Clinton Derangement Syndrome: It’s just like herpes. Incurable and can rear its ugly head at any time.

“Barack Obama has superior judgment.” If the Detroit ‘Big Three’ had a dollar for every time a derivative of that phrase was uttered over the last two years, no bailout would be necessary. Not even the automakers could blow through that amount of cash.

The President-elect’s brilliance was the number one reason we were supposed to overlook the thin resume, ignore the lack of any true leadership positions in his past and not question his long term associations with an assortment of very questionable characters.

As he constructs his team, President-elect Obama seems to be showing some sound judgement and shrewd political skill. Larry Johnson offered up a great post last night praising the expected selection of General Jim Jones as National Security Advisor.

However, the media cheerleading apparatus just can’t help themselves when it comes to Hillary Clinton.

The Senator is so powerful that she weakens the MSM immune system. When the immune system is compromised the body is open to a host of infections and viruses. It is in this weakened state that long dormant viruses like herpes or Clinton Derangement Syndrome can burst to the surface. The ugly sores can last for weeks and are very contagious.

How else to explain the plethora of columns questioning the great Obama’s judgement for potentially tapping her as Secretary of State. Every one of these columns follows the same pattern. About six to seven paragraphs admitting why she is so qualified to be Secretary of State and a concluding set of two to three paragraphs painting Hillary Clinton and former President Clinton as so self obsessed as to be completely incapable of serving the Obama administration and working on behalf of the greater good of American citizens.

For the most recent example, you can read this column from Paul Richter. His closing is fairly typical for these columns.

In matters of state, it is the duty of the secretary, like other aides, to step forward and take responsibility for any failure of the administration, so the president is not blamed. If she cherishes her own ambitions, she be reluctant to do so.

And even if she’s willing to subjugate her own interests, will her husband do the same? Bill Clinton may be tempted to call a journalist, as he sometimes has done in the past, to put out a storyline that makes his wife look good.

The former president has been working with Obama’s team on a deal under which he would seek clearance from the new administration before making any speech that could affect U.S. foreign policy. But controlling those speeches may be difficult. The former president himself has joked about the fact that he usually makes up a large part of his speeches as he goes along.

The former Clinton foreign-policy official said that while Obama has said he would relish having a team of political rivals in his Cabinet, as Abraham Lincoln did, Hillary Clinton may be different.

“Lincoln never had to deal with the special dynamic presented by having this secretary and this spouse,” the former official said. “[Bill Clinton] loves politics and diplomacy, and it’s going to be very tough for him to sit back and not get into it.”

There it is, the sores burst out on the lips (or more personal places) in all their glory. No way to cover it up or hide it. They’ll sit there and fester for awhile until they scab over and heal, just waiting for an opportunity to burst out again.

Here are the questions I have for those suffering from this diabolical and ugly virus. Since becoming a US Senator and carving out her own political career independent from that of her husband, has Senator Clinton shown herself to be anything but a consummate team player? What defeated presidential contender not named as a running mate ever worked harder to help secure his/her rival’s November victory? When has she acted on anything in the U.S. Senate to benefit the activities of former President Clinton? When has former President Clinton’s influence interfered with her service to the people of New York and the United States?

The things is that the writers, reporters and pundits all know the answers to the questions above. Those answers are the reasons why President-elect Obama apparently feels comfortable enough to ask Senator Clinton to serve in his administration. The MSM hacks all know this too. It’s just they can’t help themselves. They are infected with an incurable virus. Occasionally, you can buy a balm or gel for some temporary relief, but if you have been exposed to Clinton Derangement Complex you know that there are times you will feel that tingle (much like the one in Chris Matthew’s leg) and the sores will come bursting out.

It’s cognitive dissonance, the ultimate admission that the UnOne has not got what it takes, and she does. After months of claiming otherwise, now all they can do is pull out the tired Repub memes about how power hungry she is. We have several commenters who seem to have the same problem: if she takes the SOS position it’s clear proof that she is “power hungry” and “will do anything.” Duh. If you are in public service, you are supposed to serve, even if the boss has been at odds with you. Actions are not proof of inner motives, especially in politics.

All of the Republicans that I have heard, say they are very pleased with Hillary at D. of S.
They would rather have Hillary as Prez rather than Obama but will be relieved with having her at State.

Foe the first time since becoming a loyal Clinton supporter I actually am relishing in the derangement.

Bring it on…These fools have one big problem now.

Being deranged against Hillary will be derangement against your own country and it’s standing in the world. Where I come from that is called treason.

Yeah… Clinton haters..
Show us how much you hate Hillary and your country.

Liz Trata was on FOX this morning and just listening to all the hateful things that she said of Senator Hillary Clinton “Drama Queen” I’d say she has the Clinton Derangement Syndrome for sure.

UBM,

I took your point, but we are not the MSM.

They are too busy with their CDS to ever treat O the same way — they are so busy lauding and complimenting him for something he hasn’t even done yet. We have no basis for comparsion.

You will also notice there are those on this site willing to give O a chance, even if they abhor him, if only for the sake of the success of our country.

I foolishly ventured over to DK and Huffpo and the CDS continues unabated. They would never give Hillary the benefit of the doubt on anything and she has a great record to stand on. The slime and vitriol continue there unabated.

Comment by Andy | 2008-11-23 16:36:51

UBM:

No you are not making a legitimate point b/c BO has no idea what’s like to be even questioned by the MSM.

Even BO knows it: BO’s joke to McCain “Hey the national MSM is really weak; nothing like the Chicago media..ha ha ha ”

This is about the CDS of the MSM and the MSM obsessive hatred towards the Clintons. SO…
it obviously seems you do not understand what this post and the comment of Seattle Moss you are replying to is about.

Not. If you love Obama most likely you hate your own country, like he and MEchelle do. Of course now that they are at the helm and can leave their own indelible fingerprint on our Nation, perhaps they’ll be proud of it for the second time in their lives, and maybe actually enjoy it here, at the expense of the rest of us of course.

