why i voted for john mccain and sarah palin

Why I voted for John McCain and Sarah Palin

Because McCain:

is not George Bush.

is an American Hero.

has served his country since he was 17 years old.

has shown proven leadership.

has shown proven bipartisanship.

crosses party lines, even when it is risky.

takes a stand on tough votes, not the easy way out.

was right on the surge, and will end the war safely, and with honor.

wants to reduce federal spending.

wants to lower taxes.

will protect jobs.

will protect our veterans, and fight for them.

believes in the promise of America, capitalism, and all it has to offer.

wants to protect social security.

will end loop holes in Washington.

warned of the impending Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac crash.

has an healthcare plan that will limit government involvement, and work for more Americans.

promises to end earmarks and wasteful spending.

will protect our borders and keep us safe.

has a plan to meet labor needs, and address the undocumented workers.

pays his female employees equal pay.

promises to increase the number of women in Washington within his first year.

has an aggressive energy plan to get us off foreign oil.

supports amniotic fluid and adult stem cell research.

believes in constructionist judges, not ones that favor one group over another.

will support and defend the second amendment.

has released his senate and medical records, his birth certificate and his donor list.

risked his candidacy by believing in, and selecting a woman as his running mate.

has a running mate who has more experience than the other candidate for President.

has a running mate who has executive experience, more than any other candidate.

has a running mate that does not go behind closed doors and threaten impending doom.

does not speak one way about Americans to their face, and another way behind closed doors.

does not hide his campaign contributions.

accepted campaign finance, as he promised.

does not associate and befriend anti-American, anti-Semitic, racists, or terrorists.

does not make empty campaign promises.

earned his nomination by the voters.

does not continuously lower his definition of rich.

never gives up, never tires, and continues to fight.

values and respects the accomplishments of Hillary Clinton.

values, respects and fights for the American flag.

is a maverick.

is a straight talker.

is an honest man, a man of his word.

has never once called me racist.

or bitter.

or selfish.

John McCain is a man that, when he says he will do something, I have every faith that he will.

And those are things that can not be said of Barack Obama.

This is why I was proud to cast my vote for John McCain and Sarah Palin.

Thanks for doing your part.

It’s hilarious how the themes Obama hits hardest are where he’s weakest. I wish we had more time…

“I am my brother’s keeper” – Aunti and Bro Excluded

“John McCain voted with George Bush 90% of the time” – Obama voted with Reid 96% of the time.

Man this guy stinks. Literally and figuratively, according to those closest to him.

Re Congressional swearing in ceremonies – aren’t family (friends?) INVITED by the member to attend?
And TruthTeller seems to be one of the few making a great point – Obama’s aunt says she “can’t talk” until after the election. It’s obvious WHO told her THAT!

Comment by JoseyJ | 2008-11-02 04:53:38

We can always depend on Obamedia to cover for Obama.
Now the Washington Post says privacy rights were violated by exposing Obama’s aunt’s illegal status.
Thus, another investigation will ensue to expose the leaker.

Boston Herald
Should the immigration status of Barack Obama’s aunt, Zeituni Onyango, have any bearing on the presidential race?
58% – Yes
39% – No
3% – Not sure
Total Votes: 2,007

http://www.bostonherald.com/news/politics/2008/view.bg?articleid=1129421

Aunt Zeituini’s illegal status has a DIRECT bearing on the election because Obama has expended much energy projecting himself as a “family man” – even concocting a lie with the media that his WHITE grandmother was dying and THE ONE would RUSH to see his “dying grandmother” in 5 days AFTER rallying and fundraising in several states.
But he couldn’t make it to Boston to assist his aunt living in poverty.
Instead, he took money FROM her! – and most likely told her she “couldn’t talk” until after the election.

Comment by KXT | 2008-11-02 06:59:25

OBama rushed to her side because he wanted to use the Campaign plane. That cheapsake did mot want to use his ownn money after the election to take the family to see his grandmother.

1. How do they know there was a leak? Maybe she just mentioned to some reporter that she’s “fighting deportation” or something like that. maybe one of her friends mentioned it to a reporter.

2. Is she actually his aunt? I mean, is she related to Frank Marshall Davis?

3. Isn’t she from the family that (according to Obama in “Dreams from My Father”) hated Obama’s mama for allegedly polluting the family line with “white blood”?

4. Shouldn’t deportation hearings (unlike Joe Wurtzelbach’s child custody hearings!) be a matter of public records?

5. How come she isn’t on a boat, yacht, raft, plane, space shuttle, broomstick, kite, hang-glider, or whatever back to the homeland this very second!?!?

