acorn and obama – two frauds in a pod

I can not believe that tax dollars, hundreds of millions of tax dollars, hundreds of millions of non-partisan tax payer dollars, fund this group:

who have this agenda:

and hires and pays these people:

ACORN hires Child Rapist, Thieves and Drug Dealers

who sign up these people:

Obama supporters

Name one accomplishment

Obama supporters in Tampa, FL

ACORN Registers 13-year old to vote in NM

Sandra Bernhard (I am sure ACORN didn’t sign her up, but she supports Obama, and this is vile)

Mickey Mouse

to register to vote, for this guy:

Whom they have endorsed. And people need not wonder why:

Why is registering to vote so difficult? I, in the past, have appreciated when there is someone in front of my local supermarket, registering voters. It is quite handy, and easy. But, why are tax payers paying millions of dollars to a partisan group, that is, frankly, not even capable of the most basic of tasks. I just don’t understand why we registering to vote is SO hard, that we need ACORN.

And…how hard is it to ask people to register to vote? The employees of ACORN, it seems, can’t even be bothered to get off their butts and do the job they were hired to do. Get 10-15 registrants a day. Sure, you might have to canvass a few blocks, or sit out in front of a supermarket, but it isn’t that hard. I used to sell a LOT of Girl Scout cookies, by going door to door, and hanging out at markets. I managed it, and I was eight, and I was selling something. Registering to vote is free.

And who are these people that sign up chicken fast food restaurants and Mickey Mouse. If they have already registered, then don’t sign up again! Those fake forms are costing a fortune to verify! And if you haven’t registered, then we obviously are wasting dollars to try and convince these people to sign up, if they are using fake names and addresses. But to use tax payer dollars, to produce these results is startling.

CNN Hits ACORN For Bogus Voter Registrations

And these ACORN people that bribe people to register, even though they are told they have already registered (50 times), are turning honest citizens into frauds, and criminals.

Voter Fraud in Ohio – ACORN

ACORN Voter Fraud Witness

And now stories are surfacing about fraudulent voting actually taking place. People are using *safe houses* (abandoned homes) as their in state address, to obtain absentee ballots!

I understand the need to afford any American who wants to vote that right. But, I think we are sinking far too many tax dollars into a system that is dysfunctional, corrupt, partisan and self serving.
And, honestly, I don’t want those horrifically uninformed voters, voting. People who have not clue one about who is the running mate, or any clue as to any of their policies!

I have always accepted the outcome of a Presidential race, considering that the majority of the country thought that candidate to be the better. It gave me some sort of reassurance, that, well, even if I think my candidate is better, the majority of the country sees something in the candidate who won, the majority is the victor.

But, now, to have a president, who is potentially chosen by voters who have not a clue about anything the candidate stands for, to have a President who was chosen by massive voter fraud, that won the primary because of intimidation/caucus fraud, a skewed delegate disbursement, and an extremely biased liberal media is not right.

I was ticked off in 2000 and 2004, with the charges of voter fraud. But now, I see that the Democrats are no better, if not worse then the party they attacked in 2000.

I have seen, over the past year, the people who are supporting Obama, and the lengths they will go to to elect their *chosen one* and it is, frankly, quite frightening. The nastiness that I have seen, the attacks, the threats, the censorship, the intimidation, the signs, the videos, the t-shirts

And one of the worst things about this whole ACORN scandal is that it has a partisan agenda, and is funded by tax payer money. And I dislike the feel of voters being used, diven to the polls, and given a pack of smokes, or a cheeseburger, just to vote for ACORN’s *chosen one*.

Why can’t they just have people register at the post office (or library)? And if you live in the boonies, and you are elderly, or homebound, you can ask your postmaster to deliver your voter registration card to your mailbox. This way, it requires an ounce of effort, therefore, those who really are wanting to vote, will make this teeny tiny little bit of effort to register. And for those who are homeless can still pick up the card at the post office, and can use that address to register.

I would much rather the President of the United States be chosen by someone who is interested enough to make an ounce of effort to register. At least they are more likely to be somewhat informed.

ACORN registering all of these people does not prove they are even going to show up to vote. If people care so little about the process to even bother trying to sign people up, forge hundreds of signatures, bribe people to sign fake names, and shame on those who do sign fake names, then we do not need to be paying organizations like ACORN.