Seattle Moss — what a great way to frame the debate. Well put.

We need to circulate that one every time these hopeless media hacks put out this false nonsense.

And when in the hell would you ever all a male politician “power hungry” — it is not power hungry for a man with a paper thin resume and 143 days in the Senate to run for President??? Surely they jest. No, we never heard that — just about his brilliant judgment. Well, he is FDR, Lincon and JFK all rolled in to one, and that is before he eats his morning waffle.

Thanks. Rob Warrior, for a great post. You are right, they will not stop. Let us hope the American people wise up and when they see she is being criticized for working her a** off, as she always does, maybe a few will call these boobs out onto the carpet for the treasonous, petty hacks they are.

Comment by Seattle Moss | 2008-11-23 14:52:30

Ani..I think that by the time Hillary tenure ends at SOS she will be revered on the same level as Margaret Thatcher.

Successful Foreign Policy makes for great leaders.

This is Hillary’s ticket to the top.If she is successful all the derangement will fade way.
Another prediction…With Hillary’s star power sexism and misogyny will also end.

Comment by Ani | 2008-11-23 15:09:05

SM,

I do think it is irritating, however, for a woman to constantly have to prove a negative, ie, how do you prove youy are “not” something? Prove you are not self serving.

Why?

If someone actually bothers to look at her record over the years, there is much to be proud of — why does she have to keep proving she not “just in it for herself” — it is ridiculous.

I wish I had as much faith in your prediction re Hillary and an end to misogyny. You have no idea how much I want you to be right, however, so much is ingrained in our society and our psyches as to be endemic. We have a whole generation of young people, many of whom think it does not even exist, while they, at the same time, practice it.

Comment by Seattle Moss | 2008-11-23 15:28:26

The proof will be in Leadership.
If America has a successful foreign policy with new ideas and a resolution of some of the big problems Obama will get credit as president.

Hillary will then be known as the Architect and the brains behind the success.
Hillary will be respected in ways we have never seen.

Especially right now…The world is on the edge!

I don’t and will not support Obama. Is that treason?!? Obama should be convicted of treason for palling around with Ayers and Co., building the RICO organization for voter fraud, a.k.a. ACORN, and usurping the White House while refusing to provide any background documentation about himself. He has erased his past, so clearly there was much to hide.

Comment by Seattle Moss | 2008-11-23 18:37:04

Hello Kathy..
Open dissent against Oblahma is patriotic as Ben Franklin says. However wishing for American defeat in order to destroy Obama is similar to what keith Overbite is guilty of doing.

Just hope for the best with Hillary at SOS and keep up your patriotic dissent.

Comment by KathyNeocon | 2008-11-23 18:41:00

Don’t you know, though, it’s not treason to trash Democratic presidents or administrations? It’s only treason when you question or disagree with Republicans. They didn’t hold back on trashing Madeline Albright, and they won’t hold back on trashing Hillary Clinton – in fact, they’re looking forward to trashing her. It’s what they do because it’s who they are. We’ve been told for 7 years that “you can’t disagree with the president in a time of war”. Funny, that rule was inoperable when Clinton got involved in Kosovo – even though no one died in that operation, as opposed to the 4,000 + dead in Iraq.

Comment by Seattle Moss | 2008-11-23 15:33:26

I don’t see the defeat crowd being prevented from voicing their opposition..
On the contrary the reverse is true

For years now we have seen traitors like Keith Overbite actively undermine the success of our troops and America’s position in the world.

I have said this before…When we are attacked Keith and Tweetie will be the first to say

Why didn’t anybody protect us..

You wish for defeat long …You get defeat!

personally I am just plain sad that Hillary would accept the sos position. reason? I don’t think either the dems or the repubs will be able to fix the economic catastrophe awaiting us over the new few years. now, since hrc part of oblowme’s administration, she will tank to the bottom of the ocean along with the fraud and his cronies. it’s truly too bad because hillary will never, ever be president due to her willingness to appease the corrupt dems that stole this election.

Comment by illegal alien csuzeq | 2008-11-23 22:24:29

Her career is done after SOS anyway. she knows it. No running for POTUS in 2012 with Odrama in there. She didn’t go against the party in 2008, she won’t do it in 2012. In 2016, she’ll be too old because we all know a man is still considered a great leader in their late 60s or early 70s, but a woman loses out at least 10 years before that.

Gross but well-said, RobWarrior.

I would only suggest, for the sake of context, that the reporter-and-pundit class of Washington has been dealing with the Clintons for 16 years. This attitude you describe arises from their experience and what they know about Bill and Hillary and how they operate.

I think you enjoy talking with folks that have core belief systems that are not afraid to speak up for what’s right.
This site will always be a Hillary site and most of us believe that Hillary would have been the best candidate had it not been for the MSM derangement.
Having said that some of us are willing to give Obama a chance to lead and will hold judgment. By picking Hillary, Obama has shown some realism as I’m sure he is aware that this selection will alienate the America haters on the extreme left.
So far conservative democrats like myself are cautiously optimistic.

Comment by Undercover Black Man | 2008-11-23 15:48:26

Cautious optimism is good, SM. Cautious pessimism too. It’s up to Obama to deliver the goods now. It will be plain enough to see if he screws it all up.

Comment by Diana | 2008-11-23 16:06:07

You just had to go there didn’t you! roflmao

I think Hillary will far outshine Obama and all the rest, she knows she’s under a microscope and the predators will just be waiting for her to screw up. She knows how to deal with it. I’ve been disappointed in some of the things she’s done for Obama after the way he’s treated her, not in doing some campaigning for him. I understood that. But, going above and beyond knowing what he pulled. His ties. I still think she would have been the best choice for president. I just hope and pray Obama doesn’t screw up and she’s the one left holding the bag, that’s my biggest fear.