6. If an immigration judge rejected her request for asylum four years ago that would be A PUBLIC RECORD!

7. HOW MUCH MORE OF THIS %&@#ING INSANITY DO WE HAVE TO PUT UP WITH?

Wow! All this time they talked about how “disorganized” Mccain’s campain was compared to Obama’s. I always defended it as not disorganized but rather underfunded. According to this, the Mccain’s campain is exactly what I expected.

One of the reasons I am so glad that BO didn’t choose Hillary as his VP is because that will make voting against the democratic party so easy. You know voting against her would be hard.
I am a leftist. Even thinking about a Republican as an option is crazy. But this is the craziest year I have ever seen. So I say GO SARA

I’m a “Former Leftist for McCain” as I shocked all my left-wing liberal friends by voting for McCain on Friday. Even though I live in Texas and he is going to win here–I wanted to show McCain my support in the popular vote!

Comment by VinceP1974 | 2008-11-02 05:31:23

Hillary *NOT* being the VP is probably one of the best turn of events for her.

If Obama wins, I am predicting a very controversial administration, and one that will be in continuous ethics and legal violations and a cloud of corruption will hover over the White House until it is over.

I couldn’t imagine anyone of integrity wanting any part of that.

ALL THE POLLSTERS ARE WRONG!!!

On November 5th, Zogby, Gallup, Rasmussen, and all others will GO OUT OF BUSINESS!

These pollsters are all in the pocket of the liberal media, and when they are ALL WRONG on election day, the public will abandon them.

McCain 2008!

Vote for Obama and you’ll sleep with the Devil!

Comment by Not conviced | 2008-11-02 05:06:27

Honestly, thats just shifting the blame.

I mean, its sure possible that McCain will win come Nov. 4th, but I wouldnt say that the polls are in the pocket of liberals.

They have nothing to gain by pandering to democrats. All that would happen is that they’d lose credibility. Thats not good for pollsters. Considering, you know, credibility is all they are worth.

Comment by VinceP1974 | 2008-11-02 05:09:15

Polling is not an exact science. If pollsters haven’t been lost all credibility by their failure in 2000 and 2004, then they’re not going to now.

If someone wanted to launch a campaign of psychological warfare then they have every incentive to ensure that polls deliver consistently hopeless news to one side.

Comment by Geo | 2008-11-02 07:32:37

You are wrong!
They are PAID by the MSM.
No one even remembers who was the most accurate last election. They do not care anymore. They were all wrong in the primaries.

Does anyone even remember that they were wrong in the primaries? NO

Does anyone remeber who was the most accurate in the primaries? NO

The thrive by alliances with MSM. The MSM runs ads on the pollster web-sites also.

Comment by tzada | 2008-11-02 17:41:10

Well Zogby polls has a conflict of interest. Barack and brothers James and John are friends. Google the names together and you may find out more than you like.

What it does show is another link with Barack and radical Islam.

“We know who he is and who his friends are.”

Comment by AnninCA | 2008-11-02 17:43:59

You know, not everything is a “trick.”

The pollsters this year have been faced with completely revising all of their assumptions.

It’s about like talking to a stock broker these days.

Anyone who expects pollsters in this election to be “right” or stockbrokes to call the future?

Then the problem is that person’s expectations, not the stockbroker or the pollster.

Comment by John Smith | 2008-11-02 06:06:36

Pollsters are making very big assumptions. They assume that Republicans are going to stay home and that democrats are all voting for Obama. They also assume that the early voting is a trend. We saw the same thing in 2004. Traditional voters vote on Nov 4th. I am also sure they are all caught up in the media hype.

Comment by Not convinced | 2008-11-02 06:12:33

Well, you’re right that they make assumptions.

One thing to take not of though is that in 2000 and 2004, early voting favored the Republicans.
Also, this year, unlike prior election years, the total percent of democrats is higher than Republicans by about 5-10 percentage points.
Although I dont have the exact numbers right now, its like 37% to 30%.

Comment by Mary | 2008-11-02 08:36:57

Uh, no, Not Convinced.

In 2000 & 2004, early voting favored Democrats. Republicans voted on election day, and came out in full force.

Not to mention, that the “pollsters” are not telling you how many “undecideds” there are: many of them have 10-12% as undecided.

THOSE are McCain voters who won’t tell the pollsters who they’re voting for, but will show up on Tuesday.

Comment by requiredreading | 2008-11-02 08:48:51

AND nobody has any idea of how many of those early-voting registered Democrats are voting McCain/Palin!

