And Justice For All
By Ani on November 8, 2008 at 12:22 PM in Barack Obama, Democrats, John McCain, Patrick Fitzgerald, Tony Rezko
It is very difficult to reconcile Obama being elected to the presidency. I want him exposed for all his empty rhetoric, fraudulent tactics, race baiting, sexism and using homophobia to his advantage, but I don’t want to see my beloved country falling down around our ears just so I can say I told you so.
I’d like to believe Patrick Fitzgerald will come riding to the rescue with some indictment linking Obama to Rezko, or announce a racketeering indictment relating to all the caucus and voter fraud, but I don’t believe that will happen for a second. I’d like to think that, as nature abhors a vacuum, the media will turn their critical lens on Obama and start airing the truth. It is too little too late and I don’t know that I believe that either.
How do a reconcile the deep love I feel for my country and my upset with people already losing their homes and savings, yet wanting to see the new administration put us to rights again. Do I have faith that they can? Based on what I’ve seen from both Obama and the current Democratic leadership, I have no reason to.
I posted an article the other day condemning his election tactics as well as casting a jaundiced eye on those who allowed themselves to vote against their own interests in assisting his election. However, I said a few words at the conclusion about still being willing to open my heart and lend support, if only for my country’s sake, and I got some grief on the boards about it.
This is a tough one because I feel blackmailed into support by our current dire circumstances and by a media that deserves to be figuratively horsewhipped in the town square due to their irresponsible “journalism” and lack of honest coverage of all the candidates. It is also impossible to think the media would ever allow a huge scandal to break, given how much they were in bed with an Obama candidacy in the first place. Although, the dollar is king, so if it sells copy…
It is also a conflict to feel deeply moved by the historical aspect of Barack Obama’s election and I certainly understand the joy of the African American community, and all Americans that this barrier has been passed. I just wish that this honor and accomplishment was bestowed upon someone more qualified and less disingenuous.
David Axelrod, the DNC power elite and the media have thrown a lavish, yearlong dinner party for this man and stuck us with the bill. Is it possible for our country to succeed and get back on its feet in the near term if he fails? Or do we want that kind of failure, as only failure of enormous magnitude will shake the latte sippers and blackberry bloggers from their stupor enough to realize something’s gotta give here.
Pardon me, but I cannot wish ill. Too many hard working people are in need out there and are looking for answers and all they are hearing is hopey changey. As many wonderful NoQ readers have pointed out in recent days, if he keeps his empty rhetoric up, the electorate will awaken soon enough.
It is very safe to say I will not be drinking kool-aid anytime soon nor will I be sucked into the Obama collective. It is vital that citizens keep the pressure on our elected local, state and national representatives, the media and if necessary, their advertisers. Is it naïve to think that will make a difference? I refuse to be that pessimistic. If I allow that to creep over me, I won’t take action but curl up in a ball in the corner – and I will not give anyone the satisfaction of seeing me do that.
I really don’t have adequate words to describe the rage I feel at the third presidential election in a row feeling stolen and/or decided by those not doing their homework.
Is it best to adopt a wait and see attitude? To see if it’s possible to keep him out of office by legal means in the first place? How many of us, after the primary was forcibly shut down felt that he would implode before the convention, yet the hope never materialized. How many thought ‘spread the wealth around’ would surely do him in? Nope.
If and after he is indeed inaugurated, do I just shut the TV off for the next four years – or keep making noise, hoping some of our representatives will add something to the debate that will help. I will forever blame myself for not protesting out in the street in December of 2000 but in our pre-9/11 mindset, most did not know just how bad our compliance would be.
The rage is perfectly understandable and perfectly justifiable. I am searching for the way to make it effective and not destructive – either to me or my fellow citizens working hard for their families or to those in the military and their families, sacrificing daily for our country.
Most infuriating is that Donna Brazile basically sent out a missive months ago saying “message to base – stay home.” And they got this guy elected anyway – in great part because a bunch of Republicans decided to stay home. I hope in retrospect they are likewise happy with their irresponsible decision. It is interesting to note that PUMAs did have an effect on the election as I believe 3 million voted for Senator McCain. What was not taken into account, and was certainly beyond PUMA control, is that 6 million Republicans chose to sit on their hands.
The DNC may have behaved as though we didn’t exist but we do. Our voices matter and they will not be silenced. Through all of that I can still wish my country Godspeed, even though I am furious at the blind part of the electorate that has perpetrated what I feel is a disaster on all of us by electing this unqualified man to office.
Speaking only for myself, I have lots to sort out and am still reeling from the shock that at one of the most difficult and troubling times in our nations’ history, America has chosen American Idol over competence, patriotism, knowledge and experience. Regardless of party.
How do we want to participate in an administration, either critically or constructively, that has acted as though millions of us are completely invisible and our thoughts and contributions nonexistent? At this moment the answer is admittedly well above my pay grade.
Your thoughts on this would be deeply appreciated.

FNC Easing Up On Pres.-Elect Obama?
The New York Daily News says so:
Fox News boss Roger Ailes doesn’t want to spoil Barack Obama’s political honeymoon, we hear. A source says Ailes has told prime-time hosts Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity and Greta Van Susteren to lay off the President-elect – at least for a while. “We’re not going to have any personal attacks on Obama,” a network insider says. “The public has spoken – we must treat him with respect.”

THIS IS NOT TRUE
by Greta Van Susteren
THIS IS NOT TRUE- TV NEWSWER NEVER CHECKED WITH ME AND THE DAILY NEWS IS MAKING THIS UP !!
I just copied the below from tvnewser.com. THIS IS A BIG FAT LIE.
No one has ever told me to do or not do something at Fox or how to do something…I use my own judgment for my work and I show respect to politicians – win or lose. No one needs to tell me to be respectful – I am respectful (although I am also unafraid to call someone out on something.) I will continue to show respect.
Incidentally, neither President Elect Obama campaign nor Senator McCain campaign ever complained to me that I got it wrong or was unfair and we made calls daily to both campaigns…I work very hard to be fair to both sides and I give equal opportunity to both sides and give the same type interviews to both sides…I will continue to do my work as I always have without influence from anyone….and with exercise of my best judgment…
….as an aside, I have not seen or spoken to Roger in 6 months!
(I work in DC and when I am in NYC I am running around getting ready for ON THE RECORD…the only time I see Roger is when I schedule a lunch or a dinner with him and I have not done that in at least 6 months….this reminds me, however, that it is time for me to schedule a lunch with Roger because from time to time we like to catch up with each other.)

Greta has the most integrity of any “journalist” on the air waves (Lou Dobbs is right up there with her). This election season sure opened my eyes to biased media and I will never again be able to watch the news with any trust of what is being fed to me is the truth. I will not be brainwashed.
I KNOW!! I have been telling my self that ever since this election as well.
Her hubby was a big Hillary supporter who is very open about not supporting OVomit.
God bless Greta — she has beem amazing this election season. Honorable mention to Lou Dobbs as well.
YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE THIS.
Sarah Palin blamed by the US Secret Service over death threats against Barack Obama
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/uselection2008/sarahpalin/3405336/Sarah-Palin-blamed-by-the-US-Secret-Service-for-death-threats-against-Barack-Obama.html
This will make you sick. I am shaking.
I can’t believe this is happening. They are out to get her. It is world-wide. F*ckers
You’re right — I’m sickened. The “kill him” story was refuted by Secret Service and other law enforcement on the scene. Don’t “journalists” research stories anymore? What a lazy profession.
The jackals in the McCain campaign are trying to salvage their careers and torpedo her ambitions, because they certainly must know that they will not be part of the team next time, mainly because of their terrible work on this campaign, and now because of this horrible smear campaign. I wonder if Larry can find out who these leakers are.
the telegraph is nothing more than a tabloid rag. my dad is from england and says that paper is a joke over there.
I’m from the UK and would agree with that. The Telegraph has always been right-leaning though in the past it has had a reputation for quality writing despite this. However in recent years standards have plummeted as they have on most ‘quality’ titles over here. Even the Guardian (previously known as the liberal standard bearer) has had some risible writing/editorial angles lately, especially in coverage of the US election. Explains why most UK liberals drool over Obama – they don’t get to hear anything critical of him.
Great post, Ani. Even though we are in a very precarious position economically in our country, I will find it hard to support this administration. I believe they are a huge part of the financial problem for which all of us will have to pay and keep on paying. I also don’t think this is a particularly historic moment – and if people blast me for this view – so be it. There is nothing historic about stealing elections, IMO, nor about disenfranchising voters, or misogyny, or sexism, or out and out fraud and corruption, and then let us not forget the terrorists both foreigh and domestic – nothing historic about any of this. If we even buy into this “historic BS” even marginally I think we’re also buying into this fraudulent election. And here I thought Bush and his Party were repulsive crooks, silly me, my Party turned out to be even worse.
Thank you Greta Von S and Lou Dobbs for your journalistic integrity. Right again, Ani!
14% of Hillary supporters did not vote for him. If we could divide Obama’s 53 million, would it not be 14% of the half of Hillary’s portion? Wouldn’t therefore PUMAS represent around 3.5 million+?
I’m not sure on this MATH and I’m a Woman. And Pleease don’t let Obama’s misogynist Creepy choice for treasurer and former fired due to sexism president of Harvard LARRY SUMMERS tell you my gender’s the reason for not giving you perfect math on this!
Obama has not named a single woman of feminist creds! Just the little ladies of the Michele Obamyopic gals…
Greta was a great lawyer and lost all her integrity when she started getting her paycheck from the faux snooze network. I lost all respect for her when she took that job.
HELP!!!!
Google’s free blog hosting site Blogger is not allowing me to add No Quarter as a link on my blog roll!!!!!!
I am a true traditional Democrat opposed to Obama’s left wing radical policies. I started a blog today on that today.
WHAT IS GOING ON????
I can add other links but not No Quarter. It returns a javascript void error which means it just won’t allow it.
Pay less than 10 bucks a month for a Typepad blog…Google owns Blogger, so that says it right there, doesn’t it.
http://www.typepad.com
no it’ doesn’t say anything. I’ve got a blogger account and added noquarter ages ago-
obviously the poster is having another issue problem-
Nancy Pelosi is a major investor in Typepad – an S.F.-based company.
As I posted in the other thread – Blogger has a history of censoring anti-Obama blogs. Go put your blog on wordpress.com instead.
that is not true at all.. jesus people stop the BS. I have a very anti obambi blog there and have had it a long long time, it started out as an anti bush admin/war blog-
i have no problems adding links.. the person obviously is having an issue they didn’t explain thoroughly so we can help them post it correctly.
Whatever happended to Larry Sinclair’s WordPress blog? Does anyone know? I know it’s off, but I’d like to know why he was approached by a “prestigious, high-powered laywer” who wanted to “take on my case”—Bambi must have been worried and poor Larry was boughht off!
I save all my favorites in a word document. I keep it open and can click on the links ez. Really esier than bookmarks to me. Less information going to Google too which is a heavy Obama supporter. In fact I will change by browser right now and use another seach engine. I am sick of them. All the fascists who have made their money and now want us to be enslaved for the benefit of lazy people. Screw them, the lazy people and the fascists.
Google presents a highly limited perspective, doesn’t it, just by the alogrithms it uses to return results.
Over dependence on it can really limit ones exposure to new ideas, and new pages, especially if one is part of the same community, it’s a bubble.
Add the censoring, and forget it, it’s toast.
Its’ not OK when Cheney does it, it’s not OK when Serge does it.
