The Sexism Continues…

The headline on the MSN homepage (via MSNBC) declares, “Dem sources: Clinton to help wife get State job.”
This headline refers to the fact that President Clinton is disclosing his financial records and those of his charitable work. But the sexist opportunity was too good for MSNBC to pass up. President Clinton is not helping his wife “get a job,” he’s merely presenting financial documents to Obama’s transition team. Ostensibly, all potential cabinet members and their spouses are also going through this process now. The big difference, however, is that the Obama team made Clinton’s financial records a campaign issue.
Can you imagine the headline turned the other way? I don’t recall seeing, “Liddy Dole to help husband get job” or “Mary Matalin to help James Carville get job.”
There are major problems with the MSNBC headline. First, of course, it presupposes that Senator Clinton wants the job. There’s a report today in the New York Times that she’s “hesitant” to give up the independence of her senate seat. But of course independence is what it’s all about.
A key element of Obama Sexism in this recent campaign was the constantly pushed narrative that Hillary was dependent on President Clinton for her senate seat and her presidential campaign. Chris Matthews infamously said “on ‘Morning Joe’ [that] the reason Hillary Clinton won her New York Senate seat and is a front-runner in the presidential race is because Bill Clinton ‘messed around.’”
And who can forget Greg Craig of the Obama campaign? A former Clinton classmate and friend, when discussing Hillary’s important role in bringing peace to Northern Ireland, claimed that Hillary Clinton was an appendage to her husband and only met with “the women”:
She traveled to Ireland with her husband and met with the women, and the women, of course, were heroic in their work for peace. But she can’t take credit for bringing the women together. They were the courageous ones that did it themselves. What she said was, “It’s a good thing you’re doing it. We’re all for you. I hope you’re successful.” That’s not instrumental. That’s not bringing peace to Ireland.
Of course Hillary never claimed to have brought peace to Northern Ireland. The Obama Sexism trope from Craig is even more glaring when you ask, What foreign policy credentials did Obama have? Hillary was President Clinton’s closest adviser and she was assigned many important tasks in his administration. But Craig, like MSNBC now, perpetuates Obama Sexism in order to diminish Hillary Clinton.

What else is new? MSNBC will never pass up a moment to trash Hillary. They’re not worth it.

I tend to resent people telling others what they should and shouldn’t post. If something is out of line, the moderators can remove it. I didn’t take it as bitch-slapping. I just thought it was weak, whining kindergarten teacher crap.

I think that the beauty of “opinion” is that everyone has one. That being said, if you want to slap someone, who am I to stand in your way? BUT right now my focus is on the sexist attacks on Hillary (and Palin).
I believe that camp 0 is using Hillary Clinton again — and that there was never a real offer of the SoS position. Hillary’s name was floated — because camp 0 knows that his media buddies will go into a feeding frenzy & that will keep the 0 name front and center.
I read them as well — not attacked since 9/11? WTF is that? Sorry. They had plenty of information to avoid what we now refer to 9/11 as though it is just a date. No one remembers “My Pet Goat?” Please. Someone tell me when we were attacked before then. Crickets? Yeah. I thought so. Iraq was to even the deal for Papa Bush. That attack was just an excuse. Afghanistan, any one? No apologies for shrub here. The similarities between the big media sale on 0bama as we got for both shrub and the war in Iraq is so similar that no way there isn’t an agenda that is not in the best interests of the average Joe the Plumber and Jane the School Teacher. The biggest difference is we had a huge surplus courtesy of Bill Clinton and a government no where near this size.
I am not a Bush apologist, so don’t get me wrong. I don’t like the man, and my anger is getting worse by the day. However, Clinton bears his own share of the responsibility for 9/11. First, he let bin Laden go when he was offered to him on a silver platter. Second, Clinton reduced our CIA by 25% and it was a technological dinosaur drowning in disorganized info. I don’t know what Bush’s team knew in his first months of office. He’s not off the hook, but Clinton set the stage.
I do give Bush some credit for no more attacks. That is the ONE thing he took seriously and is actually the only accomplishment I give him credit for. It’s still a miracle we haven’t been attacked since he kept both the Mexican and Canadian borders open. That I don’t agree with. I thought it was utterly irresponsible not to protect our borders.
Also, do you really think someone would go to war for ‘Daddy’? I wouldn’t think any President would be that ridiculous. I seriously don’t know what his reasons were! However, I don’t think even he is that immature.
I also don’t buy Clinton and the “great economy”. Not disputing it was fine while he was in office. However, Carter and Clinton set the stage for the Fannie/Freddie fiasco with their low income home loans based on race only. Carter initiated, Clinton expanded, Bush ignored. Tragic mistake, as we can all see now. Other Repubs tried to stop this. I’ve seen the video of Dems saying “everything’s fine–you are racists” while the Repubs are saying “disaster looming!” We know where that went.