The Democratic party has been touting the increased new registrants over the past year, talking about how excited the base is, and, to me, insinuating that they are going to trounce the Republicans, because of all these new voters. Well…were they counting on the Mickey Mouse vote?

I do think there is an increase in new voters this year. I do think there are a lot of new voters, who are invigorated and excited about the election this year. I do think Obama has brought a lot of excitement, as did Hillary, and now McCain/Palin. But, I think all of those people would have registered on their own, without having to pay ACORN millions in tax payer dollars.

And, despite the facts that Obama gave them $833,000, defended ACORN in a lawsuit, partnered with William Ayers and the Woods Fund to distribute money to ACORN, attempted to lie on his *fight the smears* web site, which had to be changed when he was busted, and used to do community organizing with them…

Obama said:

“We’ve got the best voter registration, turnout, and volunteer operation in politics right and we don’t need ACORN’s help.”

So, let’s stop funding ACORN. And I think Obama and the Democrats need to explain why they included a multi-million dollar package for ACORN in the financial bailout, if we don’t need ACORN.

Captain Howdy,

Do you remember in August 2008, how the American team won the Olympic Gold medal in the 4 x 400M women’s relay race? American team was at the 2nd place until the last 2 seconds.

But you are indeed correct about it notbeing over.

My sentiments exactly. My family came here when I was a child. I have seen only goodness from people’s hearts in welcoming us. Sure, there were some rough patches but hell, we worked hard and are involved in our communities. It irks me to no end when the people who are complaining about America are the same ones who do nothing to make their lives and communities better.

Comment by Andrew191 | 2008-10-16 18:45:55

And yet, the Obomunists show no restraint when making Sarah the primary target for their ridicule. Ridicule is used to strip people of their dignity and standing. For now, nude paintings in sleezy bars, and disgusting T-shirts are serving that purpose. Sarah is not the only target, she represents a number of losely associated groups, (working mothers, pro-lifers, conservatives, women in politics, the bitter gun clinging bible thumping trailer dwellers, and so on)that have all become subjects of ridicule by the enlightened aristocricy that support the leader of the new master race, the supreme Obama.
Ridicule and the restriction of free speach is always the opening salvo when one class seeks to control then eliminate another. The next salvo will be a campaign that will attempt to de-humanize the inferior class. This removes any of the moral restraints that prevent people from doing harm to each other. Are you feeling Deja-vu.

I think the numbers of people who are not saying they are voting for McCain is sizeable and are being seriously underestimated.

Comment by Ann | 2008-10-16 17:45:01

I disrespected Hillary after the primary.

Obama and ACORN stole her victory and she knows about it. Now, she wants us to vote for Obama in the election.

She did not fight for herself. She did not fight for her 18 million voters. She did not fight against ACORN and the voting fraud. How can we expect her to fight for any good course? She betrayed her voters.

Great Post, lots of tubes!

Hey, I got a new voter for McCain today. Well it wasn’t me alone…McCain helped last night in the debate.

A neighbor who does not have the internet called me up and had some questions….She said before we were done talking….well you are telling me the same thing I have been hearing from others. She wanted to verify with someone else if what she was hearing was true.

She is going to just lie to her friends but she is voting McCain. She lost a life long friend awhile back over Obama. I told her that her vote is private and no one will know how she votes and if she wants her friend back just tell her what she wants to hear. Sad isn’t it?

She heard McCain talk about Ayers and ACORN last night, wondered who Joe the Plumber was, I told her to put on Fox and she could get caught up with what the others have not been telling her. She had no idea that the liberal media was not covering things on Obama.

One more for McCain/Palin!!!

30yrdem-not-any more,

While it may be sad the person that called you for an update will be required to wear a vail, what is a thing of grace is that she called you for your opinion.

What is a common feature of people not supporting BO, is an open critical thinking mind as to the facts.

You raise an interesting point, that in todays world the sources of information are moving away from the print media and toward the internet.

The fact that your friend does not have internet access is a barrier to being an informed voter, or at a minimum an obstacle.

