Kerry is crying in his beer. Actually it’s probably a nice Cabernet Sauvignon

An extra added bonus to the naming of Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State is that John Kerry is sad, really sad. Both the Boston Globe and Herald are reporting that the man who managed to lose to George W. Bush in 2004 is not comfortable with his new seat under the Obama bus. Kerry Obama
[photo above: ET and Lurch together at Fright Night at Universal Studios]

He was apparently measuring drapes for the office over in Foggy Bottom (trimmed with French lace, I’m sure) and now will have to try and have them installed in his cramped Senate Office back on Capitol Hill. In the Globe, Joan Vennochi reminds us, just what a good little Obot, Kerry was:

The Massachusetts senator helped to launch Obama on the national stage. As his party’s presidential nominee, Kerry chose Obama as the keynote speaker for the 2004 Democratic National Convention. Ever since then, Kerry did everything right by Obama.

He walked away from his own presidential dreams and embraced Obama’s. He helped with fund-raising and organized a Web-based fight against the kind of negative campaigning that helped derail his own presidential bid. He also delivered a powerful speech when Democrats gathered in Denver to nominate Obama. …

Both Kerry and Senator Edward M. Kennedy endorsed the Illinois senator at a critical point in his primary battle. Back in Massachusetts, Kerry took most of the heat for the Obama endorsement. An enraged contingent of Bay State women for Clinton badgered Kerry for his failure to back their candidate. They were so angry, the women helped a Democratic rival win enough votes at the state convention to earn a spot on the ballot. As a result, Kerry faced his first primary challenger in 24 years.

You can read her entire article here

Perhaps the junior Senator from Massachussets should have studied the President-elect’s history a little more. “Change you can believe in” is a new slogan, the one he has always lived by is “what have you done for me lately?”

The more conservative Herald is a bit more blunt.

Word from Capitol Hill is that, despite his kind words for Hillary Clinton yesterday, Sen. John Kerry is angry and disappointed about not being considered a serious candidate for Barack Obama’s secretary of state.

“He’s pretty PO’d,” said Someone Who Knows. “After going from the early front-runner to not even being considered, he’s pretty disappointed.”

You can read the rest of that article here.

Bottom line, Kerry lost out. Why, because he is a loser. Losers lose, that’s what they do. Getting elected as a Democrat in Massachusetts, does not count. Britney Spears could win that Senate seat if she had the Democratic line. Several reports in recent weeks indicated that for all of his loyal Obot status, Kerry would have been more than willing to endorse Hillary Clinton had she promised him the Secretary of State position (something she apparently was unwilling to do.) Perhaps that’s another reason why Obama and Clinton seem to be getting along these days, they probably have had a couple of laughs together over the thought of Kerry as S.O.S..

The Herald article did add this unrelated nugget.

As for Hillary, we hear that one of the reasons she decided to abandon the Senate to serve under her former rival was Sen. Ted Kennedy’s snub on health care.

Kennedy declined to put the former first lady on his health care task force – the group that will shape the Senate’s health care bill.

Word is, the senior senator, who is battling brain cancer, hopes to get the bill through the Senate as soon as work is completed on Obama’s economic plan, and he didn’t believe Clinton had the juice to get it done.

I would have thought the “Liberal Lion” wouldn’t need any additional juice to get anything through a 58 seat Democratic Senate.

That reminds me, after all the work Kerry and Kennedy did for Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton easily won the Massachussets primary. Enjoy the Cabernet.

The highlight of the primary election was HRC winning the state of MA even though Kerry and Kennedy ganged up on her there.

Kennedy has sure shown himself to be an even greater jerk by denying HRC a position on his health care task force. He and Caroline have really diminished themselves this election year.

And she spent months telling us he was completely unacceptable as commander in chief, only to turn around and endorse him, enthusiastically campaign for him, and now agree to work for him.

Politics. Go figure.

Comment by Ferd Berfle | 2008-12-04 20:24:52

Why do you come here, especially since all you seem to do is complain about one thing or another? Are you some sort of control freak who wants to stuff your opinion down someone else’s throat or are you just a contradictor with a lot of time on your hands?

Perhaps it is time for you to do something else and put us out of your self-evident and self-induced misery.

You didn’t really expect that you would get an answer straight up did you? The truth in your statement stands on its own merit. There is no answer. So the individual who comes in here swinging has to just throw another silly punch. And they wonder why no one takes them seriously? It would be so much easier if they just picked their spots.

