Obama’s Race-Baiting

Obama has said he is all about trans-racial politics even while his past associations with the likes of Rev. Wright, Father Pfleger and other race salary-men suggest otherwise.

Gatewaypundit has a video today from Naked Emperor News with some comments from BO back in 1995. Yeah, it’s a few years ago. But he talks about the same thing he mentioned to “Joe the Plumber.” This sounds like the real BO to me – not the sanitized stump speech version. After all, there are no white people who willingly pay taxes for AA children to go to school, are there?

Here’s the video:

I wonder – will people try to convince us BO’s politics have changed or his attitudes? Given that he was at Trinity until last spring, I’d say the only viable thing to say is his politics have changed. But the BO campaign will do whatever they can get away with, not what is true or even passes the sniff test.

Anyone that has EVER heard Obama speak knows that this is FAKE. Btw, if there is audio, where is the video? File this where you have the “whitey tape” stored. lol

You guys should really give up on the conspiracy theories. It just makes you look more like someone wearing tin foil hats at home instead of descent Americans that are not voting for Obama as it is your right to pick and choose. It’s the American way!

Yup, every Obama critic is a liar, every critical tape is fake. We got that.

Now you guys are claiming the girl who was beaten up and had the letter ‘B’ for Obama carved on her face did it to herself to get into papers. Castro would LOVE to have citizens like you. Ever considered moving?

Comment by Rah-Rah | 2008-10-24 14:31:53

I am hearing from reputable news sources that the girl did make it up. I figured that was the case. Some people need attention – Republicans and Democrats, alike.

She needs help. And we don’t need to be burdened with this type of BS.

A few points here.

1. I can spot a voice at a mile. In a blindfold test. There’s no way to quickly review this entire clip and I’m not interested enough but there are portions of it that are definitely genuine.

2. The following is – no offence meant – an underhanded statement.

Some have questioned this tape’s authenticity. Judge for yourself.

I’ve probably done the equivalent on many occasions, as have others. But that doesn’t excuse it. Not with these critical issues involved.

For we can just as well question the authenticity of the claim some have questioned the tape’s authenticity.

If you want people to heed what you write and respect it then use citations. Give people links. Let them do their own research to reach the same conclusions as you.

For otherwise your statements fall flat as just more Obama-boozle.

Thanks.

PS. Troll alert?

Friends, Greta has finally tossed the ball…

Read this and over 1000 comments. Link attached below.

“Of course I know about all the internet gossip about Senator Obama’s birth. Many of you (thousands?) have written me saying he was not born in the USA ( a Constitutional requirement for President) …. the rumors are flying around the internet and overloading my inbox and is viral. It doesn’t stop! I have thought the emails a waste of keyboard time and have ignored them.

However, since the emails just won’t stop…and since it really is a topic that should be put to rest and can be done with such ease, I now think Senator Obama should release his birth certificate but I also think, to be fair, so should the other 3….yes, all 4.

So, let’s have it! All 4 need to release their birth certificates to prove each was born in the USA and thus constitutionally able to serve as President. Let’s insist that all 4 release birth certificates and put the matter to rest! (and yes, stop the emails to me!)

Until this is done, the rumors simply will not stop and rumors are not fair…it is not fair to Senator Obama and he also should not be blackmailed into producing the records…so, if all 4 must produce, that seems fair.

Let’s see them….and then let’s move on.”

Comment by Bell'Artista | 2008-10-24 14:07:55

Well, actually McCain HAS produced his BC , when all this was going on a while ago it came up because McCain was born in Panama to two American parents.

From what I understand, current “rumor” has it that Frank Marshall Davis impregnated the underage Anne Dunham, who gave birth in Kenya, married “goat herder” Obama and was then later adopted by Soetoro

It’s complicated but there seems to be a technical problem with Ann being underage and then not in the US long enough , at the time of Obama’s birth there was some sort of time stipulation …
Phil Berg was explaining it on Mike Savage’s radio show yesterday (WIND Chicago, 1 and 1/2 hour interview on podcast now with Grabby saying she was at Obama’s birth in Kenya)

Comment by Lizzie Struthers | 2008-10-24 14:29:38

This is not a ‘innocent until proved innocent’. There’s no pandering to Obama here please. This is a ‘you dammit are not qualified if you can’t prove you are born in the US thank you very much’. It’s really really simple. And I think the lack of producing a birth certificate fails the smell test horrendously.

