Birds on a Wire
By Pat Racimora on October 31, 2008 at 3:30 AM in Bill Ayers, Emil Jones, Father Michael Pfleger, Obama, Tony Rezko
“You are known by your friends” is a sturdy old saw with a lot of wisdom in it. It’s one thing to buddy up, only to quickly find out that this person violates your deeply-held values about right and wrong and quickly exit the relationship. It’s quite another to know exactly who such people are, and still keep them close by until it is no longer to one’s own advantage to hang on to them.
We know about Obama’s long-term relationships with anti-white religious leaders, unrepentant home-grown terrorists, and a sleazy slumlord who was a major backer and fundraiser for Obama who now sits in prison on multiple sustained charges. We hear less about the bird on the far right, Emil Jones. So let me reprise some amazing quotes from an article about Obama’s “toxic mentors” from March of 2008.
For almost a year Jones has used his position as leader of the state senate to block anticorruption legislation passed unanimously by the state’s lower house. He has also become embroiled in ethical controversies concerning his wife’s job and his stepson’s business.
Obama has often described Jones as a key political mentor whose patronage was crucial to his early success in a state long dominated by near-feudal party political machines. Jones, 71, describes himself as Obama’s “godfather” and once said: “He feels like a son to me.”
At one point during Obama’s 2003 Senate campaign, Jones set out to woo two African-American politicians miffed by Obama’s presumption and ambition. One of them, Rickey “Hollywood” Hendon, a state senator, had scoffed that Obama was so ambitious he would run for “king of the world” if the position were vacant. When Jones secured the two men’s support, Obama asked his mentor how he had pulled it off. “I made them an offer,” Jones said in mock-Mafioso style. “And you don’t want to know.”
Jones is now at the centre of a long row over his attempt to block proposed laws cracking down on his state’s “pay-to-play” tradition – whereby companies hoping to win government contracts have to contribute to the campaign funds of officials.
Jones scares me. Conjures up Tony Soprano. And except for Jones, this avian lineup has by now been exposed in the blogs if not sufficiently in the main stream media. (I ran out of wire space or I could have drawn in a few more). So it continues to surprise many of us that Obama’s long-term relationships with some alarming birds doesn’t seem to phase a lot of people. I think Bud White’s recent post here explains why the best. The Republican Bush years have been so disastrous that many will take anything else without a close look—and the charismatic Obama and his handlers took full advantage of these fears. But, what would we actually be getting instead?

you forgot Rev. Meeks the nutjob homophobe…

“… raise the cap on the amount of income subject to the Social Security tax. If we kept the payroll tax rate exactly the same but applied it to all earnings and not just the first $97,500, we could virtually eliminate the entire Social Security shortfall.” – Op-Ed by Barack Obama, Quad City Times, Sep., 2007
Obama is on the record on this, both verbally in a debate, and in writing in his Op-Ed.

Rashid Khalidi
I don’t think Pat forgot the others, as she said there is nowhere enough room on the wire to include everyone in the flock of bad men. She’s outlined others in previous cartoons (see Rove and the Candy Shop) but they do keep coming out of the woodwork!
I’ve asked and asked for someone to name one single hhonorable or reputable person from his past who has influenced or mentored him and to date, no one has been named. They just don’t exist.
He also has nothing good to say about any of the women in his life. If you notice, from athletes to movie stars and most politicians, famous people pay tribute to their mothers and/or grandmothers — not Soertoro/Obama. From his autobiography you would think he was raised on an island with a group of guys like The Lord of the Flies.
Speaking of friends from the middle east Khalidi is not the only questionable friend…..Today on Fox and Friends Ann Coulter claimed that barry’s education was paid for by a Saudi prince…who is THIS good friend ?? Does anyone know who he is and if it’s true..We could then add him to this list. I hope that comes out also if true….Some parents do not pay for their child’s education..Why???? would a Saudi prince pay for his????????WHY?????
I believe it is the guy in Texas who was involved with his education- yes an arab.
But why did he do it…Do you know his name???
and no one even MENTIONS all of the perhaps scary or dangerous friends & mentors & associates that FIST BUMP MICHELLE might have up her sleeve.
I know, guys. I ran out of wire space.
fantastic picture though Pat (as always)
just perfect!
Thanks

Pat, darn folks moving the goal post again?
I think the Who have the best answer to your question:
The murky, shady, nefarious characters shadowing Senator Obama may have different bank accounts than the ones who have lurked in President Bush’s shadow, but the results will be the same. Money will be funneled into those bank accounts faster than the interest is growing on the deficit and the economic collapse of the Fall of ‘08 will look like a booming economy in another four years.
New boss, new set of crooks – same as the old boss and the old set of crooks.

