How is this different than foreign terrorists? They also believe that they are right and have a moral imperative to resort to violent measures to make their issues of protest known.

It is simply naive to believe that blowing up buildings or any other form of infrastructure may not involve the possibility of innocent citizens’ being harmed or killed.

So, would that mean that the Bush administration might legitimately be seen as foreign terrorists by Iraqis?

How might Ayers have viewed a government that drafted people his own age to pursue another foreign war that they were morally opposed to? How might he have viewed the shooting of students at Kent State by that same government? What might he have thought about the assassination of a progressive American president, the murder of civil rights activists, or the assassinations of Martin Luther King and RFK?

I’m not justifying what Ayers did, but I understand it. He was a product of the times he lived in. The Weathermen did take care to avoid inflicting harm on human beings. This certainly stands in stark contrast to what we generally think of as terrorists, who make inflicting death and injury their goal. To apply the term to Ayers is to distort what people like Osama bin Laden are. Terrorists are people who have embraced not only a radical political doctrine and unlawful action, but evil.

Still, he was and is a McVeigh/bin Laden wannabe, despite any philosophical/economic differences there might be. Ayres should be still serving a prison term, at the very least, for his attacks on this nation and her people.

You are defending a domestic terrorist — the UNIBOMBER is in jail and Ayers is “free as a bird”. Ayers should be in jail — and he is still a terrorist today — he is an unrepentant terrorist. His age does not remove the fact that he tried to bring about change in the US using violent tactics. He is a rich narcissistic immature frat boy.

Anyone who goes around bragging about what he got away with — shows clearly that he is a narcissist — just an old fart narcissist — but he still craves the attention. He is PROUD of what he did.

YOU are defending him and claim that what he did was a long time ago — HE has yet to apologize to the people he terrorized.

He admits he is GUILTY.

I remember when college students were all considered the enemy — bumper stickers on the cars of the old farts told us we were the enemy. Ayers was responsible for this division between generations — and it was he who told students to go home and kill their parents. I NEVER took drugs — I studied hard and got my degrees. I went to college with Vietnam vets who were against the war. My father was career military — opposed to the war, because he saw that it was based on a lie. Ayers harmed the peace movement — and he did it for his own self glory.

Ayers is still an evil person — ruled by his Shadow self. He should be shunned by the media and given zero time.

Maybe we should be glad he’s getting exposure — maybe he’ll be given enough rope to hang himself. The more we know about the fatuous scum the more disgusting he seems. I’ve been wondering, since his name first came up in the campaign, if any parents of his students have become alarmed. It would be interesting to find out.

If he’s ever Obama’s guest in the WH, I hope there’s widespread outrage. There won’t be if people don’t really know who he is.

So was the murder of JFK. So was the murder of RKF. So was the murder of MLK. I guess we should get over that too.

I guess you see nothing wrong with Charles Manson either. He supposedly never killed those people by his hands, and his now harmless rotting in prison. Should we let him out and teach at a university?
