Spinning Heads

(Talk about a hot story and ‘toon! * Bumped up by Lena nasuS)

I never even imagined that I could have the last laugh in this election. I was resigned to feeling like a beat-up old hound dog after the assaults so many of us took from some Obama supporters.

Oh, I am not laughing at those who preferred Obama but also thought well of Hillary Clinton. I didn’t understand it, but their choice.

And I am not snickering at those who supported Hillary, but after she lost they crossed on over to support the party’s candidate. I’m OK with that.

What I am laughing at, almost hysterically while slapping my knees, are those who hated the Clintons with a passion, who yelled and screamed about how Obama would save us from those “old Washington insiders,” and everything would be new. Change they could believe in.

I can see them now—spinning about in a frenetic fury, flopping like freshly caught tunas on a dock. Obama was fooling them all along. Lying, really. My, my, is he actually…gasp..a Closet Clintonista?

So, Hillary isn’t going to be our President, but it looks like the executive branch will be lined with the Clinton people, including Hillary herself. You know, those good old days weren’t so bad with the Clintons in charge, in fact they were pretty darn good years. Back to the future!

If Hillary was totally in charge, that would have been great. Lets hope she can keep BHO in check. If he goes ahead with all his visions, plans blah blah, we’re officially screwed.

Yes, isnt it ironic that BHO supporters are spinning, spinning, spinning. BHO has spun them all around. Very soon, there is gonna be backlash. That is if the supporters of the ‘One’ come to the realisation that they’ve been had.

It simply proves that BO knows absolutely nothing about governing, plain and simple.

BO is really the naked emperor. without the clinton retreads, where’s BO’s administration going to be?

BO is the ultimate con artist…he managed to con his own supporters.

One teeny, weeny paragraph, in closing, why a few were a tad upset! LOL!

Comment by SJ | 2008-11-30 09:57:39

Yep it sure is kind of funny when you think of it, as for all those that were against Obama but turned around and supported him because of Hillary, well they were looking for a high position for her, keeping their fingers crossed that Obama gives her something in return for her loyalty, I just hope they are happy with what they got.

Maybe having Hillary as SOS will make America better, put food on the table, fix health care and SS, find jobs and just make everything right again. Maybe the terrorist will stop looking to attack us now, and American will be safe to travel all over the world, although it looks like some one did not send the terrorist the memo that Obama is President and Hillary may become SOS.

Comment by imustprotest | 2008-11-30 12:25:43

I think the appointment insures that Hillary WILL be the one answering the call at 3:00 am. (thank God)

Comment by IndieDogg | 2008-11-30 15:46:49

Sorry, but wishful thinking aside, that phone is not in the SOS’ residence; it’s in the White House.

Comment by RebelCarol | 2008-11-30 17:00:16

What everyone needs to remember is: She will serve at the President’s pleasure, not the President will serve at her pleasure.

There is a reason why he is nominating her for SOS and that is to keep her under his control and to do his bidding. The Clinton reign is over and it will not rise up again. The Clintons are going to be muzzled. I feel Hillary has made the biggest mistake of her career by accepting the nomination for SOS.

What happens to Hillary’s career if she is not confirmed by the Senate to be SOS. She will have had to resign as Senator prior to her confirmation hearing, so if she isn’t confirmed what happens to her? She is no longer a Senator at that point.

Comment by Chicago | 2008-11-30 20:58:33

further more, whatever success is achieved in foreign relations, BO will be reaping the accolades and no one else.

Comment by LindaA1 | 2008-12-01 12:39:39

And in the meantime, Obama has separated Hillary from her political base of supporters by removing her from her independent senate position. Hillary will become dependent on Obama now unless she revolts against the orders he gives her to follow as SoS. He’s her boss. That alone must make Barack Obama very happy – being the misogynistic jerk he is. And it makes me sick being the REAL feminist that I am.

Comment by baby-puppy | 2008-11-30 23:14:55

Glad you pointed that out Rebel; that Hillary may or may not get confirmed by her “friends” in the Senate. Even if she does, how do people think she’s going to be able to shape policy is a mystery to me. SoS is to take BO’s words and ideas, not hers, to the world.

What a waste of a brilliant mind.

Besides, Obama cannot be trusted Hillary! You are really limiting yourself.

Comment by noproblama | 2008-11-30 23:27:24

BO has no ideas, that’s why he needs Hillary.

Comment by SJ | 2008-11-30 23:40:36

Well Obama is looking to restore the UN Ambassador post to a cabinet position, for this UN post he has Susan Rice lined up for this, giving her a cabinet position is going to weaken the role of the SOS.

I hope all who was thinking how kind Obama was to Hillary is now going to see the game at play he is giving in one hand and taking with the other.

