Why…? Are there no journalists in America?

Everytime the subject of Warren comes up it reminds me of a story that I once heard; When Nazis knocked at the doors of a monastery, as they did always when checking for runaway jews, the priest had to make a moral decision. He could tell the truth to the germans and that would insure the death of the jews hiding in his basement, or lie and break the eight commandment. What do you think he did? He lied. This is the same case of Obama. Should he have gotten a muslim to bless his presidency? Wouldn’t that have been worst? Especially when most of us know that he did practice islam and left it in his later years, even if his camp denys it, but, what should have Obama done? Pick Rev Wright? The gays should go back into their closet or just shut their damn mouths already! I am getting tired of this lifestyle being shoved down our throats every damn day. On Bill Oreally I had to endure looking at a woman who changed her sex to a man, decided to have a child, and insist that she is a man having a child. These people are sick! If you want to be gay, that is your doomed life and your preference but stop pushing it down our throats already. I am aware that Northquarter is mostly gay writers- but enough already! Obama made a wise decision- Period! I can’t stand the man- but give him credit when it is due!

Comment by HT | 2008-12-19 16:44:45

I’m delurking because I’ve seen your comments before and know that you are a semi regular. I am very disturbed by this diatribe.
To quote you “These people are sick! If you want to be gay, that is your doomed life and your preference but stop pushing it down our throats already.”
By what scientific proof do you deduce that being gay is a choice rather than a genetic situation much like diabetes? if your beloved brother or sister came out as gay, what would you do – turn your back, burn them at the stake?
What threat does the gay community pose? What would you lose by having gay neighbors who happen to be married?

Comment by NoTrollZone | 2008-12-19 17:25:16

um,appreciate you taking the crazy person “soldier of jesus, she/he who talks to god on a regular basis, knows what is in everyone’s hearts, is sure to sit on the right hand of jesus when passes away, feels free to morally condemn whoever the hell he/she feels like” to task.
But one minor note comparing being a LGBT person to a person with diabetes isn’t that great either.
Everyone is equal. People who hate people based on some perceived difference are simply people who hate people.

I won’t even get into your homophobia – it’s simply not worth my time to try to educate you on this issue, but please, he deserves no effing credit for this move.

Comment by AnnieO | 2008-12-19 16:58:17

As a straight woman, I don’t feel the gays here are shoving their lifestyles down our throats. I’m sympathetic to them because they are faced with discrimination, and they have a fight on their hands; therefore, they are going to be vocal about their plight and ways to correct it. They really don’t ask for much.

Why would anyone care if gays get married? And the nonsense about calling it a civil union and not a marriage is just ridiculous!

Plain and simple, it’s all discrimination.

My family came from Italy and didn’t own slaves but I have had to put up with this crap and have blacks be crappy to me over it. Now they got their frigging untalented, liar, con man, thief, cheat and completely FRAUDULENT piece of SHIT on the way to the White House to destroy this country. Black rights? We’ve had that crap shoved down our throats forever. WTF is wrong with letting gay people have THEIR goddamned rights? Kind of hypocritical that the whining, entitled to a free ride blacks came out to vote against gay marriage, while they just couldn’t vote for a white guy who would do better for the country. Enough is enough. Either everyone has the rights or else no one does. Period.

Wow, such anger! You might want to look deeper to see where all that anger and hate is originating. And, calling yourself “Soldier of Christ” is a bit of a misnomer, isn’t it? After all, didn’t Christ practice unconditional love and tolerance?

Who should Obama have chosen, you ask? Perhaps someone who reflects the teachings of the person for whom you are a soldier – love, compassion, tolerance. I’m guessing there are plenty of pastors out there who embody those qualities. And wouldn’t it have been amazing if he’d chosen a woman???

Comment by lorac | 2008-12-19 19:56:33

Whoa – what a lot of hate and ignorance! First, it doesn’t matter whether people are gay because of choice or genes, there is nothing wrong with the lifestyle! You’re apparently one of those who picks and chooses what they are going to believe literally from the bible, because I’m CERTAIN you don’t live by every strange thing said in the bible.

Second, you are very confused – sexual preference is not the same thing as gender identity! The example you gave of that woman changing into a man has NOTHING to do with gayness. It sounds like you’re still in the stone ages thinking that being gay means a man wants to be a woman and a woman wants to be a man. Additionally, most people who are gay look no different than anyone else. Your ignorance leads you to rely on only what you NOTICE – which is not the same as reality. Get a clue.

Finally, your screen name gives away your predilection to depend on non-proven beliefs, possibly delusions, so try to bear that in mind when judging others. The depth of your ignorance and your sophomoric worldview are mind blowing.

