Behind-The-Scenes Talk * Open Thread

OPEN THREAD, with a bonus, the latest McCain/Palin Web ad:

Here’s some behind-the-scenes talk amongst the No Quarter contributors, at least that which we can put in print:

In quick e-mails on a private mailing list, we NoQuarter writers share ideas and help with research. Yesterday, one our very creative contributors wrote this fast note to all the writers:

Just a thought to share…

Obama leading in the polls, advantages in money, favors from the MSM, the populace disdain for Bush, everything is going for BO. It just makes no sense for someone in a commanding lead to resort to fraudulent practices like ACORN’s to gain an unfair (and legally questionable) edge. He should not need it. In fact, any shrewd candidate in his position would shut down ACORN immediately to avoid any implication of impropriety.

Something is just not adding up!

Another writer replied:

Recall that he needed 5x spending over Clinton and still lost primaries. He can’t close the deal and needs every legal and potentially illegal advantage to be competitive and he’ll still likely lose.

It’s just like what a friend told me early last spring, just as Hillary was rising and lambasting him in the KEY battleground states: “If Barack Obama is so transformative and so charismatic, how come he can’t close the deal?”