Obama has even resurrected Samantha Power and she sure as hell did not have kind words for Hillary, I still cant understand what Hillary is thinking in all this, and I really feel this is going to be the nail in her political coffin, I felt so during the election and to this day I still feel the same way, Obama is going to finish her off for good.

Comment by noproblama | 2008-12-01 02:43:16

That sucks if that’s the case. But I trust you’re using “Obama” to signify whomever is pulling his strings right now.

And judging by the infighting going on with the Dems already, it’s going to be interesting to see how the power struggle plays out.

Hillary has a lot of fans, I don’t know if anyone can “finish her off.” Even being out of government for a while, if that ever happens, shouldn’t hurt her. Look at Gore.

Comment by StillloveHill | 2008-12-01 08:39:17

Very good cartoon and description, Pat.

So where could Obama get qualified, experienced Democrats to fill the top positions if not from the Clinton team? As I think it was Bob Beckel that said “..if not from the Clinton years, he’d have to go to a nursing home”, meaning from the Carter years to find qualified Democrats to run the country.

I’m laughing at Change We Can Believe In. If you bought that, I’ve got a bridge to sell you. The Change is from W’s incompetence, to Obama’s Hope.
I’m hoping too. We need to support the administration and to push for our ideals. Hold Obama’s feet to the fire.

I just hope Obama will get us out of Iraq, but to go to Afganistan is just extending the death and destruction. What did the Afgani’s do? It is such a poor country (except for the Heroin money, and where’s our eradication program there?), and they live in fear but they are warriors. No army has defeated them, ever. Who is there to defeat? Don’t we all ready control the country with our puppet?

Stop the killing.

So many of Obama’s young supporters now will understand the game of politics. You can make great promises, but to deliver is very hard. Even if we had 60 votes in the Senate (doesn’t look like that will happen), comprimise is a necessity. Heads will Spin Over And Over in the years to come.

Biden, BO’s VP, voted to authorize the war and is against abortion. Daschel is an avowed “pro-lifer”, and his wife is an entrenched lobbiest.

Obama wants to extend the war to Pakistan and Afghanistan, defends Black Water, and will most likely implement the drafting of both sexes to continue on the path of perpetual war.

Also, he steals primaries and elections by gaming the system, by illegal campaign funds, and by intimidation.

I guess all of the above are the characteristics of the NEO-DEMs.

Comment by Hank | 2008-11-30 12:42:27

Thank you for engaging in the discussion on policy terms. As for FISA, I couldn’t disagree more with Obama’s position, and I hope that the legislation is revisited after he takes office. But as for McCain, he supported the exact same legislation.

http://corner.nationalreview.com/post/?q=MGUxZDA1YWJkMjQyZGNjYTI1OWExY2JmNzhmODczY2E=

McCain just didn’t bother to vote on it.

Obama is flatly opposed to torture. The pushing back on John Brennan at CIA, once the revelations appeared about his prior positions on torture, is a testament to that.

Obama has been critical of NAFTA throughout both campaigns. McCain has been singing its praises, and wants more international trade agreements like NAFTA.

It’s not about staying in Iraq until the ground commanders say its OK–it’s about staying in Iraq until the Iraqi government wants us to leave. That agreement is already taking shape, and forces will be out within the next couple of years.

No one in the Obama camp wants to “bomb Pakistan”. All Obama has talked about is if there is actionable intelligence that bin Laden, or other high-level Al Qaeda targets in our sights, and Pakistan will not take them out, we will. I don’t at all see how anyone can argue with that. That is a big difference between bombing Iran–a country that has not attacked us–and targeting Al Qaeda targets like bin Laden. Pakistan isn’t going to launch nukes in response to a targeted U.S. attack on Qaeda targets. They don’t even have intercontinental range, so who are they going to bomb in response to what WE do–India? That’s preposterous.

On tax policy, healthcare policy, global warming, military policy, foreign policy, energy policy, Obama and Bush are simply not similar in any way. Bush and McCain are readily, obviously similar in their vision for the world. It is just baseless to claim otherwise.

Comment by Ferd Berfle | 2008-11-30 12:50:46

Had he been honest about his war on the US constitution prior to Iowa, he would have lost. It was as simple as that. So he lied to you, and you ate it up and asked for second helpings LOL. Everyone keeps forgetting that even though Obama campaigned as black, his Mother was white and his white grandparents raised him ( the white grandmother whose funeral he was too busy to attend because of his becoming “president elect”). What a narcisstic piece of crap he showed himself to be by his one day of show to his sick grandmother and then the no-show for funeral.

The only “narcissistic piece of crap” is Larry, who wrote just before she died that Barry was obviously faking his grandmother’s illness…for what reason, he did not know. When she died, he offered no retraction or apology for his disgusting assertion. Scum Of The Earth.

