to being called despicable names, because THAT kind of free speech is A-OKAY with the Obama folk. But to actually talk about who Obama IS in ads or anywhere else? Not so much. Not at all, actually. Unless you’re loking for a big-ass lawsuit. All you need to know is he is The One. Nothing else matters, right? Welcome to the US-Obama/Wright/Ayers of A, folks. It’s a whole new world…

The thugocracy that got swatted down is my title.

Comment by Paul F. Villarreal | 2008-10-14 18:19:43

Thank goodness for Barone’s column (which is getting a ton of media attention) and Kurtz’ terrific investigative work.

Win or lose, the deplorable tactics of the Obama campaign, surrogates and supporters must be fully chronicled so that they will never be repeated in the future.

One of the truly detestable aspects of the Obama Chicago Thug Machine was what was done to Hillary Clinton and her supporters. This video provides 3 quick reminders of the disrespect shown Hillary by the Obamas, and the arrogance Barack demonstrated toward Hillary’s supporters:

‘The Obamas on Clinton and her supporters — a reminder’
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gsUnw5RDYoA

Of course, Barack’s ridiculous statement was yet another of his campaign’s legion of race baits.

It is essential that the PUMAs ‘Remember in November’ all of the numerous slights we suffered at the hands of Obama’s Thug outfit, and that we make sure — with are ballots — that these people and their outlandish operation is not rewarded.

Comment by Peggy Sue | 2008-10-14 19:16:12

Don’t worry. PUMAs will never forget nor give a pass to what Obama and the Obamatrons did to Hillary Clinton, and as an extension, to all women. I personally detest the language and and accusations regarding Sarah Palin. Not because I agree with all her positions, but because I remember my mother, my grandmother and aunts and the way they were treated in the workplace, the names they were called, the humiliation and disrespect they contended with, day after day, year after year.

Their sacrifices made it better for me, allowed me the education they only dreamed of and the ability follow my own burning desires.

These were not women who chose to work. They worked because they had no choice. And now, the far-left members of the Democratic Party would limit our ability to choose, to think, to speak out. It’s either their way or no way.

I say, “No!” I say, “No!” today and every day after.

Country before party. Truth before ideology.

I will never forgive Obama or his Obamatrons for what they have wrought. Never! When women feel it’s a-okay to call another woman a C-nt then something is desperately wrong.

Comment by Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy | 2008-10-14 19:16:44

Nice work, as usual, Paul. Thanks for the reminder, I think! Ahem.

You are absolutely right, though - we cannot forget the tactics used this year…

Wow, excellent news Newly Independent!

Former Ambassador under President Clinton, Mark Erwin, wrote today that he is endorsing John McCain for President…here’s what he said:

Sen. Obama does not yet have sufficient leadership experience. He has never led so much as a Boy Scout troop. I am not comfortable thinking of him as the leader of the greatest nation on earth as his first real executive job. In 2007, his running mate, Sen. Joe Biden, said, “I think he can be ready, but right now I don’t believe he is. The presidency is not something that lends itself to on-the-job training.

Polls, schmolls. Please understand that polls are not factual any more than the spin accompanying Oblockhead’s hogwash is truthful. Pollsters of all stripes have used this statistical hocus pocus as a means of diverting attention for years to confuse the electorate and make an election appear to be “over”. You may as well believe in Alchemy and phlogiston.

Comment by tzada | 2008-10-14 23:30:00

The higher they claim Obama is the more I know he is losing….. Now to guard against fraud, because they aim to steal this election.

Comment by noproblama | 2008-10-15 01:21:14

I’m continually amazed at these polls.

Obama and Hillary split the Dem vote in half. A conservative 30% of Hillary supporters will not vote for Obeammeupscotty.

I don’t care how many times they’ve registered the starting lineup of the Dallas Cowboys, the math doesn’t work.

Comment by dpvegas | 2008-10-15 04:52:57

These polls are so skewed. They have become just as corrupt as the pols they claim to be polling on.

When I took statistics in college, on page one of the textbook, there was an incredibly memorable illustration of how these numbers are misleading. It was the presidential debate of 1984 and both candidates for the GE used the same claim, with vastly different numbers. I can’t remember what issue they were talking about, but what I do remember is that neither actually lied. They just used different criteria, and came up with different numbers. It’s easy, if you know how. And I can tell Barky knows how.

He’s an ends justifies the means person, and he’ll equivocate his way to what he wants.

He needs to quit all this, and go find out why he has such a need to hate the white half of himself. It’s an important question.

Comment by Annie Oakley | 2008-10-14 18:28:00

I think it is a CBS-NYT poll, but still… really folks, enough of this “wait til you see the whites of their eyes.” This is scary. They’re talking like it’s over.

Comment by lark | 2008-10-14 19:01:06

Obama is lying big time now. His ads here are huge lies about McCain. The only hope is that if these lies continue to grow like Pinochio’s nose, it will eventually become obvious that the ads are 100 percent deceptive.

But will people that are convinced an ad is deceptive have the courage to switch their vote?

I don’t know.

They may just want to cling to ‘hope.’

Comment by Touchet | 2008-10-14 19:17:13

This is what he did to hillary. I knew it was only a matter of time.

Comment by Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy | 2008-10-14 19:21:48

Oh, really? Isn’t this the same guy who keeps trying to get McCain’s ads off the air claiming they are nothing but vicious lies?? But of course - he can attack below the belt left and right, but how dare ANYONE question HIM?!?!

Sheesh. Someone tell me again how Obama has hijacked the Dem. Party?? Not just the ads, of course, but all of it together - the making of the Thugocracy. How did this happen exactly?

