Would Barack Obama Hire Barack Obama?

Barack Obama is Jewish. Who knew? How else to explain today’s demonstration of chutzpah in action. (For the goyim among us, “chutzpah” in Hebrew is used indignantly, to describe someone who has over-stepped the boundaries of accepted behavior with no shame.) What am I talking about? Did you see the application that Barack is requiring prospective workers in his Administration to fill out. According to the NY Times:

A seven-page questionnaire being sent by the office of President-elect Barack Obama to those seeking cabinet and other high-ranking posts may be the most extensive — some say invasive — application ever.

The questionnaire includes 63 requests for personal and professional records, some covering applicants’ spouses and grown children as well, that are forcing job-seekers to rummage from basements to attics, in shoe boxes, diaries and computer archives to document both their achievements and missteps.

Only the smallest details are excluded; traffic tickets carrying fines of less than $50 need not be reported, the application says. Applicants are asked whether they or anyone in their family owns a gun. They must include any e-mail that might embarrass the president-elect, along with any blog posts and links to their Facebook pages.

The application also asks applicants to “please list all aliases or ‘handles’ you have used to communicate on the Internet.”

The vetting process for executive branch jobs has been onerous for decades, with each incoming administration erecting new barriers in an effort to avoid the mistakes of the past, or the controversies of the present. It is typically updated to reflect technological change (there was no Facebook the last time a new president came to town).

But Mr. Obama has elevated the vetting even beyond what might have been expected, especially when it comes to applicants’ family members, in a reflection of his campaign rhetoric against lobbying and the back-scratching, self-serving ways of Washington.

As a first start, let’s ask Barack to fill out one of these.

Here’s the link for the pdf version (could this possibly be a hoax? can they really be this obtuse?).

Let’s find out what his grades were in college. Let’s find out when and why he changed his name from Barry to Barack. This would certainly put to rest the furor in some sectors over the still missing certificate of live birth. You got to admit that this is a funny as hell chutzpah moment.

Wonder if he’d admit to all the traffic tickets he accumulated and failed to pay until he ran for president.

“During his first year and a half as a Harvard Law School student, Barack Obama racked up 17 parking tickets in Cambridge, Massachusetts — adding up to fines of $400 which were not fully paid off until January 26, 2007.”

Sure, hypocracy is hypocracy, but last time I looked, these “holy men” weren’t nominated by their party for the Presidency of the United States, and as a candidate, Sen. Obama promised the most transparent administration ever, but he apparently used a presidential candidate “signing statement” to carve out a personal exemption.

Oh dear Lord, stop the torturing!!

Chutzspah does not begin to describe it — “Handles you have had on the internet” — so he can investigate if you have EVAH said anything less the worshipful about The One.

Well, I guess he won’t be hiring me anytime soon. Pity.

He needs to fill out the app. and splash it across the front page of the NYT. I hope everyone tells his to get stuffed. I know they won’t however. They are all dying for jobs now that the market has dropped so much post election.

Well Ani, I don’t know about you, but a google search of “oowawa” would certainly kick out my application, if not distinguish me for further special investigation. And “cookiegramma” in the post right above yours also sounds pretty suspicious. Well, I don’t think that many of us can look forward to jobs in the new administration.

He knows that he is dirty — and each question is probably a direct indication of what he has to hide.

He is paranoid — and it sure seems like he is collecting enough information to blackmail thousands of people.

I’d say this is typical behavior for a passive aggressive.

He probably also wants nude ID photos — and all the notes from sessions with shrinks etc. for all family members and friends.

We really don’t know if the ONE’s core values are left or right — but this seems like something that the KGB would do.

Larry,

Get your facts straight. Chutzpah is not a Hebrew word. It’s a Yiddish word.

Comment by Larry Johnson | 2008-11-13 16:07:50

Jon,
You are wrong:

Chutzpah
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
For other uses, see Chutzpah (disambiguation).