Just to remind everyone, Hillary is not Bill. She is not responsible for the other’s crime. We need to get off that page and move on.

I think UBM is cautiously pessimistic about Obama and the future. It is one thing to win the battle..Another to win the war.
UBM realizes that Obama came to power at the very worst moment in 70 years.

Take heart UBM..Some of us ultra conservative democrats are cautiously optimistic and won’t turn on Obama as long as doesn’t enforce the fairiness doctrine and does lengthy investigations and prosecutions of the war on terror.
We can all work together to save this country as long as we get past the special prosecutors

and you bring up monica. that’s really lame. we ALL know about that. it has nothing to do with politics. Hillary kept her family together. So why include the way Hillary operates in that?

“I did not have sexual relations with that woman” or

“I’ve never worked in Washington,” he said. “I can unequivocally say I will not be running for national office in four years, and my entire focus is making sure that I’m the best possible senator on behalf of the people of Illinois.”

Obama: “I will serve out my full six-year term. You know, Tim, if you get asked enough, sooner or later you get weary and you start looking for new ways of saying things. But my thinking has not changed.”

Russert: “So you will not run for president or vice president in 2008?”

Obama: “I will not.”

“In case you missed it, this week, there was a tragedy in Kansas. Ten thousand people died — an entire town destroyed,” the Democratic presidential candidate said in a speech to 500 people packed into a sweltering Richmond art studio for a fundraiser.

The death toll was 12.

shall i go on? he’s a politician.

Or perhaps their attitude arises from fear, an inability to label, and powerlessness – they fear the brilliance of these two people, they have never been able to place a label on them that makes sense to the “reporter-and-pundit class of Washington”, and as a result feel powerless and must try to destroy that which causes them to feel that way.

Perhaps it comes from smallness and narrow-mindedness and pure meanness. Perhaps their motto is, “That which I do not understand I must destroy”.

Then what is their excuse for how they butchered Palin?

Sorry, I am not buying your friend’s explanation.

Comment by OBAMA IS A FRAUD | 2008-11-23 15:33:15

Ani,

When these comments were made, Palin wasn’t in the race yet. Sorry, but that’s what my friends said to me. Not everyone in the world is in love with the Clintons and the press clearly has some problems with them.

Comment by Ani | 2008-11-23 16:41:58

I understand, but that does not change my point. They constantly blamed Hillary for all things Bill and never gave her a chance to stand on her own — which she clearly does. She may have not been as open with the press in the past but they way they were constantly raked over the coals in the 90s, who can blame her.

She became a lot more open with the press this year and was certainly working for a rapproachement — she was very gracious in her comments about them and gave them a free pass early on with a lot of nasty stuff they said about her — but they were still not willing to give her a chance.

There was a great article (title escapes me) sometime back about what happens once someone assumes the presidency — the gloves always come off and the press reationship is never as good — once the honeymoon is over, the press starts nipping at their heels and presidents tend to become more insular and protective — as we have seen with many administrations. If that is their beef with the Clintons, they are no different than anyone else’s administration.

I still think it was crappy that they were not willing to at least ease up a LITTLE given how qualified and prepared she was and is. I wasn’t asking for the treatment they gave Obama. I know that’s never going to happen – -but a little fairness, however begrudging, would have been nice.

She couldn’t even get that much and there is no excuse for that. These are paid journalists. If they can’t find any objectivity, they should get out.

Comment by OBAMA IS A FRAUD | 2008-11-23 16:49:19

Ani,

“Objectivity?” WTF? That didn’t happen and probably never will. When I had the conversation I had with these journalists from NYC…you know Ani, they all hang out together, smoke cigarettes, drink coffee together at their local joint, etc. They see it differently. I had one of these guys in my office to represent him as a SCREENWRITER because I manage writers and director as well as produce. I had just started working on our caucus fraud film and ALL of this was new to me. All of it. I really didn’t know from Clintons so I was rather stunned at the negativity myself. I don’t recall this being a really negative conversation ABOUT the Clintons. It just felt like these guys do their job all day covering the White House and had just sort of tired of the Clinton stuff. What can I say? It’s their job. Now, cut to what happened much, much later…I don’t know. I’m still all WTF about it. You and I, and everyone here, know the truth. Do we think ANYONE will ever get it out there in the MSM? Maybe. Maybe when Fraudbama starts to f**k up they will turn on HIM too. They’re like rats eating each other. I have no faith in them anymore Ani. I don’t watch the news or read the paper. I get my news here and other places on the net. I am appalled and disgusted.

You know what? I had the same reaction when I heard that Hillary was going to run. I didn’t want a rehash of all that crap even as overblown as it was.

But GD-it, she was probably the best candidate for president I’ve ever seen including Bill, and I had no problem changing my mind immediately upon learning that.

So that’s a friggin’ lame excuse. It’s sexism, CDS, downright stupidity or a combination of all three. And they’re total a-holes for thinking we’d accept journalistic boredom as an excuse even if it was true.

And the MSM never cared a whit that the country’s business was being ignored while they helped all the divisive crap to continue.

Your point is understood UBM. However, my post clearly points out we are talking about her record independent of his. She has the last 8 years of an essentially independent career and the record is flawless.

The media can re-hash the White House years all they want and she was part of it, but it was his administration.

Hillary solo has had a brilliant career.

He does seem to be picking a good group for his cabinet and SOS Hillary Clinton will be interesting – she is a Patriot.

Comment by OBAMA IS A FRAUD | 2008-11-23 14:19:50

You don’t want the answer to that…Biden first and then Pelosi. If it’s Pelosi, I do think 1/2 the population will leave the country.

IF he isn’t sworn in yet, or it happens before the electors vote, then it would be McCain I think because the electors couldn’t vote for Farudbama-from-Kenya.

Comment by Elizabeth | 2008-11-23 14:45:08

Donofrio contends the constitution says POTUS must be a natural born citizen, meaning born on US soil to two US parents. If this is upheld, McCain falls under the same ruling.