Comment by meileen | 2008-10-14 22:06:51

We lost our democracy in 2000 but didn’t know it.

If O gets in, we’re heading toward socialism. We can only ‘hope’ he is a one term pony, that the people will be pissed and Hillary can stage a comeback in 2012.

Comment by dpvegas | 2008-10-15 05:01:39

Socialism or Islam?

ORGANIZING AND ISLAM<stron

Organizing in neighborhoods has taken two paths that reflect historic dichotomy between integrationist and nationalist strategies. Many top conununity leaders collaborate on urban issues through city’s grasgroots network, forging multi-racial coalitions, while others take black nationalist approach, looking only within the African-American community for leadership and resources.

In first category are Ani Russell of community policing network, 312-461-0444; Jacky Grimshaw, former strategist for Harold Washington now working an community transportation issues; 773-278-4800, ext. 133; and Barack Obama, 773-684-4809, whose work to empower blacks has included his law practice, community organizing, philanthropy and most recently electoral politics: he is a candidate for state senate. A quiet leader with broad vision of empowerment and redevelopment in the Grand Boulevard neighborhood is Sokoni Karanja, 773-373-5700, whose nonprofit Centers for New Horizons provides social services, youth programs, education and child care.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Tuesday once again shows Barack Obama attracting 50% of the vote while John McCain earns 45%. That’s the third straight day with identical numbers and the nineteenth straight day that Obama’s support has stayed in the narrow range from 50% to 52% while McCain has been at 44% of 45%

Comment by Khan Krum | 2008-10-14 18:51:31

That’s right, Lurker. Remember, Reagan was behind by this much or more at this time in 1980 and we all know what happened in that election.

Another thing is that the percentage of people who think that B. Hussein is unqualified to be POTUS is the highest it’s been since Dukakis (44%). Keep your chin up, we will prevail.

Comment by fif | 2008-10-14 19:21:17

That poll is by CBS/NYTimes. Please. Two of the most biased sources available, and what, exactly, is their “polling expertise” based on. Look at the polling companies: Rasmussen & Zogby at 5 & 6 points. Gallup is like 10, but they do not poll Nader at all, and have been getting an 80% hang up rate. Basically, these are all weighted in completely different ways, according to who is doing the polling, and no one seems to know what is really going on, or what will happen November 4th.

Reminder: Kerry was ahead of Bush 51 to 40. How did that turn out?

Comment by Newly Independent | 2008-10-14 21:24:09

This reminds me of when the polls had Obama leading by about 14 points in California during the primary.

Hillary won California by about 10 points.

Don’t trust the polls.

Do you reckon Michelle is O.K. with all the offensiveness aimed at women in this campaign?? I would think she is (if nothing else) a woman with a mind of her own, and would take great offense at being called some of the hateful names, like Hillary and Sarah have been called. Don’t you think she would give Barry a little talking to???? Even if it is aimed at someone else??? And wouldn’t you also think she enjoys her freedom of speech???

Sending in my Independent vote, absentee ballot tomorrow for Mac and Sarah. Just need to get the local recommendations for down ticket from the Republican campaign office to make it 100%. Can’t take any chances of the Dems owning all 3 branches of government.

I haven’t had any contact from the Dems since I changed my registration with the exception of an occasional email or snail mail plea for $$…which I send back as unsubscribe or snail mail (after removing my name from the form) with “NOBAMA/PUMA” in their prepaid envelope.

I suggest that people answer with “Oh, yes, I already voted for Obama.” That ends the discussion. I don’t need arguments, challenges or insults from weasels.

Go ahead, let the weasels confront me. I dare them.

Comment by mimi | 2008-10-14 22:34:19

Here’s something to make your heart sing.

Tonight, here in NYC, I saw a lone, but very brave blonde woman holding large McCain signs and urging people to vote for McCain/Palin. She had a small crowd and was in the midst of a spirited conversation with a Jewish older woman who supported 0bama. A few people passed by and shouted “Go Sarah!” This was in the theatre district, several blocks north of 42nd Street.

I was late for an appointment so I couldn’t linger too long. But no one bothered or harrassed this woman. And I thought I saw a couple of faces who were interested in what she was saying.

Who knows what’s going on with this election. I’m sure a lot of folks are keeping their own counsel.

I agree, the only poll that counts is on a Election Day.

But tomorrow is the 15th.

Comment by bethtopaz | 2008-10-15 00:55:58

Great story! Thanks for that!

I wore my Sarah button into the grocery store today to make a deposit for my insurance bus. at Wells Fargo.

The young girl who greeted me was very sweet and asked me if I needed anything.

I said, “Yes, please don’t vote for Obama. He’s very dangerous.”

She smiled and said, “We’ll, we all have our opinions.”

I agreed and then went on to tell her about Obama and Odinga and their relationship and the killings of Christians in Kenya.

She looked alarm and said, “Really? I didn’t know that.” The smug look was off her face.

That’s when you know that you’ve planted the necessary seed of doubt in someone.

I told her to go and check it out herself and wrote down Obama and Odinga and gave her my cell phone number if she has any questions. She thanked me - sincerely.

Puh-lease. They need to stop with the koolaid sipping. No one is staying home. No oine is changing their allegiance at the last minute. Anyone worth a damn who knows not to vote for Obama is not going to change their mind because of the nonsense coming out of CBS.