Tommy Newberry, who writes a newsletter called the 1% Club, wrote an article today called The Michael Phelps Tax. Here is a brief excerpt from that email newsletter that I received today:

“Promising to punish, through higher taxes, those who’ve already excelled financially and succeeded (As many Americans would love to do) sends a mediocre message to the rest of the population. It is like taxing a gold medal winner in the Olympics. We could call it “The Phelps Tax.” Imagine, whoever wins the gold must have his or her medal melted down and redistributed to the second and third place finishers whose medals would then be redistributed to those who did not even place in the race. This would spread the wealth around a bit.

What do you think? The fact that Phelps had a clear goal, outworked his competition, and made maximum use of his God-given talent is immaterial. It simply isn’t fair that one athlete should succeed so greatly when so many other hard-working athletes have to return home with no medal at all. Olympic gold is best worn by Michael Phelps and money is best spent by the individual who earned it.”

Comment by Docelder | 2008-10-16 17:01:32

Add to that that if you already have won one medal… then you should sit out so that others may also win one. That’s fairness to BHMO.

Joe the plumber is the new “Palin”. The socialist fascist left hates anybody who doesn’t conform to their agenda… As Biden has said “get with the plan”. There should be billboards all across the country with his botoxed image… “get with the plan” and include one of those sunsets over an American flag… because BHMO and Biden know we and our sinful capitalist freedom loving ways are done for. It’s payback time… “get with the plan”.

Why THIS college student will NOT be voting for Obama…….this is a MUST READ!

A young woman was about to finish her first year of college. Like so many others her age, she considered herself to be a very liberal Democrat, and among other liberal ideals, was very much in favor of higher taxes to support more government programs, in other words redistribution of wealth. She was deeply ashamed that her father was a rather staunch Republican, a feeling she openly expressed.

Based on the lectures that she had participated in and the occasional chat with a professor, she felt that her father had for years harbored an evil, selfish desire to keep what he thought should be his. One day she was challenging her father on his opposition to higher taxes on the rich and the need for more government programs. The self-professed objectivity proclaimed by her professors had to be the truth and she indicated so to her father.

He responded by asking how she was doing in school. Taken aback, she answered rather haughtily that she had a 4.0 GPA, and let him know that it was tough to maintain, insisting that she was taking a very difficult course load and was constantly studying, which left her no time to go out and party like other people she knew. She didn’t even have time for a boyfriend, and didn’t really have many college friends because she spent all her time studying.

Her father listened and then asked, ‘How is your friend Audrey doing?’ She replied, ‘Audrey is barely getting by. All she takes are easy classes, she never studies, and she barely has a 2.0 GPA. She is so popular on Campus; college for her is a blast. She’s always invited to all the parties and lots of times she doesn’t even show up for classes because she’s too hung over.’

Her wise father asked his daughter, ‘Why don’t you go to the Dean’s Office and ask him to deduct 1.0 off your GPA and give it to your friend who only has a 2.0. That way you will both have a 3.0 GPA and certainly that would be a fair and equal distribution of GPA.’ The daughter, visibly shocked by her father’s suggestion, angrily fired back,

‘That’s a crazy idea, and how would that be fair! I’ve worked really hard for my grades! I’ve invested a lot of time, and a lot of hard work! Audrey has done next to nothing toward her degree. She played while I worked my tail off!’ The father slowly smiled, winked and said gently, ‘Welcome to the Republican Party.’

…the only difference is that a gpa can’t feed, and maintain medicine for senior citizens and abandoned kids.

I voted for McCain…and I’m not sold taxing the rich at a much higher rate, but burdening the middle class who DO pay their fair share takes away their purchasing power. AT the same point, who’s going to pay for the seniors that are in bad health and don’t have insurance, etc?

We can’t let people fall through the cracks and faithbased initiative crap isn’t nearly a big enough web to catch them.

jus sayin

Comment by WasLNbutNoBamaBotsKeepStealingMyName | 2008-10-16 17:27:13

Well, I do know this…burdening the small business owner who has to lay off employees who have elderly parents to care for is not going to do anyone any good.

Comment by destard | 2008-10-16 17:33:23

..it’s a cycle, huh.

Trying to force an ideology of ‘conservative/liberal’ isn’t going to solve the problem.