Obama, even if it were proven he was born in Hawaii, because his father was born in Kenya, having been born with split and competing loyalties, is not a ‘natural born citizen’ as required by Article 2, Section 1, of the U.S. Constitution.”

. The allegation that Obama was born in Kenya to parents unable to automatically grant him American citizenship;
・ The allegation that Obama was made a citizen of Indonesia as a child and that he retained foreign citizenship into adulthood without recording an oath of allegiance to regain any theoretical American citizenship;
・ The allegation that Obama’s birth certificate was a forgery and that he may not be an eligible, natural-born citizen;
・ The allegation that Obama was not born an American citizen; lost an hypothetical American citizenship he had as a child; that Obama may not now be an American citizen and even if he is, may hold dual citizenships with other countries. If any, much less all, of these allegations are true, the suit claims, Obama cannot constitutionally serve as president.
・ The allegations that “Obama’s grandmother on his father’s side, half brother and half sister claim Obama was born in Kenya,” the suit states.” Reports reflect Obama’s mother went to Kenya during her pregnancy; however, she was prevented from boarding a flight from Kenya to Hawaii at her late stage of pregnancy, which apparently was a normal restriction to avoid births during flight. Stanley Ann Dunham (Obama) gave birth to Obama in Kenya, after which she flew to Hawaii and registered Obama’s birth.”
・ The claim could not be verified by inquiries to Hawaiian hospitals since state law bars the hospitals from releasing medical records to the public;
Even if Obama produced authenticated proof of his birth in Hawaii, however, the suit claims that the U.S. Nationality Act of 1940 provided that minors lose their American citizenship when their parents expatriate. Since Obama’s mother married an Indonesian citizen and moved to Indonesia, the suit claims, she forfeited both her and Barack’s American citizenship.

Comment by OBAMA IS A FRAUD | 2008-11-23 14:48:46

I think you are wrong about McCain because of the fact that he was born in an American Military Hospital. And Donofrio’s case seemed to be more complicated than that. Donofrio’s suit goes back to the writers of the Constitution and the fact that they were British Citizens at the time the Constitution was written and if Fraudbama was born in Kenya he too was born under British Rule.

Comment by Elizabeth | 2008-11-23 14:57:30

I’m really apologetic with this off-topic stuff. Anyone understand the 14th Amendment / At least An open thread might help ?

Donofrio states, “… had the U.S. legislature intended to grant ‘natural born citizen’ status to all who were born on U.S. soil, then the 14th Amendment would contain the words ‘natural born citizen,’ but it doesn’t … McCain was born in Panama. Panama is not considered U.S. soil, nor has it ever been considered as such.”

The Naturalization Act of 1790 stated, “… the children of citizens of the United States that may be born beyond Sea, or out of the limits of the United States, shall be considered as natural born Citizens …”

However, Donofrio points out the Naturalization Act of 1795 specifically repealed the 1790 act and replaced it with the same clause except with the words “natural born” deleted.

Donofrio also quotes a section from the U.S. Department of State’s Foreign Affairs Manual, which states, “Despite widespread popular belief, U.S. military installations abroad and U.S. diplomatic facilities are not part of the United States within the meaning of the 14th Amendment. A child born on the premises of such a facility is not subject to U.S. jurisdiction and does not acquire U.S. citizenship by reason of birth.”

Donofrio says McCain was neither born on U.S. soil, nor was he naturalized and is a citizen at birth by statute, which is also addressed in the Foreign Affairs Manual.

McCain is neither “natural born” nor naturalized, says Donofrio. Instead, he may claim citizenship from 8 USC 1402(a): “Any person born in the Canal Zone on or after Feb. 26, 1904, and whether before or after the effective date of this chapter, whose father or mother or both at the time of the birth of such person was or is a citizen of the United States, is declared to be a citizen of the United States.”

In other words, Donofrio states, “McCain is in the class of citizens who obtain their citizenship at birth, but not from the Constitution, but rather federal statute.”

The Foreign Affairs Manual also addresses the issue of eligibility for president as such: “It has never been determined definitively by a court whether a person who acquired U.S. citizenship by birth abroad to U.S. citizens is a natural born citizen within the meaning of Article II of the Constitution and, therefore, eligible for the Presidency.”

I know this is a long shot but part of me has this strange feeling that something is going to happen and Obama may not be sworn in this January. I don’t know if it’s an assassination or a constitutional crisis, but let’s just say I would not be surprised if something happened.

I really should stock up on food and water just in case something does happen to him, since there will be major riots here in LA if the crap hits the fan. This is one reason why I don’t like him as president, an assassination would tear the country apart. especially since he’s been hyped up so much.

If he’s not assassinated, he’ll keel over from a heart attack due to all his past cocaine abuse. He’ll die young, I think.

The seeds of my disenchantment with the hard left were planted in my college days… Reagan’s first term. I would’ve called myself a liberal… but the demonization of Ronald Reagan was beyond all good sense.

Comment by Seattle Moss | 2008-11-23 16:10:42

UBM,
I was upset at Carter and the malaise that existed at the end of the 70’s. I also was consumed by the hostage crisis and saw America as defeated.
Patriotism and pride for country was sorely needed. I became a young college republican and brought the Reagan revolution to my campus.I suffered as most people thought that I was extreme and too patriotic as America was still getting over Watergate and Vietnam,

Reagan did his part to bring America back and to stand tall and proud..
I voted for Clinton as he represented change and was the pragmatist we all needed in 92.

My fear now has been the repeat of Carter. That is why after Hillary I voted for McCain.

I relish for the moment that the America haters are being thrown under the bus.

Oh, and before anyone accuses me of being homophobic, baby-phobic, or bike-phobic, just stop it! I’m a PFLAG, love babies, and…okay, really have a hard time with folks who ride their bikes in the middle of the street. So sue me.

Hello Precious!