Comment by Rocky Mountain High | 2008-10-14 18:59:52

Here’s the deal with polls: Many say one thing and actually vote another. Those who are polled (nobody’s ever asked me or anyone in my household) get called on their land line. Most people these days use cell phones, which pollsters can not call, or shouldn’t because of solicitation rules. So that leaves out more than 1/2 of us. Secondly, there’s the Bradley effect, people who dare not tell a pollster that they have no problem voting for a Black guy, when it comes down to the secret voting booth, they can’t. Thirdly, the polls are being used as a manipulation to affect the final outcome. Seeing Obama ahead scares many conservatives and Independents so they make sure they will get out to vote on Election Day. [reverse psychology] However, to the liberals, and the newly registered and youth vote, they think, Obama’s already bagged it, so no big deal if I can’t make it to the polls on Election Day, especially if the weather is bad, so they give it up before crossing the finish line. [more reverse psychology] The final outcome? McPalin Wins!

49 to 43.

Cspan seems to be pretty even keeled when reporting this election season, more so then any other that I have found, although their map seems weird. The electoral vote “spread” seems to be the equivalent as kerry had on 2004, but the map has most of Arizona as blue. We don’t get stats here to often but last I heard the state was at +21% for McCain.

this is sad…beating old people in the head over a vote….it brought a tear to my eye.

Poll workers clash at Falls nursing home

George Manos, the 75-year-old Republican, told police that Edith Walker, the 73-year-old Democrat, jumped on his back and struck him in the head three to four times with her fists. Manos said two other elections workers had to pull Walker off his back, according to a report filed with Cuyahoga Falls police.

Manos said it happened after he accused Walker of ballot tampering, and he wants to prosecute.

The incident, which occurred about noon at Gardens of Western Reserve nursing home, is being investigated by both the police and the Summit County elections board. The board probe could lead to a closer examination of the other votes with which Walker was involved.

Comment by Peggy Sue | 2008-10-14 19:33:21

Well, don’t feel too bad. My father beat a guy over the head [with the man's own cane] because he insisted the other man was occupying the wrong room, his room.

Emotions can run wild in nursing homes and reason is not necessarily the rule of the day.

Want to Wipe Out All Of ACORN’s Fraud? Time For The Purple Finger Act of 2008

The justified hue and cry over ACORN’s trying to steal this election can really be solved with a quick and clean piece of legislation that could be passed tomorrow. Require all voters on election day to dip their finger in the purple dye that the Iraqis have used since their fledgling democracy started a couple of years ago.

I do not care about polls. Not at all. They are an extension of the media and are the books are being cooked to discourage poeple. Just like with clinton.
The last 3 weeks of this race should be done without the news or polls. IGNORE THEM ALL.
I have not looked at a poll since the market collapse. Ya know why? Because all season the media said a bad economy helps obama. Well, sure as shit once it hit the fan every poll played right into that narrative. Oh look a bad economy and WOW obama surges its over.

I might have missed the Fox News report where Obama was up by 14 points in a recent poll. I did see where they reported on the Rasmussen poll which had Obama up by 5 points and the Zogby poll which had him up by 4 points. The Fox news poll only had him up by 7 points. Don’t let these Obama trolls get you down. With a solid AA vote, an anti AA vote, an anti gender vote and the PUMA vote, no poll can be anywhere near what is going in this election. I live in an urban center and I don’t dare mention it to some of my neighbors. Throw in a little Bradley-Wilder effect and you have one more issue to scramble the results.

Comment by Hillary or Bust | 2008-10-14 18:59:24

I have to wonder sometimes if someone behind the scenes isn’t trying to stir up civil unrest for some reason with these polls.

I find it hard to believe that Obama would be up by 14% much less 5%. I think the race is probably much closer than the polls say. Not because I’m convinced McCain will win (I’m not) but because I simply know Americans and most are not going to overwhelmingly support some unknown liberal guy with a shady past over the safer choice of John McCain.

And I’m going to be very blunt and pragmatic here - I’m a liberal, urban person who has even dated a Pakistani guy once but just the name “Obama” is weird enough that I simply cannot even imagine that name coming after the term “President.” I just don’t see middle America voting for a guy named “Obama” with Islamic ties this close after 9/11. Even open-minded people have to feel somewhat strange about it in the backs of their minds.

The far left Obamabots are simply not enough of the population, neither are African-Americans, to give Obama such a lead.

Hispanics, I bet, will go McCain. Where is there a 14 pt lead? I think it’s non-existent.

So if Obama loses, these polls are ensuring there will be riots and civil unrest.

Who would benefit from such unrest? Is someone purposefully trying to destroy our inner cities?

Because that seems to me what these polls are about.

Comment by lisa in va | 2008-10-14 19:09:50

The majority of polls have little revelance. 2000 and 2004 ring a bell?? Showed Gore and Kerry both ahead by sizeable margins and we all know what happened to them. Honestly I don’t know why anyone would give a second of attention to something that is being taken by the liberal lot and then the results skewed.

As for Lou Dobbs, I respect him. He tells it like it is. Yes he discusses issues of concern. What news show doesn’t? They all do

Comment by Katy | 2008-10-14 19:12:25

Also, there is the thing about all surogates telling on TV that if Obama is leading in the polls and he doesn’t win there will be riots. They have to finish on top in the polls so that they have an excuse to riot.

Didn’t they exagurate amount of democrats registred and always pressed this issue when McCain was leading.

Media was never shouting when McCain was leading but rather used to say that it is not accurate and that pollsters have not accounted people with mobile.

Who knows how they are sampling so I would ignore polls, full stop.

This I know. In tomorrows debate Obama will have about 15 new tax cuts and another 15 expanded programs. He will also have drilling, nuclear, wind, solar, etc. His health care initiative has four or five angles. He could be made to defend several relationships with former associates. He will also need to defend against ACORN associations. He may have to defend his Iraq and Afghanistan policies and his proposed invasion of Pakistan.