Honestly, do they even know there is an America out there, can they even see outside their own heads?
hello tzada…. with network is the best, I want to change from Google to???
Google will no longer be my search engine of choice. I just found Dog Pile and I am going to try it. I am going to not watch any MSM except FOX, brietbart tv the Drudge Report and the Canadian Free Press. I have eliminated Google and I got rid of my Progressive Insurance, the owner (gaggy name progressive) is in the tank for Obama and a friend of s o r o s, the nazi black hand behind BO. Keep in mind YouTube has on it’s board his son. FactCheck, MediaMatters and MoveOn are all his too. Wish I had AOL so I could kick it to the curb too.
http://www.dogpile.com/
LOL damn ya’ll are ignorant-
I enjoy coming here for an ignorant laugh daily.
Google can be coerced into the ranking of any site just as any other search engine can be- It’s the posters who do it-
“dogpile” LOL!
kiss my butt sucker
hope obama is proven a usurper and than you can riot and try burn my house f face I be obliaged come on down
ya’ll ???
Galt, what toppings do you put on the BO Deep Dish?
You think people dont know that?
Look kinda foolish there, maybe you should read, before you jump in, out of fear.
Helps to be able to see beyond your own head.
I mean, Obama is president now.
Really.
But “BJ’s” a dumbass, so what do you expect?
I used Dogpile on a regular basis as a primary mega search engine many years ago – and I really liked it.
Google can fall just like any other business can – large or small. There’s no such thing as an invincible corporation.
….because you’re an….ignoramus?
tzada has it right!
FOX, Drudge and CANADIAN FREE PRESS are great sources. Canada Free Press ran some very insightful articles accurately depicting the Hillary run and condemning the misogynist media frat-boys’ attempts to push Hillary off the fighting ring from Round #1.
Post-Palin nomination, they ran an excellent commentary condemning the sexist attacks.
I found KATIE COURIC’s Notebook on Hillary’s historic run and its reference AT LAST by a darn journalist to the misogyny that severely damaged Hillary’s campaign target-on.
Tom Brokaw is well-respected journalist. So, for me it’s Greta, Lou Dobs, Katie, Tom and Canadian Free Press! And, of course, my DAIILY NO QUARTER addictive shot in the morning….without which DTs beckon….
free speech suppression already starting that why I baught my arms to protect my property and the next revolution is at hand.
Fox was always in the Tank for the Fraud except for Hannity and Greta. O’Reily was sickening…
Ani,
Great post.
However…
Our country is going to go bankrupt. That’s a given. The Dems and their Fannie and Freddie mess took us down that road. Obama’s policies, and the people he has to pay back for buying this election, will make it an even more speedy process. He has to take all of our resources and give them to Soros, Paulsen and all the vile corrupt pieces of shite that bought him the WH. You can sit around with hope for Obama to succeed, but he won’t. He can’t. We were headed this way no matter WHO won in ‘08. And Obama doesn’t really care. He’s already planning for ‘12 and will immediately start campaiging for it. He thinks he can do nothing, and when he fails he will STILL blame his wasted four years on Bush for the rest of his life.
I have no good will towards Obama or the DNC. I hope they fail miserably. Only in this failure will America wake up and realize what they did to us. It’s already starting. Obama can NEVER make good on all of his promises of a free ride. Never. He couldn’t have in the first place. This is just not going to be a communist country ever. For the Dems who are trying to convert this country to communism, good luck with that. It will take more than four years and in 2010 Obama’s failures will have ruined the country so badly that we will take Congress back and no more threats of communism from the Dems. No more. I hope the people who voted for Obama, who clearly hate this country so much, will move. I keep saying to the liberals…Cuba’s available. So is Venezuela. Go live there and leave this country to the people who love it. Those of you who brought us Obama, there’s a special place in hell for you and you will be living it first on earth, and then in the hereafter.
OIAF,
Thanks so much for your post — obviously, I have no good words for Obama and the DNC either.
In fact, I am crushed that the party I called my home for 30 years would treat us this way — with callous disregard for honesty or decency.
As you point out — if by 2010 we are still in the toilet, the Republs. will come raoring back and retake Congress. The Dem. brand will be lost.
It is shocking that they would be so short sighted — in the name of their agenda (which I still cannot fathom) and their Clinton Derangement Syndrome, to elect this unqualified person at this difficult time, didn’t they have the foresight to see that, rather than building the party for the 21st century, in the long term, they are destroying it — and any credibility it may have had.
I worry they will fail too — and I don’t want them to because you and I and people in the same boat do not deserve it — and did not put us here!!
The Dems and their Fannie and Freddie mess took us down that road. Obama’s policies, and the people he has to pay back for buying this election, will make it an even more speedy process
——–
Ok, I can see this, too, but can you tell me how you think the republicans were complicit, too?
Under bush — unrestrained spending due to Bush’s lust to be bigger and meaner than his daddy.
Basically the needless Iraq war — which bush lied us into with Colon Bowel’s help — help the wreck the economic underpinnings of the US. And then the massive borrowing — putting a lot of stuff “off budget” — but we had to pay for the “off budget” items — so who were they fooling.
This economic mess is the fault of both the Democrats and the Republicans.
I went to see the movie “W” tonight. It was an awful movie, and I don’t like Bush at all. I had to laugh at the way it portrayed Powell, like he was some kind of hero who knew the war was wrong…of course in the end, he promoted it to the UN. The movie was like some bad, SNL skit that went on waaay tooo long.
All of my friends who are deep into the politics of the DNC and how deranged Howard Dean, Pelosi et al are say that they would have “rather lost with Obama than won with Clinton.” They ARE so suffering from Clinton Derangement Syndrome that their wanton disregard of the safety, security and prosperity of America was negligible compared to their hatred for HRC.
I read the comments on this board with intense fascination. I cannot fathom how one party can even have a candidate so flawed, extremist and Marxist in its midst and yet blame the opposing party for allowing them to be stuck with him as president.
The man should not even be a senator.
You can’t have communists, marxists, America haters or enviro-marxists (like Al Gore) in your party and not expect them to gain control and decide primaries for you like Peliso, Dean and Brazille did.
I do not know anyone in the GOP who is this extreme. Maybe there are some religious fanatics but who are they?
And the dems play the race-card, a thing which as a republican has been played on me for 30 years. How does it feel to be called a racist? How does it feel being called a sexist? How about Homophobe? Jesse and Shapton have been race-baiting and race-hustling for decades. It didn’t bother any dems until it was used against Hillary.
These word-weapons have been played on me for so many years it has become an accepted practice. If you are a republican this is the price you pay. You have to walk on egg-shells. Now the PUMAS are just now experiencing how it feels and they are upset.
Now Hollywood leftists (Streisand and Geffin et al) supported the man Obama and encouraged him to run and millions of leftists Dems funded the guy to the tune of 600 million dollars. The schools are run by dems (NEA) and have polluted the kids minds with socialist tendencies and created generations of rabid journalist with an agenda. The media is a vile nest of them.
But somehow some dems are mad at republicans for Obama becoming POTUS. I am disgusted my party did not turn out; but Obama came out of your party. So if somehow he is being used against you as a tactical move that the evil repubs planned, the fact he was there in the first place has got to be considered.
I get the feeling that if Hillary had won, none of the PUMAS would care that Obama is lurking in their party along with possible anti-american clowns like Al Franken.
I hope I don’t make anyone mad, but I just have to say from my position as a former repub that I do not understand the misplaced blame.
It is bad enough that Obama won, but the perverse logic in pinning it on the opposition has got me confused.
I mean it is possible that Hillary could have won and chosen Obama as VP. She campaigned for him, 79 appearances, a new record.
Great post. I am kind of sick of the blame nonsense. Bush has been blamed for our mess but it was the Dems. Oil is blamed on Bush but it was the Dems. Now the Dems blame us because their vile, corrupt DNC violated every single Constitutional voting principle under the sun and stole and election. The Dems need some soul searching. Because when Obama fails their already discredited party is going to be dead. I’m not saying this as a Republican, I am saying this as a human being who is sick of it.
ITA. The Democrats wrought all of this hell on us. That’s why left I that crazy party once and for all this summer. The DNC and Dem Party cronies have been so concerned with liberalism, secularism, and political correctness that have actually become what they claim they hate–intolerant, sexist thugs who are hostile to any opposing viewpoints, not to mention unpatriotic.
You are right. I recall when there was talk, in order to unify the party, she could head the ticket with him as VP. I said at that time, he does not belong anywhere near the White House and so, if he is on the ticket, I will vote Republican, for President, for the first time in my life. And I did.
do not know anyone in the GOP who is this extreme. Maybe there are some religious fanatics but who are they?
———-
Karl Rove, and the whole money thing, Abramoff, the IL combine that extends to both White Houses.
Neocon = enviromarxist?
How and WHY did we get into Iraq?
Can’t duck the truth, in the end, or you’ll be seen as the equivalent to Obama’s kids…
Good God, man! Who has said Obama winning was the fault of the repubs? That is ludicrous. Altho it did seem that the Conservatives did not lend full support to McCain.
The race card being played on you? Sorry, the world does not revolve around just you. accusations of racism probably hurt only those who really arent racist, after all, if one is racist who cares what someone says about it?
None of the PUMA’s would care that Obama and Franken are lurking? (hmm I like that image) Last time I checked a political party isnt like a clubhouse where you can throw someone out if you dont like him. but seriously, you dont know any conservatives who are that radical? Come on now,the fact that the Republican party got overtaken by so many ultra-right wingers plus some criminals is why they are now not in power, though its only a matter of time until that ol’ pendulum swings back your way.
This would be your time to say to us, “I told you so.”
Because you’re absolutely right.
It took a “Hillary” to wake many of us up to the truth about the corruption that exists in BOTH political parties – but now mainly the “Democratic” party. Which is why I left the Democrat party earlier this year.
If you know the history behind this mess, the logic isn’t perverse at all. It’s perfectly clear.
What happened here is a case of misguided revenge.
The Supreme Court handing George W. Bush the 2000 election by refusing a recounting of the Florida ballots (only to later discover that Al Gore did actually win the state of Florida in the 2000 election & should have become the 43rd POTUS) left Democrats with EXTREME anger & bitterness in their hearts. The 2000 election had been compromised.
From that point, the bitterness ran even deeper as we witnessed the Bush administration (with the help of crooked Dems & Repubs in Congress) almost bring the United States to its knees in virtually every aspect with rotten leadership for almost eight years.
Instead of focusing their anger on the Bush administration AND THE SELECT CORRUPT DEMOCRATS AND REPUBLICANS WHO BACKED HIM, most Americans took their bitterness out on ALL Republicans. They were hell-bent on getting GWB OUT. And getting revenge on the Republicans as a whole for helping to put Bush there for two terms. They wern’t looking at the DECENT Republicans who were also extremely angry at the Bush administration!
Extreme left-wing Democrats with deep pockets witnessed the deep hatred for the Bush administration and saw their chance to exploit the vulnerability. They clearly saw that most Democrats were bitter about our democratic process being compromised for a President who has almost destroyed America. They also saw many Republicans become angry at the Bush administration later on as he eventually screwed them over too. Add to that the extreme hatred the left-wing nuts (and right-wing nuts) have for the Clintons – who were definitely poised to take back the White House this year through Hillary. (Her run for the Presidency had been widely anticipated for YEARS.)
Those factors added together left the Socialist/Communist nutjob “Democrats” and their co-conspirators (ie: the MSM) with a WIDE open backdoor to the White House by which they could sneak in their “trojan horse” – Barack Obama.