Comment by KintheNorthwest | 2008-11-30 20:32:32

Strange that there was no announced funeral.
Seems strange that there has not been any announced memorial service. According to the media she was very well liked and had lots of friends, so where was a service at least for her friends?
Come to think of it — Has anyone seen any pictures of Obama’s grandmother in lets say the last 5 or so years…..
There is a VERY out of focus video that could be a guy for what its worth.

You got it guys I dont trust this guy….Obama lied just once too often for me to believe him at anything.

Comment by imustprotest | 2008-11-30 12:28:43

To quote Bill Clinton:

Whether government can actually deliver becomes quite important. It becomes in a way, THE question. Suppose for example you’re a voter. And you have Candidate X and Candidate Y. Candidate X agrees with you on everything, but you don’t think that person can deliver on anything. Candidate Y disagrees with you on half the issues, but you believe that on the other half, the candidate will be able to deliver. For whom will you vote?

Comment by Hank | 2008-11-30 13:20:53

Obviously, the half of the issues that Candidate Y “agrees” with you on, are going to be ignored, in favor of the other half of the issues he agrees with his base on. Those Candidate Y will make sure to get pushed through, because that is where his most loyal voters care the most, that is where the campaign donations are coming from, that is where the real, , committed, year-after-year-after-year votes are.

Let me tell ya’—Barky has NO STANCE what-so-ever- so he took Hill and Bill’s..now bite it! Don’t think for one minute it was Barky’s idea to pick these people. Except for Valerie Jarret and Samantha ‘monster’ Powers, Bill and Hill picked the administration!!!!!!!! Barky ran to Bill scared as hell, right after he won and told Bill…”Oh sheet, I don’t know what I’m doing, help me!” So Bill took the reins and helped Barky get a plan and helped him pick his “team”..Bill was waving his finger in Barky’s face saying “and you need to….”

Little difference on the issues between them?

How about qualifications and knowledge?

We didn’t want a puppet king.

We wanted someone actually qualified to do the job.

That is Hillary and it was never Obama — and from his current appointments, that has now become painfully obvious. He is hiring Clinton and the other Clintonista adults to mind the store. So much for change we can believe in.

Similar on the issues? Anyone can put out a policy paper that they lifted from someone else — that is not how real governing or decision making is accomplished. And it takes more to lead than reading from a teleprompter and memorizing scripted remarks.

The pressure cooker that is the White House and all the immense responsibilities that go with the job, do not lend themselves well to a media creation lacking in underlying substance.

I wish some of you get over Hillary and understand she sold you out! That little private visit at Feinberg’s house had the “fix” already. She ponder around with her husband until she got most of the senior citizens, the hispanic and the diehard democrats back on her side. She succeeded! Period! The position of Sec of State was in the fix already, children. The man could not win without her, period! So, as long as Obama is moving to the central of things, he will do fine with the american people. I, will not salute him until he removes Acorn, betrays moveon.org, throws Msnbc and Soros out to the streets to where they belong, and show the american people his birth certificate. Until then, I will continue to say Hillary sold us out and HE is not my president. He is a cotton club chicago thug and until I see he address the above issues, he will remain to me a chicago thug. If he does address the issues that I have underlined, I will respect him with all my heart. Hillary’s millions of voters are split and that crack is not the ceiling it is “the american people seeing her for what she really is”, a woman of ambition. Sorry, because I know that many of you on this blog adore her, but, the truth is in the pudding. There will be a woman in the whitehouse soon, but, it will not be one of the Clintons. It will be a woman who loves her children, who has tolerance with other’s livestyle, who has no skeletons in her closet, who’s husband adores her, who looks for the right path of goodness for our country. Gay women must stop trying to bash the straight women, because at the end, it will hurt a woman’s chance of being in whitehouse office. All women should work hard for a heterosexual woman to break this ceiling, and the women that are gay should understand that there will never be a gay couple in office. Maybe in 3015. Let’s be real now and let us work really hard to put our preferences aside for the next woman or you can just get use to having the presidency for “men” for the next 300 years. That is if we are still alive.

Hillary loves America and is not egotistical in the sense that Barky is. Hillary is in it to help out and does not need to get a name for herself. She already has one. She didn’t sell us out. She was KICKED OUT of the race even though she won and now she is trying to still help us by staying involved in this with this dreadful president select Barky SoetoroBama. Now I hope that Barky and Hillary work with Gov. Palin to get that energy pipeline down to the lower 48. They need to walk the talk or there will be mayhem.

Comment by Ani | 2008-11-30 15:27:24

I’m afraid you are just selling her out the way the media did — beat up the woman and hold her to a different standard.