While the Who and Zeppelin are fighting it out and announcing retirements and reunions, the Stones who have always kept their nose to the grindstone will roll by and take the prize.

Here’s one for all you Obama-nazi’s to think about.
Dear voters,
“Today’s economic system is for the exploitation of the middle class, with its unfair salaries, with its unseemly evaluation of people according to wealth and property instead of responsibility and performance, and I am determined to change this system under my Presidency.” Here’s a question did Barrack Obama say that? Ironically, yes he did, but do you know who said it first?

Adolf Hitler- His exact words were-
“We are socialists, we are enemies of today’s capitalistic economic system for the exploitation of the economically weak, with its unfair salaries, with its unseemly evaluation of a human being according to wealth and property instead of responsibility and performance, and we are all determined to destroy this system under all conditions.” –Adolf Hitler
(Speech of May 1, 1927.)
Remember the past so we don’t repeat the same mistakes.
Look at all the other parallels between the two.
They both had questionable ties to Raciest, Terrorist, and criminals. Adolf Hitler was not German he was Austrian. Obama may not be a US Citizen he may be an Indonesian Citizen. There are too many similarities. Hitler’s Campaign slogan was “Think Different, think Change!” Obama’s is ” Change you can count on.” Their speeches like their lives seem to almost paraphrase each others. Hitler’s Book “MIEN KUMPH” (My Struggle) part one, Tell of his struggles against racial injustice, as does all of Barrack Obama’s books. Part two (were he laid out his plans to eradicate the Jews) was released after he was made Prime Minister, will Obama’s part two come out. When later asked why they supported Hitler Members of the Jewish Workers Party said ” We had no inclination he was capable of this sort of thing!” At least when we are all rounded up into concentration camps I will be able to say- I told you so!

He can get the money from Obama.
My husband took a call from the “democrats” asking for money for the down ticket candidates — he told them to forget it.
We donate directly to candidate NOT filtered through the Obamacrat/Chicago political machine. I wonder how much of that money went to down ticket democrats — his brother also sent a plea to send funds to the democrats — again my bet is that those funds were being mainlined to Obama.
Too bad you sucker Democrats working for Obama — too bad. Find another line of work. I don’t care about Obamacrats.
Call people racists — and we will remember. My family roots go back to Pennsylvania — many generations. Scots Irish and Quaker. Stubborn folks and they are NOT racist — you call my Pennsylvania relatives racist — and you’ve got some pissed off Scots Irish (and some German) who have very long memories.
Sometimes ex-Marines can be very dense — I say this as a Navy brat who grew up on military bases where the dumbest of human beings were often the Marines. But there is a long rivalry between the military branches which non-military types never quite understand. We grew up believing that the Navy was the best — Now Hear This — that’s Navy talk.

Possibly. However, the Kennedy family split their support between Senators Clinton and Obama. I haven’t seen the ones who backed Senator Clinton come out in support of Senator Obama since June, but then I haven’t paid much attention to the East Coast. Caroline Kennedy and Sen. Ted Kennedy were out in front for the ones supporting Senator Obama. Ms. Kennedy did her job in choosing his running mate and since the Convention at least in the media opted for a low profile – which isn’t unusual for her. Senator Kennedy is preoccupied with his health.
If the Kennedy’s who opted for Senator Obama have had second thoughts, I think we would have heard some rumors. I think it’s more likely the Obama campaign decided the Clinton name would go further than the Kennedy name in getting Senator Obama elected.

