I Did Not Know, I Did Not Hear, I Did Not See—Barack Obama

The common theme from Obama’s adoring media in these last hours before the polls open is that he did not know that his aunt’s asylum claim was denied and that she was ordered deported, did not know that she was in the country for the past four years illegally in defiance of that deportation order, did not know that she was living illegally in Boston public housing, and did not know that she had contributed close to three hundred dollars to his campaign.
Further, it has been recently noted that he also did not know that his Kenya-residing grandmother, Sarah Hussein Obama, was living in squalor. On top of this incredulous set of circumstances, Obama’s nutroots gangs are pushing the talking point that this is all a smear, based on data that no one should know about.
Yeah, right. If there is no other defining character trait fitting for Barack Obama, it is that he is a pathological liar always ready with an “I did not know, I did not hear, and I did not see.” In almost every case that Obama has used this defense it has eventually been proven a lie.
On November 1, Truthteller had an excellent piece on this very point, “A Dolt and a Thug, Obama Claims He Knows Nothing,” in which Truthteller wrote:
One would think Obama would know the immigration status of his aunt after he rendered her into a textual spectacle in his 1996 memoir entitled Dreams of My Father. One would also think a relative would have contacted him in 2004 in order to inform the aspiring US Senator and Illinois political official that auntie needed assistance with her asylum petition. After all, auntie attended Obama’s swearing-in to the US Senate the same year her asylum petition was unfavorably adjudicated. Moreover, one would think that Obama would have been informed by someone related to his aunt that she donated tainted money to his campaign. And furthermore, the Obama campaign must have asked Obama a question or two after an article on Obama’s aunt surfaced a few days ago in the London Times. Surely they would have asked about the aunt’s immigration status after it was revealed she fraudulently donated $260 to the campaign from her public housing address in South Boston.
Also on Nov. 1, Truthteller had another excellent piece, “Obama Relegates Aunt Who Resides Illegally in US to the Shadows While Taking Her Campaign Contributions, ” which I commend to you, as well as American Girl in Italy’s exceptional piece on Obama’s aunt on Oct. 30, “If You Are Not Caring For Your Own Family…“.
As you read this, keep in mind Barack Obama’s recent statement:
“Most people understand that if you are not caring for your family, then you are probably not the kind of person who is going to be caring for other people.”—Barack Obama, October 23, 2008
We now know that Obama had contact with his aunt as recently as 2006, two years after her deportation order, which implies that he knew she was here illegally. What is more, it seems that Obama and Governor Patrick colluded to help his aunt
- Has he financially helped her? If not, why not?
- As a newly minted U.S. Senator, why didn’t he help his aunt with her asylum claim in 2004?
- How does he justify his recent comment that, “this is a country of laws and that his aunt should be deported (!)” with the evidence that he knew she was still here?
Then there is the matter of financial assistance for is family. Why is his dear grandmother in Kenya living in squalor? Obama has been a penny pincher with regards to charities (2000-4: 0.88% of his AGI, 2005-6: 5.22%) but has spoke often of families and the support and care they should share with each other. He has visited Kenya on several occasions and cannot credibly say that he did not know where his grandmother lived and in what conditions. Why did he not help her? Additionally, why did he not sponsor her to join in him in the U.S.? Why is his brother still living in squalor? What happened to being his brother’s keeper? Or his grandmother’s? Or his aunt’s?
Well, one thing is for sure, Obama was not constrained by finances. Here is his adjusted gross income for the past seven years:
- 2000: $240,505
- 2001: $272,769
- 2002: $259,394
- 2003: $238,327
- 2004: $207,657
- 2005: $1,655,106
- 2006: $983,826
- 2007: $4,139,965
Right. Obama does not suffer from a lack of funds with which to help his family.
Back to the “I didn’t know, didn’t hear, and didn’t see” mantra that exemplifies Obama’s campaign season. It is simply unbelievable. Like I said, we’ve heard it all before from him on a number of issues. There are two major examples that highlight his dupicity: Reverend Wright and domestic terrorist William Ayers:
Reverend Jeremiah Wright.
- Barack Obama described Reverend Wright as his spiritual guide, mentor, and friend.
- Barack sat in Reverend Wright’s church pews for over 20 years.
- Reverend Wright married Barack and Michelle Obama. He also baptized their two daughters.
- Together Barack Obama and Reverend Wright helped their mutual friend, Minister Louis Farrakhan, organize his 1995 Million Man March.
- Obama directed tens of thousands of dollars to his church from organizations he directed.
- When details of Trinity United Church of Christ and Reverend Wright came out, Obama lied and claimed he had not heard anything controversial from his pastor friend or from his church.
- Obama said he did not know his church and pastor promoted Marxist-oriented Black Liberation Theology.
- Obama said he did not know his church and reverend promoted the view that the United States was a white racist nation and that the white church was the Antichrist.
- Obama said he did not know that his church and pastor repeatedly praised their mutual friend, Minister Farrakhan.
- Obama said he did not know his pastor and church blamed the U.S. as the source of the AIDS epidemic, nor that they claimed its goal is to wipe out minorities.
- Obama said he did not know his pastor and church blamed the U.S. for 9/11.
- Obama said he did not know that his friend and pastor damned America from the pulpit of Obama’s church.
- After all of these claims, after 20 years of sitting in the pew, Obama abandoned his friend and church for the political expediency of his presidential campaign. He’s since admitted he may have heard some controversial things but refuses to discuss it further.
William Ayers.
- Barack Obama dismissed William Ayers back in April as ‘just some guy in his neighborhood’ and claimed he knew nothing of Ayers’ terrorist past, even dismissing Ayer’s terrorism as something that occurred when he was only eight years old. While Ayers’ founded the Weather Underground in the 1960s, he led it on a bombing spree that lasted to 1981 in a quest to overthrow the U.S. He even called for youth to kill their parents. After escaping prosecution because of technicalities, Ayers was quoted by David Horowitz in 1981 as bragging “Guilty as hell. Free as a bird. America is a great country.”
- Ayers remains unrepentant to this day.
- “This guy” in the neighborhood shared common cause in the 1980s working through companion organizations funded by William Ayers’ father, Tom Ayers, to protest the local education system in Chicago.
- “This guy” in the neighborhood hired Obama to chair his Chicago Annenberg Challenge in 1995. Together, from 1995 to 2001, they spent $160 million in failed education projects, some that benefited their friends, including Reverend Wright.
- “This guy” in the neighborhood helped Obama begin his political career in 1995, hosting a get-together at his and domestic terrorist-wife Bernadine Dohrn’s home and by contributing to his campaign.
- “This guy” in the neighborhood received money from organizations that Obama headed. They also directed funds to Ayers’ fellow terrorists, his wife Bernadine Dohrn and Michael Klonsky, who would become an advisor to Obama
- Obama wrote a short review for one of Ayers books in 1998.
- Obama joined Ayers in at least one joint panel organized by Michelle Obama in 1997.
- Michelle Obama and Bernadine Dohrn worked together at the law firm Sidley Austin. Among Sidley Austin’s clients were Commonwealth Edison led by Tom Ayers, William’s father. Barack worked with them during a summer internship while in law school.
- Michelle Obama and terrorist Bernadine Dohrn worked together with several local Chicago groups.
- Obama and Ayers traveled to New York City in 2003 and toasted their mutual friend, Rashid Khalidi, the former spokesman for the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO). While a video of the event has not been released, there was a LA Times article that contained a number of comments made during this dinner, which included an anti-Israel poem read by a young man. The next year, Khalidi and his wife Mona, also a former member of the PLO, hosted fundraisers for Obama’s U.S. Senate campaign.
- And Ayers, is not a “former” terrorist, as Obama would like us to believe. Ayers is unrepentant. In an interview published on September 11, 2001, he boasted “I don’t regret settings bombs. I feel we didn’t do enough.”
- In 2002 Barack, Ayers, and Dohrn participated together in a conference and panel entitled “Intellectuals: Who needs Them?”
- In promoting his autobiography, Ayers had himself photographed stomping on the U.S. flag.
- Later, he says he condemned Ayer’s actions. He even defended himself saying that he was only 8 years old when Ayers, Bernadine Dohrn, and Michael Klonsky, were active terrorists.
The bottom line is that Obama is a pathological liar whose defining character trait is the lies, misstatements, and omissions of I did not know, I did not hear, and I did not see. In my opinion, that is not a qualification for president. I urge everyone to set party affiliations aside and vote for Senator John McCain and Governor Palin.