A quick look over at Alternet gave me this deranged comment

Let me first say I voted for Bill 2x’s and was an avid supporter & defender of Both throughout the ’90’s- I have since Recovered from that ‘Bad Acid trip’
Lest we forget this is the same woman who consistently Voted WITH the Bushies. The same woman who failed to provide oversight as to How our Armed services were used and the numbers of troops and amount of equipment required for any actions. The Surge was only the remedy for the fuck up of not sending enough troops to begin with (aka Powell Doctrine). The same woman who NEVER bothered to check on the after care provided to our wounded troops. The same woman who faned concern ONCE by asking for an Exit Plan then immediately dropped it? The woman who laid out every BS Political attack for the Repugs in the General? The same woman who endorsed the Repug candidate over a Dem. The one who’s only claim to fame is who she is married too (she only had 2 years in the senate Over Sen Obama- and she fucked up on every vote!)The Woman who paraphrased Mac’s ‘bomb bomb bomb Iran’ with “Obliterate Iran”. Who attempted to separate the women movement from the equal rights movement. The woman who blatantly LIED about a Sniper attack just to make a false claim about foreign affairs experience. The major supporter of the NAFTA agreement which gutted our economy?
I couldn’t tell the difference between Hillary and the ‘retooled’ McCain- One in the Same!
Hillary NEVER gave up her Neo Con membership, she is just a covert opertive disguised in Blue!
My sincerest apologies to all I fought with throughout the ’90’s- YOU were Right on every point-she is a immoral, status seeking, self promoting opportuntist ..no different than Joe LIEberman. If anyone Owes the Democrats an apology it is Hillary & Bill for infesting and undermining the Dems (and the american People) With Corp Whores through their lil’ Group called the DLC. Dead give away to Her real allegience came when she attempted to call ANY Dem a ‘Reagan Democrat’…REAL Dems FEARED & HATED REAGAN (union busting, War monger).Fuck the Clintons they have aided this Cheney agenda for far to long….Just because you claim you are a Dem does not mean you actually are one.Obviously Bill has been playing the Son HW Never had .
This Lying sarcasitic two faced Bitch will only perpetuate more conflicts to help these War profiteers.
I’m Infuriated by the possiblity that this Neo Con could be offered any top position. If they Must, give her Health & Human services NOT Sec Of State!
Has anyone else noticed all these ‘leaks’ of potential appointments are on Clintonites- Come on Now WHO do you think is leaking this BS…The Clintons! They attemptedd to derail his candidacy once their people began to infiltrate his campaign…Where did all those Big Corp Donors come from after the primaries- the Clintons. This Bitch is still eyeing ‘12! Hell she made 3 Request to get Sen Obama Assasinated…3!!!…A Charm? HaHa we will have a continuance of the same foreign policy to protect American interests in the world and protect against terrorism
Below is a deranged Obot and his comments about Hillary and Sarah.

“Hillary was not a change from Bush leadership–her voting record proves she voted right along with Bush on almost every issue.
THAT is why she lost.
The country wanted a change in direction & she was not it, no matter how she tried to spin doctor herself.
No other reason.
It had nothing to do with her being a woman.
The country voted for a black man–with the message they desperately wanted to hear.
The Republicans were pulling for her–Karl Rove wrote numerous columns praising Hillary & bashing Obama–he knew if she became president, she would continue war & all the other things dear to Republican hearts if a Repub could not get elected.

As far as Palin goes–she would be hilarious even if she had been a man.
If a man had been nice looking & ignorant, with weird religious beliefs, & still naive enough to think he deserves to interact on the world stage because he’s folksy & flirts a lot–he would have been the butt of many a joke also.
You betcha.
She’s the one that marketed herself to Repubs to be the VP pick & McCain chose her in a short-sighted, to say the least, effort to create some pizzaz for his boring campaign.

I guess Palin failed to bone up on the world before becoming the VP pick, like a normal person who understands they know nothing would have done–while she was still in the marketing phase of her push for VP–because she actually thought no one would notice her lack of knowledge due to her personality & looks–along with her nutty end-of-days religious beliefs that made her think “God” was “opening the door” for her. Her religious brainwashing has obviously been successful.
Palin is actually a victim of her religious brianwashed upbringing.

She has the ego & confidence of a man, but was brought up NOT TO THINK–a fact that she doesn’t yet realize.

Hillary came in as an outright carpetbagger in New York making it clear that the Senate seat was a stepping stone to a run for the presidency. Then, with a second run refused to promise to serve the full term of the position to which she was running for re-election.

If I apply for a job and tell a potential employer that I cannot promise to serve the full term of the contract I am seeking to sign, that goes with the position I seek, how will that play? Or, perhaps I take a job and sign a contract, and then, in the middle of the term of the contract that I am legally bound to keep, I seek another position, but, also ask my employer to hold my present position in case I do not get the new one I seek; how will my employer regard my level of commitment to the position I presently hold and/or my ability to keep promises and commitments in general?

This grotesque sense of entitlement and some position being someone’s “turn” in political office is a major part of the many problems we face and why Congress and politicians in general, along with management, have such low approval ratings.

Comment by Hillary or Bust | 2008-11-23 15:08:38

What is with that B

Why do women attack women?

I’m very disappointed since I opened my heart and wallet to help women this year. I feel like some of you didn’t watch my back.

Comment by OBAMA IS A FRAUD | 2008-11-23 15:58:45

It’s something about women that will always hold us back. If you ask me, it’s plain old jealousy. There’s no other reason for us to see the things we have seen this year. Women bitchbite each other and then expect men to take us seriously. That’s not going to happen. Not until women like Gloria Steinem are put out to pasture and the new feminists come along who love and support each other, regardless of the abortion issue, which is old and tired. Sorry, it is. I have never been more ashamed to be a woman in my life. Hearing these nuts rant on about Palin like rabid dogs who needed to be put down. I cringed every time. It was beyond insanity and really scared me for our gender and any success we will have in the future. It’s okay not to love Hillary or Palin. Personally I prefer Palin on the basis of their stance on issues. The rest of it looks like a bunch of mentally ill, deranged moonbats who are just plain riddled with jealousy.