Simply put, had it not been for the U.S. Supreme Court Republicans’ ruling on December 11, 2000, alot of this garbage in the 2008 election would not have happened. And Barack Obama probably wouldn’t be the president-elect today.
yes everything is the Dems fault.. the Reps had total control.. TOTAL for 6 yrs and then for 2 yrs lost just a little, a tiny little bit of control (Dems had no majority and Bush vetoed everything that came to his desk)
but yeh, the Repugs can keep whining and blaming the Dems for everything.. that’s the only way they can get through their pathetic lives.
Yeah right. Choose what to blame the Republicans for. Good luck with that. Fannie and Freddie belong to the Dems or do you read? The oil problem belongs to Dems, or do you read? Sorry, truth is truth. And you can thank George Bush for keeping you safe after 9/11. Now that you put Mr. I Love Arab Terrorists into the WH you can kiss your stupid azz goodbye when we get nuked. What good is being stupid when you’re dead?
TRuth is truth, but truth really is truth.
If your truth is as flawed as the “leftists,” you’ll fall, too.
Cheney did not succeed, Iraq did not succeed, and Bush bailed out a very corrupt, highly questionable Wall Street, a form a socialism.
What do you call it?
And where does the Constitution fit into this, and how did Cheney’s attempts to subvert it affect yoru perception of him?
Or did the war on terror justify the deconstruction of the Constitution?
No, it did not justify the shredding of our Constitution! Plus, I feel that Obama will take that ball and run with it now. There are so many, many indicators of that.
Wait – isn’t that what your pathetic ass did for the past eight years? Whine and cry about the Republicans? Blame them for everything under the moon and over the sky? Aren’t you on this blog whining about the Republicans now?
Damn! At least tryto hide your hypocrisy!
Oh — sort of like bush has done for 8 years — blaming EVERYTHING on Clinton.
It became a joke — anything goes wrong and bush blamed Clinton.
So since Obama does nothing original — he will blame bush for everything — until the voters get sick of this indecisive, inexperienced jerk and vote in a different set of Republicans to rein in the stupid democrats.
Individuals in both parties are guilty of partisan politics, greed and corruption.
OIAF
I hope you are right. But the conservative blogs I have tiptoed in seem to believe the GOP brand is lost..forever maybe. I hope they can fight back enough to help us rid the country of the corrupt DNC and the chosen one but I am not confident of that. They seem too interested in picking on Gov. Palin and blaming her for the loss the GOP aided in by staying home on election day. A lot of sackcloth and ashes on the conservative side of life.
Wow – so they’re in “blame the woman” mode too?
Can’t say that I’m shocked. Women hating is a sport in the good ol’ U.S. of A.
people do you not understand obama talked about himself dealing with iraq for “10 years”. even if he wins 2 terms that is not ten years. they are going to remove term limits so he run for elections over and over. when he has over 50% of the population getting government checks and fraud elections he will be president for at least 25-30 years. laugh at what i say but look at cuba and castro. i have many cuban friends who saw this coming.
I have spoken to several democrats that feel that it was ok for Obama to steal the election.
Their reason that it was ok was that Bush stole the election in 2000 and 2004. So since Bush and the GOP stole the election that makes it ok that Obama stole the election.
Ok so many people feel it was ok to steal the election, and even the primary. WOW
WAKE UP AMERICA what kind of country do we live in. What are we teaching our children.
Yes, this is the same reaction I’m getting. Unbelievable!
Except in the case of this year’s election, the DNC just stole itself a steaming pile of shit.
It’s like a bank robber leaving the scene of the crime with a money bag that explodes red ink two minutes after he’s out the door.
Tick tick tick tick.
Yep; someone said to me ” … by any means necessary “. Besides, stolen elections were brought to us by the Bush / Rove repugs, and the know it.
KIn, Yes I have heard this, too. Shocking — I thought the Democrats were supposed to stand for something — what hey stand for now is dishonesty and sexism and elitism.
Funny they should feel this way. I have heard several times now that Florida was wrongly called prematurely for Gore in 2000 based on faulty exit polls- BY THE MEDIA.
Apparently he was never ahead by even one vote.
In any event the media has proven beyond a doubt they are not to be trusted. How long has it been this way? How long have they decided to shape our thoughts and viewpoints?
Knowing this is the case it is unbelievably naive and irresponsible for anyone to advocate for cheating, lying and illegal efforts to elect someone be it their favored candidate or not. It is indefensible.
The DNC and the media have done more damage to America, it’s values, and standing than anything else could – All in the name of Barack Obama.
Also ACORN didn’t just drop out of the sky for this election. Here in Ohio we had ACORN shenanigans during the 2004 election. 2004 is the first year I have any memory of ACORN in Ohio. But remember 2000 Florida — or maybe you don’t — Republican actions got a lot of MSM attention, but the context didn’t – ACORN . The part I remember was all those nursing home ballots that got thrown out because they were double-punched (for both candidates)– the MSM and comedians making fun of the elderly, saying they were too senile to vote. Republicans believe that was ACORN’s dirty work and those were Republican votes that were disqualified. In hind site, I wonder about it.
Yeah, old as hat — “by any means necessary.”
God forbid they were trolled with treason, into the White House, kind of like blinded, with science — (Thomas Dolby).
It could happen, indulge me here.
(sorry)
The job of the military is to protect the Constitution, in part, does it ever occur to them the responsibility is taken seriously?
And the military has to deal with the world militaries, and intelligence, not just the bloggers, and their IL bosses trying to skew a federal election.
Everybody full of treasonous electoral methods, and the country falls, we’ve already had to deal with Bush, and now Obama, two execrable candidates neither qualified.
The power doesn’t all rest in the Congress, and the executive.
(At the very least, both the republicans and democrats experienced voter irregularities, both in Ohio, in 2004, and Obama, with Clinton).
But do they also think it was okay that he stole the primary nomination from Hillary Clinton?
So have I. All of our Democratic friends think this behavior is acceptable. We hated the Republicans for their end justifies the means rationalizations, but it is everyone, come to find out, as long as they gain power. It will never stop. We will never get campaign finance reform now. The world has us in a fishbowl. Feeling very alone right now. No friends except the POV on this blog.
You are not alone here Anne.
Did you join together4us? Lady Lynn Forester de Rothschild might just have a much money as Soros.
She could be the backer to make Palin our Joan of Arc on horseback coming out of the North to save us from Obama.
Go Sarah
Thank You Lynn Forester de Rothschild
PUMA for life.
I hope we aren’t ruling out Lynn backing a third party, with Hillary at the helm. Hillary is the first choice of a PUMA.
If Obama screws things up as is likely, there may be a backlash and groundswell which will create a space for Hillary. While not likely, it is my first choice.
I voted for Palin because I believe that women’s success cannot only be granted to dems. But let’s not forget, she IS a very conservative republican. I’ll never pick Sarah over Hillary.
Well Hillary could have run as a third party in 2008. She chose to endorse Obama. She could have derailed his ass, McCain would have won and saved us from Obama.
so ITs HILLARY’S FAULT
This makes as much sense as blaming Republicans for having a Marxist in the DNC.
No, she couldn’t have run as a 3rd party in 2008. 3rd parties never win – the only chance would be to anticipate the need, and start early. There’s no way anyone could have gotten all that done after June and won.
Ah, but your goal in that scenario, it seems, would have been for her to run, simply to help McCain win. I think she ran in order to be president. I don’t think your plan was a consideration. My dream was and is for her to win, and hence, 2008 wouldn’t have worked.
And I’m not sure where you’re going with the “it’s Hillary’s fault” bit – it’s not from my post. Maybe you just put it there so you could knock it down, to set up your last sentence, I guess.
Plus, some states, like CA, have laws that specifically state if you won the primary in that state, you can’t run under another party for the GE. That’s alot of electorals to lose and still win and there are probably other states with the same law. Trust me, I checked because I was going to get people together and get her to run as an Indie. You can understand that law because you would not want someone like Odrama to pretend to run as a Dem and then find out they are really a rethuglican.
What happened to Hillary? Why didn’t she put country first? I am just pissed at her. I thought she would stop Odrama and the nightmare, even risk her career for the country. I don’t know if I can support her ever, not that it matters. I think her career is over. Dems want her out and will get her out of the senate, too.
Sorry, but it was NOT OK with me that Bush stole the election. I’m still not over that.
So screw anybody with their turn about fair play bullshit!
Exactly how did Bush steal the election? Are you aware that CNN called the election for Gore before the polls in the westerner pan-handle of Florida closed.
CNN DISENFRANCHISED 20,000 Bush voters.
In any event after three recounts BUSH WON all three times.
He did not steal the election. You are irrational.
Al Gore got beat. He didn’t win his home state.
Bush won Gore lost, without breaking the law.
Respectfully Geo, Exactly how did Bush steal the election?
You have to ask at this late date?
Sure the media played it’s part. And?
There has never been a law GW followed. Even before he was POTUS.
Do you recall the stadium deal in Texas?
Is that your reply?
How did Bush steal the election? No one has every answered this simple question?
Did he prevent people from voting? Were the machines rigged? Were the Poll watcher paid off?
What? How?
I say Gore stole the election to get it close. How’s that for a theory?
I say Gore stole the election to get it close. How’s that for a theory?
He was good at it… theoretically.
You can’t possibly be an adult.
Emotional IQ = 12.
they believe in “an eye for an eye” – old mentality, thanks to civics and ethics not being taught in our schools anymore-
along with explaining why this country uses a court system instead of using the eye for an eye method and letting families kill someone who killed their loved ones-
history, geography, our constitution, bill of rights.. I don’t know what they are teaching in schools these days but it’s none of these categories.
I’d like to believe Patrick Fitzgerald will come riding to the rescue with some indictment linking Obama to Rezko, or announce a racketeering indictment relating to all the caucus and voter fraud, but I don’t believe that will happen for a second
My feeling is that Mr. Fitzgerald gets over-rated because he projects a good image. I found it unbelievable that he could have subpoena power into the White House inner circles and all he could come up with was a obstruction of justice conviction period. If someone knows otherwise I would appreciate enlightenment.
I think I am going to just sit back and watch for a while. I did get a laugh today out of the apology to Mrs. First Lady Reagan.
He won’t do it because of the riots it would create. Obama’s followers will not let anything touch his fake image. They’ll live in their trance for the next four years.
Riots? Let Rome burn.
But think about it, he has insulted during the primary in his usually passive aggressive wuss way, but he has not apologized. He apologized to the widow of the beloved leader of the….neocons. Makes you go hummmmm.
He apologized to the widow of the beloved leader of the….neocons.
And beloved also IMO of the Washington Post.
He was all love for Reagan during one point in the primaries, remember? Then he insults the wife of Reagan. I think it’s just more of his misogyny.
Yes, that’s it exactly! More misogyny.
rw
Thanks! You reminded me that back at the Primaries, Bambi kept referring to the “Historic trajectory of the Reagan years” totally omitting the Clinton years–as a slap on the face to both HIllary and Bill! If I were Bill I’d have pulled his ears off!
What an ungrateful moron! And now he’s picking all the Clinton oldtimers cause he knows he’s got to govern not with any brand new ideologies but with the same old steady-at-the-hand Clintonite ways that created a surplus and respect for the US abroad.
Obambi has a lot of weight on his shoulders and I’d recommend to start with an apology to HIllary Clinton and Sara Palin for his disgustingly misogynist supporters’ insulting shadow campaign against both women to diminish their historic run. Sorry, only HIS run was historic! What about these two Pioneering Women from both parties?