His constant refrain of “did not know” is one of the best reasons to NOT vote for Soertoro/Obama. If this tumultuous, sprawling campaign mechanism he created is too much for his brain to handle, what will he miss as president and commander in chief of the United States? He’s better suited for small things; like playing the star role at the Denver Greek stage show.
Maybe he can even get a deal on long-term rental of those fake Greek columns? As well, wonder if he has any credit left with ACORN for the nearly $1 million for “lighting, stage, and sound”?

Not to detract from the many valid points made in your post, while there is an immigration category for U.S. citizens to spnsor their parents and siblings (the sibling category is backlogged for many years), there is no category for sponsoring grandparents (or aunts, for that matter). That being said, there are some things that Obama could have done short of sponsorship, and it appears that he may have actually done “something”, in that his aunt improperly enjoys public housing, and she has been left alone by ICE (at least until her case became higher profile), and this may have been a matter of administrative forebearance (wink, wink) on the part of ICE, a form of discretionary administrative grace that they do not usually shower on mere mortals. He could have also secured top notch immigration legal counsel for her, but that may have required cash, not just flowery oratory.
Also, as a U.S. Senator, he could have sponsored his aunt for a “private bill” (actually, he would more likely have another friendly Senator (like Teddy Kennedy) introduce and sponsor the bill, to avoid the appearance of impropriety.) Such private bills are a rarity, and they usually involve some horse trading, but if they go through, the beneficiary of the bill gets a “green card”.
Sorry for the third posting but I just thought of something else. If Obama had sponsored his brother for an immigrant visa, as the petitioner, he would have been required to establish his U.S. citizenship to the satisfaction of the USCIS.

ARLINGTON, VA — The McCain-Palin campaign launched the Honest and Open Election hotline to help citizens learn the location of their polling place, as well as report any instances of irregularities at the polls, including voter fraud, intimidation, violence and electioneering. The hotline can be accessed via phone at: 866-976-VOTE.
“With the tomorrow’s election, our Honest and Open Election hotline will serve as an informative guide for all Americans participating in the electoral process,” said McCain-Palin National Political Director Mike DuHaime. “The hotline will allow us to learn about and take steps toward remedying any voter irregularities at polling places across the country. While we are hopeful that Election Day will be free of any wrongdoing, allies of the Democrat Party, such as ACORN, have shown a willingness to commit fraud in both this election cycle and in 2004. Given the tightness of the polls, all examples of fraud must be addressed to preserve the integrity of the election.”
In 2004, multiple forms of voter fraud occurred, including voter intimidation, fraudulent registrations, multiple ballots cast and votes bought for money. Already during the 2008 election cycle, a dead woman in Missouri cast an absentee ballot, individuals were arrested for voting twice in Florida and people in Ohio registered and voted on the same day.

I teach in an inner-city school. I was discussing with the students some of the issues in this election. BO’s eligibility came up. I explained that some people question his eligibility under the U.S. Constitution, Article II. I pointed to the discrepancy between the document he posted on his web site – “Certification of Live Birth” – and his claims that he produced his “Birth Certificate.” I referenced the State of HI web site. The students were furious; they went to another teacher for solace. He insisted, BO was eligible for POTUS. The students returned to me. ‘My other teacher said, BO is eligible.’ I asked, ‘Has he seen the man’s Birth Certificate?’ They went back to that teacher; he reported to Administration that I was pushing my politics on the students. Administration spoke to me; I explained my lesson about the difference between the two documents. The Administrator said, ‘Well, there is a difference!’

Hillary may have a future in the Democratic Party, but only if Obama loses this election. My guess is they voted McCain. I think you’re right she’s doing what she has to stay politically alive, although it makes me nuts, but I believe the Clinton’s love this Country. If you love this Country you vote McCain. No other way.
Obama is fond of saying he knows nothing about anything. Obviously he’s telling the truth and thus is not prepared to be president.
On the subject of his “beloved” aunt, as a senator, Obama has the clout to file an appeal on her behalf. Why didn’t he? Could it be that he would have to prove his citizenship status to act as her sponsor-which might reveal he is not a “natural born” citizen or possesses dual citizenship?
Food for thought.

