To sooth the soul through music while I am out of town. Hope everyone is safe and sound!
First up is this piece by Clannad (”Croi Croga”):
And to stay with the Celtic theme, there is this from “Celtic Woman,” a piece entitled, “The Voice,” performed by Lisa Kelly:
And here’s a bonus. “Celtic Woman” singer, Orla Fallon, performing a piece BY Clannad! But, in this you get to see the drummers, which is a total plus, in my book anyway:
There is just something about Celtic music that really gets to me, it’s haunting melodies, the totally primeval feel of the drumming, and the beauty of the voices…It feeds my soul, and I hope it does yours, as well…

Larry, et al, even Egypt blames Hamas for the Israeli air strikes. Please get a clue and get it quick.

Love Lundberg rice!
Dumb ass. YOU the troll are a typical dumb ass — also a sexist pig.
lol, Northwest rain, you’re on a roll. troll-swatting is fun.
I have found one person-I-always-liked who I can go on liking!
Dave Barry has managed to write his Year In Review without being hateful to the Clintons, bashing Sarah Palin (too much) and while demonstrating that he has not drunk the cool aid!
A little laugh now and then can’t be bad.

And thanks for the beautiful music.
Lovely Celtic music, Rev. Amy, thank you. I am impressed by the Clannad pic, the four figures standing still in the cold barren landscape like rocks arranged at Stonehenge, beautiful Moya Brennan (or is that her sister Enya?) somber in her hooded cloak: fitting imagery for these short & chilling, blessed days of early winter.
Hey, oowawa -
No, that is Moya. Enya sang with them when she was young, but obviously, has done pretty well on her own!
Glad you liked it!
Well, it seems we’ve enjoyed your last T-Day turkey without drugs….unless Tom Daschle decides to buck “pressure” from the likes of Pfizer…Wanna make a bet I stay vegetarian (except for the 3 oz of turkey I eat on T-Day?)
The Past Week(s): December 14-27, Recaps and Random Thoughts (”Heart” Series; Betty Currie Returns; “Money as Debt”; FDA Caves to Pressure, Antibiotics Back IN Food Animals as of 11/30)

Hey Amy!
How about “All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth”? LOL!
I broke a tooth the weekend after Thanksgiving, so I get a crown tomorrow.
My Christmas package from my daughter was last seen going through Philadelphia…no wonder Palin plugged Rudolph…he is senile! LOL!
Seriously though, music is my last refuge in a hostile world, and it always lifts me!
Thanks Rev. Amy! The things one learns from this site.
Celtic History
Interesting that the
.
Thank you Rev. Amy!
I love, love, love Celtic music…it speaks to my soul as well. My forebears hail from Ireland/Scotland and I guess those rhythms are in my blood.
HEy, y’all – my pleasure, truly!
And Teak, you are right – I learn a lot from our readers!
The real siren, however, is Loreena McKennitt. Her soaring voice fills a theater without a microphone. Shucks, if I weren’t already married, I’d marry her.
And she is a true Celt.
..And she is truly in a class by herself.
If you didn’t get to see her 2+ hour performance (with an extraordinary band)at the Alhambra on PBS a couple of years ago, you can now get the DVD (Netflix has it too)…this is one of the most amazing performances I have seen.