I forgot to add this – one of the most important parts. The article is very long and this part is at the end.
“Are you sitting down? Make sure you are not drinking any kind of beverage when you read the next part. This is where Barack Obama is more than likely going if he were to be elected, and this is the part that needs to be blogged everywhere. This is the future staring us in the face. Do Not Look At Barack’s Record – Look At Nancy’s.
Taxes: In March 2000 Pelosi voted NO on $46 billion in tax cuts for small businesses. In April 2001 she voted NO on eliminating the “death tax.” The following month, she voted against a tax cut package of $958 billion over 10 years. In October 2001 she voted NO on a $99 billion economic stimulus package. In April 2002 she voted against making President Bush’s 2001 tax cuts permanent. In May 2004 she voted against making permanent an increase in the child tax credit. In September 2004 she voted NO on providing a series of tax relief measures. In December 2005 she voted against retaining reduced tax rates on capital gains and dividends.”
Thanks for posting those numbers…Pelosi and the Democratic congress we already know, since being in control of Congress the past 2 years has tanked the economy. Most of them are knee deep in Fannie and Freddie or said they were fine and would do nothing. That it was a smear campaign against black CEO, Franklin Raines. See a pattern here?? No accountability, it always goes back to playing the victim.
By the way everyone, don’t know how reliable it is, but early voting polls say McCain is ahead of Obama by 4 points in Florida. I hope McCain not only turns some blue states Red, I hope he beats Obama so badly that it will send a CLEAR MESSAGE far and wide, that American will not be taken hostage. We stand for liberty, freedom and justice. Not Socialism, not redistribution of wealth. You work hard, make your own way and keep your nose clean. If you get in trouble you take responsibility for your actions. I am sick and tired of people w their hand out and blaming someone else for their lot in life. Don’t like it, do something about it.
Well meaning wishes, but there will be no change with libdems in Congress, and a lot of people now blogging on this site helped put them there.

Each of the birds have connections to other birds and those to other birds.
The real Barack Obama — has an interesting article about the web of connections and links of one of the birds on the wire — the Rev. Wright and the far left. Of course we know that Rev. Wright lives what he preaches (yep in his million $$ mansion in a gated community on a golf course.)
We keep returning to that Black Liberation Theology (racism) and Obama’s 20 year association with Rev. Wright and how the Rev. is like part of Obama’s family (the blah blah sermon that Obama gave on race “relations” and racism.)

The woman running against Pelosi has had her campaign hq attacked:
SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 30 /PRNewswire/ — Just 5 days before the election, at 3a.m. on October 30th, all of the front windows of the Cindy Sheehan for Congress campaign offices were shattered. Although staffers had been in the office less than an hour earlier, no one was in the building at the time of the incident. No one was hurt and there were no witnesses. Cindy Sheehan is a candidate for Congress in California’s 8th Congressional District race against incumbent Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).
“It seems to have been a calculated intimidation tactic,” said Tiffany Burns, the Cindy for Congress campaign manager. “One of our computers was stolen, but no other property was taken from our offices and no surrounding buildings were targeted. Clearly they wanted to both frighten us and to gather information.” Total damage to the campaign office is currently estimated at more than $5,000.
The Cindy for Congress campaign recently chronicled a series of unusual events, including other threats of violence, in a statement issued on October 13th. In that statement, Cindy Sheehan noted “[t]he past few weeks have been a little strange at Cindy for Congress [...] the things that have been happening could just be coincidences, or a run of bad luck, but the climate for the possibility of campaign hanky-panky certainly exists.”
Campaign staffers also note each incident, including today’s early morning incident, has followed closely on the heels of a confrontation with Cindy Sheehan’s opponent Nancy Pelosi. This morning’s incident occurred after an on-air confrontation between the two candidates on KQED’s public affairs program Forum with Michael Krasny on Wednesday morning.
“Each time we confront her, each time we ask her for a debate, each time we gain ground in the polls, something horrible happens,” said Burns. “Once or twice might be a coincidence, but such a consistent correlation is hard to ignore.”

