The Buck Stops Where, Barack?

In a recurring series of nightmares which sometimes seem to take place in the day when I am awake, I keep thinking about money. Understandable, I guess. Like most Americans, my savings have tanked. I am worried for myself, my family and friends. I am worried for most of the country, actually. Except Barack Obama.

He doesn’t seem to be having a problem. He is a cash cow. Or rather, a whole herd.

I dreamt that I heard Barrack Obama had spent $500 million dollars on his campaign to secure the presidency. Maybe I am off by a few mil. If I am, no doubt some brilliant blogger will help set me straight. I can almost always count on a diligent investigative blogger for the real facts since in the latest chapter of the world gone mad, the New York Times seems to be giving up on actual investigative reporting. At least where Barack Obama is concerned. They are more concerned with the cost of Sarah Palin’s wardrobe or Cindy McCain’s personal trials.

There’s transparency in this election season. But it mostly centers around how many usually reliable mainstream media sources are in the tank for Obama.

But here’s the thing. With this kind of money in the tank, why do I get so many emails from Barack, Michele, Joe, David and Nancy? I get them every day, sometimes several times a day. Sarah Palin had barely walked off the stage at the Vice Presidential debate when I got an email from David about what a great job Joe had done. Send money.

I guess it takes a lot of money to rig an election. All those people to bus in. All those free lunches and dinners. All those homeless or disenfranchised people to pay to register voters and get them to vote the same day when their address or identities can’t be verified. All those ACORN workers and zealous volunteers to tear up McCain and Palin signs, destroy other property and intimidate people. All those bloggers to infiltrate sites promoting freedom of speech, election reform and accountability in the media.

And all that media time to purchase for the much touted upcoming infomercials set to run during sports events.

Yup, fraud, is indeed, expensive.

Money is a sore spot right now. As we witness the collapse of the economy, it seems more obscene than usual that any candidate is spending millions of dollars on the election. So I am confused by the Democrats, my usual party of choice.

How is it that Republican nominee John McCain, along with Democratic Senator Russell Feingold from Wisconsin have pushed for campaign finance reform and not Obama or party leaders like Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid? McCain and Feingold have been talking about campaign finance for a long time. They first introduced their bi-partisan bill in 1995. Talk about tenacity. I wonder what Barack Obama was doing thirteen years ago.

I’m also wondering if Obama is so concerned about the economy and sending a message of unity that we need to work together, why didn’t he head for Washington immediately as a Senator and the current leader of the party when the bail out was on the table? Why did he need to be summoned by the president?

And why isn’t he willing to honor staying within a budget that can be agreed upon by both parties? Was all this work on campaign finance reform for nothing?

I guess fraud is, indeed, expensive. As are below the belt commercials that criticize John McCain for not doing email or that question his life expectancy.

It’s true that John McCain can’t type or raise his arm very high.

Kind of tough to do when you have nerve damage after being tortured in a prisoner of war camp for five and half years.

And it’s true that John McCain has had a recurrence of a kind of skin cancer. It is a commonplace cancer that affects many Americans who go to the doctor, have it taken care of and go about their lives.

But raise the specter of technological incompetence or cancer and you can really get a bang for your buck. Through the magic of television alone, you can suggest that McCain is an old guy who is out of touch. An old guy on the verge of death.

Nice. I guess indecency is also expensive.

As more and more Americans struggle with gas prices, foreclosures and unemployment, it is understandable to want to lash out. For many the obvious target would be the Republicans, since so much of the disaster in our financial world happened under George Bush’s watch. But many Democrats were also asleep at the wheel, or so tied up in angry partisan politics that they refused to participate in substantive discussions and actions to prevent a collapse.

The buck needs to stop somewhere. How misleading that the Democrats, under Nancy Pelosi’s supposed leadership do not want to acknowledge that both parties have played a role in the collapse of the economy. What a poor example that the Democrats and Barack Obama have rejected reasonable campaign finance reform so that they can spends millions upon millions of dollars to promote his candidacy while many hardworking Americans have to choose between filling their plate at dinner time or their gas tank at the pump.

The buck needs to stop somewhere. I’m thinking, Just say No deal.