Now we have to wait for ANGRY black Lady to dish it out like gaffe-prone BidLaden. Osama BinBaden in the White House! Who would have thunk it!
A camouflaged misogynist centrist who got where he is by masquerading as a ‘progressive’ candidate…
REzko’s 3.5 million registered to Fintrade and shipped to him by Auchi who robbed French ELF of billions were instrumental to Bambi’s campaign.
I had a seance with Nancy last weekend and we saw clearly Obmarama being dragged to Chicago’s finest for interrogation on his dealings with Rezko-Auchi!
>Ani writes:
>How do we want to participate in an administration, either critically or >constructively, that has acted as though millions of us are completely invisible >and our thoughts and contributions nonexistent? At this moment the answer is >admittedly well above my pay grade.
There’s the answer in your sentence Ani…we ARE completely invisible and our thoughts and contributions are nonexistent. We will not be allowed to participate in any way, shape or form in this administration.
Right now, I am working to get Republican Saxby C. to win his run off bid here in GA in early Dec. so one more seat won’t go to the Dems.
I can’t even talk about politics with my friends or family anymore…now that he has
stolenwon the election, they feel it’s a done deal and that he must be left alone now.We will not be allowed to participate in any way, shape or form in this administration.
———-
Tell ‘ em the truth.
It’s a form of participation, the strongest, in the end.
And what of Max Cleland?
The troubles facing our country are grievous.Obama will seriously have his hands full. He has been able to break a barrier and symbolically he has earned his place in history for that. But then Nancy Pelosi earned her place in history by becoming the first woman speaker of the house. How’s that working out?
Someone forgot to reprogram this Obot.^^^^
It’s a gadfly.
Reprogram this obat? Are you for real? Obama sought the presidency to be the first AA president.Since he has never demonstated any interest in doing the work involved to govern and actually improve other people’s lives it isn’t suddenly going to happen.Pelosi sought the title and remind me what she has accomplished since 2006?
I think the bot reference is to a deleted wh*t*y comment.
squat, she’s accomplished squat.
But she did have a big hand in causing us to deal out 600M in bailout money, AND, she did do her part in ensuring that Obama stole the Primary from Hillary. So see, she has been working hard!
oops I meant 600 billion!
I wonder if Obamba is having a seance with Larry Sinclair’s new high-priced lawyer who’s telling Kenya’s Sharia Law boy to pay up another half a million to shut Larry up. And he gets his own Limo!
Obamba is the FIRST GAY BLACK PRESIDENT! CONGRATS..now he can cut out his “homophobic act” and get down to business. Lots of “wellbuilt” interns for him now at the White House, eh?!!!
I believe in karma and Obama will get his eventually.
This administration-elect did much more than act as though millions of us don’t exist. They broke the law on so many levels, and have been allowed to get away with it.
I have no intention of participating in this new administration. I just joined “Together4US” to find ways in which to hold accountable the MSM, the DNC, and the Obama administration. I joined Together4US to hopefully change our political landscape.
I’ve said it repeatedly and I’ll continue saying it for the next 4 years. No matter what the Obama administration may accomplish, it will NEVER be okay.
For me, the end simply does not, and will not, justify the means. This Pretender broke the law, and he was helped by the MSM, the DNC, and millions of kool-aid drinking people.
I’m not going to let my anger eat away at me. I’m going to channel it into making positive changes, and that means never accepting the Obama administration as being legal, or right, or acceptable, or appropriate.
I’m going to work to take my country back.
Bravo! Me too!
I just joined too. I want to work toward positive, REAL change. That’s not in the Democratic Party anymore and if it is in the Republican party they want to squash it out right now. Obama has opened up the Pandora’s box of corruption. It’s time to roll up our sleeves and really clean house.
Positive Real Change = Removing Obama from office.
Please, yes… do put as much energy, time, blood and sweat into that effort as you did to preventing his being elected.
It’ll work this time, Geo. You just have to keep at it.
chris you are the voice of Obama. chris you are the arrogance of Obama. chris you are the reason that 18million Democrats voted against Obama. chris you are the reason, ultimately, Obama will fail. The sad part is Obama, and cult followers like you will probably take the whole country down with you, only you are too young, too dumb and too arrogant to see it.
I joined yesterday.
Real change is a always a slow grinding wheel. Trickle down Obama Drama politics as it was done by BO will be shown in the bright lights of reality for what it is. A lie.
If I can not change a thing, I work to change it’s surroundings. If I can not change it’s surroundings, I work to change the force that manifested it.
If that force is un-yielding then it will be turned it upon itself.
OBL sitting in “a cave” in Afganistan or Peshwar knew this fighting the Russians, he knew it as he fled Tora Bora.
What have we learned?
Obama Drama. :chuckle:
A shout to Sargent Patsy and her brothers and sisters, who gave up thier rights WILLINGLY as a citizen to defend the Constitution and its charge.
The front line defenders are the ones who will feel the brunt of this ill wind from Chicago whistling “change”.
What say they, those choosen few, decide that the oath they took becomes a call to “domestic arms”?
My point is that BO speaks of a para militant domestic force that is “just as strong as our military”. Why?
Hell BO, just ask Blackwater to turn over the largest “civilian / domestic” stockpile of advanced weapons on the planet. Well maybe Auchi would disagree on that point but it won’t happen. Why?
Somewhere in the Bier Halle of BO’s mind is a deep “ummmm” distrust of himself.
Why? This question is the key to our survival as a country.
I just joined. This must never happen again.
The Acorn Asshat Obama must be stopped.
ani, now that he is president, obama has to make his own decisions. no more voting present, or trying hard not to say anything to offend one group or another. wait and watch seems to be the best policy. When he starts screwing up on his policy decisions, there is bound to be a backlash first from his own supporters, and then the MSM.
Benny, we can only hope.
And keep doing what we are doing to loudly call attention to it as well.
The internet is a powerful resource — this really became the year of the citizen journalist — since the 4th estate won’t do it’s job…
Palestra, two brave young ladies at an Ohio college newspaper, did more to expose voter fraud than anyone.
This pathetic guy doesnt have the mental stamina to do more than vote ‘present’. He will have a cabinet doing his work for him, but when it boils down to it and he has to make tough decisions, he will fizzle.
Someone asked about the ‘Audacity of Democracy’ video, here is part of it.
http://blog.pumapac.org/?s=audacity+of+democracy
dogginit! I keep coming here every day looking for the release of the Michelle Whitey Tape, been waiting OVER 2 MONTHS!!!
Larry better get his hands on it for 2012!!! EXCELSIOR AND TINFOIL!!!! You Bethca
Soooo what if the Republicans held on the tape until Barky got elected just to impeach his scrawney ass after he takes office, or at least hamstring him enough to cripple his presidency…they just effectively took out both Barky AND Hillary with one blow, because Hillary can’t run in 2012. And NOW when Barky screws up, we won’t see another democratic or AA president for 20 years.
Another AA president? No thanks, no way. With barky and his tactis is enough we don’t need more thugs
How do we want to participate in an administration, either critically or constructively, that has acted as though millions of us are completely invisible and our thoughts and contributions nonexistent?
Hold obama accountable. Cast a critical eye on everything he does [Not nitpicking but real oversight from the people that obama works for, us]. That is constructive. Had bush been held accountable we would not be where we are today. It was bush’s world, we just lived in it. We can not let this or any president have free reign again.
The “liberal media” whitewashed and papered over every horrific thing bush did. And I don’t think we have seen anything yet. The “liberal media” luv of obama tops their former bush luv a thousand times over. We know our elected officials are cowards. See durbin’s tearful apology for calling bush’s gulag a gulag.
obama works for us. We need to be a collective unapologetic tough boss. It is not only our right but our duty to hold a president accountable. This is our country, our economy, our future, if we don’t fight for it who will.
How to hold obama accountable when we know the “liberal media” will do for obama a thousand times over what they did for bush? How to hold obama accountable when we know our elected officials are cowards. There is the rub.
We need bus loads of poor people to stand everyday in front of the White House with signs that say “When Do We Get Our Congressional Level Healthcare That You Promised” and a bunch of other signs with all of the promises he made.
Speaker Pelosi was reelected with 74% of the vote in CA. Congressman Frank won 70% of the vote in MA. Given the approval rating of Congress hovers around 10%, on what basis did these 2 manage to perform so well above the brand? How badly do our elected representatives have to screw the electorate before voters realize that having a “D” after their names does not make these people servants of the public?
At least with Pelosi’s district, the district boundaries have been drawn so that there is no effective way to challenge her seat in the House. CA voters also approved by ballot proposition a new redistricting plan that removes the power of drawing district boundaries away from the partisans in the Democratic controlled state assembly to an independent group. Hopefully, new balance will be found.
Aren’t Obama’s methods Rove’s, too?
So, shouldn’t we be calling out both parties, in an attempt to fix what is obviously a broken and corrupt system?
American political parties cannot survive using these methods, they tend to get bogged down in constant PR threat analysis and a likewise hapless response, never understanding or learning WHY their methods dont’ work, and most importantly, never understanding why their administrations, fail, catastrophically.
Cheney and Bush accomplished nothing that can’t be undone, same will be true for Obama.
But in the interim, the wars, and the economy and real life threats have festered, simply because those in charge are wholly unqualified, absolutely unable to analyze WHY their methods of conquer and divide always fall short, why, in fact, their attempts to use the simplistic Alinsky is being used against them.
Rather than getting bogged down in the anger, which is understandable considering the cheating, shouldn’t we try to figure out WHY we’re getting candidates we dont want, didn’t choose, why tax monies are being stolen, why ALL of Washington is approving these stupid economic stimulus packages, et al?
Without helathcare reform, real reform, not the dross the pretentious produce, the economy will be bled to death as the quality of medical care declines, the effects of the wars, and the corruption point to an abysmally untalented Washington.
Very real.
Like Obama’s inauguration — they can’t honor RFK, or even MLK because Obama’s hypocrisy would show, and they can’t risk it — he is the first democratic candidate who do not openly advocate for the rights of others, already a presidency in state of demolition, choosing instead to flame divisions.
And now, he’s called on, as he isn’t comparable to Lincoln, either.
On my news, this morning, a very angry group of LGBT called Obama out on his lack of support for defeating 8, and they were right.
And it looks really bad, same as when he bashes women.
He, and his crew, will continually put out fires, just like Cheney, therefore giving control to their enemies.
Giving people the finger (for the sake of argument, let’s say he did) — afraid, unable to articulate a defense, responds to threat immediately with anxiety and fear, an act of destruction is immediate as defense, and now that everyone knows he can’t compete intellectually, or fight with his words, his intellect, he can be exposed, just like Bush.
And thrown into chaos…
They thought this was strength?
To whom?
Dick Cheney?
I was always suspicious that the LIBERAL media was aiding and abetting Bush….wait, that would mean they were Republican media…ACK!! Need to cinch my itnfoil tighter the rays form Obamas spacehip orbiting the earth are beginning to penetrate my skull…LARRY HELP!!!
rays form Obamas spacehip orbiting the earth are beginning to penetrate my skull
Too late.
I think the media giving a pass to Bush was partly caused by their innate people-pleasing nature–and by their desire to write the story, not report it. They’re also sadists. Remember the lies about Gore saying he invented the internet? They all knew it was a misquote taken out of context and untrue yet they repeated it again and again because they found it fun to f*ck with Gore for the sick pleasure of the public, especially the impressionable, low-information voters.