This story leaves out the possible criminal acts:
As most of America knows, Barack Obama is now poised to sweep to victory with at least 300 Electoral Votes, holding a massive eight point lead on average nationally over McCain at this late date. Several stories have bubbled up in the past few days, such as Obama’s comments on the coal industry, his alleged crude gesture towards McCain at a rally today and the identification of his Aunt as living in Boston, albeit without Obama’s knowledge according to his campaign. However, none of these stories seem to have the sheer force to push McCain up the giant electoral hill facing him tomorrow.
A late breaking story today could make the next 24 hours much more interesting as explosive allegations were published today in the American Spectator regarding Obama’s Aunt Zeituni Onyango (”Auntie Z”) confirming that the Obama Campaign and Mass. Governor Deval Patrick had knowledge of her illegal status and willful violation of the 2004 deportation order as early as 2007. If true, such actions by the Obama campaign and Patrick could constitute criminal acts according to Section 1324 under 8 U.S.C.A. 1324 (a)(1)(A)(iii) and (v).
The main source on for the published article regarding the Obama campaign’s knowledge of Auntie Z’s situation is an employee at AKP&D Message and Media, which is a political consulting firm employed by the Obama campaign. A secondary source for the fact that the Obama campaign was well aware of the status of Obama’s family members is an Obama campaign media aide. The gist of the allegations is that in early 2007, David Axelrod, the crack chief strategist for the Obama campaign, ordered a full investigation of all of Obama’s family members to prepare/defend against possible political attacks regarding Obama’s family during the campaign.
Obama’s position is that he had no knowledge of Auntie Z’s status as an illegal alien:
KATIE COURIC: you have an aunt who’s been living in this country apparently illegally, and your campaign says any and all appropriate laws should be followed. So would you support her being deported to Kenya?
SEN. BARACK OBAMA: If she has violated laws, then those laws have to be obeyed. We’re a nation of laws. And, obviously, that doesn’t lessen my concern for her. I haven’t been able to get in touch with her. But, I’m a strong believer that you obey the law.
According the main source at OBama’s political consulting firm, AKP&D Message and Media, here’s how Obama’s campaign came into knowledge of Auntie Z’s status and how it was dealt with:
Axelrod had actual knowledge of Auntie Z and all other relatives in early 2007, and decided to use Deval Patrick as a monitor over Auntie Z to make sure she stayed out of trouble and out of the media’s eye:
Back in early 2007, as Obama’s chief campaign strategist David Axelrod was organizing and planning the Obama campaign, he identified Obama’s unique family situation — a number of half-brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, some living overseas — as a potential problem, says an employee for Axelrod’s political consulting firm, and who has done work on the Obama campaign. “Given [Obama's] father’s family history here and in Africa, David wanted the campaign to know who was who, where they lived, and what they were doing. No surprises. We knew she was here illegally. We knew her income levels, but I don’t think anyone from the campaign had had contact with her.”
Instead, according to the source, Axelrod reached out to his former client, Patrick, who had retained Axelrod’s firm for his run for governor. Onyango was living in a state-funded housing project, “so Patrick’s people could just as easily keep track of things, and could do it without drawing a ton of attention,” says the AKP&D Message and Media employee, who requested anonymity as he hopes to get a job in an Obama administration should the candidate win. “If we had Obama people around, the media would probably have found her much sooner. She was in [Obama's] book, it wasn’t like she couldn’t be found.” Indeed, that is exactly how the London Times found her.
While the South Boston housing project is managed by the Boston Housing Authority, it is a state-funded facility, according to the BHA press office, and so it would not be uncommon for state housing officials to be on the grounds or in the area. “Patrick was the go-between, he’s trusted by David and Senator Obama,” says the aide.
An Obama campaign aide, the second source, at least partially confirms the AKP&D Message and Media employee’s account with respect to Axelrod’s knowledge of all Obama relatives:
Some Obama aides believe that Obama was briefed at least twice by Axelrod or campaign manager David Plouffe on the status of family members. “We tracked who was talking to the press, we kept in touch with some of these people,” says an Obama campaign media aide. “Anyone who thinks we didn’t doesn’t understand just how nervous we were about all of these people, particularly the members of [Obama's] father’s family. Axelrod had everything covered.” The aide said she was never present for such a briefing, but “we all knew the candidate’s family was being taken care of, to protect their privacy and try to contain any damage.”