Thank you for your thoughful analysis. I no longer consider myself a Democrat, for the reasons you cited, and the disgraceful way in which the election was stolen from Hillary Clinton through the fraud and lies of the “one” and his campaign, aided and abetted by a corrupt DNC headed by Howard Dean, and the worst Speaker of the House in the history of the U.S.,Nancy Pelosi.

Comment by FloridaEx-Dem | 2008-10-24 08:38:38

I’m with you. I’m really sick of this whole mess right now. Obama is just an outrage. As a lifelong Democrat, I was disgusted enough with the manner in which they treated HRC and women that not only did we leave the party, we are now registered Republicans.

Now, that’s not to say ANYONE gets a ‘free ride’ as far as I’m concerned. But the DNC is now totally corrupt IMHO and with the Botox Queen as speaker of the house, and Howard Dean as head of the DNC, well, I guess we can see what the DNC has become.

I too get three, four, five emails a day begging for money. Every time I write them back calling them on their hypocrisy. As a matter of fact, this is what I wrote them yesterday (not very nice, I warn you.) They whine every time someone exposes them for the crooks and terrorists they are - then ask for money.

Speaking of VILE - YOU people are vile. I’ve never seen so much whining and begging in my life. You cry every time someone calls your shaky, unfit candidate on his questionable associations and then you beg for more money. What you’ve already raised is obscene, in the face of the poverty in this country and the financial mess your assholes in Congress have continued to try to fund (and I mean Pelosi and Reid).

Shame on you. You’re no better than the Bushbots. Total Low-Class Filth.

In a message dated 10/23/2008 2:54:31 PM Eastern Daylight Time, democraticparty@democrats.org writes:

The Republican National Committee is distributing a mail piece that says “Terrorists” on the front and opens to a big picture of Barack saying “Not Who You Think He Is.”

John McCain — who promised to run a respectful campaign — said that he was “absolutely” proud of it.

Will you take a look at the mailing and make a donation of $5 or more to push back?

Comment by kp1 | 2008-10-24 09:24:25

good heavens, why are they begging for money? didn’t bo raise 150 mil in sept alone?

Comment by FloridaEx-Dem | 2008-10-24 10:25:06

Just a bunch of greedy bastards. Maybe they see the legal challenges on election fraud coming down the road and are padding their accounts for that? Who knows!

It’s my understanding, btw, that if the candidate loses and there’s money still there that’s not been spent, once campaign debts are paid, it’s theirs to do as they wish.

Think Obama is looking at retiring? I mean, it would be the next logical step for a man who’s never worked a single day in his l ife, right?

According to my informal research over the years, it appears that Carter’s administration was the PROTO-STAGE for the New World Order(NWO)with the reorganization of the economy through high interest rates and the first oil “crisis”— all of which began a steady decline in wages and the destruction of domestic industries (who then began to seek cheaper labor elsewhere).

But we’ve definitely been in the NWO since Reagan/Bush whose administration implemented “tickle down economics,” which enriched Wall Street and transnational corporations to obscene levels. Since Reagan, we’ve had an entrenched plutocratic class in this country.

Bush I gave us the Iraq War and admitted that there was a New World Order underway. He never served a second term.

Bill Clinton, unfortunately, gave us NAFTA (i.e. globalization), although his domestic economics did more than his predecessors to benefit Main Street. The balancing of the U.S. budget alone was a huge success, since money could now be spent domestically, rather than on foreign countries who would otherwise finance our national debt (which is now the case).

With GWB, we’re full-on into the NWO with the triumph of the Military Industrial Complex (MIC), the triumph of transnational corporations through cheap labor abroad, and the plundering of our treasury by Wall Street and the predatory corporations.

An Obama presidency, I believe, will be the FINAL STAGE of the NWO, which will be characterized by austerity for main street (a la Carter) and the final milking of domestic resources through PRIVITIZATION schemes. Oh, and he’ll also enrich the MIC through perpetual war.

Once Democrat now I am a Republican, and not just for a day. I have been guilty of being complacent about the actions of both parties. Just didn’t realize that so many of them are totally corrupt. We now stand at a precipice and if we don’t stop our fall on Nov 5th we can say goodbye America hello New World Order.

I used to think that the NWO was just a conspiracy theory. My mind set has changed. Since then I have dropped the word theory.

I find all of the outrage over Sarah Palin’s family’s wardrobe quite amusing in light of the amount of $$ spent by Obama on things like fake Greek columns… What was that, several million? I wonder how much Michelle and Barack have charged to their campaigns for their clothes?