Comment by JozefAL | 2008-12-20 02:18:55

Technically, sexual “preference” is very tied into “gender identity”.
If you’re a woman who “prefers” women, you’re a lesbian. However, if you’re a woman who believes you’re a man trapped in a woman’s body and you “prefer” women, you’re still a lesbian until/unless you have a sex change/gender reassignment and physically have a basically male physique, at which point you’re then a “straight man”.
Similarly for gay men. If you’re a gay man (that is, you prefer sex with other men) who feels like you’re really a woman trapped in a man’s body, then having a sex change will turn you into a “straight woman”. (Your preference is still having sex with men; it’s just that now your outward appearance allows you to engage in that activity without public disdain.)
Historically, in most situations, it is the gay man or lesbian who is more likely to undergo a sex change operation than someone who presently defines himself/herself as “heterosexual”. Societal pressures, especially in terms of sexual identification, make it easier for a gay man to become a woman and then become involved with a man (or a lesbian to become a man and then become involved with a woman) since if someone who identifies as “heterosexual” undergoes a sex change operation and retains the current sexual preference, then the new physical appearance results in a de facto gay or lesbian identity (i.e., a straight man who becomes a woman and retains his preference for women would become a de facto lesbian while a straight woman who becomes a man and retains her preference for men would become a de factor gay man). While many heterosexuals do undergo gender reassignment, it’s often been after being in long-term relationships, even marriage and raising children which only increases the difficulty in determining gender identity, not only for the person who undergoes the sex change but also for the partner. Does the wife of a man who has a sex change operation suddenly become a lesbian if she remains with her transformed husband? Does the husband of a woman who has a sex change now become a gay man if he remains with his transformed wife? (Granted, the latter situation is MUCH less common than the former but again, there’s the societal pressure involved. With the latter, the husband can divorce his “wife” since she’s now a “he” but how much of that is because he’s afraid that strangers might think he’s now a “fag” as opposed to an inability to see beyond the exterior? With the former, women tend to be more likely to stay with their “husbands” since society seems somewhat more tolerant of a potential “lesbian” partnership than a pair of gay men. There’s also the common belief that women’s sexuality is more “naturally fluid” than men’s–which I believe to be major BS, but I digress–but it does seem that many women in this situation have chosen to stay with their “husbands” because they do feel they’ve invested so much in the relationship to that point and are willing to convince themselves that they really knew about their husbands’ struggles for years.)

“And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto Him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, They say unto Him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the Law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest Thou?”

“But Jesus stooped down, and with His finger wrote on the ground, as though He heard them not. So when they continued asking Him, He lifted up Himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. And again He stooped down, and wrote on the ground.”

.

I have always wondered what it was Jesus wrote on the ground.

I hate to say that I am enjoying this somewhat. I will not be watching any inaugural events so I just don’t quite care what happens there, but, my now ex, boyfriend chastised me for voting for McCain/Palin because his daughter is gay and he decided that I:
a. didn’t care about gay rights if I could vote McCain (even though I pointed out thier stances were exactly the same and showed him debate clips)
b. I didn’t care about the world if I wouldn’t vote for Obama.
He said it made him think I was selfish and not generous.

Yep. We broke up. Not just because of how he started seeing me, but I started seeing him as a hopey-changey daydream believer!

It’s too bad I’ll never hear his shock about what his guy does and I’ll never get to give him the look that covers the words I would have been too kind as to utter, “I told you so.”

For those of you realists here at NQ, who are GLBT, I am sorry that the hopey-changey daydream believers could not see the fraud for what he is! I am especially sorry to the lesbians, since Obama has thrown you under the bus both as women and as gays. My heart goes out to you and I want you to know that I do care about you and the world.

But JMc is not homophobic. He chose as his Chief of Staff an openly gay man. He just has this thing about state’s rights. It’s like his vote against the Lily Ledbetter Act. It’s not that he doesn’t believe people should sue for past examples of pay discrimination, it’s that he doesn’t think the statute of limitations should be extended. Remember, he’s the one who paid his female senate staffers more than the men.

Comment by Mandelay | 2008-12-19 16:28:17

Every newly-elected President immediately starts running for his (never her) second term. Obama already had some happy times with Rick Warren at the Saddleback Forum. Obama and Rick Warren both oppose gay marriage. I can’t recall Obama marching in Chicago’s Gay Pride Parade, can you? Obama reached out to the evangelicals during this election year. If the GOP again nominates a candidate who is not a favorite of the evangelicals, they (the evangelicals) will again stay home as they did this year. Take the evangelicals out of the equation and that second term might be another slam dunk. See Barack. See Barack run. See Barack elected again? Let’s see what other moves Barack makes to get his next campaign off the ground. Politics as usual a la Chicago.

The poor woman has undergone so much in the past couple of years (all of which I blame on Kevin Federline–I believe he’s the one who gave her the drugs, or made sure that someone in her house kept her drugged, during the custody fight), and the fucking paparazzi and tabloid press have invested so much in treating her like nothing but a circus sideshow act.
Now, if you want to compare Obama to Paris Hilton, feel perfectly free. That “woman” (and I really feel dirty for using such a genteel word for the Hilton trash) has done NOTHING AT ALL to warrant her “popularity”. If anything, Obama has actually done more than Paris to warrant getting media attention, though he’s just as vapid and shallow as Paris.