It is very possible that Pelosi is in trouble. They would not mess with her campaign if that was not true. A lots of people are upset at Pelosi and she might just get her out of the office. Although it is very hard to unseat an incumbent especially in the district Pelosi is from. But you never know.
I think that the DNC will loose a lots of seats in the house. They have forgotten that they took some of those seats in republican areas in a mid term election. This time around Republicans are going to come out and vote and they will not vote for a democrat in congress.
what has enraged lots of san franciscans is that Pelosi promised she would impeach Bush/Cheney and of course when she got to washington she broke her promise… i think over 60% of the voters wanted impeachment…
Pelosi recently got 1/2 hour on radio and Cindy got zero time…
witness the Cindy activits protesting at the station:

Now we know. Pelosi said, in answer to Cindy Sheehan’s question (presumably after she hung up on Sheehan) that if she believed Bush had done anything impeachable she would have impeached him. Pelosi admitted that she did not think anything George W. Bush had done was an impeachable offense! Pelosi is even worse than I thought, because I believed it was just political expediency, but like Soertoro/Obama, she just has bad judgment! I hope one of her three opponents wins this race and at this point I don’t really care which one it is; just get rid of Pelosi.
I know and Cindy is a decent mother of a KIA VET and they treat her like dirt and always have!!!
I used to actually chat with Cindy in emails and she’s as sane as the next person but very liberal although not afraid to debate or hear other sides like some on the far left.
I’ve always liked her and felt bad for her. jmo.

This means – does it not – that Nancy Pee’s seat is up too? So that it’s theoretically possible to vote her out of business?
Wouldn’t that be great!
While we’re at it: why can’t we start a campaign to turn voters in Dean’s home state?
great post and I couldn’t agree more. Someone posted something a few weeks ago and compared the Ayers relationship to if you knew a past child molestor. If the molestor said he wasn’t sorry he molested a bunch of kids and wished he had molested more, would you want to be associated with him in any way shape or form??
I can’t stand Alan Colmes. Last night he kept asking guests if there was any proof Obama had them on his staff or was going to. How the hell would we know that? Second, you hang around w people you like and share common ground. Plain and simple.
No Iran is backing Obama-another tterrorist state. How much more proof do Americans need that OBAMA IS DANGEROUS.
That old question asking the citizens to produce irrefutable “proof” of malfeasance is like a doctor asking you to produce proof of a heart attack when you have chest pains. And the only reply we should make is that those are the symptoms and it’s your job to investigate.