But dontcha know, this is the Obama stimulus plan! Spend half a billion $$, which supports all those poor Acorn workers, set designers, tee-shirt vendors… The economy would collapse without this huge infusion of cash from the Obama campaign!!

Comment by JoseyJ | 2008-10-24 08:57:35

iirc - the cost of moving the convention to the stadium for ONE DAY plus the set designed and erected by the same folks who construct Britney’s sets was $6M.
But hey - it’s THE ONE - and John Kerry says we MUST elect a Black man.

Ummm, since they are ragiing on Sarah’s new clothes, has anyone brought up the fact that MEchelle had a makeover a while back to work on er image? She got new cloths, too. I’d like to see the price tag for that. It would make Mcain/Palin look thrifty!

I was pleasantly surprised to hear Lynn Sweet and one of the male reporters on this morning’s Diane Rehm show defend Palin on this one, saying that both she and her family (the money was spent on all of them) needed clothes for campaigning because they aren’t wealthy. Sweet also pointed out that campaigns spent a lot of money on “visuals” like the Greek columns and this was exactly the same kind of expenditure.

Anyone else suspect that the timing of this “scandal” - right after Biden brought up the truly serious issue of Obama’s inexperience likely causing a serious crisis - is no coincidence. Surely this information did not just get released and it has definitely taken the focus on the extremely important issue that Biden so stupidly brought up. (And pundits think Palin isn’t ready for prime time!!)

I went to Palin’s rally last night in Beaver, PA. She was awesome and the crowd loved her.

I’ve been on a few R websites this week. One commenter was whining about how Palin is ‘divisive.’OMG. Now where have I heard that before? That’s right - HRC was ‘divisive.’ I’m beginning to think that divisive is code for female.

If the R’s think that Palin is so divisive, then who are all of the 20,000 people who attend her rallies? I doubt that they are all Democrats for McCain and PUMA’s.

At the rally last night, the crowd was a complete mix of people, from too young to vote to senior citizens, men, women, veterans, Joe-the-plumbers. You name it. It looked to me like all kinds of people are uniting in their support for McCain/Palin, especially Palin.

Divisive? No. Female? Yes. Vive la femme!

Got this in an email today. This letter was sent to me by someone I would have bet was an Obama voter. So there is still hope.

To Barack Hussein Obama,

The New York Times carried a story on Saturday, October 4, 2008, that proved
you had a significantly closer relationship with Bill Ayers than what you
previously admitted. While the issue of your relationship is of concern, the
greater concern is that you lied to America about it.

The Chicago Sun reported on May 8, 2008, that FBI records showed that you
had a significantly closer relationship with Tony Rezko than what you
previously admitted. In the interview, you said that you only saw Mr. Rezko
a couple of times a year. The FBI files showed that you saw him weekly.
While the issue of your relationship is of concern, the greater concern is
that you lied to America about it.

Your speech in Philadelphia on March 18, 2008, about ‘race’ contradicted
your statement to Anderson Cooper on March 14 when you said that you never
heard Reverend Wright make his negative statements about white America.
While your attendance at Trinity Church for 20 years is of concern, the
greater concern is that you lied to America on March 14.

In your 1st debate with John McCain, you said that you never said that you
would meet with the leaders of Cuba, Venezuela, Iran, and North Korea
without ‘preparations’ at lower levels … Joe Biden repeated your words in
his debate with Sarah Palin … while the video tape from your debate last
February clearly shows that you answered ‘I would’ to the question of
meeting with those leaders within 12 months without ‘any’ preconditions.
While your judgment about meeting with enemies of the USA without
pre-conditions is of concern, the greater concern is that you lied to
America in the debate with McCain.

On July 14, 2008, you said that you always knew that the surge would work
while the video tapes of you from more than=2 0a year ago show that you
stated that the surge would not work. While your judgment about military
strategy as a potential commander-in-chief is of concern, the greater
concern is that you lied to America on July 14.

You now claim that your reason for voting against funding for the troops was
because the bill did not include a time line for withdrawal, while the video
tapes of you from more than a year ago show that you voted against
additional funding because you wanted our troops to be removed immediately
… not in 16 months after the 2008 election as you now claim. While your
judgment about removing our troops unilaterally in 2007 is of concern, the
greater concern is that you lied to America about your previous position.