An intelligent one will though. Again, I’m not arguing for or against, I’m just saying that society as a whole does have a responsibility to insure the well being of its citizens. That’s what makes us human….

Standing by and watching a person suffer after being in a car accident and not lifting a finger to help, is the same thing as knowing a senior citizen can’t afford medicine and not helping.

If that’s ‘liberal’ instead of Christian, so be it.

Comment by chris | 2008-10-16 18:03:38

No one ever wants to not help people who need the help such as seniors. McCain addressed that in his outline for the economy. No one wants to not help poor children and people who are chronically ill with no where to go. But to perpetuate a welfare society by handing out free money to people who don’t even try to work is nuts. The incentive to work is to be able to stand on your own and take care of yourself and your family. In a free America, there is always the hope of doing well and achieving more. You just need to work for it. If the government tries to be the “Father” and controls your money flow, why would anyone really try to better themselves. I believe it’s called communism and it doesn’t work. The communist society is never hopeful, joyful or successful. I am appalled that Obama said “spread the wealth around” as easily as he said good morning. This tells me what we have all thought, that he was going to implement wealth redistribution, but to hear him say it out loud to an American citizen is just chilling.

And what about the homeless? I have a derivation of the old “catch a man a fish and you’ll feed him for a day” parable. If you build a homeless man a fire you’ll keep him warm for a day, but if you set a homeless man on fire you’ll keep him warm for the rest of his life. A modest proposal.

Comment by SnarlingCur | 2008-10-16 17:46:07

You do know there are plenty of organizations out there that do take care of people in need. A few years back, some friends of mine where living in an apartment that caught fire and destroyed the place. The Salvation Army was there helping them, before the fire was put out. They set them up in a hotel, provided clothes and three square meals a day, until they could get their life in order.

The truth is; if helping people in need is so important to you, you shouldn’t wait for the Government to do it, volunteer your own time and money, and get personally involved.

destardi, I agree with you. In a society we are responsible for each other. I think we need to have a reality check with some of these Wall Street CEOs and GWB’s Haves and Have Mores. I guess I just don’t have the “greed, mine, mine” mentality. I hope we weather this financial fiasco and that McCain/Palin will win and be inaugurated in January. Now that will be something really worth celebrating – since we couldn’t have Hillary. I’ll never forget what the DNC robbed us of.

We can’t let people fall through the cracks and faithbased initiative crap isn’t nearly a big enough web to catch them.

I agree. Senior citizens, many of whom (including my Mother) lived through and served during WWII. These people gave and did so with extraordinary courage and a sense of the “we” rather than the “me”. We owe them. While I will take care of my Mother, I know many others have no one. As for the children, they are our future.

Tom Brokaw was correct about the greatest generation. In 50 years, I wonder what historians will think of us. This is yet another reason why I refuse to vote fo Oblockhead.

Uh, pardon me, but seniors are taken care of its called medicare and social security. This above was discussion about higher taxes. You are off the reservation on this one.

Obama has got all these poor disillusioned students supporting and voting for him with promises of free or cheap tuition fees, and they just lap it up.

Well guess what, If he does get in (with their votes) the first promise he’s going to break will be to them. He’s allready said he’ll have to cut back on some of his commitments and they’re at the bottom of the pile. Sorry kids, but you’ve been had.

Comment by Laura | 2008-10-16 18:59:50

There you go! My daughter is at an ivy and is seeing how affirmative action works. She thinks it is wrong, too. Guess what my liberal democrat daughter is voting for McCain!

Comment by DanNY | 2008-10-16 17:05:13

I talked to a Union worker today that ask me… How are you guys going to vote? I paused – I don’t know this guy – we do know that we all totally could not stand Bush though. I said “I’m voting for McCain” the relief on his face was priceless! We talked a minute and he said it was Joe the Plumber that cemented his decision last night. He had be going back and forth. I’m glad that I could be there a fellow x-dem to seal the deal!

Tell people you are voting for McCain. I think they appriciate it.

Comment by Buzz Latte | 2008-10-16 17:05:36

Somehow we think JOE the plumber is survive the silly Obama attacks. He seems like a well grounded guy who has his priorities straight.

