What the HELL has happened to our country?!? The party that was supposed to be for progressive values has turned into a bunch of race baiting, misogynistic thugs! The election fraud that the DNC screamed about in 2000 and 2004…they are now PAYING ACORN to commit! And our guardians of truth, the press has become a den of morons and liars unrivaled only in their incompetence anywhere in the world.

We’re spending BILLIONS of taxpayer dollars to bailout corrupt Wall Street insiders who have committed dozens of crimes their pet politicians refuse to even investigate! Our standard of living is visibly declining for the poor and middle class. And these kinds of things are happening all across the country in every aspect of American life!

Now I’m not going to blame all of this on the Jackasses masquerading as the Democratic party right now. It was in fact Republicans who started it! It was the party of *cough* “morals” *cough* that launched a witch hunt against Bill Clinton, and spent millions to set him up for getting a blow job. Now before anyone argues that point, think about this. Why did Monica decide to save a semen stained dress for months without washing it?!? That’s just EWWWW!!!

And remember who her next door neighbor was, the one who bought her place after she had to leave Washington DC. For those who don’t remember…that would be Bob Dole. And that witch hunt was led by Newt Gingrich, who was having an extra marital affair at the exact same time he was claiming Bill Clinton was unfit to serve in any capacity in the Government because he had one. Talk about your hypocrisy.

All of this has a root in the complete and utter failure of the MSM to do it’s job! They want the ratings now, to hell with the truth. It was their incompetence that led to 8 years of Bush as they praised him non-stop before the 2000 election, and took every opportunity to insult and tear down Al Gore. They did it again in 2004 when they kept running stories about Vietnam vets claiming all sorts of lies about Kerry. They knew they were lies, they knew when the courts ordered the ads pulled because they were lies. But they never reported on that aspect of it! And now they bring us Obama…with the VAST majority of them being so blatantly in the tank for him, even foreign press have commented on it when they themselves preferred him without any vetting. One has to look no further than the simple fact, that the masses in America have no clue who Aiham Alsammarae is.

Alsammarae is a name that should have been reported on every news channel in the world. He is wanted by Iraq and Interpol! Yet running around free as a bird in Chicago. He was convicted of stealing $650 million of US taxpayers money from Iraq reconstruction funds! Yet he was allowed to first make a donation to Obama, that was only returned after it was noticed by others. Then he put up his house as collateral to allow his and Barack’s dear friend Rezko to make bail….WTF?!? How were all of his US holdings NOT seized the second he was indicted for embezzling Iraqi reconstruction funds? Let alone allowing him to put them up for bail money for another now convicted criminal friend of Obama’s! Isn’t that the first thing the DOJ is supposed to do in such cases?

I could go on and on…but I think you get the gist. I am one Pissed Off Vet!

I have had most of these sane thoughts. The best I can do is to continue on in my little personal sphere, educating the people I work with and come in contact with on a daily basis. I work in the restaurant industry and so meet and work with many many young people. I am proud to think I had a hand in creating a small group of INFORMED citizens, who are already spreading the word in their worlds.

I am poor and broke and unemployed, but by God I have a voice and I WILL use it. Maybe I don’t have an internet Army but if I created ten informed young voters who will never trust the infotainment (alias the “news”) and they each teach ten others and so on- we can perhaps keep this country free and alive! We survived Bush, we can survive this. hunker down, press on and keep educating voters!

I couldn’t agree more! In fact I’ve posted as much on several other blogs and even emailed Lady de Rothchild. Concerning putting together some resources to teach voters how to learn the truth themselves rather than believing the BS being spoon fed to them by the media or 30 second ads on TV. Hell I even joined FreeRepublic just to post the suggestion there. People voting in utter ignorance benefits no-one except those who don’t want whats best for America, only whats benefits them personally the most.

Monica kept the dress because she was a kid and was going to hold it over him. Let’s get honest here. What he did was (pardon the pun) BONE HEADED and stupid. He got into trouble for LYING. If he had sat in the oval office and apologized to Hillary, Chelsea, and the “unnamed” young woman, so much of it would have just.blown.over. (another intentional pun). Who was the adult? Who was the President? Don’t go rewriting history. It is not attractive. And it doesn’t flatter anyone.