OBAMA STAFFER talks internal polling and strategy
http://hillbuzz.wordpress.com/2008/10/30/tito-the-builder-on-hannity-colmes-tonight/#comments
….Obama campaign already knows are their weak links from the most important on down.
1 – Hillary voters. Internal polling suggests that at best, we are taking 70-75% of these voters. Other estimates are as low as 60% in some areas – particularly Ohio and western PA. My biggest problem with this campaign’s strategy was the decision NOT to offer Hillary the VP slot. She was ready and able to take this on, and would have campaigned enthusiastically for it. This selection would have also brought virtually all of her supporters into the fold, and the Obama campaign knew it. Though I have no way of knowing this for certain, and I do admit that I am relying on internal gossip, Senator Obama actually went against the advice of his top advisors. They wanted him to choose her, but the only significant opposition to this within the campaign came from Barack and Michelle Obama. In short, he let personal feelings take precedence over what was the most logical thing to do. Biden, by the way, has been a disaster inside the campaign. Everyone cringes whenever he gives an interview, and he creates so many headaches as the campaign has to stay on their toes in order to disseminate information and spin whatever it was he was trying to say.
2 – Sarah Palin. Don’t believe what the media is telling you about how horrible a choice she was. Again, our internal polling suggest that though she has had a minimal impact on pulling disaffected Hillary Democrats to McCain, she has done wonders in mobilizing the base for McCain. Another thing – we were completely taken by surprise with her pick. In my capacity in the research department, I looked into the backgrounds of Leiberman, Romney, Pawlenty and Ridge, and prepared briefs. I don’t mind bragging that we had pretty good stuff on all of them. With Leiberman, the plan was to paint him as an erratic old-timer who didn’t have a clue as to what he was doing (pretty much a clone of McCain). In Romney, we had him pegged as an evil capitalist who cut jobs. Pawlenty was going to get the “Quayle treatment”, or more precisely: a pretty face, with no valid experience. Tom Ridge was going to be used to provide a direct link from McCain to Bush. As you can see, we were quite enamored of all of them. Then the unexpected happened – Sarah Palin. We had no clue as to how to handle her, and bungled it from the start. Though through our misinformation networks, we have successfully taken some of the shine off. But let there be no doubt. She remains a major obstacle. She has singlehanded solidified “soft” Republican support, mobilized the McCain ground game, and has even had some appeal to independents and Hillary voters. This is what our internal polling confirms.
3 – Obama’s radical connections. Standards operating procedure has been to cry “racism” whenever one of these has been brought up. We even have a detailed strategy ready to go should McCain ever bring Rev. Wright up. Though by themselves they are of minimal worth, taken together, Rev. Wright, Bill Ayers, Father Pfelger, and now, Rashid Khalili, are exactly what the campaign does not need. The more focus on them, the more this election becomes a referendum on Obama. The campaign strategy from the very beginning was to make this election a referendum on Bush. Strategists have been banging their head on how successfully McCain has distanced himself from Bush. This has worked, and right now the tide is in his favor. People are taking a new look at Barack Obama, and our experience when this happens tells us this is not good news at all. When they take a look at him, one or more of these names are bound to be brought up. McCain has wisely not harped on this in recent weeks and let voters decide for themselves. This was a trap we set for him, and he never fully took the bait. Senator Obama openly dared him to bring up Ayers. This was not due to machismo on the part of Obama, but actually due to campaign strategy. Though McCain’s reference to Ayers fell flat in the last debate, people in the Obama campaign were actually disappointed that he didn’t follow through on it more and getting into it. Our focus groups found this out: When McCain brings these connections up, voters are turned off to him. They’d rather take this into consideration themselves, and when this happens, our numbers begin to tank.
4 – The Bradley Effect. Don’t believe these polls for a second. I just went over our numbers and found that we have next to no chance in the following states: Missouri, Indiana, North Carolina, Florida, New Hampshire and Nevada. Ohio leans heavily to McCain, but is too close to call it for him. Virginia, Pennsylvania, Colorado, New Mexico and Iowa are the true “toss up states”. The only two of these the campaign feels “confident” in are Iowa and New Mexico. The reason for such polling discrepancy is the Bradley Effect, and this is a subject of much discussion in the campaign. In general, we tend to take a -10 point percentage in allowing for this, and are not comfortable until the polls give us a spread well over this mark. This is why we are still campaigning in Virginia and Pennsylvania! This is why Ohio is such a desperate hope for us! What truly bothers this campaign is the fact that some pollsters get up to an 80% “refuse to respond” result. You can’t possibly include these into the polls. The truth is, people are afraid to let people know who they are voting for. The vast majority of these respondents are McCain supporters. Obama is the “hip” choice, and we all know it.
As part of my research duties, I scour right wing blogs and websites to get somewhat of a “feel” as to what is being talked about on the other side. Much of it is nonsense, but there are some exceptions which give the campaign jitters. A spirited campaign has been made to infiltrate many pro-Hillary sites and discredit them. A more disorganized, but genuine effort has also been made to sow doubts among the unapologetically right wing sites such as redstate.com. Don’t you guys get it? This has been the Obama campaign’s sole strategy from the very beginning! The only way he wins is over a dispirited, disorganized, and demobilized opposition. This is how it has been for all of his campaigns. What surprises me is that everyone has fallen for it. You may point to the polls as proof of the inevitability of all of this. If so, you have fallen for the oldest trick in the book. How did we skew these polls, you might ask? It all starts with the media “buzz” which has been generated over the campaign. Many stories are generated on the powerful Obama ground game, and how many new voters were registered. None of this happens by coincidence. It is all part of the poll-skewing process. This makes pollsters change their mixes to reflect these new voters and tilt the mix more towards Democratic voters. What is not mentioned or reported on is not the “under-reported cell phone users or young voters” we hear so much about. What is underreported is you.
Go read it. I am telling it folks, it is ours …………… no normal person is going to elect the Mansorian candidate. Obama is a plant. Now get out the vote — we have massive voter fraud to overrcome.
THIS is accurate if my OWN life and that of two of my best pals is worth anything! We are all 3 PUMA’s that have already voted (and some have blogged for and posted articles for) Mack and Sarah!