To summarize, according to the two sources quoted by American Spectator, the Obama campaign was well aware of Auntie Z’s immigration status and presence in America in early 2007. Furthermore, if true, the Obama’s campaign used Axelrod’s client and Obama’s ally, Patrick, to keep watch over Auntie Z until after the election. The allegations of the two sources is confirmed in part by Auntie Z’s quoted response to the British press before they broke the story:
“I can’t talk about it, I just pray for him, that’s all,” she said, adding: “After the 4th, I can talk to anyone.”
It is well within the realm of possibility that Auntie Z would have only known to refuse comment if she was told to say that, likely by the Obama campaign. The two sources, Obama’s political consultant’s employee and the Obama campaign media aide, bolster this likely occurrance. The importance to tomorrow’s election becomes whether or not such agreement between the Obama campaign and Patrick to “monitor” Auntie Z until the election is a vioation of federal immigration laws, namely 8 U.S.C.A. 1324(a)(1)(a)(iii) and (v), which prohibit as a felony:
(a) Criminal Penalties
(1)(a) Any person who…
(iii) knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that an alien has come to, entered, or remains in the United States in violation of law, conceals, harbors, or shields from detection, or attempts to conceal, harbor, or shield from detection, such alien in any place, including any building or any means of transportation;…
(v)(I) engages in any conspiracy to commit any of the preceding acts, or
(II) aids or abets the commission of any of the preceding acts,
If the Obama campaign had knowledge of Auntie Z’s immigration status in early 2007, and then Axelrod worked with Patrick to suppress any uncovering of such status since then, there is an arguable violation of the statute above as such actions would each constitute an individual act which “conceals, harbors, or shields from detection, or attempts to conceal, harbor, or shield from detection, such alien”, as spelled out in (iii) in the statute above. Any Obama campaign employees or Patrick staffers could be liable for conspiracy to commit violations of the Section 1324 and aiding and abetting violations of Section 1324 under subsection (v).
A review of case law regarding this matter tends to support the position that the Obama campaign’s activities, in conjunction with Mass. Governor Patrick, could have violated Section 1324. Indeed, the entire purpose of Axelrod’s alleged contacts with Patrick regarding Auntie Z was to suppress the public disclosure of Auntie Z’s illegal alien status and the lawful, immediate deportation under the 2004 Order. If true, the statements quoted in the American Spectator make out a prima facia case for a criminal indictment under Section 1324. As the 5th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals, U.S. v. Cantu, 557 F.2d 1173 (5th Cir. 1977) opines:
We agree with the conclusion in Lopez that section 1324 does not prohibit only smuggling-related activity, but also activity “tending substantially to facilitate an alien’s ‘remaining in the United States illegally.’ ” 521 F.2d at 441.
Jury instruction as to meaning of “shield.” Cantu requested that, in charging the jury concerning the meaning of “shield” as used in section 1324, the district judge include as a synonym the word “hide.” The judge declined to include “hide,” and Cantu contends that this refusal was error. Although “shield” and “hide” may in some contexts be synonymous, in the context of section 1324 they are not. Section 1324 forbids attempts “to conceal, harbor, or shield from detection.” Were “shield from detection” used synonymously with “hide” then “conceal” would be redundant. Therefore, the district judge did not err in omitting from his charge “hide” as a synonym for “shield from detection.”
If Axelrod coordinated with Patrick to keep watch over Auntie Z since early 2007, with knowledge of Auntie Z’s status as facing a deportation order, a prima facia case can be made under Section 1324 for a criminal indictment. Considering the seriousness of these allegations, CentristNet hopes that the mainstream media moves to ask these questions before America votes tomorrow. Moderate, centrist and independent voters will be on the edge of their seats to see what the Obama campaign and the mainstream media has to say about his interesting controversy.
The ultimate question is whether voters agree with Obama’s position that he had no knowledge of Auntie Z’s situation, or whether voters tend to distrust Obama’s position that he had no knowledge. Perhaps such issues will be irrelevant as Obama has promised not to speak wth the press until after the election. Regardless, the Auntie Z episode leaves many questions unanswered by the Obama campaign, and every centrist, independent moderate voter can only hope that the Obama campaign decides to provide information regarding their actions pertaining to Auntie Z prior to the election tomorrow.

