Patton’s OPEN THREAD!

This is General Patton aka Patton aka Larry Johnson’s sweetie Rottweiler who misses his dear old pal Ceasar very much. Larry says that Patton LOVES to chase squirrels, but otherwise is not very fierce. The other day, he brought Larry a squirrel! YUM!!!! (The squirrel was, um, deceased. Larry wonders if the poor thing had a heart attack.)

If any of you are able to, please upload YOUR pets’ images. I believe it’s possible to do that, provided you have your image uploaded to an image gallery of some sort, or another Web site. Do try.

If you’re unable to upload your image, but would like to have YOUR pet featured in an open thread, please send me the image at susanunpc at gmail dot com. I will gladly do it. If I fail to, please send me a “nag note” because of my sad Inbox situation.

Wow, more sexism against Hillary.

http://voices.washingtonpost.com/the-trail/2008/12/04/one_more_question.html

Incoming Obama administration director of speechwriting Jon Favreau (L) and a friend pose with a cardboard cutout of incoming Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton at a party.

This speechwriter seems like a sexist clone of Obama himself.

Nice. First post off topic. How kind.

Oh Patton looks adorable… so handsome….

I have the sad vet visit tomorrow with “Bobby” the cat… He’s had a wonderful long life but it will be one sad weekend or longer. he is very tired and has lost over half his body weight.
I moved him here from the UK to the States when we came here over 12 years ago..

Looks like Bobby & Ceaser will be playing together in Animal Kingdom…

Comment by AF catfish | 2008-12-06 00:12:26

RIP – we had a cat named Bob. Her full name was Bobby Clay. My dad, who had been stoic the month before when his dear mother died, was blubbering like a fool when he took Bob to the vet when it was her time.

RIP for your Bob.

Yes it’s tough so sorry to hear about your Dad…
it all takes it toll when we have to do that dreaded visit and coming home alone…

Comment by Pennsylvania Red | 2008-12-06 10:16:22

Maybe Bobby Clay’s passing just tore the bandaid off your Dad’s grief from him mom’s death. My mom passed away a couple years ago, and when my longtime kitty companion died this past weekend, some of the grief about my mom came back for a visit.

Susan, thanks for the invitation to post our pet pix.

Your cat could have hyperthyroidism. If so, it’s very treatable. I’ve had cats live long lives with it, one lived to 21. Just so you know.

THIS IS WHAT OBAMA PLANS TO HIRE? TO WRITE HIS SPEECHES.
WHAT A LOSER.

Comment by Clara Barton | 2008-12-06 07:09:50

This emotionally immature young man was hired by Obama long ago. He’s not new on the scene. Real good judgement, huh?

Comment by bert | 2008-12-06 07:27:07

This cad ALREADY is his main speech writer. He wrote ,ost of his primary and general speeches. Nice huh???

Comment by Susanjane | 2008-12-06 01:04:33

Apparently, Obama has already made a statement. He said, “That is not the Jon
Favreau I knew.”

Patton is a very nice looking dog. Sorry to hear about the loss of your other dog. I went through the same thing you did around a year ago. My dog just stopped eating. He was around 14 years old. He was on all types of meds and special food. I knew it was coming, he was eating less and less, he was starting to fall down a bit and finally he wouldn’t eat anything. I felt so bad about putting him to sleep but it would have been unfair to my dog to put him through much more.

Yet more proof about our Kenyan born “President Select.” Bill Richardson himself says that “Obama is an immigrant.” I can’t WAIT for this nightmare to end and for Obama to be exposed. How much more proof for the Obots need that they have an illegal alien for a Messiah?

Comment by wodiej | 2008-12-06 01:38:24

rest assured, he will be exposed and justice will prevail sooner or later. Look at OJ Simpson. Convicted, 15 years minimum, 6 years before he is even eligible for parole.

Obama has done alot of dirty things, and he is going to have a big payback.

Squirrel chaser. My dogs are squirrel chasers.