They’re doing the same thing to Palin right now. They’re still on that stupid story about the clothing bought for her use on the campaign trail. They know the facts, but they’re still reporting the story in the most biased and ridiculous manner, leaving out most of those facts. They want to tear her to pieces as a public spectacle. We don’t burn witches in the public square anymore, so they’re doing the second best thing, death by media for this woman to teach her and women who might also decide to step out of line their places.
I was always suspicious that the LIBERAL media was aiding and abetting Bush….
They were – *cough *judith miller* cough*. But they’re not going to stick with Dubya now. The economy is in the crapper, we’re stuck in Iraq. So they were only to ready to back someone with style and no substance like Sen Obama and to bash someone with substance, like HRC, due to their Clinton Derangement Syndrome.
Ani, I don’t think there is anything wrong at all with your hoping for the best from Obama for the people who are in need. I hope for the very same thing–even if I don’t believe for a minute that this guy is the best thing for our country, and I think he’s really gonna step in it with the economy.
And look at him already? He’s playing show and tell with all of his hotshot transition team members while he should be working right now planning solutions to implement the second he sits his ass down in the Oval Office. Talk about fiddling as Rome burns. (Perhaps Nero may turn out to be a good figure to compare Obama to–grandiose and narcissistic.)
Can you even imagine McCain and Palin doing all this grandstanding? I get the sense that they’d instantly roll up their sleeves and get to work, saying “Oh, by the way, these are some of the people we’ll be working with in our administration. Now if you’ll excuse us, we’ve got some work to do.”
And I’ve kept the TV turned off on the president for the last eight years. What’s four more? (-:
lol. lets hope after 4 years, obama doesnt make bush look like an angel.
Perhaps Nero may turn out to be a good figure to compare Obama to–grandiose and narcissistic.)
———-
I was thinking King Tut.
For the moment anyway.
Someone needs to feed the boy king, hurry!
I digress.
(Sorry)
(Remember the song by Steve Martin?)
Perhaps Nero may turn out to be a good figure to compare Obama to–grandiose and narcissistic.)
Or:
Livia: Castor is ill and Thrasyllus says he won’t recover. He also says Tiberius will choose Caligula to succeed him.
Claudius: Why?
Livia: Vanity. Tiberius wants to be loved, at least after his death if not before. And the best way to ensure that…
Claudius: Is to have someone worse to follow him.
Livia: Vanity. Tiberius wants to be loved, at least after his death if not before. And the best way to ensure that…
Claudius: Is to have someone worse to follow him.
I’m rereading I Claudius right now. I assume that exchange is from that book. Fantastic, Five Thirty! Bravo!
I assume that exchange is from that book
From the BBC 1976 adaptation.
So far obama has put more thought in to what kind of dog he wants to get than anything that would affect his bosses, us. At least after listening to his first pess conference that’s what I took away. Oh and of course obama is just smart ass frat boy.
lol. yeah. obama have doggy thoughts. I can imagine!!!
just kidding.
Yes, as would Hillary. She’d also be rolling up her sleeves. Her press conference would, as McCain’s, likewise be to the effect of — we are working with Pres. Bush and the transition team — putting our heads to together to do the following…a, b, c.
I think a very clear statement of intent — without all the uhs ahs ums ers would have sent a somewhat more reassuring message to the markets and the American people.
Obama looked like a deer in the headlights.
Much as I don’t want to watch him either — I must make myself stay very involved — I truly believe that is critical for all of us.
Sitting this one out is not an option.
I think that’s how we got here in the first place. And it has taken years.
Tuppence did some amazing research, and here’s what she posted. We may not be able to change much that Obama will do, BUT we can make sure that Mitt Romney pays for what he and his supporters did to McCain/Palin and Sarah Palin. Read this:
If enough people learn this truth, Romney won’t stand a chance at getting elected dog catcher ever again. He was Bush and Rove’s choice starting in 2006, so it’s no surprise that he would be the one who uses these kinds of tactics
oh FUKK…
No wonder that man just oozed oiliness to me.
Polished on the outside but inside he just oozes black sludge.
Thanks for the hat tip fluffy. I am in “deja-vu land” over here in Massachusetts. It’s like I am watching dang re-runs. First, Deval and Obama. Now, Sarah and Swift.
Wow! Hats off to Tuppence. Send this to Greta.
I have been talking myself down or freakin’ out since Tuesday evening. One of the ways I talk myself down is looking at the Governorship of Deval Patrick; the only other Axelrod-created, make history illusion canidate I can draw from. The dem-controlled state legislature cedes nothing to him. They are calling the shots. The media turned on him fast- with unflattering stories about Cadilacs, Curtains, and Casinos. His wife, who is an intelligent and accomplished woman in her own right, promptly had a nervous break-down. She wants nothing to do with being First Lady. His cabinet is filled with brilliant, leading-edge thinkers who do nothing more all day than spin lofty ideas and plan programs which will never be implemented because the State is busted-ass BROKE! The only thing he has accomplished is keeping a tight rein over information coming out of his office. It is all sent thru the spin cycle first. He will never be re-elected, which is why rumors are surfacing he is heading to DC.
And now Deval Patrick is reduced to cutting 25 state jobs for the blind! Talk about hope and change!
He is gutting everything. The state is flat ass broke. And it is spilling into our so-called “recession-proof” state economy Romney claimed to have created- built on health care, higher education, and bio-tech. Yeah right, recession-proof. I would have never guessed after reading day after day headlines about massive hospital lay-offs and shrinking endowments.
Nothing is “recession-proof”! They thought that the Titanic was “unsinkable” and look what happened to that.
“And they got this guy elected anyway – in great part because a bunch of Republicans decided to stay home”
I just do not believe that. Republicans and conservatives stayed home? In this election? With teh most liberal, anti-gun, pro big government and new taxes candidate?
It is more likely that election fraud has reached epic proportions. Every weakness in our election process was exploited. Campaign finance, voter registration, electronic machines, paper ballots.
If you go state by state – I think exit polls, early registration, paper ballots, and machine votes just show different stories.
Sadly, we have no checks and balances for such a thing.
We MUST spend our time going forward being vigilant, trying to stay one step ahead of this fraud.
Carefully watch out and loudly expose any power grabs and rights reduction and indoctrination attempts.
The Fairness Doctrine
Mandatory “service” for high school/college
A 3 million strong Civilian security Force
Additional military hired to “replace” current military officers
Censorship
The list is long, but we have seen this story play out in history before. We have the advantage of the internet and knowledge. We have the advantage of knowing our enemy and his “reasonable” explanations and diversion tactics. We are onto him.
Never Again!
This is our job now.
I agree we need to organize to combat voter fraud.
And in the states that 0 took with very slim margins, the fraud probably did account for his win there.
But I just checked whether Republican AG Tom Corbett retained his seat and he did by a comfortable margin. Wouldn’t ticket-splitting be an argument against massive voter fraud in PA?
Or was there some way fraudulent votes can be tallied at the top of the ticket only?
NC margin could have been voter fraud. The PA win, well, it was too big to be just fraud. The other evidence that it wasn’t fraud? That sorry sack of sh!t Murtha won re-election by a landslide.
Whiskey
Tango
Foxtrot
?
And the last straw for me in the whole thing was that Bill Clinton campaigned for Murtha the last days before the election. Dammit, I’d spend time with Murtha about the same time I’d do so with William Ayers.
fluff,
I know a lot has been said about low-information voters this cycle, but the Murtha win especially demonstrates the phenomenon of low self-esteem voters.
Republicans sat home. Their big media voices like Rush Limbaugh have bashed McCain mercilessly for years, and it had a huge effect.
Limbaugh was calling McCain “Yosemite Sam” up until the election. McCain is so far above their beloved GW Bush that it makes me want to spit at them all…but in 2004 all the conservative talk radio shows were a Bush lovefest. This year, it was bash McCain, threaten McCain that “he had better” pick a pro-live VP, etc, etc.
Most of them gave McCain lukewarm support after his Palin selection…but it was mostly backhanded complements, and lots of “well, he said that really well BUT blah blah.”
So yeah, tons of GOP folks sat home. I’m a registered republican (pro-choice, pro-gay, which is why I’m not really popular among republican circles) who is mostly concerned with fiscal and military issues. McCain was a slam dunk on those issues (I was dead set against him in the primaries because of immigration, however).
So once McCain became the nominee I worked VERY HARD to find reasons to like him, and I found that it was much easier than I had thought it would be. Sadly, Limbaugh, Ingraham, Beck, and a lot of the rest weren’t willing to do that work.
To Hannity’s credit, he was much less negative toward McCain than a lot of the others.
I will never again vote partisan. I think it is disgusting that the Republicans sat home instead of going to the polls and voting for the man who sat in a prison camp for 5-1/2 years for the LOVE OF HIS COUNTRY.
Don’t feel alien because you’re a pro-choice, pro-gay Republican. The numbers in CA’s prop 8 seem to show more Democrats than Republicans voted for that amendment. Gays are just now waking up to the fact homophobia exists strongly in both parties.
Thanks Joe the Citizen, I agree that it was election fraud in epic proportions, all justified because the elections in 2000 and 2004 were stolen.
“How do we want to participate in an administration, either critically or constructively’
I don’t think they are mutually exclusive.
I read an article just now about how gun sales are boming in the wake of Obama’s election. They’re attributing it to fears that Obama will reestrict Second Amendment rights. But I think many of those people fear that there will be intense social unrest when Obama exacerbates the economic crisis and we enter into truly desperate times. Read The Long Emergency by James Kunstler and you’ll get an idea of what I’m talking about.
I saw this on Nightline last night.
Some of my female friends (heretofore pacifist) are discussing purchasing a firearm.
Stock market tanks, two day 10% drop.
Big spike in gun sales.
Signs of an uneasy populace.
In Florida guns sales went thru the roof about 3 weeks before the election. In fact I am going join the NRA. That is the one organization that can’t be bought. No one pulls their strings.
The first thing that the Thought police do is outlaw guns. It is the canary in the coal-mine. I do not trust my government. Especially after this. Now Obama wants a civilian force of brown shirts to protect us.
No thanks Keep the change.
The 2nd Amendment is the guarantor of the 1st Amendment.
A very good post. I feel like a father whose only daughter has just told him she’s marrying the slick bum she barely knows and whom Dad doesn’t trust.
I certainly don’t want ill on my country just for the brief satisfaction of saying “Hillary warned you in the primaries! The PUMAs warned you before the election!” My friend and fellow NoBammer reminded me that 1/3 of the Senate and all of the House will have an election in two years, so if we can hold on for 24 long months and do our homework and take action the most long-lasting of the damage may be avoided.
I don’t think Obama is going to be held accountable for fraud, birth-certificate an all the other stuff we discuss here.
In this country a man walks free after shooting a woman in the mouth and telling it to his chauffeur.
Monay can’t buy You love, but everythig else, including an election.
Obama is backed from the same crowd that runs the gouvernment already.
I remember a blogtalkradio show during the primaries.
I think “no we won’t” or so.
A guy called in and told the story about this film they are making “audacity of democracy”
Basically about the causus fraud in Texas.
He was on a flight and his whole equipment got stolen out of the bags.
He described the circumstances and it was really weird.
So, who can make stuff disappear between two airports, nobody sees it?
I thought then it must have been gouvernment backed.
Later I tried to send the radio show to a friend, it was gone.
This was before the convention in Denver.
Obama was put in power by people who already run the show.
My opinion.
Ani-I agree with you completely.
Do I think Sen. Clinton is eminently more qualified? Yes.
Did I hope that McCain-Palin would win to effect some checks and balances on Congress? Yes.
