So, who’s winning?

Comment by Mandelay | 2008-10-15 20:49:23

Mac is showing his fighting spirit and it’s about time. He’s hitting hard and I think he’s rattling Obama’s cage. There’s goes Mac running a nasty, noisy hammer along the bars of Obama’s cool cage of indifference. Hammer away Mac … you are the only person left on the stage who can keep this country from splitting down the middle.

Mac is very, very strong tonight…he’s getting the flim-flam man on every point.

He hit him on the fact that nobama didn’t repudiate Congressman John Lewis comparing Mac and Sarah to George Wallace!

Comment by McAnnie Carmel Baracuda | 2008-10-15 20:32:39

Barry says I didn’t do it. It was Lewis, not me; it was Palin’s speech where they yelled at me.

Comment by SUGAR | 2008-10-15 20:32:40

Mccain is hot tonight! Obama looks smug and arrogant.

Sen McCain should bring up the Ayers connection… I’d love to see what BO could defend that w/o looking like the complete LIAR he is.

Comment by Judy L. NC | 2008-10-15 20:34:51

DID Lewis apologize? DID BO’s campaign denounce Lewis’s “george wallace’ comment?

There is no way in the world Palin could hear one person in the audiance. Soembody ask obama if he can every word every person says at one of his rallies.

The person at the rally yelled terrorist when Ayers was talked about, Kill him when Ayers was talked about NOT OBAMA! Obama is nothing but a liar. The NYT told the story wrong and the AP reported it that way but they were wrong. LIARS!

Comment by Texas Playwright | 2008-10-15 20:39:09

Thanks so much for those listening and commenting for those of us who literally get sick at the sound of BO’s voice. I had a visceral reaction the first time I heard him: snake oil salesman.
How Hillary won against this corrupt man, the corrupt DNC and the corrupt media is still amazing to me.

Comment by Alice Paul WPB | 2008-10-15 20:49:32

Unfortunately I heard the other day that Buffet does support him, go figure!

Comment by Jules | 2008-10-15 21:06:35

Buffett is filthy rich and he WANTS to pay more taxes. He says it’s not fair for him to pay a lower percentage that his secretary. The thing is that most of his income is from capital gains so it’s taxed at a lower rate. I volunteer him to make an extra donation of his money to the government, and leave the rest of us alone! Buffett is the only one who can financially survive an Obama presidency.

wow, when McCain brought up Ayers and ACORN Obama was laughing it off – disgusting

McCain missed a great opportunity: “It’s not funny Senator Obama, this is not a laughing matter”

Comment by snosandy | 2008-10-15 21:00:59

Remember how Obama laughed on all the talk shows he went on the day after the Rev Wright tapes surfaced for the first time? Same thing with Ayers and Acorn (and Rezko too) “I didn’t know……..”

If he doesn’t know about all these questionable associations he has, how the hell can he be trusted to run our country??!!

Comment by VinceP1974 | 2008-10-15 20:41:24

Barky always talks in generalities–he never says how he’s going to do everything, unlike Hillary. Hillary always would go into great detail about what plans she had. How did the DNC chose this Oblahblah! Darn!

I like Mac supporting Palin and stating very clearly what a sterling woman Palin is, how she fought corruption in her own party.

firstread.msnbc.msn.com/

Right now in real time msnobama has more positive mccain posts than they do obama posts. By tommorrow moring they will say this was obama’s Greatest Debate In The History Of The World. In real time right now msnobama’s first read is painting an ugly obama picture.

Comment by Jason | 2008-10-15 20:57:17

Can you believe Obama just said we can’t free trade with Columbia because their labor leaders have been targeted for assassination?

WHAT ABOUT THE FACT THAT OBAMA CAMPAIGNED FOR A MARXIST KENYAN THUG WHO INCITED HIS FOLLOWERS TO COMMIT GENOCIDE AND BURN WOMEN AND CHILDREN TO DEATH IN CHURCHES?

McCain missed a great opportunity there. Obama is making me SICK. There he goes with that dismissive smirk again. McCain needs to knock those big goofy teeth into the back of his throat. Metaphorically speaking of course.

Comment by xax | 2008-10-15 21:03:44

Mac showed emotion on the Lewis incident. It’s amazing that Obama got away with tagging Bill, HIllary, Gerry Ferraro and Mac and Sarah as racists. In a sick way it was a “great” strategy because it made it almost impossible for his opponents to criticize his disturbing associations. But Mac is firing like a machine gun. You gotta fight back like you don’t give a rat’s ass about possibly losing. Fight will all your might. Winning will follow1

Comment by clockworks9 | 2008-10-15 21:08:08

Obama’s line about the average health insurance policy being 12,000 is a lie. My husband and I both self pay for our policies and they are great policies through BCBS – but we are in the Health Insurance Risk Pool, which means we have conditions that BCBS doesn’t want to insure. My policy is $1468.00 per quarter and my husband’s is $1142.00 per quarter. We are both 40ish.