Well your precious BO sees it otherwise does he not? After all, the One needs a “heavy” to take the heat as it occurs, so that the Precious may remain ‘clean’ at all times.

And who better to take this heat than one so vilified in the Press, and of course by BO himself, in his nasty, low-down campaign of lies against Hillary Clinton?

Remember you heard it here: Obama is weak and has zero integrity – he will need people tough enough in compensation. You should be thankful Hillary will be there to take the blame for your false messiah – Lord help us all when the facade cracks.

And he is clearly ignorant of Obama’s 20 pro war votes, for funding, war-profiteers, and nominations for those who lied to get us into war, while bitching about her votes.

“A PRO-WAR RECORD

Then there’s the matter of his actual policy and political record. If Obama is such (as many “progressives” seem to need to believe) an “antiwar” candidate, why has he offered so much substantive policy support to the criminal occupation and the broader imperial “war on [and of] terror” of which Bush says O.I.F. is a part? Here are some highlights from a summary of Obama’s U.S. Senate voting record recently sent to me by the Creative Youth News Team (CYNT 2007), a progressive African American advocacy organization:

“1/26/05: Obama voted to confirm Condoleezza Rice for Secretary of State. Rice was largely responsible…for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent victims in unnecessary wars…Roll call 2″

“2/01/05: Obama was part of a unanimous consent agreement not to filibuster the nomination of lawless torturer Alberto Gonzales as chief law enforcement officer of the United States (U.S. Attorney General).”

“2/15/05: Obama voted to confirm Michael Chertoff, a proponent of water-board torture…[and a] man behind the round-up of thousands of people of Middle-Eastern descent following 9/11. By Roll call 10.”

“4/21/05: Obama voted to make John ‘Death Squad’ Negroponte the National Intelligence Director. In Central America, John Negroponte was connected to death squads that murdered nuns and children in sizable quantities. He is suspected of instigating death squads while in Iraq, resulting in the current insurgency. Instead of calling for Negroponte’s prosecution, Obama rewarded him by making him National Intelligence Director. Roll call 107″

A really big clue as to why that person does not know WTF he’s talking about is this:

Hillary has served ONE FULL SENATE TERM and is in the 2nd year of her 2nd one. That means 8 years. 0bama who stopped working to run for president at the completion of his 2nd year, has been a candidate for almost 2 years. The commenter fails to realize that 0bama didn’t take office until January 2005.

Until the public holds the media accountable for abusing their power and not vetting BO, Senator Clinton and everyone else will be the punching bag for the blunders in a BO administration. This has never been a level playing field as far as the candidates. Anyone that dares to attack Cupcake is smeared or investigated. Look at Joe the Plumber, Governor Palin, super delegates that backed Clinton, and so on.

The media are cultists. It is Barack’s job to win our trust and not the other way around. However, for American citizens outside the cult mobile, it will be difficult for him to do. It is hard to forget outright caucus fraud, Acorn fraud, illegal donations, and associations with radical friends to give BO the benefit of the doubt.

No more Hillary for me. After putting my heart and soul into her campaign, and accepting all the things she had to say about Obama, it is more than I can stomach to accept what she is doing now. Aiding and abetting the one who trashed her. We are known by our associates and I guess her prior devotion to the teachings of Saul Alinsky go deeper than we realized.

I don’t wish her any ill will, I have just crossed her off my list and would never vote for her again under any circumstances. I am no longer a Democrat, thanks to the current DNC and their “New Democratic Party”. Neither am I a Republican. At this juncture I am a registered Independent after more than 30 yrs as a Democrat.

As I said, I wish Hillary Clinton no ill will. She is a smart lady and will do what is in her best interest, as usual. As for the job she will do as Secy of State, I think she will be magnificent.

lee M,
I am also an Independent, and I don’t fault you for feeling as you do about Hillary’s choices, but I have to say, in rebuttal, that she is a true patriot. She is a true servant of the country, and she has a lot more to offer than most. She is one voice in 100 at the Senate. Her talent is wasted there, and she can serve much more effectively from the Executive branch.

Sure, Obama’s people treated her like crap, because she was so much more qualified than him. She has a right to be sore, but she’s not a sorehead. She would be a fool to throw away her political future, given she doesn’t have that many years left to rebuild. She would be nearly as old as John McCain by the time Obobo serves two terms. The only likely opportunity for her to work in the Executive branch is in this administration. And if she can’t be the top dog, what’s she supposed to do? Take her ball and run home? No, she’s doing the right thing, in my book. She’s stepping up to the plate and showing everyone, especially her critics, that she is a team player with a lot to offer, and is not a prima donna like they are prone to say of her.

I do not see her serving her country in this Democratic administration as a negative thing, not for her, not for us. She has my respect and support, as always.

One more comment about the press -

The power of the media is real. I talked to many intelligent friends before and after the election, and the false narrative about Governor Palin took hold. All these people refused to vote for McCain because they felt Palin was unqualified. When I brought up BO’s caucus fraud, present votes, his website accepting illegal donations, etc. they were all surprised. Why haven’t we heard this?

The key to finding an honest administration is having the fourth estate hold BO accountable. In this atmosphere it is virtually impossible. Where is the next Woodward and Berstein in 2009 and 2010?

What virus infected these people’s brains that they think Obama is perfect?

You’d think anyone with half a brain would stop to think that, hmm, it’s kind of suspicious that an unknown black guy without any experience suddenly vaulted to the highest post in the land…SOMEONE behind the scenes was helping Obama…powerful people were behind him…it’s obvious…HELLO, WAKE UP PEOPLE!