Could anyone say that about Obama?

Let’s see: Well-grounded and priorities straight. Nope–those are phrases which can’t be used in the same sentence with Oblockhead.

Comment by Annie Oakley | 2008-10-16 17:08:15

Take Joe the Plumber, for example. He works and pays taxes. The Democrats take said taxes and fund ACORN so that someone can get paid to register people – or cartoon characters – to vote. Joe pays. The government takes and redirects the fruits of Joe’s labor to ACORN, which then turns around and funds politicians like Obama who agree that Joe owes more. Would it be so bad if everyone was expected to make minimal effort? Registering to vote is not expensive, not difficult. Let’s cut out the middleman and expect any citizen who wants to vote to care enough to get registered.

An Obama volunteer stopped me on the sidewalk and ask if I supported Obama. I responded with an emphatic “no,” and I proceeded to discuss how this Democrat refuses to aid and abet corruption and fraud. Because the Obama volunteer immediately became violent, I spun on my heels and entered an establishment. The Obamabot thankfully did not follow me, but if he did, I would have telephoned the police.

Honest, civic-minded people will make the effort to register and vote…and yes, it would be nice if they knew their vote would count!
This ACORN group may have registered a few uninformed people who needed the nudge, but for the most part, they have scraped the “dregs” of society.
They are frauds and thieves, like their leader!

I was reading about AP and I wonder if that is really why they are being dropped???

Shocker: Tribune Co. Gives Notice To Drop AP

Just saying they have not exactly been reporting the truth, remember what they did to Clinton. I don’t read AP any more.

Comment by Docelder | 2008-10-16 17:46:17

They are probably looking at having to do with less revenue and higher costs… less ad revenue as companies do less business… while costs continue to rise. Something has to give if they are to stay in business. Everybody I have talked to is planning on cutting back if Obama wins. I had a neighbor just last night say he will have to lay a few people off immediately… because he knows business will fall. I think McCain should have elaborated more on the Herbert Hoover analogy… because it is very timely given our circumstance.

Comment by barry bums a ciggie | 2008-10-16 17:56:47

AP stands for All Propaganda…they are so in the tank for OFlim Flam. They help Barry pass out the racism card in their writing, and want us to believe they have integrity in news reporting. I see AP and I don’t even bother.

Comment by Sammie | 2008-10-16 19:39:57

I agree, AP really should stand for All Propaganda.

Comment by Deep Truths | 2008-10-16 20:33:16

AP should just GIVE THE NEWS. Lately they have added ‘opinion’ to their news – usually anti-McCain/Palin and pro Obama.

This should put them on notice. Tribute owns several newspapers, cough, Chicago Tribune being one. Tee hee.

Makes you wonder what’s really going on.

Comment by KXT | 2008-10-16 17:42:25

ACORN is the reason HRC is not the nominee. THe MSM failed to investigate this community group. It took the republicans to bring this issue to the forefront. WHat a contentious electyion this will be.

How great would that be if Joe the Plumber sinks the Obama campaign. What a wonderful thing that would be. Can you imagine what the powers behind the faux king would be doing if that happened? Oh what terrific Karma that would be.

Comment by DWF | 2008-10-16 18:14:55

The sinking of the Obama campaign will be Obama being let loose to speak without a teleprompter. Imagine Bill Burton’s face the first time he saw the clip of Obama exposing his socialist views for all America to see to Joe the plumber. Joe just happened to be in the right place at the right time. DNC is probably rethinking their going door to door with Obama….lol.

McCain/Palin 08

Remember when an ordinary citizen could ask a question or challenge a politican without being vetted more than the politican he questioned? This is chilling. We have no media in this country. It started with bush and was completed with obama.

I WANT MY COUNTRY BACK!

