Hannity sucks. I’ll give him all the credit in the world for being about the only MSM guy currently drawing attention to Obama’s odious associations - but the fact remains, the guy cannot debate to save his life and constantly lets Colmes and his pro-Obama guests walk all over him.

His only quality during debate is that he’s good at expressing indignation and outrage. But when Colmes and friends rebut him and say “yeah, you say that, but what about XYZ..?” Hannity doesn’t respond to the argument but instead changes the subject to something he’s good at ranting about.

He did it tonight. I just got finished watching - I almost turned him off.

They were talking about the LA Times tape and Obama’s friendship with Rashid Khalidi, which appears to be a close one (dinners together, kids go to school together, Obama wrote of their many long discussions which caused him to “rethink his own prejudices, etc).

Colmes and that guy from NPR (I forget his name) kept pointing out that McCain headed a group which gave a $500,000 grant to Rashid Khalidi. How did Hannity react? He just cranked up the outrage and changed the subject to Pastor Wright and Ayers. And the Obamabots just laughed at him for avoiding the issue. Hannity is such a FAILURE at debate.

The Republicans he invites on to take part in the discussion are equally lame too. The one he had on tonight - don’t recall his name - was exactly the same as Hannity. Ranted about Obama’s “questionable associations” but when Colmes asked him if it was OK for McCain to give a grant to Rashid Khalidi, he just spluttered and said “well I don’t know the details of that.”

Result? Anyone undecideds watching immediately think Hannity and the Repubs are full of crap and that McCain is a hypocrite. Hannity made no attempt to argue the point - a win for Colmes, as usual.

He could of course have pointed out that Khalidi was just one of many founders of the organization, that he had little or nothing to do with the day to day running of it and that it was not a mouthpiece for Khalidi. It was an organization which was founded and run by many people with no terrorist or anti-Israel ties whatsoever, and Khalidi just happened to be a founder too. Contrast the tenuous link between McCain and Khalidi to the friendship between Khalidi and Obama. Did McCain have “many dinners” with him? Did they discuss topics “long into the night?” Did McCain say that Khalidi had “changed his views?” NO! Yet Hannity didn’t know enough to make this argument at all, he just made it look as though Colmes and friends were making a valid point and thus that it is a non-issue which the McCain campaign is stupid for pursuing.

Honestly, I just want to reach into the TV and slap Hannity sometimes. Ditto many other Republicans who are doing such a bad job of debating Obamabots on TV.