You claim to have a record of working with Republicans while the record
shows that the only bill that you sponsored with a Republican was with Chuck
Lugar … and it failed. The record shows that you vote 97% in concert with
the Democrat party and that you have the most liberal voting record in the
Senate. You joined Republicans only 13% of the time in your votes and those
13% were only after agreement from the Democrat party. While it is of
concern that you fail to include conservatives in your actions and that you
are such a liberal, the greater concern is that you distorted the truth.

In the primary debates of last February, 2008, you claimed to have talked
with a ‘Captain’ of a platoon in Afghanistan ‘the other day’ when in fact
you had a discussion in 2003 with a Lieutenant who had just been deployed to
Afghanistan. You lied in that debate.

In your debates last spring, you claimed to have been a ‘professor of
Constitutional law’ when in fact you have never been a professor of
Constitutional law. In this last debate, you were careful to say that you
‘taught a law class’ and never mentioned being a ‘professor of
Constitutional law.’ You lied last spring.

You and Joe Biden both claimed that John McCain voted against additional
funding for our troops when the actual records show the opposite. You
distorted the truth.

You and Joe Biden claim that John McCain voted against funding for alternate
energy sources 20 times when the record shows that John McCain specifically
voted against funding for bio fuels, especially corn …. and he was right
…. corn is too expensive at producing ethanol, and using corn to make
ethanol increased the price of corn from $2 a bushel to $6 a bushel for
food. You distorted the truth.

You and Joe Biden claim that John McCain voted like both of you for a tax
increase on those making as little as $42,000 per year while the voting
record clearly shows that John McCain did not vote as you and Joe Biden. You
lied to America.

You and Joe Biden claim that John McCain voted with George W. Bush 90% of
the time when you know that Democrats also vote 90% of the time with the
President (including Joe Biden) because the vast majority of the votes are
procedural. You are one of the few who has not voted 90% of the time with
the president because you have been missing from the Senate since the day
you got elected. While your absence from your job in the Senate is of
concern, the greater concern is that you spin the facts.

You did not take an active role in the rescue plan. You claimed that the
Senate did not need you while the real reason that you abstained was because
of your close relationships with the executives of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac,
Countrywide, and Acorn … who all helped cause the financial problems of
today … and they all made major contributions to your campaign. While your
relationship with these executives and your protection of them for your
brief 3 years in the Senate (along with Barney Frank, Chuck Schumer, Maxine
Waters, and Chris Dodd) is of concern, the greater concern is that you are
being deceitful.

You forgot to mention that you personally represented Tony Rezko and Acorn.
Tony Rezko, an Arab and close friend to you, was convicted of fraud in
Chicago real estate transactions that bilked millions of tax dollars from
the Illinois government for renovation projects that you sponsored as a
state senator … and Acorn has been convicted of voter fraud, real estate
sub prime loan intimidation, and illegal campaign contributions. Tony Rezko
has contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to your political
campaigns. You personally used your political positions to steer money to
both Tony Rezko and Acorn and you used Acorn to register thousands of phony
voters for Democrats and you. While your relationships with Rezko and Acorn
are of concern, the greater concern is that you omitted importan t fact s
about your relationships with them to America.

During your campaign, you said: ‘typical white person.’ ‘They cling to their
guns and religion.’ ‘They will say that I am black.’ You played the race
card. You tried to label any criticism about you as racist. You divide
America.

You claim that you will reduce taxes for 95% of America, but you forgot to
tell America that those reductions are after you remove the Bush tax
reductions. You have requested close to $1 billion in earmarks and several
mill ion for Acorn. Your social programs will cost America $1 trillion per
year and you claim that a reduction in military spending ($100 billion for
Iraq) can pay for it. While your economic plan of adding 30% to the size of
our federal government is of concern, the greater concern is that you are
deceiv ing America.

The drain to America’s economy by foreign supplied oil is $700 billion per
year (5% of GDP) while the war in Iraq is $100 billion (less than 1% of
GDP). You voted against any increases to oil exploration for the last 3
years and any expansion of nuclear facilities. Yet today, you say that you
have always been for more oil and more nuclear. You are lying to America.