Love to chase them squirrels.

Can’t catch them though. Wonder if Patton can?
Bringing home a dead one doesn’t count, although I’m not sure my dogs could even catch one if its dead.

Caesar’s (?) (the human) list of things a dog needs, in order of importance:
1. exercise
2. discipline
3. attention

My gals do alright in numbers 1 and 3, number 2 I’m still working on.

Seems as though Caesar (the dog) got lots of 1. and 3. also to live so long. Rottweiler’s don’t seem to have much problem with discipline, by nature I guess.

What a handsome boy. I lived with a Rottie for a summer in Massachusetts. She was bowl of mush most of the time, but was also a watchful guardian with an overly enthusiastic “affection” for bunnies.

I tried to post a picture of my dog Cleo, so I uploaded it to Flickr then used the html “img” tag to link to it. If this works, I’ll post better instructions in another comment.

oh, Patton, I’m sorry for your loss. Such a sweet face. Your friends is resting and out of pain, so enjoy your family friends who care and love you and all will be OK.

…now, were you trying to play with that squirrel? I understand. :)

I had a cat once, Beau, and he tried to play with our catfish. Beau would actually remove the lid, take a fish out and play with it, not eat it. We know, because apparently when the fish stopped moving, Beau would place in the bowl he had best access to, my Mom’s toilet.

Comment by I'm a Linda too | 2008-12-06 09:32:26

oops, sorry, working on the coffee thing. GOLD FISH, not Catfish. I mean, if it were catfish, we’d all understand, right? :)

Comment by TexasMirth | 2008-12-06 09:45:54

What a clever cat Beau was! My cat, Bootsy, would bat at the fish tank but never figured out how to get her paws on the fish. (for which the fish were thankful.)

lol No doubt grateful fish.

Oh, what a sweetie Patton is!

The other day I FINALLY met the Rottie across the street who rarely gets out for a walk. Nikki has trouble with other dogs (was bitten when a pup) and I try to encourage the woman who owns him (actually, Nikki was dumped on her when her son split) with little tips, etc.

Anyway Nikki loves people and she was so polite and sweet. I wish I could visit with her more, but 3 little nutty dogs get her a bit riled up.

But, I always great her and chat with her from afar as we go by. Luckily, she has a small buddy, a chi named Mario…

Darling Patton, I wish I could visit you right now!!!

Comment by InsightAnalytical-GRL | 2008-12-06 10:09:31

“greet” her, of course….and those are MY 3 nutty little dogs

Lucinda Dopginda -(our shar-pe/Chow/Akita) says “a WOOF, Patton is a good lookin fella!”

Lucy has a fierce exterior, with the bark to match, but a sweetheart of a gal. It’s our little blind, matriarch, toy poodle, who is the one who could put a hurtin on someone deciding to visit while we aren’t home.

Well, after Caesar and Patton, I can see that Larry will have a ready supply of names for any future Rotts in the family: Genghis Khan, Attila, MacArthur, Petraeus, Bonaparte . . . What a goldmine of monikers!

As for the deceased squirrel: I’m sure that Patton was just bringing Larry the evidence of the animal crime committed by some felonious feline.

Using this in the political context, and truly, not to offend, but is there a biblical record of “Jesus” as being retarded?

I mean, lack of O2 at birth, or something?

(I am truly sorry for this vulgar reference, as I understand Sarah Palin’s child, and others, are afflicted with DS. I appauld her courage, and her choice, her son is beautiful. Likewise, all apologies to those who view the above statement offensive, religiously.)

I’m just having a bit of a tussle with someone who prides himself as being of the educated Ivy League elite, someone whom I have had to work around for about six years now, and the guy, with a PHD, no less, is just dense, just stupid, stupid, stupid, teh stupidest man on earth, I swear we could have a “stupid contest,” and he’d win.

I have to wonder how they get those degrees, sometimes.

Thank you, I feel a little better, now.
