Look Who Else Is In Bed With ACORN – UPDATED

Yep, none other than John Edwards. Ahem. Oh, he didn’t just speak at one of their conventions, like some other Democrats did. No, it wasn’t that casual or innocent. He actually traveled with their president around the country. It gets really interesting around the 6 1/2 minute mark. Oh yeah, check it out:

Uh, yeah, so Edwards apparently spends a lot of time with ACORN. But wait – it gets better (and by better, of course, I mean on the issue of voter fraud):

I see (and as you can see, this is part 6 of 6 – the other 4 parts were the conclusion of his speech, and then more questions). It isn’t that ACORN is fraudulently registering people that’s the problem, because – hey – they’ve “registered” over 1 million people! – but it is the INVESTIGATION into those “voter registrations” that is the problem because they may suppress “voting.” I gotcha.

Now, look – as the politicians ALL like to say (Joe Biden and Barack Obama especially) – I am ALL for lawfully registering people to vote, and I am adamantly opposed to any real attempts at voter suppression in any communities by anyone. To attempt to thwart anyone’s right to vote is just flat out wrong.

That being said, when ACORN registers 666,000 (okay – am I the only one who finds the “666″ part to be a bit telling?!?!) in a state that has been steadily declining in population, and when it is already acknowledged by the “powers-that-be” that approximately 200,000 are fraudulent, it makes the argument that this is all about voter suppression, just a bit weak (here’s a LINK for more information on that, and actual voter fraud in OH)…Just a little tiny bit…I wonder why the applause wasn’t QUITE so loud about Edwards’ suggestion of paper balloting? Hmmm – I could be reading into that, but then again, maybe not…

Anywho – I thought this was all pretty interesting, the connections Edwards has with ACORN, too. Maybe not quite as many connections as Obama, but hey, if he did, maybe he’d be the nominee right now! Hahaha – just kidding. We all know the fix was in for Obama. Still – sure seems like ACORN has a mighty wide net for prominent Democrats, especially for a “nonpartisan” organization! Ahem. I reckon that’s how they ended up with $31 million of our money. I’m sure they do some good with it, but they sure do some major shenanigans with it, too. I reckon it’s the latter that’s exactly why they DO get so much money, especially in election years, don’t you? Yeah. That’s what I thought.

UPDATE:
As it turns out, an attorney for ACORN also thinks there are some issues with charitable funds and ACORN. Oh, yes – it was in the NY Times yesterday. Yes, the attorney, Elizabeth Kingsley, lays out all of her concerns regarding ACORN and charitable giving, as well as THIS little gem:

It also offers a different account of the embezzlement of almost $1 million by the brother of Acorn’s founder, Wade Rathke, than the one the organization gave in July, when word of the theft became public.

“A full analysis of potential liability will require consultation with a knowledgeable white-collar criminal attorney,” Ms. Kingsley wrote of the embezzlement, which occurred in 2000 but was not disclosed until this summer.

Here’s one of the best parts, though. Guess which voter registration group is affiliated with ACORN? Project Vote. So what, you ask? Well, alert citizens know that to be the group for which OBAMA worked in IL. Turns out that the only people on its Board of Directors are from ACORN. Wanna tell us again, Barack, about your relationship with ACORN, of the rampant voter registration fraud?? *Crickets* Yeah, that’s what I thought.

If only the NY Times had acted like a real newspaper and not pooh-poohed this whole idea that ACORN was acting in a fraudulent manner. One can only imagine what could have happened had they acted to INFORM rather than CAMPAIGN for their chosen candidate. Sadly, that’s all we can do – imagine. Hopefully, though, this is not TOO little too late, and the people of the US might get the clue that there are organizations working HARD to undermine our right as citizens to cast a vote that matters. Let’s not just hope, though – let’s spread the word. Our votes must matter!

Private Republican and Democratic polls showed Mahoney with a comfortable lead over Republican challenger Tom Rooney early this month. But a post-scandal poll by the Rooney campaign last week showed the Republican with a 55-to-29 percent lead over Mahoney.

