Remember when Barack described Ayers as, “just some guy from the neighborhood?” Well, we now have Bill Ayers’ account from 1997. According to Ayers:

Also, as someone who’s lived in Hyde Park, I’m sure you’d agree that it is far from being a racial utopia. These nuts live in a fantasy land fueled by over-paying jobs and government grants. All these “enlightened” white elitists in Kenwood and Hyde Park should be made to relocate 20 blocks south so that 1) they could really experience the fruits of their social engineering labors and 2) show us how well they get along with the African American community.

I can not for the life of me figure out why these two people who supposedly had to struggle to pay off their student loans that paid for the Law School, would obtain a License to practice Law by sitting for the Bar and passing, and then would suspend those Licenses, willingly?

I don’t know how many of you saw the movie W. yet. I think Powell maybe going on meet the press to try and rehabilitate his image. The movie trashed him pretty much. Many are correct, who would his endorsement sway, not many republicans, they probably don’t like him much anymore, after he has come out and really trashed their position on Iraq after the fact. “if I knew then what I know now, I wouldn’t have supported it” sound familiar, he is like the rest of the crowd in DC at least most of it. When something goes bad they look for a rock to crawl under. If he wanted to endorse him why wouldn’t he have shown up at the two mega rallys yesterday. Although, I admit not a whole lot has made sense about this whole cycle.

Colin Powell could not endorse the radical extreme liberal ideology of Barack Obama. If Mr. Powell were to do this, it would mean that Mr. Powell’s honor and integrity could be traded for something else.
If, in America, we are to use honor, integrity, beliefs and coveted ideology as a guide rather than the color of someone’s skin; then for sure racism will be defeated. Otherwise, racism will live on and the majority race will always prevail.

Colin Powell also severely damaged his objectivity and respect for the US Constitution by his United Nation’s public theater to justify going into IRAQ.

Colin Powell also helped the UN come in to monitor the election. Twelve or thirteen Democratic Senators approached the UN and then Powell had to finish it.
They are in place to guard against “racism” You will see all the racism charges brought by the other side will come into play should Obama lose the election. The reason they are bringing racism up is to use as “proof”.
It may then go to the UN and the World Court. Obama will not go quietly. We already have threats of riots. We need to be mindful of cities like Chicago who are arming their police with assault rifles.
One scenario is Obama demanding to be made Prime Minister. Worked in Russia and in Kenya.
I have always had great respect for Colin Powell. I have even said many times that I would have voted for him if he ran for pres. If he endorses that asshole tomorrow, I will lose all respect for him. I can’t believe he would be that uninformed. Surely he owns a computer…or watches Fox News…I just can’t believe it…I will have to see it with my own eyes.
By endorsing Sen. Obama, Colin Powell is attempting to burnish his career after demonstrating his willingness to lie to the UN for the Bush II adminstration. He will now be continue to be spoken of respectfully by some people. However, it is further evidence of governmental/msm-style careerism that is something to be understood but not respected.

These quotes struck me the first time I read this passage from Ayers’ book:

There’s painful truth in that description s the powerful university and its allied neighborhood association have worked to manipulate boundaries and borders to assure “stability” and separation. (Bill Ayers wrote this)
Ayers is very much the rich frat boy — who has made a name for himself in Academia. He is part of the segregated world — segregated by income and wealth from the poor. Yet he thinks he is speaking for the poor — who the hell asked him to be their spokesperson? Obama also was never part of any ghetto — he lived in another segregated world — segregated by income and wealth.
These two rich guys are eventually going to create a whole lot of very pissed of poor folk — who have been lead to believe that they will get “their” piece of the pie.
There is a story told about one of the very wealthy millionaires of the early 20th century — a man came up to the millionaire complaining that the millionaire should share his wealth with those less fortunate. The millionaire replied — that there are xx millions who are less fortunate that himself — so he reached into his pocket, pulled out a few pennies and handed them to the man on the street. The millionaire told the man that those pennies were his share of his wealth — and said something like go away and shut up.
Ayers seems to be the son of that millionaire — and he somehow understands the struggles of the masses. Problem is that the real backbone of America are the working middle class — and neither Ayers nor Obama speak for nor understand the working middle class (or even the hard working poor who play by the rules.)
Chicago’s had some of the worst (and most violent) ghettos in the nation forever. All the Daleys and Ayerses and Obamas and Rezkos and Wrights and Meekses and Farrakhans and Jacksons do is get out the vote. If they actually ever did anything for these people the ghettos would have been gone long ago. The blacks support these crooks year after year. They need to wake up.