Comment by sfhillary | 2008-12-04 20:20:02

What exactly am I supposed to answer? Why did Obama criticize HRC during the primary, then hire her for his administration? Because politics is a game of emphasis; when you’re running against a member of your own party in a primary, you emphasize the negative because you want people to vote for you rather than for your opponent, even though the two of you share most of your views. Then after you win, you try to choose the best people for each job you have to offer, and maybe the best person for one job is the person who used to be your opponent.

Is this concept really so difficult to comprehend?

Comment by Ferd Berfle | 2008-12-04 20:29:03

sfhillary, as far as Senator Clinton’s appointment goes, while in of itself it is a good thing, the onus is BO as to how he makes use of her talents, since he has none and is out of his depth, like a clam at low tide.

Comment by Ann | 2009-01-03 00:06:02

Please, tell me which of Obama’s supporters have changed? Give me the pleasure of laughing out loud.

Oh, and the negative evidence against Obama is exactly the same as it was during the primaries…his complete and total lack of discernible experience. Sure, he’s proven that he’s adept at getting qualified people to do his HOMEWORK for him, but exactly how does that distinguish him?

He’s W, pure and simple, he just has a “D” behind his name. For now, that is. He’s probably much more conservative, socially at least, than Hillary ever could be.

But the topic is Kerry. I’m sure he’s disappointed, but, so what? So was I when I had no other choice than to vote for Obama. Kerry got exactly what his self-serving, punk ass deserved. He’s such a bone-head.

Yes — and don’t forget Gov. Duval Patrick’s endorsement, too — and Hillary still trounced him to the tune of 15 pts.

Say what you will about Obama (and I have said plenty), he does know a winner from a loser and he sure would feel a lot better and safer with Hillary leading the parade for US foreign policy than Kerry.

Kerry absolutely got what he deserved. What a turncoat!

Well, it would have been nice if the people in MA had voted him out of office, ditto Barney Frank, and sent someone more deserving as Members of Congress. I had high hopes for this happening when Hillary took the state, but no such luck. I’m singing no sad songs for Kerry, but for the country who is stuck with a crook who is probably an illegal alien to boot.

Thank you.

he’s supposed to know how it worked, after all, John Ted and John did it to Hillary. Obama has NEVER had a problem serving HIMSELF.

Now he needs to look as good as possible, so he NEEDED Hillary, he wasn’t in to OWING the others.

Kerry should have held something over O like Richardson did. He wasn’t settling for Ambassador to China as was being discussed, even though we KNOW he would have taken it to get out of his bad record and Governorship in NM. Now on a 600 million deficit, no jobs, worse schools and and the over budget Choo Choo is going to fail as soon as he leaves. But he had SOMETHING on O, just like O had on Edwards making him endorse the very next day after saying he wouldn’t endorse.

Obama administration motto:

Everything old is new again.
What once was politics of the past
is now change for the future.

I still expect Kerry to end up as Obama’s SoS…eventually. I can’t help it. I’m just very suspicious of Obama’s real intentions, particularly where the Clintons are concerned. I hope Hillary watches her back.

As far as I’m concerned, these two backstabbers are getting a taste of their own medicine. The two of them put in their historic Prez, so now they can just go somewhere and mull over how white-guilt free they feel!

I’m with you on that one, hootnannie!

Our historic unqualified, shady, crooked, communist Affirmative Action Pres. Like Kerry said, Obama should be President because he’s black. Never mind qualifications and character. Affirmative Action at its most heinous.

On one of the Sunday morning shows, Kerry said (referencing the trouble Hillary’s nomination would cause her), “Universal health care is a non-starter” – said with a sneered lip and a great deal of emphasis.

It was in that moment I went from thinking of Kerry as an incompetent boob to hating him…

whadda turd!

so, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I’m enjoying it.

Comment by NoBamaNoWay | 2008-12-04 19:06:36

and so many obamabots think dems = pure good, repugs = pure evil. they obviously haven’t opened their eyes and noticed that dems are worse than useless these days. many of them are in for the same letdown the got after the 2006 election.

Politics ain’t beanbag, I guess. John Kerry will chair the Foreign Relations Committee, though, right?….Right?…..hmmm….is this mike on?

Comment by Peggy Sue | 2008-12-04 18:34:25

The moment that made my head spin on Kerry was when he stated, without hesitation, that Barack Obama’s main credential for being president was: he’s a black man.

I spewed my coffee on that one. I also put John Kerry on my “horse’s ass” list.

Can you imagine the howl had anyone said that about Hillary Clinton: she’s a woman.

I think there are and will be many PO’d people in the near future.

Plus the detail on Kerry’s demand to be named SOS in a Hillary Clinton administration is interesting. Guess it’s all about payoffs. And then, there’s paybacks.