Look up Chutzpah in
Wiktionary, the free dictionary.
Chutzpah (IPA: /ˈxʊtspə/) is the quality of audacity, for good or for bad. The word derives from the Hebrew word ḥuṣpâ (חֻצְפָּה), meaning “insolence”, “audacity”, and “impertinence.” The modern English usage of the word has taken on a wider spectrum of meaning, however, having been popularized through vernacular use, film, literature, and television.
Chutzpah is also similar in meaning to the term “bravura” in music, and the former may be a better term to describe certain forms of musical audacity. This is especially the case as dance, jazz, and jazz dance in particular foster a competitive spirit that no longer exists in classical music to the extent that it once did. Chutzpah could describe a banality in which classical music is disrupted or turned into a competition or duel, while on the other hand a stubborn classical temperament could be viewed as equally audacious, as well as difficult and risky.
In Hebrew, chutzpah is used indignantly, to describe someone who has over-stepped the boundaries of accepted behavior with no shame. But in Yiddish and English, chutzpah has developed ambivalent and even positive connotations. Chutzpah can be used to express admiration for non-conformist but gutsy audacity. One common English adaptation of “chutzpah” is “hoodspa”, which has a mostly positive connotation. Leo Rosten in The Joys of Yiddish defines chutzpah as “gall, brazen nerve, effrontery, incredible ‘guts,’ presumption plus arrogance such as no other word and no other language can do justice to.” In this sense, chutzpah expresses both strong disapproval and a grudging admiration.
The word has also entered Polish from Yiddish and is written as “hucpa” in Polish. It likewise means arrogance, audacity and shamelessness.
One example given of the ultimate of chutzpah is: “A boy, having just been convicted of murdering his parents, begs the judge for leniency because he is an orphan.”[1]
Related terms in Hebrew are khatsuf (חצוף) and khatsufah (חצופֿה), which means an “impudent man” and an “impudent woman”, respectively.

Comment by Jon | 2008-11-13 16:25:40

Larry,

Do you really rely on Wikipedia for everything? Chuzpah in its current usage is Yiddish, which is itself a language derived from the marriage of German, Polish, and Hebrew in the Jewish ghettos of Europe. So, yes there’s a Hebrew root, but the word itself is Yiddish, at least as you’re using it.

Comment by Galt's Pizza Parlor | 2008-11-13 16:33:17

Now there is no “bad guy.” hahahahahaha this is starting to look like fun. Hmmmmmmm maybe someone should get ahold of a blank application and we could have fun with it and “make up” an applicant? Would that not be fun?

This is surely the most absurd of all the outlandish things he has done. His flip-flops, his questionable associates, his over the top productions with Greek columns, etc.

From someone who chooses to hire a lawyer rather than produce a simple document of birth, this is absolutly the limit.

Questions about an applicant’s family? What about his extended family in Africa and Indonesia? His illegal immigrant aunt in the U.S.? Shouldn’t the American people know the background on all of them?

This is only the beginning. Soon we will all be required to fill out similar papers whether we are seeking a job or not. This isn’t “Big Brother”, it’s “Command Performance”. Your leader has spoken.

EXCLUSIVE: Did Next Commander-in-Chief Falsify Selective Service Registration? Never Actually Register? Obama’s Draft Registration Raises Serious Questions

By Debbie Schlussel

**** Copyright 2008, Must Cite Debbie Schlussel and link to DebbieSchlussel.com ****

*** SCROLL DOWN FOR UPDATE ***

Did President-elect Barack Hussein Obama commit a federal crime in September of this year? Or did he never actually register and, instead, did friends of his in the Chicago federal records center, which maintains the official copy of his alleged Selective Service registration commit the crime for him?

It’s either one or the other, as indicated by the release of Barack Obama’s official Selective Service registration for the draft. A friend of mine, who is a retired federal agent, spent almost a year trying to obtain this document through a Freedom of Information Act request, and, after much stonewalling, finally received it and released it to me.

But the release of Obama’s draft registration and an accompanying document, posted below, raises more questions than it answers. And it shows many signs of fraud, not to mention putting the lie to Obama’s claim that he registered for the draft in June 1979, before it was required by law.

Comment by Lee Ruth | 2008-11-13 17:32:23

Any other candidate who lied about the information on this document would have been derailed. The information differed from what he stated.

Comment by Chris | 2008-11-13 17:37:26

Nice researched article, but just like the BC, it won’t ever be proved and it won’t ever matter. Now that he is elected, his pack of wolves will never relinqish their hold on the Presidency, at least not until the next election. There has been so much stuff brought out for months that show his possible illegalities as a candidate and nothing is provable. Most authentic documents and paper history were scrubbed well in advance of his declaration as a candidate probably by the DNC. Until there is some absolutely rock solid proof of him being not eligible for the job, he will be sworn in on Jan 20 and we will have to live with the consequences of ignorant and lazy Americans who refused to demand/ignored the truth. Look the other way and pull the lever is what they did. You reap what you sow guys. Unfortunately the crop coming up may poison us all.

