Dear Fellow Business Owner:

As a Business owner who employs 30 people, I have resigned myself to the fact that Barack Obama will be our next President, and that my Taxes and Fees will go up in a BIG way.

To compensate for these increases, I figure that our customers will have to see an increase in my fees of about 8%.

I will also have to lay off six of my employees.

This really bothered me as I believe we are family here and didn’t know how to choose who will have to go. So, this is what I did.

I strolled thru the parking lot and found eight Obama bumper stickers on my employees’ cars.

I have decided these folks will be the first to be laid off.

I can’t think of more fair way to approach this problem.

If you have a better idea, let me know.

I am sending this letter to all business owners that I know.

I think it’s safe to say that stealing elections is quite easy to do, considering the MSM is in on the fix as well. Don’t you guys think it’s odd that Jimmy Carter has been so silent on the whole ACORN fiasco? After all, this is a man who’d travel across the world to ensure fair elections, but to remain mum speaks volumes about his integrity.

Democrats and self-professed progressives during this election season have behaved liked those whom they claim to despise, mainly the Republicans circa ‘00 and ‘04. By their own convoluted rationale, stealing elections is fair because the correct side e.g. their side is doing the stealing. What happened to liberalism’s ideals relating to fairness? Oh never mind, I guess they never really had ideals in the first place, it’s all about power and ego. What a perfect candidate they have in Barack Obama.

I’ve been going to other PUMA sites and WOW!!! They are ENERGIZED!!! I’ve been going to Hillbuzz, mccain democrats, pumapac and a few others and it’s amazing. It’s gotten the Republicans all jazzed up. I can’t stop reading all the stories that people talk about. It’s amazing. And I noticed that most of these people used to knock on doors and do phone banks for Hillary and have gone to McCain.

But in reading this stuff, Obots seem genuinely convinced that PUMAs are, and always have been, Republicans. They truly believe this. I think they have to. I think the pollsters believe this too.

At an event at a Boca Raton synagogue, Congressman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) said that the United States should let Russia invade Georgia. Beginning at the 3:50 mark in the following YouTube video, which was recorded by Pamela Geller of the blog Atlas Shrugs, Nadler says:

We have not been willing to put our priorities properly. We have not been willing to say … “Hey Russia, we won’t expand NATO into the Ukraine and Georgia, right next to your borders, if you cooperate with us on Iran.” …

I think Iran and Israel are a hell of a lot more important than expanding NATO to Russia’s borders. Why should we? What do we need it for?

Obama’s first fulltime employer, Business International, had substantial SDS ties in the 1960s. After graduating from Columbia in 1983, Obama’s first fulltime job was to work for an international business newsletter firm, Business International. From all accounts (including Obama’s), it appears that this company was business-oriented and mainstream politically, unlike his other fulltime employers before law school.

For that reason, it is a strange coincidence that in the 1960s, Business International also appears to have had closer ties to the SDS than any other American business firm. Yet, because Obama’s college concentration within political science was in international relations, the coincidence may not be as strange as it first appears.

I learned this yesterday when, for a project I’m doing, I had occasion to read Carl Oglesby’s memoir of his days as a leader of the SDS in the 1960s, Ravens in the Storm: A Personal History of the 1960s Anti-War Movement. Oglesby, who was President of SDS in 1966 and 1967, led the largely nonviolent wing of the group in its battles with the violent revolutionary wing (which became the Weathermen). SDS at the time had three national secretaries, two of which were Bernardine Dohrn and Mike Klonsky. Dohrn and Klonsky led the attack on Oglesby and his radical (yet liberal) vision. Although the broad difference in philosophy was the overarching reason for the split, the chief bone of contention at the time was Oglesby’s development of SDS contacts with Business International, a business information and consulting service led by Eldredge Haynes. Indeed, Haynes or Business International are discussed on over 25 pages of Oglesby’s memoir, and they are part of the subtext of many more pages.

As part of a joint “project” with SDS (p. 170), Oglesby arranged meetings with Haynes and Business International clients as part of their “round-table meetings,” allowing SDS to explain their opposition to the war (p. 171). New York SDS members continued to meet regularly with Business International even after Oglesby left New York.

Haynes “had come to agree with SDS about the war, racism, and urban poverty.” (Id.) Haynes, who died in 1976, told Oglesby that if he had been in the same generation as Oglesby, he might have joined SDS. (p. 170) After Robert Kennedy died, Haynes even called up Oglesby and urged SDS to riot: “Get your people out and tear the goddamn place into pieces.” (Oglesby, p. 188)

According to Oglesby, the Dohrn/Klonsky wing was highly suspicious of SDS’s joining in any programs with Business International. Oglesby’s memoir recounts long discussions and interrogations of Oglesby — led by Dohrn, Klonsky, and Arlene Bergman — over Oglesby’s development of SDS links with Business International.

Of all the firms in all the world, Obama had to walk into the one that years before had closer ties to SDS than any other mainstream business in the world. What luck!

UPDATE: In researching the background for this post, I discovered that most online timelines of Obama’s employment history are incorrect. Obama began working for Business International in 1984, not 1983. His resume doesn’t list anything for the 6-7 months after his probable graduation date, which if he graduated at the usual time would probably have been in May or June of 1983.

Imagine that! Obama might have deeper ties to SDS than anyone thought. and to think that Bill Ayers was just a guy in the neighborhood!

military absentee ballots are being delayed!

This came home to my family this week. We learned from our grandson, a Lance Corporal in a Marine Combat Engineer unit in Iraq, that his absentee ballot, requested well over a month ago, was received by him on Thursday. His parents traced the matter with the local post office and found it had left there on September 29. It took a full month to reach him. By mailing it back this last Friday he has a very slim chance it will reach the elections office in Arlington, Virginia, in time to be counted. His parents were told by that office that if it did not reach them by 5 p.m.. on election day it would not be counted. Thus, the election office is holding our service men and women overseas responsible for the behavior of the U.S. Postal Service.

There are two things wrong with this picture. This year there is a system for armed services personnel overseas to register online and, in a few states, to vote online. This was not universally publicized to all units and should have been — early. Also, the Department of Defense should have made an all-out effort with all 50 states to get them to accept online voting (with proper security). To the extent such an effort did not succeed, the DoD should have secured (by Act of Congress if necessary) to have overseas military ballots counted, provided they were postmarked, say, as late as five or seven days before the election day.

plenty of people have urged Pelosi and Reed to fix this problem but, as expected, they won’t budge….maybe it’s because military personnel are voting for McCain with a 3 to 1 margin.

It doesn’t matter whether you live in a coal producing state or not, Barky’s plan to bankrupt coal- as confirmed by his loose mouth running mate Joe- is bad news for all of America. Coal must be part of our energy independence plan. For national security as well as economic security. Investments in clean coal and safer mining will keep our energy dollars here at home, circulating within our own economy. Creating both blue and white collar jobs- construction workers, operators, miners, occupational health specialists, environmental scientists and engineers, technology development and manufacturers. And let’s not forget, our corporate and business “neighbors” property taxes help fund our schools and build our roads, taking the burden off individual home owners.

I know my party- the Democrats- have used environmental scare tactics for decades as a wedge issue. But I am here to tell you it is not the 1970’s. Environmental protection technology and regulation has improved so much. Things can be done safer and better than ever before.
