Political indoctrination has become all too common in the public schools. I get the feeling that the teachers think that they need to overcome everything that my child’s evil parents have taught him. My middle schooler comes home and discusses a lot of this stuff with me, but I know lots of kids never mention it. I was surprised to find out that his geography class last year included a three week focus on Islam with readings from the Koran. I know that they feel justified in this because of the many misconceptions about Islam, but I think that reading the Koran, and three weeks for 12 year olds is a bit much. I know they’d never spend three weeks on Christianity, nor would they even think about reading from the Bible, and there’s plenty of misconceptions about that religion as well.

The FEC really should take one glance at this and sound the sirens. Hopefully your work will be used to pursue Obama’s flagrantly fraudulent campaign fund raising. Thx.

Thank you– goes to show what one person with the knowledge and a question can do.

These errors should have been caught by the Obama campaign.

McCain and Clinton were doing their bit — making sure that donations were both legal an transparent. The law was perhaps written expecting there to be some honor in a politician seeking the highest office in the land.

What we are learning is that — that guy — has exploited every loop hole — or ignored the law.

My wish is that Obama goes to jail for a long time — which crime will be his ticket into jail???

my understanding is that people can (and are) buying debit cards and simply donating online under any ole name- this is insanity that he’s getting away with this. 7)

What I can’t understand is how prepaid credit cards can be accepted– or doesn’t that show up till the money is in? Would their numbers show that they are prepaid? I contributed many times to a campaign, and whenever I misspelled a word or got a number wrong or forgot anything my donation was not accepted, and I had to do it over. There has to be a way to establish checks and balances. Reform is definitely needed.

I think there is far more chance of immediate impeachment proceedings over his actions regarding his dear aunt in Boston. It is now becoming clear, even admitted by the campaign, that he knew she was there, worked with Governor Devel Patrick to watch her, likely got her into the public housing, got her the job, and maybe even got money to her. These are felonies while many of the campaign finance issues are simply civil matters.

It happens all the time. Last year, we had an English teacher that called Bush a liar every two seconds and blasted Republicans. She was a nice teacher, but man oh man, if we went over a story that had something political in it at all or if someone mentioned a political event, she would explode into a furry of Bush bashing, War bashing, and Republican bashing.

This year though, Gov and Psych are real bad. It’s an election year and man, the tension in the class is so thick people could use it to butter toast. The teacher gives a left leaning spin and bashes Republicans. When we were doing the history of the party systems, she said this election will most likely be a ground-shaking election and that the country will lean more left and that all the policies that the Republicans have held up will go through. That same day, she called Newt Gingrich a far right bomb thrower and almost called Ann Coulter a whacked (”bitch” but she used the word woman) and said that she represented hate and evilness. (That may or may not be true, I could say the same thing about Bill Maher and Barack Obama). She said that we needn’t fear Barack that we were being irrational if we actually feared he would do anything bad. Only five conservatives in our 30 student AP Gov class and it is a nightmare. If Nobama wins, I can’t imagine what Thursday will be like (we have it every other day). NIGHTMARE!!!! And I bet the teacher will be grinning and talking about the historic nature of the election. SICKENING!!!

I think you should talk to the school board. Get a few intelligent parents to complain about the indoctrination going on. This is wrong. You should not in any way have to be subjected to this in an academic environment.

Are there no parents at your school who don’t insist that this kind of thing in an academic environment is not right? A teacher should not, under any circumstance, try to influence a student’s political thinking. The student has a right only to objective information and no overt pressure to think one way or another.

I can’t even imagine how this has anything to do with an English class. I am a retired English teacher. It would have had no place in my classroom. I followed the curriculum and tried to teache English.