The more voices that are part of this process, the better the results will be.
And so far, the response has been remarkable — 550,000 people completed the online supporter survey. And this past weekend, supporters organized more than 4,000 Change is Coming house meetings in 2,000 cities across all 50 states.
Take an inside look at a house meeting in Virginia. Watch the video, see photos from meetings all across the country, and share your feedback.

Supporters like you are deciding how this movement will go forward. And your dedication is incredible.
House meetings were held in 2,000 cities. In Florida there were 302 events across the state. In Pennsylvania there were 165, and Ohio had 160.
From these meetings, survey responses, and thousands of conversations on My.BarackObama and email, your ideas about the future of this organization are taking shape.
Here are a few things you shared in the survey:
House meetings were the primary way supporters got involved in the campaign
People are excited to volunteer around a number of top issues, including education, the environment, health care, poverty, and the economy
86 percent of respondents feel it’s important to help Barack’s administration pass legislation through grassroots support
68 percent feel it’s important to help elect state and local candidates who share the same vision for our country
And a staggering 10 percent of respondents indicated that they would be interested in running for elected office
This feedback is essential to our next steps, because this movement is fueled by your ideas and your passion.
Watch the house meetings video and get involved by taking the survey or hosting a meeting of your own:

Between now and Barack’s inauguration, we’ll continue to collect your ideas and feedback.
After the inauguration, we should be able to announce a clear plan for the future of this movement — a plan determined by you.
Thanks for being a part of this journey to bring about change in the years to come,

I can never get past the “house meetings”. So creepy!

I wonder what kind of crap they were selling. Tupperware is above their paygrade.

That sounds about right for a group of junk peddlers.

I find this email scary. When will they start wearing brown shirts and marching around?

Thanks for sharing that sowsear, very creepy. More Obot messaging/programming from The Cult of His Majesty, aka Obama for America.

This is terrifying!! The plan for our Nation’s future is going to come from Obots??! We’re doomed!!!

Speaking of Bots, where are they today? I guess they’re busy coordinating and hosting their house meetings for The One.

BO gravitates towards the sickest individuals, it sems in looking for his father figure he has chosen these crazy, megalomaniacal, narcissistic preachers like Wright, Pfleger now Warren. They all think they’re God and are delusional, they all have millions from the poor brainwashed idiots that attend their churches and this seems to be the kind of bigoted radicals BO loves. Who is this guy Warren anyway, a snake oil salesman like BO himself. He found a way to stuff his pockets using, (big surprise) religion to do it. Hasn’t everyone had enough of these pseudo preachers who are so far removed from Jesus and Christianity they wouldn’t know him if he was right in front of them. Warren looks like a creep to me just like BO, there is not one iota of compassion, kindness or love in that face. I don’t think he cares a bit about aborted babies, gay people or whatever else he’s against, he cares about himself, money and puffing up his ego. Evangelicals need to wake up too, I mean how many of these hypocrites need to be caught on tape or ratted out by their lovers before you understand that they’re after your money.

Just saw a great bumpersticker

My marriage is not threatened by gay rights.

Love it.

“So we voted for a bigot. How about that. This sure puts us in a pickle.”

I would love to be a fly on the wall of some Obots as the koolaide wears off. The New Yorker, whose editor David Remnick is writing a book on Obama, is totally silent on the Rick Warren news.

This makes no sense except when you understand that Obama hates all things American and can not resist an opportunity to demonstrate his power and pettiness.

We are keeping track of who Obama throws under the bus, but we need a new category – Who got the bird from Obama. Hillary, the clinging people of PA, the people who supported him because of his promises about FISA or ending the war, environmental groups, etc.

Actually, That One isn’t concerned with anything but himself, being the center of attention, and the subject of adoration, with its associated ego massaging. It isn’t that he doesn’t love the country, but that he adores himself far in excess. Delusions of grandeur come to mind.

Could someone place explain to me how it was that during the primary calling Obama with middle name included was racist and disgusting.. they went as far as banning any person who uttered ” HUSSIEN” on TV… Now out of a sudden the the one is not BO any longer, but BHO….. What a fraud…..

Comment by beebop | 2008-12-19 18:30:15

I guess racism is the new PC?

Now that he’s the PE why does he still have to pander to any group, least of all the evangelicals? No, I think he likes Warren, really likes him because they are both snake oil salesmen–evangelicals need to wake up too along with the Obots. These Ted Haggard hypocrites are using religion and their mega churches to buy big houses(Wright included)and strut around like they are the chosen ones. The truth is Jesus wouldn’t be caught anywhere near these repressed phonies, check it out he was very angry at anyone who used God for profit. Warren’s the perfect choice for BO and the msiguided people that put their faith in such an obvious magalomaniac. May they be very happy together, at ;east until the next scandal.

Only the beginning of many let-downs from Obama the compromiser.
Participants at the Orange Urinal Forum are so shocked and disillusioned.

I try to refrain from thinking about what might have been. It’s too painful.