Jiminy Cricket acted as Pinocchio’s conscience, because he would not have one of his own until he became a “real boy.” Who is acting as O’s conscience? Are we uncertain of O’s moral center? I can’t believe more people aren’t paying attention to the OVomit/MSNBC/GE payoff. When everyone sits around and complains that NBC and MSNBC are in the tank for OVomit, and then the truth comes out…that it WAS a bought and paid for media blitz by OVomit, Soros and the rest of the corrupt band of thieves…I heard this a month ago and finally it all made sense. Did we doubt that MSNOBOZO was on the take?
Back during the primary season when it was obvious MSNBC was promoting Obama and trashing Clinton, I thought there must be some quid pro quo with Obama and MSNBC. I told a friend when politicians receive good press from major news organizations, it just like receiving campaign contributions from a corporation but even better. The value of the gift does not have to be quantified or reported to the FEC and the campaign looks clean from corporate influence. Obama would be naive to believe MSNBC would not expect something in return if no deal was struck before the election. If Obama can promise unions to ban secret ballots for their support, I am sure there are a number of “behind closed doors” arrangements emerging in the coming days of an Obama administration.
This is turning out to be worse than a nauseating soap opera, if you can imagine that!
Hillary would be more of a benefit in the Senate. Why go through all of this for someone who trashed her?? Principles and values are more important and certainly not worth ignoring for someone as unworthy as Obama.
The only people she has to answer to in the Senate are her voters. I’d rather have those odds.
Obama set out to destroy the Clintons. He isn’t finished yet. If Obama doesn’t perform and his followers begin to rebel, the Clintons will once again be the favorites and the precious thug could not-would not- tolerate that. Michelle would simply go ballistic. Legally, the Supreme Court can remove Obama and prevent him from being President of the U. S. on January 20, 2009 because he is not a natural born citizen. There are two cases before the Supreme Court, Berg v. Obama et al [http://www.supremecourtus.gov/docket/08-570.htm] and Donofrio v. Wells (NJ Sec’y of State) [http://www.supremecourtus.gov/docket/08a407.htm]. One is before Justice Souter and requiring response from Obama and DNC by December 1, 2008. The other has been placed on the docket before Justice Clarence Thomas. There are other cases that are making there way through the Courts as well. Remember Obama has to be officially elected by the electoral college on 12/15/08. If Obama is declared by the Court to not be a natural born citizen, then the electors can’t elect him as President. Along with Berg v. Obama et al which Justice Souter granted the writ of certiorari, these two cases along with the other 14 or so cases effectively put Obama and the DNC in a corner. Under Article III of the U. S. Constitution, the Supreme Court will have to hear the case because it is a federal question and a true case and controversy like what was heard in Marbury v. Madison in 1803.
The Founding Fathers of the U. S. Constitution were clear as to the intent of the natural born citizen clause for a Commander in Chief or President of the U.S. I will be writing an article on a blog which highlights this point but here is a preview of it:
What is fascinating is that the origins of the natural-born citizen clause can be traced to a July 25, 1787 letter from John Jay to George Washington, presiding officer of the Constitutional Convention. John Jay wrote: “Permit me to hint, whether it would be wise and seasonable to provide a strong check to the admission of Foreigners into the administration of our national Government; and to declare expressly that the Commander in Chief of the American army shall not be given to nor devolve on, any but a natural born Citizen.” There was no debate before members of the Constitutional Convention of 1787 and the natural-born citizen qualification for the office of the Presidency was introduced by the drafting Committee of Eleven, and then adopted.

Bud’s post makes that quite clear. I mean, hear you have a woman who was quite a star in her own right before she ever MET Bill Clinton, and it continued to rise after she went to law school. That she is being treated like his appendage and women TOLERATE that from a major cable news outlet is extremely problematic.

Why are these media folks at MSNBC so threatened by the Clintons? I don’t get it. The other day Chris “adolescent” Matthews was interviewing Michele Bernard and Jennifer ? from NH - their faces were so serious and strained and obviously distressed at the idea of Hillary as SOS. If they weren’t so vile and dangerous, it would be laughable.
Vet BHO top to bottom, country to country, Chicago thug to DC/DNC thug, crook to crook in every city and then ask us about Hill, Bill and SOS.