Comment by Not convinced | 2008-11-02 10:51:54

Well, I’ll disagree with you on the first stat. From what I have read (albeit I acknowledge my sources may be wrong) Republicans won big on early voting.

Also, most pollsters DO say how many undecideds there are. There are about 8% undecided on average.

Comment by tzada | 2008-11-02 17:55:42

Don’t underestimate the effect Hillary Clinton had/has on this campaign. Many Many Many Republican thought she was a true threat to be elected. Barack did not come off in a favorable way, so he was considered beatable. They either switched to a Democrat to vote Barack or if they had the choice in an open primary voted Barack. He even told some states to vote Democrat for a day and vote for him.

During the primaries the Republican base was not energized. We had 2 good candidates and choosing the worst Democrat, to be in the race sounded good to many. Of course after all the stuff came out about Barack, then it was like oh crap, what have we done…… Hillary for her faults at least loves America, and has always been proud.

The vast majority of those people, Republican at heart, will NOT vote for Barack Obama. Will NOT elect him president. He may win, but he won’t win fair. But then has he ever played fair?

HELP THIS PAC RUN THESE GREAT ADS – WRIGHT, ETC!

The National Republican Trust is the group running a great Wright ad, an ad about BO’s support of driver’s licenses for illegals, and one on the economy. Let’s saturate the swing states with this.

Remember the effect that Wright had when the story broke last March. Think how many millions of Americans have only recently tuned into this election and haven’t been exposed to the Wright issue at all. I know these ads started out in PA, OH and FL, but this group wants to expand to more swing states.

The polls are bizarre. Shifts of 6-7 points in one day just don’t happen unless there are major events. Only the campaign internal polls have any significance at this point.

The assumptions being made by pollsters are these:

1. That the refuse to responds, which are double what they are historically, will break like those that do respond. Beneath that assumption is the assumption that those who refuse to respond are just too busy and not that it says anything about their leanings. In an election where those for McCain are being intimidated and are staying quiet, THAT is a poor assumption.

2. That dem vs rep registrations are a proxy for leaning. Another bad assumption for two reasons, first many republicans registered dem to vote in primaries and second, many dems (PUMA and others) will not vote for Obama.

3. That those who do respond are being as honest as usual. Again, in an election where race is in your face and intimidation is the norm, many are lying to pollsters. This is the new Bradley effect, the Obama effect.

This is only three, there are many more. There is no way to know the extent to which these are operating until the votes are in. I believe the fact that early voting has not produced the shifts Obama expected is an indication. We’ll see.

I urge everyone to completely stop looking at polls, and to scoff at anyone who does.

Comment by Mary | 2008-11-02 08:40:02

I would agree: ignore the polls.

They all said Obama was going to win Super Tuesday, and they were all WRONG.

Comment by lisa-ny | 2008-11-02 06:28:36

French President Nicolas Sarkozy is very critical of U.S. presidential candidate Barack Obama’s positions on Iran, according to reports that have reached Israel’s government.

Sarkozy has made his criticisms only in closed forums in France. But according to a senior Israeli government source, the reports reaching Israel indicate that Sarkozy views the Democratic candidate’s stance on Iran as “utterly immature” and comprised of “formulations empty of all content.”

[Note: Sarkozy is a conservative and will likely get along very well with McCain and Palin.]

Two things pollsters are not taking into account. The number of center-left Dems that are not supporting Obama, and the number of Republicans and Independents that registered as Dems to vote in primaries as part of Operation Chaos after McCain had sewn up the nomination. 10 point party ID gap is not right, we’re looking at most at 6%. If you change the polling sampling percentages to match the 6%, Obama is in a heap of trouble. Mason Dixon and IBD/TIPP are the closest in sample size of the 6%, and look at the cap they have on Obama’s number, it’s around 47-48%. He’s not going any hgiher than that at this point.

Redistribution of weath – An experiment
Just received this funny story from a friend. Pass it on…

I think we should all live by this ….. find out if your waiter/waitress is for Obama and treat it the way this guy did … then see if the waiter/waitress still feels the same way about the chosen one …

Today on my way to lunch I passed a homeless guy with a sign that read “Vote Obama, I need the money.” I laughed
Once in the restaurant my server had on a “Obama 08″ tie, again I laughed as he had given away his political preference — just imagine the coincidence.

When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to him that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept. He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need–the homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight.

I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10 and told him to thank the server inside as I’ve decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy was grateful.

At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment I realized the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn even though the actual recipient deserved money more.

I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in concept than in practical application.