She never said she would stop being a Democrat. To do what you are asking would have been unheard of — again we have the memo of “She is power hungry” — coming from someone who says they supported her.

Sorry. I don’t buy it. She showed more courage than I have ever seen from any politican in the face of horrible adversity. Once she saw 50 ways from Sunday that the writing was on the wall, she made a decision to stay viable in her poltiical career so that she could continue to work effectively to help the American people — which she is now doing as you can see.

Expect her to commit political suicide and go out in a blaze of glory that ultimately would have changed nothing nor accomplished anything is unreasonable in my view.

She is too important a political voice not to live to fight another day. If you think she had any other choice (if she wants to continue to implement her agenda) then I respectfully suggest you go back and review the media behavior, Obama’s and the backstabbers at the DNC this past year and remember her courage. I have never seen anything like it. I will not bash her now.

We need her. Remember that. This guy is going to be President — whether I like it or not, whether you like it or not. The fact is we had better have him flanked by the best talent we’ve got to get the job done. We still need to protect our country and it would be nice if everything decent people have worked for their entire lives didn’t go down the toilet because he doesn’t know what he is doing.

If we are ever to see justice the travesty that happened this year, it is not going to happen right now — if ever. That sucks, but that’s the way it is. The trick is to never forget and keep holding everyone’s feet to the fire.

Hillary is not the one we should be beating up. She has endured plenty, thank you very much.

The only thing I can take from this is that you prefer Sarah Palin over Hillary Clinton as the next president.

Thanks to you clowns, she’s probably never going to get that chance. Nope, you boobs had to insist on that third-stringer.

Comment by Hank | 2008-11-30 12:16:31

I’m so, so frigging thrilled that Sarah Palin will never be president. I so, so hope the GOP runs her in 2012. Democratic Landslide, baby.

As for Hillary, she can still run again in 8 years. I think she is a fine public servant–as I always have–and would have proudly voted for her in the general election. I will proudly vote for her if she runs for president again. Why you folks couldn’t extend the same to Democratic nominee Barack Obama is the great mystery of this election.

Thankfully, your absence at the party made not a dent at the polls this time around. Not a dent. Can you say Indiana? Ohio? Pennsylvania? Florida? Virginia? Nevada?

Ouch all around, isn’t it?

Comment by rolling_thunder | 2008-11-30 13:03:29

Sarah Palin in 2012 or 2016. Women are wired differently and I’ll take any honest woman from any party as long as the people relate to her it’s alllllllll goood! It’s time a woman LEADS! That will be a tough road to hoe considering BOBO thinks small towner’s are a bitter folk, clingers to their bibles and their guns. It might be a whole eight years before they can feel good about themselves again.

Comment by Hank | 2008-11-30 13:47:13

If what one politician says on one given day off-handedly makes small-town America unable to “feel good about themselves again” for “a whole eight years”, Barack Obama’s health care plan cannot be implemented soon enough. These people need serious mental health care!

Comment by WildChild | 2008-11-30 13:51:10

Hillary is done. Of course Sarah is a threat because she is young and she will clean up the crooks from Washington. People know how she’ll put the tired old crooks out to pasture so they have to portray her as stupid just to slam her brand. It won’t work. 65% of Repubs will be voting for her and 35% dems will vote for her too. We missed our opportunity to have Hillary. Sarah is just as good!
Governor Sarah Palin for president- 2016!

Hey, check the archives all over the web for the days this summer when the OBOTS were BEGGIN Barky Soetorobama to pick either Palin or Pawlenty as his VP>>check it out! it went on all summer!
Now why would OBOTS tell Barky to pick a Repub. Strange bots..brainless voters have taken over!!!!!!!!!!

Hank, sweetie, Ani is absolutely right about Hillary, and you are–as usual–100% wrong about everything.

However, I would take Sarah Palin over BO as president. She’s smart, competent, and HONEST, however much I might disagree with her on policy.

BO–not so smart, not so competent, and completely DISHONEST re his real stance on policy.

Take NAFTA, instance. Talked against it in Ohio and Pennsylvania, but sent his lacky Austan Goolsbee to Canada to assure them it was simply campaign rhetoric and he really, truly loved NAFTA.

The Canadians busted him for his duplicity; he whined and blamed Hillary(!) Even Hillary biographer Carl Bernstein–no fan of Hillary (she has thick ankles, you know)–came to her defense, pointing out that she had been against NAFTA at the time, but Bill had overruled her–and then the Canadians busted BO again for his attempt to blame Hillary for his own duplicity.

You could look it up, but of course you won’t. You don’t have the integrity and you don’t have the guts.

Contemptible little Obot. You lot make me sick to my stomach.

BHOs presidency is illegitimate.