McCain needs to be on the attack all of the time and forget about presenting his own agenda. He should defend only his health care plan and explain it well. He should make Obama explain his 15 tax cuts, his 15 expanded programs, his relationships with Ayers, Wright, Odinga, etc. If McCain does not expose Obama for all the excesses in policies and radicalism, then he will loose the debate and loose the election.

If he wants to play the statesman, and concentrate on presenting a contrast between him and Obama, he will loose. McCain cannot win by comparing himself or his plans to Obama’s. He can only win by mocking, ridiculing and deriding Obama for all the excesses of his campaign. That’s the only way McCain can win. Make Obama pay for each and every addition to his first speech in August 2007.

You know, I kinda like the polls that are showing Barry way ahead. What better way to get the conservative base out to the polls on Nov. 4. These are very motivated voters and McCain has sent the signal through Palin that their issues are safe in hand.

Sure some fear this means it is suppressing the vote, but I think if any voters are suppressed its going to be the D’s. Many of their base will think it’s locked up and will see no need to go out and vote.

As for the R’s they will be out in full force to prove the polls wrong.

These things cannot be disputed and it really shakes them up. I know it chills me down to the bone.

I am going to help with Palin’s visit to NH tomorrow…I am taking my 9 year old daughter with me…I was asked to help due to my time in over at the phone bank.

My son spent Monday at Mac central with me, he says the doughnuts are great!

I will send the regards of you all here, and let her know we respect what she is doing for woman in this country. NO QUARTER ROCKS!

Will it be 24 more years before a woman has the guts to run again???

Barry has always been top down control and has shown that repeatedly. And as a matter of fact, he shoved his d!ck in his supporters face and they still want to claim it was a candle of hope.

He took over that Face Book account and booted the creator of it. He sends out messages to his stools, I mean “Ambassadors” (makes them feel special) to his orders. Every flip flop he made, the mindless would freak over it and then ad “but we’re still supporting you (with blinking eyes of adoration-and no brain cells).

In their disappointment, no other Democrat to choose from, they started claiming these laughable phrases “we’ll just hold his feet to the fire”. Why, when it counts and has the best chance of working, he’s flipped them off. Then the final piece, when Backtrack Barry flips on FISA. That was the maximum for his supporters and they decided to try this claim of his that “the voters will make the change”………(sorry, still laughing)…..OK….uckm…..so they said “we’ll hold Barry’s feet to the fire and ask him by the numbers to switch back on his original stance on FISA”.

…da da….”Maybe you’ll agree with me on the other 90 percent of my decisions”.

Don’t you wonder how many have a sore jaw after that one?

The polls and the threat of riots were used in the primaries, Everyone knows that, this is the GE and it will not work. This is an insidious evil that everyone must not spread by being afraid–the only thing that matters is to vote against it in November. Sarah Palin and McCain may be imperfect but they pray and they sing the national anthem at their rallies and this is the only thing that will defeat evil–keep the faith. BO and his handlers want to craete despair, that is what is so evil about his campaign that they used the virtue of hope to influence people and then spread hatred, fear and terror.

Comment by Hillary or Bust | 2008-10-14 19:48:05

Look, I live in Los Angeles. I am totally afraid of riots. I am staying close to home on November 4, definitely not traveling outside my neighborhood Tuesday evening, and stocking up provisions beforehand with a plan to lay low on the 5th just in case. That is certainly not going to change my vote, however! I am going to the polls on Nov 4 and pulling the lever for McCain!

Comment by Alice Paul WPB | 2008-10-14 19:57:18

To many people I speak with are voting BO. I spoke with my UPS man today. We’ve known each other for years and always agreed on politics. He saw my bumper stickers and said I see you’ve gone to the dark side (meaning I was for McCain). We had a civil discussion and I mentioned about all his friends. He kept making excuses and said he really didn’t know Ayers very well and Annenburg is a Republican org. anyhow. He also said the country is going Socialist anyway! I can’t believe these people?

Reminds me of this:

Then the eyes of those who see will not be blinded,
And the ears of those who hear will listen.
The mind of the hasty will discern the truth,
And the tongue of the stammerers will hasten to speak clearly.
No longer will the fool be called noble,
Or the rogue be spoken of as generous.
For a fool speaks nonsense.

Comment by AF catfish | 2008-10-14 20:40:04

Alice you have to keep being vocal about it. All my friends are voting O or so they say, but they know how rabid I was about being a Democrat and if they know I’m voting McCain, maybe they’ll ask themselves why. It plants a seed. Weeks after they’ll ask - is it foreign policy? It gets their mind cranking.

Back in March of this year I heard Oliver North say something; just a little something, but enough that I was able to Google it. I can’t recall which news channel it was, but the commentator very rudely cut him off when he tried to talk about what was in the computer files he’d read from the computers that were captured from the FARC (Revolutionary Armed Forces Of Columbia) during a raid in Ecuador by Columbian commandos and National Police. I’ve shared this on a couple of blogs in recent months, and did receive some positive feedback, but nothing compared to how important I think this is. Every day I read political news blogs, and with every article I read the thought of these computer files are right there with me. I just can’t shake it. As much as I would love to see a McCain/Palin White House, I just can’t help but to think that there may be some real substance in North’s message. Anyway, please don’t shoot the messenger; read it for yourself. I’d really like to know your thoughts on this. Peace

A Despot’s Distraction

Excerpt:
Having now seen some of these files, there is much to substantiate serious concern in Venezuela — and elsewhere — about what Mr. Chavez and his friends in the FARC have been up to. The captured computers provide details of long-term financial connections between Mr. Chavez and the FARC leadership; records of drug transactions connections; and conversations with American emissaries who assure that “Obama will be the next U.S. president.” There is even a reference to FARC obtaining 50 kilograms of radioactive material.