Larry - I suspect a lot of the forms are standard, expanded by his criteria.

The net effect of the long forms will be to limit applicants and delay a lot of the 3,000 plus appointments in a new administration.

Obama is one of limited experience and he realy needs advice. Futher more I wonder if he is a quick study. We saw him stumble when he got off script with Hillary. He has never had to accomodat the range of subjects he will encounter as president. He will have to make timely decisions and and not vote president. That is why I think Rahm and Biden will be running the government.

In the end it should be fun for this blog to track the quality of his appointments. More over I hope we can hear about the people that have turned down offers from the selection committee

Has the new Obama salute been selected, yet?

Yes, its called “flipping the bird.”

It’s called The Obama Salute to America. It’s followed by a smirk and a hardy laugh out loud.

thanks to karma for posting the pdf link.

good god! and this coming from a guy who WON’T EVEN BE AUDITED AND NEVER TOLD US A THING ABOUT HIS PAST?

Comment by Pat Racimora | 2008-11-13 17:07:50

LOL–I sure couldn’t pass the “have you ever criticized Obama’s policies” test!

This all makes me feel very uncomfortable about the direction in which our country is headed.

Comment by leslie | 2008-11-13 17:07:51

Honestly, this has to be a hoax!
Did you read the questions re:property ownership?
Like # 27 for example….”Please describe the mortgage terms for any properties listed inder question 21 including the rate, date, holder, service entity, and any special circumstances surrounding the acquisition of the mortgage(s)

Does buying with or from, or through, Rezko count as a special circumstance?

geesh!

Comment by Texas Playwright | 2008-11-13 17:08:05

I’m agreeing more and more with the theory that the MSM played propaganda for BO so they could vet him after the stolen election for news ratings, and the theory that Karl Rove and GOP donated lots of money to BO’s corrupt campaign and got a lot of Repups to vote for him in the primary to help him get the nom and the corrupt win so they could watch him flounder and take over in 2010 and 2012.

So now we have a corrupt dicatator more and more people are hearing about. Not a fan of NYT; will take that news for now.

Comment by Galt's Pizza Parlor | 2008-11-13 17:15:04

I agree with the MSM propaganda part but digress after that. I would look at who controls the MSM and what their agenda is. Look at the owners and major shareholders. I think this goes way beyond ratings. Maybe its just my tinfoil hat buzzing but that is how I feel.

FREE PIZZAS for any trolls if they will just go the fuck away for good?

No takers?

Thought I had the obligation to try.

I do have an announcement: at the suggestion of a NQ regular, now that the colder weather is with us I will be offering hot chocolate and oatmeal for those cold mornings. In payment I accept Quatloos and the usual credit cards. Sorry, my restaurant’s pay toilets do NOT take Obama coins!

Comment by beebop | 2008-11-13 17:17:59

Galt, darlin’ … they come here to self abuse.

Why worry about them? I find them amusing. We can guage how quickly the koolaid is flushed out of the water system by the level of anger as it escalates. Should be interesting. I give it to … uh, um, uh …. President’s Day. hahahahaha …. Can I get brown sugar on my oat meal? And is it steel cut oats or Irish? Just askin’ …. :)

Comment by Galt's Pizza Parlor | 2008-11-13 17:30:48

Oh I was hoping for at least a 5 minute break from the trolls, after the gloating period subsided.

The oatmeal is Portland Cement brand.

Comment by beebop | 2008-11-13 17:54:13

Didn’t we have enough of Oregon and Washington during the primaries? puh-leeeeez …. Nothing from Portland. sigh. Do I need to do instant?

Comment by Galt's Pizza Parlor | 2008-11-13 18:15:41

Portland Cement is a type of cement made lots of places.

Just glancing through that .pdf, I’d venture to guess there is absolutely no one in Washington (or Chicago) who could possibly qualify.

They’re going to have to pluck 12-year-olds out of Bumfuck, Kansas and Armpit, Idaho to fill the positions.

Comment by Galt's Pizza Parlor | 2008-11-13 17:17:54

People will lie when they think they can get away with it. Unless someone was under surveillance, there is no easy way to tell what if any aliases they’ve been using on the net. Old speeding tickets probably are not even recorded anywhere. I think you get the point.

Comment by leslie | 2008-11-13 17:25:20

You’d have an easier time finding someone in the State prison system who could pass that “test”.

D.C. ?? Chicago???