I’l reply to that interesting statement with a lovely set of numbers:

52.7 to 45.9

Or would you prefer…

365 to 173

Or would you prefer…

66.8 million to 58.3 million

Right, but President-Elect Obama’s victory is “illegitimate”.

Whatever it takes to get through your day, I suppose.

Comment by Hillary or Bust | 2008-11-30 13:45:32

Any presidency won through voter intimidation and FRAUD is illegitimate, no matter WHAT the final numbers say.

Obama “won” caucuses often by numbers as high as 70 to 30 percent, but those numbers were based on FRAUD and INTIMIDATION, and therefore NOT LEGITIMATE.

Comment by Hank | 2008-11-30 14:07:26

And that anecdotal bullshit that you refer to came from eye witnesses who felt there was fraud and intimidation at their caucuses. You can’t make the kind of statement when there is no accountability at caucuses. Nobody checks ID so nobody knows who anybody is. Since is a private vs a public function, you can’t even call the cops unless a law is clearly broken. And the last time I checked, lying through your teeth about who you are or about where you live is protected speech in this country. It’s perfectly legal. LOL Which is probably why you BOBOweenies felt it was OK to do it.

The Party wants her neutralized…Out of the Senate…Out of the way…No more running for POTUS.
The Party is appeasing Centrists with these appointments…which won’t last…as it busily builds and solidifies a new base and New Platform.
In order to do this it had to get rid of Independent Clinton(s) and they have chosen the pragmatic seemingly face saving option…The figurehead role…If they were each 15 years younger…It might be different but anyone who thinks HRC will still be thinking of running in 2012 or after is not looking at the facts…She’s just trying to make some legacy arrangements…sheeesh!
I guess maybe they are both just worn out…SAD!

Comment by pm317 | 2008-11-30 12:34:40

It is very sad. The country at large was ready and voted for a strong woman leader and it was stolen from her and us by crooks, thieves, and liars. It is still possible that he is in over his head and that she might help the administration do the right thing. I fervently hope you’re wrong and she will get a chance to accomplish something of significance as SoS (what an acronym! Oleader’s SoS). But we have to acknowledge reality, she won’t be running for POTUS again. What a missed opportunity for America! Some of the people were hoodwinked twice, and that is not us.

rofl Great post.

Yes, O-shit!’s hardcore proomoters were just a bunch of haters, weren’t they. Clouded by their own preferences they chose O-shit! as their vessel. But they obviously NEVERY PAID ATTENTION, because even O-shit! said he stayed neutral and allowed the people to reflect their own choices on to him.

You can’t even claim they didn’t see the writing, because he said that in his early interviews.

He also said he admired Bill Clinton and studied his speeches.

Too bad everything O-shit is doing is just a week copy, not the real deal, which makes him that much more dangerous. In his effort to want to rise to power, he went with the wrong crowd, the ones willing to put the inexperienced fellow in, so they can work on their own interests in exchange. If only Hillary was in the Oval Office as it should be…although she was’nt SELECTED by Dean, pelosi, Brazile, etc she was ELECTED by the majority of the voters. Not that voters rights matter anymore as evidenced by the last 3 elections.

Hillary, unlike Barky does’nt need training wheels or 300 tutors advisors.

Comment by mimi | 2008-11-30 12:21:11

Hillary did not SELL OUT!

She wasn’t going to win the nomination. The deck was stacked against her and 0bama had all the cards: the DNC, money players, along with AAs, younger voters.

The Party would have been hopelessly fractured/split and she would have been banished to Bogeyland. Bill, too. Her career in the Senate would have been over… Can that penetrate your pea brains? OVER!!!

And considering that 10 million Repubs stayed home, maybe, just maybe, 0bama would have pulled out a win anyway.

She made a deal, not just for power, but to get her and Bill’s good name back in the AA community. This is the part that rankles a lot of you because it’s clear that many of you have a ‘fuck the AA community attitude.’ You all simply have no idea how many AAs now believe the Clintons are racists and some will never change this point of view.

Unfortunately, as a Democrat, AAs are an important part of their base in national politics. And don’t overlook the spillover into the Latino base as well. Look at all the Dems who also folded their tents and went to the 0bama/dark side.

It’s not as cut and dried as many of you seem to believe. And the msm aided in the playing of the race card. If we’ve learned nothing from this election, we should really understand how many Americans believe anything if it’s validated on tv news.

I’m as annoyed about these events as anyone else. But the bigger picture is way too complex to blame one person. Or rather, one visible person.

The blame belongs on the power players behind 0bama. This was a planned coup and they succeeded. They won.

And this is why I am ‘Unaffiliated.’

If we want to get things back on track, stop blaming and start making sure, that we never get played for sucker Democratic voters again.