I just voted and there was a long line. Lots of first time voters who couldn’t figure out how to work the machines. I live in New York and we use the old fashioned lever machines – although I’m told this is the last time for those faithful servants.

This AA female who lives in Chicago voted early for McCain-Palin. I never wavered in my support of Sen. McCain after the nomination was stolen from Hillary. It was a three-hour wait. While waiting in a room with about 70 or 80 AA’s of all ages, one person spoke up in a joking way and asked if anyone was voting for McCain. I said that I was voting for Sen. McCain. The entire room became totally silent, looking at me in total unbelief. The person who asked the question wanted to know why I was not voting for Obama. I said that I felt that it would be a serious mistake for me to vote for a rookie for president at such a critical time in American history, regardless of his or her race or ethnicity. I said that it would be similar to sending a third grader who was just learning to play baseball to pitch the last game of the world series. We had a spirited but very respectful conversation. Some people were noticably angry, but did not say anything. I had a lot of fun praising Sen. McCain and Gov. Palin.

Rev. Wright has every right to have his own view of America. Rev. Wright make a lot of important and truthful comments about this country. It is a good thing that Obama went to hear his view on life and America. It is good to open oneself up to many different views on life.
The great virtue of America is that people are allowed to complain about the government and the country. It does not make them any less American. Ayers and Wright have every right to voice their views no matter how controversial (like this website). And Obama has every right to listen to those views, whether he agrees with them or not. Now if Ayers was a criminal put him in jail, but he still has a right to fight for what he believes in.