Do I believe the election was gamed by the Dems, enabled by a biased MSM, and forfeited by the Repubs? Yes.
Do I want our president to succeed in steering our country towards economic recovery and preserving our National Security? Yes.
I’m an optimist by nature, but I cannot shake a gut feeling that something is very wrong with the hope and change picture that has been painted for us.
The Universe, or God if you prefer, doesn’t always answer our prayers the way we expect. It’s like praying for a Lexus because you NEED transportation. Your NEED will be fulfilled, but it’s doubtful you’ll get the Lexus because the REAL NEED is transportation.
I, too am an an optimist, and Yes, something IS very wrong.
What need though is fulfilled by Obama?
Obama will not fulfill our needs. He and his left-wingers will DECIDE what they think we need and then decide if they will provide it.
The government should stay out of our lives, except for an occasional, but temporary, helping hand.
The ideal is to help people help themselves through education and job opportunities. To quote an old maxim, “Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime.”
Tuppence, please, please send what you have found about the Romney campaign against Swift to RRRA or to Larry.
Even please send it to Lady Forrester de Rothschild’s group—it is very, very important that people see this stuff and that it gets wide play.
Send it to Sarah Palin too, Greta at Fox, brietbart tv
and Canadian Free Press.
Ani, it’s been my experience that if you stray from the black/white worldview adopted by the loudest people on a blog, if you think it’s safe to express any thoughts or wondering that doesn’t fit just right, if you try to do any THINKING instead of staying RIGID, you will be labeled a concern troll.
My advice is to do what you’re doing, be true to yourself, and never stop thinking. They’re your thoughts – no one has the right to censor you. You should only feel good about your ability to think and to wonder.
Lorac — nice to see you here.
Ani, it doesn’t matter what you want. It’s not as if there is a Santa Claus out there to grant us wishes. When the voters chose Bush, I knew that the president was a loser. The job does not make the man, but the other way around. More than anything, habits make the man, and you can predict without being a soothsayer what the Obama presidency will be because you’ve taken the time to look at the man’s qualifications, character and habits. But the best predictor is hidden: habits. Because of the long campaign we were able to see Obama’s habits: blaming, disrespect, cheating (copying other person’s ideas), and lack of courage to take responsibility (100+ “present votes)
Here is my advice to you: sit back, relax and watch the events and Obama reveal himself, the way events and actions revealed Bush, Bill Clinton, and the other presidents you are familiar with.
His habits and his character are what make him so terrifying — I have no misconceptions or false hope that he will be anything other than what I have decided about him a long time ago.
I fear for the welfare of my country and seek the best way to keep an active voice and be of service to that agenda — NOT to his. His agenda clearly is not an honest one. And I can’t just sit back and ‘watch’ —
That is how we got into this trouble in the first place — too many people remaining passive in this country instead of speaking up.
you’re right, ani. you’re right. being complacent is equivalent to being lazy, and not fighting for the future of the country.
way events and actions revealed Bush, Bill Clinton, and the other presidents you are familiar with.
Events have revealed that Bill Clinton helped prevent a second genocide/holocaust in Europe and look at all the honor he has received for that – NONE.
I have to disagree.
He bombed a country flat (Serbia) and took sides for a communist/muslim state (Albania)
without understanding the history.
Kosovo is historically serbian/christian.
This was my year that journalism died in Germany, Because they reported exactly what You just said.
Never considering the other side or questioning the authenticity of reports.
Pure rah-rah propaganda in the media.
Serbia was not bombed flat, if you want flat bombing, turn your eye to Chechnya. The Balkan tragedy was like a disease spreading from region to region. Blame MUST be place on Germany who unilaterally precipitated itself in acknowledging Croatia’s independence. Would any of this have happened had the regions of the former Yugoslavia not known before hand that Western Europe would support their break from Serbia? It just did not happen in a controlled manner as the EU had wished.
The kosovo Conflict was much later than the establishment of Croatia.
And Kosovo is historically Serbian/Christian.
The Albanians moved in under Tito.
Here in California lots of Mexicans are moving in.
After a while do they have the right to demand independence from the US?
Lets say, when the population has reached 80%?
What will You say, if China bombs the US to “free” California from the Americans.
(Of course this example is weak, since the Mexicans were here before)
Serbians lived in the Kosovo very very long time.
It was the ethnic cleansing that had to be stopped. The Dayton Accords spelled out that the objective was dignity and freedom for all ethnic groups.
Well, I did not want to defend Milosevich.
Even though I find that Holocaust is a little bit overstated.
I think this Kosovo Conflict will be the good old days for what is to come.
Albanians are Muslims and they have a foot in the door to Europe.
The Jihad has a foot in the door.
If You look at Chechnya you will find the same.
They are muslims.
The USA is still in the cold war mode.
The enemy is russia and serbia.
And according to”the enemy of my enemy is my friend” You defend the wrong guys.
In my opinion.
The enemy is extremist islam.
And You just elected Barack Hussein Obama.
I was not paying much attention to world events back then, but I firmly believe for a number of reasons that Pope John Paul II, a renowned peacemaker, was grateful for the role the United States played in that conflict. I also believe that he gave Hillary Clinton credit for much of what was done to contain the conflict. I wish I could be more specific, but I don’t think this aspect was ever really acknowledged or reported by the press…not that I know of, anyway.

Ani, do you find yourself wondering as I do where is Homeland Security in this equation? Where is the CIA and other organizations put in place to protect us from infiltration into our government by those who wish to do us harm. Does Bush and Cheney who is a cousin to this man not know his background whether he is indeed a citizen or not. Where he comes from and what his intentions might be? Just some things I ask myself as a concerned citizen. Are they in on this FIX and why. Why has the DOJ closed any door on questioning him. Anyone else ask these questions?
Bush and his cadre absolutely sat this one out to let McCain lose. Bush may be unpopular but he is still the President — are you really trying to tell me they could put the DOJ on this campaign for all the fraud???
I have never seen the Republican Party so quiet. That takes away nothing from all the Repubs. who honorably went out to fight for and vote for Mac in good conscience.
Backs up the theory that they were very lukewarm about Mac, felt the Rep party needed to be reinvigorated after their failures these past 8 years and having lost their way – so they let this election go and then come roaring back in 2012. I have heard this more than once.
If anyone could sit on their hands (and I’m talking political operatives and elected officials now) to let this travesty happen — then they obviously don’t care about us either if they are willing to play politics here.
That is most frightening of all.
yes, yes, and yes, especially this part:
I canvassed for McCain/Palin and I met several people who said they wouldn’t vote for McCain becasue “he is a liberal.” One person even told me he was “no better than Hillary.”
This was last week….the Bush/Rove-loving talk radio hosts did their job on republican voters over the past year. I still cannot figure out WHY.
now that i’m breathing again, allow me to post a message from HuffPo (i know, but it was article actually questioning O)… is this scary or what?
“Most of all, just look at Obama’s serene smiles, on election night in particular. That’s the smile of a living buddha (one who as awakened to his true self, namely, this Self we all share; we all share being aware of this right here: our shared becoming”
It’s stuff like this that make me so angry at the republicans chortling at “tired old RINO McCain’s” loss, and cheering to eath other that “it took a Carter to get a Reagan.”
Carter never had millions of glassy-eyed minions worshipping his “lightworker” feet. Carter didn’t have a insanely liberal/partisan congress. Carter didn’t hide everything about his past adult life. Carter was a graduate of the USNA and was unarguably a kind, gentle, decent, and loving man.
For all of Carter’s weakness, he never would have spent 20 years cheerfully supporting Jeremiah Wright. Carter wouldn’t be BFF with William Ayers. Carter didn’t flip the bird at opponents, and he wouldn’t make crass jokes about bedridden former First Ladies.
You’re right fluffy bunny. They are not really paying attention. Obama is like nothing we have seen before in AMERICAN politics….and I don’t mean that in a good way. He is a cult of personality and very dangerous. The time to stop him was before he and his slimy thugs got their hands on real power. It will be very difficult to pry them out of their positions once installed. They will infest our government on every level.

Dear Fluffy Bunny,
You are doing great damage to you own cause. You are blaming republicans. Obama came out of your party and you didn’t care until he dissed Hillary.
Now you want the republican to save you WHILE you blame them.
Not Smart Fluffy Buny. Not very Smart. There are way more of us than there are of PUMAS.
We have half a mind to let you twist in the wind with the Fraud that CAME OUT OF YOUR FREAKING PARTY. YOUR ACORN PARTY, NOT MINE.
The DNC is loaded with corrupt jackballs who now control congress. But no, it not your fault, its a those republicans again.
Every time you PUMAS BASH the republicans you are digging your own grave.
Many repubs read this site. YOU ARE TURNING THEM against you. Personally I would like to convince many repubs to work with PUMAS. But when they see stuff like this they are going to say “typical DEM, blame the other guy.” And they are going to walk.
I’m a republican who listens to all these talk radio people.
Romney lead the bashing against Sarah Palin. He must be stopped.
Limbaugh was a disgrace this entire election. Calling John McCain “Yosemite Sam” is a disgrace.
Hannity did a much better job changing from initial skepticism to working to appreciate the GOOD things about John McCain, just like I had to do. I supported other candidates in the primary, but once it was McCain vs Obama, I became a wholehearted McCain supporter.
Tragically, many very influential republicans like Limbaugh and Michelle Malkin refused to do so.
and that cost McCain/Palin this election.
The PUMAs showed up. The PUMAs volunteered along side me, and were more enthusiasic than most republicans.
Republican CYA attempts don’t move anyone forward; they make it easier to repeat the same problems next time.
And Mitt Romney’s treachery MUST BE EXPOSED.
You somehow forgot to mention that Rush Mocked Obama and Biden 3 hours every working day and tore him apart. Rush praised and defended Palin.
McCain would not go on Mark Levines Radio Show or Rush’s. He was aksed. Palin was asked she went on both.
Shouldn’t McCain take some of the blame for people not wanting to vote for him? I voted for him for two reasons
1) he is not Obama
2) Palin
His campaign botched so many opportunities and McCain derailed all attempts at really going after Obama and Ayers and Wright and Odinga.
Malkin supported Palin vigorously.
any you, just yesterday called McCain a tired old RINO right here on NQ.
you don’t think there’s anything wrong with that because it’s common behavior among many, many right wing blogs and radio personalities
that kind of namecalling and belittling of the candidate FROM HIS OWN PARTY cost him this election
I think the cards were stacked against McCain on many levels. Some were in his control, some were not. Laying blanket blame in one place is really not productive at all.
By and large Americans are lemmings who follow other people based on feeling, rather than adhering to concepts based on thinking.
If I have to lay blame I would lay it at the feet of the American public. Critical thought just doesn’t seem to be our forte.
More Americans can identify a photo of Judge Judy than Justice Ginsburg, yet it seems everyone wants everyone to vote on everything. This is reality in 2008. Welcome to Idiocracy.
Man you are not even close to what I meant.
My comment was in the context of someone blaming PALIN for the loss. I voted for McCain/Palin and I worked to get out the vote as well. I wanted the universe to vote for McCain/Palin.
You PUMAS are still trying to blame US?
Obama is in YOUR PARTY. Democrats hatched the bastard. If Hillary was top of the ticket you would have NO PROBLEM NOT VOTING FOR McCain.
Hillary helped Obama win. She appeared 79 times campaigning for Obama. BLAME HER.
They have been delusional, gaga over at KOS since last summer. It really makes the whole site look like a bunch of simpletons now.