People like Joe the plumber, is probably why Obama refused to do town hall meetings with McCain….he can’t stand talking WITH the common man. Someone might ask a common sense question, and has no answer but, “I want to spread the wealth around!”

focusing on Acorn is a waste of time and is hurting the party… it was clear from the audience meters on both CNN and CNBC that when McCain mentioned Acorn in the debate not only was there a big negative reaction from independents, but also from republicans….

make the case based on jobs, taxes, spending… whatever… not this garbage…

just because a person hired to help people register is lazy and puts in a bunch of false names does not mean there is voter fraud… you cannot just show up to vote without ID… and where are you going to get the ID for the supposive 1,000s of false names that have been registered… the fraud only happens if someone actually votes and not just from signing up to vote…

this stuff is not helping… trying to tie it to Obama is also a long shot… McCain also was a featured speaker at a Acorn event…

Comment by nobonomo | 2008-10-16 19:10:01

CCN and CNBC? Who cares? The race is tightning since the ACORN fraud came out. The FBI is now investigating. All Americans should care about it and it should be enough to sink Obama’s ship.

Anyone who doesn’t care doesn’t care about America.

Comment by Susan | 2008-10-17 08:02:33

but what does this have to do with Obama…? do you think that people will not vote for Obama because of this? independents don’t care…

the polls have not moved… if anything this type of garbage is hurting McCain… it is a distraction… he looked like an ass talking about this during the debate…

ever minute talking about this is a minute not talking about the economy…

no wonder McCain is losing.. living in this fantasy land just avoids reality…

McCain’s campaign has been a disaster… this flip flopping on issues is a complete disaster…

Comment by sarainitaly | 2008-10-17 03:34:03

If you read the post, you would see that there is already voter fraud happening. And you do not need ID to vote in many states. AND you can vote by abstentee ballot.

And the point of the article is that we are funding this ridiculous exercise.

but thanks for your feedback.

If I am not mistaken, McCain was speaking at something to do with Hispanics, not voter registration.

Comment by Susan | 2008-10-17 07:41:23

you always need ID…. some states just require a utility bill or social security card… but, you always need some form of ID…

it would be pretty hard to vote fraudulently in mass numbers because of some false Acorn registrations…

Ohio for example

When You Vote, Bring I.D.
Many forms of identification will be accepted. They are:
Early In-Person and Absentee Voting
The last four digits of voter’s Social Security number; or driver’s license number; or
A copy of a current and valid photo identification, (i.e. Ohio driver’s license, state ID card, government ID). Photo identification must show name and address; or
A copy of a current utility bill (including cell phone bill), bank statement, paycheck, government check, or other government document that shows the voter’s name and current address (including from a public college or university).

Election Day Voting
A current and valid photo identification (i.e. Ohio driver’s license, state ID card, government ID). Photo identification must show name and address (does not need to be current address for driver’s license or state id card); or
A military identification that shows the voter’s name. (Does not need to show address); or
A copy of a current utility bill (including cell phone bill), bank statement, paycheck, government check, or other government document that shows the voter’s name and current address (including from a public college or university).

OMG! NPMA–non-partisan my ass!!! How in the world has ACORN been getting away with this? And no one is going to tell me that Obama, Axelrod, et al do not know/have not known about this Obama machine since day one! I mean, c’mon, Maxine Waters, John Conyers!?! ACORN needs to rename itself to “THE OBAMA SOLDIERS”. This organization receives government funding?? This is a total get out the vote for Obama effort period. I am disgusted that no one could have figured this out before now. The fix is in. This is a rigged election.

From Gretawire …. Greta is asking her readers to investigate for her, she’s trying to determine if an individual connected to ACORN and SEIU knows Ayers … I’ve included a portion of her post, but suggest going to gretawire to read the entire post if interested (this pertains to ACORN in Ohio).

“did some really quick research and learned that Rathke was a member of the anti war group SDS. This is where YOU come in again. If you know 60’s history, you know that the Weather Underground was an offshoot of SDS. There was some disagreement in the late 60’s and members of the SDS – Bill Ayers and his wife – left and formed/ joined the Weather Underground.

So now I am wondering: do Rathke and Ayers know each other (from SDS / Weather Underground days)? what is the connection now, if any, between them? between ACORN and SEIU? between them and Senator Obama?”

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Florida’s governor says his fellow Republicans may be exaggerating claims of voter fraud in the state.

Gov. Charlie Crist said Wednesday that he has confidence in Secretary of State Kurt Browning, who says there’s only been a scattering of isolated incidents.

Crist said in the closing days of any campaign “there are some who sort of enjoy chaos.” There may be more of that going on than fraud, he said.