But I live and work in a business that isn’t all dummies. And from top to bottom their ignorance just spewed out this past year. It’s very hard for me to have respect for them. Yup frustrating. And I don’t speak to a lot of people over it. Maybe I will some day. But, for now, I hold them responsible for Fraudbama and his bogus “win.”

Last week I interviewed a 23 year old darling girl to dogsit for me because I am going to Vegas tomorrow morning. Thank God. She sat in my living room, poor thing, and listened to an hour of me preaching about the Fraud. She had NEVER heard of Bill Ayers. Had NO idea who he was, never mind everything else we all talk about here. She knew NOTHING other than he was a groovy, liberal black guy who “is a great speaker.” I felt bad telling her all this crap, but she literally said had she known it she wouldn’t have voted for him. Her boyfriend voted McCain. That must be a fun household. Nevertheless, I still consider it my job to edumacate these people. Some of them meant well, but just didn’t have the truth because of the media.

Before you get excited and think that the Press might “reform themselves” and “get with the program” and start reporting news in an impartial manner, consider that nearly all of the media, many civilian “lifers” in government, and university professors and administrators, publishers, writers, entertainers, etc. have been BRAINWASHED.

Sorry. Too. Late.

Remember the title of JFK’s Harvard thesis “Why England Slept”? (referencing Winston Churchill’s 1938 “While England Slept”).

We need a book entitled “While America Slept” — to describe our not noticing that the left has taken over key cultural and governnmental entities in the US — without mainstream America noticing.

Watch this video, in which a KGB defector describes how this brainwashing of the western media and key members of the western intelligentsia, captains of industry, and others was accomplished. The vid is about 1/2 hr. long but well worth watching. It gets really really good 10 minutes into the video. You won’t like the conclusions at the end. But you will know…..

SCARY.

I meditate regularly but I have been very active in this election. I am hardly complacent or spaced out.

That said, I know a lot of new age people who got suckered in by Obama. I don’t think meditation is what does it – it’s the need to worship a guru that does it.

“Two Richardson advisers said privately that Richardson had been hoping State would be his prize after facing political heat for picking Obama over Clinton, but the governor is willing to accept another post in hopes that he will move up in the Cabinet later in the administration.”

Well, Billie boy, that may have just ended your prospects all together. Obama insists on LOYALTY. And you just whined and complained in public that you expected payment for selling out the Clintons, even after breaking your promise to them.

And what arrogance, you’ll settle for this position, with expectations of moving up later. OH. With this sentiment shared by YOUR Advisers, you showed why you not only don’t deserve S O S, deserve, funny word, the Position IS WAY OVER YOUR SKILL SET, but you show a dangerous trait that shows why you shouldn’t be in any Cabinet position.

Watching the Left’s reaction to Obama pick his Cabinet is like watching “ANIMAL HOUSE”

Especially that one great line that captured it all,

“Face it, you F—ed up, you trusted us!”

It’s real simple:

Repubs run RIGHT and Govern Center.

Dems run LEFT and Govern Center.

THAT’S THE “CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN!”

Comment by Ivory Bill Woodpecker | 2008-11-23 15:17:10

Reagan and Bush Senior ran right but governed center [Bush Sr. governed in a more centrist fashion than Reagan].

Bush Junior ran right and then actually tried to govern right.

That’s why Reagan is considered a success, and Bush Sr. is considered a success in foreign policy [the bad economy and Perot sank him in 1992], while Bush Jr. will go down as a failure.

BTW–no one will govern left here, because what’s considered “left” in the USA would be considered “center” in most other Western democracies.

bravo, but I don’t have the stamina to go through that prattle again. Much of the comment’s proof are cut-n-paste, if you follow, qualifies or outright contradicts the point being argued. You see much the same in right winga blogs.

Thanks RobWarrior!
Maybe I was not paying close attention in the past, but I can’t remember anything that can equal the treatment the Clintons get.
I do remember the insults against the Carters, but nothing can match the open dismissal of the worth of these two people.
Nixon got off relatively easy, and Reagan got a complete pass.
There does not appear to be a remedy, as you stated.

Show us how much you hate Hillary Obama and your country…. I can’t remember anything that can equal the treatment the Clintons get….
You must be KIDDING me!

Yeah. Like anyone showed how much they loved their country when it came to Bush? Come on.

Comment by detractor | 2008-11-23 15:23:18

Oh please. The media maintained a defensive crouch or posture of complete deference/outright fawning for at least 6 years of the Bush presidency. Do you not recall seeing the footage of Bush at the Correspondent’s Dinner performing his “skit” where he looks for the non-existent WMDs under Oval Office furniture, while the media chortles along? Yeah, telling lies that get thousands of people killed and bankrupt the nation – that’s a real knee-slapper!

The few times criticism of Bush managed to get through the Bush-worship media blockade were examples of people who loved their country and as a consequence, could not bear to see what Bush was doing to it with illegal wars, torture, spying on citizens, tearing up the Constitution. For future reference, you should keep in mind that “love of country” does not = “agreeing with and supporting the president, whether he’s right or wrong.”

I got that years ago. As an American and veteran I reserve my right to criticize any politician I so desire, starting with the current and future WH occupiers. Both are incompetent, arrogant boobs who couldn’t make it out here in the real world withou a cadre of supporters.

Had they held That One to even 1/10th of the criteria they held HRC to, McCain (or HRC) would be president. It seemed that HRC was too smart or not smart enough; too shrill or not outspoken enough; too prone to emotion or not emotional enough. Try using some of that sort of criticism on That One and hear the cries of racism. We’d get an entire lecture series on race in America and be bored witless, crying uncle by the end of it.

Ferd, you are like a safe crevice in a coral reef surround by sharks to me. When I see your comments, I know you understand exactly where I am coming from. As true centrists, us square pegs are constantly trying to be jammed into round holes by the bi-polar one extreme or another nature of human beings. Larry and nasuS I think are like us which is why we landed here and contribute.

