Overnight Open Thread * And, From Our Obligate Carnivores …

.”.. to your obligate carnivores, a hearty MEOWWWWWWWW. And bring on that damn turkey!

nasuS was naughty in the middle ad column, down at the bottom. That silly woman. She can never resist the urge to mock amabO.

And here, at Memeorandum.com, we go from the soaring patriotic words of our great friends at Flopping Aces to the, um, duller knives in the drawer that’ll never work, even on a turkey like Michael Reagan:

The links are below, as is a question I’m pondering about the BO administration’s economic team:

Retreat?!- hell! We just got here!

Michael Reagan Now Finds Obama’s Campaign “Reaganesque” (We like BuckNakedPolitics, but don’t hear from them much these days, since they went for Obama, and we were no longer cool, I guess.)

*****

My question: Obama keeps announcing all these famed economists and highly experienced, brilliant experts for his assemblage of his economics team.

Pretty soon, he’s going to have enough of them to fill a high school gymnasium!

But WHO IS GOING TO BE IN CHARGE?

And WHO WILL BE THE TOP DAWG EXPERT to whom all will bow?

Who will be jockeying with whom? Who will be the “cool” kids in the gym? Who will be uncool and relegated to the seats in the rafters?

Sen. Obama clearly is not an economics expert, so to whom will he turn for the ultimate “here’s what we’re going to do” decision?

Just asking.

Same would be for terrorism and International Relations.

Which reiterates what some of us have been saying all along. Obama does not have enough experience to be his own leader. Will he still try to vote “present”. That is what he is doing saying we only have one president.

George Bush said in his first primary ” I may only have a C average, but I will have experts to tell me the right answer”.

To which Bill Clinton publicly responded ” True, but what do you do when your experts disagree”.

So – when Osama attacked, George read a book to the kids and went with the Neocons supposidly for Democracy in the Middle East, realy oil. Now in the economic crunch it is Bernanke and Paulson. In either case George has ideology but does not have a clue in real terms.

Now we have Obama being confronted with economic and international terrorism. We shall see how he does. Like a lawyer he probably could handle one subject and mitigate to a judge. However he now is the judge and it should be interesting

A President should know about economics, foreign relations and leadership among other things. Obama has NONE. Of course every President needs people around them for help. But if you have no experience of your own, how in the world will you know who would be the best one to help in certain areas??

We have already learned that Obama is incapable of leading (facilitating) a meeting — getting people with diverse opinions and experience to behave using basic rules of a group discussion. It takes a very special skill to listen to both sides and come up with a workable plan.

I expect that 0-zero will use his “experts” the same way the GWB uses his — follow the advise of the LAST person who talks to him. I can see it now — battles being fought by advisers to be the last person to speak with the resident idiot in charge.

How many advisers does he need? It seems like there could be too many advisers — like 300 for foreign relations/policy??? No wonder when Russia invaded Georgia — Obama was so clueless.

Obama is not a republican and neither is Bush.

Those 2.5 million jobs Obama will create, are in his administration.

My question is, what can one do to actually be heard by the “politicians” on both sides of the aisle ? They are screwing up. As an everyday citizen I feel totally helpless, as I watch things go from bad to worse almost daily. The conservative sites are just as pessimistic.

Going back in time, God told the Children of Israel, (when they demanded a man for a ruler instead of Him), they would regret that decision from that point on. We may not be Israel? but just look at the messiah we just elected to rule over US.

I agree with you 100%. I did not drink the kool-aid for Obama. I am ashamed AMERICA did this. We are the laughing stock of the world. We, will pay for this, even the half of America who did not vote for this empty suit. He doesn’t have a clue about governing the USA. All he can do is give a preachy speech. I get sick everytime I turn the TV on and I immediately turn the channel.

When asked the other day on NBC if “appointing all those old past economic adviseres was contrary to your campaign of change”, Obama responded “not at all, because change begins with me”. ??????????????

Comment by wodiej | 2008-11-27 08:58:11

good grief, that reminds me of the youtube posted of Obama on Mt Rushmore and they asked him to say something profound and he said “We, are the ones we’ve been waiting for”….

Happy Thanksgiving, Larry, Susan and all the No Quarter writers, and blessings to you and yours.

I give thanks for your being here, becoming a PUMA, reading all the great posts and comments, as well as enjoying the support of fine folks like you.

Wish me well in surviving Thanksgiving Dinner at my sister’s, where most family members are Obama supporters. Should I make a tin-foil hat in the shape of the Mayflower to wear while they talk politics, the election and The One?

Stay tuned…

Comment by wodiej | 2008-11-27 08:55:57

oh my…..well, I think when people differ on something like this they should agree to not discuss it. Though my family is Republican, I generally vote Democrat. In the past, oh my goodness, the hateful things that have been said to me because I didn’t agree with them. Politics over the respect of a loved one? No.

“Second, if Obama dares to take the Presidential “Oath or Affirmation” of office, knowing that he is not “a natural born Citizen,” he will commit the crime of perjury or false swearing (see Article II, Section 1, Clause 7). For, being ineligible for “the Office of President, he cannot “faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States,” or even execute it at all, to any degree. Thus, his very act of taking the “Oath or Affirmation” will be a violation thereof! So, even if the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court himself looks the other way and administers the “Oath or Affirmation,” Obama will derive no authority whatsoever from it.”