Hmmm…Mimi I don’t think HRC sold out…I think she chose the best option for herself…I also think it is the end of her political career and may greatly diminish her immediate sphere of influence for which I hold Barky and his Glam Sham responsible…
That said HRC and her historic run for POTUS will inspire others to action as they must face the reprucussions of the party’s actions as these continue to unfold…And I think your call to this is well stated.

Hillary did not SELL OUT!

I appreciate your heartfelt support of Hillary Clinton. I have some unfortunate news to share with you.

The Obama-haters who write columns for this site, and those who generally comment on it, are, psst…REPUBLICANS!

In fact, Larry Johnson uses this website as a large-scale trolling operation, designed to ensnare good faith Democrats like yourself into a web of lies and innuendo designed to eventually convince you to vote against your own interests, and for the Republican Party.

Larry Johnson is a Republican. Always has been, always will be. This site is just another Republican website. These people are using Hillary Clinton as a weapon, a prop, to hurt the Democratic Party at large. You’ll notice that Hillary Clinton’s public statements and positions are completely at odds with No Quarter’s current political philosophy. Gee, why is that? Maybe it’s because in style and policy orientation, NQ is completely antithetical to Hillary Clinton’s aspirations for this country.

Conclusion? NQ couldn’t care less where Hillary Clinton goes, or what she wants to do for this country. They only care about hurting the Democrats, and the Democrats’ progressive vision for this country. Their method? Convincing enough good-faith Democrats like yourself to abandon their party as some sort of “protest” against Hillary Clinton’s loss in the primaries.

Remember that Larry’s specialty is in information black-ops, CIA, Roger Stone-style. This website is his project. To convince you to screw yourself over, on behalf of the GOP.

If Mrs. Clinton knew that Obama had all these mysteries around him she should have gotten dirty and bring them out. Her concern was to have a democrat in the office, and it didn’t matter whether it was a crook. For your information, I fought hard for this woman, I busted my ass for almost two years campaigning and blogging for her. I am disqusted with her at this point. Funny stuff, Pat! You know, if BO had stated publicly before the election that he intended to give Hillary a prime spot on his cabinet, not to mention fill the west wing with the last Democratic Administration, half his voters would have stayed home! That’s what McCain should have been promoting, rather than all the stuff about Hillary criticizing BO. If he’d come out saying, “electing Obama means bringing back most of the Clinton White House,” it could have turned the election! :)

I have been a Democrat for almost 39 years, voted Democrat in every presidential election. Local Republican here and there. I have set up primary caucuses in California for the candidate of my choice for years. If my candidate lost, I eventually supported the primary winner. In my past expierence, Democratic primary campaigns had some issues and the caucuses were always a problem, but, never have I seen state primary caucuses turn into a fiasco.65% to 35% on an average for BHO. On a state wide polling, Hillary was at least even or ahead by a couple of points. Was it because of the great volunteerism and they did better than the Hillary camp? No, it was the thuggery of the BHO camp and Hillary was traditional. Caucuses are notorious for low turn out, but the discrepency has never been that off. Maybe few states, but this was a common to all caucuses. Obama recieved illegal votes, consequently uncertified delegates. Water under the bridge? Not really, I will never get involve in a campaign again. This time the Democrats and the Republicans can go to hell.

I just watched the original “Dead Zone” movie from 1983 with Christopher Walken. In it, Martin Sheen plays this insane, egotistical politician who is running for senate with plans to be POTUS.

All I could think of when I was watching the film was, “Oh my god, this is Obama.” They even had one scene where a character is watching the would-be senator on TV and says “can you believe people fall for this stuff?”

Well, dufus, finish the sentence with: Ross Perot took enough votes in both elections to stop anyone from getting 50%. You selective use of facts (lies by ommission) are going to give you a hot seat at some point.

Comment by Hank | 2008-11-30 16:34:26

I am using “Hillary or Bust”’s logic, not my own. According to their logic, because so many of the people didn’t vote for Obama, that puts into question whether or not Obama is “good”. I merely pointed out that a far larger percentage of the electorate voted against Bill Clinton in 1992, and asked if that made Clintons not “good” as well. No one was using “lies by omission”, and I resent the ridiculous assertion.

(Comments wont nest below this level)

You have memory right? If you can’t remember the things you say on a blog you must not have a very firm foundation of principles going for when you say them.

Comment by Hank | 2008-11-30 20:02:44

You’re confusing memory with principles. I know the principles I believe down to my soul. I’ll always speak from those principles, so if I forget a word I spoke here or there, it doesn’t matter.

Comment by WiidChild | 2008-11-30 20:11:20

I’m not exactly sure how you can say I’m confusing memory with principle. I only argue from my principles and those principles include the words I use in those arguments. That makes remembering what I say a snap because I not only know what I say but how I say it. That’s how I very quickly know when somebody is bullshitting me when they call me out on something that came out of them as opposed to something that came out of me. LOL so my original statement stands.

