But I also do not want the government or anyone else to make that decision for me or others. I believe that you have to come to a personal awareness of what the whole thing actually means. I would definitely agree that people often do not realize what a profound occurrence this can be for so many women once they are actually confronted with this choice as well as how it can affect them afterwards.

Do you realize you are displaying the exact sort of behaviour you are calling out? This won’t get us anywhere or further the feminist cause. I’m sorry but you are not portraying any of the strength, dignity or class of which you speak.

Nobody is denying that Palin has achieved a certain amount. But that doesn’t make you suitable to be President. Do you really want a President that is a young earth creationist? It’s laughable. Even if they don’t impose creationism in the class room, how can they possibly have the judgement to lead the country in the 21st century with such ludicrous, and obviously disprovable ideas? If somebody lacks the ability to analyse such basic concepts - are you really gonna put them in charge of the most serious financial crisis in a generation?

Perhaps due to to our cultural predisposition to bluntness, ‘feminists’ over here blatantly stated on TV that Palin “was against abortion” (yes they used this term) and so “couldn’t be a feminist”. In the leading magazine “Opzij” they bashed her further on this (including allowing Trig to live) yet gave Naomi Wolf’s insane rant on the US (apparently never heard of today’s Russia, let alone open dictatorships) a full three pages.
I’m not too familiar with American feminists’ backgrounds but over here they were/are - to coin Monty Python - basically upper-class twits (they eg lamented ‘that women are not allowed to work’ while it took well-into the sixties before working-class families finally made enough money NOT to need two factory-jobs just to make ends meet). They endlessly rant on how wonderful it is ‘to better oneself thru work’ even when not-college educated women for a large part end up working behind the supermarket-till etc. and how women should be forced to work more hours ‘because it helps their development’. Right. Humans only exist to work. How positively Marxist.