I have given up on politics. There is no reason to fight it anymore. Apparently the media can get anybody elected. The constitution does not really matter anymore and has been thrown out and is no longer enforced. Bush proved that much during his Presidency. Democracy in this country died many years ago. The public is too lazy to even look up some basic detail on the guy they are going to vote for and just believe what ever they hear form the MSM. After all they voted Bush into office for a second time. The only reason Clinton got elected is because of Perot. I just don’t see how we can make any difference. I can’t deal with individuals who watched 0-zero’s “race” speech and thought he was so “wonderful” — and they couldn’t be bothered to learn any more about him.

Apparently the majority of voters were both stupid and lazy.

I endured the WA state caucus — and it was a freaking waste of time — I can never get those three hours back. A whole lot of Hillary supports endured many more hours at their caucuses — and in the end WE did not make the decision — the DNC had already anointed the ONE.

I am discouraged as well. This article accurately reflects my feelings as well. Huge feelings of helplessness and disenfranchisement. I watched strong supporters of Hillary who were angry during the primaries, completely switch over to support The One. Bought with the new coin of the realm Hope and Change. Would it help to have a peaceful demonstration? A peaceful walk to the White House waving flags and protesting? I don’t know any more. I’m just depressed.

I’m not so discouraged. It’s interesting to me to watch how ideas/plans/programs are discussed. Some of John’s ideas are now being incorporated by Obama. Others? No.

As a democracy, we can hope that the result will be the best ideas put forth during the past 2 years.

Heaven knows, we really did need a change in direction. What we have been doing is certainly not working well.

There are red flags all over —

As so many good fictional detectives in mystery novels tell us — FOLLOW THE MONEY. Millions and millions were flowing into the campaign of an inexperienced, unqualified, unvetted JUNIOR Senator — why?

He’s a Jr. Senator with no real accomplishments — and a whole boat load of shifty friends and acquaintances. We are watching the biggest con job in the history of this nation. Laws have been broken and ignored during this historic “win”. We’ve seen more lying from this one individual then perhaps Bush told in his first four years.

AND I DO NOT WANT TO SAY: “I told you so” again. I told you so — will not revive the economy, or bring back the dead.

A President who is f**ked up isn’t just a joke (and this one has NO sense of humor) but his mistakes can kill people. Ray-gun made a bad decision in Lebanon and over 300 marines paid for that decision with their lives.

Anyway — I’m singing to the choir.

I have some very foul names for the media floating around in my head . . . . imagine the worst and you can guess what I’m thinking.

I agree it’s ridiculous about Rezko, but he has some small amount of deniability (even if sane people don’t believe it) with Rezko. Alsammarae was a KNOWN criminal wanted by Interpol and Iraq BEFORE Obama accepted that donation from him. And there is no way to spin it. He called the State Department to ask about him just prior to a private US security firm breaking him out of the detention center in Iraq.

POdVet your *rant* was so good. I believe we can make a difference. There is an idea nagging at me for months and makes me wonder if I did all that I could to inform voters before the election. We have a printer and I kept thinking I could create a flyer to pass out in front of a grocery store or put under the windshields of cars with some verifiable facts about Obama the media wasn’t reporting. There could be some local media attention from something like that to help get the word out. I am shy and I hate to think there was something else I could have done and didn’t for that reason.

I agree wholeheartedly w your post. I too have been very concerned since Nov. 4th, to the point of having bad dreams, not sleeping well and just generally being despondent. I don’t believe in any public officials too much. It is a rare one who really understands and is ready to fulfill their responsibilities.

Just remember, 50 million people did not vote for Obama. So when he starts pulling his crazy shit, those 50 million voices are going to get pretty loud.

I couldn’t believe it when Bush got elected and then re-elected. He has a past that would shame a hooker. This set a precedent and now Obama has pulled a scam. I believe Obama has not had to answer to anyone because he has played the race card. That is why alot of people don’t have to answer to anyone. But I will never give up on my country. I think when the chips are down, many others won’t either. It’s not going to be easy but anything worth having is worth fighting for.

I thought it was great to see how many people liked her, and for the reasons you mentioned. She is pretty impressive in many ways.

Even her lack of guile on TV was sort of refreshing to me.

I’m afraid her very reasoned approach to abortion, however, just wouldn’t sell to moderate and liberal women. They obviously did not trust her on that issue. And her lack of national experience was a problem, given Mccain’s age.