Comment by Lizzie Struthers | 2008-10-24 14:31:09

PS. Reading the comments at Greta’s I’m totally dismayed. The seemingly perpetually increasing demographic of people who do not study history and who do not have a clue, only bigotry and prejudices, is staggering.

This is a common talking point in Chicago, the desparity in available funds for Chicago public schools versus the north shore suburbs that consist of predominately white exec types and their families.

In fact, at the beginging of this school year Reverend Meeks (a cohort of Nobama no less) staged a boycott and called for all inner city students to not go to the first day of school, and instead travel by bus up to a rich north Chicago suburb and try to enroll in the school there.

The point is, this theme stills carries weight here in Chicago.

Not surprising (to those with their eyes/ears open).

Also from 1995, Barack Obama’s comments following Louis Farrakhan’s Million Man March on Washington:

“Historically, African-Americans have turned inward and towards black nationalism whenever they have a sense, as we do now, that the mainstream has rebuffed us, and that white Americans couldn’t care less about the profound problems African-Americans are facing.”

Sound familiar?

Comment by SJ | 2008-10-24 13:55:27

Whit executives don’t want to pay taxes because it will help black kids?? No wonder now he is talking about making the rich pay, Obama feels he is the savior of black people.

This is exactly how he will govern he is going to ensure that the game is even, both he and his wife feels that life has not been fair to blacks especially in America and once he becomes President we will all see his hidden agenda.

The whites he is pandering to now is just for votes because he need them to win, once he has achieved that it will be pay back time, just listen to what he is saying, all this talk of one group suppressing another group man that is frightening stuff, and show quiet well where Obama head is.

Rev. wright – God Damn America, US of KKA, Ridin dirty
Ayers – I am a marxist and believe that the US needs to be destroyed for its imperialist ways
Michelle Obama – for the first time in my adult life, I am proud of my country; clinton needs to watch her “tone.”

Oh yeah, I get it, this is all false for the Obama Kool Aid drinkers…..

Obama is the anti-christ; manchurian candidate who is kenyan born and adopted by indonesia set to destroy the U.S. Constitution, capitalis and any system of checks and balances. When Spike Lee, Farrakhan all pronounce this man as the Messiah, that should give you the hint.

Voters, you know what to do,

It is time to let this 2008 version of the Nat Turner Rebellion end.

Comment by gerard "Barracuda" Nedich | 2008-10-24 13:58:14

So, what was Barack Obama up to when he ran former Weather Underground bomber Bill Ayers’ “education reform” foundation?

Not much good – at least according to the guy in charge of Chicago’s public schools while he was there.

“There was a total lack of accountability” at Obama and Ayers’ Chicago Annenberg Challenge, former city school superintendent Paul Vallas has told The Post. Indeed, “If you went back and asked, you’d be hard-pressed to find out how the money was spent.”

Well, maybe.

As it turns out, the Obama-helmed CAC was directing big bucks toward the propagation – in Chicago public schools – of the whack-job racist ideology most famously preached by Obama’s former pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

That’s the bottom line of research on CAC documents by Stanley Kurtz of the Ethics and Public Policy Center.

For example, the Obama-led foundation funneled more than $200,000 to an outfit called the Coalition for Improved Education in South Shore.

Its mission: training public-school teachers in “Afrocentric” education, a pseudo-scientific movement that (as a trainer brought in with CAC funds put it) rejects Western civilization, and America in particular, as “white supremacist” and seeks to “recover our disrupted ancestral culture.”

Reading, writing and ‘rithmetic this isn’t. All of which gives the lie to Obama’s breezy assertion in last week’s debate that his CAC activities were somehow bipartisan or mainstream.

It also certainly explains why schools chosen for the foundation’s largesse showed no gains in student performance.

Sadly, this latest revelation also casts new light on one of Obama’s finest moments – his candid and hope-filled primary-season address on race in America.

Back then, faced with Rev. Wright’s equally anti-American sermons, he made the plausible case that while his devotion to his pastor was based on 20 years of community involvement, he rejected Wright’s extreme views.

But how can anyone now take that assertion seriously, given that he spent years funding the teaching of those ideas?

Obama & Democrats Move To Seize 401(k) Plans!