I have long despised this man. Channeling babies for juries – destroying the medical practices of OB/GYN’s in his home state – bilking malpractice insurers of millions – and when the evidence proved that increasing cesarean births did not actually lower the percentage of babies born with cerebral palsy — did Edwards retract his accusations? Refund a dime of his ill-gotten gains? Issue a statement of any kind? Of course not. He’s a dirt ball who exploited the pain of others with theatrical courtroom dramas, followed by his TWO AMERICAS class warfare campaign, and most recently by his sophomoric escapades while his wife is battling cancer. So, who is surprised by his association with ACORN? Go comb your hair, John-Boy, and stay out of our lives.

OT but important and related to Obama

I have posted this reply on a thread at the website: http://hillaryclintonforum.net

The thread was regarding the FEC’s response to Berg’s lawsuit.

Please pass this around or post in one’s own words on other websites and maybe we can get Congress to do their jobs!!!

Three months ago I was told by the office of the Secretary of State in Massachusetts that Obama’s citizenship status was a federal matter and was under the jurisdiction of Congress.

Why doesn’t the FEC put that in their reply to the court, instead of just saying that they are not responsible accept for a campaign’s finances. As a federal agency shouldn’t they be aware of Congress’ authority over this situation

On this site and many other websites, hundreds of individuals have contacted their states’ representatives and congressmen or congresswomen. Yet I have not heard from anyone saying that Congress has the power to have Obama prove his eligibility as a candidate for the presidency.

If Congress does have the power, why are they not responding to the American voters deep concerns that Obama may not be a natural-born citizen and, therefore, ineligible to be president. Are they just trying to ignore the situation since all of them have been working side-by-side without ever considering Obama’s qualifications?

Is it that easy for Congress to just ignore rather than explore and research their constituents cries for help.

It certainly would be a lot more embarrassing for Congress to be shown how inept and careless they have been in not vetting Obama during the primary election and even now before the general election is over.

Senators Kennedy and Kerry have endorsed Obama 100%, but I’d be willing to bet that neither of them have seen his COLB or BC. They, like the rest of Congress, have simply assumed that Obama is a natural-born citizen.

I know that if I call their offices, I will be talking on deaf ears. They will not do a thing. Even though, I believe that they are aware of American citizens questioning Obama’s eligibility. It makes me furious that these Senators and others have done nothing to make sure that Obama met the standards for the presidency.

Obviously, the democratic party just went through their convention process and almost unanimously chose Obama without questioning his citizenship status. Again, the democratic party has just assumed he is eligibile.

So I am requesting, Philip J. Berg, Steve Marquis, Andy Martin, Mitchell Langbert, and anyone else who has a lawsuit pending……..if Congress has power over the matter like the office of the Secretary of State in Massachusetts told me, why don’t all of you file complaints or get petitions in motions so all of us on the internet can sign them and get Congress to do their job.

We have less than two weeks to have Senator Obama present his certified vault copy of his COLB and BC. Hawaii could FED EX it to him. Then he could present it to Congress. In addition, all of you gentlemen who have been pursuing every American citizens right to know that every presidential candidate is a natural-born citizen, can let us know if these documents prove or disprove Obama’s eligibility based on their authenticity.

Please, can the American People be given this info before the General Election.

Comment by jvsp | 2008-10-22 01:38:47

Obama can’t produce a BC. He’s still applying for a soul.

As for Congress….

McCain is ahead in the polls in FL and OH. If he is up by 1 point that means he is up by a lot more then that. They did the same thing to Hillary and she still won the primary. This race is far from over. Over confidence works both ways. How many people you think won’t vote because the MSM is declaring Obama the winner. All now matters is that you all go out and vote and let the chips fall as they may. Nov 5th you will see a new Morning with McCain as the next president. The pollsters will be trying to figure out where they got it wrong. The exit polls will not make any sense. This election is unique at a very unique time in our history.