What a jerk! He got what he deserved.

Comment by Sassy | 2008-12-04 18:38:02

My understanding was that Daschle put Kerry on to the “O”. Kerry listened to tapes and signed on to the speech at the convention.
Kerry actually did better in 2004 than I expected…the automatic democratic loyalists voted for him, although he was as bland as tofu.
In my opinion, the Kennedy clan were the only power brokers who could pull off the selection of the “O”.
Name one person, who alone, could dominate the entire Democratic Party…certainly not Howard Dean!

Comment by Uppity Woman | 2008-12-04 18:59:18

Daschle is having a great time screwing America. Three, count em, three boardships on ethanol manufacturing companies, and all that subsidy money. What’s a little world hunger from corn shortages and tripling of cost of other grains when you can make that kind of money.

Comment by Andy | 2008-12-04 19:08:22

BO is also a BIG ethanol’s industry lackey…Why do you think he voted for Cheney’s energy bill?

Remember Ken Silverstein (Harper’s magazine) 2006 article Barack Obama Inc.?

Hey that photo of the two stooges. John must have gotten a TwoFer on those suits from his tailor…

Must be rough to be as old as kerry and still be a junior senator because Teddy just won’t go away.

Comment by mimi | 2008-12-04 18:59:21

This almost makes my day.

I despise John Kerry and everything he stands for.

And Ted, too.

That he wouldn’t put Hillary on healthcare just shows you how deep their vindictiveness lies.

I don’t blame Hillar for taking the SoS position. Do you really think these scumbags were going to work with her.

The only reason Ted ain’t under the bus is because of his ’sainted’ last name.

Fuck them all!

Kerry: Obama Can Bridge Divide With Islam “Because He’s A Black Man”

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=miK2LrkPU3o&feature=related

Have you guys seen this vid? I just watched this and I can’t believe that John Kerry is this naive!

I have no sympathy for the traitor Richardson but if Obama promised Kerry SOS and then broke his vow, I fear what he may try to do to Hillary.

Comment by IndayHill | 2008-12-04 20:10:31

I lost my respect to Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, ‘Judas” Richardson and the rest of the back stabbers! The Clintons worked so hard campaigning for them & in return gave an early endosement to Obama. What a bunch of turncoats.
From the entertainment industry, Oprah & Barbara Walters are leading in my list of Most Disgusting People.I bet they’ll be spending millions for their inaugural gowns, while the majority of Americans are hungry & cold.I will not watch their arrogance.
This election was for the rich & famous only!

God Bless America !!!

Comment by beebop | 2008-12-04 20:11:19

Kerry is pointing out the Secret Service guy who used to guard him and 0mama is trying to calm him down. Four years later and poor John still can’t believe he lost to shrub after Americans got to see four horrible years.

RobWarrior, I recall the day Kerry sold his mailing list to BO.

Within 24 hours of it being reported by the echo chamber, I was getting calls and mailers from “he’s our moron now”.

I felt like I needed to take a shower back then and I don’t feel any cleaner about it now. Yes Billy and Johnny being shown the what life in the gutter is like but they have been sent there by a guy who is king of said place. Remember, BO’s spokesperson said, “when BO takes power and rules”, it was not leadership I see by this.

Gov. Billy got Commererce because of Exelon and his past contacts in Energy.
———

The amusing part about it is, John Kerry, in Hienz site, sold me a ticket for the underside of the bus and BO ends up comp’in Kerry with valet “parking” to boot…

Unfortunately Kennedy will never live to see major changes in health care——Obama has back peddled any
how. Remember when he was going to insure 95% of Americans Now he promises only to do away with the preexisting condition exclusion that does not exist under most policies.

Kennedy is really no more than a common criminal Remember his drunk swim that killed a woman

I heard that Barko is trying to have the book banned.

[...] Kerry is crying in his beer. Actually it’s probably a nice Cabernet Sauvignon (by RobWarrior at No Quarter) An extra added bonus to the naming of Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State is that John Kerry is sad, really sad. Both the Boston Globe and Herald are reporting that the man who managed to lose to George W. Bush in 2004 is not comfortable with his new seat under the Obama bus. He was apparently measuring drapes for the office over in Foggy Bottom (trimmed with French lace, I’m sure) and now will have to try and have them installed in his cramped Senate Office back on Capitol Hill… Perhaps the junior Senator from Massachussets should have studied the President-elect’s history a little more. “Change you can believe in” is a new slogan, the one he has always lived by is “what have you done for me lately?” [...]