Mr. Obama, you claimed that you ‘changed’ your mind about public financing
for your campaign because of the money spent by Republican PACs in 2004. The
truth is that the Democrat PACs in 2004, 2006, and 2008 spent twice as much
as the Republican PACs (especially George Soros and MoveOn.org). You are
lying to America.

Mr. Obama, you have done nothing to stop the actions of the teachers union
and college professors in the USA. They eliminated religion from our
history. They teach pro gay agendas and discuss sex with students as young
as first grade. They bring their personal politics into the classrooms. They
disparage conservative s. They brainwash our children. They are in it for
themselves ….. not America. Are you reluctant to condemn their actions
because teachers/professors and the NEA contribute 25% of all money donated
to Democrats and none to Republicans? You are deceiving America.

Oh, Mr. Obama, Teddy Roosevelt said about a hundred years ago that we
Americans should first look at the character of our leaders before anything
else. Your character looks horrible. While you make good speeches,
motivating speeches, your character does not match your rhetoric. You talk
the talk, but do not walk the walk.

1. You lied to America. You lied many times. You distorted facts. You parsed
your answers like a lawyer.

2. You distorted the record of John McCain in your words and in your
advertisements.

3. You had associations with some very bad people for your personal
political gains and then lied about those associations.

4. You divide America about race and about class.

Now let me compare your record of lies, distortions, race baiting, and
associations to John McCain: War hero. Annapolis graduate with ‘Country
first.’ Operational leadership experience like all 43 previously elected
presidents of the USA as a Navy officer for 22 years. 26 years in the
Senate. Straight talk. Maverick. 54% of the time participated on bills with
Democrats. Never asked for an earmark. The only blemish on his record is his
part in the Keating 5 debacle about 25 years ago.

Mr. Obama, at Harvard Law School, you learned that the end does not justify
the means. You learned that perjury, false witness, dishonesty, distortion
of truth are never tolerated. Yet, your dishonesty is overwhelming. Your
dishonesty is tremendously greater than the dishonesty that caused the
impeachment and disbarment of Bill Clinton. Your dishonesty is tremendously
greater than the dishonesty of Scooter Libby. You should be ashamed.

Mr. Obama, it is time for us Americans to put aside our differences on
political issues and vote against you because of your dishonest character.
It is time for all of us Americans to put aside our political issues and
vote for America first. It is time for America to vote for honesty.

Any people who vote for you after understanding that you are dishonest
should be ashamed of themselves for making their personal political issues
more important than character. Would these same people vote for the
anti-Christ if the anti-Christ promised them riches? Would they make a
golden calf while Moses was up the mountain? Would they hire some one for a
job if that someone lied in an interview? Of course not. So why do some of
these people justify their votes for you even though they know you are
dishonest? Why do they excuse your dishonesty? Because some of these people
are frightened about the future, the economy, and their financial security
…. and you are preying on their fears with empty promises …. and because
some (espe cially our young people) are consumed by your wonderful style and
promises for ‘change’ like the Germans who voted for Adolf Hitler in 1932.
The greed/envy by Germans in 1932 kept them from recognizing Hitler for who
he was. They loved his style. Greed and envy are keeping many Americans from
recognizing you … your style has camouflaged your dishonesty …. but many
of us see you for who you really are …. and we will not stop exposing who
you are every day, forever if it is necessary.

Mr. Obama, you are dishonest. Anyone who votes for you is enabling
dishonesty.

Mr. Obama, America cannot trust that you will put America first in your
decisions about the future.

Mr. Obama, you are not the ‘change’ that America deserves. We cannot trust
you.

Mr. Obama, You are not ready and not fit to be commander-in-chief.

Mr. Obama, John McCain does not have as much money as your campaign to
refute all of your false statements. And for whatever reasons, the
mainstream media will not give adequate coverage or research about your
lies, distortions, word parsing, bad associations, race baiting, lack of
operational leadership experience, and generally dishonest character. The
media is diverting our attention from your relationships and ignoring the
fact that you lied about those relationships. The fact that you lied is much
more important than the relationships themselves …. just like with Bill
Clinton and Richard Nixon … Monica Lewinski and Watergate were not nearly
as bad as the fact that those men lied about the events … false witness
… perjury … your relationships and bad judgments are b ad on their own
…. but your lies are even worse.

Therefore, by copy of this memo, all who read this memo are asked to send it
to everyone else in America before it is too late. We need to do the job
that the media will not do. We need to expose your dishonesty so that every
person in America understands who you really are before election day.