america first!
When you have no record, friends, mentors and religion have a lot of weight.
Short but sweet comment that pretty much says it all, standard. This is why I have been scratching my head. But friends who I really care about who see Obama as JFK. I just have never been able to get it.
There is a BREAKING story on Human Events blog this morning. Obama gave ACORN updated donor info at the crucial PRE-PRIMARY time. How damned blind can people be! This prick (Obambi) is still doing this and nothing is being done. God help us.
We’ve had a lot of competition for winners in the Most Corrupt Administration category in the last half of the 20th century; but Soertoro/Obama does represent a new breed of candidate in the 21st century by trying to go into office with more baggage than Nixon and Reagan exited with!
The “presto, chango” hopey dust trickling down on Soertoro/Obama rallies seems to obliterate reason; and resembles a better dressed Woodstock concert without the music, the peace symbols and the love.
C. S. Love your comment and analogy.
I cannot help but feel sorry for all of thiose who are pinning their hopes on him should he win on Tuesday. He can’t deliver on what he promises–no president can. But believers–especially this time around– believe he can, and that he will quickly heal our nation and bring us all together. I am not usually a pessemist, but I think we are in for some very disappointing years.
Even if you don’t like McCain, he never did a scorched earth
on the majority of the Republican base.
Thats because a gentleman is a gentlemann and obama is a punk.. and a punk is always a punk

IF nothing else can shake the Amercian people into a realisation of who and what the real Barack Obama is and stands for, then the Sirhan Sirhan dedication by Ayers should be it.
We all know that if RFK had survived then the USA and the world would have been a far different place.
I’m copying here an extract from EMK’s eulogy which included the following quote from a speech by Robert :
“There is a discrimination in this world and slavery and slaughter and starvation. Governments repress their people; and millions are trapped in poverty while the nation grows rich; and wealth is lavished on armaments everywhere.
“These are differing evils, but they are common works of man. They reflect the imperfection of human justice, the inadequacy of human compassion, our lack of sensibility toward the sufferings of our fellows.
“But we can perhaps remember–even if only for a tirne–that those who live with us are our brothers; that they share with us the same short moment of life; that they seek–as we do–nothing but the chance to live out their lives in purpose and happiness, winning what satisfaction and fulfillment they can.
“Surely this bond of common faith, this bond of common goal, can begin to teach us something. Surely, we can learn, at least, to look at those around us as fellow men. And surely we can begin to work a little harder to bind up the wounds among us and to become in our own hearts brothers and countrymen once again.
“Our answer is to rely on youth–not a time of life but a state of mind, a temper of the will, a quality of imagination, a predominance of courage over timidity, of the appetite for adventure over the love of ease. The cruelties and obstacles of this swiftly changing planet will not yield to obsolete dogmas and outworn slogans. They cannot be moved by those who cling to a present that is already dying, who prefer the illusion of security to the excitement and danger that come with even the most peaceful progress. It is a revolutionary world we live in; and this generation at home and around the world, has had thrust upon it a greater burden of responsibility than any generation that has ever lived.
“Some believe there is nothing one man or one woman can do against the enormous array of the world’s ills. Yet many of the world’s great movements, of thought and action, have flowed from the work of a single man. A young monk began the Protestant reformation, a young general extended an empire from Macedonia to the borders of the earth, and a young woman reclaimed the territory of France. It was a young Italian explorer who discovered the New World, and the thirty-two-year-old Thomas Jefferson who proclaimed that all men are created equal.
“These men moved the world, and so can we all. Few will have the greatness to bend history itself, but each of us can work to change a small portion of events, and in the total of all those acts will be written the history of this generation. It is from numberless diverse acts of courage and belief that human history is shaped. Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, those ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance.
“Few are willing to brave the disapproval of their fellows, the censure of their colleagues, the wrath of their society. Moral courage is a rarer commodity than bravery in battle or great intelligence. Yet it is the one essential, vital quality for those who seek to change a world that yields most painfully to change. And I believe that in this generation those with the courage to enter the moral conflict will find themselves with companions in every corner of the globe.
“For the fortunate among us, there is the temptation to follow the easy and familiar paths of personal ambition and financial success so grandly spread before those who enjoy the privilege of education. But that is not the road history has marked out for us. Like it or not, we live in times of danger and uncertainty. But they are also more open to the creative energy of men than any other time in history. All of us will ultimately be judged and as the years pass we will surely judge ourselves, on the effort we have contributed to building a new world society and the extent to which our ideals and goals have shaped that effort.
“The future does not belong to those who are content with today, apathetic toward common problems and their fellow man alike, timid and fearful in the face of new ideas and bold projects. Rather it will belong to those who can blend vision, reason and courage in a personal commitment to the ideals and great enterprises of American Society.
“Our future may lie beyond our vision, but it is not completely beyond our control. It is the shaping impulse of America that neither fate nor nature nor the irresistible tides of history, but the work of our own hands, matched to reason and principle, that will determine our destiny. There is pride in that, even arrogance, but there is also experience and truth. In any event, it is the only way we can live.”
Edward finished by saying of Robert :
“As he said many times, in many parts of this nation, to those he touched and who sought to touch him:
“Some men see things as they are and say why.
I dream things that never were and say why not.” ”
I’m almost crying as I write this when I think of my dead hero 40 years on…..
And now, the USA faces the grotesque possibility that a friend of a friend of the assassin will be its president.
How can that day possibly dawn?
You should read the post that is up at NEW ZEAL. Among a lot of other things it talks about the intention of the creation of a New African Nation, beginning with S Carolina, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, and Mississippi.