But she did a fabulous job, and the fact that the media was caught with its pants down on the latest “jump on the bandwagon to smear Palin” hoax was truly, truly a beautiful sign-off to this election.

I laughed myself silly over here watching the media pretend they hadn’t done exactly what she said they were doing.

Truly worth the price of the ticket this year…..

Linda Tripp was her name and she was a White House aide from George H. W. Bush’s administration transfered to the Pentagon in 1994. Tripp became Lewinski’s confidant, advised her to keep the dress “as evidence” and began recording their phone conversations on the advice of Lucianne Goldberg. In 1998 Tripp turned the illegally taped conversations over to Ken Starr. 49 Democrats in the Maryland Legislature signed a letter to the state prosecutor demanding that Tripp be prosecuted before she was charged by state authorities with violating Maryland’s wiretap law.

But a little known fact was that Linda Tripp had done much the same thing to George H. W. Bush and staff member Jennifer Fitzgerald (although she denied it) causing speculation that was the reason she was fired and not kept on by the GWB administration.

And, like Barry Soertoro’s government applications, Tripp lied on her application for employment with the government when she answered “no” to the question “Have you ever been either charged or arrested for a crime?” on the Department of Defense security clearance form.

And yet Tripp settled a lawsuit with our government giving her $595,000 of our tax dollars, a retroactive promotion, retroactive pay at the highest salary for 1998, 1999 and 2000. She also received a pension and was cleared to work for the federal government again.

And we wonder why Barry Soertoro is preparing to move into Our White House when it appears corruption and dishonesty is always rewarded.

If the New Dems start openly favoring the corporations as the Bush administration did, then, finally, the people of this country will wake up and demand change–REAL change. It’s disturbing to me that they are determined to “rescue” the auto makers–for at least the third time. It’s unfortunate that so many good workers lives would be impacted if the auto makers fail. That is precisely why the government should be regulating these companies, that the execs can’t walk away with a fortune while average people go under.

If an industry is considered “essential” and if it gets in trouble the PEOPLE have to bail it out, then maybe that industry should be under the auspices of the government to begin with so millions of workers don’t lose everything.

The average UAW is paid $71-$73 per hour. The average worker in my hometown is paid $7-$8 per hour. I sure don’t feel like paying taxes to subsidize other workers pay that is 10 times greater than what I pay taxes on. It is true that we live with a media that is no better than Pravda. IMO, the election outcome was fixed, as it was in 2000 & 2004. The New Democrats are no better than the NeoCons. It will pain me everyday that Hillary is not POTUS. That said, it looks like she will be in administration and I feel happy about that. McCain will be an adviser, and I am still hoping for RFK, Jr. for Sec. of Interior. If not, he will take Hillary’s Senate seat. All good.

It’s weird how this is shaking out. It’s almost like a triumvirate because Obama knows he can’t go it alone and IMO, he knows he gamed the system. I will keep hoping that some good will come out of these three (Hillary, McCain, RFK) good leaders being at the helm.

Yes, indeed. Maybe the next rant could suggest some possible causes for this loss of balance, to put it nicely.

Laissez-faire capitalism, a corrupt justice system, immorality and yes, conspiracy phobes, New World Order scheming could all be part of the explanation.

We all have some soul searching to do.

For my part, I will be watching closely to see how the Supreme Court deals with challenges to Obama’s eligibility for the Office of President and I will be watching closely to see what happens to Special Prosecutor, Patrick Fitzgerald under an Obama administration.

I think what’s happened is that people think about government in the only way they can relate, which is from an overly personal viewpoint. The role of government is sort of mixed up these days. Are they moral leaders? Are they administrators of government agencies? Just what ARE they?

Makes it hard to define a standard for election. Right now, it’s pretty much of a beauty contest. The one who says what people want to hear the most and looks the best wins.

We’re back to buying elections, that’s for sure.

I agree with your comments, and the country is changing rapidly, not for the better in my opinion.
While there is enough blame to go around, the root of the problem ultimately lies with the electorate. That sounds trite for more and more we seem to be losing our power.
BUT, I can guarantee that the majority in this country are tuned out even now, and could tell you the entire life story of their favorite movie stars, but hardly know the states and capitals!
It will continue to get worse as we lose more and more of our older generation.