Mr. Obama, in a democracy, we get what we deserve. And God help America if
we deserve you.

Comment by Wiley | 2008-10-24 11:59:37

WOW! Thanks for posting this!
I have forwarded it to everyone on my email list.
However, I did make one minor change.

Instead of “To Barack Hussein Obama” I changed it to read, “To Senator Barack Obama.”

One of the most powerful aspects of this letter is everything is fact based (Yes, I realize the Hussein IS his middle name). It does not come out as a smear in anyway and avoids all of the speculation that many here at NQ are on board with, myself included.

There is one point in the letter I’m not sure is accurate, and making everything ‘factcheckable’
is vital.

“Your social programs will cost America $1 trillion per
year…”

It is my understanding that 0bama’s programs (welfare) will cast a trillion dollars over ten years. Can anyone here confirm this?

This election will come down to the undecided voters, and I believe it is imperative to take the highroad from here on out. Let’s face it, NOTHING sticks to this creep! Imaging if John McCain had started out his political career as a member of the New Party. Every article about McCain in the MSM would benign with, ‘Former Socialist Party Senator John McCain…’ Argghh!

But I digress…
Share this letter with everyone you know!

Comment by Disgusted | 2008-10-24 12:06:52

I agree about the middle name. We are trying to get a point across, not to make an issue of his middle name. If I had thought about it, I would have removed it too.

It’s ironic as hell that Barky had those greek coulmns and temple settings because this truly is a greek drama. Obama, the fatally flawed figure, torn up inside by the psychosis of not knowing who his father is, and weird relationships with his mother figures. He and his followers engage in an orgy of cult worship, but in the end he flys too close to the sun and his wings melt.

Obama is spiraling toward earth in flames as we speak. I think it’s over. O is for over.

I agree, Obama mom was definitely a weirdo, then the man he says is his dad abandons him, and he names a book after him!! The grandma who raised him gets tossed aside as a typical white woman.

Very dysfunctional.

Now Mayor Daley is demanding Obama’s campaign reimburse Chicago for the $2 million in costs for Obama’s election night defeat party:

A huge stage is being constructed in Chicago’s Grant Park, where Obama hopes to declare victory before a cheering throng that could dwarf the one at the Democratic convention. Back then, “only” 80,000 fans were in attendance that night. This time, it could be hundreds of thousands in the park and its surroundings — closer to Berlin in July than Denver in August.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports the price tag of the fanfare has been pegged at $2 million, to be picked up by the Obama campaign. Mayor Richard Daley reportedly suggested Obama use a cheaper venue, but was turned down.

Please keep in mind that this could be a celebration of his historic candidacy, not his victory. Don’t see this as a sealing in victory. Yes we know HE sees it that way, but we don’t have to.

He is not the “buck stops here” kind of guy. When have we seen him take responsibility for anything? There is not much good in the way of accomplishments that he can take credit for but there is plenty to suggest that he is no leadership material. He is a coward, he is a wimp, he is a whiner, the “present” guy.

Comment by John Smith | 2008-10-24 08:38:17

BO will blame anybody for anything so that he does not have to take any blame.

Comment by Thinker | 2008-10-24 11:06:53

exactly.
He blames everyone but himself, and I see Hillary’s actions as making sure that he doesn’t try to place the blame on her, because I know that Obama is not going to win this election. The people in his campaign will play the race card, and try to blame someone, anyone except BS.

The Buck Stops…. with …. Biden. Obama specifically said that he was drafting Biden for VP for the times when he and us will have a crisis because he has had 35 years experience in the Senate.

Lets just hope that Biden comes out and gives a press conference and spills the beans and tell the American public the truth and nothing but the truth. That the Democratic Party is the main culprit by empowering ACORN to intimidate the financial markets and by enabling Freddie and Fannie to create unsafe mortgage products.

We need to ask Obama to allow Biden to say what should be the U.S. and Congress to do to solve this problems we are in.

The figure of $49.2 million is usually tossed around as the amount that funded the CAC. Actually, the $49.2 million that the Annenberg Challenge gave had to be matched by an equal amount in private funds and an equal amount in public monies: i.e., three times $49.2 million.