Comment by Andrew191 | 2008-10-22 02:56:19

The polls are always slanted toward the Democrats for several reasons.
1. Democrats are by nature more politically active and more likely to respond to pollsters. Republicans are more concerned with work and personal matters. This may sound like I’m generalizing, but this is not a factor that can be plugged into a pollsters calculations.
2. The bulk of democrats tend toward the lower income brackets so that they are more likely to rely on home phones as apposed to cell phones. Since most polls are conducted over home phones the tendency for Republicans to rely more heavily on cell phones is difficult to factor into the polling model.
These, along with more subtle influences, have recently been the reason why polls are usually 5 to 8 points higher for Democrats than the actual tallies end up being on election day.
This of course is no reason to relax, it’s sooooo much less stressful to go into election day with a lead. God help us.

Comment by Deep Truths | 2008-10-22 06:03:38

The polls are part of the conspiracy of Obama’s bought off henchmen: MSM and pollsters.

I saw a pattern where days before the presidential debates two or three major polls would balloon up to plus 8 or plus 9 for Obama.

The same thing is happening now in the final stretch. Think of it as the days before the debate only this time it will last for two weeks.

It is psychological devise to dampen enthusiasm for McCain voters. A voter suppression tactic.

Two weeks is still a lifetime in politics and Obama and Biden have more highwire walking to do than John and Sarah.

I don’t believe this is true. They have not pulled out of Michigan ether. The media is just making this stuff up to show that McCain is loosing. McCain will win this thing big. When democrats who have been voting democratic for 30 years are voting straight republican you know McCain is going to win big. The republican base is unified even more then during the Bush 2004 election thanks to Palin. The democrats are fractured. This will setup McCain for a big win.

Of course, the next article I read on that site said that police departments all over the country, especially in big cities, are already planning for Carville’s “violence in the streets” warning by doubling the on-duty force on election day.

Donna Brazille said the same thing, except her phrase was “blood in the streets.”

Sounds like Bill Ayers in 1968, doesn’t it?

Ed Rendell “worried” about Bobo? He’s probably secretly rubbing his hands in glee! The Obamaniacs aren’t verbally attacking Joe the Plumber and physically attacking Palin’s motorcade because they think they’re winning! You can bet the internal polls are not looking good for Bobo because the experts will be factoring in the Bradley Effect and using the common sense God gave them–which would tell them, in no uncertain terms, that Bobo is a verrrrrry long shot in states like OH and PA (for starters!) Just think what we’ve heard about PA: everything between Philly and Pitts is Alabama; the western part full of racists and rednecks; a place where bitter people cling to guns and Bibles and distrust outsiders. I have a deep suspicion that the 4836000 dollars given to ACORN by the OBAMA campaign though a FRONT organization with the money disguised as “SOUND SYSTEM AND LIGHTING’ was really a payoff to JOHN EDWARDS for his ENDORSEMENT at a time chosen by the OBAMA camp. the Cash came in in very LARGE AMOUNTS right around the time that REILLE HUNTET started to get MANY LARGE PAYMENTS totalling over $500 THOUSAND DOLLARS from EDWARDS’S ATTY FRED BARON! if this is what think happened this will be a MAJOR SCANDAL WITH CRIMINAL LIABILITY! Anybody look into this?

Why was Edwards in the race in the first place. To divide Hillary supporters, then double team her in the debates. John Edwards is despicable and will never be seen in politics again.

I looked into it a bit. Did you know that Hunters name was Lisa Druck? Her father was caught in a scheme to kill race horses for their insurance. Lisa went to NY, late 80s, and was a well known part of the party scene there. Wild enough to become the basis for characters in a couple of books. Odd that she “bumped into” Edwards.

Good Morning to those already up. Would be better if all the bots around the world crawled back under the rocks. My server got hit by obots because of a snarky email I sent yesterday to the Obama campaign in NC. I will be hosting two Clinton supporters the begining of Nov that will be coming from out of state to NC to campaign. So if anyone knows someone that need a place to stay in NC, you can send them my way. I will be having the vans again so we are going to be on ground here in force and have a “phone banking” event on the 1st.