According to US News & World Report along with Congressional Records, a House subcommittee is considering the advancement of legislation that would ELIMINATE 401(k) plans and create as an alternative a “Guaranteed Retirement Account” for every worker in the United States. Under the plan, Americans’ existing 401(k) accounts would be transferred into the GRA and would grow at an average yield of around 3%. The subsequent loss of preferential tax treatment among US employers who offer the qualified plans would be used to make a $600 per person government contribution into the plans. In addition, the GRA’s would require a mandatory 5% contribution (tax) by all US workers.

Democratic Congressman Jim McDermott (D-WA) who supports the plan was quoted as saying, “the savings rate isn’t going up for the investment of $80 billion [in 401(k) tax breaks], we have to start to think about whether or not we want to continue to invest that $80 billion for a policy that’s not generating what we now say it should.”

This legislation being considered by Democrats is perhaps the most dangerous proposal put forth by the Democrats to date. The system would essentially create a second Social Security System in which bureaucrats would control the funding, investment and use of the money. The government would control all provisions of the plan, and individual rights for determination of risk reward would be stripped.

Absolutely dangerous. Go back to Lenin’s economic plan when he came into power in Russia. BO and the people that have supported his candidacy want two things–power and control over education, financial institutions, social policies and finally your individual rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness–of course you can have all those things as long as you pledge allegiance to BO and his state. If he walks into that white house that is what is coming–he’s already stated it in his memoirs, in his interviews, in his two decade associations with Marxist anarchists like Ayers, criminals like Rezko and black liberation crazy people like Pfleger, Wright and Farrakhan who will all be entering through the main gates on Pennsylvania Ave. Think it couldn’t happen, he’s votes away. (Oh, and his first order of business moving the WH to Chicago.)

Comment by George Smathers | 2008-10-24 15:22:45

From another article on this very topic:

If the tax deferral goes away, the employers have no reason to do the matches, which primarily help people in the lower income brackets,” Belluardo said.

“This is a battle between liberalism and conservatism,” said Christopher Van Slyke, a partner in the La Jolla, California, advisory firm Trovena, which manages $400 million. “People are afraid because their accounts are seeing some volatility, so Democrats will seize on the opportunity to attack a program where investors control their own destiny,” he said.

http://www.workforce.com/section/00/article/25/83/58.php

Yes, we can not be in control of our own destiny anymore. We must become part of the collective, and become a one party socialist sate under the Democrats. Socialism destroys the prosperity of the low income populace its claims to protect. Socialism causes capital to flee the country, Venezuela is a perfect example. Venezuelan capital has enriched south Florida since Chavez took power.

Apologies, left this out, in re: the notion that BHO has “changed” his politics from so long ago (though there is no actual evidence of any such change, we’ll humor the notion for sake of discussion).

The following is not from 1995 but, rather, from 2004. An interview with the Chicago Sun-Times. See if it sounds like BHO has changed any allegiances. It also demonstrates the breadth and depth of his ties to these people he has now sent to the “Time Out” corner until after the election:

Chicago Sun-Times
April 5, 2004
By: Cathleen Falsani

These days, he says, he attends the 11 a.m. Sunday service at Trinity (United Church of Christ) in the Brainerd neighborhood every week — or at least as many weeks as he is able. His pastor, Wright, has become a close confidant.

Friends and advisers, such as the Rev. Michael Pfleger, pastor of St. Sabina Roman Catholic Church in the Auburn- Gresham community on the South Side, who has known Obama for the better part of 20 years, help him keep that compass set, he says.

Another person Obama says he seeks out for spiritual counsel is state Sen. [and renowned homophobe] James Meeks, who is also the pastor of Chicago’s Salem Baptist Church. The day after Obama won the primary in March, he stopped by Salem for Wednesday-night Bible study.

Thanks, I was wondering what Reverend Manning was saying lately. It’s a good one.

Can you believe the numbers of Muslims world wide who will be allowed into the US? Can you believe he numbers of AA’s from every country who will immigrate? We are being taken over.

We must begin to use the same tactics of positivity and begin to “act as if” McCain is already the winner. Barack is using the methods Oprah has studied for years utilized in “The Secret” and other new age exercises. It can be done here too.

I call him President McCain and VP Sarah Palin. I envision and feel the security we will have when he wins; the corruption that will be weeded out when Sarah gets to work. The peace and satisfaction that will be there when we see our country revitalized.