I’m starting to see the progress of Mac’s comeback. I think for BO it’s going to be defeat by a thousand cuts. Little by little, chipping away at his facade. These old issues that BO thought he’d buried are now rising up with new focus, witnesses, and evidence not presented before.

Yes, there’s something about skin color in that comment, namely, if Gen. Powell does come out in support of Obama bin Biden* he’s likely doing it because they share a darker pigmentation.
My point is that this is perfectly o.k. within the parameters of political correctness, but if white people base their vote on such a similar feature it is deemed racist (a crime worse than murder in PC America [if you don't believe me, review the OJ trial]).
*Whose secret affiliation with Islam is an issue to me, given the fact that millions of people — especially women — are oppressed by it thoughout the world and its followers are currently waging a Jihad against the West. Not a good thing for a democracy. The natural processes are slow and often unfair. The majority will win out–is generally the rule. Mother nature is also often unfair. Take it up with God or universal physical laws. A more humane nature can no more be grafted onto our hopes than a cow’s leg onto a pig.
But in a fair and just world things will change for the better. Forcing the issue will only alienate…that is the message in “circling the white wagons.”
Neither of the Obamas have cause to bash our society…they have prospered from the changes advanced in recent decades. Seems many minorities (this is, after all, a predominantly anglo/saxon society) are too busy fighting the system rather than taking advantage of opportunities. Wallowing in self-pity and angry outrage is counterproductive–except to those
demagogues who make a living espousing hate and division; they are set for life.
Wake up and smell the hypocrisy. People of modest income do have a common enemy; it is greed and corruption at the highest levels. We can’t beat that entrenced hierarchy by attacking one another or burning down our cities.

Just saw the young priest who regularly comments on Fox. He basically said that we should not believe the polling. He has had many people come up to him and indicate that they are supporting McCain, that for many reasons they cannot support Obama, but are afraid to speak up because they do not want to be labeled racist, against change, etc. He’s not the kind of change they want; they find him to far to the left.
He also knew of McCain supporters going door to door in Ohio who were told by homeowners that they supported McCain, but did not want a sign in their yards. The inference was clear that they did not want trouble.

I’ve been trying to figure out why anyone thinks the Obama’s weak ties to Ayers amounts to a hill of beans, if that, I think I’ve narrowed it down to two arguments:
ONE: The connection between the two tells us who the real Barack Obama is.
This is the equivalent of a tin-foil-hat conspiracy theory. Such people believe that one distant association with someone whose long-past actions Obama has expressly and repeatedly rejected as horrible, tells us more than (1) the two books Obama has written about who he is, where he is from, and what he wants for America (btw, Ayers does not appear in either of those books–if the connection between the two were as strong as “Hannity Insanity” assume, you’d expect to see Ayers at least get a mention); (2) his legislative voting record for 6 years in the Illinois Senate and 2 years in the U.S. Senate; (3) the hundreds if not thousands of political speeches he has given in the last 20 months while running for president; and (4) the advisors he has surrounded himself within the 20 months of this campaign.
Of course, conservatives have looked at all of this and have found nothing to support the tin-foil-hat theory that the weak connections to Ayers tell it all–much less an iota of proof that Obama knew about Ayers Weather Underground days before Ayers’ book came out in 2001, if even then, so even the best case they have is based upon unproven assumptions. And yet, this utter bullshit argument persists, which could only mean it persists because of reason two.
TWO: Obama’s statements about his weak associations with Ayers show that Obama is a liar.
I’ll give you “misleading” on this, and here is why. Was Obama ever asked to tell us all of the connections between himself and Ayers, however distant? NO. Obama apparently gave a one sentence endorsement one on of Ayers books in 1995, but there is no proof that Obama didn’t just forget about that. Ayers likely wrote it anyway-that’s how many of those book endorsement work.
So, the best you have is that Obama said, “He’s just a guy in my neighborhood,” which is technically true, and relevant because it explains why a young nobody running for office would gladly appear at anyone’s home who would invite a few friends and give him an audience–as he explains in his second book. You ought to read it.
But, I will give you that it appears deliberately misleading if you’ll give me that Bush deliberately misled us about WMD’s in Iraq. After all, we now know that Bush knew of considerable high-level intelligence refuting his position and did not let us know about the intelligence. One misled us to bring a nation into a war of aggression, needless costing thousands of lives and a huge pointless drain on our treasury. The other deliberately misled us to keep tin-foil-hat conspiracy kooks from trying to make something out of nothing–SEE NUMBER ONE.