Comment by Lurker | 2008-10-14 20:32:39

Yes, McCain did go to Columbia, and of course the loony toons at MSNBC said that it was a ploy to help his campaign.
Yeah Right! Blah…blah…blah

And, I doubt very seriously that John McCain conspired with emissaries to ensure that Obama is the next POTUS.

Clinton Supporters Aid Palin
By Michael Luo

Gov. Sarah Palin met with a group of Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton’s former supporters Tuesday evening at a special fund-raising reception organized for them on behalf of the Republican ticket.

The reception, which organizers said brought in more than $500,000, was part of an extended evening of fund-raising for Ms. Palin and Senator John McCain’s presidential campaign at the Grand Hyatt in New York that officials estimated raised more than $8 million.

Ms. Palin, along with her husband, Todd, mingled and posed for pictures with the group of about 20, before appearing at the larger finance event, which McCain campaign officials said was the last time Mr. McCain would personally appear at a fund-raiser before the election. It was also the first time the pair had appeared together for donors.

More than 1,000 people paid $1,000 each for tickets to the main fund-raiser. Nearly 250 people who contributed $25,000 got dinner beforehand with Mr. McCain.

The reception for former Clinton supporters, which also was attended by Rick Davis, the McCain campaign manager, was spearheaded by Lady Lynn Forester de Rothschild, a former telecommunications entrepreneur and “Hillraiser” who brought in more than $100,000 for Mrs. Clinton’s campaign; Calvin Fayard, also a former Hillraiser and longtime Democratic donor from Louisiana, and Miguel Lausell, a former senior political adviser to the Clinton campaign from Puerto Rico.

Other prominent former Clinton supporters in attendance included John Coale, a former Hillraiser, Washington lawyer and husband of Fox News television host Greta Van Susteren.

Everyone at the reception contributed $28,500 to McCain-Palin Victory 2008, a joint fund-raising committee for the Republican National Committee and several state Republican parties.

While Mrs. Clinton has implored her former supporters to back Senator Barack Obama, some still harbor ill will towards him, organizers said.

These people want to give their vote of disapproval,” said Mr. Lausell. “This is a way they’re doing it.

I’m not sure why anyone would be opposed to the fairness doctrine. That policy prevented propaganda and punditry. It disturbs me to see people who dislike Obama going so far overboard to criticize him that they are getting stupid about what is actually good for the country and our society. The fairness doctrine might shut down people like Rush Limbaugh, but it would also put MSNBC out of buisness.

Comment by Shiloh | 2008-10-14 20:21:36

I think media products, and that’s what it all is, should rise or fall because we as consumers vote for it or against it with our eyes and ears. There may have been some purpose for the fairness doctrine back when people only got a few tv stations and a few radio stations. Today every media message imaginable is readily available and we don’t need the government making sure we are exposed to it in the ratios they deem best.

This is breaking news: In yet another Orwellian move by the Obamites, Tracy, over at “No Compromise when it Comes to Being Right” was shut down by blogtalkradio tonight when she was interviewing Phil Berg about the lawsuit against Barack Obama! Here is her post:

Phil Berg is my guest today on No Compromise Radio:

I scheduled a show with Attorney Phil Berg who has filed a lawsuit against Barack Obama for not being a US Citizen therefore he is an illegal alien.

My show was terminated at the beginning of the show. Why? The BTR assistant Director of Customer Relations, Shannon Dingee-Kramer stated that my show was, “racially or ethnically offensive, defamatory, unreasonably violent, threatening, intimidating or harassing; 2. contains falsehoods or misrepresentations that could damage BlogTalkRadio or any other person; (BTR red emphasis–not mine!)

In other words, those who claim to be for free speech are afraid of it when they see it, or hear it in this case! It might offend someone and that’s far more important to protect than the American Principle of exercising the flow of speech in the arena of public ideas.

So I am officially off the air until further notice thanks to the Obamunists and Islamists who support him!

What’s fair about this?

Comment by NoBamaNoWay | 2008-10-15 03:16:28

it’s pretty clear that the obamanazis have no respect whatsoever for the Bill of Rights. it’s win at all costs, ends justify the means, etc.

Comment by Gal from Tex | 2008-10-14 20:27:17

Because it infringes on our right to freedom of speech. Just because someone doesn’t like another’s views is no reason to shut them down. Just turn the channel or switch the station if the political view offends you.

And who determines what is propaganda and punditry? Nancy Pelosi and her merry gang? So say goodbye to free speech.

Comment by Linda | 2008-10-14 20:51:07

Well, I know Thom Hartmann has said numerous times he doesn’t want the fairness doctrine, because he doesn’t want to have to give equal time or be told what he has to say.

And A A R is the perfect example of that. I’ll never listen to them again. I don’t care WHAT they do. They claimed and complained about inaccuracy by the right on the airwaves and they did the same thing to even fellow Democrats, the former first lady and SENATOR OF NEW YORK, to push their own agenda.

Yes, the liberals on the air used the fairness doctrine as another fear card that they have no intention of putting back either.

I will save $1800 compared to McCain’s $645. Maybe you will be different:

I couldn’t find McCain’s calc, but maybe someone can post a link here if they have one.

Doug

Comment by Docelder | 2008-10-14 20:27:28

Provided you can take Obama at his word… provided he can control Pelosi… which I highly doubt… and provided you still have a job at all after we get done raising taxes on the small business engine.

Comment by ohio | 2008-10-14 20:28:29

Sorry Doug, but I already save $1500 under the Bush tax cuts, so when they expire, I will lose that. Plus, my small business that I work for has already said they will be out of business should Obama win, so tell Obama, thanks but no thanks.

