We are facing the prospect of a naive and relatively uninformed young president whose world view has been largely formed by the far-left anti-American radicals he’s chosen as some of his closest friends for decades.
We are facing the risk of a president so little traveled that he had to make a whirlwind tour of Europe this summer just to get a “postcard” feel for the continent, who did not visit our gravely injured soldiers in Germany because no photographers could accompany him, and who spent most of the time prepping for a lavish rally in Berlin that was nothing more than expensive theater:

“Earlier today, when asked about efforts to prevent Iran from becoming a nuclear power, Senator Obama said he might apply tougher sanctions — ‘potentially.’
I have called for tougher sanctions against Iran for years. I have supported tougher sanctions during this campaign that Barack Obama opposed, and if elected, I would work to lead an international effort to put tougher sanctions in place — not potentially but actually.
Senator Obama last year opposed legislation with broad bipartisan support that called for tougher sanctions on Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps for its terrorist activities.
Senator Obama was also asked today about capturing Osama bin Laden — he said he would ‘try him, apply the death penalty to him where it is necessary.’ I do not know why Senator Obama would have any doubt that it is necessary. There is no one more deserving of execution than Osama bin Laden. If he survives capture, the death penalty would be necessary, just and appropriate.

And we have to both apply much tougher diplomacy and sanctions, potentially, if they do not move in a better direction. We have to give them some inducements to walk away from their nuclear program and we should never take a military option off the table.

I found a video clip in which Obama totally redefines what middle/upper class income is and who should pay more taxes. He is quoted on video. I think this is newsworthy, given the current focus on Obama’s plan to tax a larger number of families. The video shows Obama directly stating this. It is far less difficult to interpret than, say, the Chicago NPR audio-only about redistributive change. This is a video that’s ready-made for a campaign spot and for video news releases. All people will understand it.
In this video, Obama defined $97,000 family income as “upper class” and subject to $1 Trillion in tax increases in debate within the last year and in policy proposals. He also makes a similar claim in writing in an Op-Ed (see below).

Heh, I think you’re right, Shiloh. I’ve been looking at some very interesting internal polls the last day or so. If those numbers are even partially true, I think the nation might get a shock Tuesday night.
Today I caught a glimpse of Obama on the trail, and he has this familiar, strained look on his face. It’s the look he had before the PA primary, when the polls showed him closing, but he probably knew Hillary was getting ready to clobber him.
Many of us have been saying all along that the polls aren’t right, that they’re skewed. And the evidence I’m seeing is beginning to point in this direction more and more.
I’m thinking this Jeremiah Wright ad that’s running in battleground states might be having an effect. When they started, it was only in PA, OH and FL, but they’ve raised a lot more money and might be expanding it.
I also think that a lot of people are getting insulted by Obama’s obscene fund raising and spending – when the country is supposedly in economic crises and so many people are hurting. I’m thinking his slickly produced infomerical may be backfiring on him.
Lastly, I think the polls have missed the impact of Hillary Democrats. There is evidence in FL and PA that Hillary Democrats are going against Obama in droves.

If I recall, Dean and the DNC got Hillary to agree to sit on all of those allegations – in the spirit of unity and to not hand the GOP an issue.

why is no one talking about obama’s plans for a civilian militia? why do we need this? who will it consist of? (obamazoids?)will they be armed? how much power will they have? this sounds frighteningly like hitlers brownshirts. americans need to be aware of this yet no one in the msm is questioning this.

I cringe every time I hear someone refer to Soertoro/Obama as “a naive and relatively uninformed young president“.
He’s 47. A year older than John F. Kennedy was when he was assassinated. By age 25 Kennedy was a decorated war hero. Kennedy wrote books also, While England Slept, his published thesis which became a best seller and Profiles in Courage to name two. His political career culminated in becoming the youngest president in history.
Compared to Kennedy Sorotoro/Obama, like George W. Bush, has done nothing with his life. He was an unsuccessful community developer, an unsuccessful lawyer and and unsuccessful state Senator. No one should blame his failures on his age because Martin Luther King, Edward Kennedy and many, many others achieved so much more at a much younger age. Because of all the Obama hype, when we look at the accomplishments of so many of our leaders, Soertoro/Obama looks so weak.

Obama said he wants a “Civilian Army” of 250,000 people. Once that Civilian Army is in place, does anyone think that Obama will try to say that the Civilian Army is now the “standing militia”, and try to do away with the right to bear arms under the Second Amendment?

I have no idea what Senator Obama’s true intentions are with his Civilian Army – whether for good or evil. I am positive the end result will be his Civilian Army will use their power nefariously and not for the good of America.
I’m one of those people that Governor Palin scoffed at several weeks ago, who took her world tour of Europe while in college. I suspect Senator Obama shares a similar view of young adults who take off to Europe for a summer of frolic instead of community organizing.
Twenty-six years later, I still have vivid visions and memories of twelve weeks touring fifteen countries. Many are typical college fare – cheap beer on a three hour Heineken cruise of Amsterdam’s harbor – complete with drinking games against college students from Canada and Australia (the Aussies won), flirting with a gaggle of Swedish boys in an open air dance club on a Greek island, picnicking on the shores of the Adriatic near Dubrovnik, a sweet woman who didn’t speak English in a country on the other side of the Iron Curtain who stopped charging me to use the ladies room when she realized I had an urinary tract infection, purple habited nuns scurrying in formation among the streets of the Vatican, the wonder of the Sistine Chapel, the terror of Pompeii, debating South African boys about apartheid on an all night ferry crossing the Mediterranean, skipping through the von Trapp summer house in Austria singing the “Seventeen” song, the beer gardens of Germany, the madness of Ludwig and his Bavarian fairy tale castle, the beauty and apprehension experienced from an Alp cable car swinging in a strong wind, the triumph of winning $250 in a Monte Carlo casino, the beauty of a tan gained from the Spanish sun and beaches, ordering potato chips in London and receiving french fries.
All those emotions, visions and memories are as fresh as yesterday. Among the strongest are the memories of an American WWII graveyard and a concentration camp in Austria. White crosses as far as one could see nestled between serene Italian hills on a beautiful, sunny, summer morning. Gas chambers and furnaces used to terrorize and ethnic cleanse a continent and planet on a chilly, overcast, summer afternoon.
The impressions of the power and determination it took to build St. Peter’s, the Parthenon, Westminister Abbey are mixed with the images of the power and determination it took to build gas chambers and lay thousands of American and allied young men to rest in graveyards across Europe.
Hmmmm….there must be a length thingy on posts and I’ve gone over it. I’ll try posting the rest in installments.

That idea didn’t work.
The second part of my post discussed that Senator Obama didn’t visit the concentration camps and military graveyards of Europe. He doesn’t have the emotions from those sites lingering on his skin forever. He has no emotive understanding why power needs to be guarded from evil and misuse. If he did, he would have cast off people like Ayers, Wright, etc… long before he ran for the U.S. Senate. He would understand that radicals (whether right or left) have their place in society, but when given power directly or indirectly, there is a strong risk of corruption and evil.
I’d much rather vote for the man who understands why the history of the Hoover administration is an important lesson today and tomorrow than the man who thinks history is for old fogies with no vision of hope and change for tomorrow.