The larger issue that lies underneath this is perceived “colonialism” masquerading as “skin tone” issues. And, as for Bobo–if about 40% of voters had not sat out the election, he might have gone down in flames. The American people allow this to happen time and again. They’re too lazy or feel too inadequete to sort out the facts, or they’re too discouraged, or they vote by party. Some believe the major parties are too alike, and most certainly think almost all pols are crooks. They listen to movies or music channels way more than Olbermann or Hannity.
I hope Bobo totally shocks his backers and turns out to be a middle-of-the-road appeaser. It will be better for the country and will give the rotten, lying, scumbag “journalists” their just due!

I recall very well, that on the very day Monica popped up in the news Newt Gingrich was already starting the impeachment process. So, to say Clinton was impeached because he lied is rediculous.

Then to find out later that Gingrich was having an affair with a subordiante at the exact same time he was crucifying Clinton for the same thing is just insane to me.

The Democrats are playing dirty, but the Republicans are the ones that made the game dirty to start with. I hope they redifine themselves into a party that is more moderate.

I’m going to keep saying this until people get it:

Until we address the images of women in film/tv that Hollywood sends out, misogyny will live.

It’s not just the conditioning of males, it’s also what it does to females. Women are taught to be objects at an early age.

Even with the so-called female ’super bad super heroes,’ the women are objectified in unseemly ways.

If you compare the film roles of women pre-1970 to today, the difference is like night and day. This is not to say that actress from by-gone days were not sexualized. They were. But because of sex code restrictions, they had to produce movies with female characters in strong, more human roles. Mildred Pierce with Joan Crawford is an example. There were far more movies where women were seen at least as human beings. Those were the images that fueled the modern day Feminist Movement. And it was the lack of powerful images after the 1970s that killed feminism in the next generation of women.

This is not to say that sexuality should be censored out of films. But there needs to be balance and there’s not now.

If they could get away from their lunatic 5% and be the party of smaller government/lower taxes/civil society they would have my business.

I am just not sure they can do it. And of course we have a press that will focus on the worst aspects of any non-socialist, which doesnt help at all.

They pushed Bush, they pushed the Iraq war, they fairly hogtied Clinton during his presidency and then let up on him after he was out. We’ve stopped watching them in our house. Others here have hit on some of these points, but here goes:

What has happened to our country?

1) The new media (cable news, talk radio, blogs & the internet, exploded into a 24/7, multi-channel news cycle that fed the public’s paranoia, its desire to be titillated by “reality” drama, then fed off of the individual’s sense of isolation until it had created a nation of semi-literate news propaganda junkies and “American Idol” fans.

2) Both of the major political parties saw this political “market” and decided to exploit it by hyping “hot button” issues that were emotional, irrational, and peripheral.

3) Both sides of the political spectrum (although the left was far more successful than the right) injected extreme, radical partisan politics into the educational system, especially into higher education. They both radicalized the younger generations of Americans and dumbed them down by discouraging the transferal of hard knowledge of civics, and by teaching revisionist versions (old revision or new, equally monolithic and incorrect) of history.

4) The result of this was a populace ripe and ready to accept the “cult of personality” type of politics.

5) The professional political elite, i.e., old political families, career politicians, and old PACs/influence groups, used these factors to tighten their grip on the political system and, indeed, on political discourse itself, thus strangling or squeezing out new ideas and new people. At this point, their control of the system is almost complete.

6) Finally, the “New Democrats” of today stole (and added to) the playbook from the “New Republicans” of the 90s, who had in turn stolen it from the “Old Democrats” of an earlier generation/generations, and in turn … well, you get the idea.

“Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.”

I totally agree with you pissed off vet. We tried our best to educate those who voted for Obama, but their eyes and ears remained closed, they still are.
Until Obama runs our country and our Constitution into the ground (And he will) they will not listen.
His actions should have been a red flag to all Americans, yet not even a majority of us wanted to know more than just the fluff the MSM was passing off as news.
His associates alone should have been enough to prevent him from getting the endorsement of the DNC, who by the way should have never endorsed anyone.
This election was an inside job that started years ago, right down to the acceptance speech being on the anniversary of ML King’s I have a dream speech. How obvious.
We have to live with that greased pig for four years, those ignorant voters did this to us, had they bothered to educate themselves they never would have done this to our country.
I can only hope and pray that Hillary is still here to pick up the pieces after yet another failed administration.