As head of the board, Obama was responsible for the disbursement of that money. What I want to know is who and what got that money. I haven’t seen any detailed description of that. What I do know is that the money was spent and there was nothing to show for it since CAC schools did slightly worse on standardized tests than non-CAC schools. If this is the education reform that Ayers is responsible for, then why is he lauded by some academics? CAC was a failure.

Paul Vallas should have been elected Governor of Illinois, but he was honest and not a part of the bipartisan Illinois “Combine” of corrupt politicians, so he had no big wheels at his back and we got stuck with Blagojevich, the next inhabitant of the Illinois Governors’ wing at the Federal Penitentiary. Patrick Fitzgerald is the first U.S. Attorney we have had in Illinois who didn’t come up through the “Combine”, so he is a very busy man. He came to the state from Ney York where he had successfully prosecuted some of the earlier World Trade Center bombers and assorted mobsters.

Joan of Art, you should be reassured that Barack Obama picked as his running mate a candidate that has the experience - 35 good years in the Senate - to be able to give you peace of mind and that the Obama administration has the depth of field in Joe Biden to tackle successfully financial crisis like the one we are having today.

After all, Biden is experienced in foreign affairs.

So if you feel insecure about your savings and the financial future of the U.S. you should be getting on the phone with your House Representative to demand that Obama allows Biden to have a press conference so that he can let everyone know what to do.

Those who have voted for Obama can rest assured that Biden will give Obama perfect solutions for imperfect times.

NO ONE KNOWS WHEN THEIR TIME WILL COME, BUT FOR SURE IT WILL TO ALL OF US -SOMEDAY. Obamas people are predicting, that McCain will die before the end of His term, well why no one is attacking Obama for a such ugly and rude ideas. Palin spens 150.000 for clothing, but Obama is blowing over 500 millions, and this is ok??? Obama is not buying His suits from 2nd hand stores, and not to mention Michelle or Hillary and Bill and Biden and His wife. They are buying the best and no one is questioning them.

No qualification required. And even though the evidence is there of fraud and corruption of all sorts, the money just keeps pouring in to Obama and orgs. like ACORN. Meanwhile we all just have to grin and bear [it] so Obama can fly around in his shiney new plane and his wife can eat $500 snacks, and the government can purchase a TRILLION dollars of bad debt which Obama and the DO NOTHING CONGRESS helped create. It’s an awful feeling knowing we are all helping to pay for Obama’s campaign costs. Your Tax dollars at work for the New Party Socialists of America.

The Democrats in charge right now are completely without character and integrity. They lie to the American people time and time again and take absolutely no responsibility for their actions.

If anyone voting Democrat this year thinks they have your best interests or the country’s best interests at heart, you need to think again. They’re power hungry fools and their agenda will ruin this country. We’ll be lucky if we ever get it back again after they’re finished, and it’s absolutely disgraceful that they may just get away with it..thanks mostly to the msm.

Obama Race Baiting Interview From 1995 Revealed, Will Media Ignore?
By John Stephenson | October 24, 2008 - 00:16

Listen to this audio from a 1995 interview where Obama says a blatant race baiting statement implying that whites don’t want to pay taxes to inner city children for them to go to school. The interview is full of defense on Obama’s socialistic views on taxation, and other controversial remarks.

He compares the plight of African Americans to the ethic genocide’s of Bosnia and Africa. He blames all of African American’s problems on “One Group” who suppresses them. And He says white people don’t want their taxes to help black children.

I think that whether you are a white executive living out in the suburbs, who doesn’t want to pay taxes to inner-city children for them to go to school, or you’re an inner-city child who doesn’t want to take responsibility for keeping your street safe and clean, both of those groups have to take some responsibility if we’re going to get beyond the kinds of divisions that we face right now.

Comment by lark | 2008-10-24 09:21:06

Michelle has never been proud of America. But she will be when the rich are made to pay reparations and the inner city kids will be drafted into a socialist youth army and assigned to clean the streets.

Not to worry, Jeffry Immelt has his network all over this. It’ll be on all the news just as soon as they get through vetting that women who allegedly got carved with a “B”. They’ll let us know if Our President was born in this country, if he legally changed his nationality back after living in Indonesia, and if the reason the media helps him conceal his records from the public is because they would prove beyond any doubt that he is not Constitutionally qualified for office.