Does anyone doubt the powerful interests who quake at the thought of this happening? I visualize them in jail for their misdeeds and ripping off the people of the country.

Pastor Manning makes it clear that Obama and his thugs gave lip service to Dr. King but in no way do the AA’s voting for him want color blindness. They want Farrakhan and Wright’s violent plan. And they do want to put anyone else in an oppressive position. This is not civil rights. It’s more hate.

The only ones he helped were his thuggish friends.

It’s only over for BO. He can’t close the deal. The polls are reflecting some imaginary scenario that is not going to pan out. They expect that for some reason there will be twice as many democrats voting then republicans. That will not happen. It will be as it was in 2004 at which point McCain will win big. By something like 10 point margin.

I agree. I take time from here off when I need to.

BUT I also make phone calls for McCain.

It is far from over. McCain is going to win this. Do not fall victim to negative thinking.

Forward!

I think now it’s up to voters. We’ll just have to wait and see.

I think, personally, McCain did a terrific job of getting the issues on the table.

People now need time, the next 10 days, to sort it out for themselves.

I personally won’t be disappointed either way.

I think that the Republican party is in complete disarray. It it completely understandable to me if people vote them out, including McCain.

I personally think that voters should look at the Democrats more closely.I

They are in equal upheaval.

They have turned their backs on many formerly-solid Democratic messages this year.

I think I’m arriving at the place where I realize the government is in as much turbulance as the stock market.

So it’s a mess.

Cheer up! These polls are cooked. Please stop drinking the media koolaid and get out there and fight!!

The corporate controlled media is trying to demoralize voters — don’t buy this b.s.

He has spent $660 million dollars to basically break even with McCain, when McCain has taken public financing and only spent a fraction of that.

Barack can’t close the deal- he could not close in the primaries either — that’s why the cowardly super delegates had to close it for him. Hillary was ahead in the popular vote and they were practically tied in pleged delegated when all was said and done. He can’t get about 50% — in this no lose year for Democrats, that is a sure loser.

Take a page out of the Republican book — they are used to the media trying to demoralize them. They just get out and vote in droves and don’t buy into the b.s. Problem is the disenfranchised Dems who are voting for McCain are not used to being treated like this by the media so they are panicing.

Don’t buy it.

Comment by Indy | 2008-10-24 14:46:39

If the “us” is those of us voting for McCain, I wouldn’t be overwhelmed and depressed at this point. People are afraid to admit they don’t like/don’t trust/won’t vote for Obama. The press and the BO campaign continue to engage in psy-ops to make you feel that he’s already won, and his constant race baiting has caused people to just keep their mouths shut. It isn’t “over” by a long shot.

I absolutely believe the silent majority (because the silent ones are the majority, not political junkies) won’t vote for Obama.

The Crazies:

Protestors infiltrated John McCain’s rally in Denver this morning, interrupted his stump speech with cries to “Endorse Community Choice.” The protestors, according to a CNN crew standing nearby, were advocates for people with disabilities and several were in wheelchairs.

The crowd of several thousand attempted to drown them out by chanting “USA” and “John McCain.”

Still the protestors continued and eventually people started screaming “Throw them out” from the stadium stands.

Security escorted out three. About a minute later, two more were later taken out in wheelchairs.
http://www.politico.com/blogs/jonathanmartin/1008/Awkwardness_in_Denver.html

What a hack martin is. The crowd of thousands “attempted to drown them out.” Like a crowd of thousands couldn’t drown out 5 protestors. There is no hackery to small for the “liberal media.”

One thing Obama does not do. He does not use his own children. They are absolutely sequestered from the public eye except for the rare appearance at the Dem convention. Interesting that he uses other people’s children but not his own.

Obama clearly participated in radical education ideas with Ayres. Go to his web site and look at his education statement. In the second half he talks about “a community service requirement”. It says that federal education allocations to school districts would be made conditional on the district having a community service program for all students.

I think the 401 k proposal outlined above would pretty much finish off the markets. It would be a disaster and the opportunities for looting, bamboozling and the okey doke would be astounding.

Comment by AnninCA | 2008-10-24 14:46:45

I applaud them for keeping the children out of it.

That was the one great gift that Bill and Hillary did for all politicians.