How is it that there appears to be no journalist (professional or citizen) in the US or further afield who cannot get something seriously negative on Obama, a witness, doucmentation, etc. whatever it takes to show who he really is?
With Obama’s past connections and activities, would there not be deep tracks, evidence relating to something scandalous that would make the people of America sit up and pay attention. Does he not have an achilles heel?
If the story was big enough I think the MSM would listen.
I blame Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity. Why didn’t they warn us about what a bad character and empty suit Obama is??
They never once mentioned anything bad about Obama. I blame Rush and Sean too. Especially Sean for not playing that Reverand Wright tape.
Nice work republicans for getting Obama elected. The dems had nothing to do with it.
/sarc
Where have you been. That is all Hannity played. Had it not been for Hannity, the whole Wright, Ayers, Pfleger et all would not have been covered.
/sarc means sarcastic.
I am being sarcastic because it seems that the dominate meme on this board is that the republican are to blame of Obama existence.
No — that is not true — Hannity was foaming at the mouth and if not for him we would never have heard about Rev. Wright. Hannity was on this for almost two years. Credit where it is due.
I am not a fan of Rush but he has been playing this stuff over and over for months.
Otherwise, the only journalists out there would reporte fairly were Greta Van Susteren and Lou Dobbs. The rest — with rare exception, koolaid drinkers.
How do you spell G E O R G E S O R O S?
I haven’t been a heavy poster here, but I’ve been here since June. I’ve considered myself a PUMA, although I’ve actually always been an Independent Democrat-supporter.
What I thought about Fox News, as I watched O’Reilly fawn over BO, and saw that they weren’t in the tank for McCain, is that they consider themselves more “patriotic” than “true conservative.” They are also a financial enterprise that has to watch the bottom line like all other businesses. They rose to their current status on the premise of supporting the President, i.e., supporting America. I think this may be more true than saying they supported Bush or conservative politicians over Democrat or liberal politicians. I know that defies their reputation, but I believe they saw the writing on the wall, that the Dems would win, and have been positioning themselves accordingly.
I also believe that most of the MSM have been doing the same, but with different slants. They all share the same motive, which is economic survival. But I think they are mostly interested in ensuring they are NOT seen as obstructive to the change in government, because they believe in their hearts that it is good for the country to avoid any more upheaval. They don’t want to incite riots, they don’t want to take down the government and create chaos. They want a new direction from a new administration. They may, somewhere deep in their souls, have some idea of BO’s dirty past and shady connections. But I think they are turning a blind eye to it intentionally because they believe that there is no better alternative.
It’s obvious the MSM and DNC wanted to stop the Clintons returning to the White House. Nobody wanted a continuation of the Bush dynasty or its policies. Third parties had no chance of election. It’s actually a good thing, in retrospect, that John Edwards didn’t do better in the primaries. There were no other Democratic candidates with any chance. And it was impossible to convince most people that any Republican was going to be significantly better or different than Bush. This is why there developed that sense of inevitibility around BO. There was nobody better in the offing, once you ruled out the Clintons and the Republicans.
As much as I personally detest BO (see, I still can’t bring myself to type his name), and struggle to contain my revulsion for BO/MO and their entire entourage, I am starting to understand why the MSM, including Fox News, have taken the approach of wanting to support what is best for America, considering we are in such dire straits at this time. I suppose if there is a major scandal against BO before he takes office, it might actually be worse for this country than letting him give it his best shot for the next four years. I don’t like it, but I too want what is best for this country, because I fear that more scandal and hatred within America would tear the fabric of our society too greatly.
I am therefore resigned to “hope” that our country can pull out of this slump, regardless of who is in charge. I’m not in favor of destroying BO, no matter how much he deserves it, because I fear it would be very bad for our country. I can’t bring myself to support him, but I hope he can manage to avoid driving our ship of state onto the rocks.
Unfortunately, although I admire your hopes, I dont share your confidence.
Oh, did I express confidence? Sorry, I didn’t mean to. Actually, I’m scared shtiless, but am trying desperately to hang onto some hope that things won’t be as quite bad as we fear.
Ani – thanks
I always take the time to read something you have written.
… America has chosen American Idol over competence, patriotism, knowledge and experience.
You’re absolutely right, Ani.
Now, say it with me… SARAH PALIN in 2012!!
Yep, I want to participate in the administration. I sure do. I want to run for office, get elected, and go after Nancy Pelosi and company and ship them to that bridge to nowhere and see if they can see the “U.S from there house”. I am amazed that there are people in office willing to shut out how there constituents feel.
I mean, if they are going to turn the other way and let the media pick presidents, let people get bused in from other states to vote, allow people to register to vote 79 times, bring the dead back alive, have black panthers monitoring voting sites with weapons… let goldfish register to vote, allow people to use there sears card to make donations to a campaign cause the site lets any numbers be used, take money from hamas and third world countries, and let illegal aliens in our country and not bat an eye…What the hell is the point in having a election or any form of government?
If Nancy and company have done nothing this entire time, do you believe Obama is going to all of a sudden inspire them to all of a sudden do there job?
Are you serious? The reason we are up shit creek is due to the fact people LOVE to complain about what is wrong. Online. But when they get out in public they fall in line behind a party that threw there ass to the curve. Yeah, they really are going to apologize for treating women like crap for almost two years. Uh huh..yeah, that apology for Senator Clinton is coming real soon…yep, they are even sad they called people “racist”…no, they didnt really mean for you to stay home on election day…they were just messin witcha ya..sure there going to appoint a whole lot of women to positions…yeah and I got some dirt to sell you.
I for one, do not want any future daughters of mine feeling as if they have to just “accept” things when they dont go your way. What happened to fighting for what you believe in? Yes, crooks normally use jacked up methods to win but they do it because people let them and dont call them on it. So many people have this idea they need someone to speak for them and instead of speaking for themselves.
You dont like the way the media shows bias in there reporting? Cut the shit off. Hello! In order to make money, to have ratings, etc etc…they need YOU. You don’t need them. Believe me, cutting off CNN will not cause you to be unable to put food on your table. Unless you work for them.
You think those producers wont change there tune? They are responding to the people. The “sheeple” I meant people, want to hear back to back coverage on how historical this election is. They dont want the truth because then they will have to step back into reality.
People who support Obama watch them, they are a given. It’s the ones who dont support him that have a impact. Maybe they will stop airing all of these Obamafest pieces if you cut the crap off.
Oh and ANI great article
It’s good you are keeping your voice out there, Soldier. I am sure people will be turning to you in the future for your analysis and good advice re. policies, etc. Also – we want to insure quality treatment of our citizens in the armed forces.
When the reputation of entire media institutions which took decades to build rests on the transitory infatuation with one man, the msm is in trouble. Virtually without exception.
Journalistic integrity of any news organization is the coin of the realm. The cavalierness with which they have just shot themselves in the foot has been one of the most surprising outcomes of this entire mess.
Even Obama supporters interested enough to seek out informed observation and analysis will no doubt be left, in a matter of months, to grapple with how seriously they have been led astray. His mask will come off, reality will set in. No pretense of credibility remaining. And at the point the media will be left holding the bag, having utterly lost its reason for being.
I’ll carry your water any time, Patsy!!
I think it is really really important that all of the outrageous promises that he made in order to win votes not be forgotten, like everyone having the same healthcare plan that congress has – that promise should be shoved back into his face just relentlessly – because a lot of people fell for that one and it aint ever gonna happen.
Well done again Ani.
Our support or lack of it appears to be irrelevant as were our votes. I am curious to see how long it is before the cult becomes disillusioned.
a good account.
We need to speek out for our interests. Have call to actions and spread the word. We need to spend these years informing the citizenry, to have an aware and educated electorate and MAKE MEANINGUL CHANGE in the next election if this one doesn’t provide. You and I both know most likely it will call for a new president. And hopefully it will be a woman.
I’m prepping for the new tshirt and bumper sticker:
O
shit
twenty twelve
A message to the Moderate GOP party: If you don’t form a committee to oversee the fraud of this election and arrest the party to make a point, you will never have the whitehouse again. This race was won on fraud- and the people involved in this fraud have names. The privacy invasions on people lives also have been invaded, these people involved in these acts have names. Ohio and their leaders- Indiana and their leaders- Pennsylvania and their leaders- FRAUD! One thing I admire of Mrs. Palin is that she went after corrupted people- and I have not seen any republicans with a back bone like she has and probably will never see it.
I believe her title is Governor Palin, not Mrs. Same for Hillary – her title is Senator, not Mrs.
Go Emanuel on these guys!
I read an article just now about how gun sales are booming in the wake of Obama’s election.
Ani, I share your conundrum.
Some pathways for the way forward are easier to see than others, which are shrouded by the abyss.
Para mi, I will continue to dig the dregs of the open source world, as much as I am able, to document;
The last 2.5 years of power struggles and dirty money deals. A third of the way through the Dem primaries money and furniture was moved to the other side of K street. That is when the election was decided. It was not one person one vote that determined the ultimate outcome. It is critical now more than ever to be “self informed”. Mr. LegTingle said his job was to help BO not us.
Continuity of Government is another area of major focus and concern. The level of contracting, for instance, that has taken place to “offshore” the critical mechanics and functions of government has to be reversed or no matter who is elected, we are sitting ducks. (And I do mean AFFFLLLAC!!!)
In my humble opinion, due to the means used in installing BO as POTUS and his consummate lack of experience, he will be forced to rely on people who are;
1) Not Republicans or Indie’s
2) Not the Dems who directly remind people of Pres Clinton or Senator Clinton.
That would be an admission he is NOT even qualified enough for the job; to have formed those long term relationships of key people.
3) Ironiclly, due to BO’s poor judgment, he will chose people he identifies with or intuitively knows can be “used”. (I think this is what raised concern on Mr. Johnson’s part.) BO does not do well outside his “comfort zone”. The demands of the office of POTUS are, as BO said, “above my pay grade”. BO is not so dumb as to not no he is NOT equal to the task. He has never been fast on his feet when speaking truth to power, as Amb Wilson pointed out, historically he was know where to found. That leadership skill is not a learned behavior, it born out of character and taking principled stands.
BO’s flanks are not viable; defended only by rhetoric. That will continue for only so long. What we will see is second tier Clinton hacks and the Potomic Two Step set to Rap music. I only wish Tupac would have thought of it first.
So as we ponder, I would share that the cost of birth of my grand daughter now stands at slightly over 100,000 dollars for mom and baby.
That just AIN’T right.
Twenty percent of America’s homeless are veterns. That just AIN’T right.
“Work on what has been spoiled”…
Here’s the explanation, as backwards and impossible as it may seem to us: A lot of people *THINK* that Obama is the true patriot.
No foolin’.
Here in Seattle, they’ve had a run on flags, and people (everyone from AA’s to the liberal whites) are saying things like (paraphrased from a news article), “For the first time in a long time, I’m proud of my country,” and “I never felt a desire to fly a flag before.”
We had people spilling out onto the streets, celebrating, on election night. That wasn’t enough. Just about every day since then, there’s been a gathering somewhere to party/celebrate – daytime gatherings near the downtown mall, evening gatherings in one of the ‘hipster’ residential areas, etc. There might even have been a small victory parade at some point.
Seattle is psyched about this to a simply amazing degree. It’s jaw-dropping.
It feels awkward to be disagreeing with them. I mean, we were all on the same side a year ago, anticipating the disappearance of Bush in January, 2009. And then some
thingONE happened, and…And still my feelings on this are, the voters didn’t just choose the lesser of two candidates. They chose the WRONG one, the ONE who sure seems to be the least qualified person that has been nominated for the Presidency by a major party, since I’ve been voting. It’s the same “yuck, wrong” feeling I had about Bush in 2004, after seeing what his first term was like.