Comment by doug | 2008-10-14 20:50:36

why would they go out of business?

“Barack Obama and Joe Biden will eliminate all capital gains taxes on start-up and small businesses to encourage innovation and job creation. Obama and Biden will also support small business owners by providing a $500 “Making Work Pay” tax credit to almost every worker in America. Self-employed small business owners pay both the employee and the employer side of the payroll tax, and this measure will reduce the burdens of this double taxation.”

$500 tax credit for every small business employee is pretty substantial. You may want to ask your employer why they feel that way. What is McCain doing for small businesses?

Also, your $1500 isn’t going away. Did you use the calc?

Comment by doug | 2008-10-14 21:03:02

listen, for me FISA was a big no-no on Obama and I hope things change. But if you main concern is flip-flopping and not keeping his word, McCain has amassed a list of 76 flip-flops. You can check them out here:

http://www.thecarpetbaggerreport.com/flipflops

McCain thought Bush’s warrantless-wiretap program circumvented the law; now he believes the opposite

Comment by Visiting Supporter | 2008-10-14 20:44:28

Thanks for letting me know that at worst I’ll be giving up $500 with McCain in the White House.

No kids or other dependents. Under 65. Finished college 20 years ago. Single, living alone, so am not head of household. No mortgage because I rent. However, I do save for retirement, so I should get the “50% tax credit for up to $1000 retirement savings” $500 if it applies to 401-K contributions. If I don’t check the “save for retirement” box, it’s $0 vs. $0. Single renters, the forgotten constituency (you’ll find us around the same area as women on Obama’s priority list and around non-working but able-bodied men on McCain’s).

Umm, whooopie? Thanks, I’d rather have the smaller government espoused by McCain/Palin, which at least won’t use my ridiculously high taxes to make a better life for those who lack the will to make it through school, the desire to work, the proper attitude to hold a job, etc.

And given that hideous new info about 4% of each mortgage (is that in total amount mortgaged? total amount of payments required? or 4% of closing costs?) going to ACORN for more wealth redistribution, it’s likely to be a while before I’ll consider acquiring a mortgage.

Comment by doug | 2008-10-14 21:09:19

so your’s is $1111 Obama vs $0 McCain.

If you are willing to make that $1111 donation to the US Government under McCain, that’s your prerogative.

Thank you for taking the time to write. The odds are about 200,000 to 1 against any individual being polled for a typical national survey. Then the most important aspect of conducting a statistically reliable public opinion poll is that the respondents must be randomly selected. Therefore, it is impossible to sign up for our polls. Actually, middle class americans would get over $4000 more under McCain than Obama.
Mccain does not play class warfare though so i guess poeple do not know this.
You will save more under McCain as a middle class citizen and Company’s will be able to create more jobs with much lower taxes.
McCain does not want to “spread the wealth around”
He wants everyone to have a shot at being wealthy.
Obama wants you to be dependant upon him.

Obama is giving a a check to 10’s of millions of americans that do not even pay income tax.

Obama’s plan is not better.
It also should not MATTER how much a person gets from the government. The government should get out of th entitlement business and welfare handouts.

Back then the media were saying Jeremiah Wright wasn’t a factor in the primary but would be in the general. John McCain doesn’t have to bring up the Wright issue, it’s the bell that’s been rung. I hope this does not come across as a lecture but it needs to be said:

I’ve noticed some comments alluding to riots, get your guns ready, etc. Some of this talk borders into the tin-foil hat paranoia arena. My point is the Obama campaign started this nonsense talk and apparently people are buying into it. The purpose of the riot threats is to spread fear and intimidate. Please do not spread fear and intimidation by propagating this madness! If you want to quietly prepare for civil unrest I understand but don’t make this into a self-fulfilling prophecy. I’m sure the feds know who any riot organizers are if they exist and have them on short leaches ready to yank them in if the need arises.

There has been an influx of poll trolls and inevitability trolls. Please do not feed them. They only seek to distract and lower troop morale. Polls are being used against us as weapons to thwart participation in the Democratic process. It does not matter what the polls say even if they are accurate, while I do not believe they are accurate anyway. Keep fighting for what you believe in! You will never have any regret this way.

Lets get on with the work of electing John McCain so we can stop this evil man from Chicago and his cronies!

Comment by kavala007 | 2008-10-14 21:28:13

I agree. If the New York Times, The Washington Post, or the polls say anything I do not believe it. We, sadly, no longer have a free press. Remember this is the same press that took PR handouts on Iraq from the government and printed it as news. Also it was the NYT who finally forced Jayson Blair to resign (May 2003) after he was caught plagiarizing and fabricating elements of his stories. Newspapers and the MSM have become media groupies and are lazy. Then again, maybe they have always been that way and we did not notice.

Election history shows us how frequently the MSM and polls are wrong. From Truman vs. Dewey to Kerry vs Bush they have gotten it wrong. History buffs will remember that a Chicago newspaper even announced that Dewey had won the election and guess what Truman won. Ignore all the attempts to discourage your voting. The only thing that counts is casting your vote on election day. So let us stay focused and caste our vote and elect McCain/Palin.

We need to take a page from the Obama playbook. Talk to people (no, not argue), get out there and make truth known, don’t give up fighting for every vote. There is no way we should lay down, die and give up. That’s exactly what Obama is hoping for.

OK, this is probably the most disturbing Children’s Parade for Obama video yet. Is this a typical street in America? It’s like a scene from a sci-fi or horror movie:

Obama Youth? Is he planning for 1000 years of rule or something? Has anyone ever seen youth organized politically like this? In America that is! Kids are not mature enough to form opinions on who should be our leaders. This is disgusting!

