Thanks for making me laugh…its has been a tough election season.

It’s been brutal. It’s been a nightmare. It’s been the most harrowing and threatening year in the lives of most of us.

Comment by oowawa | 2008-11-02 15:38:23

Au contraire, Lizzie, as Hagar the Horrible said of the Dark Ages: “What do you mean Dark Ages? These are great times!”

Comment by AnninCA | 2008-11-02 17:02:15

That’s overly dramatic, in my opinion.

I think it’s been politics as usual. What’s too bad is that this was obviously a year when we needed true inspiration to new solutions.

Perfect, Matthew. Very funny!

“We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.”

Yep–that ranks right up there with the Gettysburg Address.

If you have undecided friends or relatives who still think European style socialism can work, please ask them to read the following. I am from Europe and I know that it doesn’t work. I’ve been there, lived through it.

Also, here’s a collection of powerful videos (most of which No Quarter readers are familiar with) that can change the undecideds’ mind. Please send them to your undecided friends, relatives and acquaintances in the battleground states!!!

Sorry, mister, but you are full of shit. Stop spreading lies. That’s a really sick thing to do. I think the people in here deserve an apology. I am shocked and aghast you would try to spread such lies.

You need to seek medical attention. Fast.

Comment by Lizzie Struthers | 2008-11-02 15:39:52

OMG and it’s the zero-brains blog owner himself that stopped by. Well I stopped by at your place too, von Planck. All I gotta say is I’m surprised you even learned how to ride a tram over there. Europe is better off without slimers like you around. To imagine you should attempt to spread such lies with your sub-par (~80) IQ.

You’re on prescription medication, aren’t you? Under a few TROs too? From parents and guardians?

How did the plane ever land for you over there? It wasn’t a planned landing was it?

As a fellow cloggie I concur, Socialsim didn’t work in Europe, that’s why they are all reforming welfare etc. Europe is turning RIGHT because the left has no real purpose anymore, they don’t care about the working class anymore, just the ethnic minorities that cause the most trouble.

Open thread so: Brokaw and Rose NOW say they don’t know anything about Obama and his worldview – then why the hell didn’t they ask earlier?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzMas1bVidw&NR=1

Even “I” have a hard time believing he is worried about CA. PA you bet, MI he should be, but CA?

Comment by Geo | 2008-11-02 15:46:41

There is no way Obama is up +24 in CA. No Possible Way.

RCP has Obama gettng 60% of the vote and that is impossible. Gore and Kerry only won by +10 and that was against BUSH with the Iraq war raging.

People here are scared to death of Obama. I say he is up +12 at the most.

The POLLS are farked.

I call BS too. My family and their friends are from San Jose, CA and they are not voting for Barry. He will win CA but no way by that kind of margins.

Comment by oowawa | 2008-11-02 15:52:32

Remember, Ronald Reagan was a big hit in California. Republican governors win frequently. CA is by no means the homogeneous liberal “left-coast” frisbie festival it is rumored to be . . .

California’s marriage amendment (48?) is going to bring conservatives out in force…perhaps that is why they are a little nervous?

From Richmond Times-Dispatch, Monday, July 7 2008

Dear Editor, Times-Dispatch:

Each year I get to celebrate Independence Day Twice. On June 30th I celebrate my independence day, and on July 4th I celebrate America’s. This year is special, because it marks the 40th anniversary of my independence.

On June 30th 1968, I escaped Communist Cuba, and a few months later, I was in the United States to stay. That I happened to arrive in Richmond on Thanksgiving Day is just part of the story, but I digress.

I’ve thought a lot about the anniversary this year. The election –year rhetoric has made me think a lot about Cuba and what transpired there. In the late 1950’s, most Cubans thought Cuba needed a change, so when a young leader came along, every Cuban was at least receptive.

When the young leader spoke eloquently and passionately and denounced the old system, the press fell in love with him. They never questioned who his friends were or what he really believed in. When he said he would help the farmers and the poor and bring free medical care and education to all, everyone followed. When he said he would bring justice and equality to all, everyone said, ‘Praise the Lord.’ And when the young leader said, ‘I will be for change and I’ll bring you change,’ everyone yelled ‘Viva Fidel!’

But nobody asked about the change, so by the time the executioner’s guns when silent, the people’s guns had been taken away. By the time everyone was equal, they were equally poor, hungry and oppressed. By the time everyone received their free education, it was worth nothing. By the time the press noticed, it was too late, because they were now working for him. By the time the change was finally implemented, Cuba had been knocked down a couple of notches to Third-World status. By the time the change was over, more than a million people had taken to boats, rafts and inner-tubes. You can call those who made it ashore anywhere else in the world the most fortunate Cubans. And now I’m back to the beginning of my story.

Luckily, we in America would never fall for a young leader who promised change without asking, what change? How will you carry it out? What will it cost America?

Would we???

Thanks! found it

(It’s the second letter)

http://www.inrich.com/cva/ric/search.apx.-content-articles-RTD-2008-07-07-0033.html

Antonio Prohias (best known for MAD’s Spy vs Spy) had to flee Cuba because in his popular cartoons he called Castro out as a marxist in the ‘transition period’ & Castro thug’s called out to kill him (’Paredon para Prohias!’); on a different scale the whole proctology of Joe reminded me of that.

To which I may also add:
the whole voter-fraud scheme etc. is also reminiscent of the way parts of Eastern Europe fell to the communistic parties (good read: Micahel Burleigh,Sacred Causes, chptr 6 &7) and of course the whole Odinga/ODM scheme in Kenya.

So, the Feds are looking into the leak of Aunti Z. Why aren’t the Feds looking the various background check into a US citizen, Joe the Plumber? Why are two men arrested for hanging an effigy of O-fraud but the two idiots hanging Palin from their roof their 15 minutes of fame? Such BS double standard.

Worth a repost: Pitbull Palin knows and is letting the good folks of OHIO know too.

Palin Attacks Obama on Coal Production

http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2008/11/02/palin-attacks-obama-on-coal-production/

Nick Timiraos reports from Marietta, Ohio, on the presidential race.

Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin unleashed a new volley against Barack Obama on a four-city tour of Ohio on Sunday by touting newly released audio comments made by the Democratic presidential candidate promising to restrict the construction of new coal-fired power plants in the U.S.

The issue is particularly sensitive in coal-rich Ohio, West Virginia, and Colorado. Obama made the comments to the San Francisco Chronicle in January, which were posted on YouTube over the weekend.

Obama said that under his proposal to cap greenhouse gases, energy suppliers would get incentives to develop technologies to reduce pollution and to use cleaner sources of power. “So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can,” Obama said. “It’s just that it will bankrupt them because they’re going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that’s being emitted.”

Palin told supporters to listen to the audiotape. “You’re going to hear Sen. Obama talk about bankrupting the coal industry,” she said. The Alaska governor also pointed to comments that Democratic vice-presidential candidate Joe Biden made to an environmental activist, promising no more coal-fired power plants in America. Biden was videotaped, likely without his knowledge.

“In an Obama-Biden administration, there would be no use for coal at all, from Wyoming to Colorado, to West Virginia and Ohio,” Palin said.

The Obama campaign scrambled after Biden made his comments in September, clarifying that Obama remained committed to exploring the as-yet-undeveloped clean-coal technology in order to produce cleaner-burning coal-fired power plants.

thanks for posting…I did not know that McCain and Palin were aware of this yet. This is yet another example of how WE THE PEOPLE get to decide this election. I have no idea where exactly they got this information but it is very likely they saw us post about it here or somewhere else.