Comment by Hillary or Bust | 2008-11-30 20:32:46

Apparently the principles you believe in don’t include DEMOCRACY, that it’s OK for your guy to win via caucus fraud as long as he wins.

And you still never answered my question – HOW ARE YOU SO DAMN SURE OBAMA IS A GOOD MAN????

Comment by Hank | 2008-11-30 20:43:11

Don’t try to project your feel good nonsense onto me. I never felt that Hillary was “a good woman in my heart.” In fact, I think Hillary is a smart, shrewd woman, and not “good” so much as pragmatic.

To you Obama, like Chauncey, is not a nitwit; to others who see through the political sleight of hands he’s a fraud.

Will Obama’s adoring public ever admit they’ve been had? No. They’ll just keep on propping him up further with Greek columns and comparisons to Lincoln, JFK, Reagan, etc.

I dont know. It seems as if to me alot of the AAs that believed hysterically into the “Clintons were racist” theme were more online and in the news than on the streets. It seemed as if every Obama supporter you would meet online 24/7 was black, a former Clinton supporter who discovered that all of a sudden in the 2008 election when they suddenly became racist… when no one has ever heard the claim before…. the decided to support Obama.

What I don’t get are the people who think she sold out and how they never intend to support her eva eva EVA again. Which is your right. But okay so what if she bucked the system told everyone to shove it, started calling out the Democratic party and the MSM. Would it change the fact that Obama is still President elect?

Would it change what we experienced in the primaries and GE? Why do people hold Senator Clinton to these high standards and make all of these ultimatums but refuse to fight the ones who are not even attempting to hide what they are doing? I don’t know, maybe it was just me, I did live in Hillaryland, still do on occasion, but I don’t recall hearing any Dems or anyone else elected officials on CNN, MSNBC, NBC, Hardball, The Situation Room, defending her or speaking out against the sexism, corruption or fraud.

But yet people voted these same people who sat on the sideline and just navel gazed into office again based on a letter designation. They have just given you a up close and personal look on how hard they “really” **wink** ***wink*** will fight on behalf of you on capitol hill. **wink*** (not at all) bet you forgot about that bail out money..

And yet people voted them right back in. But yet it’s Senator Clinton people plan to neva eva neva EVA support or vote for again. Makes wonderful sense..Got it. (Not) But the beauty of it is,
is the fact we are all entitled to our own opinion, and we have the right to our own judgement, which I am very very glad for.

Interesting and provocative cartoon, Pat.

Your cartoons and commentaries always manage to stir up controversy. Two things come to mind regarding many of the comments:

Bicker, bicker, bicker! …and…

A person convinced against his/her will is of the same opinion still.

I think it may be good for international relations if Hillary becomes SOS, if Obama can respect her wisdom and good judgement and they don’t tangle on foreign policy issues and how to deal with them.

I think Obama is politically smart to have picked many experienced and widely respected Clinton people for his initial cabinet. They can always be replaced since they serve at the pleasure of the President.

I say, wait and see and give the man a chance. It will not be good for the country or our international reputation to have another failed administration.

Comment by pm317 | 2008-11-30 14:49:00

Most of us here will give the man a chance and even wish him luck. What most of us don’t want is rewriting history to say everything was fair and square and hunky, dory.

Comment by rolling_thunder | 2008-11-30 14:57:05

Give him a chance? Why? What did he ever do to deserve a chance? :?:
You should have given Hillary a chance. She has done much to deserve it! Plus she is as smart as a fox.
And SHE HAS EXPERIENCE! No. No chances given to Soetorobama. We can’t gamble on America. He’s outta there because he is not eligible to be POTUS as per the constitution.
And he can take Samantha Monster-Powell with him.
She’s a disgrace to the Irish.

“Clinton People”…

Oh you sad little fool. They’re not the Gambino crime family. They’re just the Clintons. Two democrats who happened to have occupied the White house back in the 90’s. If you worked in D.C. in the years between 1992 and 2000 and you’re a democrat, apparently that makes you a “Clinton Person”. You forget that that means zilch in today’s political reality. What power do the Clintons have? Do they control the Democratic party? Do they preside over powerful Senate committes? Do they control some “electoral machine” that can make or break a candidacy? Mmm. Not so much anymore. The Clintons (Bill and Hillary) have nothing but the power of their own personalities at the moment. That may be enough to mesmerize cultist Bloggers like yourself, but in the real world, the political history has moved on and left them with no real power. He runs a big fancy charity. She’s the junior senator from New York who now serves at the pleasure of Barack Obama. Barack won the election, he’s President. All those “Clinton People” are from now on “Obama People”. Including Hillary Clinton. She’s an “Obama Person” now.