Comment by navyvet48 | 2008-10-15 21:27:46

There is a health insurance program available in some states with preconditions…that cost roughly $300 per month for a family. That adds up to $3600 per year…or $150 oer year for individuals … there are states though whose high risk insurance costs $1000 per month and $750 per month. BCBS isn’t available in all states!

At what point will they realize that the only thing they wanted was for Obama to explain Ayers live on television? McCains words “I dont care about a washed up terrorist” Game set…Check mate. Obama tied his self to a terrorist by explaining Ayers

Comment by Elle | 2008-10-15 21:08:21

As per usual..moderator never questions and interupts Obamas response but edges on McCain..
How Rude !

Obama just threatened us with Roe v Wade–said it would hang in the balance. Like he cares about women’s issues.

Comment by Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy | 2008-10-15 21:11:23

Holy crap – I wish I had been timing how long Obama gets to blather on, and how quickly Bob interrupts McCain. GRRRRRR.

Comment by xax | 2008-10-15 21:13:16

I mute the screen when he’s talking and I’ve been able to watch a full half hour show so far in this debate.

Comment by WasLNbutNoBamaBotsKeepStealingMyName | 2008-10-15 21:14:32

OMG! Mac is getting him on his votes to withhold medical care for a newborn victim of a botched murder abortion.

Comment by Carol | 2008-10-15 21:14:45

Here comes the Infanticide Bill. Yeah to John!

If it sounds incredible…., it’s it’s not true. BO is lying again!!!!

It’s above my pay grade!

Comment by Shez | 2008-10-15 21:14:58

Let’s make that ‘Senator Ogovernment’

Comment by AngryWhitePerson | 2008-10-15 21:15:25

Obama’s reasoning for voting against the ban on partial birth abortion makes little to NO SENSE! There was already a law, so uh uh uh, so why bother.

I am insulted by this entire Roe vs Wade conversation anyway.

Comment by joseph Hooper | 2008-10-15 21:16:11

He blathers on and on but never says anything. Good the Sen McCain is calling him on it!!

Comment by xax | 2008-10-15 21:16:14

Comment by Truthteller | 2008-10-15 21:16:39

Now would be the perfect moment to invoke Obama’s support of sex education for kindergartners.

Comment by Pepper | 2008-10-15 21:17:08

Comment by MomWhoCares4USA | 2008-10-15 21:17:28

If Obama really believed that partial-birth abortion is wrong, he would have voted “no” rather than the politically motivated vote of “Present.”

Personally, I think the only voice we should be hearing on the issue of abortion is Sarah Palin.

Comment by McAnnie Carmel Baracuda | 2008-10-15 21:17:31

If there was already a law then how was that Down Syndrome baby thrown into the closet alive?

Comment by Prem | 2008-10-15 21:17:58

I’ll give points to Oblahblah on the abortion issue. But, I still don’t trust anything he says. . . he lies so easily.

Comment by Thinker | 2008-10-15 21:18:13

OMG.

Obama just mentioned cavalier sexual activity and how we need education about it.

….Sinclair?

Where exactly was Obama on November 6 & November 6 199? Was he doing crack with Sinclair?

It’s another one of those issues that Obama could clear up so easily, just like the birth certificate.

Comment by Liberty Belle not for Obama | 2008-10-15 21:22:34

Ditto – Mr. Sinclair could attest to that.

Comment by Elle | 2008-10-15 21:18:41

Moderator completely unfair in time limits..BO can ramble on an on and interupt and it is acceptable..

Comment by Thinker | 2008-10-15 21:23:35

I noticed. McCains keeps getting cut off, and Obama is allowed to ramble on & on.

Comment by SUGAR | 2008-10-15 21:18:48

Bob Schieffer has disgraced his “legacy” tonight. He lets Hussein just ramble on and on, but keeps cutting Sidney off at the HIP! I’m so disappointed in him. The Hussein camp has neutered so many journalists with the threat of labeling them racists if they chastise him and it’s disgusting.

Comment by joseph Hooper | 2008-10-15 21:19:31

BO wants to spend on this and give more money to that and still cut taxes??? Where did he learn basic math???

Comment by Truthteller | 2008-10-15 21:20:19

Good. McCain mentioned that elite Democrats Michelle and Barack Obama send their children to private schoo.

