[Update: "Touched by an Angel?"] OPEN THREAD + NOTES FOR OUR LOYAL NoQuarter Readers

You’ve no doubt noticed lots of new Amazon ads here. We are hard at work finding the very best deals that we can for you. Thanks to your generosity (and the holiday season), we have finally neared a goal we’ve longed hoped for: To earn 7.5%. If we get just 50 more items ordered, we will achieve that mark! So, if you find some items you truly want, and you have the funds to take advantage of these great deals, please order before the end of December, and we’ll have an extra merry holiday being able to pay our huge monthly three-server set-up and consultant fees. THANK YOU!

You can click on ANY Amazon ad, or use the search engine in the middle column, and our NoQuarter code will remain “with” you until you complete your purchase, even if it’s not an item we advertisr. I.e., you don’t need to purchase what we advertise; you only need to click on any of our Amazon images, before going to Amazon.com’s site, to ensure us a percentage of your purchase.

Coming up later today!
– More on Caroline Kennedy (Schlossberg)
– A shocking, horrific story of the rape of a lesbian by four men (with video reports that our new writer PM317 found for us)
– A recipe for homemade yogurt (!) …
– My story of a truly terrifying experience yesterday and how I was saved by the beautiful kindness of strangers
– And much more!

And now, it’s your turn …. what’s going on?

UPDATE:

’round here, I’m known as something of a heathen, but I always allow for the possibilities … because I am not in a position to know with absolute certainty … but I get more of a kick out of calling myself a “heathen” than an “agnostic” so that is who i am. But this story, today, touched me. I have no idea if this is in any way true, but I will make an allowance that anything is possible. And, BEST of all, that lovely little girl is alive and her mother’s heart is full of joy:

Happy holidays and thank you for giving us all the gift of No Quarter this year. I hope you reach your goal. You deserve it!

Can you get them to advertise Kindle books? I could really help you out there.

Comment by NoQuarter | 2008-12-23 20:01:36

I will add an ad for Kindle right now! Thanks for the suggestion!

That’s an item I’d love to have for writing stories — the ability to grab a quote from a book, as text (I hope), and insert it into a story would be marvelous.

I.e., I’m assuming that if one can connect the Kindle to one’s computer, then one can transfer a few paragraphs from the book. As things are now, I can go into a book at Amazon’s site, and take screenshots — but it would be best to be able to add the section as pure text.

I’m so glad I checked back here. I’ll do a few month’s worth of book shopping this morning. While I’m not as tech savvy as y’all so I can’t be certain, I don’t believe you can snag text from the Kindle to another document. You CAN, however, download books from the numerous free ebook sites (expired copyrights) to your Kindle via your computer.

Mark Crispin Miller on Democracy Now regarding Michael Connell’s (Rove’s IT guy) plane crash and election fraud.

Well I wonder who Obama’s (or Axelsnot’s) IT guy was for this past election? This year BOTH sides cheated — I’m sure of it. WE know that Obama cheated heavily in the Primaries — the caucuses in particular. IF they were willing to go that far and cheat in the primaries I’m betting that they decided to play the GOP’s game and cheat in the GE.

I bought some boots from Amazon (through the NQ link) — they arrived just in time for this huge snow storm.

People in this area do not do snow well. I had two years of snow combat training (grin) in Mass. — where ice storms hit first and then the snow. NASTY. Some people here drive with their right wheels on the shoulder — believing that they have better traction.

Thanks for the reminder. I have some books to order.

Have a wonderful holiday everybody and may your turkey be overflowing with stuffing and your cat/dog be stuffed to the gills with turkey.

This is what is on my mind… the poor treatment of women this past year:

and questionable tactics and priorities of the government in breaking into the home of citizens who are trying to live a good and decent life:

Let’s hope next year is a better one. But with bobo at the helm, it’s most likely to be more of the same.

Thank you, Noquarter, for providing this forum.

Why don’t you just publish on a regular blog, like wordpress? The extras to keep things going nicely are not that expensive. Also, they are pretty reliable.

In other news, anyone who followed closely the 2004 election saw some strange things happen in Ohio – things not reported in the MSM. But this is just coincidence, I suppose:

George Bush aide dies in plane crash

The death of the married father of four immediately triggered conspiracy theories amid speculation that he had been about to reveal embarrassing details of the complicity of senior members of the Bush administration in fixing an election and destroying incriminating emails.

My condolences to his family, all implications aside.

I need a few things because I just moved. I will go order them on Amazon right now!

Thank you No Quarter for giving the gift of truth and sanity, 24/7, 365 days a year.