Comment by lorac | 2008-11-30 17:39:37

I think that the activists, particularly the online ones, may have spinning heads. But sadly, most people don’t pay much attention to politics. There are huge numbers that don’t even know about the Rules and Bylaws meeting in which they stole delegates from Hillary to make sure BO would “win”.

So those same people aren’t paying attention now to even know he has thrown his base under the bus. I think most democrats think that everything is peachy. Pretty sad.

But my point is, we can’t assume that most people “know the truth”. The online community isn’t the same as the general population. And the silence of the MSM works to keep it that way.

Comment by jbjd | 2008-12-01 00:20:32

As we talk about the pundits and their dismay of having to report Obama’s embrace of Clinton’s peeps as well as the genuine article herself, I suggest you take a look at Glenn Greenwald’s opinion of General Electric/NBC/MSNBC’s use of “analysts, experts, talking heads and who they are. Then think back and remember who they all turned to for comment about Hillary’s campaign and her resume and abilities. Remember how condescending they were of her accomplishments while propping up Obama. The same was/is true of all the networks. Always keep that in mind when you hear them or see an article quoting what was said on Meet the Press, Face the Nation and Other Sunday shows. They all have an agenda and it mostly involves money and egos. The fact remains that our 4th estate is dead, we just have to bury it.

Hank, with respect, if Obama were a white man with same resume and attempted to seek the Presidency, he would have been laughed off the stage. He is where he is, President Elect, because he is black. And that disturbs me.

If Obama sought to become a Federal Agent for example, he would be declined. He would never be able to pass a background check! In this instance, his racist church and his associations with people like Ayers would matter and yet to become President, they did not.

Comment by WiidChild | 2008-11-30 19:50:21

That’s not a disqualification. As long as Clinton’s up front about it and doesn’t try to hide anything they can wave that kind of thing. On the other hand, play around with multiple citizen ships like BOBO is accused of doing (US , Kenyan, Indonesian) and your going to get the stink eye every time.

“That’s not a disqualification. As long as Clinton’s up front about it and doesn’t try to hide anything they can wave that kind of thing.”

A statement like that proves you have no idea how stringent the FBI’s screening process really is, nor how slanted it is against anyone left-of-center.

I’m going through the process right now. What I said is the truth. I don’t have a perfect history and nobody expects you to. But if you are not honest about the things you did in life you will go down in flames every time. Me personally, I’d rather explain a trip to commie land or being a contentious objector then have to explain divided loyalties. Divided loyalties are a big no no when it comes to working in the federal government.

Comment by Hank | 2008-11-30 20:38:17

“I’d rather explain a trip to commie land or being a contentious objector then have to explain divided loyalties.”

You mean conscientious objector.

“Divided loyalties are a big no no when it comes to working in the federal government.”

Divide loyalites, like…living in Indonesia until age 10? Yes, 10 year-olds with no choices or control over their lives are always screened out by the FBI. Are you dosing right now?

Comment by WiidChild | 2008-11-30 20:48:47

Nope, divided loyalties like traveling to Pakistan at a time when Americans weren’t permitted to travel there. Holding more that one counties passport when you’re an adult, those divided loyalties. It’s the reason article two requires natural born citizen ship. It the reason we’d like to verify BOBO’s birth history.

Comment by Jackie | 2008-12-01 07:28:43

Exactly…because he is black.

We have,as a nation, failed to get “it”. Martin Luther King, Jr wanted us to be judged on the content of our character not the color of our skin.

Obama is Black and that is his singular qualification. ANd the silly bastards in Hollyweed are patting themselves ont he back over how noble they are for voting in a black guy.

I am the embodiment of the “dream” that Dr. King professed. I could give a shit about your race or religion. I want honest able people that bring something to the table. Obama is a puppet in blackface to console the closet bigots about their own racist behavior and attitudes.

If America were truely an evolved people we wouldn’t be proud that a black guy was elected. We would be celebrating the election of the 44 chief executive and the fact that the Constitution has been upheld once again. Instead the Hollyweed crowd is using the medium of primetime tv to sooth their consciences and tell us how wonderful we are because a black was elected.

Our Constitution has been utterly failed and our nation put at extreeme risk by “white guilt” and our collective inability to look in the mirror and live with our flaws.

Instead of electing a steady hand with decades of experience and a track record of honesty we have Barack Obama. A man devoid of honesty or evidence of a backbone. He is so insecure about himself that he had to have a sign created for his podium that says,”Office of the President-Elect”

WTF????? Like we don’t know? This “office” of his exists only in his mind. Batton down the hatches kids we are in for a nasty 4 years. With God’s help we will survive intact–but like the money says, ” In God we Trust” not in Obama.