That is some whacked out scary shit! More fuel for the center to swing GOP this election cycle. ACORN has no chance to overcome our outrage!

This was done intentionally ask it was deemed “hate speech” according to Nocturnal Warrior.

How about that?

We need a serious TIME OUT.

We need to stop and ask the voters of this country what it is they REALLY want. Do they want “change” no matter what? Change from what? From paralysis in Washington? Self-interest before Country?

Okay.

I can buy that. Totally understandable. Washington’s a mess.

But…..

Something everyone needs to stop and think about, pull back and look at very long and hard. If you want to cure a disease, shouldn’t you attack the cause?

If you treat something that isn’t causing what you’re trying to cure, and if you take the wrong medicine, without reading the warning label, you’re more likely to make things worse, not better. Don’t you think?

We’re essentially, as a nation (depending on who’s doing the math and whether or not you include Social Security), bankrupt. We owe far more than we can reasonably pay back before our grandchildren have grandchildren, even if we started today. We’re UNDER WATER as a nation, financially.

So, the solution is to throw gasoline on the fire?

We look to Barack Obama, of all the most unlikely people, to save our economy? Based on what? His background? Experience? Demonstrated expertise in economics? His plan? What is his plan? Have you read the label? All of it?

You don’t stop a patient from bleeding by slicing off another arm or opening an artery! You don’t cure a deficit by printing (borrowing — somebody has to buy the bonds) more money. You don’t INCREASE the value of your currency by printing more mountains of it. Ask Brazil. As the Roman Empire.

Barack Obama’s version of “voodoo economics” — pouring money into social programs and expanding a non-earning welfare state (having the government spend itself out of bankruptcy(?)) while taxing small business, medium business, large business and every possible investment dollar you can get your hands on, to squeeze capital out of the economy and mail it out to people who are basically sitting on the porch waiting for the mail?

This is economics? It’s actually insanity. Running into the wall twice as fast this time, thinking it will hurt less? I’m not even sure there is an economic definition that fits this excuse for a plan.

I’d assume it’s at least supposed to be socialist, which is Barack Obama’s background and the root of all his past endeavors (endeavors, not accomplishments, of which he has, literally, none).

But, that’s not the biggest problem. I don’t think we’re all longing for a socialist nation. But, even if we were, even brilliant socialists have to have some wealth to re-distribute. How do you squeeze the life out of your economy and, at the same time, find another TRILLION dollars (or so) of spending to toss onto the creaking cart of the American economy? That is a feat no economist has ever imagined, even while stoned in the 60’s, much less endorsed.

Is nobody aware that 100 leading economists, including Nobel winners, have signed a statement that Barack Obama’s economic fairy tale is essentially nuts? Do supporters of “Our Man at Any Cost to Our Nation” really want us to turn into a South American mess with 50% inflation rates? Do they really want their savings, already cut in half, to evaporate altogether?

I’ve talked to people who believe we’re still on the gold standard. And when I explain that we aren’t on any standard, that our currency is tied to nothing at all, they nod as if they understand that and say it’s probably okay, we can’t just print money. After all, there’s the Federal Reserve and all those people. I’m not kidding. And some of these people are planning to (or were before I talked to them) vote for Obama because they had “heard” somewhere (on CNN most likely) that he was “supposed” to be better for the economy. As Hillary once said, “Get serious.”

Even Alice would not believe this version of Wonderland. Do people have the foggiest notion of what they’re buying into?

I have a message for these folks. This is a capitalist country. Without capitalism, we don’t exist. And, without capital, there is no capitalism.

Is that simple enough? Printing money and handing it out does not create capital. It does not employ people. It does not create “opportunity” to earn, as opposed to “opportunity” to get a check in the mail. Nothing will drive investment and growth other than the pursuit of opportunity. You can’t “buy” a productive economy with government play money, which is what our currency is fast becoming.

But, that is what this “good for the economy” voodoo candidate — this “stealth” candidate who won’t even tell you what COURSES he studied in college, what his senior thesis was about, where he lived, or the name of a single college friend — is all about. If you listen. In the rare moments when he stands still long enough to take a stand that lasts longer than 24 hours, that’s what he’s saying.

But, to hear him, you have to actually listen.

I know there are people being interviewed on the street who think Governor Sarah Palin is Obama’s VP candidate and believe he’s Pro-Life and wants to stay in Iraq. But all of his supporters can’t possibly be that ignorant of the issues and what he stands for.

Even though he changes positions daily, he’s consistently calling for handouts to non-taxpayers, and tax credits for everything under the sun, while doubling taxes on actual investment and small businesses and any rich people who haven’t moved to Switzerland already.

There is a fundamental misunderstanding driving all of this. It’s a colossal mistake. And I can’t believe it’s intentional, as much as I’d like to paint all the “that ones” as evil. They’re not. I don’t believe that. I used to be over there on that side of the aisle. But, they are caught up in some kind of rapture that is clouding their thinking.

Here’s the mistake, conceptually.

Let’s call it the “Pendulum Theory” for sake of illustration. Put a pendulum on any upright, stationary object. A stick in the ground, if that’s simple enough. Attach a pendulum to the top of it.

Swing it back and forth.

Trust me, stability does NOT lie at the opposite extremes of the pendulum. It lies in the middle.

To take out your frustration at one end of the pendulum by swinging it as far as you can in the other direction is not the way to do anything other than topple the stick. That stick is the United States.

People are angry. Rightfully so.

About the economy. Okay. Should be about a lot of things — this Congress hasn’t seen the sunshine in a long time (meaning their head has been somewhere very dark), with regard to a lot of issues, not solely the economy. The “leadership” of the majority party has spent most of its time with its tongue out, playing nah nah nah nah boo boo with the President and making the Keystone Cops look like a well-oiled law enforcement machine.