By Charles Krauthammer
Friday, October 24, 2008; A19

“The case for McCain is straightforward. The financial crisis has made us forget, or just blindly deny, how dangerous the world out there is. We have a generations-long struggle with Islamic jihadism. An apocalyptic soon-to-be-nuclear Iran. A nuclear-armed Pakistan in danger of fragmentation. A rising Russia pushing the limits of revanchism. Plus the sure-to-come Falklands-like surprise popping out of nowhere.
Who do you want answering that phone at 3 a.m.? A man who’s been cramming on these issues for the past year, who’s never had to make an executive decision affecting so much as a city, let alone the world? A foreign policy novice instinctively inclined to the flabbiest, most vaporous multilateralism (e.g., the Berlin Wall came down because of “a world that stands as one”), and who refers to the most deliberate act of war since Pearl Harbor as “the tragedy of 9/11,” a term more appropriate for a bus accident?
Or do you want a man who is the most prepared, most knowledgeable, most serious foreign policy thinker in the United States Senate? A man who not only has the best instincts but has the honor and the courage to, yes, put country first, as when he carried the lonely fight for the surge that turned Iraq from catastrophic defeat into achievable strategic victory?
There’s just no comparison. Obama’s own running mate warned this week that Obama’s youth and inexperience will invite a crisis — indeed a crisis “generated” precisely to test him. Can you be serious about national security and vote on Nov. 4 to invite that test?
And how will he pass it? Well, how has he fared on the only two significant foreign policy tests he has faced since he’s been in the Senate?”

Early on voters are open to hype and image and rah rah and greek temples. In his “redistribution of wealth” theory, shouldn’t Obama give McCain some of his campaign money? That would be the example we need and show he is a fair person, patriotic even, caring for those who do not earn as much. Did he not say early on he would take public financing and lie about it and change his mind when it suited him. I don’t see Obama giving up his house that he got a sweet deal on from Rezko, returning the savings he got back to the public. He is spending massive amounts of the taxpayers money for his pleasure and the NY Times is crying about Palin’s wardrobe which was bought by the RNC and will be donated to charity. Not that is matters, Palin ran for office in Alaska wearing a warm up suit. Obama wears very expensive suits and no one says a word. The massive amounts of money Obama is spending on his campaign would be best given to those in need, especially in today’s financial crisis. Obama has already lost his way and is not the person we need right now to be president. Not one word about paying down the enormous debt, only more spending spending spending.

It only “doesn’t matter” if you’re playing with monopoly money. Of course, they’re playing with Other People’s Money, tax money, our money. Here’s the deal. Trillions go to bail out the top. Eventually, the money will trickle down on us. That will be “inflationary” and will be “squeezed out” of the economy.

I don’t know how to bring this about, but there is a simple dynamic that could bring about the defeat of Obama. The women’s vote in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Florida are the answer. They supported Hillary in the primary. A large number of these women became PUMA’S and for good reasons wanted to defeat Obama. Now the internal polls are saying that these women have deserted McCain in droves. Why? Its the economy everyone says, but why if Obama was so inexperienced and so unqualified before the crisis, how did he improve so dramatically? He did not improve and someone needs to figure out how to get to these women and bring them back. I know some of us do not like to hear this, but Hillary campaigning for Obama turned many of these women around!

Not me, and not a lot of people I know. McCain will win OH, FL and PA.

I am not sure I believe these polls. So many of them have been cooked.

You should think long and hard about economics. Many of you may be out of a job in the next year.

Focusing on Ayers or Palin’s wardrobe is not doing the nation any good.

You should think about how we got here and who can really take the nation out of this mess.

and that is NOT obama, Mike.

The obscene amount of money raised and spent by Obama provides another blatant example of media bias. The press about these huge sums is very positive for Obama, stressing what a great fundraiser he is. I haven’t seen anyone in the MSM talk about what’s really happening - the buying of the presidency.

I am in Florida, I would have voted for Hillary, but as a Democrat this year I support McCain/Palin

I can’t vote for Obama, he is evil, deceitful, hateful, hates women, and never admits when he is wrong or accepts responsibility. And I don’t want Democrat president and Democrat controlled congress.

We already have a president who won’t admit when he is wrong or accept responsibility now. We don’t need another one.

And I do believe John McCain, will do a good job and work for we the people. I believe he wants to go down a great president of the people (at least that is the impression I get, I believe John has the ideas and plans to get our country on track.