Chealsea grew up and turned into a lovely woman. All of us who are parents must give credit where credit is due.

They scatted off the press.

It’s one thing to let them attack you over your flipping bill for clothes.

It ISN’T OK to attack their kids.

BTW…….I did like Obama’s stance on this. Families are off-limits.

That was honorable.

Comment by gerard "Barracuda" Nedich | 2008-10-24 14:51:55

really? you obviously didn’t see this:

Five days after Obama said families are off limits, Michelle Obama feels it necessary to tell us all that the Obama’s will not have anymore kids because the “presidential race is enough additional responsibility”.

The Obama campaign is telling us that Sarah Palin is unfit to run for VP because she has too many young children. The Obama campaign is afferming and endorsing the sexism that has polluted the MSM, the blogs and the rhetoric of the democratic primary.

This announcement tells America that the Obama campaign has nothing left to stand on, nothing left to offer the voters and that they are truly desperate.

More importantly, it also finally unmasks the true origins of the smears spread about Palin’s daughter, the disgusting lies about Palin’s newly born son and the appalling sexism Americans have had to endure over the last year as nothing more than Obama campaign talking points.
Now we just have to wait for Obama to say, “That is not the Michelle I knew”.

Stop lying! Obama started out saying he wouldn’t expose his children to the Press. Then he changed his mind and exploited the Kids on “Access Hollywood”. The next day Obama said that was a error in JUDGEMENT and he wouldn’t do that again. Obama claims to have Good Judgement, like getting Rezko to help him Buy a Mansion he can’t afford, even though he knew Rezko was being investigated by the FEDS, that was Real Bright

Attorney Philip Berg confirms the existance of a tape from Obama’s paternal Grandmother confirmation that she was in the delivery room in Kenya when Obama was born on Aug 4, 1961.

Berg states that nothing is more important than enforcing the Constitution. The constitutions provisions are ver small for qualifying for President. One, be over 35, and Obama is. Two, be in the country 14 years and he has been, Three, be a natural-born citizen, HE IS NOT.

When Jerome Corsi, senior World Net Daily investigative reporter recently traveled to Kenya to investigate several questions about the candidate, he was told the records were sealed and would not be made available.

If in fact Obama was born in Kenya, the laws on the books in the US at the time of his birth stated if a child is born abroad and one paretn was a US citizen, which would have been his mother, Stanly Ann Dunham,Obama’s mother would have had to live 10 years in the US, 5 of which were after the age of 14. At the time of Obama’s birth his mother was only 18 and therefore did not meet the residency requirements under the law to give her son US citizenship much less the status of Natural Born.

Berg said he believed it also was a complication that Obama’s mother divorced his father, married and moved to Indonesia for several years and Obama attended school there at a time when Berg said only Indonesian citizens were allowed in shcools. Records that are available from Indonesia revealed Obama was registered in school as Barry Seotoro and his religion is listed as Islam.

When Obama later returned to Hawaii, within the US, there should have been a government document affirming his citizenship but that also cannot be found. If that was not process properly Obama would be in a situation even worse than not being a natural born citizen — Berg Said. If he didn’t gto through immigration he is now illegal and has been an illegal alien. He couldn’t even hold the position of Senator for Ill. Berg said he suspected Obama’s college records may indicated he received aid as a foreigner and that’s why those records have been withheld by the campaign.

Berg told Michael Savage, I really think tis because it probably indicates that he’s from Kenya, or Indonesia or received foreign aid. I feel very confident saying these things Berg told Savage.

I had to look it up when I saw that. I got as far reading that it was a 2007 bill sponsored by harkin and obama was a cosponsor. Something about requiring that states provide ‘community-based attendant services and supports for certain Medicaid-eligible individuals.’

The bill went no where. I’m guessing the oborg thought it would be great to get video of disabled people being kicked out of a mccain rally.

Please take a moment to relax. Obama does not have this wrapped up, not by a long chalk.

McCain knows what he’s doing.

He’s holding his fire until it will have the biggest impact.

The last 72 hours is the most important time. Don’t forget it takes Obama three days to come up with a response to McCain’s attacks. If I were McCain I’d have some big guns lined up to coincide with Obama’s TV Hour of of Power.

Be strong!