Ha Ha

Well at least we know what the Huffy and DK people were up to with their hateful attacks on Hillary, Sarah and JM…fulfilling pre-employment applications.

Comment by IndieDogg | 2008-11-13 17:24:23

If someone can obtain the actual questionnaire, I would like us to fill it out and post it, full page, in the NYTimes (a/k/a the Obama Daily Campaign Newsletter).

Of course most of it would be filled out with the same notation “(refused)” or “(forgot)” but I think the point would be made.

And, I’m actually not kidding.

Let’s fill out his own questionnaire for him and post it somewhere, if we can find the coin to put it in the Times. The London Times would probably run it.

How perfect! The unvetted “One” demanding stringent documentation requirements for his own minions. Can’t wait until that domestic security force gets underway and all the 18-25 year olds find themselves drafted into multiple years of service.

The shattering of the Obamatrance should be quite spectacular, a redux on Shock and Awe.

Incredible.

Comment by Artemis | 2008-11-13 17:47:19

After initially being sickened by the hypocrisy, then slightly amused, now I’m feeling a bit chilled by all this. There is something disturbing about the details he wants on all his employees. I heard earlier today on Hannity’s radio program that this list included diary entries that might reflect negatively on the Obama administration. After data is gathered on employees, will more be sought on…say…the neighbors of employees? The former classmates? Second cousins twice removed? All this, and he’s not even president yet!

Comment by Peggy Sue | 2008-11-13 17:55:23

He wants to know what is in a personal diary?? This goes beyond creepiness. We’ve entered an Orwell scenario.

God help us all!

Comment by FembotsForObama | 2008-11-13 17:47:20

He even wants to know what is in your diary! Only a crooked administration would want to know so much stuff about a person. I wonder when oaths of allegiance to Obama will be forthcoming?

Ah silly little obots. This is what happens when you vote with adolescent like emotions rather than using rational, logical thinking.

Hope you’re proud of yourselves.

Kinda looks like BO wouldn’t be able to get a job in his own cabinet with those criteria.

Thanks, Chicago Joe…I have only just started to express my opinion to a wider audience, but was surprised at how fast the obots came out…a testament to Larry Johnson and others who soldier on in an environment where the truth or questions about the truth are so unwelcome…

Comment by Troy | 2008-11-13 21:25:01

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out the reason for this overly extensive vetting…It’s done not to disqualify anyone from an administative position, but to instead get as much leverage against his subordinates as possible…I think it is safe to say, the more skeletons the merrier…A squeaky clean applicant has no place in a room full of corrupt scoundrels…Birds of a feather must flock together…If a group of “good old boys” are going out for a night of smoking and drinking at a stripper bar, they don’t want a bible thumping,
do-gooder, christian tagging along…It would make too uncomfortable…The Obama gang is worse than a bunch of drunken sailors, they’re Chicago styled politicians and it does’t get any worse than that.
DO-GOODERS NEED NOT APPLY!!!

Comment by RebelCarol | 2008-11-13 21:39:44

This is either another hoax or is a legitimate federal request for information for prospective government employees that is not new. The reason I state this is because on page 4

V. Tax Information

(33). Please furnish a copy of each federal and state (and, if applicable, municipal or foreign) tax return, including any amended return, for 2005 and all subsequent years. If filed separately, furnish the same documents for your spouse.

If I remember correctly, there was a big uproar here in Oregon last year because state, county and city employees, and elected officials, were required to fill out a questionaire similar to this. Some people resigned rather than give this information because it was felt to be too invasive.

Comment by RebelCarol | 2008-11-13 21:48:57

I meant to state why I thought this might either be a hoax or a legitimate request for federal employment. The request for tax returns for the year 2005 and subsequent. So the use of the year 2005 suggests to me that it is not a current questionaire. Am I making any sense?

I’ve been busy over the last few days,so i havent’ been reading to often. But I just heard on Levins show that Bill Ayers admits being a family friend of the Obama’s that jerk off bold faced lied to the american people. I’m sorry but obama is rediculous.
After eight years of nothing but bold face lives from bush and friends the american people deserve better, and I dare any nitwit on any of the Big three or CNN and MSNBC to tell us other wise. I am royally PISSSED! It’s on. NO JUSTICE! NO PEACE! If he thinks the next 4 years was going to be easy think Barry better think again.

To Rebel Carol: Maybe they just used the old form rather than type a new updated one. I’ve done that at start-ups myself. Also the point about no questions about military service is a good one, something I hadn’t thought of.