Comment by Mandelay | 2008-10-15 21:20:28

Wow, sounds like Obama is trying to convince us he’s read Hillary’s “It takes a Village…” … or maybe the Cliff Notes? Well, here comes Bill Ayers as Secretary of Education … not.

Comment by Seattle Moss | 2008-10-15 21:20:30

McCain wins this debate!!

Obama is a smug lying ahole

Comment by LookingForwardTo2012 | 2008-10-15 21:20:45

Pepper, I agree. I have a friend who had a stroke. They have just retired. In NC her premiums would be $3,500.00/mo…they are moving to WV where the premiums will be $935.00/mo .Obama probably gets more attention with his concept and I’m afraid that might cost votes. So maybe JohnnyMac should drop the tax load on his plan and raise the amounts.

Comment by BettAZ@q.com | 2008-10-15 21:20:46

This was the best of the debates for McCain.

Soon to see: OBAMA WON 93 to 7!(CNN<NBC<MSNBC<ABC<CBS)

Comment by jyotinc | 2008-10-15 21:21:31

I think BO either forgot to take his fix or he took so much that his lines are out of context, he’s talking nonsense, all blah, blah, blah and same O. Good points McCain.

Comment by marie | 2008-10-15 21:21:44

obama made a dig on palin when he talked about teen pregnancy!

that was a clear dig on her not educating her daughter.

Comment by Jason | 2008-10-15 21:21:54

The subject is “education” and McCain is missing the IDEAL opportunity to bring up Obama’s work with Ayers in trying to radicalize Chicago schools instead of teaching kids marketable skills.

Mention the deplorable performance of Chicago schools! What is wrong with you! You’re on a roll – don’t let this one go…

Comment by Judy L. NC | 2008-10-15 21:21:55

I LOVED what Mac said about Cindy and him knowing the joy of adoption……hell, I’m ready to go out and adopt a kid myself…and I’m an OLD WIDDER WOMAN.

Comment by WasLNbutNoBamaBotsKeepStealingMyName | 2008-10-15 21:25:08

Let’s hear it for adoption…I adopted a 9 month old girl (from China ’cause the US told me I was too old!) when I was 44.

She is now 10…the light of my life.

Worst schools in America get the most money per student.

ABSOLUTELY TRUE!!!

Fine example in Baltimore.

Balt City gets a little more than Balt County and gives half the results

Obama now supports charter schools? Is he even a Democrat?

He is out of touch.

Comment by Illinois_gal | 2008-10-15 21:24:54

McCain missed a great opportunity to hammer the fact that Barky pays women less than he pays men for the same job. He should have brought it home!

Comment by Clara Barton | 2008-10-15 21:27:07

I was hoping he’d bring up the staff pay/ratio but he let that one go. Too much to challenge when you’re debating Zero.

My exact thought!

Comment by Truthteller | 2008-10-15 21:25:17

And why is elitist Democrat BArack Obama demonizing teachers’ unions? He is out of touch.

Let him keep talking. If he destroys his own base. That’s his problem.

I believe he said they gave $100k to Acorn.

MAC IS BACK!

Comment by PleaseNoObama | 2008-10-15 21:29:02

We need to be realistic. There’s so much wrong with BO, there’s just NOW WAY McCain can bring it all up, even all of the best stuff, in one debate (or 3).

For what McCain is bringing up, he’s doing GREAT!

Go Mac!

Comment by WasLNbutNoBamaBotsKeepStealingMyName | 2008-10-15 21:29:09

Closing remarks now by McCain…underlining his long record and his fiscal conservatism…asking people to vote for the person they can trust and bringing up his military service as well.

Comment by Mandelay | 2008-10-15 21:29:16

In a way, this was the only debate. The other two meetings, devoid of passion, were an endless spewing of talking points. This debate was a real conversation. Mac stuck his neck out on the issues and did not play it safe. He spoke in his own true voice … something he should have done earlier but doing it in this last debate was so important. Bravo Mac … you have my vote!

Comment by snosandy | 2008-10-15 21:29:58

McCain would be honored and humbled, Obama would be entitled.

Comment by Truthteller | 2008-10-15 21:30:14

McCain’s closing sounded very Presidential. And notice that Obama attacked the Clintons in his closing. He claimed decades of mismanagement in DC is responsible for the current economic crisis.

Comment by xax | 2008-10-15 21:30:24

And now that Obama is talking, I’m done watching. Good night all.

Comment by Jason | 2008-10-15 21:30:51

“The same failed policies of the last 8 years”

I can’t BELIEVE Hussien is using this line in his closing comment. Who is he talking about? Which candidate proposes the “same failed policies”?

LIES LIES LIES LIES LIES LIES