The tape what I can hear of it sounds real, on dial up and I just get spurts. He has certain odd tones and quirks with words. Especially noted is his way with Pakistan and Afghanistan. It is the odd notes that ring truth it is him. This was taped 13 years ago, so his voice would change some, but not the underlying accent. I am sure voice experts can and will figure this out. Obama is such a fraud.

If he were a true leader, instead of talking, talking, talking in his convoluted intellectual dialogues, ah, as shown in this, ah, video, he would seek out other SUCCESSFUL “community organizers” elsewhere in this great country and set them up as examples of what can be achieved.

I do not believe there are no such success stories in this country. Just because Obama, Rev Wright, Fr Pfleger, and Bill Ayers failed in Chicago does not mean that everyone else did also. Unless, of course, the rest of us have been willfully suppressing and suffocating minorities to the extent that they cannot rise above their circumstances. Or, perhaps, like in Chicago, everybody’s good intentions everywhere are sold out and perverted by corrupt, self-serving politicians.

Comment by Ijane | 2008-10-24 15:55:41

Mercedes said it!

According Eldridge Cleaver, African Americans (like ALL Americans) don’t want a communist wealth redistribution plan. They want jobs!! Wealth redistribution is nothing more then a plan to keep the oppressed oppressed and the corrupt corrupt!!

The slow, deliberate talking and the ‘uhs’ in the tape sounds like Obama’s speech pattern to me.

Comment by Jason | 2008-10-25 01:37:18

I’ve been thinking about the Bradley Effect tonight.

The mainstream media, the Obama campaign and even a lot of pro-McCain pundits seem to be dismissing it this time around, saying that such an effect is likely to be very small these days. The Obama campaign even goes so far as to claim that there will be a reverse Bradley Effect which will mean Obama’s support is actually higher than it is.

But let’s look at these points. First, a reminder that the Bradley effect is not about whites being secretly racist – it’s about whites fearing that others will think them racist even though their rejection of Obama has nothing to do with race and everything to do with policy.

Bradley was running for governor, Obama for the White House. I’m not 100% about this but I suspect that the fear of being labeled a racist is more pronounced this time around because:

1) The Presidency is a far more important position which carries a much greater responsibility than governor and so the unspoken, taboo question of “is a black man up to the job” hangs heavier in the atmosphere. Note that I’m not saying that whites affected by the Bradley Effect are actually worried by that question – rather that they’re worried that others will think that they’re worried about it.

2) This is not the early 80’s, it’s 2008 and the specter of political correctness is far more pronounced. It was a different social environment in 1982 when Bradley ran for governor. TV, for example, featured far fewer black characters and black families. Racist jokes were somewhat more acceptable. There was far less of the kind of racial “witch-hunt” atmosphere that pervades life these days. If you were accused of being a racist it was somewhat less of a big deal. You wouldn’t worry so much about losing your career and being shunned by friends and family. I’m not condoning those times, just making an observation.

3) Aside from the difference in our social environment now, it cannot be denied that the pro-Obama camp has done its bit to make race a far greater issue in this election than in any other election in history in America. Obama has played the race card and indirectly – but obviously – accused those who don’t support him of being racist, as has the rest of his campaign. The mainstream media has done more than its fair share of insinuating that McCain supporters are just racists who won’t vote for a black man. The fear of being labeled a racist is far greater this time.

These factors lead me to believe that not only is the Bradley effect alive and well, but it’s probably more pronounced than it’s ever been.

As for the suggestion by the Obama campaign that a “reverse” Bradley Effect may apply:

Did they even think this through? The suggestion is that many whites are proudly racist – so much so that they’ll say they’re voting for McCain while secretly planning to vote for Obama (because as everyone “knows,” Obama is “better on the economy” and all of those uneducated rednecks are so financially desperate that they’ll grit their teeth and vote for a black man)….

But the Bradley Effect is not about the ways in which people hide their true voting intentions from their peers, it’s about how they hide their true intentions from anonymous pollsters. Does anyone really think that whites are so embarrassed to tell a phone pollster that they’re voting for a black man that they’ll lie and say they’re voting for McCain?

At the end of the day, the proof will be in the pudding and we can only wait and see. But privately I’m thinking that there will be a Bradley Effect in this election – and not only that, I’m hoping there will be. Unashamedly, because it’s not an indictment of the racism of America, rather an indictment of the way in which Americans recognize that racism is shameful.
