Objective … I agree with your view on Loving vs VA. But also, consider this: The State of Virginia never said that marriage would suffer harm if interracial couples were allowed to marry in that state. What they argued was that the “integrity of the races” would be threatened. And that, the US Supreme Court replied was NOT a legitimate state interest justifying the law. Virgina never argued that interracial marriage was a threat to the existence of marriage. It argued that “miscegenation” or the mixing of the races would result if interracial marriage was permitted. THAT said the court, is no business of the state. There is no parallel between same-sex marriage and interracial marriage. Never was. Goodbye to same-sex marriage and good riddance.

Dude … we Republicans think that we ARE the center of politics. Millions of Obama supporters and Democrats in California voted for Prop. 8. It passed. Get over it. It represents the mainstream of American thinking on this subject. My proof is that Florida and uh … I think Nebraska also did so. Same sex marriage will die because the vast majority of Americans see it for what it is: a sick joke, invented by Lefties with goo-goo eyes for everything the Europeans do. Marriage is almost non-existent in Europe precisely because the Euro-Left made it the law throughout Europe. NOBODY gets married in France anymore because the institution has been rendered a meaningless, rotting, corpse, without appeal for anyone gay or straight. Europe’s birth rate is also in a nose dive and has been for years. Any wonder why???? The Left wants to do this to America and its institutions: to render them all a meaningless farce. Wake the hell up before we have no more liberties in this country. We might make some small changes in contract law that would address some of the concerns of homosexuals and lesbians.

the AA/hispanic opposition to gay rights has been going on for a long time. they want everyone else to treat them as equal (or superior), but they refuse to the same for others.
the “tactic” was quite clearly employed by obama and the democratic party when they made the calculation to support the rights and dignity of racial minorities OVER that of gays and women.

Prop 8 was a California bill so naturally Arnold has to comment on it. His comment is more for political expediency than anything else – although I do believe he supports gay rights. Obama not speaking about this means nothing. You can’t really jump to a conclusion about this until he says something.

Yes, if Clinton were running for President, she would have supported the gay community in this issue like she always has. But California *did* vote for HRC in the primaries, 52 to 42, so don’t say they deserved this for supporting Obama. They basically just got screwed first and will be quickly followed by a long line of other interest groups that supported the messiah.

I have no idea if its genetic or not, I really don’t care honestly. Some called themselves Gay and choose a same sex partner it is a choice, its a choice to come out in the open or not, its a choice to live your life with someone of the same sex or not, or go about it without anyone knowing…its a CHOICE!

So don’t tell me its not a choice, life is full of individual choices and you make them accordingly to how you feel you want to live.

Palin in her remarks was saying just that its a choice that some of her best friends made, she has not given up on them but its their choice, not her’s so she is not going to critique them in anyway. Simple put I guess what she was saying is to each his own, it’s just sad that some did not understand that.

This might sound “off”, but I am glad it passed.

Only for the reason that it will be challenged in the courts and the more these cases get sent up the circuit, eventually the SCOTUS will rule on it.

No correction required — the article says he “says” he was opposed to prop 8 — but then he publicly came out and said he was opposed to gay marriage.

You cannot have it both ways! I’m not sure you actually read what I wrote.
