		<description>I was channel surfing last night and stopped in on Olbermann discussing Palin, the GA election, etc.  They were discussing her various paths to the WH.  

Olbermann actually criticized Palin if she became a Senator that she would esssentially have to start running for President immediately.

Um....like Obama did!!?

		<description>I realized when talking to my boyfriend about ending our relationship that if he and I were truly meant to be, he&#039;d have been right there with me supporting Hillary and we&#039;d have both felt that it was wrong for a nothing to be handed the top job.  He was ok with anyone with a D by their name.  If we were so great together we would have been more like minded on a topic like this.</description>

I guess I should thank Obama for showing me the true colors of my man before I got in too deep, but still 3 years down the drain.  Bummer.  I lost a good friend this year, too. This is the first time I have read this as a woman fearing for the continued exploitation and oppression of women by the &#039;winners&#039; in this awful DNC war.  What I take from this, and I thank you for creating an opportunity for me to see this, is that everyone who has been involved in this epic gender struggle this season has consecrated space in the US to an issue that really profoundly permeates our existence as a nation and that, even with the sacrifice of so much, is not yet resolved.  And that the issue -- gender respect, gender equity, call it what you will -- can only be resolved by how we live from here on out.

The differences are horrifying, however.  We go forward with no physical space showing what has happened, no new constitutional clauses, no new call to equality for all, no new to-do list to eradicate the deep injustices of the past -- we go forward with a vast and still-contested accumulation of cultural evidence still floating around in bits and bytes, our feelings and new knowledges, and ambiguous uncertain gains and goals.

But I am committed to living as if gender issues will not always take second (or 1000th) place to everything else people do.

		<description>I also have a friend for more than 30 years.  She inspired me because she has polio and have worked hard to make something of herself.  Before the election, she called me to tell me how excited she was supporting Obama and was startled when I rattled off what I know about Obama and why I do not like him.. She was very disappointed in me because I did not support her candidate.. I told her that I do not like him and I do not like his policies. For one thing, my husband and I worked so hard to accumulate the rewards we have in life and I just can not accept the fact that Obama is going to redistribute what we work so hard for.   After the election, she expected me to accept that the people have spoken and that I should support the newly elected president.  Again, I begged to disagree with her and told her that I still do not want him as my president and I will never support whatever it is that he wants to do as president.. She  attempted to explain that perhaps I am a racist and that I am wishing for Obama to be assassinated.  That was the final draw.  I told her that I do not wish for anyone to psychoanalyze me why I did not vote for Obama or why I continue to  refuse my support for his presidency.  I just lost a friend on account of our differences.  I told her I am not alone in my position and that she should stop telling me how to think and how to conduct my life.  She said she is happy joining as a volunteer for the community organization that Obama people set up in her community in Florida.. She proudly bragged that if there is anything Obama is not doing right before their very eyes.. she claimed she has a direct line to the White House and tell Obama they disapprove of his decisions.. I told her...In your dreams.. it will never happen.. I felt that our friendship had ended right there.. I have been sending her Christmas present every year because I am more privileged in life than her, but somehow, deep in my heart, I felt that I could not accept her ways and her thinking and that we lost our friendship..</description>