I’m now wondering what the ONE is going to get accomplished over the next 4 years. After all, we know how it went for him in the Senate, and he does have to start thinking about 2012 any time now…
The only way Obama could be reelected in 2012 is if he effectively deals with the terribly serious problems that now confront our nation.
So, are we to hope that he’s able to do that?
Or are we to hope that he fails, and throw up every obstacle we can?
I think we should all honestly examine our own priorities as the next four years unfold.
every one the trolls are lurking everywhere I just fathom how many there are Obot trolls just like the movie lord of the rings.
No board had been safe today.
best thing to do is ignore the O trolls after the first couple of years we will have to shoval them up off the streets like dog turds
Back during the Summer of Love around 1967 or so, there were two distinct and opposing aspects to the “hippie” counterculture. One faction embraced Timothy Leary’s maxim “turn on, tune in, and drop out,” and the other faction advocated activism and involvement against the war and the political powers in charge. One faction looked inward for cosmic consciousness and dreamed about “Strawberry Fields Forever”; the other faction marched against the war and ultimately gave us Bill Ayers and the Weather Underground.
In retrospect, both of these factions were extreme expressions. It was the schizophrenic split in the so-called “hippie movement.”
Nowadays, overwhelmed with despair, frustration, and rage, we are faced with similar options. We can turn off the television and “drop out,” finding the Strawberry Fields in our daily routines, or we can opt for difficult action, braving the gauntlet of jeering Obots and MSM pundits in a quest to restore the health of our country.
Gee Whiz. I guess that in the process of writing this, I became certain of what my choice will be. Thanks Ani for sharing your feelings and encouraging us to examine our own.
oowawa,
Thanks for your post — yes – just encouraging debate here.
I don’t think anyone should tune out or lie down and take it — stand up to be counted is what I advocate — as long as we keep engaged.
I am sick and tired of seeing this kind of fraud happen — if the American people don’t say enough is enough and hold govt and media’s feet to the fire — it will continue to happen.
Ani, your article more clearly expresses what I feel than pretty much anything I’ve read yet. I didn’t vote for Obama or McCain and may be considered one who didn’t take a stand, and yet it was my stand. I wanted Obama to lose more than I wanted any particular candidate to win, but disagreed with almost every position of McCain’s and couldn’t vote for him. I didn’t want him to win either. And now I can certainly feel the spirit of affirmation Obama’s victory has instilled in the African American community at large and am heartened by it, though I have no better opinion of Obama than I did on Nov. 1. But I don’t want people to suffer just so the world can see what a fraud Obama is, although I sorely want the world to see that.
I tend to have a conspiratorial view of current events…hopefully, my views are not too extreme, but they are definitely not conventional.
I have thought since last year that Obama’s core supporters were the same people who supported Bush/Cheney. I think that has become more apparent with the appointment of Rahm Emanuel as Chief of Staff…who I think could very well be puppet Obama’s Dick Cheney. Emanuel has the neocons covered in the Middle East; Soros has them covered in Russia; Obama has them covered in Africa. They still have to worry about China, which may be significantly affected by the worldwide financial crisis. I think Reagan’s post-election recession had something to do with defanging OPEC and then something came along and tripped Japan somewhere along the line. Now China. Coincidence? Accident? Don’t know. Very convenient, as was the financial crisis, which, although brewing for years, exploded right on cue.
The bankers and globalists and corporatists are covered…just look at the campaign donations; look at the bios of the people in power, most notably Emanuel and Pelosi.
The evanagelical voting base would not have shown up at all if not for Sarah Palin, who is now being savaged by her own party for really, really stupid reasons. They are afraid of her. She’s not afraid of them….they ARE cowards, Sarah.
So who does that leave? The conservative middle class and working class who have played by the rules. Too bad people. Rules are made to be broken…right George and Dick and Barky and Rahm.
Obama will probably decide who to shaft, the unions or the minorities or the middle class, after he gets a look at the polling…sees who really voted for him..who does he need to get reelected.
Hillary Clinton or Bill Clinton could upset the apple cart if they just tell us what is really going on. They have absolutely nothing to lose now. Come on Hillary. One false step by these clowns and let them have it. If Sarah Palin makes it to the US Senate, Palin and Clinton would make a great bipartisan team….but they have to stir things up and not pull any punches.
Remember the book Primary Colours? God, what I wouldn’t give for another anonymous tell all book.
Strawberry: that was fiction. Hold on and I think Reality will provide.
I thought it was finally revealed that George Stepho..Stephalupagus… whatever, was the one who wrote it. Semi-fiction. Names changed to protect my political future kind of stuff. I could have sworn there was a huge kerfuffle over it. It made a great movie though.
Joe Klein wrote it, and it was fiction with some basis in truth.
Strawberry, I’m afraid just sucn an “anonymous” book will appear, written by Romney supporters, detailing Sarah’s stupidity, selfish greed, and promiscuous behavior. Shudder.
Which will also be fictional.
Let them waste all their time and resources on bashing Gov Palin.
Four years is plenty of time to get her true record of accomplishment (which surpasses many of her detractor’s accomplishments by far) to the public.
She is the only one who has not been afraid to tell it like it is..precisely why ‘they’ are very afraid.
When she promises to clean things up and hold people accountable, you have to wonder about those who would be against that. What ARE they afraid of.
Here’s a hint- it ‘ain’t’ her clothes.
“I have thought since last year that Obama’s core supporters were the same people who supported Bush/Cheney.”
You mean the voters, right?
I am starting to think that the power behind both campaigns, Bush and Obama, are the very same people too.
Me too. And if you look at the numbers and think about it the same people that tilted the election to Bush/Cheney in 04 were the ones who put Obama over the to.
I am sick of hearing people equating standing behind the newly ‘elected’ President as doing what is good for America. Supporting a flim flam man who conspired to steal the nomination of the Democratic Party, bribe the MSM, and rig the election, in order to ‘win’ merits no support for his backhanded success. If this creature had won fair and square; that is, if the voters, fully informed as to his internal rot and ascendancy to power up through the sewers of Chicago politics, still supported his candidacy, I would have thought their choice stupid but, would have supported the victor. However, BO did not ‘win’ this election in that way; and absolutely nothing anyone here rationalizes to the contrary will change my mind. For me, a Jew, it would be like supporting a Nazi, based on claims I should unite with my fellow country people, in the best interest of the country. If it comes down to this, they can all go to hell.
(Does anyone else want to volunteer to help me on my action projects? There’s so much work to do; and so little time. Email me at twice my initials at gm.)
In other words, you support the democratic process only so long as your own candidate wins?
I’ll support any of Obama’s policies and efforts that seem to be in the best interest of the nation. I’ll speak out against any that don’t. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt until I see what he actually does.
This is no different than I’ve done with any past president–including George W. Bush.
Our candidate did win the popular vote. Her name was Hillary.
Damn right !!
“Pardon me, but I cannot wish ill.”
Maybe the dumb masses need to take their medicine and learn the hard way. They were too stupid or lazy to get the facts, so now we are all stuck with an Obamanation. The last thing the country needs is for his first term to seem at all successful and re-elect him. The thought of a radical Marxist not having to worry about running for anything again scares the Hell out of me!
The hunt is on for the person who is smearing Palin. I would not want to be that person. Bin Laden can rest until we find the bastard that is making stuff up about Palin. There are millions of pissed off people.
Biegun debunks NAFTA, Africa smears on Palin.

I’ve also joined Together4Us.
I’ve got my pitchfork, torch & toilet plunger ready for action. Let’s go get ‘em.
Can’t Barky stop the Fitzgerald investigation now? Doesn’t DOJ fall under exec branch? Also, I was wondering…are you guys going to stay in your parties (dem, rep) or go Indy?
Not til he’s inaugurated.
Let’s go after the “natural citizen” problem.
And, if Obama has committed treason, and/or felonies, he should be prosecuted. If the country doesn’t survive removing a problem president, it wouldn’t survive the problem president. We are such wimps.
SUPREME COURT JUSTICE SOUTER ORDERS OBAMA TO PRODUCE BIRTH CERTIFICATE DECEMBER 1
This is interesting. Souter tells Obama to produce the vault copy by December 1, 2008. I believe the messiah will defy the Justices.
Who will force the issue? Who wants to open up that pandora’s box? Imagine if there is something on that birth certificate that disqualifies Obama from the office of the President. What are you going to do? Start a civil war? There will be blood in the streets you try to enforce the rule of law. This should have happened before the election. Obambi knows it too.
If The Supreme Court Decides??
At this point, Supreme Court Justice David Souter’s Clerk informed Philip J. Berg, the lawyer who brought the case against Obama, that his petition for an injunction to stay the November 4th election was denied, but the Clerk also required the defendants to respond to the Writ of Certiorari (which requires the concurrence of four Justices) by December 1. At that time, Mr. Obama must present to the Court an authentic birth certificate, after which Mr. Berg will respond.
If Obama fails to do that, it is sure to inspire the skepticism of the Justices, who are unaccustomed to being defied. They will have to decide what to do about a president-elect who refuses to prove his natural-born citizenship.
“I can see a unanimous Court (en banc) decertifying the election if Obama refuses to produce his birth certificate,” says Raymond S. Kraft, an attorney and writer. “They cannot do otherwise without abandoning all credibility as guardians of the Constitution. Even the most liberal justices, however loathe they may to do this, still consider themselves guardians of the Constitution. The Court is very jealous of its power – even over presidents, even over presidents-elect.”
Also remember that on December 13, the Electoral College meets to casts its votes. If it has been determined that Mr. Obama is an illegal alien and therefore ineligible to become President of the United States, the Electors will be duty-bound to honor the Constitution.

THERE CAN’T BE ANY BETTER NEWS THAN THIS. WE WILL EITHER HAVE A NATURALLY BORN CITIZEN FOR POTUS OR OBAMA WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.
THIS CAME FAIRLY LATE FROM COL.CATHCART. IT JUST GOES TO SHOW YOU. WHEN YOU WANT SOMETHING DONE RIGHT AND RIGHT NOW, CALL A MARINE.

Ani, I don’t have any ideas… I share much of what you describe. But reading your words helps me not to be paralyzed and keep thinking on how to move forward; and I thank you profoundly for that.
I will have to keep reminding myself them; especially these:
Thank you.

The thing we Republicans and you moderate Democrats MUST do is hold the line on the constitution. We must, must, must not permit Obama to change that document. His strategy will be to sell constitutional changes not as changes but as “additions.” But first we must all agree on stopping him. Unfortunately, there are too many Democrats who still believe, for example, that health care is a “right.” Once the Left can assert one economic program as a constitutional “right,” we are lost. Consider this: none of the constitutional rights enumerated in that venerable document guarantee any material or economic support as a “right.” The only possible exception might be the 6th Amendment right to counsel, and that is relatively insignificant, and inapplicable to most crimes which are trivial. You Democrats raise taxes, and spend money to your heart’s content on social programs until you bankrupt the nation for all I care, but don’t f**k with my constitution. Don’t call health care, or welfare, or financial bailouts a RIGHT because they’re not. The framers intended it this way: there is NO RIGHT TO ANYTHING MATERIAL OR ECONOMIC IN NATURE. PERIOD. When Obama starts this we have to shut him down. Or they will soon declare everying a right and industry and entrepreneurs will leave this country in a New York minute. They already are. So basically we are f*****d for 4 yrs.
