Am in complete agreement with Nancy. Feel totally betrayed by Hillary. Read that she raised several millions for Obama while she campaigned for him all over the country. Too bad. Just wish I could get back the hundreds that I did donate to Hillary.
Sorry, nope. This year 2008 is the year I did not volunteer for any campaign after May 31st and stopped giving money after the GE. mcCain is the last politician to get my money.
What Hillary should do is set up to take donations from foreign donors like Odrama did, after all, what’s good for the goose is good for the gander. He was allowed to do it and has set a precendent now and no authority figure seems to mind. The brit love the Clintons and I’m sure others do, too. We had to have the POTUS token that the world wanted so the world can pay off her debt.
Sorry, Hillary knew the risk of continuing her campaign and also the risk associated with stopping the campaign with all that debt.
No more money from me for any politics, ever! I will not be exercising my right to vote anymore either. If I am not for the media darling then I may as well stay home and take a bath or go to bed and not waste time. We will know who the next POTUS will be in about 2 years. If they are stilling fawning over Odrama then he is in for 8, if he has lost favor, they will surely let us know who is the media darling at that point and that will be the 2012 POTUS. Trust me, Hillary will not be the darling.

I spend almost two years looking up trash on the ONE and spend endless hours roaming the internet and blogging in every state. Now, this article is asking us to help her get out of debt? While she ran up and down and “actually” got him elected? She convinced many to follow her over the cliff with him. I hope and pray that Obama does well and that the cliff is not reached in the next 2 1/2 or better yet, that Clarence Thomas brings up the oral agreement on December 5 and kick him out of the almost whitehouse invasion. If he does finally becomes legally our President, I will make it my duty to turn off the tv everytime I see her Or Hillary Clinton. Enough said!

It’s been several months since I last donated to Hillary and I didn’t intend on donating again, but if she is SoS then she will probably have to quit having events that will raise money to pay off her debt, so I will buy this DVD as my last contribution.

Agreeing with lark.
It’s a good rule against those who are rude enough to spam every thread, usually at the top, with the special rant they insist that everyone hear. That gets very very tiresome. However, it is a little unrealistic to expect people’s minds not to wander, and strict adherence would make a very dull conversation, which would work against one of the charming aspects of this blog. I see nothing wrong with exploring the ramifications of the basic idea of a post. Perhaps people should make more of an effort to relate their special news or view to topics: and if there is no way, they should find another thread. Sort of like, if you can’t say something good, don’t say anything at all.
The B/C story is stale, old, and boring.

I have to admit in the beginng I was with AnninCA on the BC issue. But since it appears Obama/DNC seem to be avoiding honestly answering the question with non-fake documentation I now have questions.
In two weeks it looks like the Supreme Court is going to look at the case.
If Obama proves that he is eligible to be president by the constitution with real documentation then I will be happy to call him the President of the United States of America come 2009.
However if there is a problem with his live birth certificate, or he refuses to bring it forward. Or it turns out he was adopted and made an Indonesian citizen, then Obama needs to step down.
This is an open thread, and the bona fides of the president are never going to be an old, stale subject. Even the trolls jump every time it comes up, or they say it is irrelevant, which only makes me wonder more, Why?
And by the way, AnninCA, I don’t even see where it was mentioned above. What are you jumping at? I was talking about spamming threads and that has been done on many subjects besides the BC.

I really don’t see the drama. I truly don’t. Bill’s foundation stuff is complex, so the vetting took a lot of work. It makes sense to me that it took time.
I saw the drama all on the part of the media. They are the antsy ones.
I personally am not inclined to give more to Hillary. I did more for her, financially, than any other candidate in my life.
It’s up to those who never contributed to retire the debt.