There are a few of us left. I count you and all the other regulars here on NQ as kindred spirits, each with their own view on the insanity which is overtaking us now and hw we can combat it. I look forward every day after work to check in and see what is up with the world from the viewpoint of NQ. This has been a haven of sanity for me. Katmoon and I now regularly contribute donations to the site because we want this web presence to last. I have to tell you that the writing is excellent and the posts are witty and far and away the best on the internet. Thanks for being a part of this little experiment in real Democracy (capital D). It’s no wonder the bots come here–they want a small piece of a great web site.

I have a suggestion. Since certain members of the MSM and blogesphere took it upon themselves to go after anyone (Clintons, Palin, Joe the Plumber sheesh!) they deemed a threat to their precious maybe we should all make a concerted effort to expose their lives as well.

I’ve no doubt there’s some fascinating, embarassing and potentially scandalous facts about Matthews, Olbermann, Huffington, Campbell Brown, Kos, etc which they would rather not let the public know about.

They too are in the public eye and should be held to a certain standard. If they have used the airwaves to attempt to destroy those they envy, resent, disagree with then why should’nt the internet highway serve as a means to inform the public who these talking heads are?

Why not start a blog where we can expose their private lives and business dealings? I’m sure there are many who work with these clowns or otherwise are familiar with unsavory aspects of their lives who would love to spill the beans on them.

What say you my fellow NQ’s???

catherine, I like your comments. Your own blog is a whole different animal than posting comments on someone else’s blog. Yes, its time, but its also emotional energy, especially if you allow folks to comment on your blog and much more so if the comments are open, not just to people you invite. This explains partly why I don’t have a blog.

I was called names such as treasonous and traitorous when I opposed King George W’s Iraq war. These terms are inflammatory and in my opinion should not be used when people have disagreements or share opinions. Probably not a good idea to use one comment to parody this either. That does not help.

People who have strong feelings have the right to share their views, even ones we consider unsavory, without being branded as treasonous. Dissent should be encouraged as many times dissenters end up being correct in their views. Words like treason are extreme and have the impact of thwarting dissent. Is that what we want?

Comment by Lee Ruth | 2008-11-23 21:38:53

Calling Bush Hitler was over the line and very insulting to Jews. I saw the signs in all the parades. It was sick. I think one can disagree with a President or a SoS without this level of derangement.

All these people want to be rewarded for supporting Obama so strongly in the campaign and are a little worried that he seems to be working with someone they abused.

Will she be able to get even-its what they most worry about.

Sad people really.

Its almost worth it to see her take the job-but it will be sad to see Obama destroy her once she does.

Comment by Mo | 2008-11-23 17:31:18

Obama really can’t afford, and never will be able to afford, the rent in Clinton’s head.

Do you kind see the bigger picture?

The former president himself has joked about the fact that he usually makes up a large part of his speeches as he goes along.
———

Sigh.

Remember when Presidents could think for themselves, speaking without the aid of a teleprompter?

He’s supposed to be intellectually brilliant, enough to run the world’s superpower, yet he’s also to subjugate his intellect to a bunch of half wit, lo0ny to0n, PR type people, those with limited intellectual scope?

Other than Obama and Bush, what exactly is it they think a president does?

And they don’t know.

I read a lot of the posts here, and I love it that NQ calls out the misogyny in the mainstream media so often. However, I’d like to see some organized responses. What about a ‘fight the misogyny’ day where we storm MSM blogs en masse, send emails en masse, and make phone calls en masse, to destroy misogyny when it happens? It’s one thing to comment here and post, but I think it’s stronger to send messages to the perpetrators, call them out on it, and shut it down when it happens.

Comment by EWard | 2008-11-23 18:09:41

Catherine’s idea of scrutinizing and investigating the MSM is excellent. Both BO and journalists should be held accountable.

Source: Open Secrets

BO spent around $181 million dollars on all media outlets including his hateful bloggers and blogging sites.

OK, I’m venturing past the CDS. A lot of Republicans have it, some pundits certainly have it, hard core barky fans used it and embraced it and misogynists have their version of it.

What I saw from the MSM was something more. As Bill Maher so indelicately puts it, Republicans seem to be “gay” for Reagan. Well the fan boys and girls that comprise the face of the MSM seem to be “gay” for Obama. Only this time it’s not as figurative.

How so called professionals can indulge in that level of fanaticism is frankly an embarrassment. Yeah, the Brits were similarly smitten with Princess Di but she wasn’t ever going to run the country.

Is it a symptom of this country crashing down around our ears or is it one of the reasons?

Comment by JEva | 2008-11-23 21:47:35

My favorite is how the CDSers spout out the “evil” things Clinton did to Obama during the primaries to prove Hillary is unworthy to be in his administration, in politics or part of the human race. (Oops I mentioned race and Obama in the same sentence. Well we know what that makes me.) When I provide the CDSers a long litany of transgressions committed by the Obama campaign against Hillary, their response “Get over it. Obama won and Hillary lost.” I find it astounding that CDSers state their position against Hillary based on the primaries then cancel their own argument to defend Obama by discounting the primaries entirely. Logic is not their forte.

it’s more simple than that

First – the Woman haters are the most obviously afraid of her.

Second – the far left will trash anyone who doesn’t walk the party line on pro choice – just as almost ALL of the right will trash anyone (under their breath mostly) who supports a woman’s right to choose.

Third – She’s like a STAIN in their eye with her continued success in Alaska. Being cleared of all 14 ethics charges the loonies brought against her will no doubt make a few of them POP a neuron in their heads or something!

“NOoooooooooo she can’t possibly be so GOOD! Nooooooo! We must DESTROY her!” (quoting Schuster/Olberdouche/Cafferty and the likes of those OBOTS)

The better you are, the more they want to prove otherwise. TRUST NO ONE Sarah! Not your Neocon buddies, not your new Dem buddies, listen to the PEOPLE here and other places. We’ll not lie to you. And most of us really like you.