Honolulu, Hawaii- The late Marxist activist, Frank Marshall Davis, frequently accompanied by young Barack Obama and his grandfather Stanley Armour Dunham, sold marijuana and cocain from a “Chicago style” hot dog cart Davis operated near his home on Kuhio Avenue in Waikiki in the early 70s, WND has established. — MORE

Well, I’m at the point where I think the appropriate question is: are there any past associations or friends of Obama who are NOT wacky, America-hating radicals or criminals? (crickets) That’s what I thought.
Whether the MSM approves or not, I think the obscene dishonesty of Obama and his campaign matters to a lot of people.
A recent LA Times/Bloomberg poll is pretty interesting in regard to Florida early voters. So far, Dem ballots outnumber the GOP 56-39%; however, McCain is leading Obama 49-45%. This can be none other than the effect of Hillary Democrats (go PUMAS), and it’s not surprising. Hillary supporters from FL remember all too well being disenfranchised from having any affect on the nomination.

Whatever happened to Larry Sinclair?
he’s still out there, trying to get his message out.
The Republican Attack Machine, through a 527, is poised to flood the airwaves with new ads about Rev. Wright. And almost every day a new scandal du jour emerges concerning Obama. Ayers lauding Sirhan? Apparently, anyone who hates the U.S., democracy, and/or Jews is a pal of bad Billy. No doubt the Weathermen claimed they were trying to help the common people. So what do they support? Killing populist Bobby Kennedy. Right. The only way rich people like Ayers and Obama help the poor is helping them vote for radicals who want freedom from religion and morality. Bobo supported a slumlord and gave little to charity. And, if he himself had dedicated a book to Sirhan, I wonder if that would matter to the O-bots!!
Lets remember that birds on a wire will turd.
That turd is gonna land on the people below.
That cartoon is SO great! love it. as well as the post. :O)
Pat, still enjoying your work!
By the way, I loved the movie with Mel and Goldie by the same name as your title!
Seriously though, for a person who has been entrenched with associates like these to be primed for the Presidency should be unbelieveable!
I am sickened at the thought!
Thank you kindly, Sassy.
Quite a lineup, Pat. I thought they were all now under the bus. Perhaps they will end up in BO’s cabinet, if elected. Or in the cemetery.
Great cartoon! You are getting better each time.
A person is known by the company or friends they surround them selves with through much of their life, not just the current crop who are willing to befriend you for their own personal needs, as one becomes more famous.
If Obama was really the best person for the job of president, then why with all the things the republicans are blamed for does Obama have to outspend McCain by three or four times. One would think that if you really had a good product, one would need to spend less. So who chose to spend less?
I hope this election does not prove that one can buy an election.
Rich
As always a great cartoon. Not only do you get right to the message, the drawings are fabulouw.
Love ya Sis
Kay
Great toon. I wouldn’t want to park my car under that line!
LOL–hadn’t thought of that angle…
The cartoon reminds me of the saying : Birds of a feather…..