So if anyone would pass it on that they can email me at soldier4hillary@yahoo.com it would be appreciated, as well as passing on the link for anyone who would like a donate to keep them from eating raman noodles the entire time, hey that works to. But seriously if you could pass on the message and the link it would be appreciated. If you know someone who does need accomadations, lets me know but I will be out of the net so to speak to go to Walter Reed but I will respond back ASAP.

If this paypal link doesnt work they can go to my blog

I guess you can look at it as you must be having an effect on McCain winning or they would not be spending so much time trying to shut you up. So you go on girl!! We’re all in this together.

Actually, I was and am strongly in favor of the minimum wage being raised so that a full-time employee can make a living. I have a son who is the kindest, friendliest kid. He has a normal IQ, but he has a disability called dyscalculia that meant he just couldn’t navigate our public school system and that means there are just some jobs he can’t do. He finally earned a GED and does have a full-time job earning slightly more than minimum wage, but it will be a struggle for him to get ahead all his life. He worked for years at minimum wage in places that always scheduled him a few hours less a week than full-time.

That said, I draw the line in giving tax dollars for a very partisan organization. It is not right. ACORN can do ACORN’s thing if it wants. When someone “gets in my face,” I usually am so stubborn I go the opposite way they want me to go.

NO PUBLIC MONEY FOR ACORN!

it’s a sad day in America when a kid w a learning disability will get out and work but other so called “normal” people sit on their butts all day. I find the minimum wage appaling but what is worse is why we even have to have a law so employers will pay a fair wage! There are many people who dont’ even deserve min. wage and many who deserve more.

I commend you for raising a great kid and one way or another he will make his way in the world. Just keep God in the plan and you all will be just fine.

Been despising Edwards since 2003. he was spreading vile rumors on all the other candidates, but the media had designated him as “the nice guy”
On a lighter note, Nielsen says that your politics informs what you watch – see if you agree with this list

As a former constituent of Edwards’ I really resented it when he quickly decided to run for president rather than representing me in a Republican senate. Uh, who else does that remind you of? Surely there are people in Illinois who feel that way about Barky.

I’ve always wondered why a “get out the vote” or getting out to prod people to get registered is needed.

If they don’t have the interest in their country, their government or what those things mean in their life, why should they vote?

If you don’t know everything possible about both candidates and have at least a working knowledge of how the system works, don’t vote.

Voting for the “leader” of the country shouldn’t be something someone else has to come to you and beg you pretty please to participate.

If you don’t have the guts, gumption or interest to get up off your lazy ass and register without someone prodding you, don’t vote.

We have enough people voting while ignorant now, we don’t need more. In some other countries people risk death to vote. Here? Low turnout if it rains.

Guess who else is in bed with ACORN? John McCain! He was a keynote speaker at a 2006 event co-sponsored by ACORN. Wah-laa!

Mmmm… that’s good guilt-by-association.

My brother in law was for this guy. He would always say to me- how can you vote for Hillary? My answer to him was ” There is something about this guy especially when he put a smirk in his mouth that tells me he is a phoney and he is not who he say he is,” My brother in law would get upset with me and we would not discuss politics. When the scandal of Edwards later came, he called me and said ” I guess you were right.” I am never wrong with characters, and now this one running for President worries me. I feel a doom feeling about him if the Presidency is given to him. That doom feeling normally comes true.

Great post! Yeah, this was they guy who wanted to “fight” for the votes in Ohio in 2004….I bet he was just “positioning” himself for his later run…

To think I actually supported this guy early on…I hang my head in shame….

Did everyone see on Greta last night that there are 30,000 felons registered to vote in Florida. The attorney General says its not his department and that the secretary of state has to handle it. He said they may just leave the registrations in the system since it is too difficult to make sure that someone who is legal to vote is not deleted.

This is just wrong

ACORN, attacked for being community organizers.

John Edwards was OPENLY WITH ACORN, did plenty of events with them, worked down in New Orleans with them, and attended an ACORN event with all other Democratic Candidates during the primaries…INCLUDING HILLARY CLINTON.

DUH.