Given the involvement of the likes of Darragh Murphy with the McLame campaign and who knows where Blowers came from, I would perhaps suggest that yes you were all conned. If some of you paid it over to PUMA as opposed to Hillary directly and that money (remember they claimed all $20 million) then you have possibly had money stolen from you.
I wonder if Fox would be treated as complicit in this if the money is stolen, as they are the ones who kept broadcasting the Republicans who claimed that they had cleared her debt.
In summary one of two things happened.
Republican fronters deliberately set out to undermine Hillary by claiming her debts were cleared, knowing that they had in fact raised about 50c for her.
Republican Fronters stole the money, for the GOP or for themselves. Kind of ironic if that happened.
I personally think that the Republican fronters were just liars enjoying 15 minutes of fame at the expense of who they considered to be the “inadequate black male”. I do not think that they were thieves, although I do not put that past Republicans.

With all the extra the one made, why is it so hard to be an example of the shared principle he extolls and simply pay off the debt for Senator Clinton? Do people realize part of her debt, are the debts of others she helped during the primary? It was common practice for those in the same party to do this very thing; I guess this is more of the change, only applying altruistic principles to something that benefits the self.
Will consider a donation, need to think about this one.
I admire anyone who can actually watch repeats of how great Hillary was. Personally, I can’t even look it’s still so hurtful. It just enrages me that this was stolen from her. If she lost fair and square it would be another kind of thing to heal from, but she didn’t. This Country could have benefited so much from her skills. Sickening. and it double pisses me of Obama isn’t helping her with this debt. It’s such a slap from Mr. Uber fundraiser - or hey, maybe he can’t help her because his funds were largeley illegal and that presents a big problem.

Sorry Reverend Amy, but even though I supported Hillary in the primaries, as far as I am concerned, she sold out, and put her own ambitions before the well-being of the nation. She allied herself with Obama, not with us, her supporters, who believed her when she kep saying Obama was “too inexperianced” the whole campaign season. She can get her new BFF to pay off her debt. I work hard for my money, and it is far better spent on helping myself than another rich, inauthentic politician.

I’m sorry, but I have to agree with some of the others here. Hillary should have made Obama pay off her debt before running all over the country for him. I donated during the primary and even sent a donation to help pay off her debt. My family is one of the middle class on a downhill slide. Hillary and Bill have plenty of money and if she has any honor left she will pay off her own debt. That’s what I do, I pay my own debts. I am left at the end of this election with absolutely no sympathy for anyone who campaigned for Barack Obama.
She has plenty of Money. She can pay for her debt her self. The Clintons are worth more then a 100 million. Why would you ever want to give her any money. She sold out our country by backing Obama. She will go down with him. Just watch.

John Smith, wasn’t that their earnings over the period of 10 years? IIRC it was not the amount sitting in some bank account for use. And the truth about what Hillary did and why will not be known for a long time. Maybe she will perform a check-and-balance and maybe obama was strong armed by a faction of the Dem party to comply with placing her as SOS or else. Who knows?

Ann, that has been answered a lot of times. IIRC the numbers said on FOX by a Puma rep (i think it was Will) weren’t accurate at all. He misspoke and mentioned a number but it was inaccurate and he was talking about two different things and got confused. You can look it up on google or research it in the archives. PUMA isn’t one group, it was many websites - some 500 of them. I gave my donation straight to Hill’s site.
You have posted that question a dozen times this week alone. ENOUGH already, you make it sound as if it was all a sham or something. Full page newspaper ads were run by some of the groups, etc… and that all costs lots of money.

Hillary’s debt is now around 7 million. Not such a big deal after all anymore. And she transferred way more than that to her 2012 fund.
She’ll make way more as a speaker in the future, and there are sure to be books someday.

I’m not contributing a dime if it’s going to Mark Penn. According to Businesweek, $5.4 million of the $7.5 million owed is to pollster Mark Penn.
Contributing to Hillary’s campaign is what they call ” buying a dead horse”, a term usually reserved for the payment of alimony. I still like Hillary, and wish Obama was going to be her Secretary of State. But, she did help get the guy elected. So, “No thanks to the bridge to nowhere”.