They should all take jobs during hunting season as bird dogs because all they’ve really become good at is “pointing.”

But to turn into an angry mob and invite the extreme left wing of the (formerly) Democrat Party to come in and throw a toga party with the treasury, to take from the rich (actually not just the rich, but that’s what they tell you) and hand it to the less rich, to swing the pendulum past the other extreme, to shatter the meaning of extreme, is hardly the answer.

Where has the nation prospered? In the middle.

Bill Clinton came out of the Democratic Leadership Council, specifically dedicated to moving the Democrat Party back toward the center of the country. Like him or don’t, we were paying our bills.

John McCain has been hampered, within his own party, because he’s considered too far to the center for the conservative wing of the GOP. Governor Palin has helped smooth out that intra-party dynamic and, together, they make a balanced team. But, John McCain is not a right-wing ideologue. And he’s proved it over and over for over 25 years.

Do we really want to let our anger and our spite and our vitriol lead us to swing the political pendulum so hard that it snaps off and we all have to learn Chinese (who do you think owns our paper)?

If Barack Obama and his band of cronies actually ran under the banner of the Social Democrat Party, or the New Socialist Party, or the Social Progressives Party, or the Independent Workers Party or, to be more precise, the ASP (the “American Socialist Party”), would the masses still be whipping themselves into a frenzy and writing children’s marching songs to his glory?

Because that’s what this movement is, if you look behind the curtain, without the title.

The Democrat Party is not the party of the DLC any longer, if it ever was. It was handed over to Howard “Screaming” Dean, I suppose because people thought he knew about the Internet and would bring the moveon.org money tree with him. What they forgot was, he was also bringing himself with him. Again, know what you’re buying.

The Democrat Party is no longer a party of Democrats. It has become the party of thugs. Left wing storm troopers. And, with the aid of the compliant media wanna-be intelligentsia (in the process making a lie of the term itself), it has become the party of radical extremism fueled by self-aggrandizing delusion.

It is the party of kids who jump up and down at a rally and can’t tell you what Roe v. Wade is though their leaders throw it in the face of any female who might consider voting for the other side; the party of Donna Brazile, who doesn’t think gays or lesbian discrimination is really serious, reserving discrimination for only blacks, so Whoopie Goldberg won’t be in fear of being made a slave by John McCain; the party that thinks it’s just fine to call the opposing Vice Presidential nominee, the most popular Governor in America, a C*** with a giggle and a snicker; the party of ranting Black Liberation or Black Nationalist theology, depending on who’s talking about it (Obama in his post Million Man March remarks used Black Nationalism but we’re not allowed to mention anything he’s ever said because he’s not required to mean what he says or say what he means); the party of “in your face” street politics, intimidating voters, overrunning caucuses to get the most votes, no matter who the public might actually favor; the party to discard the National Anthem, to find a new flag that other people in unfriendly nations will find less offensive to them; the party that will stop being so darn difficult and sit down for a fireside chat with extremists (who are gathering forces and developing nuclear weapons to wipe their enemies from the face of the earth) so they can tell us what we can do to make them happy and make them like us again (hint: they never liked us); the party that thinks reaching across the aisle means keeping a knife in the other hand, in case of an opening (remember the Clinton primary, Obama’s comment about Chicago politics and Hillary Clinton — “If they bring knives, we’ll bring guns?”).

This is not what’s in the big, pretty ad with the smiling people and the uplifting music. This is what’s in the not-so-fine print. This is what you’re buying. And, when the election’s over and you get the pretty package home and open it up, don’t be surprised if it contains a Chinese dictionary and an envelope telling you where to send your “patriotic contribution” to the “freedom payments” going to your fellow citizens, along with a sign up card for your child’s Summer at Patriot Camp.

Dissent is a material element of any democracy. Democracy fails without dissent.

I hope all of those who have supported and intend to support Obama understand that Obama does not believe in nor does he advocate democratic ideals. His plans lie in an altogether different (dishonorable) arena.

Too bad Obama misled so many people into believing that he stood for all things democratic. Obama knew he could not win if he told the truth so he lied to everyone & stole money from those that blindly believed all his millions of false promises.

Why would so many people opt to “believe” in Obama while, at the same time, fail to scrutinize this virtual nobody by asking pertinent questions? I find this extremely difficult to believe.

And now we suddenly hear CNN talking about ACORN and actually linking Obama to ACORN. They wouldn’t be doing this unless they knew that all the help they gave to Obama over the past year (as in “obstructing” the truth & “skewing” the polls) actually worked.

What a joke all of this is! Just wait until all of Obama’s supporters figure out that they actually screwed themselves when they decided to “stand by their man.”

Who knows? Maybe all of those skewed polls will end up working to our favor & to the detriment of Obama!

Ahem! Then the joke would be on Obama, wouldn’t it?

I happened upon this site while reading blogs elsewhere. Let me preface my comment by saying I consider myself a resonable conservative, and have voted Republican in recent years. The comments on this site have assuaged some of my fears about the extreme left leanings of the Democratic party, as I had come to believe there were no conservative or moderate Democrats left.

I would not be in favor of seeing the pendulum swing too far right, and I don’t believe there has been much chance of that in recent years, or anytime in the near future. I have great trepidition about the upcoming election, and I agree with your blogger who fears the the pendulum may swing too far to come back.

At this time in our history, reasonable Democrats and independants will have to be the force that keeps America between the lines, as the Republicans have been “neutered”.

My hope is that this site represents more people like your bloggers than the media leads us to believe.

God bless you!! Hope that’s ok here.
